The Top 10 Best Organic Foods for a Healthy and Sustainable Diet.
Organic food refers to food that is grown, processed, and produced without the use of synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), irradiation, or other artificial additives. Organic farming practices prioritize the use of natural methods for pest control, soil fertility, and disease prevention, such as crop rotation, composting, and the use of natural predators.
In order to be certified as organic, food must meet specific criteria established by government regulations. Organic farmers and food producers undergo regular inspections to ensure that they comply with these regulations and meet the standards for organic production.
Organic food is often associated with being more environmentally sustainable and healthful compared to conventionally produced food. While research in this area is ongoing, some studies suggest that organic food may contain higher levels of certain nutrients and lower levels of harmful contaminants.
Tumblr media
Organic food has been gaining popularity in recent years as more people become aware of the potential health and environmental benefits of consuming organic products. Organic food refers to food that is grown or produced without the use of synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). In this article, we will explore the benefits of organic food and share some of the best organic food options available.
 Benefits of Organic Food
Organic food has a number of potential benefits, both for the consumer and the environment. Here are just a few reasons why you may want to consider incorporating organic food into your diet:
Healthier for You: Organic food is grown without synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, which can leave harmful residues on fruits, vegetables, and grains. Studies have shown that consuming organic produce can reduce your exposure to these harmful chemicals.
Better for the Environment: Organic farming practices are designed to reduce the impact of agriculture on the environment. This includes reducing soil erosion, conserving water, and minimizing pollution.
Supports Local Farmers: Buying organic food supports small-scale farmers who use sustainable farming practices.
Better Taste: Many people find that organic food tastes better than conventionally grown food. This is likely due to the fact that organic produce is often fresher and grown in soil that is more nutrient-rich.
 Best Organic Food Options
Now that you understand the benefits of organic food, let's take a look at some of the best organic food options available:
Fruits and Vegetables: Organic fruits and vegetables are a great way to incorporate more organic food into your diet. Some of the best options include strawberries, spinach, apples, grapes, and bell peppers.
Grains: Organic grains like quinoa, brown rice, and oats are a healthy and tasty addition to any diet. These grains are often higher in nutrients than conventionally grown grains.
Meat and Dairy: If you consume animal products, organic meat and dairy products are a great choice. Look for grass-fed beef, organic chicken, and organic milk and cheese.
Eggs: Organic eggs are a great source of protein and other nutrients. Look for eggs from free-range chickens that are fed organic feed.
Nuts and Seeds: Organic nuts and seeds like almonds, chia seeds, and flax seeds are a healthy addition to any diet. These foods are high in healthy fats, protein, and other nutrients.
 In conclusion
Organic food is a great choice for anyone looking to improve their health and reduce their impact on the environment. By choosing organic fruits and vegetables, grains, meat and dairy, eggs, and nuts and seeds, you can incorporate more organic food into your diet and enjoy the benefits that come with it.

Sorry if you’ve already answered something like this! how does Warrior Bites work into the initial journey in TNP? I don’t recall how long the journey to the sun drown place took, but I feel like with how cooked food is preferable due to diseases and parasites, did Bramble and co have to get dewormed when returning to the clans? Or perhaps the Tribe could help them with that on their way back, as a thanks for how they help drive out Sharptooth?
I feel like it’d be difficult to sneak out with extra rations with how the Clans were struggling, plus it’d be difficult to carry all the tools required to cook every time they set up camp. It’d be easier for them to eat their prey raw, at least during certain parts of the journey.
Would also be an interesting opportunity to introduce the cast to different foods, too! Rogue groups in twolegplace using vegetables from gardens for flavor, for example. I couldn’t find if there’s salt beds in English mountains, but if there is the Tribe would have way easier access to it than the Clans do. I bet they’d have wildly different cuisine as a result.
Sorry for the long winded ask but your ideas tickle my autistic brain just right fjahfhsh
The Tribe mountain MUST have salt under it, right? The Appalachians and the Caledonians are the same mountain range split up by tectonic shift and I know there's salt in the Appalachians because it's, like, pre-life-on-earth old right? Hangon
*le googel*
YEP there's a lot of salt in Cheshire, one of the counties I use as a model. Which I could have just learned by googling "uk salt mine." However, my brain is a rube goldberg machine.
The Sundrown Patrol DEFINITELY needed a deep cleaning! They would be full of fleas, probably be carrying a couple of bad knots or a couple of mats, and one or two of them definitely caught worms. Probably Squirrelpaw tbh, knowing her impatient little butt (affectionate).
The Tribe wouldn't do a deep deworming though, because that takes time and the Clan cats would want to get home as quickly as possible. They just stayed for the quick celebration to gather some rations and planned to leave... but then the appearance of Sharptooth changed their plans.
(btw if you wanna see how the Sundrown Patrol's Journey to the Lake goes in Bonefall TNP, I made a map and a synopsis!)
Setting up a basic cooking fire wouldn't be TOO hard though! You just keep a couple of sticks to use as spits and roast your prey over the open fire, like either a roast or a marshmallow. Beats dealing with tapeworms for the whole trip.
Funny enough I actually think it's Crowfoot/feather who's the main cook of the little patrol, I keep feeling like Mudclaw was a pretty good chef. He would have passed that onto Crow.
Tawnypelt: "It's almost sunrise, Crowfoot is late... if he doesn't come soon we'll have to go without him."
Crowfoot: "Hold your hedgehogs I'm here. I was making tunnelbuns for the trip."
Squirrelpaw: "Where- what-- how did you do that so fast??"
Crowfoot: "youre weeeeeeeeelcome."
Stormfur: "Hang on, you didn't steal from your own Clan in famine, did you?"
Crowfoot: "??? I mashed my personal larvae stash to make into travel rations and this is the thanks I get??? you think my clanmates were gonna keep my mealworms alive while I was gone?? Mousebrain!"
Brambleclaw: "Yuck, who wants to eat mashed bugs?"
Squirrelpaw hiding how appetizing it sounds because her buddy Sorreltail opened her eyes to how good grasshoppers can taste.

Anyways, you're afraid of how this election is going to go, and you're not sure what you can do to help,
Here's some tips on how to get active in your local community if you are not already:
Look up local groups on facebook.
If you have a local "Buy Nothing" / "Free things in X" group, join it, and see if you're able to pitch in when your neighbors are in need. Probably 80% of the posts in my local Buy Nothing group is parents looking for baby formula, baby clothes, or toys, so even the smallest things you can help with can make a huge difference.
Look up and join a local community garden or gardening group. If you're not good with plants, see if anyone local can show you how to get started with planting, care, harvest, and especially seed saving.
Once you've got it down pat, share your knowledge and share your produce. Gift your neighbors with fresh vegetables and fruits and if you've got tons, post online to see if anyone wants to do some swaps or pick up extra.
Teach people how to save and plant the seeds from any ripe fruits or veggies you give them, and over time you'll have a bigger and wider community growing their own food and sharing it freely.
Look up plants native to your area and try to grow them in your garden to support local pollinators; sharing and gifting Native plants is a great way to make connections and foster communities, almost as much as sharing food.
Join local "What kind of snake is this?" facebook groups and learn how to differentiate between venomous and nonvenomous snakes in your area, and learn to appreciate native wildlife instead of being terrified at the sight of a single scale, and spread awareness of the importance of native wildlife.
Volunteer at your local food pantry, and see if there's anything more you can do to help; try to spread awareness and if its in your ability, see if they need help with delivering food to those without transportation, and see if you can start recruiting more like-minded people as delivery drivers, because most of the time its down to one single person to help over a dozen local families with food delivery who would otherwise go hungry.
See if you have a local library, get a library card, and see if there's anything you can help with, or see if they have local programs you can join to learn new skills, read books out loud to people, or if you have a skill of your own you'd be interested in sharing with others, consider signing up to make your own club to teach others.
See if there are places with local game nights like Bingo, D&D, etc and join in to meet new locals directly.
If you have any kind of local queer programs, join and meet your local queer community members and see what you can do to help or just to make new friends.
If you have a local program or group that strives to help marginalized communities, see what you can do to help; many local cities will have some kind of program where you can help out newly immigrated families with tours around town, giving rides to those without transportation, showing them the local grocery stores, helping them with the local currency, and doing translations that you can join to make a big difference in someone's life for the better!

maybe my toxic workplace trait is that I'm a snob about tea, but one day my director poured some tapwater in a carton gobelet over a lipton teabag and microwaved it for one minute before handing it to me so actually I'm the traumatized one here and they should give me a kettle with a thermometer and a triple 3-5-8 minutes hourglass as legal compensation
