When it comes to alternative energy, there's lots of great solutions. Everybody loves solar power, where you put out a bunch of expensive panels and just collect all the free money that falls from the sky. Most people love hydroelectricity, where you spin a wheel with water and then laugh all the way to the bank. What doesn't get a lot of respect is wind power, where you put a giant spinning thing super high up in the air, and then harvest power from the winds of fate.

We can spend all day guessing about why that is: I think it's the fear of heights, in the same way that vaccination campaigns have to overcome the "needles scary" instinct that has been drilled into us by Hollywood celebrities and that very stern lady who gave us a hepatitis jab in junior high. That said, if we did spend all day talking said shit, then I'd be late to my new job, which is selling expensive wind-power solutions to the city.

"Didn't we ban you from the property last month?" asks the nice city architect I am meeting with. He is partially correct, in that I was banned from a city council meeting after throwing fists when they threatened to take away my free parking (in a neighbourhood I don't live in, but has gradually become "overflow" for the 1975-1981 Pontiac collection.) However, today I am operating in my professional capacity, as a corporation: the Switch Centripetal Assets Multinational. We are here to sell things that spin in the wind, and save the Earth at the same time.

Despite the uphill battle, I successfully convince Mr. Nosey that I am in fact my own identical twin brother. I roll that confidence boost into a big sale: several dozen partially-broken Dana 30 axles, with an old hood welded on one end to catch the breeze, and an old alternator welded onto the other. Works like a charm, and can light almost an entire string of Christmas tree lights if you're currently experiencing a hurricane. A few weeks later, we've successfully sunk them into the ground and cashed a large cheque consisting entirely of government cheddar, and I'm on my way to pick up a bunch more shitty old Mopars.

The best part is, nobody has to be afraid of heights, unlike with my sloppy European competition. They're about five and a half feet tall, due to their origins as a truck axle. You can walk right up to these suckers and service them, though I strongly recommend ducking if the wind is really blowing. Still, if you get decapitated by it, that will at least convince the doubtful to instead be cautiously afraid of its immense power. Nothing better for advertising.

(disclaimer: some of this would be specific to a human and/or modern au, because i love drawing them as humans, love the designs i gave them, and was not yet born in 2000- let alone conscious to remember anything about it. also i like giving them tails, even in the human au. this ended up being very long, so here’s a courtesy cut!)

max goof:

this man is BISEXUAL!!!!!!! he and roxanne were bi4bi, but they (mutually) broke up their senior year of highschool bc roxanne was moving for college across the country. after a bit of time, they went to just being close friends :3

speaking of college: we know that the goof family is poor. THEREFORE, i raise you: max is at college via a full ride scholarship. he worked his ASS off to be able to go to college without having to take out loans or “leech” from his dad, and it paid off!

he’s actually REALLY smart but a lot of people don’t know that bc “oh that’s some alt skater boy. he’s probably scraping by with a C average at best”.

he’s also the only reason bobby has passed any classes since junior year of hs

he came out to goofy the summer after he graduated high school. goofy cried bc he was so happy max trusted him enough with that and threw max 2 parties. he is the type of dad to buy max pride socks and wear a shirt that says “i love my gay son” for all of june. max is more than a little embarrassed, but overall? he loves his dad, and he’s really glad his dad loves him no matter what

idc what yall say he is NOT a little white boy as a human 😭😭😭 was literally jump scared the first time i saw him drawn white bc like i just thought it was agreed upon that he’s a POC

continuing with him as a human: yall will see this when i post my designs, but he’s pierced UP ‼️ he’s got snakebites he wears rings in (outwardly mimicking his buck teeth, since i draw the rings thick), both a madonna and monroe piercing, heavily gauged lobes, a double conch and double helix on his right ear, an industrial on his left, a right eyebrow piercing, and a tongue piercing. i also toyed w the idea of hip piercings but thinking abt dermal piercings makes me genuinely sick so

he also taught himself how to do piercings and pierced bobby’s lobe. a good half of his piercings were done at home. do not follow his example <3

(he tried to pierce his nipples and failed horribly, so he just took out the jewelry bc he was NOT having uneven nipples. this is based on one of my friend’s experiences!)

that takes about 2 minutes. his hair, however, takes him a good 30! and an ungodly amount of hairspray.

he’s the typical frat boy who’s been with a ton of girls, and he just kind of assumed that sex was a chore people went through and it was supposed to be be kind of unfulfilling for everyone

nah it’s just bc he wasn’t actually attracted to women 😭😭 he didn’t realize that he’s gay until his junior year of undergrad

(max and his stupid mouth full of stupid piercings that pours out stupid words and dumber retorts is what made him realize)

(he was literally like a little boy pulling on his crush’s pigtails and didn’t even realize it until about two weeks after the x-games, when he couldn’t stop thinking about how max still smiled at him and called off the bet afterwards)

on this topic: realizing he was gay caused an absolutely gigantic crisis, especially since he didn’t have a support system at all

(tank needed a lot of time to process everything, and even longer to begin forgiving bradley)

(speaking of that, while bradley was still officially the president of the gamma mu mu fraternity on paper [his dad paid everyone off], tank took over his position after the x-games. bradley was basically ostracized)

the main part of why his being gay was such a horrible realization for him is because his dad is the epitome of conservative. his mom believes queer people are just misled.

oh good lord, now it’s time to talk about his horrible father!!

as we’ve said, bradley’s dad is extremely homophobic. he’s the kind of guy to say spew absolutely every false “fact” or “statistic” and homophobic rhetoric anyone could have, and did this to bradley

he also put insane amounts of pressure on bradley

in the words of myself after watching a sad tiktok:

“[bradley is] so comphet and horrible neglectful parents who put far too much pressure on him core. he’s such a trust fund baby except the people who created that trust aren’t even in his life. he’s so simultaneously absent father and father who is constantly There, in his mind, judging him. he’s so internalized homophobia [because of this]”.

his father is definitely financially abusive btw

while he’s extremely rich, he threatens to take away any and all funding and shut down bradley’s cards at even the slightest hint of failure

being gay wouldn’t just get bradley’s funds cuts, though. it’d get him cut entirely from the family.

he’s meant to be perfect because he’s meant to be exactly like his dad and take over his dad’s place after retirement.

even one mistake would “warrant” his dad yelling at him for hours

bradley’s extreme daddy issues is what caused him to react so strongly to goofy saying “well clearly you don’t understand the bond between a father and son 🙄”

also bradley’s dad is the kind of guy to go for younger girls. he had four wives before bradley’s mom, but would leave them as soon as he found out his spawn was to be a girl instead of a boy. he needed a son to take on his “legacy��, and if they couldn’t provide that, they were worthless

and them being ~21 means they wouldn’t know any better

plus, he believes in the stupid “a woman’s prime childbearing years are 16-23 🤓” bs

so like even as he got older, he kept getting with women in that age range instead of those of his own

aka bradley’s mom was 21 and his dad 36 when they got married and had bradley within the same year.

on this note , bradley’s mom is.. not as bad

she holds the same values as his father, but isn’t nearly as extreme

she wouldn’t disown bradley for him being gay, but she would cry and cry because she thought it was a sign she failed as a mother. she’d beg him to “take it back”

to bradley, this is even worse than his father’s anger, since he was a mamas boy through and through.

she wouldn’t ever stand up to his dad, but even when he was young, bradley understood that it was out of fear

if she could get away with it, his mom would always comfort him after his dad’s outbursts

but if she was caught, his father would yell that all this soft treatment would turn him into a (slur i’m not comfortable saying!) and he needed to learn his lesson

all im gonna say is she blames herself

however, speaking of when bradley was young..

his mom has wavy/curly blonde hair

when he was young, he had the exact same hair as his mom

however, as he got older, his hair got darker

until it eventually became the same shade as his dad’s

bradley knew this made his mom a bit sad, but neither of them commented on it, because they both knew bradley was even more upset

it meant that he was now a near carbon copy of his father- minus his hair still being curly, and his lack of facial hair

however, when he got older and his hair became darker, his dad started pressuring him to straighten it, too

of course, he did, even though he hated it

… and at college, as a very subtle way of rebelling, he stopped straightening his hair until he had to see his father

minus tank, roxanne was the closest friend to bradley growing up

his dad wasn’t really happy he was so close to a girl, but since roxanne is family, he let it slide; he’s supposed to be such a good family man, after all! it’s the uppercrust image!

anyways, as i said, they were super close

they would gravitate to each other every family get together (christmas, thanksgiving, etc) and would beg their parents to let them visit each other as often as possible

it was much more common for bradley to visit roxanne’s house than vice versa, since roxanne’s parents just have a feeling about bradley’s father. bradley had no issue with this at all

however.. max knew absolutely nothing about this!

whenever roxanne would say “sorry, i’ve got family over right now, i can’t hang out today”, he just wouldn’t question it

and bradley would passively listen to roxanne talk about her crushes, but since he couldn’t relate, it just sort of went into one ear and out the other

they also started to drift a bit during highschool

roxanne coming out to bradley was.. a lot. but he loves her, and knows she’s the best person he’s ever met, and so slowly, he begins to unlearn what his parents taught

roxanne is extremely proud (lol!) of bradley and bradley is.. feeling a lot of things, but he can’t say hate for others is one of them

for a long time, even when bradley was growing closer to the goof troop, winning back tanks everything, and accepting his feelings for max, roxanne was who bradley could always count on. she’s the person he came out to first, and he actually went to her for boy (max) advice multiple times 😭

she caught on quickly but didn’t mind at all

anyways, neither roxanne nor bradley knew that the other knows max- let alone that they eventually both date him

for the first time max is friends with bradley and roxanne comes back to spoonersville for christmas, max introduces them

except they already know each other.

and instead of “hello, im ___”, what he sees is them absolutely booking it towards each other with an “OH MY GODDDD!! HIIIII!! IT’S BEEN WAYYY TO LONG!! I HAVENT SEEN YOU IN, LIKE, 2 THANKSGIVINGS!!!!! HOWVE YOU BEEEN OMG WE NEED TO CATCH UP!!!!”

they both completely ignore max and he’s stood there absolutely DUMBFOUNDED

bc what are the chances they know each other?? roxanne is NOTHING like the front bradley puts on, and her parents sure as hell aren’t millionaires

So.... while we're waiting for ASM Season 3, how about a little off-topic tuesday? (this won't be a regular thing, i promise!)

Here's what I've been reading during the hiatus! (romcom edition!)

This Love is a Traves-tea!? It's an adorable romcom manga about a woman named Chako who's running away from her psycho stalker ex and straight into the arms of a hunky tea maker!

It's got all the cute embarrassed pining of a classic romance manga plus who can resist daddies daddy-ing? Idk about you but i'm a sucker for manga about found families and the kids are hilarious in this! Chako also makes a super charming FL, I love her sweet sincerity.

Wakaba-chan Wants to Make it Clear! The rough and sporty Wakaba-chan lives a not so secret double life, hiding her feminine side from her longtime childhood best friend and crush, Daiki!

I know what this manga looks like. But coming from the creator of A World Where Everything Definitely Becomes BL vs. The Man Who Definitely Doesn't Want To Be In A BL, this manga is 1000% more wholesome than you'd expect! It's a super short and sweet slice-of-life romance manga that needs more fans!!

Life with Muta It's the comedic life of two arranged roommates, except their lifestyles are complete opposites! Akari's life is filled with trash and trashy men while Muta's a complete minimalist with no room in his heart for romance!

While short, this manga has so much amazing potential, as it takes one step away from being a spinoff to Marie Kondo's guide to tidying up to a whirlwind tale of romance. Plus, when our ML is this kind of guy... don't you just HAVE to know more?

Part 2: Sweet? or Spicy?

You have been friends with Jongho for a few years. You met both of your Freshman year and now the end of Junior year is approaching. It’s at some kind of Freshman event that all the clubs and school organizations are trying to recruit new members. Walking around the rec center gym where a bunch of booths are set up, you’re looking at some brochures on an unmanned table when you quite literally run into him. When you turn to walk elsewhere, you smack into someone's chest and you yelp, pulling back quickly, your hand over your mouth. Since you’re pretty short, even though he isn’t super tall for a guy, he’s bigger than you. Also, not just from literally faceplanting into him, you can tell he’s strong. His pants are extremely tight and so is the long-sleeve button up he has on…

"Woah!" He steadies you by placing his hands on your shoulders and even his hands feel ridiculously strong.

"I'm so sorry!" You apologize again, not normally very clumsy. At first you wonder why he was so close to you, but the place is quickly growing packed and there isn’t too much room to move around. The event was supposed to be outside with more room, but it’s pouring so they had to set up inside. Due to the amount of people, if you backed up too far you’d be sitting on the table, so you’re forced to stay close to him. What draws your attention most is that he’s in a dress shirt and pants with a vest. It’s like…hot as balls out even with the rain. Why is he so covered up?

Someone excuses themselves behind him and he’s forced even closer to move out of the way, and his hand has still not moved from your shoulder.

"A-are you wanting to look at this?" You point behind you, shuffling to the side so he can look at the brochures. There’s a map of campus laid out on the table as well, both things explaining all of the different places and things one could do. He smiles and moves up to where you had been and so you grab a pamphlet and go to move on, but he calls out to you.

"Do you work in the weight room?" he asks.

"Oh, yeah. Why?"

"I saw you there yesterday… Is there a time when it’s less busy?" He picks up a flyer and walks over to you and once again someone brushes by him, and you find him even closer to you again.

"Um, the early morning. We open at like six, there aren’t too many people then." Most people don’t like hearing that. You go to bed and wake up early so you don’t mind working then. It actually pays more than in the evening because most people don’t want to work that early.

"Great, thanks…"

"(Y/N)." you tell him, holding out your hand for him to shake and he returns it.

"Jongho."

After that he’d come by the weight room when you were working and since it was slow that’s also when you work out. You aren’t great with cardio since you had asthma as a kid and so you just lift. It makes you laugh when he comes in because he always wears long pants and long sleeves, whereas you’ll be in a sports bra and capris leggings. Eventually you begin hanging out outside of the weight room and you join his group of friends. They’re…a lot. Most of the time, Jongho and you will sit off to the side and watch as Seonghwa tries to calm the chaos. One night you’re hit really hard by the fact that you had gotten a crush on the youngest of the group. It’s Sophomore year, and you’re all hanging out in a small grassy courtyard behind the Liberal Arts building. It’s nearing the end of the school year, and it’s early spring, only a sweatshirt is needed even as the moon rises. Some of the boys are running around like children while you sit on a picnic blanket with Jongho, Hongjoong and Seonghwa. You’re putting together some small Lego sets with the eldest when you hear a shrill cry of your name.

"(Y/N) help me!" Wooyoung screams and you sigh but don’t turn to look at him.

"Whatever it is, you deserve it!" You call back and he screams again. Finally, you turn to see what is happening and he’s being held captive by San as Mingi and Yunho bites his arm. Not having any idea how it go to that, you deadpan at the scene and sigh. Getting up, you shoot Hongjoong a look and he looks up from where he’s writing notes of a new song, his guitar on his lap.

"Aren’t you dad? Seonghwa's mom? When did I turn into mom?"

"When Jongho became dad." Hongjoong tells you and glare at him. He wasn’t wrong. Jongho is the scariest and if Wooyoung or San are being annoying he’ll just pick them up or squeeze their hand real hard. He can even throw a Mingi over his shoulder if need be.

"Why am I mom?" You look quickly at Jongho who’s leaning against the tree, his eyes closed, earbuds in. Seonghwa snorts and you glare at him then.

"Please." He scoffs and you flinch.

"What is that supposed to mean?" You question and the eldest shoots Hongjoong a look himself and they have a silent conversation.

"Whatever-"

"(Y/N)!!!!!" Wooyoung screams again and you know you have to do something before you all get in trouble. Groaning, you jog over to them, prying San's arms off of Wooyoung while flicking Yunho and Mingi hard on the forehead. They yelp dramatically and fall back, holding their heads. San lunges to grab Wooyoung again and the younger one hides behind you, using you as a shield.

"Uh, guys-" Yeosang, who’s standing nearby trying to watch, but not get involved, calls out.

"Jung Wooyoung!" you scold as he squats behind you, holding your legs, pressing his cheek to your butt. His hand is wrapped around your thigh and your face feels warm having him hold you like that.

"Wooyoung-" Yeosang is ignored again and suddenly the other three look at something behind you in fear.

"What?" You try to turn and look too but there’s a person attached to you.

"Oh my gosh, let go!" When you reach to pry his arms off of you, he just holds on tighter, his other hand landing on your inner thigh.

"Ah!" he screams out of nowhere and he’s off of you. You stumble at the force of what yanks him off and teeter before getting your balance.

"What the-" You finally turn and see Jongho has pinned Wooyoung down on the ground and is holding his arms behind his back. He isn’t doing it hard enough to hurt him, but he’s restricting him from moving.

"Ow, ow, ow!" He yipes and seeing the display of strength, and the fact that he’s doing it to rescue you, makes your heart thud against your rib cage. That must have been what Yeosang was trying to warn of and why the other three got startled. The fabric of Jongho's sweatshirt spreads tightly over his back as he wrangles the older boy, his jeans hugging his butt and thighs perfectly, and it hits you- Throwing your hand over your mouth, everything that everyone had been seeing but you suddenly springs to mind. Whenever you needed help with anything, Jongho was there. If you were ever upset or even excited, you go to Jongho first. He buys you your favorite snacks when you meet up and you always sit next to him. When you’re sick, he’ll go to your dorm room and take care of you. If it’s cold, you’ll let him huddle up to you for warmth. Also, you’re made aware of the way you’d ogle him all the time. Not only is he handsome and has the voice of an angel, he’s thick in the best kind of way and everything he wears is always tight. Even though he barely even shows his forearms, to you he’s extremely attractive in every way.

"I think she figured it out." Seonghwa chuckles quietly to Hongjoong.

"About time."

For almost a whole year you’ve been crushing on Jongho, but you haven’t the courage to do anything about it. You’re scared that if he doesn’t likes you back in that way, it would ruin your friendship. So, you just hold it inside as your crush grows and grows. Afraid to admit it, even in your own thoughts, you’re falling in love with him even though you aren’t even dating. There’s definitely been times when he’ll flirt with you, and you’ll give it back. But who knows if it means anything past just being playful. One night when you’re all at your apartment, eating, drinking, and playing video games, you have a bit too much to drink. You tend to get emotional and cry easily when you’re drunk, and you can feel tears pricking your eyes with no prompting. Not wanting the boys to see you like that and make fun of you, you shuffle back into your room, mumbling about going to the bathroom. Instead, you just sit on your bed, sniffling.

"(Y/N), are you okay?" Wooyoung knocks on the door, peaking in and pushing it the rest of the way open.

"M'fine." you mumble, and he fully enters, kneeling in front of you.

"What's wrong, why are you crying?" His hands cup your cheeks, wiping the tears away.

"Dunno."

"You don’t know?"

"Mhmh." He coos at your cute tipsy state and his hand moves from your cheek to your jaw. He can’t help himself anymore, you’re way too cute. He leans forward, his nose bumping yours and you sober up real quick. You quickly hold your hand up, placing it between you two and he blinks in surprise.

"S-sorry, Wooyoung, you, uh-"

"I'm not Jongho?" The older boy sighs, and you gape.

"I might be a dumbass, but I'm not an idiot, (Y/N)."

"M'sorry." you mutter, and he shakes his head with a small smile.

"Not surprised. Though, I think you should tell him. I don’t like you coming in here to cry about it." He stands up and holds his hand out to help you get up from where you’re sitting on your bed. Giving him a shy smile, you let him help you up and you both go back out to the crazies.

"Where'd Jongho go?" you ask, and Yunho waves toward the door to the balcony. The door is propped open with a wedge, and you go to join him out there. Better than later, especially with some liquid courage in your system. For some reason though, when you reach for the handle, you halt. Fear grips you and with a sigh, you take a step back and go back to sits on the couch. Wooyoung shoots you a look from where he sits on the floor, and you shake your head. When Mingi asks if you want another drink, you decline and sit watching them play games. Maybe another time…

Looking at the time on your phone, you huff, crossing your arms where you stand. You’re waiting outside of Jongho's classroom, ready to be done for the day. He’s going back to your apartment with you because you need help putting together your new desk. While you could manage physically, you’re really bad at reading directions, and he offered to help after you started to complain about it. There are still some kids leaving the classroom since they had to gather the materials they need for some presentation project. When what seems like the last kid has left, he still hasn’t come out. The professor has even left already, so you get up from the bench and go far enough into the room so that you can look around the corner at the end of the entryway. He’s still in there, two girls sitting at the table with him. Must be in his group… For some reason, seeing them there, so close to him, makes you really mad. Maybe it’s because they’re making you wait longer for him, but it’s more how close they’re sitting to him. It’s not necessary, and they laugh at something he says a little too hard. He’s funny, sure, but that’s too much to make sense. When the brunette to his left rests her hand on his arm you see red. Looking at the drink you got him, you sneer and storm into the room, clenching the cup tight. You have waited ten minutes between standing in line and getting the beverage for him, then you had to wait while he’s flirting around! They don’t notice you until you sidle up to the table and slam the drink in front of him, the ice rattling in the liquid.

"I'm going home." you snap and turn aggressively, storming back out. You know you’re getting a little too mad. He’s your best friend, sure, but you two aren’t even going out, but you just got so upset. Why don’t you have the courage to flirt with him like that? Why don’t you have the courage to confess to him?

"(Y/N)!" he shouts behind you as you stomp down the hall toward the entrance. You hear one of the girls call something out as well, but you can’t hear it as you shove hard against the push handle of the door, throwing it open. The cool late spring air smells like rain, the wet pavement evidence there was a short downfall while you’re waiting for him.

"(Y/N)!" he calls you again, much closer now. Damn your tiny legs-

"Wait!" Jongho is right behind you, but you just keep going.

"Hey!" He sounds mad, his hand grabbing your wrist so he can haul you to turn around and face him. He’s taken aback by your red cheeks and eyes and the fire in your gaze. His grip isn’t tight but even with you being stronger than the average college girl, there’s no point in even trying to fight him. His face hardens and he pulls you closer to him, his nose almost touching yours.

"Why are you so mad?" he snaps, and tears flow down your cheeks like when a pot boils over. The burner heating your anger shuts off and you just start to sob.

"H-hey." His anger dissipates immediately as well, and he uses his hold on your wrist to pull you into him, hugging you. You ball your fists up against chest, trying to push him off to no avail. You aren’t fighting that hard anyway.

"Let go." You cry pitifully and he knows you don’t mean it.

"What's wrong?" He pulls back just enough so he can look at your blotchy face. Avoiding looking at his face, one of his hands comes softly to your chin so he can move your head, making you look at him.

"I hate you." You mumble and he almost doesn’t catch it, but your tone is insincere.

"Uh-huh." He scoffs. You say that a lot when you’re pouty. You hate things quite easily when you don’t mean it.

"I hate your stupid handsome face. I hate your stupid pretty voice. I hate your stupid deliciously tight pants. I hate your stupid gorgeous hands-" You’re rambling, and he stares at you in shock. Sure, you’re saying you hate him in multiple aspects, but they’re more or less compliments. They ultimately are also confessions, each one.

"(Y/N), (Y/N), hey, slow down-“ You’ve told him you hate how sweet he is to you, how sexy his strength is, that he smells good. In his head he turns each 'hate’ to 'love', and he translates your rant. I love that you are so hot when you’re scary and mad. I love that you're so effortlessly powerful. I love that you look good in literally anything. I love that you know me so well. I love, hate, love, hate…When you keep going, he chuckles, releasing you from his hold, but moves both hands to cup your jaw. He cuts your rant off with his lips on yours, swallowing your next words. You squeak in shock as the kiss turns from a sweet 'shut up' into something extremely heated. You sigh out a moan, your eyes slipping closed, and he slips his tongue in your mouth. One of Jongho's hands move to the back of your head, tilting it, and pulling you closer. The other finds your waist and you press closer to him, his hard body unrelenting against your much softer one. Your head swims and it's like his breath is fanning the flame building in your belly. When he finally, reluctantly, pulls away, you’re both breathing hard.

"You still need help building that desk?" Both his hands are on your waist, his thumbs rubbing your stomach over your sweatshirt. Yeah, then you can bend me over it…

"Y-yeah." The reality of the situation hits you, and he pulls back, linking his hand with yours.

"Come on." As you two walk off campus and toward your place, you let him lead you, lost in your head. Your fingers are constantly brushing over your lips, not sure if you’re more shocked by the kiss or the things you said leading up to it.

"So, I'm stupidly handsome?" He starts and you groan.

"Oh, god."

"My voice is pretty?"

"J-Jongho-"

"My pants are deliciously tight?"

"Please stops-"

"Gorgeous hands?"

"…"

"I'm sweet? Sexy? Smell good?"

"Uh…"

"Hot when I'm scary and mad? Powerful? Look good in literally anything? What was that last one?"

"…that you know me so well…" He stops right in front of your building, and turns to look at you, your hand still in his.

"Obviously not as well as I should."

"What?"

"If I knew you so well, I should have realized you like me back."

"Well, I tried- wait, like you back?"

"Yes, silly girl." He smirks and holds up your linked hands in front of your face.

"I love that you so readily hold my hand. I love how cute you are, especially when you're mad. I love hearing you laugh. I love how big my sweatshirts look on you. I love how you can split an apple in half like how I taught you. I love that you always spoil me by cooking for me. I love watching your cute little ass in your little shorts when you're at home. I love that you use the perfume that matches my cologne. I love how passionate you get about things you like. I love how you can problem-solve anything. I love that you’re so small but so strong. I love that you're always by my side." He lists off and you’re crying again. You sniff happily and he pulls you into another hug, you dig your fingers into the leather of his jacket.

"I hate you." You mumble into his chest, and he laughs.

"I love you too."

Jongho and you get up to your apartment and you shuffle inside awkwardly, even though it’s your home. He let his bag rest by the door, taking his shoes off as you go to the bedroom to put your own stuff down. Closing the door, you heave a heavy exhale and while you want to sit in the middle of the floor and have an existential crisis, you want more to go spend time with Jongho. So much happened suddenly with you both confessing, and you feel somewhat hungover. You change out of your jeans and when you grab a pair of sweatpants, you think about what he said earlier. Instead, you grab a pair of shorts, don those, and go to your closet. Switching out the sweatshirt you’re currently in for one of his he has there, you look in the mirror that’s built into the door of your closet. I love how big my sweatshirts look on you. I love watching your cute little ass in your little shorts when you're at home. Your face visibly flushes, and you step away from the mirror, patting your cheeks as you go back out to the living room. You halt when you see him on the couch. It seems he’d been wearing a t-shirt under his leather jacket, a short sleeved one. While you’ve seen his forearms before, it’s rare and so you practically ogle the little bit of skin. He’s relaxed back on the couch, sitting there likes he owns it, the room, and your apartment. Like usual. His pants are, as you often state, deliciously tight. You want to sit yourself on his lap and ride his strong thigh till you cum all over it. Shaking your head to clear it, you shuffle closer and feel very shy for some reason. "Come here, pretty." He holds his arm open, and you shuffle over to him. When you go to sit down next to him, he instead pulls you down onto him. Jongho rests back against the couch, settling you sideways over his lap. Resting your head on his shoulder, you two sit there quietly, just reveling in the contact.

"Jongho?"

"Yes?" His arm wraps around your back, hand on your hip to hold you in place and you fiddle with the strings of his hoodie you have on. When you don’t say anything, he bounces his leg, the force making you bounce as well. This movement readjusts you, so you’re facing him more. He’s so handsome and the fire behind his eyes warms through you.

"C-can you kiss me again?" You whisper softly and he chuckles. You let out an 'eep' as he shifts you further, causing you to straddle him. Wanting nothing more than to rub your covered pussy over his thigh, you hold back. He keeps going though, turning so his back is to the armrest and this gives you the room to kneel between his legs. His leg is bent at your side between you and the back cushion, his other foot planted on the floor. He’s so confident, and it’s so freaking hot. Leaning forward somewhat shyly, your hands rests on his chest and get bumped by his leg against your back, pressing you into him. You’re surrounded by Jongho, his scent, his warmth, his strength. His lips meet yours again and you sigh in delight, his hands come to hold yours on his chest. This kiss is less hungry, and he lets you take the lead more as you lean against him. Pulling back, you kiss his cheek, and this makes him huff out a laugh. You shift and kiss the other side of his face above his jaw and then lay one on his neck.

"(Y/N)." He sighs your name out and he leans back more, letting you lay on him more. Splaying your hands over his chest you groan at the muscle you feel under there. He’s just delicious. Your head swims with the thought of what he looks and feels like under that black t-shirt. Laying another kiss near his chin you move back to his lips, and he smiles. Propping yourself up on your knees more, you hover over him, tilting your head down and deepening the kiss. His powerful arms wrap around you and hold you closer. Your arms wrap around his neck, and he helps you to straddle him again. When you sit down fully you feel the impressive bulge in his pants.

"Fuck." You gasp and he looks at you smugly.

"Is this moving too fast for you?" He asks and you look at him, shaking your head.

"Dear lord, no. Do you know how long I've wanted this?"

2025.02.02 Yuzuru Hanyu: "2025 will be deeper and broader" - Exclusive interview published for five days from February 3rd

Professional figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu (30) gave an exclusive interview to Sports Hochi by February 1st, where he shared his aspirations for 2025, expressing the words "deeper and broader."

The third installment of his ice story series, Yuzuru Hanyu ICE STORY 3rd "Echoes of Life" TOUR, for which he serves as both performer and executive producer, will conclude with performances in Chiba (July 7 and 9 at Lala Arena Tokyo Bay).

The tour began with a performance in Saitama (Saitama Super Arena) in December last year, where he said, "It was a performance where I felt like I was able to show what I've worked hard for," and at the Hiroshima performance (Hiroshima Green Arena) in January this year, he said, "I felt like I wanted to put in a bit more effort."

Always striving for the best performance, he gives it his all in the two and a half hour one-man show. Even after turning professional, he continues to evolve as an athlete, seeking to deepen and broaden his journey. Starting from February 3rd, Sports Hochi will feature a series of exclusive photos and interviews with him over five consecutive days. (Takagi Megumi)

2025.02.03 Yuzuru Hanyu touched on philosophical books and Dazai Osamu, spun a story over three sleepless nights... Exclusive interview 1

First part of the exclusive interview with professional figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu (30). He is both a performer and executive producer of the "Yuzuru Hanyu ICE STORY 3rd "Echoes of Life" TOUR,", which will conclude its run in Chiba (on the 7th and 9th at Lalaport Tokyo Bay Arena). Like in his previous two ice story performances, he also wrote the script for this one. The work, which touches on the philosophy of life as its theme, was completed after three sleepless nights of writing. In the preparation phase, Hanyu engaged with philosophy books as well as novels, including works by Osamu Dazai.

Hanyu also wrote the script for the two-and-a-half-hour ice show, which he skates solo. This time, he completed it after three days of staying up all night.

"During that time, I was practicing for two days (laughs). On the first day, I practiced, then came back and stayed up all night. After another practice, I stayed awake and kept writing. 'Oh, it's morning already.' Then I thought, 'Ah, it's the third day, time to practice.'"

Showing his incredible concentration, which has often amazed audiences in the past, Hanyu produced a well-crafted script.

"I felt that I had to write when the thoughts came to me, and I was simply worried about the deadline (laughs). But nothing was coming to me. I had pretty much the outline in mind, but figuring out the setting was the hardest part."

He incorporated philosophical concepts like "What is life?" and "What is 'I'?" into this ice story.

"It took me nearly two months to decide what I wanted to convey and select the programs that would make up that story. From there, the setting was roughly decided, the outline was decided, and the type of story I wanted to write was decided...'I have to write it,' I thought, and while I wrote bits and pieces, I wasn't satisfied with what I had done. So, I ended up discarding everything and started over from scratch."

Hanyu always writes by hand. He scribbles on paper. In the preparation stage, he read not only philosophy books like The Disaster of Birth but also novels. One of these novels was Osamu Dazai’s No Longer Human.

"I thought I should read Dazai. I hadn't really been exposed to novels like that up until now. The only book I had read properly was The Kojiki (The Record of Ancient Matters)."

The mention of The Kojiki is intriguing. He read it back in junior high school.

"There was a time for reading, and during that period, my mother handed me The Kojiki to read (laughs). I didn’t really have many opportunities to engage with novels or written text, and I wasn’t particularly good at it. So this time, I listened to the audio on Audible and read No Longer Human."

He followed the narration with his eyes, while also absorbing the text. He also spun stories in his past shows GIFT and RE_PRAY. During that process, he was told that his story was "like that of Osamu Dazai".

"This time, I really wanted to write it like a novel, I wanted to write a proper story. There were people who said that my writing style was somewhat similar, so I thought I had to study properly."

Once he made that decision, Hanyu was determined to learn everything he can.

"The way the words are used, and the story itself. I don't think there are many people who read 'No Longer Human' and go, 'I get it!' But it’s certainly valuable as an educational work of culture—to peer into human darkness and desires, to understand the very roots of them. I think it's worth having that kind of knowledge and worldview in your head."

2025.02.04 Yuzuru Hanyu: 'What to do about the 6-minute practice' and the Piano Collection... Exclusive Interview 2

This is the second exclusive interview with professional figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu (30). One of the highlights of the "Yuzuru Hanyu ICE STORY 3rd "Echoes of Life" TOUR," which will conclude with a performance in Chiba (7th and 9th, Lala Arena Tokyo Bay), is the "Piano Collection." We asked him about the background to the creation of this nearly 10-minute feature-length work of five piano pieces, and his particular attention to detail.

In the first half of the ice story, "Piano Collection" has become one of the highlights. After performing a nearly 10-minute long medley of five piano pieces, he transitions directly into his short program from the Pyeongchang Olympics, Chopin's "Ballade No. 1." How did the idea for "Piano Collection" come about?

"First of all, there was the issue of what to do about the six-minute practice."

After turning professional, Hanyu has been incorporating the 6-minute practice into his solo shows. This innovative approach is based on his desire to "create a competitive atmosphere."

"This time, the premise was that I wanted to write it as a story, so I had the idea of scraping the 6-minute practice part. However, when I thought about the performance content up to that point, I realized that I needed to create something that could properly build up to it (Ballade), and if I could create something that could be properly organized as a program, I thought that would kill two birds with one stone."

The structure moves from the piano medley to the gold medal-winning performance. A breathtaking sense of tension enveloped the venue.

"Some people have said they liked seeing the official practice sessions, and I think the serious, stoic attitude of working towards a single goal is a form of expression in itself. When I thought about embodying that in the character Nova, I initially wanted to make the piano pieces incredibly stoic, turning them all into etudes (practice pieces). I had a strong image of ending with 'Ballade No. 1' after a series of etudes. That's the idea that started it all."

The five pieces that follow — Brahms, Bach, Scarlatti, Chopin, and Chopin again — were carefully selected.

"It was very difficult. I thought about arranging the pieces chronologically. For instance, showing the evolution from Bach to Chopin, and how they would eventually lead to Chopin, or conversely, I could start with Chopin, go back to the past, and then come back to Chopin again. I also considered making all the chords the same. I thought about many possibilities, but I realized that I wouldn't get anywhere by thinking on my own, so I consulted with (pianist) Kiyozuka (Shinya)."

The selection was then finalized with the help of Kiyozuka, a man he trusts, who suggested potential pieces.

"I said, 'I have this image, but what should I do?' From the start, I told him that I wanted to line up several pieces that were each just under a minute long. We discussed, 'If we line them up this way, it would form this kind of collection. What do you think?' But I also didn’t want to do too much editing. However, there were parts where I felt editing was necessary. It was really a trial-and-error process, and I was determined to include Baroque music. That's how it turned out."

Jeffrey Battle choreographed the five fascinating pieces. Which of the pieces is the toughest to skate to?

"They’re all tough!"

This is the third exclusive interview with professional figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu (30). The final performance of the "Yuzuru Hanyu ICE STORY 3rd "Echoes of Life" TOUR" will be in Chiba (7th and 9th, Lala Arena Tokyo Bay), where he will perform "Ballade No. 1," his short program from the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics. He is executing the same high-difficulty routine as back then, layering it with the 'Sound of Destiny.'

After performing a 10-minute "Piano Collection," composed of five pieces of music, Yuzuru Hanyu skates his short program (SP) "Ballade No. 1" from the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics. As he had said, "It's all tough!" the routine includes not only jumps like the quadruples and triple axels, but also parts expressed with spins and steps, making the physical demand extraordinarily high.

"My feet were strained in the previous piece, 'Mass Dis'[Note 1]. Also, the costume change from 'Mass Dis' is quite difficult. While frantically changing into the 'Ballade 1' costume, I quickly put on my shoes and head out to the ice. I was panting and thinking, "I need to concentrate," when Brahms started. I recently made a mistake on the triple loop (the first jump)...I think I made a mistake once and it became a trauma. I couldn't get the loop right, so I was feeling anxious about the loop in the (next) Bach part. And after that comes the toe loop."

Scarlatti plays as soon as Hanyu landed the quadruple toe loop.

"That toe loop is extremely nerve-wracking. The following (triple) axel is also nerve-wracking, and it's tiring. It's like doing anaerobic exercise the whole time. It felt like I was getting ready, then doing anaerobic exercise again, then catching my breath and doing anaerobic exercise again, and so on and so forth."

Then comes "Ballade No. 1," a high-difficulty routine starting with a quadruple Salchow and featuring two jumps in the second half: a triple axel and a quadruple-triple toe loop combination.

"Well, it’s tough. At first, I thought I could do it just fine. I thought it would work (laughs). But it turned out to be more difficult than I thought. Initially, I thought maybe I could just use the structure from the 2020 Four Continents Championship [Note 2], not the one from PyeongChang. I thought that was the final form, so I figured that would be fine. But when it came to 'the Sound of Destiny,' if I was told to 'play the sound of your own destiny,' I realized that it had to be the PyeongChang version."

This Ice Story has "sound" as one of its key themes. Right before taking his starting position for "Ballade No. 1," a narration is played: "Now, please play the 'sound' of your word 'destiny'."

"The destiny I have reached is of course "SEIMEI" (from my free program at the PyeongChang Olympics), but I think I was able to win because I was able to perform "Bara 1" without any mistakes there. There was a ritual (the piano collection) to get to that point, and I wanted to show that I had followed the path of destiny to reach it. It’s difficult, but I’m determined to stick with the two jumps in the second half."

He performs this after skating for over 30 minutes since the start of the show, on a smaller rink compared to a competition, in a dimly lit show venue.

"The trajectory has changed quite a bit, and I’ve had to change the choreography. The sharper the curve, the harder it was on my legs. I was experimenting with different things, and I did feel it was tough. But, I managed to do it once without any mistakes (at the Saitama performance), so I’m going to do my best."

After the Pyeongchang Olympics, the rule that multiplied the base points of all jumps in the second half of a performance by 1.1 was revised, limiting it to the last one in the short program and the last three in the free program. After the revision, the composition of the Four Continents Championships was a quadruple salchow, a quadruple-triple toe loop combo, and a triple axel in the second half. Hanyu achieved a world-record score of 111.82 points in that competition.

This is the fourth exclusive interview with professional figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu (30). Since turning professional in July 2022, he has been taking on the unprecedented challenge of performing a two-and-a-half-hour ice show all by himself. The final performance of the "Yuzuru Hanyu ICE STORY 3rd "Echoes of Life" TOUR" will be in Chiba (7th and 9th, Lala Arena Tokyo Bay). While interacting with his body and researching training methods, he is focusing on building a body that balances endurance and explosive power. He has started gym training and also taking dance lessons. With an endless desire to improve, he is on the path to evolution.

Training to build up the stamina needed to skate for two and a half hours while also mastering the explosive movements unique to figure skating is hard work.

"Explosive movements need to be practiced specifically for explosiveness, and for slow-twitch muscles [Note 1], it depends on how much practice I can do in full runs. I always feel like I have to think of them separately and train for them individually. For high-difficulty jumps, I approach them with techniques suited to their difficulty. Then, there's the stamina needed to skate for over two hours, as well as the grip strength required to tie my skate laces."

He changes costumes for each program and takes off his shoes each time. The laces of his skates need to be tied very tightly. Including encores, there are 15 songs in total. There are many moments, other than skating, that drain his physical energy.

"I’ve been pulling continuously for so long. Like in “Utai” (the third performance), if I keep stretching my hands all the time (in choreography), I lose arm muscles. Of course, jumping also requires grip strength. So, I guess my grip strength is getting stronger as I go along. I have been lifting barbells recently. I do deadlifts and high cleans."

While interacting with his body and conducting further research, he has also started new machine-based training.

"That’s really to make sure I can maintain high output no matter how tired I am and also to make sure I can use my body effectively."

His physical condition is better than during his competitive days. He says he is currently at his leanest, and this is intentional. "For what purpose?" He immediately answered.

"I just want to get better. As I continue training to improve, I naturally get leaner. I feel like any excess has been eliminated. It’s close to the balance I had during the Helsinki World Championships in 2017. I’ve gained muscle mass since then, so I’m about 1.5 kg heavier, but I think the fat balance is the same as it was back then. I think it's ideal for myself."

He turned 30 in December last year. His physical strength and technique are evolving. "I’m amazed at how much more I can still do." He feels the possibilities for his future. His desire to improve knows no bounds. After completing "RE_PRAY" last April, he started taking dance lessons, which he had taught himself until then.

"I took a little lesson with MIKIKO (the choreographer). MIKIKO originally works in hip hop, and also jazz, or rather contemporary, so it's a variety of genres. When it comes to hip hop in particular, I've always said that I really don't have a solid foundation. I told her, 'I want to work on the basics.' She sent me a lot of videos and I worked on it."

Hanyu, who has the ability to effortlessly control his body in everything from classical music to intense pop tunes, gives himself a harsh self-evaluation which also reflects the potential for his growth.

"No, I realized I can’t do this much. There were really simple things that I couldn’t do at all. I practiced those simple things for about three months, and I wonder if I’ve gotten a little better, but I still feel like I have a long way to go."

2025.02.07 Yuzuru Hanyu: From "full marathon" to "ekiden", increasing output to 2.5 hours... Final part of exclusive interview

This is the final installment of an exclusive interview with professional figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu (30). He is both a performer and executive producer of "Yuzuru Hanyu ICE STORY 3rd "Echoes of Life" TOUR," which will kick off its Chiba performance at Lala Arena Tokyo Bay on the 7th. The two-and-a-half-hour solo show will reach its final series with some changes only possible with a tour. The pace distribution will change from a "marathon" to an "ekiden". He will pour his soul into every performance, keep his output high from the start, and fulfill his "expression" beyond his limits.

In the January performance in Hiroshima, he left an impression by using his body more expansively. What happened after the Saitama performance in December?

"After Saitama, I received criticism from (director) MIKIKO-sensei."

He shared this with a laugh.

"She told me, 'You had more power in "First Pulse" (the first piece), didn't you?' and I said, 'Ah, yes, that's right.' There were also some things like, 'Let's fix this here, let's fix that there.' I just said 'yes.' When I watched the video, I definitely agreed with her. The hardest part for me was recovering from the fatigue of the Saitama performance. After that, focusing and practicing the full run-through was also difficult because of time constraints. But I’ve been doing training to expand my own physical range of motion and mobility."

A two-and-a-half-hour solo performance, connecting each piece with full energy.

"I’m doing it with the momentum of an 800-meter sprint or a full marathon (laughs). In "RE_PRAY" (from the previous Ice Story), I felt like I was doing it with the breathing and exhaustion of a full marathon, but this time it's probably closer to a relay race (ekiden). Fans have said, 'It's like an ekiden,' which left an impression on me. For example, they said, 'The section of Ballade No. 1 is like a hill, right?' Each program can cover for each other even if one of them falters, so it's like a relay race. That made sense to me."

While the Saitama performance was more of a full marathon type, the pacing was changed for the Hiroshima performance.

"In Saitama, I kept a steady pace throughout, not varying much, but still consciously putting in effort where necessary. That was something I learned from RE_PRAY, and it was a success because of the practice I had done. In Hiroshima, I increased my output significantly, including for the new program. As a result, there were parts that didn’t go well, but I believe the expressive quality improved tremendously."

There was something to be gained from the two shows in Hiroshima, where the performances were performed with full power from the very start.

"I had never used my body in such a full range of motion before, like in “Poem” (“Eclipse/blue”) and "GATE OF STEINER. From start to finish, I was able to skate while immersing myself emotionally, which was a successful experience for me."

Through the cycle of questioning and reproduction, the tour will reach its final performance in Chiba.

"Right now, I’m trying out new knowledge and training methods. I've made some big updates between Saitama and Hiroshima. I’m still in the process, and my body is changing as I go. Like with RE_PRAY and GIFT, there were times when I sacrificed expression for the more intense parts, like Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso or Dark Messenger or Ballade No. 1. I want to continue training my body so that I can give my all without sacrificing expression."

ARTICLE: AS A ROOKIE IN THE SHIFTER CLASS (AT 15 YEARS OF AGE) HE WON THE WINTER CUP… WITH A FEVER! (2022)

Among the classes of international karting there is one that represents the arrival point in the career of a professional kart driver: KZ. First it was called Formula C, then KZ1, but the name matters little, the essence is that we are talking about the top class, in which super experts race, even at 20-30 years of age. People who have practically nothing more to learn and who by profession demolish the new recruits, the rookies, until these, based on many overtakings and after a lot of competitions, cut their teeth and enter by right, in turn, in this small circle of drivers who are referred to as "the senators". But every now and then, to tell the truth, very rarely, particular rookies appear on the karting scene capable of overturning this practice. As in 2013, when in the opening round of the season, the Winter Cup at the South Garda Karting in Lonato, a teenager from Monte carlo showed up who, despite being physically KO, decided that certain habits ... were not his cup of tea.

It is 17 February 2013 and it is cold, as it should be on a winter Sunday when you are near Brescia, precisely at South Garda Karting in Lonato, for the Winter Cup. KZ was not scheduled for that weekend, so all the top drivers of the premier class poured into KZ2, which had something like 70 entrants. Among these, names that have marked or would go on to mark the history of karting: Davide Forè, Marco Ardigò, Paolo De Conto, Arnaud Kozlinski, Bas Lammers, Anthony Abbasse, Ben Hanley, Patrik Hajek, Roberto Toninelli, Fabian Federer, Yannick de Brabander, Flavio Camponeschi and Rick Dreezen, just to name a few in no particular order. However, there was also a boy from Monte Carlo born in 1997. His name is Charles Leclerc and he had already made himself known globally for his excellent results (above all by winning the 2011 CIK-FIA World Cup in KF3, the junior class of single speed karts at that time) in the other classes in which he competed. After a 2012 in KF2 (the year in which the now famous long-distance bickering with Max Verstappen occured, which we talk about in the article "Editorial - Leclerc vs Verstappen: the true story of the first clash in the days of karting"), his manager and Charles's team manager decided that the time had come for him to gain experience with "the seniors", in KZ and KZ2.

Charles did not hold back. To the contrary: "He was very motivated and eager to start his journey in shifter karts - Marco Lombardi told us, his mechanic in ART Grand Prix, the brand and the team for which Leclerc was racing at the time, also because he always wanted a more performing vehicle. He was thrilled to have the sensation of feeling closer to racing cars”. Leclerc had his first race ever in a shifter kart two weeks before the Winter Cup, in Muro Leccese, on the occasion of the first round of the WSK Master Series, where he finished in sixth position. His team manager Armando Filini, a historical face in karting, as well as one of the best chassis builders in the sector, was not that surprised by the disarming naturalness with which the young driver form Monte Carlo took his first steps in the new class: "I have known him since he was little, because Jules (Bianchi, editor's note) was his mechanic in France in the MINI class and brought him to me in Maranello Kart for his debut in the Junior class. Charles was very smart: he quickly adapted to everything. At any race he participated in, with any type of tyre, there was no need to spend a lot of time studying the track or anything else: he was already racing strongly at 90%, so it was much easier to get good results with him."But it's the difficulties that make certain stories worth telling.

Leclerc talks to Lombardi and Piergiorgio Ballarini, another mechanic who was working with him at the time, while he is leaning on his kart (ART GP - TM Racing), just outside the ART Grand Prix team tent.

Do you think that the Winter Cup, in the rookie class, could represent a fairly intense and arduous challenge? You would be wrong. In fact, another factor complicates things for Leclerc, the absolute co-protagonist of this story: a fever. That's right, Charles Leclerc showed up at the Winter Cup with a 39°C fever. "From the first days it was clear that he was not in great shape and from Friday he was not at all well", admits Lombardi. “He had flu and was physically weak. At the end of the day, after having raced, he was completely down and out”. A physical condition for which most mere mortals would stay in bed to rest, the most daring, perhaps, on the sofa watching TV. Instead, the fifteen-year-old from Monte Carlo was on the bends of a kart track taming a vehicle with a weight/power ratio comparable to that of the best road supercars. But on one condition: "I told him, Lombardi remembers, 'Look, if you have a high fever, at least skip the last free practice session', but he replied with an endless series of 'No'. He wanted to get on the kart and race to the last, regardless of everything". In the end, a short trip to the pharmacy, accompanied by the engineer of the ART Grand Prix, to buy some medicines was a must. But the real therapy for Charles seems to be another, as Lombardi explains: "When driving adrenaline kicked in, it was so intense that it gave the impression that his fever had passed". This allowed the young driver form Monte Carlo to work at it and improve during free practices: “His driving was quite clean. The problem arose when the track was a bit more slippery, like in the early rounds and he, despite this, wanted to see the time, even if the track was 'slow'. He complained if they gave him two tenths, not considering that there were more experienced drivers who knew how to adapt better to those conditions".

It goes without saying that when Charles sets the 11th best time in the qualifiers, with his TM Racing powered ART GP, he was anything but satisfied: "He had suffered at the beginning because the track was was not rubberizing quickly and he loved grip", explains Marco. "He was a driver who tended to always keep his foot down, so in the first races in KZ he found himself in difficulty in slippery track conditions: he forced too much and wore the tyres a lot". But Charles does not lose heart: “he was demoralized, continues Lombardi, but he motivated himself as soon as he got back on the kart the following morning. When he was unable to do something, he was even more motivated and in any case it was enough to explain things to him once: he immediately took everything literally and put it into practice". In fact, Charles performed very well in the various heats, winning a second place as the best result and climbing up to eighth place in the general rankings. Thanks to his driving style, more and more effective with an increasingly rubberized track, and to excellent teamwork, Leclerc continued to progress and, as the weekend continued, managed to take fifth position in the pre-final. Marco Lombardi recalls that he “always earned at least one or two positions at the start. It helped to have the driver in front as a reference point, which always pushed him to say: 'I have to go and get him, I have to overtake him". While the performances on the track improved, the same cannot be said of Leclerc’s physical conditions, still with flu and feverish.

In fact, on the day of the final, looking at his face, which was pale and suffering during the parade of the drivers, anything could be predicted except what would actually happen. Charles still managed to stay calm on the starting grid: "I always told him, Marco says, 'You already have a heavy foot, but in the race you have to use your head, especially when overtaking: study your opponent, identify the right moment to pass and be firm. Don't pretend, because if they take advantage of the driver behind and, with him, the group following him, five of them will take you". In short, a fifteen-year-old in a cage of lions: Leclerc dashed from the third row, while the first was occupied by his teammate Ben Hanley and the Birel De Conto standard bearer. “We had more of a chance with Hanley, admits Armando Filini. “With Charles we still didn't have the certainty of the final, we didn't know how he could behave over the duration”. Only a phenomenon can surprise even a long-time karting figure such as Filini, who had already seen it all… But he could not have imagined what he was to witness that day. Ready, go and already the first surprise: the driver from Monte Carlo darted off and, overtaking the entire row in front of him, moved into third position. The spectators were almost stunned seeing that cat-like leap and Armando reveals that it was not only Charles' skill that allows him to do certain things, but also his attitude: "When he had his teammate in front of him, he had to go and get him, even at the cost of trampling over others".

Ever since the traffic lights went out, the race was of an incredible sporting intensity. However, after an excellent start, Leclerc seemed to be in trouble: in fact, he was overtaken first by Ardigò and then by Forè. However, the driver form Monte Carlo maintained an impressive coolness and was not intimidated, even when he happened to miss a gear and risk being "devoured" by those behind him. "It was difficult to give him advice", Armando specifies. "He was very instinctive, so we also let him do his thing a little bit. Especially because he was a youngster and you couldn't think that he already had the mentality of a 30-year-old professional". Charles still asserted himself in the midst of more experienced and titled drivers, so much so that he took back third position towards the middle of the race, thanks to two masterpiece manoeuvers: the first against Forè, the second against Ardigò (two multiple world champions). Leclerc thus found himself in the wake of his teammate, who in turn was staying very close to the leader De Conto, but a few laps from the end Forè tried another attack on the driver from Monte Carlo and went far forwards, hitting Charles. Ardigò took the opportunity to overtake and the young driver of the ART Grand Prix team returned to fourth position, also losing some ground against his rivals in the lead. When the chequered flag was just around the corner, in a situation like this and in a class like KZ, most people would naturally throw in the towel and accept that the gap with the podium was now unbridgeable, especially if they then suffer a "blow" like this as a fifteen year old, in his second experience in the highest class of karting, with a 39°C fever.

Charles gave it to Lombardi, autographing it and referring to the nickname that Marco gave him: “Sgrintela”, which means “lizard”. The driver for Monte Carlo made a small mistake and wrote "Sgrintera".

Instead, Leclerc still managed to amaze. A few metres to make sure there was no damage and the driver from Monte Carlo went back to pushing himself, without being discouraged: "I had five or six drivers like Leclerc, including Bianchi, Barnicoat, Harvey and Hanley, but in my opinion Charles was the one who was hungrier, he wanted to achieve results as soon as possible”, Armando reveals. "The others had a little patience: they knew they had to learn and were aware that sometimes someone else could simply be faster and therefore there was little to do. On the contrary, he refused this possibility. Even when he knew that drivers from other teams were more incisive on a certain circuit, he had to find something to stay ahead. With this goal, therefore, he tormented everyone: me for the chassis, Franco Drudi of TM Racing for the engines and the telemetry operator. He was obsessed”. And Leclerc proved this determination precisely in the last rounds of that Winter Cup. In fact, the driver from Monte Carlo firstly got back into third position, taking advantage of a spin by Ardigò, caused by a rear-end collision by De Conto. Then, following a contact between De Conto and Hanley for the leadership of the race, he managed to overtake his teammate thanks to an extremely shrewd manoeuver: after receiving a body blow, Hanley was forced to widen and Charles dived right into that space: “It was a crucial moment of the race, he managed to take advantage of it (taking second place behind De Conto, editor's note) without coming into contact with anyone.

However, he then began to have some fears," admits Marco. The driver born in 1997 was one step away from completing an unthinkable feat and it was natural that even he would be a bit insecure: "He kept looking back, watching who was chasing him and I kept signalling him to look forwards" . But in the end Leclerc kept up the pressure and crossed the finish line in second position. The young driver from Monte Carlo let loose his joy, while the spectators started rubbing their eyes to understand if what they had seen was true: "I knew he could do well right from the start, but I honestly wasn't expecting a podium and it surprised me" Lombardi confides. “He didn't expect it either, considering the fever problem too. But he never gave up, he gave 100% to the last. He had gained confidence in seeing himself improve constantly over the course of the weekend and in the final he drove with a knife between his teeth”. A great effort that deserved a great prize. If, in fact, Charles was already enthusiastic about the silver medal and having kept his expert teammate behind him, the icing on the cake came when, after the award ceremony, he learned that De Conto had been given a penalty of five seconds for his manoeuver on Ardigò.

Leclerc thus inherited the victory and was over the moon: "he was really happy and didn't even seem sick anymore" remembers Marco. "It was his first really important race in shifter karts and there were all the drivers participating in the world championship. That Sunday evening, he had so much adrenaline in his body that he wanted to stay and eat with us, but at a certain point his father told him that it was time to go home". As a winner.

The Report Card – Fantasy High Junior Year Ep 3 Fast Times at Fantasy High

Welcome back to Fantasy High! It’s a very exciting episode because something that we rarely see in this show about high schoolers studying at an adventuring academy is happening: The Bad Kids are actually going to class.

But first, they have to get to school. Riz, unsurprisingly, arrives first. On a big old 30 Investigation roll (+11 to a 19), overnight he did a deep dive into what everyone needs to do to get into a good college. Fig is actually doing great. If she would just go to her classes, she’d be fine. Kristen on the other hand is in serious trouble seeing as allowing your god to die is pretty much an auto-fail for a cleric. Fabian and Gorgug are both solid students with good extracurriculars. Their main hurdle is going to be the MCAT–the Multiclass Achievement Test. In order to multiclass, you need to get permission from your current advisor and pass the test. Then you can take 3/4 of each track for a 150% course load. And then, of course, he and Adaine are the party nerds so they’re doing great. They could maybe add some extracurriculars but they’re model students.

RIz also has done some research about possible college options: Astral State University (where they visited in the one shot), CUS Dabus (in the City of Doors), Bastion City University (who are doing big, world changing stuff), the Society of Shadows (the rogues only group that forces you to leave your life and friends behind that Penny Luckstone refused to join in The Seven), and–most hilarious but also saddest–Lord Salazar Edge's College of Lone Adventurers (which we learn in the AP was a Murph pitch, lol).

Back at Mordred, Adaine is doing her best to get her less studious friends up and ready for school, going as far as casting Friends on them to get them in the car. Fig willingly fails and Kristen–who really wants to be convinced–sets the DC at 10 and gives Adaine the Help action. Before they get to the car, Lydia (Ragh’s awesome mom) slaps a toxic looking blue energy drink from Kristen’s hands and gives them all full trash bags full of food for lunch (she’s used to feeding half-orc athlete Barb Ragh, not three spellcasters).

Jawbone loads them in the car and, on the way to school, they hear the song of the summer which is this emo anthem. When they meet Riz, he’s super excited to see everyone and show them their dossiers. He even made one for Adaine just for fun even though she doesn’t need any help and she loves it. What she (and Riz) don’t love however is Fig’s new school plan which, as we learned last week, is to enroll in something other than bard classes and then go to her bard classes (since a part of her isn’t going because she has chronic Stick-It-To-The-Man-Itis). Riz and Adaine try to figure out if they can gaslight Fig into going to her classes or hack the system somehow.

Back at the Thistlespring tree, Gorgug is doing some last minute pre-school work: creating his homunculus (which is kind of like an artificer’s familiar). It’s a hastily made archaeopteryx (flying dino thing, if you know Pokemon, think Archeops) that’s light on the feathers. He accidentally names it Cloaca (a birds multipurpose excrement chute) which his parents love because it’s spreading awareness of non-traditional bodies. Then they launch into a story about mermaid reproduction that I’m not gonna get into because not even Gorgug wanted to hear it. He’s clearly anxious about his skills because he feels his parents disapprove of the bird even though they’ve never been anything other than 200% supportive of him in their lives.

He gets a ride to school and his friends meet Cloaca, who he nicknames Chloe–the name I’ll be using even though the Bad Kids of course will exclusively call it Cloaca. Riz hands Gorgug his file which he reviews along with the letters from his parents. It’s a lot of the same info except that one of the letters is a rejection re: Multiclassing with a note to talk to his advisor (Porter, the Barb teacher who Fig hates).

Fabian shows up, starving and shabbily dressed without Cathilda to take care of him–she’s still in Leviathan. The girls share their trash bag food with him which he wolfs down gratefully. (When he mentions his parents are away, Fig seems surprised that Gilear left. Interesting to note for future eps because that feels out of character for their relationship). Anyway, he mistakes Chloe for a piece of trash because is it really the first day of school if Fabian doesn’t insult Gorgug (accidentally this time. progress!) and then the bell rings. As it does, the Bad Kids look around and realize something strange: they’re Juniors now. That means more than half the kids here are younger than them now. They’re not the Freshmen they once were.

The Sorc Prof (Jace Stardiamond) is filling in as VP while Gilear is away and as he makes an announcement on the intercom, Fig almost falls into an open construction pit (a SECOND construction based incident) but is saved when she’s hit with an armful of gym equipment instead. Put that on the Faeth luck swap conspiracy board. Anyway, Jace also says that Aguefort is gonna be out so they have a new Principal: Emergency Backup Interim Principal Grix. The Bad Kids have never heard of this guy before.

In the spot where they saw Dane and Penelope campaigning to bring back Prom Court their first year, the Bad Kids now see a table for Student Gov manned by Jawbone and a minotaur student he seems to know: Mazey Phaedra–a senior and the student body prez. She’s also based on a Scottish Highland cow which isn’t important to the story but it is important to me because those cows are super cute. Riz suggests they sign up so they go talk to Mazey who seems cool: She thanks them for saving the world, she knows Ayda, and Fabian clocks later that she’s a dancer bard. All green flags.

After indulging Fabian’s ego for a bit, the squad encourages Kristen to go for President. Before she can though, she’s beaten to the punch by a halfling student with major Tracy Flick energy who introduces herself as Kipperlily Copperkettle. Kristen immediately shoots back with, “What are you, four different dogs?” which is maybe the funniest thing a Bad Kid has ever said. The Bad Kids hate her vibes on sight but Kristen especially is full aggro. Riz notices that she’s wearing a pin of a rat’s butt being grinded between two gears and when asked about it, she says it’s Ratgrinders pin–Ratgrinders being the name of her adventuring party. They ask who else is in her party and she points out Reuben–an emo, gnomish bard who is signing autographs because he’s the one who wrote the song they were listening to on the way to school (before Kristen changed it to a health and wellness podcast).

Kipperlily (who I’m gonna call KP) is told that she can sign up but she has to find time to campaign outside of her classes. She says that won’t be a problem because she’s already aced Junior Year and she slides over an envelope to Jawbone to prove it. Apparently, the way Rogue classes work here is that the students find clues and puzzles throughout the school left by the professor but they’ve never actually met them. If a student is able to find the Rogue professor, they automatically get an A for the year and, apparently, KP did just that.

Paperwork in order, KP is about to leave but Fig stops her to ask what her platform is. Her answer: “Equality, equanimity, and fairness under the rules. In the past, there has been an eccentricity to the bureaucratic and administrative decisions of the Aguefort Adventuring Academy that has favored some students over others. Very nice to meet you guys.”

As she leaves, they hate her even more.

Adaine tries out a new trick she has which allows her to see into the ethereal plane. She sees a lot of Aguefort’s wards but also the fact that the wards are porous enough to let in ghosts because one of the professors is a ghost, though they don’t know which one. She suggests to Riz that maybe the Rogue prof is a ghost. She also sees some ghost steaks in the fridge, presumably belonging to the ghost prof (btw: steak for lunch at a high school seems wild, lol).

At this point, Fabian notices Mazey’s dancing shoes (Badidas of course) and clocks that she’s a dancer bard. He talks to her about how he’s looking to multiclass and she hooks him up with a note to give to the dance class professor (Terpsicore Skullcleaver) that says he’s a good kid. She also tells him that Jem Peppercorn (the absolute legend who stayed in the gym eating for the whole Goldenhoard fight) graduated last year and he had the party house which means there’s an opening for a new party house. And Fabian has a very big, very fancy, very empty house. Kristen does an Insight check and gets a Nat 20 to clock that yeah, there’s a little bit of a flirty vibe going on. So of course, she uses Thaumaturgy to create tremors–a move I was extremely confused about at first blush but I think she was using to give Fabian an excuse to hold her or something. Clearly, she’s a more attentive Wingwoman than she is a Saint.

Anyway, conversation finished, they go to the Auditorium where Jace announced Principal Grix wanted to give a speech. Grix is a gold, warforged spellcaster with a ball comprising his lower half instead of legs. Apparently, he was created by Arthur Aguefort to take his place while he’s on vacay. He speaks in a stilted, robotic manner and gives a speech parallel to Aguefort’s day one speech about what an Adventurer is. But instead of the rambly, unhinged answer Aguefort gave, he simply gives the Dictionary definition: One who goes on adventures. And then he starts going off about order, bureaucracy, and rules.

The Bad Kids are taken aback–even rules gremlin Riz.On a 27 to clock whether he’s been hacked (because she can’t believe Aguefort would make a robot that acted like this) Adaine sees Grix steepling his fingers and saying “Perfect order” which isn’t conclusive but is def troubling! They start raising their hands and asking Jace questions about if they really have to follow rules in a hard way this year–it still is Aguefort after all–but Grix cuts in and says that the backtalk he’s getting is exactly the problem. He casts Time Stop (a 9th level spell) and the entire auditorium finds themselves in the hall, in a single file line, ten minutes before class is about to begin. Not a great start to the year! And on a dirty 20, Kristen doesn’t see KP anywhere. Suspicious!

Riz tells Fabian and Gorgug about any extra MCAT stuff they don’t already know. He also tells the group about the Frosty Folk Festival and Gorgug mentions that his parents are hosting. Fig says she wants to maybe try out some of her new songs there…once she’s written them. Fabian asks if they can take a break from hardcore Bad Kid stuff this semester and Kristen says that’s a good point because she has a campaign to focus on. Fig declares herself secret service because, of course she does. She also announces her plan to go to Bard classes…but disguised as a new persona (Tiny Emo Girlie: Wanda Childa) so she can befriend and spy on Reuben. Riz and Adaine are at the end of their collective rope.

With his free time before the bell rings, Gorgug wants to talk to Porter to sort out the MCAT stuff. Porter lays it out for him. He thinks Gorgug has amazing, raw, natural talent and he uses his rage in a really noble way to protect his friends. But he hasn't seen him reach his full destructive potential and he’s not impressed that he defeated the Night Yorb will tools and “magic” instead of rage. He would be fine if Gorgug wanted to get some Fighter levels with Ms. Jones or something else that would dovetail nicely with Barb classes, but as of now, he hasn’t seen what he needs to see to think that Artificing classes would do anything but steal focus. Gorgug can of course quit the Barb track and move to Artificing, but Porter is not giving his approval.

Meanwhile, Fabian is having a much less hostile meeting with Terpsicore (after an accidental detour to Adaine’s wizard class because he trusted Fig–who’s never been to bard class–to give him directions). Terps is this tiny (5 ft 3in) Half-Orc with crazy, hyper positive, aerobics grandma energy who immediately breaks down Fabian’s cool guy jock persona and gets him into a dance, jam sesh with her that moves through different styles of dance and music. I can’t do this scene justice, you have to watch it. Her “Uh-oh, uh-oh! Uh-oh, uh-oh! A challenger approaches!” tells you everything you need to know about her.

By the end of the dance, Fabian has fully embraced his weird art kid energy and Terps has approved Fabian for multiclassing. It’s looking like all sunshine and roses for Fabian until Terps tells him that if he’s gonna make this multiclass thing work, he needs to be really serious. Lots of rest. Lots of healthy food. And no parties. Uh-oh indeed.

Next up, we turn our attention back to Riz who’s still in the hall and tries to steal the envelope KP turned in to Jawbone to get some info about the Rogue prof. Jawbone catches him and is good natured about it but won’t let him have the envelope: not for moral reasons so much as because a good rogue has to earn it by not getting caught.

Riz asks about KP and Jawbone says she’s a good kid but kinda Type A. He asks Riz if he’s getting some “I’m in the picture and I don’t like it” energy from her and Riz denies it. Jawbone decides to give him a little bit of a hint re: the Prof and says that KP technically didn’t find the prof. The prof found KP. But he won’t say more and he would appreciate him not saying where he got the info. The main reason he’s giving the info at all is because KP was snooping and heard him talking about Kristen’s god dying. She then asked Jawbone a bunch of questions about Kristen which he answered so he figured fair’s fair with regard to giving Riz some info about her. Riz is troubled. Jawbone tells Riz that they’re due for a heart to heart but Riz says he’s good and he’s stressed but stress is good. Yikes!

Kristen is also still in the hall and finally properly signs up for class president but, as she does, she hears some familiar voices: it’s her parents, dropping her younger brother Bucky off for his first day at Aguefort. She has serious deja vu as they’re saying the same “Don’t mix with the weirdos” stuff they said to her on her first day. Kristen fails a Wisdom save and is deeply affected by watching her parents basically bullying her younger brother who she hasn’t seen in a good bit now. The last time she had any contact with them it was just to give them her dragon gold and that was over the phone. She sees that her not being in the household to shield her brothers from her parents has led to them having to take all that parental abuse and pressure alone. She goes over to confront them feeling hot under the collar and Riz senses a crackle of something in her aura.

Cass chimes in, thinking she’s been summoned, and asks if it’s a good time for them to talk and Kristen snaps at her that OBVIOUSLY it’s not a good time. Kristen feels a spasm in her body and, for the first time, Cass snaps back at her: "Fine! I can make my own people to talk to!“ Deeply concerning, but we’ll come back to that. For now, we follow Kristen as she reaches her parents and brother. Bucky immediately goes in for the hug and seems very happy to see her. Her parents, not so much and the feeling is mutual. “Second time’s the charm, hopefully” they say, tacitly deeming her a failure. She pretends to be directing traffic so she can hustle them out the door ASAP and gets a Nat 20 to do so (rolling with advantage for reasons Brennan doesn’t expound on). Bucky says he wants to talk to Kristen about something but he’s late so can they meet up after class? She says sure thing and he runs off, his longsword trailing after him.

Kristen is left alone with her parents and it’s a bit of a standoff. Her mom asks how she’s going and seems to genuinely want to know to some degree but it’s still mainly jabs about her lifestyle and choices and leaving the church. Her dad especially comes down hard on her for leaving Helio without a chosen one and becoming a cleric to a night goddess right before they were struck with four months of night which, admittedly, is a fair thing to have questions about. But Kristen has died and come back from the dead. If that can’t keep her down, her parents certainly can’t. She pirouettes away from the conversation and heads to class (because she may not be worried about her parents but she is worried about what Cass said to her).

We hop over to the second nerd of the party, Adaine, who’s in wizard classes with Professor Tiberia Runestaff who Brennan says has “Evil Lucille Bluth” energy (which is different from regular Lucille Bluth how?). She’s a friend of Aguefort’s from the Mountains of Chaos and Adaine wants to impress her so so bad.

She starts off her lesson by saying that this year is the weed out year. This is the year that separates the paltry magicians from the truly great casters. Then, she starts listing out the materials they need for this week’s castings–a list that includes TEN BARRELS OF DIAMONDS. For ONE WEEK. Adaine may come from money but she doesn’t have access to any of that money right now. She raises her hand to ask if there’s any way she could borrow some diamonds from the school or something and basically gets a harsh, “That sounds like a you problem” kind of response that she shrinks back from. Tiberia continues to list the ridiculously expensive materials needed to continue on and Adaine knows that she can’t ask Jawbone for any of this. She resolves to call Aelwyn for help during lunch.

We then move on to a Fantasy High first: Fig going to class! Although she’s not going as herself. She’s disguised as her alter ego Wanda Childa. The professor (Lucilla Lullaby who is some kind of chill Eladrin) seems to perhaps think she recognizes her before she sits down next to Reuben. She charms him by smelling of peach schnapps and cigarettes and they have a flirty emo-off before Lucilla points out that she’s 100% not on the roster and, despite the fact that it doesn’t always seem like it, this is a school with rules. This year especially! She leaves, but as she lingers to give Reuben one last look (and sniff) she notices that he has a Ratgrinder tattoo that matches KP’s pin.

As she exits Lucilla is making a call on her crystal and there’s a good chance it’s connected to the encounter Fig has when she gets to the hall. Jace Stardiamond is leading an eagle aarakocra Council of Chosen agent (think FBI) who is investigating truancy in the area and calls Fig by name–well by pseudonym anyway. He is incidentally also looking into the disappearance of Hilda Hilda. Sensing her chickens are finally coming home to roost, Fig gives a weak lie about not knowing how schools work and skateboards away, using Cutting Words to prevent Agent Clark’s attack of opportunity on her. He vows to find out who she is as she makes her escape.

Proving you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it go to bard class, Fig goes outside to spy on her class through the window instead of attending because she thought Lucilla actually seemed pretty cool. She doesn’t hide well enough though and Lucilla spots her through the window. She’s shocked to see Fig for the first time in two years and welcomes her in like she’s the prodigal son. Fig asks if it would be weird for her to attend. Lucilla assures her that it’s the opposite of weird and, in fact, mandatory.

She settles in for her first day of bard class–this semester and ever–but out of the corner of her eye, she notices a sneering Rebuen texting someone. It’s Lola Embers. Looks like they’re signed to the same label.

Finally, we hop to Kristen who’s headed to cleric class with Professor Yolanda Badgood (a wispy air genasi). Before class even starts she tells Kristen to meet her after class. We timeskip to that meeting and, like many others in this ep, she thanks Kristen for saving the world. But she has a followup question: How did she do it when her god is dead? Kristen says she has a lot going on with her estranged parents she just saw and her scattered mind and her feeling like the stairs are disappearing behind her as she climbs. She has to update her god in the files and her address for that matter because, as we learned when she talked to her parents, all her mail is still getting sent to her old address. Her professor sincerely asks her how she’s feeling and Kristen says she’s fine but asks if there’s some kind of test she can take that will tell her what god is right for her. Her professor is like, “Didn’t you just say you had a new god???” But Kristen feels so much pressure with Cass and she mainly feels annoyed by her presence. Professor Badgood says that she’s allowed to change her god as much as she wants–she herself gave up an active relationship with a divinity so she can be kind of an interfaith minister to all her students. And she says that all faiths are trying to capture a piece of the truth–even the out there ones with evil gods and such. She recommends that Kristen spend a week earnestly trying to connect with Cass and if she still feels like she wants to split she can go from there.

Kristen has a followup question: What do you do when your god says, "Fine, I'll- I'll make new followers"? Badgood seems taken aback, and she’s even more so when Kristen says she’s been rude to her god. Kristen asks if she should apologize and Professor Badgood gives her the most gracious version of, “Duh, obviously” a person can manage. She directs Kristen to one of the million prayer rooms in the class so she and Cass can talk.

Kristen actually takes this seriously–or at least more seriously than she takes most things. She clears her mind and meditates until she finds herself in the forest of Sylvaire where Cassandra is crying to herself. A bright moon that would erase any shadow or doubt encroaches. When Kristen tries to touch Cass’s shoulder, the god flinches away and sobs that Craig–her only other follower–has joined the Wolfsong Revival. Tracker’s movement.

Cass is scared. She doesn’t want to end up dead in the Astral Realm like Yes? Kristen apologizes and says that she understands that she’s getting to point where chaos isn’t cute anymore. She follows that up by saying that her top two priorities are Cass and her student president campaign however so I don’t know how committed she is to being serious. Cass isn’t either because she flat out states that she can’t rely on Kristen. She’s so so lonely and she’s confused about why things aren’t working out. They started out so big and magical and they’re still so stuck. She thought it might be because of her somehow but then she learned about the trail of abandoned gods in Kristen’s wake and realized that *she* was the connecting factor, something that Kristen cops to verbally: “It’s me,” she says.

Cass announces that she’s getting some help and Kristen asks who. A cleric? Nope. No clerics for now. She just wanted a friend. Kristen sees her petting something invisible and asks if it’s a dog.

“I’m more of a cat person,” Cass says as a black cat fades into view.

“Hi Kristen,” Kalina says.

And that’s where we end our ep!!!! The bitch is back!!!!

Riz for Thinking Of All His Friends

In Sophomore Year there was a thing with Riz’s dad where it was like, sometimes you show your love through work and, viewed through that lens, Riz *really* loves his friends. I recognize that the likelihood of his meticulous plan actually working is slim to none and he’ll have to accept that even if they all stay really close friends (which they better), they’re likely on at least slightly different life paths, I do think it’s really sweet that he’s putting so much effort into making sure that ALL of his friends are successful by the metric that he’s using. Also, the “Hi Adaine :)” binder for her was so cute. I love nerd friendship.

Random Thoughts

In the AP for this ep, Emily mentioned some cool warlock thing that might be worth taking the MCAT for and officially registering (she’s currently off the books multiclassing) but it’s never mentioned in the actual episode so I assume it got snipped away in editing.

I really love how polite Adaine is to anyone who hasn’t earned her scorn and the little moment of her taking a reasonable amount of food from the trashbag Lydia offered her and thanking her was very endearing to me.

Zac is very quick on his feet and Chloe is a GREAT save for Cloaca but it is ABSOLUTELY not gonna be what anyone calls that bird but me and him.

When Jace said over the intercom that Sorc classes are just talking about how fun and easy magic is, I’m surprised Adaine have anything snarky to say about that, lol. *I* had a comment and I don’t even go to that school.

Is anyone else getting like…Santa Clause 2 energy from the Grix situation? If that ends up being the vibe then that’s super funny because iirc Santa Clause 1 was ref’d a bunch with the oracle stuff in Freshman Year. Full circle baybee.

KP seems like she is springing into existence to fill the voice left by Penny Luckstone getting her GED and leaving. They’re like on the exact same level of one axis of a cartesian plane but on opposite sides. Both at 100% intensity but vibes in opposite directions.

I kinda wanna add a poll to this post that’s like, what is the crazier story? Mermaid reproduction with the Thistlesprings or snapping turtle man with gun up his secret cloaca story with Jawbone?

OK, so what are we thinking about the Ratgrinders? Is that a ref to grinding rats for XP or more how they see other people/what they’re going to do to people who get in their way? KP is obviously very rules focused but in a Lawful Annoying way. I do think it’s interesting though. Have any of you guys ever seen the Community episode where it turns out everyone at Greendale hates the gang because they have major main character syndrome and are always forcing everyone else at school to accommodate their flights of fancy (a perfectly reasonable reason to have beef with people)? I’m wondering if there’s a bit of that energy happening here. Either way, this strikes me as a party that’s interested in exploiting loopholes and such for maximum efficiency (eg: finding the rogue prof for instant straight A’s) and that’s a different kind of maverick behavior than what the Bad Kids do which is go buckwild, breaking rules if necessary, but getting real results. It’s like the BK’s are Aguefort’s perfect party and I’m suspecting the RG’s are Grix’s. Speaking of–

A FH concept I had ages ago was rival adventuring party to the main group which has like, bizarro versions of everyone. And we may be getting that! We have an emo bard to contrast Fig’s punk rocker energy. And a rules follower (derogatory) rogue to contrast Riz who is also a rules follower (blessed). Very curious to see the rest of their party! And very curious to know if they’re Bad (™) or just annoying in a high school way. Sometimes people just don’t vibe with you.

Oh, a specific concern that I have: KP specifically asked where Kristen was able to create a god. I don’t think that’s info I want a super type A person I don’t trust to have.

Very sweet that Jawbone’s immediate instinct when he thinks an earthquake is happening is to bodily shield Fig and Adaine, his two kind daughter-figures in the Bad Kids.

Kristen says that Cass is a hard sell but I have to disagree. Look at this flyer. It looks convincing to me!

“I think songs can accomplish a lot, if you let yourself hear the music.” Gorgug :( He’s gonna show Porter this season. I just know it. I believe in you Spring Break!

Love Murph throwing in the Frosty Folk thing apropos of basically nothing just to make sure they had an in-character reason to all know about that for later, just in case. Info management! Important!

I remember Bucky being a lot younger but either I’m confusing him for one of her other two brothers or it got retconned (or Quangled lol) older to make this storyline work. Very interesting that he went in for the hug, not the other way around. Seems like at least one person missed her. With his longsword and his parents’ inclinations, it seems like he’s most likely a Helioic Paladin. I’m very interested in how they’re going to treat his relationship with Helio because even though Kristen rejected him and we’ve seen that he has some followers that range from just shitty (K’s parents) to downright culty (the Harvestmen), that doesn’t mean that all of his followers are like that and we’ve never actually seen Helio be anything but pretty chill when he’s appeared. He wants to talk to Kristen about something and my conspiracy theory brain is wondering if he was asked to be Helio’s new chosen one but he hasn’t told anyone yet. That would be very interesting and I’d like to see a storyline about the tension of K and her brother having very different relationships with the same god. The chill peace and love god might have been a great person for him to turn to in absence of his one lifeline in the house leaving. But it could also be tons of other things so we’ll see.

Wild that Kristen has pissed off or abandoned every member of that godly family (Sol, Helio, Galicaea, and Cass). She really is the constant here.

Ally says Kristen is wearing an Adidas tracksuit meaning that this world canonically has both Adidas and Badidas.

It’s a funny moment when Terps is like, “Is there harm in your life? ”to Fabian when he mentions eating food out of a trash bag but like, the kid isn’t doing *great*. Def some neglect happening and he said he was wearing yesterday’s clothes and still banged up from the Night Yorb fight. If I was a teacher, I’d have questions too!

Yolanda Badgood. Terpsichore Skullcleaver. Lucilla Lullaby. Most of these professors are named like My Little Ponies and I love it.

When Lucilla say “Wanda” it seems like she briefly (correctly) thought it was Fig which is funny because it paints the picture that she’s been actively waiting on pins and needles for her to show up for the past two years. It’s funny because she’s not a missing person. She’s highly visible both from saving the world and being a rockstar AND both of her dads work at your school! Just get in touch!

Really hope Adaine follows up on the Aelwyn conversation because I wanna see two kids raised in old money discuss the price of ten barrels of diamonds.

day 16 - does hair and makeup have any focus in your coords?

this is a very fun question ive actually thought a lot about!! as im very obviously black and have very textured hair as ive progressed in lolita my hair has had more and more of a role, even if i just have it out! ive noticed as ive given more focus to what i like about my hair and grown my confidence with that side of me ive gotten happier with my coords and i love doing cute stuff with my hair!! makeup is iffy considering i just started wearing it as a junior so kinda late for a lot of teenagers now! im honestly just super anxious about breaking out because i love my skin so much so im not a very makeup-y person, but i wear blush and some kind of lip gloss (or vaseline) with like every once in a while some very poorly put on eyeshadow (੭꒦ິ ^꒦ິ)੭ (side note if anyone has any makeup advice slide it my way please.)

please please please do not let anyone make you feel bad about your textured hair - i mean your hair in general but especially if you have coily hair like me!! some of my best experiences in lolita have been with older black women and young girls who were/are insecure about their hair and seeing me looking like a pretty princess and embracing my hair with such a beautiful style made them feel confident!! i was bullied really bad about my hair in elementary through middle school and i promise you it will get better - the best thing you can do is love your hair and not let people get to you about it (i can also make a post with some examples of things i do with my hair if that'd be helpful) <𝟑 .ᐟ

// I DID IT!!

hii!

so ive been in the manifesting community since early 2023 but took a super super super long break, and officially got back into it and wanted to apply it literally a few days before 2024 ended (it was off and on before).

i really really wanted one specific desire of mine to come to fruition so i kept “trying”. however, throughout these “tries”, doubts took over and i just gave up.

i stopped focusing on that specific manifestation and decided to go through the basics again and i watched some videos and followed a few different people and only read their posts, and i decided to “try” to apply the law again.

i started affirming, and my desired best friend, we can all him “Brayden”, was with his og friend group for the first couple days, which is basically a bunch of toxic juniors (there’s one person who used to be friends with them in my friend group and she has told us a few things about them that are honestly kind of sad). however, i kept affirming that the 3D just hasn’t caught up yet and that i already have my desires.

day three, he started talking to us.

i literally cannot describe how excited i was even if it was just for a lunch period, which is only around a half hour. also twice a week we have a study hall but it’s basically a free period as long as you’re in the classroom for 30 minutes 😭😭. brayden also studied with us during an actual study time we were given a period before our literature final.

day four he sat with us again and it was the free period day and he talked with us during the free period. he stilled seemed to talk to his og friend group but after talking with us for two days i was really confident.

day five, which was yesterday, he sat with us *again* and just me, him, and another one of my friends talked afterschool since Fridays we get out 30 minutes earlier than usual. he seemed to be a little more driven away from his og friend group but was still talking to them, but once again, i was confident.

i want a little more but honestly im just really excited to see the 3D conform more and more!! and it’s also really nice to see him away from a toxic friend group.

one more little thing i manifested was a 95% or higher on all my finals. i just found out that i got full marks on a literature final (first one we did), and i still have 5 more left that have to be graded. ill update when they’re all posted 🤍🤍

Star Navigation 2023 Episode 4 and Best of the Super Junior Night Three Predictions

We're going to be in for quite the ride on Sunday May 14th. The reason...Korakuen Hall...AXIZ reunites while over in Nagoya...a rematch that took place at the finals of the 2023 New Japan Cup will be seen.

AXIZ reunites this Sunday in Korakuen Hall as part of the "Star Navigation 2023" series starting at 5:00 AM Eastern on ABEMA in Japanese and Wrestle Universe in English.

Meanwhile, it'll be night three of the "Best of Super Junior 30" coming from Nagoya with the event starting at 4:00 AM Eastern on NJPW World in both English and Japanese.

Eight Matches will be contested (2 of them singles) in Korakuen Hall for "Star Navigation" while 10 Block matches will be contested in Nagoya for "Best of the Super Junior 30".

Now..who will win each match that is presented. Well, the interesting thing is that predictions will be in a interesting type of format. Since "Best of Super Junior 30" is on before "Star Navigation" we'll start off by predicting their first three matches.

"Best of the Super Junior 30" Opening Match: Kevin Knight vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru: Considering how Kevin's BOSJ has started, one will have to think he'll need something to win if he's not victorious over Yoshinobu Kanemaru. Be interesting to see this one but I see Kevin going scoreless here.

"Best of the Super Junior 30" Match #2: Ryusuke Taguchi vs. SHO: Many will already know who'll win this match and it's a sad fact. On the plus side, at least SHO's match is so early we can all skip it.

"Best of the Super Junior 30" Match #3: BUSHI vs. Clark Connors: Now...I predicted that Clark was going to fall to Robbie Eagles while I predicted BUSHI to win over Desperado. Should those predictions come true, I expect Clark to bounce back and win this won. If these predictions are wrong, I expect Clark to win. I'm just hoping he doesn't do any of the post-match stuff he did to Kevin Knight. We don't need it in this tournament.

Now...let's predict the first three matches from "Star Navigation 2023" in which these matches may be easy for me to predict. Then again...maybe not. Anyway, here we go with the first three match predictions for "Start Navigation 2023"

"Star Navigation 2023" Opening Match: Lancelot, Alejandro, Junta Miyawaki, and AMAKUSA vs. Xtreme Tiger, Super Crazy, Dragon Bane, and Alpha Wolf - I expect insanity in this opening bout with the Lucadors from Mexico emerging victorious.

"Star Navigation 2023" Match #2: Shuhei Taniguchi vs. Stallion Rogers - I do my best to like Shuhei Taniguchi but I feel like unless he becomes a true character, he won't pass himself as a wrestler. Meanwhile, Stallion Rogers is one wrestler to look out for. My predicted winner here will be Shuhei Taniguchi but I really need something more from him.

"Star Navigation Navigation 2023" Match #3: Chris Ridgeway and Daga vs. Hajime Ohara and Hi69 - Considering the state that both Stinger and KONGOH are in now, both will need a huge win in Korakuen Hall. I expect Stinger to emerge victorious in what I think will be a horrible night for KONGOH.

Now...let's head back to "Best of Super Junior 30" and predict the winners for matches 4 and 5.

"Best of Super Junior 30" Match #4: DOUKI vs. Taiji Ishimori - Crazy that Ishimori will go early on night one, late on night two, and early on night three. Is this because he wants to watch the AXIZ reunion? Interesting fact, some of Ishimori's entrance attire in the last 2 years resembled that of AXIZ in some way. Whatever the reason is here, I expect Ishimori to pull a fast one over DOUKI.

"Best of Super Junior 30" Match #5: Robbie Eagles vs. Francesco Akira - My prediction on this match is Robbie will remain perfect for at least one more match. He goes over Francesco Akira.

Now...let's get back to "Star Navigation 2023" with the prediction to their fourth match.

"Star Navigation 2023" Match #4: Hideaki Suzuki, Timothy Thatcher, and Saxon Huxley vs. Daiki Inaba, Yoshiki Inamura, and Masa Kitamiya - Considering that the new GHC Tag Champions will be looking for their first challengers, I don't expect it to come from this match. I expect domination from REAL with them most likely pinning Daiki Inaba.

We are now at the halfway mark for both events where it's time to predict the winners for Matches 6-8 from "Best of the Super Junior 30" and Matches 5-6 from "Star Navigation 2023"

"Best of the Super Junior 30" Match #6: KUSHIDA vs. Titan - Here I have Titan coming in undefeated against KUSHIDA where I have him winning over TJP. As for who I got winning here, going with an upset special. Titan starts his "Best of Super Junior 30" campaign 3-0.

"Star Navigation 2023" Match #5: Dante Leon and Sean Legacy vs. Naomichi Marufuji and HAYATA - First time we'll be seeing Dante Leon in a long time. For HAYATA, one thing to call out Ninja Mack but to call out Dante Leon...totally different story. Would be very careful if I'm HAYATA. I expect Dante to pin HAYATA here with the GHC Junior Champion thinking how to beat someone that'll do whatever it takes to win a title match. We all saw what Dante did to Ninja Mack back in November 2022. Fear deja vu could rear its ugly head.

"Best of the Super Junior 30" Match #7: YOH vs. Dan Moloney - Based on how I have these 2 predicted going into this match, I expect YOH to finally kick it into high gear. If YOH doesn't beat Master Wato, I expect this match here where YOH gets on the board.

"Star Navigation 2023" Match #6: Yoshinari Ogawa vs. Eita - Oh Boy! A non-block Junior match between two bitter rivals. Honestly can't predict a winner here but if I was able to, I see Eita winning but like Clark Connors, I expect Yoshinari Ogawa to have the final word.

"Best of the Super Junior 30" Match #8: TJP vs. Mike Bailey - Should my predictions prove to be right here, this match here is where I expect TJP to get on the board. The momentum of that win over the IWGP Junior Champion and 4-time BOSJ winner could overwhelm Mike Bailey. Expect TJP to get on the board.

Now...we are now at the semi-main event matches for both shows. Here we go with the predictions for these two.

"Star Navigation 2023" Semi-Main Event Match: Jake Lee, Anthony Green, Tadasuke, and YO-HEY vs. Takashi Sugiura, Kaito Kiyomiya, Atsushi Kotoge, and Seiki Yoshioka - Intriguing match here considering no one came out to challenge Jake Lee for the GHC Heavyweight Championship. I expect the challenger to come from this match here and I expect that challenger to be Takashi Sugiura. Expect Sugiura with the win by pinning Jake Lee, something no one has yet to accomplish during his Pro Wrestling NOAH stint.

"Best of the Super Junior 30" Semi-Main Event Match: El Desperado vs. Master Wato - My prediction on this is that El Desperado will walk into this match winless while Master Wato will have a 2-0 edge. Something tells me El Desperado will go 0-3 here and will win his last 6 matches of the tournament. Master Wato stays undefeated.

Now...time to predict the Main Event matches for "Best of the Super Junior 30" Night 3 from Nagoya and "Star Navigation 2023" from Korakuen Hall.

"Best of the Super Junior" Main Event Match: Lio Rush vs. Hiromu Takahashi - a rematch from the finals of the 2023 New Japan Cup where back then it was the semi-main. In Nagoya, it's the main event. Title's not on the line yet 2 points are. Many back in March expected Lio Rush to emerge victorious. Sadly, he was unable to. Here...well, this is harder to predict than the "Star Navigation 2023" main event. Believe it or not, this rematch is going to go the full 30-minutes. I'm expecting a time-limit draw here.

"Star Navigation 2023" Main Event Match: Katsuhiko Nakajima and Go Shiozaki vs. Kenoh and Manabu Soya - one of the most anticipated reunions has finally arrived. The last reunion I watched live from Korakuen Hall took place back in February 2018 when the Golden Lovers reunite as part of a 2-night collaboration event between NJPW and ROH. This reunion of AXIZ is taking place here only once this month with two more matches coming in Kobe and Niigata. This will be our only chance to see them LIVE this month. Their opponents is an interesting one because as of right now, Kenoh and Manabu Soya are the reigning AJPW World Tag Team Champions with a defense coming up in Kobe. Considering that this is the only buildup match for Nakajima/Kenoh coming up on May 31st and the fact that Nakajima reunited with AXIZ because he felt Kenoh didn't need him anymore, I'm expecting him to prove that here. AXIZ will emerge victorious with Kenoh getting pinned. However, should Kenoh and Manabu Soya emerge victorious, I expect the same thing that happened to Kenoh on April 29th to happen here again. Still...going with AXIZ for the win in their first match since August 30, 2020.
