Best Supplements for Joint Pain: All-Natural Solutions for a Life Without Pain
Tumblr media
In joints, numerous people globally endure pain that may be hindering. This may arise due to aging, injuries, or even arthritis thus it is essential to find effective ways of alleviating them to avoid low quality of life. Supplements are increasingly seen as safe substitutes for harmful conventional drugs, even though there are many different treatment modalities available. This blog delves into some of the best supplements for joint health and how they may assist in daily activities to make them comfortable and more active.
Glucosamine :- Among the identified supplements used for joint discomfort, especially with osteoarthritis, is glucosamine. It’s an organic substance found in cartilage that supports joints. The best glucosamine chondroitin for joint supplements enhances damaged cartilage repair, reduces inflammation, eases pain, and enhances healing. In several researches glucosamine has been proven to improve joint function while decreasing osteoarthritis symptoms; thus it is preferred by many individuals who seek the best supplement for their joint pains.
Chondroitin Sulfate :- Another vital component of cartilage is chondroitin sulphate, which often works together with glucosamine. Water level maintenance is managed to keep cartilage's elasticity and health. The studies indicate that chondroitin may increase the movement of joints, reduce pain as well as inflammation respectively, and retard the progression of osteoarthritis. Some patients have found chondroitin and glucosamine to alleviate joint pain notably.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids :- One among the substances in fish oil such as Omega-3 fatty acids is known to have anti-inflammatory properties. It can reduce stiffness and rigidity in joints, especially for people with rheumatoid arthritis. Through inhibiting the formation of substances that incite inflammation, Omega-3s function on this front. You can incorporate fish oil supplements or consume more fatty fishes like salmon, mackerel, and sardines which have numerous advantages making them among the best natural joint pain supplements.
Turmeric (Curcumin) :- The strongest anti-inflammatory and antioxidant constituents in turmeric are commonly utilized in Indian dishes. In cases of rheumatoid or osteoarthritis, curcumin could be effective in reducing pain and swelling.  It’s worth noting that consuming food enriched with turmeric or even using turmeric supplements could help deal with joint problems. There are numerous joint support supplements online such as those made from turmeric which can be considered good options if you need something to support your joints.
Boswellia Serrata :- Indian frankincense, or Boswellia serrata, has been utilised for generations in traditional medicine to treat inflammatory diseases. The active ingredients of boswellia, known as boswellic acids, have been shown to lessen joint discomfort and inflammation. As claimed by some researchers, this plant can be equal in efficacy to NSAIDs when it comes to relieving joint pains without causing any side effects. It is for this reason that Boswellia is frequently among the best joint support supplements available online.
Collagen :- The health and integrity of cartilage, tendons, and ligaments depend largely on collagen as a protein. Joint pain and stiffness occur due to decreased production of collagen as we age. The body’s collagen levels can be replenished by taking collagen supplements which improve affected joints’ health while reducing their pains. For joint pain relief, hydrolyzed collagen is especially helpful since it is easier for the body to absorb.
MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) :- MSM illustrates a compound with sulfur that possesses islands of anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving impact. It is frequently used alongside glucosamine and chondroitin to improve their performance. For people suffering from osteoarthritis or any other bone diseases, MSM can alleviate inflammation, increase the range of motion in the joints, and reduce joint discomfort. With these benefits, it's the best supplement choice for anybody searching for the best glucosamine chondroitin for joints.
Conclusion :- The pain in joints can affect daily life but the appropriate supplements have been known to provide easy solutions for such problems naturally. At KMK, we provide supplements meant to make joint movements easier and less painful. There is a wide range of other items that are helpful to people suffering from joint pains. For instance, glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate, omega-3 fatty acids, turmeric, Boswellia serrata, collagen, and MSM are some of the best joint supplements to relieve joint aches. Therefore it is important not only to keep fit but also to use these supplements to lead an active life without experiencing any joint discomforts ever again! So, give your joints the power with their supplements and enjoy a more active and pain-free life.

Sweet Success: My Experience with Bio Heal Keto + ACV Gummies
Tumblr media
I used to be skeptical of dietary supplements, but after a recommendation from a trusted family friend, I decided to give Bio Heal Keto + ACV Gummies a try. My friend, who's been on a successful keto journey, raved about the gummies' potential to boost weight loss and energy levels. Here's my honest experience with this innovative supplement.
Deliciously Convenient Keto Support:
One of the biggest appeals of Bio Heal Keto + ACV Gummies was their convenience. Unlike bulky pills or messy powders, these gummies are a delightful treat. They come in a variety of flavors, and I personally found them quite enjoyable. This made adhering to the recommended dosage a breeze, unlike some supplements I've struggled with in the past.
Increased Energy and Focus:
Within a couple of weeks of incorporating Bio Heal Keto + ACV Gummies into my routine, I noticed a significant increase in my energy levels. That afternoon slump I used to experience was greatly diminished. I felt more focused throughout the day, allowing me to be more productive at work and have the energy to enjoy activities after work.
Appetite Control and Potential Weight Loss:
Another positive change I observed was a curbing of my appetite. The gummies seemed to help me feel fuller for longer, which led to a decrease in unhealthy snacking. This, combined with the increased energy, motivated me to stick to my keto diet plan more consistently. While I can't say for certain it was solely the gummies, I did experience some weight loss during the time I was taking them.
Natural Ingredients and Transparency:
Bio Heal emphasizes the use of natural ingredients in their gummies, which is important to me. I appreciate the transparency on their website, which lists all the ingredients and their potential benefits. This made me feel confident about what I was putting into my body.
Important Considerations:
It's important to remember that individual results may vary. While I had a positive experience with Bio Heal Keto + ACV Gummies, it's not a magic bullet. A healthy diet and regular exercise are still crucial for weight loss and overall well-being. Additionally, it's always a good idea to consult with your doctor before starting any new supplement, especially if you have any pre-existing health conditions.
**Overall, I would highly recommend Bio Heal Keto + ACV Gummies to anyone looking for a convenient and potentially beneficial addition to their keto journey. The delicious taste, increased energy, and potential appetite control were all welcome improvements to my experience.

💖 NUTRITION & WELLBEING EDITION - 10 WEEKS UNTIL 2025 - GLOW UP SERIES [WEEK 10] - 💖
So we’re 10 weeks till 2025, the new year is fast approaching, your energy levels are in the gutter and despite mentally wanting to change your life there’s just something keeping you stuck. You wake up and it’s the same story different day, tired, hungry, moody as hell.
While you might mentally want to change your life, your body needs to be on board and to do that it’s gona need the right foods, drinks and nutrients to have you functioning at your optimal level. Taking drastic action when it comes to changing your diet is how you’re going to see drastic results in your energy levels, productivity and overall wellbeing…
The foundations:
🛌 SLEEP: All those late night movies before bed, Netflix and chill, love-is-blind binging needs to stop immediately. You need a set bed time and you need to be consistent. Waking up and going to sleep at the exact same time every single day. I recommend 10pm - 6am or somewhere around there.
🥱 Sleep with your mouth closed. Use mouth strips from amazon if you dribble, snore, or struggle to sleep properly - breathing through your mouth is most likely the culprit. It’s not natural and disturbs natures rhythm which is breathing through your nose. Mouth strips have been a game changer for me, and highly recommended.
🚫 No screen before bed. This is obvious but those doom scrolling morning and nights are over. Switch it off, read a book, pray, meditate, do what you need to. This is about resting your body before bed so you can sleep well and function at your best the next day.
Sleep supplements: Magnesium oil spray or tablets before bed
🍴 FOODS & DRINKS: 2 litres water MINIMUM per day. Absolutely no alcohol for the next 10 weeks. Strict diet of vegetables, fruits, protein and healthy fats, high quality meats and fish. More herbs into your food. Seeds, whole grains such as Chia, Flaxseed, Pumpkin seed, Bulgar wheat. More pre-and-probiotics. Sprouted veggies. Snack on nuts. No sweets, no cakes, no carbs. No bread, no pasta, no rice, no gluten. No nothing that is not a whole food, or from the earth. You are your own doctor when it comes to food, so you will know what is best for you. Above is the closest diet to nature and has changed my life. Eating vegetables in season. Removing western foods, removing vegetable oil, only drinking structured water, herb teas, and freshly pressed veg juices. Changing your diet might mean you stop eating out, you cut the takeouts, you spend your evenings researching meal preps for Keto, or healthy diet. Your life will completely change when you start feeding your body ALIVE foods, instead of nutrient deficient, processed food that keeps you craving more. Yes you are going against the grain. You will be the minority, but what are the alternatives? Stay binging? Stay eating crap? Stay feeling crap?
Supplements:
Chronium, Berberine for support with blood sugar
D3 + K2, B12, Vitamin C 1000mg, Turmeric, Probiotics,
DIM, Milk Thistle, Selenium, Iodine Drops, Omega 3, Mega GLA for women’s health.
Other:
Get full blood panel done to see any deficiencies
Invest in a continuous glucose monitor from Amazon - see how your body is responding to foods you are eating in real time.
🏃🏽‍♀️EXERCISE: There is no way around this. You need to do some fucking exercise. Even if you start with 10k steps per day. Just do it. Once you’ve switched up your diet you absolutely WILL have more energy. Join a gym, set the intention, put reminders on your phone affirming you ARE someone whoo does exercise and works out. Leave your gym clothes out before bed. Set yourself up to win. Find a friend or someone to work out with. Look on YouTube for a workout if the gym is not possible. Just try your best. This is a mind over matter. ~You got this.
🧘🏽‍♀️ Finally…STRESS FREE LIVING…
You can eat all the healthy foods, do your 10k steps but if you are involved in a stressful life, those stress hormones are going to come and f**k shit up. You have to remove stress where possible. This is the NUMBER one health destroyer. Stress literally makes is ill. It depletes your energy, exhausts you, and keeps you in survival - not much different to the animals living in the wild. Your life can be so stress free once you realise you are actually in control of a lot more than you realise. Blocking HIM. Saying no to hanging out with HER. Hanging up the phone. Removing yourself from the drama. Quitting your job. Changing your course. Deleting social media. Switching off the news permanently. Distancing yourself. There is SO much you can do to remove stress. But it’s completely on you. You have to take control if you are serious about changing your life.
That’s all for this week! Next week more advice on your pre-2025 glow-up.

would azumarill be a good pet?
Tumblr media
Azumarills would indeed make good pets! Just like their pre-evolution, these pokémon need access to water to play in but have exceptional ease-of-care otherwise, plus they’re super friendly!
They may be on the larger size for a house-pet, but certainly not to an unreasonable level. As I already mentioned, azumarills are big fans of water. Wild azumarills are happy wherever they can find freshwater, like rivers, ponds and lakes (Gold, Diamond). They spend most of their time in the water (Emerald), doing everything from hunting for food (Gold, Ruby), hiding from predators (Crystal), or even sunbathing (Sword). Thankfully, they don’t seem to be too picky and don’t necessarily need water to survive, so finding a way to get them some daily or almost-daily water time shouldn’t be beyond the means of too many owners. If you have a pool, private or public, or live near a natural body of fresh water, you should be covered. Now, if you live somewhere that gets really cold during part of the year, it might get a little trickier. Here’s the good news, though: many azumarills have the ability Thick Fat, which makes them resistant to cold temperatures: so long as the water doesn’t freeze solid they should be happy. I’d recommend reaching out to water-type owner communities in your area, they probably know the best places to get your azumarill some water time.
These pokémon get along well with humans and pokémon, giving them just the right temperance to be a good pet. Wild azumarills are known to pay specific attention to the safety of those around them: azumarills have been reported using their ability to make balloons out of air to rescue drowning pokémon (Sapphire) and often attach these balloons to playing marills around them just in case (Shield). If you’re a lifeguard, you might find just the right partner in an azumarill! These pokémon are highly energetic, so they would fit best in a high-energy home. Despite their goofy look, these pokémon are avid hunters, using their keen sense of hearing to track down prey in fast-moving rivers (Gold, Ruby). This means you will need to offer your azumarill with plenty of toys and high-energy activities to engage in to supplement this behavior in a home environment.
While not violent towards humans by nature, azumarills are no pushovers. Moves like Hydro Pump, Double-Edge, and Superpower pack quite a punch, and Bounce is always a move we look out for. As far as their score goes, though, the detriment of these moves are counterbalanced somewhat by moves like Aqua Ring, a self-healing move that may let you cut down on veterinary bills. While you should never underestimate how dangerous an angry azumarill could be, solid training and awareness of their move should negate much of the risk associated with adopting one. Just be careful that they don’t get too rough when you’re playing!
Overall, while there are a couple of drawbacks regarding this pokémon if you don’t have access to water for them to play in, these pokémon make a pretty good pet. I would recommend starting with a marill if possible, however, as their smaller size and weaker moves make them a better fit for most beginner water-type owners.

self care based on your chart
I talked about the signs and houses connection to body parts and many of you requested this post. These are ways to do your self-care using your chart, the signs, and planetary placements and aspects. The same concept can be applied using simple self-love practices in other areas of life too.
✧ notes
I recommend you look at your transits chart or solar return as well to better know the best self-care practices at the time. You can base your general self-care on your natal chart but the transits can tell you the best times to take action or avoid taking action on something significant.
Look for the planets placements and their aspects, mainly if in the angular houses or make many significant aspects. Like I mentioned before I got so much dental work done when saturn was in the 10th, conjunct my mc and opposite north node, it was expensive but I was able to afford it.
You can also consider the degrees if you're feeling extra, in your natal chart and your solar return. Degrees can be associated with signs, so they can be simply linked to the areas they rule.
Planets rule things related to body parts like diseases or accidents and influence certain parts of the body depending on the aspects they make. Also two planets can influence the same body parts.
✧ SIGNS
Aries/1st house - head, face, brain, eyes
— Prone to headaches so get quality sleep, wash your hair often, and do wash your makeup, nothing heavy on the head. Exercise and workout in general helps release any pent-up energy or stress. Take good care of your eyes, sunglasses, eye drops, natural eye products/makeup. Keep your brain healthy. Foods and supplements that regulate your energy levels. Head massages, soft pillows, facemasks, frequent haircuts, breathing exercises, get enough brain oxygen. Fast thinkers and can have racing thoughts, so journaling, running, meditating can help. Release anger in healthy ways.
Taurus/2nd house - neck, ears, throat, thyroid
— The senses can be heightened so make sure your environment is comfortable, the temperature, the sounds, scents, fabrics, the food, arrange it like it's a visions board. Coffee, tea, warm soups, breads and oats, and warm herbal drinks that work for you. Can cling to that one thing they like, so do change your diet from time to time to get different nutrient. Renew your clothes, make your space cozy. Neck massages, aromatherapy, and body relaxation methods. Singing or writing, chill playlists, comfy places and peaceful walks. Cooking your own food can be therapeutic and healing for you.
Gemini/3rd house - arms, hands, lungs, shoulders
— Tend to be anxious and restless, since it also rules the nervous system and is ruled by mercury, so the mind is central. Can't stress it enough, but writing,  journaling, speaking just getting your thoughts out. Since the mind is always active, look for ways to release that mental energy. Cardio, pilates, fast sports, board games, socialising. Can have fast metabolism and lean long body parts so accustom your diet and exercise based on that. Massage your shoulders, read a book, and do stretch regularly. Honestly..  joke around, taking all those thoughts seriously is no good. DO YO NAILLS 💅
Cancer/4th house - chest, breast, stomach, womb
— Ruled by the moon, get a healthy outlet for your emotions, accept your emotions, write, speak up, cry when you need, watch something funny, your comfort show, make yourself laugh. Check your hormones regularly, find a good diet for stomach health, whole grains and high-fiber foods, take your digestive supplements. Do yoga, stomach exercises, breathing exercises. Drink lots of water. Choose your friends wisely, find people you trust. Make your bedroom comfy, invest in a quality bed, get yourself comfy clothes. Cooking your own food is again a self love thing to do, baking, homey places, nature and quiet places. Get you a furr baby.
Leo/5th house - heart, spine, spinal column, upper back
— Ruled by the sun, go out more and get your vitamin d. Choose heart-healthy foods, leafy greens and soluble fiber foods and supplements. Check your heart health and blood pressure. Do exercises that work for both your heart, your upper back and shoulders, aerobic exercises, fun sports and activities. You can be generous to everyone but be generous to yourself too, buy yourself gifts, spoil yourself. Do a full hair and skin routine, find a hobby, watch shows that inspire you, make your inner child happy. Embrace you emotions, your skills, pursue your passions, be expressive and go out for adventures.
Virgo/6th house - abdomen, digestive system, intestines, spleen
— Listen to your body and keep adjusting your diet and routine to fit your needs. Your body can be just as picky, so be mindful of the food you consume, of any allergies or foods that are hard to digest. Get your digestive supplements and enzymes, do your research. Choose gut-healthy foods and the best times to eat for you. Go for a nature walk, exercise to release any pent-up stress, cardio or pilates. Get indoors plants or plant them yourself. Spend time with pets. Make your own natural medicine that works for you, even if as simple as tea. Read a book, journal to organize your thoughts, keep your space clean. Reward yourself and acknowledge your efforts and progress.
Libra/7th house - kidneys, lower back, bladder, buttocks
— Find a way to maintain a balanced lifestyle that works for you. Add a variety of nutrients to your diet, foods for healthy kidneys to make that skin glow, antioxidant foods and supplements. Keep your kidneys and bladder healthy. Lower body and buttocks exercises, strength training, dancing, going out for walks. Decorate and beautify your own place, try new recipes, go for a picnic. How you feel is more important than how you look, make yourself feel pretty, do a skincare routine, create a vision board, romanticize your life. Be the person you want to love and identify your own opinions from those of others, yours matter.
Scorpio/8th house - genitals, colon, urethra, reproductive system
— With all those transformative energies, change what you consume to fulfill your changed needs, feeding your body and mind the proper nutrients. Maintain healthy reproductive organs and balanced hormones, do your check ups. Maintain healthy guts, fiber and antioxidant rich foods, high vitamin drinks, herbal medicine can be beneficial too. Lower body and muscle exercises, stretch regularly, breath and meditate to calm your mind. Invest in quality skincare and unscented hygiene products. Journal, write your reflections, your progress and goals, positive affirmations, light your great scented candles and watch a funny show.
Sagittarius/9th house - thighs, hips, liver, legs
— Go out and wander around, exploring new places, foods, and random things will light you up, you know it. Find a diet that works for your energy levels, protein rich foods and shakes, citrus and greens, simple nutritious meals. Watch out for any leg injuries. Go out for running, do leg exercises, muscle building, any outdoors sports. Write a bucket list, update your wishes list, go for mini solo adventures, speak to the locals when you travel, learn new words, find authentic travel souvenirs. Listen to a podcast or watch a documentary, keep a positive outlook on your future, positive environment and self-talk.
Capricorn/10th house - bones, joints, knees, skin, hair
— Can get caught up in doing or not doing things, so allow yourself to both be active and rest when you need. Find foods and supplements that are good for bone strength and joint health, calcium and magnesium rich foods, going out and getting your vitamin d is good for both your skin and bones. Going for morning runs, muscle building workouts, chiropractic-approved exercises and stretches, any leg sports. Invest in skincare and dental care. Write down things like goals, tasks list, and self development notes. Watch things that motivate you and light you up, acknowledge how far you’ve come.
Aquarius/11th house - ankles, calfs, achilles, circulatory system
— Can be very future focused, so do protect your hopes and find an outlet to express them but enjoy the present as it is. Add water-rich foods to your diet, foods that help the blood flow like fatty fish, avocados and other circulation boosters or supplements. Exercises that improve circulation like jogging, cycling, cardio, dancing, swimming. Find ways to express your ideas of the world and fantasies, music can put you in that creative energy, meditation, talking to a friend. Take a long bath, light some candles, write down your ideas, your hopes and dreams, your thoughts and what you're grateful for.
Pisces/12th house - feet, toes, pineal gland, lymphatic system
— Can also be spacey and future focused so any self expression activities can help that energy flow. Choose foods that help maintain your body fluid balance, water-rich foods, leafy veggies, omega 3 rich foods, and supplements that boost lymphatic drainage. Avoid foods that drain your lymphatic system. Find hobbies that light you up, listen to music, paint, be creative. Nature walks, swimming, cardio, cycling, dancing. Taking frequent baths and soaking your feet in soap and epsom salt water can release stress from the feet area, grounding activities, reflecting, journaling and writing down your hopes and thoughts.
✧ PLANETS
Sun - heart, head, spine, spinal cord, eyes — can influence vitality, heart function, headaches, fever, eyesight.. etc
Moon - stomach, breast, lungs, blood circulation, body fluids — can influence colds, blood flow, dehydration, stomach issues.
Mercury - nervous system, ears, mouth, skin — can influence ear problems, mental illness, restlessness, breathing issues.
Venus - face, cheeks, throat, bladder, skin —  can influence skin issues, bladder infections, throat issues, carbs and sugar balance.
Mars - chest, muscles, blood, genitals — can influence accidents, wounds, muscles weakness, energy levels, genital diseases.

Saturn - bones, teeth, hair, legs, joints, knees — can influence knee or joint problems, dental problems, wisdom teeth, bone diseases, hair loss.
Note that these are just suggestions that I hope remind you and inspire you to listen to your body and take good care of it, discern, do your research and take only what works for you. much love 🫶

hi!! i hope you’re having a lovely day :-) i really enjoy reading your blog and how you pick apart Things & was wondering if you have any tips and guides for reading and analyzing poetry? ive always struggled w forming coherent thoughts abt poems and would love to know how you approach it. thank you sm for your time ✨
so the big thing that made poetry "click" for me was realising that i was trying to read it the way i might try to read a novel -- identify a discourse taking place, look for points in the text that supplement my argument, construct a position on what the piece is "about" based on these points -- all very undergrad essay-core and frankly a v boring way to think about novels as well, but like, completely mind-numbing when it came to poetry. i think a better approach is to interface with the poem at the level of language and technical construction. i find that it helps a lot to know the technical terms for particular phenomena in the language of poetry, but even without that shorthand knowledge, you'll get a lot out of poetry when you start looking at the choices being made at the level of individual words or even syllables. so instead of asking "what is this poem about?", we can start to ask, for instance:
what is the tone of this poem? is it sparing or loquacious? emotional or detached? asking questions or answering them? what's the vantage point - is this a detached omniscient third-person narrator making observations, or are we as the reader being guided towards a particular perspective on the part of the speaker?
what is the mouthfeel of this poem? can you find any 'shapes' -- any assonance, any internal rhyming, alliteration, anything that causes you to pay attention to particular words, phrasing, etc. why is your attention being called to those moments?
what is the rhythm of the poem? is it free verse -- if so, can you find any points in the piece where more or less attention to rhythm is being paid? why does the line break on this particular word? are the sentences short or long? how is the poet interfacing with their chosen meter? what does this meter lend to the poem? if you're reading multiple works by the same author, compare their use of meter -- do they use the same meter regularly or switch it up, and why were those switches made?
if you can annotate a poem, do so. note down anything which seems linguistically interesting, even if you don't know the "correct" technical word for it -- any clusters of words with similarities whose placement might be interesting (eg. what words are rhymed!), any noteworthy rhythmic discrepancies, placement of line breaks, anything that sticks out. i like to think of reading poetry as a playful exercise -- you're playing around with the words, seeing how they work, enjoying the rhythm and texture of the piece as it comes to you, and trying to construct "a reading" only after the fact.
i think there are times when the reading-for-a-discourse approach can be v helpful and illuminating, but it's best to stumble on those opportunities organically rather than focusing all your energy on trying to answer the "what is this trying to say?" question. if a particular discursive component of a poem sparks your interest (like eg. you read the rime of the ancient mariner and notice how the poem interfaces with contemporaneous abolitionist discourses as well as colonialist ideas about polynesia, just as an example), you've obviously got a compelling hook from which you can anchor a reading, but going in expecting such a reading to jump off the page will often just result in frustration.
this doesn't mean that we don't take the discourse of a poem seriously, or that we don't understand the "rules" of poetry to be postdiscursive phenomena highly contingent on social context. if anything, understanding poetry at a mechanical level opens up significant doors for answering these types of questions -- we can understand, for example, the reactionary nature of the academic revolt against free verse and the desire to return to metered poetry better once we understand the function of form and structure in fascist aesthetics. similarly, spending this kind of time with a poem makes it a lot easier to get a handle on what it might be "about," and what sort of choices are being made to render that "about"ness coherent.
also -- and this is true of anything, including poetry -- if a poet isn't working for you, try reading somebody else. a lot of poets that people will say are good and interesting are neither of those things. poetry has the advantage of being (usually!) a quick read compared to novels, so it's far easier to shop around, read widely, realise what you like and dislike, and engage accordingly.
one of my favourite pieces of literary criticism and examples of the value of this sort of reading practice comes from nabokov's epilogue to lolita, in which he both defends the novel in question against accusations of salacity and speaks very disparagingly of efforts to read a thesis statement into it. he writes:
Every serious writer, I dare say, is aware of this or that published book of his as of a constant comforting presence. Its pilot light is steadily burning somewhere in the basement and a mere touch applied to one’s private thermostat instantly results in a quiet little explosion of familiar warmth. This presence, this glow of the book in an ever accessible remoteness is a most companionable feeling, and the better the book has conformed to its prefigured contour and color the ampler and smoother it glows. But even so, there are certain points, byroads, favorite hollows that one evokes more eagerly and enjoys moretenderly than the rest of one’s book. I have not reread Lolita since I went through the proofs in the spring of 1955 but I find it to be a delightful presence now that it quietly hangs about the house like a summer day which one knows to be bright behind the haze. And when I thus think of Lolita, I seem always to pick out for special delectation such images as Mr. Taxovich, or that class list of Ramsdale School, or Charlotte saying “waterproof,” or Lolita in slow motion advancing toward Humbert’s gifts, or the pictures decorating the stylized garret of Gaston Godin, or the Kasbeam barber (who cost me a month of work), or Lolita playing tennis, or the hospital at Elphinstone, or pale, pregnant, beloved, irretrievable Dolly Schiller dying in Gray Star (the capital town of the book), or the tinkling sounds of the valley town coming up the mountain trail (on which I caught the first known female of Lycaeides sublivens Nabokov). These are the nerves of the novel. These are the secret points, the subliminal co-ordinates by means of which the book is plotted—although I realize very clearly that these and other scenes will be skimmed over or not noticed, or never even reached, by those who begin reading the book under the impression that it is something on the lines of Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure or Les Amours de Milord Grosvit. That my novel does contain various allusions to the physiological urges of a pervert is quite true. But after all we are not children, not illiterate juvenile delinquents, not English public school boys who after a night of homosexual romps have to endure the paradox of reading the Ancients in expurgated versions.
It is childish to study a work of fiction in order to gain information about a country or about a social class or about the author. And yet one of my very few intimate friends, after reading Lolita, was sincerely worried that I (I!) should be living “among such depressing people” —when the only discomfort I really experienced was to live in my workshop among discarded limbs and unfinished torsos.

Messages from mother earth 🪽🌲
Hey ya’ll!! Back with another post ☺️💗 this one is super interesting and has a lot of endearing messages for ya’ll. I hope you guys enjoy and feel free to comment, like and reblog 🪽✨
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
• Pile 1: Mother Earth wants to bring you freedom through liberation 🌙✨ releasing through crying, journaling, and letting your body rest is the best way to go through this process. It’s important to give yourself the choice to let go & find deep healing through this. Being around animals is a great way to heal yourself, and builds empathy with the world. Go outside for walks, especially big open spaces. You need to allow yourself to roam freely, emotionally and physically. Crying it out has great benefits and releases hormones so you might feel so much better after, and getting sleep is so important for this group. Find a coffee shop & sit, observe and find stillness. Realize you are part of the community, even if no one knows you. Somehow, you drinking or eating amongst others is not so bad ☕️ you’ll find that you’re handling it well, and its peaceful.
• Pile 2: Take a warm bath with essential oils (if you’re allergic pls do not do this 🤡) or with herbs. Take your time decorating your space, set the mood. Light those candles, play some music, and get into it. Mother nature wants you to connect to your sensuality, divulge in all your senses to create some movement in your energy field. Slowing down with yourself may be the best thing you do all week, so if you have been busy, please slow down. Mother nature has gifts for you too, so if you find people wanting to shower you in compliments, buying you flowers or wanting to hang out, just know thats mother natures way of saying you’re remembered. Buy yourself flowers if no one will, mother nature says having plants in your space will feed you energy 🌲✨ (if ya’ll want a big tree in your room idk about that one) but anyway, slow down & have fun!
• Pile 3: Dress warm mother nature says, if you’re not wearing your scarf or hat please do. Its easy for you to get sick and have digestive issues during the winter. Depending on where you’re at in the world this won’t resonate for all of you. Drink warm stuff and eat soup, soup is for the soul. Nourishment is your theme this month, through food, supplements and body care ☕️✨ manifesting before drinking tea or coffee will help you greatly. Just whisper what you want, drink your coffee/tea, and believe in the magic around you. It will find you. It knows you already. Mother nature wants to shower you in patience, patience is the softest form of love after all. If things have been quiet or slow, this is why. You deserve peace and gentleness. Your heart is big, so if someone is wanting you to be nonchalant, it wont work. You require more, because you can provide it, and that’s valid. Know your worth pile 3’s 🤍
This was so cute and fun to do! Such lovely messages for ya’ll 🤗 I hope this resonated and have a lovely day/night ya’ll!
Book a reading with me here 🤍

"What electives did you take in your undergrad? I know there's some requirements for English in American -" "I took ballet," Jeremy blurts out. "For my art elective." Dr. Ullmark blinks. Rubs his eyes. "Ballet," he repeats. "I played hockey in undergrad," says Jeremy meekly. "Goalie. The - the ankle flexibility -" "Yes, I can see the value of... dance, for netminding," interrupts Dr. Ullmark, but there's the start of a smile dancing on his lips. "I'm not sure how useful ballet will be for Scandinavian poetry, but I'm sure we can make it work together?" Jeremy's fucked. In more ways than one.
Dr. Linus Ullmark is in… a state of a transition. Being a sessional lecturer at a school better known for its biology programs than its literature research is fine for now. He just needs hear back on that professorship in Ottawa. Or the applications for positions back in Sweden. Or even that research fellowship in Norway, of all places. Until then, he’ll grit his teeth and keep teaching introductory comparative literature at Boston University, because something better is bound to come eventually.
It’s only classic for administration to drop a random TA into his lap after he’s specifically said that he doesn’t need one. It’s even better that this Jeremy Swayman is a PhD candidate from the natural sciences faculty, and likely can’t tell expressionism from surrealism. But making ends meet as a grad student is difficult enough, and if the paycheque isn't coming out of his research grants, Linus really wouldn’t mind an extra body during seminars. All the guy has to do is sit in on lectures and answer student emails. How bad could it be?
Two things go wrong at the very start — Jeremy knows less about literature than Linus could even fathom, and he is painfully earnest about trying his best to be a good TA despite this fact. At least he’s cute, even if Linus would prefer maybe 40% of his current energy.
It's fine. Linus just needs to get through this semester like a professional.
Jeremy Swayman is a PhD student studying Environmental Science at Boston University, and he’s damn good at it. It’s a shame that living in Boston is as expensive as it is, but he’s been able to supplement his scholarships with teaching labs around the department for the past two years of his degree. But when his usual positions fall out from under him, the university presents him a TA position in the Literature department, of all things. Jeremy can’t do anything but lie egregiously about his qualifications and accept it. How hard could an introductory comparative literature course be to bullshit, anyway?
Of course, it then goes to shit almost immediately when Dr. Ullmark clocks him as embarrassingly underqualified. But he hires him anyway, and Dr. Ullmark has a quiet but wicked sense of humour, and is ever so patient when walking through the course assignments with him, and doesn’t laugh meanly at his attempts at pronouncing the author names on the reading list, and —
Jeremy may be falling a little too fast. For an Arts prof, of all people.
As the semester begins, will Linus and Jeremy figure out how to run the course together despite their differences? And is something else brewing on the horizon?
Academia AU Swaymark for @ullybug :3
