Where to find witchcraft materials in Brazil
(without being SCAMED)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When i started learning about witchcraft, one of the first problems i run into was acess to materials. I knew their names, what they should look like, but had no clue where to go to buy. The first time i entered a Esoteric store i was blown away for two reasons:one, everything was beautifull; two, everything was expansive.
Online, most the resources i find are in english and for EUA and Europe. So I've decided to make this post listing some palces in brazil, where we brazilian witches can find tools and materials for our craft.
*All images are from google as an exemple of how these places might look like, but their apparece can change from state-to-state.
Tumblr media
Casas de religião (Religious houses)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These places sell iteams used in Quimbanda and Ubanda practices, but not only that. You see: candles, incense and herbs can also be found there. As well as incense holders, statues and more. Of course we aren't going to pick up things from closed practices, we know that much! But we there is a lot in the casas de religião that we can use.
Tumblr media
Mercadão
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The mercadão usually exists in big cities (like são paulo e porto alegre), and i love it. Is where i bought most of my stuff, like candles, herbs, and the pilão(an wood tool used to smash and grind herbs). The nice thing in the Mercadão is that there are multiple stores within it, like a mall but cheaper. So inside we can find a couple casas de religião, general nature stores, etc. If you are also looking for fruits, vegetables and fresh fish, this is your spot!
Tumblr media
Feira (fair)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The feira usually happens once a week, in a set spot, and they sell local grown fruits and vegetables. Besides selling the best pastel you will ever eat, you might just be lucky enough to find some herbs that you can use in your craft.
But there are also the "fairas para turistas", which are a bit more tricky. In there you can find a bunch of different things: antique items, old books, and crystals. The thing is that because these places are more for tourists, they tend to be more expensive.
Tumblr media
Loja de tudo 10 ("Everything is 10 bucks" store, would be our dolla tree or equivalent)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once called loja de 1,99, these stores ware the og shain and amazon for brazilians. We know the stuff there is bad quality, but it is soo cheap too! In there you gotta focus on finding tools (scissors, knifes, plates), offering bowls, and incense! All my incense are from these stores, they have some very unique smells, but i like it.
Tumblr media
O Supermercado (The supermarket)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If it all fails, go to your local supermarket in brazil. It will sell some white candels and comun herbs too. We have the small local markets, and also the big supermarket chains. Usually, the local small supermarkets sell the same thing from the big chains, but cheaper.
Tumblr media
EXTRAS:
Sebos
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do you want to find some witchcraft books, but don't want to give money to bezos? Then try the Sebos, second hand bookstores that might have what you want. The thing is that they are much like gambling, so it depends a lot on luck. However, even if you don't find what you are lookign for, i bet you will find some other cool book to take home with you
Tumblr media
Floriculturas
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The flower shops sell, well flowers (and valantine's day gifts, too), but not only. Its there where you will find some herbs to plant in your garden, if you want to keep one! You can also find the alive herb to buy in the casas de religião e nos mercadões.

Character Casey
Couple Casey
Rating Cute
Halloween Day 1
I heard a loud knock on the door so I got up from my desk and headed out from my office into the main part of the apartment Casey sat on the little blue playmat with Edgar the two playing with many of Edgar's little toys, Casey saw me and smiled so I smiled back as I headed to the door opening it up to see the usual amazon man.
"Hi" I smiled
"Hi," He says handing over the large box
"Thanks" I nodded heading in shutting the door behind me and setting the box down on the kitchen counter "What have you been buying?" I asked
"...nothing," He says sheepishly
I grabbed a knife and opened up the box to reveal a myriad of items "What is all this?" I asked
Casey got up from the floor bringing baby Edgar with him on his hip having a peek in the box "Ohh yeah, I got some things for little boy"
"Without consulting me?" I glared
"You'll love them I know you will," he says sitting Edgar in his high chair and taking the box getting out the first item "It's a Binx onesie"
"Awww that is cute," I smiled looking at the little black onesie with orange cat paws on the feet, a little black tail, and even cat ears on the hood "That is sweet"
"I have more, I got him this little pumpkin jumper," he says showing a cute little orange fluffy jumper with seams to make it look like a pumpkin with a jack o lantern face sewn on
"Awww that's nice a little warm for him though"
"Well it'll be good, for when we go to the pumpkin patch"
"I suppose so"
"I also got this cute little skeleton set," he says showing some black pants and a shirt with a skeleton across it
"I like that the best that's adorable"
"No no no I saved the best for last my love," he says getting a little striped shirt and denim dungarees
"Uhhhh? not really on theme? you couldn't have got fall colours at least? make a shirt with ghosts on?"
"Do you know get it?"
"No?"
He rolled his eyes taking it and Edgar into another room for a moment When he returned Edgar was dressed up in the outfit
"Aww you look very cute darling," I smiled
"You still don't know?"
"No?"
"Uhhh does this help" he says getting a knife and holding it close to Edgar's hand
"Casey don't give him a knife!"
"I'm trying to help," he says "It's the Chucky doll outfit"
"Ohhh? I never saw any of the movies"
"Really? Well, I know what we're doing on Halloween," he says "But doesn't he make a cute little mass murderer?"
"He does, come here Edgar" I smiled pulling him into a cuddle "You look very handsome" I smiled giving his head a kiss "and you did good, but don't buy Edgar clothes without consulting me. Mummy knows the aesthetics best" I smiled
"Yes dear" He laughs giving us both a cuddle

despite my best efforts at a schedule and socializing... it’s been one of the hardest summers I’ve had in a while.
some of it is big things, like struggling to stick to any kind of schedule I set for myself due to this being the first year my husband’s work schedule is hybrid (he is home every other week, then I am home alone every other week; if it were just one or the other, I’d be fine), and not being able to go on walks due to the heat.
some of it is nebulous things, like needing to save money but then Sales keep happening on things we kinda need/weird things pop up, and my husband is bored af all day at work and then his mood affects mine because i just am sensitive to other people’s moods, and the fact that we need to formally decide if we are moving out of state soon (husband knows his answer, but I am scared/overwhelmed and will have to quit teaching), and that all this weirdness is making it So Hard to Concentrate on Reading, which is usually my solace in the summer.
but honestly, a lot of it is stupid little things and I don’t understand why so many of them are happening all at once. Just since yesterday morning:
the new avocado I needed to quarter for my usual breakfast smoothies refused to yield the pit, which ended up breaking, and I spent a solid 5 min scraping and slicing to be sure there were no remnants
immediately after I finally got that situated, I grabbed the new carton of almond milk, and it was... somehow sealed wrong?? idk how, but it would NOT open. so I tried opening the side to make a spout (like the little milk cartons from school), but that also would not open cleanly. I ended up needing a knife to slice into it. And then I had to go digging for a pitcher we never use to keep it in since the carton was destroyed.
then my nook crapped out on me. [backstory first: 2 months ago, my nook started randomly resetting itself, which deletes all of your side-loaded content. I ended up having to call customer service. They wanted me to hard reset. It took like 1.5 hours on the phone with them because it SAID it was connected to the wifi but then it wouldn’t do the next step of the set up process because it couldn’t find a wifi connection. Finally the set up process actually went through and they were like “ok all good now!” (right. ok. magically fixed the resetting issue by resetting it. yeah.)] Yesterday, while I was in the middle of reading a library book (considered side-loaded content), it reset itself again, which, of course, deleted the book I was reading.
We agreed last time that if it kept happening, I could get a new nook. Unfortunately, the new model doesn’t come out until september and I’m wary of buying another of the same model in case it has the same problem 2 years in (which is past the warranty period, of course). I did decide to pre-order the new one and pray that hard resetting would again “magically fix” the problem for another 2 months.
This morning, I finally made myself start cleaning the porch. This is terrifying because our porch gathers leaf litter like a mofo and I haven’t cleaned it in ages. There are all sorts of spiders and bugs out there.
AND of course my gardening gloves have been in an unsealed cart out there. they are shot. i will have to do all this bare handed...
I successfully get the pots of dead plants thrown away. I begin to gather the open bags of dirt to throw them away, having to be extra careful of spiders with my bare hands. A wasp starts flying around me. I try but fail miserably to remain calm and run inside. That chore will not get done today, and today was the last day of below 100F/some cloud cover for who knows how long.
Since I can’t do that chore, I check my amazon cart to see if anything we need got put on prime sale. basically... no. I buy it anyway. or try to; the shipping page keeps crapping out on mobile. I move to my computer and finish the purchase on desktop.
now time to pre-order that nook. except it won’t let me sign in. b&n’s website has so many trackers and shit that it breaks firefox sometimes. (is2g i use nook only because others don’t let you completely turn the backlight off, and as soon as my free year of premium membership is up, I’m going back to using bookshop.org for everything.) I switch to chrome (blech) and sign in.
i press “pay with paypal” and then “complete purchase”. It never pulled up my paypal to let me choose which card to pay with. I have to get into paypal to even figure out which card it payed with. It paid with not the credit card I wanted, not even my default card as selected in paypal, but with our shared checking account. (annoying but no damage done.)
time now to hard reset my nook... oh look, it’s doing the same connected/not connected to the wifi thing. goody...
all this in only the last 30ish hours. and it feels like the whole summer has been like this!
I can’t pretend good things haven’t happened. I visited my family, my bestie visited me and we did a fun craft together, I joined a new public library and love it more than my old one, I hung out with a friend to eat good food and visit a thrift/record store, we FINALLY framed/hung some art and it looks GREAT, I reorganized most of our music so its easier to access, husband made an htpc (home theater computer) so we no longer get youtube ads and he set up plex on it so I can watch the shakespeare plays I have downloaded, I finally made our new 9 delights tracker and it’s almost perfect, I joined my coworker-friend’s book club (bingo card system- good-, but the group read is an author I hate), I crocheted a dog sweater that actually worked (but idk yet if it fits cuz it’s for my parents’ dog), I began the process of switching away from google drive/gmail to something more secure (proton, which I got for almost 50% off).
And there are SO MANY good things coming up: we leave in a couple days to visit the city we might move to, we have tickets to barbie & oppenheimer, we’ll go to a friend’s daughter’s 1st bday party, my besties are coming to visit (museum, escape room, and musical all purchased and lined up!), we’re spending labor day weekend in a luxury cabin in the mountains with friends (owned by one friend’s rich aunt who is not charging/excited to host us), we have tickets to see my fav studio ghibli in theaters in sept., I have tickets to see To Kill a Mockingbird with a coworker-friend, we have ballet tickets for the season...
and yet, I’m struggling daily to complete basic tasks and maintain a positive attitude due to the onslaught of Stupid Little Grievances. :/

Which is your favorite act of each circus skill Cirque du Soleil has ever included? Favorite trapeze act, favorite silks act, dance, icarian games, miscellaneous, etc.
Sweet you menace. You knew this would both delight me and derail my day. I am powerless but to respond.
(Disclaimer that categorizing and even identifying all circus acts is both impossible and a credit to the medium itself, this is neither a comprehensive list of acts nor a comprehensive list of my favorites, etc. etc.)
Adagio/acro/hand to hand - Adagio Quatuor, Luzia
Sensual, emotional, graceful expression of conflict, perfect set, perfect song, perfect voice. Check out 3:50-4:13 for what I personally think is the best moment in the entire show. Can't explain it. It just gives me chills every time.
Aerial hoop - Cerceaux, O
There is a lot of great lyra acts in Cirque, some with markedly stronger overall choreography and difficulty level, but this song in this setting, when the brides come in... this one is unmatched.
Aerial straps - Tlaloc, Luzia
Cirque is utterly oversaturated with aerial straps acts. But this one is real magic.
(like a billion more beneath the cut)
Balance - Rola bola, Kurios
How is there no decent video on hand?? Anyway this act is a heart attack no matter how many times you see it.
Banquine - Banquine, Quidam
You already know there's no other. 1:44 if you want goosebumps. The ghost twins are handled with such tender delicacy, and yet they're both totally hollow and interchangeable. Absolutely incredible.
Bars of any kind (Russian, uneven, tournik, high, etc.) - Uneven bars, Amaluna
Very nearly tournik here, but I just love the Amazons so much and feel like this entire show was shafted so I'm sticking with it.
Bungee - Bungees, Zed
There is basically no linkable footage of this act anywhere but it wins because of the set and song. And they're galaxies!!!
Contortion - Contortion, Kurios
Wish I could find decent footage of it onstage because it looks so cool with its proper base and setting. But I just love how energetic this act is, and the skill level is nuts.
Cradle (Russian, aerial, other, etc.) - Bateau, O
Aerial cradle meets parallel bars meets sheer genius.
Dance - Dance Interlude, La Nouba
This was very nearly Dei Ex Machina from Mystere because I'm obsessed with the new Monarch bird, but. There's a chance nothing else in the world matters besides this song.
Diabolo - Diabolo, Kooza
Who's doing it higher, faster, and better than this tbh. Plus his costume is just adorable.
Fire - Fire Knife Dance, Alegria IANL
This artist in particular takes the cake. You can feel his passion and joy. A perfect match for this act and show.
Flying trapeze - Flying trapeze, Mystere
It's categorically the best flying act in the entire world. Really nothing more to it. I've trained with a few people in the act too, so it has a very special place in my heart. 1:33 for an uprise that gives me a heart attack every. fucking. time.
Handbalancing - Handbalancing on canes, Varekai
This act lends itself very beautifully to different moods. I'm particularly fond of this chilly interpretation - La Promise is so mature here, so in control of herself and her surroundings.
Interlude - Dans L'Air, Quidam
Probably guessable. I never shut up about this one. Favorite moment in all of my Cirque experience. There is nothing like those lights coming up bright and hot as the red curtains stretch out, not before not since.
Juggling - Juggling, Amaluna
Love Cali, love Viktor Kee. No one on earth moves like him.
Non-juggling manipulation - Batons, Ka
Misc. aerial - Cloud swing, Quidam
Favorite Cirque act of all time. All time ever. I don't imagine anyone is clicking through all of these but if anyone chose just one, I'd want it to be this. The women with their ropes. Boum Boum trapped beneath the net. The bassist. The fact that Cirque hasn't touched this act once since it was retired in Quidam. Everything about it is perfection.
Misc. other things that swing - Swiss rings, Volta
I'll never forget seeing this live. A real shining jewel in a show that never got to become what it could have been.
Non-juggling manipulation (hoops, batons, ribbons, etc.) - Batons, Ka
Duhhhhh 😁
Russian swing - Russian swing, O
What really makes this act are the tiny interactions between artists. Everyone has a story and a reason to celebrate. The Russian swing itself becomes almost secondary to the setting it creates. Perfect example of a successful ensemble act.
Silks - Aerial contortion in silks, Quidam
Again, are there any others? This act is simply vicious.
Static trapeze - Triple trapeze, Varekai
Again, duhhh 😁. I wanted to be one of them so badly when I was younger.
Teeterboard - Korean plank, Mystere
Kind of a cheat because it's also powertrack but come on this act rules.
Trampoline (wall, power track, etc.) - Powertrack, La Nouba
Utterly devastating in its effectiveness. I truly do not care that today's powertrack acts are a million times more complex or high in skill level. This is precision and simplicity at its finest, and every dash of characterization shows the magic crammed into every moment of La Nouba. So many modern shows have never and could never in their wildest dreams. Lose my shit at 6:50.
Unicycle - Unicycles, Drawn To Life
No real footage because Disney is the worst. I don't even like unicycles and I adored this act.
Wheel (cyr, German, crossed, etc.) - Roue cyr, Corteo
Yet again it's that act/song combo that does me in. The precision this act demands! The bizarre darkness of the entire thing! I'm just obsessed.
Wheel of death - Wheel of death, Kooza
No one else should even try tbh. Even Ka can't match the energy, and the intimacy of the big top takes this act to the absolute maximum.
Wire - Tightwire, Amaluna
I don't really care for wire acts too much but I really liked this one! I was bummed when it was removed. It lent shape to the world in a really nice way.

✩🪡🌹 Review:
Mafi’s first book in her new fantasy trilogy is breathtaking!
“This Woven Kingdom” alternates between the viewpoints of Alizeh (the long lost heir to a Jinn Kingdom living as a servant) and Kamran (the crown Prince of Ardunia). Both characters lead wildly different lives because of their status in society, which allows the reader to see Ardunia at its best and worst.
Alizeh and Kamran’s chance meeting sparks a forbidden attraction that reaches a fever pitch as the novel progresses. Their shared moments were few and far between, but had an addictive quality to them that kept me engaged and eager to keep reading. The knife to the throat passages paired with Mafi’s lyrical and descriptive prose is magic on the page.
Another aspect of the novel that made it so captivating is how Mafi weaves elements of Persian mythology into her world-building. At the novel’s outset she establishes Ardunia as a powerful empire populated by Jinn (humanoids that possess strength, speed, and rapid healing abilities) and humans. Only Kamran knows that the empire is at risk of falling because of water scarcity and Alizeh’s existence. These threats to the throne nicely set up two of the novel’s main conflicts: the war over water with the neighboring empire of Tulan and the hunt for the Jinn prophesied to bring Ardunia to its knees. Both conflicts work well with the tropes Mafi incorporates in her writing (forbidden love and enemies to lovers) and intrigued me as a reader.

Jumping Bunny: Mori
Tumblr media
My One Piece Self insert introduction!
Introduction
Mori was just a normal girl traveling and living adventures, as far as traveling as a stowaway in ships and fighting alone in Grand Line can be. In one of the rare occasions that she was traveling alone in a boat was rescued by the Strawhat crew from drowning. She saw in the newspaper about Ace's execution and knowing it was Luffy's big bro, she went to help.
But she ended up showing up late and help Trafalgar Law to treat and operate Luffy and Jinbe.
While in the Amazon island, a newspaper came with her first bounty. She started to fear about how the hell she was going to pass over Mariejoa with a price over her head when Trafalgar offer her a spot in his crew.
Now she travel in the Polar Tang while fighting to improve the health of her capitain while helping with research.
Appearance
She has a pale white hair with a bit of a pink subtone. Her eyes a pinkish red. With 1'65cm, loves to wear heels because doesn't like to be smaller than her opponents. Loves to show skin and dress up.
She has two piercing in each ear, wearing a set of heart shaped earing and on the outer holes a black an golden basic ones (the golden was stolen from Trafalgar in Dressrosa).
Has tatooed the band jolly rogger right under her boob, on top where the heart is supposed to be.
Personality
She always has a smile on her face till the act is over. "First tick yourself, and then you'll trick everyone else". Once surrounded with people she trust and on private her range of emotions bloom. Isn't afraid to get her hands dirty for a mission.
Even tho she describes herself as a selfist girl, she is most of the time helping aroud the Polar Tang. But says no if it's too much for her plate.
She is a lovebird and isn't afraid to show it and cry for it. Loves to party with her crewmates and sleep around.
Abilities
-Doctor and pharmacologist: Since young, she lived with her master, an expirate doctor and old acquiteance of her mother, traveling around all South Blue offering affordable treatments. She knows medicine, operation assistance and her best subject pharmacology.
-Haki: she can use Observation Haki and Armament Haki. Her observation haki is pretty strong, she can't see the future but can feel it (she calls it "intuition", others can call it "spidersense"). The armament haki was teached to her by her master as He wanted her to be safe. Can infuse Haki into bullets and mostly uses there and onto her punches and jumps.
-Gunner: Using her observation haki she can aim with almost no chance of missing the target.
-Punch: Her fight style combines punches with tons of bullets and quick dogges with her jumps and sprints. Since she wants no chance of losing, she loves to throw traps or hide knifes.
-Jump: She can jump high and strong. Can't kick as strong as her jumps but it can still hurt.
Trivia
Even tho she aims just with her right eye open, this eye is prosthetic. She actualy uses her haki to aim.
Her name comes from "Memento mori" and it was given to her by her master.
Her first bounty was given to her because she fell on top and K.O. a Vice Almiral in Paramount War.
She can sew and love to make outfits and costumes. That's why she fought for the right to wear whatever on land while she is not on duty.
Shares birthday with Bepo .
Because of that, Bepo started to think that she is her sister (in some way). Mori loves this and uses to cuddle him a lot and make Trafalgar jealous.
Bepo bought her a hair tie with bunny ears to commemorate that.
Her party partner are obviusly Sachi and Penguin.

Don’t scratch it!
Summary: Reader and Jack try and pull off a christmas surprise for everyone else, some things do not go to plan.
A/N: Fluff for christmas because Jack is actually my best friend.
Platonic
Pronouns: she/her
Tumblr media
About a week ago Jack and Y/N had been listening to christmas music for fun, and then Jack had asked if Dean and Sam ever had an actual christmas, she thought about it for a second, and then their idea began to plot itself.
Now Y/N is waiting until she’s sure Dean had fallsn asleep so she could steal the impala keys.
I know what you’re thinking, why would they still the impala keys? They needed to get a christmas tree that they had impulsively ordered without realizing how they were going to get it and bring it back.
After a few minutes of standing outside of Dean’s door, Y/N carefully opens the door, walking in, and over to the stand by his bed, she pauses as Dean turns over so his back is facing her, she waits and then moves again, and then grabs the keys.
Dean snores and she pauses once again, and then when she’s sure he’s still sleeping she turns around walking out and closing the door carefully.
She’s now driving to the adress she had set as her amazon account, it was an abandoned house, no one inside but the outside looked fine so she set it as her adress, it’s not like she could’ve made the bunker adress the one things got delivered to.
As she’s driving, Jack’s looking out the window before turning to her, “Are you sure Dean was asleep.”
“Yeah, I checked multiple times. Besides, he’s a heavy sleeper, I doubt he’ll wake up anytime soon.”
“Okay.” Jack says and looks back out the windos as they pull up to the house, she parks Baby before turning her off and opening the door, the familar sqeak meeting her ears, she smiles as she closes the door. The two walk up the porch of the house and she slides the keys into her jeans’ pocket and they look down at the tree, “Alright, we got this.”
Twenty Minutes Later
“We don’t got this.” Y/N says, sighing as they set the tree back down, it had been an hour since they arrived and they couldn’t figure out how to put the tree so it wouldn’t be obvious it were there, they had tried the trunk, and it would poke out, they had tried the backseat and it was to big to close the door, Jack leans against Baby, looking down at the tree, “Could we put it on top?”
Y/N turns around, looking at the hood of the impala, then down at the tree, “We can try, not really much else for it to go, right?”
They pick it up, as they move around, as they get it on Y/N holds it up as Jack goes around to the other side to pull it into the middle, as he does the tie on the bottom of the tree that’s holding the branches down rips, the bottom half going up, some of it smacks Y/N in the face but that’s not what she’s worried about as it slides onto the ground and off Baby from the weight of the branches opening, her eyes widen as she ignores the tree, looking where it had fallen off of Baby, to see if there had been a scratch anywhere.
Jack comes to the other side where Y/N is standing, “ I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do that. Did it scratch anything?”
“I’m not sure, help me look.”
An hour later
They had finished looking everywhere on Baby just to be sure, I mean if there were even the smallest scratch, Dean would notice and they both would be dead, probably twice, once for stealing the keys and two for scratching Baby, Jack glances down at Y/N hand, “Oh, You’re bleeding.”
He walks over to her, grabbing her wrist, “What? Oh, it’s nothing, don’t worry about it, just a scratch.”
“I can heal it, if you want.”
“I’m fine, thank you, it’s just a scratch. Let’s get this back up.”
“Okay.” He smiles at her, bending down to pick up the one side, she picks up the other, and they push it on top.
They finally got it, and had tied it down with stuf that was in the trunk.
Baby pulls up to the bunker, Y/N turns Baby off, and opens the door, using the knife on the keychain to rip the zip ties and then goes to help, “Wait, see if their still asleep and I’ll get it down.” Jack says, she smiles muttering an okay as she opens the bunker door, going down the stairs and looking around, seeing no one she goes back up and outside as Jack sets it down onto the ground.
As they reach the stairs Y/N is the one to go backwards down them while holding it, they go down, and on one of the steps, the tree turns, sliding out of their hands and Y/N moves out of the way as it falls down the stairs, they glance at each other and pause for a second and then Y/N asks, “Do you think they heard that?”
“I don’t think so.”
“Okay, good, me either.”

The new issue of Yabblins, from Gypsum Sound Tales, has dropped. It includes my alt. history/steampunk airship/power armour vs griffon/espionage story, "The Hounds of Zeus". Grab a copy from Amazon. Here, have a short excerpt below the cut:
Francesca Felluci winced as the rigging above her emitted a shrill creaking. The Pickwick was practically an antique, as airships went. It lacked the newer model engines coming out of the Electric Duchy, and mostly made do with hope and alchemy.
The deck was wide and three masts rose from it, their upper reaches forming a wooden ribcage for the oft-patched gasbag. Dozens of sandbags hung from the rails, keeping the airship from rising too high. Steel aft-props twisted slowly, forcing the ship along its unhurried route from Bingazi to Tzánte.
The rigging continued to sing as the dusk wind slunk through it. Her head was already pounding, thanks to a full night’s carousing with the captain and his mates. It wasn’t so much the alcohol she’d consumed as it was the singing. The captain, Anki, might be a reliable smuggler, but he was a terrible tenor.
The Pickwick was ostensibly a merchantman, carrying assorted consumables from East to West for the Middle Sea League. Felluci knew for certain there were at least thirty cases of Aabel dates in the hold. There were also forty cases of Ottoman manufactured firearms going to Cathar rebels in the Greater Languedoc, and what was possibly a Greek talos – a gear-driven war-suit, mostly known for exploding at inopportune times. Anki made most of his profit ferrying illicit cargo – including passengers such as herself.
Grumpily, she plumped herself down in the padded seat of one of the gunner’s chairs lining the rail of the top-deck, and slung her booted feet up onto the firing mechanism. Deftly, she began to peel an orange with a thin-bladed knife and watched a raucous flock of sea gulls stream past, heading gods alone knew where.
“Fleeing the night,” a warm voice murmured at her ear. Felluci didn’t turn.
“You tried to poison me at dinner, Mazarin,” she said. “Who told you that you could add those heathen spices of yours to a perfectly palatable turnip soup?”
Bahati Mazarin leaned against the rail. She was an Amazigh by birth but when she spoke, the slightest Galician accent clung to her words. “You didn’t need any help in that regard, Countess. That Spanish swill you were guzzling could eat through iron.”
“When in Rome,” Felluci said, waving a hand out at the ocean. Mazarin snorted.
“We are in Greece.”
“Technically, these are Venetian waters,” Felluci said, spearing a slice of orange and popping it into her mouth. As she chewed, she added, “At least, the last time the Club updated its maps.” She frowned slightly as she thought of their paymasters. While ostensibly foreign nationals, both she and Mazarin were agentes in rebus of that most British of institutions, the Diogenes Club. Largely unwilling agents, but agents nonetheless. It had its perks; money, mostly.
“Clouds,” Mazarin said, hopping onto the rail and setting her back against the rigging. She wore no shoes, and her loose linen clothes rippled in the breeze. Felluci looked at her.
“What?”
“We are in an airship. So, Venetian clouds. Since we are being technical.”
Felluci snorted. “Don’t be ridiculous. Not even La Serenissima would dare lay claim to the clouds. Though I imagine the Republic’s best lawyers considered it a time or two.” She tossed the orange peel, still in one long piece, to a curious sea gull, one of several that had decided to alight on the deck. “Foul beasts.”
“The gulls?”
Felluci smiled. “Lawyers.”
Mazarin laughed softly. She wrapped her hands in the rigging and pulled herself up until she was dangling over the deck. “The sailors say there are harpyiai prowling the skies here, if you can believe it.” She looked up. “The Greeks call them the hounds of Zeus, though I do not know why. Then, the Greeks are a peculiar lot.”
“We’ve both seen stranger things,” Felluci said. She chewed thoughtfully on another piece of orange. “Vampires, werebeasts, and worse. What’s one more monster?”
“Still, I would like to see a harpy,” Mazarin said, in what might have been a wistful tone. She glanced at Felluci. “They say there is a manticore in the zoo in London.”
Felluci nodded. “There is. Sad looking bugger. Not used to the rain, I expect.” She finished her orange and wiped her hands on the frayed hussar’s coat she wore. “Supposedly you can pay a shilling to feed him a mouse, though I’ve never done it.”

Book Review: Scream For Us by Molly Doyle
This is just my thoughts and opinions about this book
So this is just me geeking out and ranting about this book because I don't have anyone to talk about it with. I hope you all enjoy it! One day, I was cleaning my room and needed something to listen to. I didn't want to watch YouTube, so I decided to check my Amazon account for audiobooks. I remembered I always wanted to listen to this book because one of my favorite people in the world, Von Necros, was voicing one of the characters. Back to the point, I decided to listen to this book because it was short. As I was cleaning and listening to the story, it turned out to be one of the best experiences. I don't normally listen to audiobooks, but this one was so much fun. All the voice actors did a wonderful job, and the writing was great.
We are introduced to a woman named Quinn, who is in college and trying to push herself out of her comfort zone. She dresses up and goes to a Halloween party, where she finds herself saved by three masked men dressed as Ghostface, Michael Myers, and Jason. These men are immediately drawn to her. After getting involved with them, Quinn decides to be bold and tells the three men that this is only for one night. As the night goes on, Quinn starts to do things she's never done before, exploring fantasies and desires she always wanted to.
Now, I'm going to talk about my favorite part of this book. THERE WILL BE SPOILERS!
I can't remember the exact chapter, but I do remember that Quinn was horribly bullied by a group of people in her younger years because her father took his own life, which caused her a lot of trauma. Wanting to get revenge for her, Ghost, Michael, and Jason find all of these people at an amusement park horror attraction. They block all the exits and call out Derek's name, one of her tormentors. Ghost then proceeds to stab him, leaving him to choke on his blood. Ghost then kills the rest of the group one by one. As they prepare to set the place on fire, Quinn, worried, walks in looking for Ghost. When he sees her, he walks closer until Quinn is up against a wall. He's aroused by her, and they proceed to have sex like animals. She is begging for him, and he nicks her collarbone with a knife, causing her to moan more. With the attraction set on fire, the screams of people around them, and smoke pouring in, Ghost gives Quinn his mask so she can breathe and continues having sex with her. Let me repeat that: HE CONTINUES TO FUCK HER WHILE THE PLACE IS ON FIRE! LIKE OH MY FUCKING GOD THIS WAS SO FUCKING HOT After finishing, he carries her in his arms and runs out of there with her. They make it to the grass where Jason and Michael meet them. Ghost lightly smacks her face, Quinn wakes up, smiles, and jokes that she feels safe with him. God, I love this chapter.
The reason I love this chapter is that it becomes a turning point for the characters. Quinn gets to live the life she wants without letting those people from her past ruin anything for her. She has people in her life who would do anything to make sure she is safe and who bring out a side of her that was always there but she never let out. The love and obsession in this chapter are top tier. I love everything about this chapter so much.
This concludes my book review, or more likely me yapping about one of my favorite books. If you want to read it, go to Amazon and look up "Scream For Us." It's a short book with only 10 chapters, and it's a fun, wonderful ride of dark romance, self-worth, obsession, and really, really hot dudes in masks. Seriously, this book will feed your mask kink if you have one.

WORD COUNT: 1504
After the king had taken his older sister into his office to talk and the twins had admired the bedsheets and towels that I had picked out for them, I had to transfer the king’s new bedsheets into the dryer and I tossed in the bath towels into the washer this time around.
“Mommy, can you buy some laundry hampers for me and Evie?” Aria asked me as she took a seat at the kitchen island across from her younger twins. “Me and Evie just toss our dirty clothes into a corner of the room.”
“I’ll ask the king when he comes out next,” I hummed, opening the Amazon app on my cell phone and adding a couple of laundry hampers to my wish lists. “What do you girls want for lunch?”
I was sliding the girls’ plated lunch over to them when the king and his sister came out from his office, the woman leaving the house and the king coming into the kitchen.
“Cathy needs to run off and deal with some drama at home,” he told me as he slid into a seat next to Evie, who was struggling to cut her food. He smiled kindly at her, motioning that he could cut her food for her and she happily handed over her plate, fork and knife. “Sweetheart, I’ve been watching videos up on YouTube, trying to learn sign language for Evie,” he told me next, finishing up his task and sliding the plate back over to the kids with a gentle kiss to the top of their head. “The local community college also offers some classes, so I’m looking into that as well.”
“Ah, okay,” I hummed, my ears perking upwards at the telltale tinklings that came from the dryer. I excused myself and went into the laundry room to take out bedsheets for the king’s bed and rotate the bath towels. I began to fold the sheets, working skillfully and quickly, smiling as I finished my task, stacking the freshly laundered bedsheets into the pillowcases and then carrying them into the kitchen.
“You got new bedsheets for our bed?” the king asked me nonchalantly, finishing up his lunch.
“Yes I did, your majesty,” I answered him respectfully as I took the girls’ new bedsheets into the laundry room, tossing them into the washer along with a detergent pod. “I checked the linen closet, and you only had the one set. I do hope that you don’t mind too much.”
“Sweetheart, I don’t care if you use my card to buy things that you and the girls need,” he validated my worrying, carrying his plate into the kitchen and running water over it. “Just don’t drain my bank account, okay?”
I smiled at him, thankful that my soulmate was such a sweet man.
“Before I forget, but I’ll have time to head off to Home Depot tomorrow and look at paint colors for the girls’ bedrooms,” he told me, holding up a hand as I opened my mouth. “Neutral colors, right? To make the bedrooms easy to age up with the girls as they grow up?”
“Yeah, that sounds like a plan,” I smiled at him, catching the twins having a telepathic conversation using just their facial expressions.
“Do you and daddy want us there?” Aria asked us sweetly, and I had a hunch what she was doing. “Me and Evie don’t mind staying behind and letting you two go out.”
Peter promptly burst out into uproarishly loud laughter at the girls trying to play wingman.
“Girls, the paint is going onto your bedroom walls,” I reminded them with a frown. “I do think you both should at least get a say into which colors we’ll get.”
“Sweetheart, let’s get the tiny pint sized cans of the colors you want to try out first,” the king suggested, still chortling. “That way, you can view the paint colors in different variants of light and can make a good choice.”
“Okay,” I hummed. “Girls, you’re coming with. End of discussion.”
“Yes mommy,” Aria meeped meekly before turning to sign to her sister.
“Hey sweetheart, what do you say to a date?” the king asked me shyly. “Just you and me?”
“YES!” cheered Aria excitedly, bouncing up and down on her seat. Evie let out a loud squeal as she joined her sister, the both of them jumping up and down on their bar stools.
“Girls,” I snapped. “Enough. Quit your bouncing unless you want to pay for new bar stools.”
“Yes mommy, sorry mommy,” Aria apologized, pushing her plate off to the side, signaling that she was done. The king took care of their now empty plates, planting quick kisses onto their temples before rinsing the plates and then setting them into the dishwasher.
“Sweetheart, tomorrow I have that dedication for the new children’s library opening in downtown,” he filled me in. “I’ll need to leave at nine AM to get to the event by nine fifty, and from there, I’ll cut the ribbon, pose for some pictures, be on a short film segment for the local news, and then I’ll return. We can go out for lunch after hitting up Home Depot after all that, does that sound okay?”
“Okay!” Aria chirped, answering his question to me.
“Alright now, you two go into the backyard and play!” I frowned, shooing the two sisters out the back door and sighing when I saw them beginning to frolic in the leaves. “Sorry about them, they’ve never acted like this before ever.”
“Don’t be sorry sweetheart, don’t be sorry,” he reassured me, leading me into a room in the back of the house that had a window which overlooked the king’s backyard, a nicely sized television and a comfy in appearance couch. “I’m happy that they like me enough to consider me as their father figure. It’ll make things easier for us moving forward.”
“Like how so?” I asked him, taking a seat on the squishy, comfortable sofa, being immediately snugged into his side as he wrapped an arm tightly around myself.
“Well, I called the agent who does my medical insurance, and she told me that you and the girls can only be added to my health care plan if you are my wife and the girls are officially adopted by me,” he shrugged, kicking his feet up onto the coffee table. “So if-”
“Yes.”
My response bubbled from deep within me, being joined by a happy smile as I settled my hand onto his chest.
“Pardon?” I could practically hear the king blinking owlishly.
“Yes, I’ll marry you,” I clarified before recovering myself. “That is, if that was what you were going to ask me.”
“Well, that wasn’t what I was asking you, but thank god!” he chuckled, pressing another sweet kiss onto me, this time to my temple. “This makes things so much more easier- like now I won’t need to stress about writing you a sappy poem or whatever.”
“YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!” screamed Aria, who apparently had been eavesdropping over by the partly opened window.
I promptly turned bright pink at the knowledge that Aria had been privy to our intimate moment, but the king clearly didn’t mind at all, as how he didn’t look displeased and wore a smile.
“You think they’re okay with it?” he asked me.
“Now you’ll officially be our daddy!” Aria cheered happily.
The king tossed his head backwards as he roared, tears of mirth pooling in his eyes as I tucked my face into his shoulder, not quite mortified- more so exasperated at my eavesdropping daughter.
