"Damn Davey, you look so dapper," Todd jokes almost meanly as soon as he walks into the gym and sees his best friend. Poor Dave instantly tightens his grip on your hand and narrows his eyes. 

"Shut up," he hisses, his cheeks a bright pink.

Your hand is still in Dave's and when you hear Todd, you turn to glare at him. "Jealous you don't have a date, Haynes?" you quip and turn to adjust the little rose in Dave's suit pocket that matches the colors in the corsage on your wrist.

You smile up at him, which only makes his cheeks turn even pinker. 

"Whatever, Y/l/n," Todd adds, laughing, "At least I didn't need a pity date."

You hate the way Todd is with Dave sometimes—although Dave always insists it's banter, sometimes it just feels mean.

You glare at Todd and say with a hiss, "You're an ass," and then you're pulling Dave away and towards where the center of the gym where your classmates are dancing.

It's upbeat music for the moment and Dave is clumsy in his movement as you dance around him. His eyes are stuck on yours.

"Loosen up will you?"

"You look very pretty tonight."

You and Dave say at the same time, your eyes widening and you both laugh a little. You wrap your arm around Dave's shoulder, still dancing to the music.

"Thanks, Davey," you whisper, your eyes sparkling. "You look very handsome," you echo his compliment, meaning every word. He does look handsome—but then again, he always looks handsome. 

He hums and his cheeks turn pink again. The song turns from dancey to slow and you lock gazes. Dave's hands wander to your waist as you lean into the dance. This feels so natural, as if your bodies are made to be molded into one soul. Dave presses himself closer, his head near your hair as he inhales your scent.

You smell heavenly. 

"Thanks for coming with me tonight," you say, "I really didn't want to go alone."

"Of course," Dave answers instantly, his breath by your ear, "anything for you," he adds in a whisper. 

Your chest feels warm and you look up at him, your hands sliding down to lay on his chest. Your smile widens and something in the air shifts because your eyes downcast to his lips. They've never looked prettier. He senses your gaze and his heart leaps. Instinctively, his teeth sink into his bottom lip. 

"Don't bite your lip, Lizewski, bite mine," you tell him boldly, unable to keep the thought inside you any longer.

Dave's eyes widen but you sense him leaning in closer and he hums as a question. Your eyes flutter shut and almost automatically, your lips meet.

It's short and sweet, his warm hands moving up to your cup cheeks as his lips linger on yours until he suddenly remembers you're in the middle of the school gym, surrounded by all your classmates.

He pulls away. "Sorry," he mumbles, embarrassed, "I didn't mean to kiss you like that—in front of everyone. I- this really wasn't how I had planned this moment," he admits, his cheeks a flaming red now and your eyes soften. You can feel his nervousness. 

"You had a plan?" you tease.

Dave nods instantly. "A stupid plan."

"Why don't you let me judge that," you say with a grin and wrap your arms around him again, holding him closer as you kiss his cheek and whisper in his ear, "because this is exactly how I planned this, baby."

you rolled your eyes as he spun around your desk chair, pulling your arms to make you stand up.

“..cmon, get dressed. we’re leaving, we’ll have fun. i promise” he smiled.

you began walking towards the bathroom, knowing he wasn’t gonna stop bugging you ‘til he got what he wanted, and that was for you to enjoy the rest of your night.

you and he had been friends for years, he understood you and vice versa. the two of you had almost the exact same music taste, same style, interests, and etc.

“hey e, c’you bring me a towel?” you called from the cracked bathroom door.

“here” he slid the towel through the crack of the door. he waited and checked his phone while he waited for you to get dressed.

you pulled out a pink glittery slip on dress and a black glittery dress out of your closet. “this one, or this one” you asked him, holding them both up to your chest for him to see.

“hm, put them on?”, “okay” you sat both of the dresses down, trying them both on one by one.

“okay, pink” you posed, waiting for his opinion.

he licked his lips, “turn around for me?”, “eren.” you frowned at him. “alright, sorry. put the other one on real quick” he laid back into your bed.

“….and, black” you said, turning around.

he stared you down, his eyes widening as he eyed how perfectly the dress had fit your body. “oh GYATDA—black dress please” he smirked.

“ ‘kay, thanks. your the best” you smiled at him.

you took about 10 more minutes to get ready before meeting him downstairs.

“now that’s what i’m talkin’ ‘bout. you look so gorgeous, baby” he complimented, and hyped you up. “really? guess you made a good choice then” you smiled. “don’t i always?” he teased.

you locked up your apartment making sure to turn the lights off as you left.

he opened the passenger door to his car, for you to get inside. you sat down and he closed the door before returning to his said of the car.

you looked up at the green sign above you when you got to the place. it read “Earth Angels”

you weren’t familiar with the place, making you wonder how he found it. he took your hand as you got out of the car, leading you to the small building.

“yo eren!” the bartender threw his hand up, greeting eren. still holding your hand he led you to the bar, you both took a seat. the place wasn’t very big, it had a fair amount of people in, not too many.

“ah this your girl?” the bartender asked, cleaning two glasses. “…yeah” he responded, making you look over at him, then back at the bartender with a smile.

“she’s a pretty lady, what’ll you be having?”, “uh, four shots of tequila” you responded. “thanks, make that six” eren cut in.

“six?!” your eyes widened in shock. “yeah, we’re celebrating” he shrugged, grabbing a shot glass, throwing it back into his mouth.you followed along, letting the burning liquor pour down your throat, your face scrunched up at the taste.

the both of you drunk a little more, laughing, joking and around and having a good time with music playing in the background. “dance with me” you pulled him up, dragging him to the dance floor.

you began to sway your hips in front of him, to the beat of the music. with the alcohol running through your system, you swore you could hear every beat and instrument. you felt good and he was right, you were definitely having fun.

“having fun?” he smiled at you, despite being drunk, you were still as gorgeous as before.

“mhm, yeah” you nodded, giggling.

“i’m glad. alright, let’s get you home” he grabbed your bag and held your hand as you both left the building.

you were still dancey and giggly the ride home, laughing at jokes eren made and dancing to the music he played. he took you back to your place and helped you up the stairs.

“im’a run downstairs real quick” he said, sitting you on your bed.

you laid on your back and kicked your shoes off, waiting for him to return.

he went and got a bottle of cold water and some ibuprofen for the hangover you were about to have in the morning.

“here” he opened the bottle of water and held it with his free hand and put the pills in your hand with his other. “take them, it’ll make you feel better. trust me”

you listen to him, taking the pills and downing it with the water he handed you. “i think..you make me feel better” you laid your head into your pillows.

he sat on the edge of your bed. relaxing himself “do i?” he responded, curious.

him getting off the bed woke you up. you didn’t want the night to end even though it was 2:30 in the morning. “ej…are you leavin’?” you sat up, looking at him.

“yeah i was gonna head home, did you need anything else?” he walked back over to the bed.

“i think you should stay” you run your hands up his neck. making eye contact with him, you slide one of your hands under his shirt.

“y/n you’re drunk” he shakes his head, moving your hand. “mhm, i know” you giggle, pulling him down onto the bed. you both lay face to face and you throw your leg over him, smiling.

“i had so much fun, y’know?”

“yeah? me too, i told you we’d have fun. y’gonna be pissed at me when you wake up though” he chuckled, imagining your reaction.

“hm? why?” you laid your face against his chest, slowing falling asleep. he sighs and kisses your forehead before closing his eyes.

I finally listened to Cupcakke's album. I know people love to harp on her obscene lyrics and humor but can I just say her instrumentals are one of a fucking kind? Some notables off the album: "Water Balloon," "Aura," "Backstage Pass," "Rock Paper Scissors," "Dora," and "Dementia." If you like these, maybe give "Catman" by TeaMarr as well.

"Skyscraper Starlight" De De Mouse. City Pop sensibilities with a modern groove factor.

"Chasing Low Vibrations" Foster the People. Not as good as previous stuff but... idk... what it is what it says on the tin. Low vibrational.

"Corazon" & "Switch It (ft Cakes da Killa, GAWD). Glossy, disco-y, and MADE to get you on the fucking dance floor! Glad to have accidentally found the latter song through Cakes Da Killa and their song "Da Dat Baby" with its gay, flashy rap. If you like those, PIVOT WITH ME, and try out "Nowhere" by Shotaro Aoyama.

"Kiss" Penicillin. Just some Visual Kei rep on this list. The sound is very nostalgic for Jrock, at least vocally. Like 1998 vibes.

"Low Threshold" Navy Blue. A rap that feels like the intersection between a confessional and a sermon.

Looking at my "Share with Tumblr" playlist... this is longer than expected so uh... kpop dumping ground?? Which is bad because these are all WILDLY different genres but... I feel like the same group of people will give them a chance so:

I don't think its their best album, by a long shot, and I miss how weird they were but Glass Animals did have a bit of a comeback from that HORRIBLE lead single. Notables: "How I learned to Love the Bomb," "Wonderful Nothing," "whatthehellishappening?" Indie pop / alt rock.

"Super Breath" Karen 0 & Danger Mouse. MTV Teen Wolf era ass song. For the peeps who liked older Metric but also MTV's curated playlists for their teen dramas.

"Stupid (can't run from the urge" underscores. If hyperpop intrigued you but kind of scared you, if you ran back to like... madeon but gayly... this is the song for you.

If you like previous recs of Alex Anwandter's music, give "Mi Corazón" by Tango Astral a shot. Similar vibes, perhaps more basic.

Kinda generic rock song but "Delusion:All" One OK Rock scratches an itch. Still don't think they've ever done better than "Clock Strikes" but I don't follow them much

Doc Tries Things That Aren't Running: Barre

"This class isn't as dancey as other barre classes."

That's because it is mostly Secret Yoga. Friends, so many of these classes have, upon reading more closely, or, horrifyingly, showing up to class, been Secret Yoga. Yoga is lurking around every corner. I am being pressured into Yoga the way DARE told me I'd be pressured into drugs.

Barre is ostensibly an exercise class that takes its cues from ballet, the thought being that ballerinas have lovely, long, lean lines, and that's entirely because they squat while on the balls of their feet and not because of selection for people with genetically long limbs and an outside propensity to a restrictive eating disorder.

I am built like a greyhound and a hobbit had an unsexy baby. No one is assuming I would ever have a ballet career, but I do love ballet, and so when I had a free space on my bingo (Read: Any class counts) I figured I would go pretend that I am tall and lithe and graceful and see what happens.

WHY AM I DOING DOWNWARD DOG? WHY IS THIS WOMAN TELLING ME TO SHINE MY HEART? WHY IS THIS NOT A VAGUELY SLAVIC WOMAN TELLING ME MY FEET ARE SHIT AND MY FACE LACKS PASSION?

I have heard that this class is difficult, especially for first timers. The deal is, in the 20 minutes we actually spend at the barre, I realize that being a weirdo my entire life has uniquely give n me an advantage in this class. I am a forefront runner, and a ball-of-foot walker. Heels are very comfortable for me because it's more or less what I want to do anyhow. I have calves of steel.

Most of the barre section of the class is variations calf raises. I can do calf raises all day.

For once, I am the king of class. I am cruising, I am killing it, I could do this all day and on into the night.

"For more of a challenge, don't put your heels down at any point!" Finally, I know what it is to be the chosen one in a fantasy novel. I have been foretold by the Matriarchs. I am at the barre in my rainbow banded terrycloth booty shorts giving Anna Pavlova (ballerina, not dessert) of the Montana YMCA.

And then she makes me do Yoga again.

In an hour long class, we were at the barre for twenty minutes and this is me being generous. I collect my sticker with the twisted mouth of one tricked into giving away her birthright.

But I was still the best.

Felix, described as a “deadbeat drug addict with seemingly supernatural luck,” can’t stop annoying the life out of the local reaper, Lloyd, every time he nearly overdoses. Lloyd himself is an ever-busy, stressed-as-heck single father, and due to unfortunate circumstance and flakey relatives, must rely on Felix as a babysitter. The only rule? DO. NOT. OPEN. HIS. DAUGHTER’S. DOOR. Yeah Felix screws up immediately and thus ensues one the most chaotic, tragic, and comedic series of events as he reaps (ha ha) the consequences of his actions. It’s amazing. Definite trigger warning for violence, language, drug use, and blood/gore (I’m a squeamish person so it’s not bad + anything is all the cutesy pastel style lol.)

He frowns, Jake lips parted when he hears nothing, just silence. “Oh no” max mumbled, “please tell don’t me I lost my baby, noooo!” She breaks down, Jake places his head on top of melanie wrapping his arms around her. The very next day melanie didn’t speak, she went numb, all her pain and anger just went blank. Jake rubs her back gently, he tried to comfort as best as he can but he feels nothing is working, she lost their baby, she feels like it’s all her fault.

Neytiri was able to get her up and walking leaving their home, neytiri hele her when we they walk through the nightly glowing forest. “Ma’Mel… look at me,” neytiri says softly, She hesitantly look up at her staring into her worried and saddened eyes, “it is hard.. but do not let this set you back, eywa has her reasons, eywa knows all, it maybe wasn’t our time,”she whispered, melanie tears up with her lips quivering “shh shh” neytiri soothes her, after a couple of days neytiri gave birth to neteyam, it felt bittersweet, she tries not let that jealous and hurt feeling get the best of her because she wants to be happy for her.

At the time of neytiri singing her songcord for neteyam welcoming into the world, menalie cried silently behind the tree during it. Jake anxiously looks around awaiting for Melanie but she wasn’t here, his eyes were up and he was tense, melanie takes a deep breath and wipes her tears. She walks out to join them but Jake already notices her puffy nose and the way she is looking that she was crying, he frowns grabbing her hand pulling her down sitting in between his legs wrapping his arms around her.

Later on neytiri held neteyam who was slowly falling asleep, “ma’mel, hold him” she said tiredly leaning up, melanie glances up at her, “hold him” she lifts him up to pass her to him, Jake walks in his eyes widen a little, she was very hesitant. “Babe…he’s your son too” Jake rubs her back sitting next to her, she leans over to hold him carefully. He squirms a bit whining making her grow scared “he’s alright he’s alright, you’re fine,” Jake reassured, little neteyam opens his eyes settling then in melanie, tears stream down her face “he’s your son too, you’re his mommy,” Jake whispered.

A little while later they found out Grace’s avatar body was pregnant, but we don’t know by who? It was a strange mystery. But, melanie grew to the baby, she was anxious and eager for the baby to arrive. They adopted their daughter, kiri. Jake felt this was a relief of her trauma with having a miscarriage with other baby boy, and she finally will feel happy to fill that void in her. Melanie happily somg her songcord holding kiri in her lap as she makes her bead, she smiled down at her daughter, later on melanie held neteyam. He held her finger while he made his cute little baby noises she loves so much. Jake watched her with a smile, Jake stood up and walked behind her humming, “how you feeling?” He asks, “never better,” she smiled, he wraps his arms around placing his chin on her shoulder “look so beautiful as a mommy, glowing” she blushed.

Hendery: $40, Half of the time chilling other half I hear him running a round, giggling, clanging pots and pans and there's no outcome or reason to it.

Renjun: Free, an absolute ray of sunshine. He'd just be laying on the floor drawing and listening to music. If he hits any of the other kids then the kids probably deserved it.

Jeno: Free, literally the chilliest will cause no trouble at all.

Haechan: $990, I don't need to explain my life would be on the line. $10 discount because he's adorable and I love him but yeah I might not survive.
