So ship question, apart from five/zahra do you have any other GT characters that hou ship?

To be honest, not much. Shipping just isn’t my thing. Five and Zahra are kind of an exception even with the other fandoms I’ve been a part of.

If I really think though.

Five and Zahra.

I ship Bergy and Blake (that girl from the spaghetti place).

I headcanon Miko as Aroace because I’m Aroace and I like Miko.

And then there’s Mitch.

I kind of jokingly and inconsistently ship Mitch with both Nameless and Nix to some extent. And by that I mean whenever it’s convenient or more importantly funny for him to either be Dating or have Dated one or both of them.

In general though apart from having a slight preference towards Five/Zahra because it’s the only explicitly canon one and the idea of Aroace Miko, I’m open to any ship that isn’t explicitly Minor/Adult or Incest or that sort of thing. Even what I said before about Five/Zahra and Aroace Miko aren’t set in stone and I’ll consume just about any content for just about any ship. Glitch Techs content is Glitch Techs content and I’m not complaining.

Five and Zahra? Sure.

Zahra and Miko? Ok.

Five and Miko? Why not?

Add Haneesh in there somewhere? Never actually seen it before but I’d check it out.

The only exception I can think of is Miko/Mitch, because:

My Aroace Miko Headcanon and the Canon? Pseudo-Canon? Widely Accepted Headcanon(?) that Mitch is gay outweighs my usually neutral attitude towards shipping.

Mitch’s age is kind of up in the air (I don’t think anything is explicitly confirmed in canon) but the general consensus (or at least my own personal view) is that he’s 18-19 so I try to avoid putting him with minors just in case. Again not sure if Mitch’s age is ever canonically revealed so I’m not judging anyone who does ship them, you do you and Mitch could very easily be the same age as everyone else, in fact that would make a lot of sense if he was, but it’s my own personal preference.

It’s a similar case for Five/Mitch, but at the same time i headcanon that Five has, or at least Had, an unrequited crush on Mitch combined with a whole bunch of hero worship before and partially after becoming a tech.

Five: Hmm…Either Chomp Kitty, Smashossaurs, or Unicorp! All three are awesome games with their own advantages!

Miko: Anything exciting, if I’m being honest, but I like games like Castlestein!

Mitch: Anything that isn’t one of those…retro games.

Zahra: Uhh…I’ll play virtually anything. But I do have a preference for games that are a mix of cozy and action, I guess? Does that sound right?

Haneesh, who was eating a sub: Kitty Collector.

Bergy: Ooh! I really like TRPGs that allow me to become Dark Crista!

Nix: *shrugs* Arcade games.

Glitch Techs Character Moodboard

You know, when I wrote my Glitch Techs fic, I was really considering of waiting until the season 2 premiere just so I could see all the things I got wrong and rewrite the fic.

Instead, I decided to post the fic a week early and torture myself over inaccuracies. So here's a list of things I messed up:

How portal tech works.

How the repair tech works.

Zahra's personality (shipship uwu).

Bergy's personality.

Miko moving into town.

How GT borders work (close but not quite).

How big Bailey actually is.

Nix existing.

At the same time, here's a thing I did get right aka saw the future!:

Glitches are attracted to Plixel constructs.

Power ups have timers.

Zahra's big blue hammer.

Mitch being a workaholic.

BITT controlling the entire facility.

Full-body scanners (they didn't use it but it was mentioned).

Finally, here are all the things I'm glad to know for future fanfic reasons!:

Miko the Birthday Ruiner (already got a plan).

Mitch's siblings + backstory and Five's dad + the family friend.

The other town's Techs (Nameless is baby).

Ridley's Believe it or Not (also got a plan).

Who's the Glitch? (It's Miko but for funny stuff)

Other types of emitters and techs (freeze tech is super cool)!

The first 3 games in existence (and Five's dad programmed the third).

Baby Miko!!!

So yeah, season 2 is definitely better than season 1. But a word of warning; don't binge-watch it. I'm still super fatigued over the excitement :((

You before watching Glitch Techs: Glitch Techs look childish, probably not for me. You, after watching Glitch Techs: If anything happened to Five and Miko, I will kill everyone in this room and them myself

LITERALLY ANON. You’re calling me out so much. I’ve only had Five and Miko for a could weeks but I would unironically do anything for them. 

My unedited thoughts on the show are below the cut if anyone wants to read it:

Excuse my rambling for a sec but Glitch Techs is so much more than just a dumb childish animation. Unlike a lot of shows where I really only warm up to one character both Miko and Five are super relatable and I like both of them sm. The supporting cast is also brilliant, where even random background characters (like Bergy) have sweet friendships and interaction with the main characters.

AND THE PLOT. Okay, so there were parts where I was like ‘a 40 year old who knows the smallest thing about gaming definitely wrote this’ but other than that, everything was really fun to watch. The base idea for Glitch Techs is great, and the execution is even better. Plot is definitely up there, with the ending for s2 (or part 2 of s1) on Netflix suuuuuper intriguing. Hinobi tech is evil calling it. 

And please do not get me started on Five and Miko. As someone with ADD having Miko as a main character is really nice. Her whole issue of ‘I can’t focus’ really resonated with me and how her focus issues and hyperactivity is treated not as a flaw, but as something that makes her, her. Well, it’s really nice. AND THEN FIVE! ngl my favourite characters usually are the goofy beanpoles but Five’s backstory was really good. Seeing the effects of a kid’s life when their parent is in prison was really heartbreaking, and watching that episode made me like him even more. Five is just a really relatable, endearing character. 

But really, it’s an animation, so I have to comment on how awesome the animation is. The style is something I was worried about but from the get-go it’s a really unique, clean style. The animation is smooth and you can tell a lot of effort has been put into the show. 

Is the show childish? Yeah. It is. But it’s made in a way that’s really enjoyable for a lot of ages. So what if it’s aimed at 12-year-olds? We’re in the middle of a global pandemic and if there’s something that’ll give you one (1) molecule of serotonin then grab it. Barring episode 2, I found that GT lacked the crude toilet humour found in too many shows these days. 

Okay I could write so much more about GT (and one day I will write something about it) and how well made it is as a show bUT y’all probably don’t care.
