Resumed my Trials & Tribulations playthrough and was like, you know what, maybe T&T really does deserve all the hype and really is the best in the og trilogy despite my favorite case being in JFA (and my second favorite case being in PWAA). After all, both 3-1 and 3-2 are both bangers.

. . . and then I got to 3-3 😬

#obviously Turnabout Big Top is fucking gross for Max & Ben grooming Regina & this never being called out on #and also iirc Phoenix also being flustered by her? fucking nasty #but the bigotry inherent in EVERYTHING about Jean Armstrong's character . . . jfc #like obvs it comes across as transmisogyny but it's not ONLY that bc it is a JP game written for a JP audience #and i *think* (tho am not positive) that Armstrong was meant to be a caricature of gay men in JP media #so his character is like transmisogyny trope here in the west + homophobic trope in Japan #(+ also homophobic here for how he hits on Phoenix & Phoenix acts grossed out)#plus ALSO there is fatphobia with the scene in the kitchen after the first trial day where he rubs oil on himself #& Phoenix has the whole ''my eyes!!!'' bit 😒#and he's a major character so can't be ignored #but THEN it's not even just him bc the old man witness Victor Kudo turns out to be a nasty old man #who goes to the restaurant to perv on the waitresses #so Phoenix throws Maya in the waitress uniform at him to get him to talk. without asking her consent beforehand 🙃#fucking gross behavior #Maya calls Mia in for the rescue but just. fucking ugh #i'm sorry but i think this is even worse than TBT. i have yet to see a single redeeming thing in this case.#p sure Turnabout Samurai is the only untainted 3rd case in the og trilogy. incredible
