Ben Hargreeves x reader
warnings: suggestive content
a/n: i'm still can't process that my fav serie it's over and with THAT kind of end. My requests are open, by the way.
Tumblr media
You feel so sick. Your bones are aching and the headache is not helping either.
And it's not helping that your friends and your stupid fling-from-the-end-of-the-world are yelling about how he did the right thing for all of you.
"Hey, Ben, shut up, my head is killing me" you yell back while you lay down on the shabby couch.
So that's how you ended up naked in a tub of the awful mansion. Thanks to Ben.
"Better?" Ben asks while he looks at how your naked body sinks in the water. You are not ashamed to be naked in front of him, you two have seen naked to each other. But he can't help but feel how his pants tight a little bit for the sight.
Anyways, he knows you're upset with him. You proved it when you slapped him this morning. But in his opinion, your life was awful, or maybe he was just so jealous knowing you were a stripper in a seedy bar.
"No, I don't feel better, I feel like I am dying" you reply and he rolls his eyes. You complain a lot.
"You are not dying, you're fine" he replies back as he looks up and down your body so you pinch his arm and he gasps softly. You are sassy.
"Hey! I was just trying to help!" he repeats again frustrated and you let out a sigh as you look at him in his eyes.
"You messed it up, Ben." "I can't help it" he whispers as he looks into your eyes.
God, you were expecting that he would call you a moron for not being happy with your badass powers back but instead, he is opening up. Just like he did on the night of the end of the world in the hotel.
So you know how the things are gonna end tonight, in this tub.
You lean your head closer to him and he instinctively does the same.
"You did bring protection, right?" You whisper softly against his lips and he chuckles and nods "Since I knew I would see you again" and then he kisses you.

The sunshine and the grump / Part 2
Tumblr media
Pairing: Sparrow!Ben Hargreeves x Fem!Reader
Summary: Sudden visitors show up on a calm day and chaos ensues. Who are they and where did they come from? But most importantly why are they here? You, your husband and his family are ready to find some answers.
Warnings: fighting, Sparrow!Ben being sparrow!Ben
Word count: 3.3k
A/n: Hi everyone, I know, it's been a while. But here is something that should have been done sooner. The second part to The sunshine and the grump. Please forgive me for this, but in this part Viktor is refered to as "Vanya" and using she/her pronouns. This is solely for the reason that this story is from the reader's point of view and she doesn't know that he's Viktor. If there's an interest in a new part, then obviously I will incorporate him coming out as Viktor. Anyway, long a/n to the side, I hope you guys will enjoy it!
Tumblr media
“Shit” broke out of the six people standing in front of you collectively.
Ben guided you behind him gently, sheltering you from the strangers.
“Ben?”
A soft sigh is all that could be heard from the guy wearing a cowboy hat. His eyes shimmered with unshed tears and you couldn’t even guess who he was and where he came from. You never saw him before and your husband wasn’t the type to make friends so easily. So why did this man know his name? Why did he look at him as if he saw a ghost?
“Is that really you?” the biggest guy walked forward, also looking distraught and his face twisted in confusion and grief.
“And who are those weirdos,” the walmart-batman guy yelled and you followed his line of sight, “on the balcony?”
Your eyebrows furrowed in slight anger, but before you could answer at all, Reginald spoke up.
“They are the Sparrows, my children.”
You felt, more than saw Ben standing up straighter and could only imagine the rest of the Hargreeves doing the same, up on the balcony.
“I’m sorry,” the small boy spoke up after the initial shock passed through his group. “What do you mean your children? That’s not possible, old man.”
“Of course it is!” Reginald exclaimed as your sibling-in-laws joined you downstairs. “I think I’d know, wouldn’t I?”
While most of the group looked at Reginald with untrusting gazes (which you could understand, he was your father-in-law and yet you didn’t trust the man fully), the cowboy hat guy was still looking at your husband with misty eyes.
“Everybody else can see Ben, right?” he asked, which made you even more confused. Why wouldn’t they be able to see your husband?
“Cute hat, Sundance” Ben said sarcastically, still keeping you behind him. You grabbed onto his arm lightly, to keep him grounded. But that’s exactly when the man noticed you and his eyes went even wider.
“Jennifer?” he asked louder, seemingly in shock and it prompted the rest of the group to look toward you, Ben’s arm curling around you protectively.
“Do not talk to my wife, asshole” he growled.
“Oh my gosh, it’s you! You- you guys are married!” cowboy hat guy gushed.
“Okay, that is it!” Ben moved to lash out against the guy, but Marcus stopped him.
“Enough” he said in his calming voice. “Who are you and why are you in our home?”
“They call themselves the Umbrella Academy,” Reginald answered instead. “A group of scheming, perfidious malcontents, who accosted me in the fall of 1963, when I was away on business in Dallas” he explained. “Be warned,“ he added, “they claim to be my spawn.”
That caught the attention of the woman with the very stylish cloak as she stepped forward.
“Claim?!” she then turned to her brother(?) in confusion. “Five, what the hell is going on?”
“I don’t know, but it’s concerning,” the little guy, Five, sighed.
“Is he telling the truth?” Marcus spoke up, looking at the so-called Umbrella Academy.
“Well, not the part about us being perfidious-” the other woman started, just to be immediately interrupted by the cowboy-hat guy.
“No, we’re amateur-fidious, at best” he said, which just confused you and, seemingly, the rest of the Sparrows as well.
“But we are his children. This is our house” the woman confirmed.
“Yeah, yeah, we, uh… We grew up here” the big guy jumped in.
“Oh, yeah, yeah, we grew up here” Alphonso mocked the guy, which made Fei and Jayme chuckle.
“I-” Sloane started. “Kinda think we would’ve noticed you.”
You could see the moment that the big guy realized who talked and just what kind of person she was. You saw his eyes light up and a dumb smile graced his features.
“Hi. I’m Luther” he stepped forward and offered his hand.
“Monkey-brain” you whispered and Ben scoffed.
“Okay” the stylish woman walked towards you. “None of you belong here.”
“What?” you asked at the same time Fei said sarcastically: “Oh, well then! I guess we’ll just pack our bags and move out.”
“Yeah and while we’re at it, how about we also give you our jobs. Clearly, you are so good at it” Christopher garbled. “Seriously, these idiots can’t even understand the fact that we are the ones living here, imagine what kind of heroes they are.”
This caused the Sparrows to laugh and even you let out a chuckle. He had a point.
“You slay me, Chris,” Ben shook his head.
The next moment Grace arrived with a plate filled with cookies. At her legs was your chonky cat C/n. He meowed lowly and hissed at the new people before darting across the space, toward Ben and you.
“I wasn’t expecting company,” Grace sighed as you leaned down to pick up C/n. “This is the best I could do on short-” she glitched and repeated the word again, “short… short notice.”
You winced as you stood up with C/n in your arms.
“It’s okay, darling boy” you whispered and started stroking his back. “They won’t hurt you. Daddy won’t let them.”
“Mom…” you heard wallmart-batman’s wistful voice, which immediately weirded you out.
And not just you, because Jayme spoke up as well.
“Mom? She’s a robot you perv” she scoffed.
“She’s not a robot!” wallmart-batman turned toward her defensively.
“Hey, don’t you call him that!” the big guy, Luther, snapped at Jayme.
“Or what?” Ben asked in defense of Jayme.
“Come closer and find out!” Luther stepped toward Ben as he started approaching the big guy as well.
“Luther! Guys, chill!” the smaller woman tried to stop Luther, while you reached out to stop Ben.
“Think I’m afraid?” Ben asked and you could feel his hostility roll off of him.
“Ben! Please” you asked him timidly, but your voice didn’t even reach him.
“Ben, stand down!” Marcus commanded, but Luther was speaking over him already and chaos started to form.
“Look at that, she’s got a voice!” he pointed at you.
“How about I hide that big Rubik’s Cube up your ass?” wallmart-batman asked, annoyed with Marcus.
“Enough!” Marcus finally shouted. “I don’t know what circus you escaped from,” Marcus started and you could see wallmart-batman touch his cheek, where something black just disappeared, “or how you got past our security, but we’re done here. You got 30 seconds to get out of our house” he said in a no-nonsense voice.
“And if we don’t?” the stylish woman asked just as you realized what was happening with wallmart-batman. You looked back at Jayme, who just shrugged.
“Then we’ll have to settle this the old-fashioned way” Marcus stepped forward, ever the leader.
You zeroed in on wallmart-batman, who looked totally out of it, sweat on his forehead and tears in his eyes.
“What did he hallucinate?” you whispered to Jayme.
“I’ll tell you later” she smirked.
“Look, we just fought a literal army. Okay?” the short woman tried to diffuse the situation. “This doesn’t need to get ugly. Let’s all just calm down and let’s talk.”
And honestly, you were on her side. You didn’t want to risk the house or your sibling-in-laws or C/n for that matter. This could definitely be…
“Psst. Ben-er-ino” cowboy hat guy sing-songed as he looked at your husband. You could see his shoulders tense even more and an exasperated sigh left him. “You look so much better alive than you do dead.”
Oh no…
“Am I right?” cowboy hat guy asked from the Umbrellas and the only thing you could do is wince. From this point onward you wished that he shut up because even you wouldn’t be able to stop your husband if he was angered by the guy. “Except the haircut” he waved his hands.
“Oh no” you winced as Alphonso reached out and pushed you even further from the Umbrellas to keep you safe. He knew just as well as any of the Sparrows: this is where it gets ugly.
“What the hell did you just say?” Ben stepped forward.
“Come on, come on!” cowboy hat guy walked toward Ben. “Stop with all the hostility, Mr. Grumpy Pants” he stopped in front of your husband and leaned forward. “Oh, nice scar! Muy macho.”
“Oof” you commented and you could hear Jayme scoff as well.
“Shut. Your. Mouth!” Ben snarled and you knew, only a string held his anger.
“You shut your mouth and hug your brother! cowboy hat guy exclaimed and opened his arms for a hug. And that’s exactly when Ben struck.
It was truly a beautiful hook that Ben delivered, you had to admit. But you wished that cowboy hat would’ve just stopped before it got ugly. You watched as he fell across the coffee table and it caused Luther to snap at Ben.
“Hey! What the hell?” he snapped. “You didn’t have to do that!”
“Oh, I’m pretty sure I did!” Ben snapped back.
“That’s right, he did!” Alphonso backed him up.
“Hey, get back! Back off!” Marcus shouted as Luther stepped closer.
“Luther!” you heard the short woman yell out as Jayme grabbed your arm and pulled you behind the counter, just as Marcus pushed Luther.
And all hell broke loose. Marcus and Luther started fighting and the Sparrows and Umbrellas paired up as well.
“Jayme, get Y/n out of here!” Ben yelled as the small Umbrella teleported toward him and started fighting with him.
You could hear yelling from both the Sparrows and the Umbrellas as they fought and you could only try to stay calm as Jayme pulled you toward the exit. But you didn’t get far as the stylish woman intercepted you and Jayme, along with the short woman. You ducked just in time as one of Fei’s ravens dived in to try and attack the stylish woman, who immediately took up the fight.
“Sloane!” Jayme yelled out and pushed you toward the woman. “Take care of her! I have a shorter problem.”
This, C/n didn’t like and he jumped out of your hands, scratching them in the process.
“Ouch!” you hissed, holding it.
“C’mon Y/n, let’s get you out of here!”
“Alright” you nodded, frantic now that the chaos started to get to you.
You could hear Jayme knock the short woman down as Sloane tried to lead you toward the stairs. But that’s exactly where Fei and the stylish lady were fighting.
“Uh… okay, plan B” Sloane stepped back and looked up at the balcony.
“Oh, please, no” you tried to plead with her. “You know I don’t…”
“Just get to your room, we’ll get you, when we’re done here” she promised and you felt her powers wrap you up and lift you toward the balcony.
You landed behind the railing and stood up. That’s when you heard the short woman say: “My turn.”
You could see her turning… white? And you knew you had to flee. Before much else could happen though, Sloane used her powers on her as well, though less gentler than she did on you.
“Shit!” you yelled out as the short woman slammed into the pictures behind you as you ducked, afraid.
But just as you stumbled through the short hallway to be able to turn right, a knife whizzed by you and you soon heard Chris’s garbled yelling.
“Y/n, be careful!”
You looked back and saw him getting chased by wallmart-batman. You quickly fell to the left, where you could turn down the corner. Just in time, because in the next moment, Chris also turned that way, knives shooting toward him. You held your head for a second, trying to gather all your courage to move. You’ve never been this close to a fight, Ben always made sure that you were in a safe distance.
“Okay, Y/n, you have to move” you told yourself, gripping your hair. You screwed your eyes shut and took a deep breath. Then you stood up and sneaked toward the walkway.
But just as you reached the main staircase that led down, you bumped into the boy. Quite literally.
“Oh, you…” he narrowed his eyes.
“Please don’t hurt me” you put your arms up, in front of your face.
“You’re harmless?” the boy arched an eyebrow, suspicious of your surrender.
“I swear! I’m just Ben’s wife, a normal human!” you pleaded.
The next moment he flashed away. You flinched, but the punch never came. Instead you heard the swooshing sound three more times and he was back at the portraits. You peered over the railing to see Jayme approach him and the stylish lady. Before you could be spotted by stylish lady, you ducked back down and continued sneaking away from the scene.
“Hey!” you were almost at the end of the hall, when you heard her yell. You tried moving forward, but she was faster. She grabbed the back of your shirt, lifting you up.
“Please, please, please, don’t hurt me” you whimpered. “I’m no one, I’m just a simple girl!”
“Yeah I don’t believe that, Jennifer!” she accused you.
“That’s the second time you called me that, but I don’t…” you breathed as you felt her grip tighten on you. “I swear I don’t know who she is! I’m just Y/n!”
“Well…”
But stylish lady couldn’t say much more as Fei appeared on the stairs.
“Y/n!” she yelled for you. “Leave her alone, you bitch!”
“That’s not a nice thing to say!” stylish lady let go of you. “I heard a rumor you couldn’t move” she whispered over you and instantly, you froze.
You couldn’t move, only watch as Fei approached her and her ravens started multiplying. Stylish lady saw this and her eyes widened.
“Actually, on second thought, screw this” she said, turning around and making a run for it.
You were left there by her, still unable to move.
“Y/n, I’ll deal with her and take care of you” Fei leaned down to you as she reached you. “I promise I’ll avenge this.”
You could only look forward as Fei left you once again. You could hear the commotion behind you as Fei’s ravens started destroying a door somewhere close to you. Not much later you actually heard the familiar swooshing sound of the boy teleporting and his frantic muttering.
Suddenly whatever spell was placed on you was broken and you fell forward.
“Oh God” you sighed out, grabbing at your elbow which you hit as you fell. You also saw the dried blood on the back of your hand where C/n scratched you. Poor kitten was probably scared out of his mind.
“Vanya, get out of there!” you suddenly heard the boy shout and you slowly stood up to peer over the railing, into the living room.
There lay the short woman on the broken table and the Sparrows slowly surrounded him. You saw her breathing hard and groaning, trying to get back up. Suddenly she started glowing white. You couldn’t make sense of it, but knew it couldn’t be any good.
“Ben, be careful!” you shouted just before she… exploded? Her energy exploded, which threw you back to the railing behind you.
It was over before you knew it and could hear the others groaning and getting up from the debris.
“Oh god…” you heard Chris garble. “What the hell was that?”
Marcus appeared in your vision and offered a hand.
“Are you okay?” he asked gently.
“Never better” you groaned, accepting his hand. He pulled you up and led you to the balcony, where he looked down at the destruction.
“It’s over” he started. “Go. Don’t come back.”
You could only focus on Ben, who stood in front of the fireplace, clutching his side. Marcus sighed next to you as him and the rest of the Sparrows watched the woman, Vanya, exit.
“Y/n” Marcus turned to you. “C’mon, I’ll take you to Grace, she’ll fix you up.”
You nodded silently, sparing another look at your husband and his family standing in the debris.
Tumblr media
You sighed as you exited the bathroom. It’s been about an hour since you got stitched by Grace (when you hit the railing it split the skin on your head open) and then you went to take a shower to freshen up. Meanwhile though, your husband was nowhere to be found around you.
You could only guess that they got a dressing down from Marcus, blaming them for the destruction. So you headed to the only place where you knew they could be: the training room.
“Y/n!” you heard Grace’s voice call out as you headed toward the room. “Do you need a smoothie too?”
“No thanks, Grace” you smiled at the robot. “I’m fine. Is that for the guys?”
“Of course, they need their greens for their training” she said as she caught up with you.
You nodded silently and opened the door in front of you.
“The skinny one is their weak link” you heard Fei say as you entered.
“Unless hiding behind couches shouting, ‘Where’s my daddy?’ is his superpower” Ben replied sarcastically.
Grace put the tray down on the table and you leaned against the wall to watch your husband stop the treadmill and slow to a walk before getting off of it.
“Enough post-gaming. They hurt Y/n and disrespected us!” he said as he walked toward you. “We need to be out there finding these freaks and taking ‘em out!”
He reached you and put an arm around you, kissing your forehead gently, which contrasted so much from his harsh words.
“Oh, you mean like this?” Marcus asked and switched whatever video was playing to the surveillance footage of the last moment of the fight. The others sighed and stopped their treadmills as well. Marcus walked in front of them and shook his head. “Can someone explain to me how you got your asses handed to you in 30 seconds?”
You sighed, massaging Ben’s back as he stiffened at Marcus’s admonishments.
“Do you have any idea what would happen to our reputation if anyone had seen that?!” he yelled at the end, pointing to the TV screen. “I mean we hadn’t faced any decent enemies for years. This could be good for us. Good for business. But only if we’re smart with our next moves.”
“Is that all you care about?” you spoke up suddenly, annoyed to see that the version of him that only cared about missions and being famous came out.
“I’m sorry?” he turned toward you.
“Did you even try to think about what these people could be here for? That what they were saying is true?”
“Y/n…” Ben shushed you. “Don’t make things worse, darling.”
“I’m not trying to. But did you even notice their faces? When they were talking, when they looked at you?” you looked at him. “The way they fought? I mean tell me if their style doesn’t seem familiar…”
“Y/n, this discussion is not for you. Our next move is not for you to decide” Marcus spoke up sternly. “You are not a Sparrow. You are not part of the team.”
“Fine” you gritted your teeth, then pulled out of Ben’s arms and turned around, just as Reginald came in.
“Nice one dipshit” Ben snarled at Marcus.
“You summoned, Number One?” Reginald asked Marcus.
Marcus regarded Ben and you for a second, before looking at Reginald.
“Sit” he said and you walked out.
You leaned against the wall as the door closed behind you and took a deep breath. You thought about all that the Umbrellas said before the fight ensued. And one thing stuck out.
It looked like they recognised you. But not all of them. And they called you… someone. Some other name… what was it?
Oh yeah, Jennifer. But who was this Jennifer?

The Sparrow academy was out. Freshly returning from a mission. Some of them still had blood splatters on their uniform. – “Urgh now I have to wash my uniform again.” – Alphonso said looking at his own shirt. Jayme rolled her eyes at him. Sloane walked up to him. – “No worries Alphonso mom will wash the blood out like she always does.” – she reassured him, holding a hand against his cheek. Alphonso chucked sweetly.
Fei clicked her tongue, looking away bothered. Christopher soaring around her. Annoyed she shooed him away from around her. Chistopher soared to Marcus who patted him gently on the block. – “Let’s report back to father.” – he said getting everyone’s attention. Everyone hummed as they started to go after Marcus. Ben’s eye fell on someone familiar as he was hesitant.
“Actually…” – he started making his siblings pause brief. – “I’ll meet you all at the academy.” – he said holding a finger up, without looking at his siblings. – “Be home save.” – Sloane shouted whilst Ben already walked off. Jayme rolled her eyes clearly at her. – “What? Can’t I say to be save?” – Sloane replied making Jayme groan loud. – “It’s the girl.” – Fei spoke making everyone look at her. Fei pointed with her finger forwards.
All their eyes following as across from the street, they saw Ben cross over to go over to a group of people. Amongst them you. – “Aww.” – Alphonso said with a hand on his heart. – “Yuk.” – Jayme called out spitting at the ground. The ground startled sizzling with acid. Marcus nudged Alphonso to keep up as they were heading back for the academy. Ben approached the group of people as you didn’t notice him at first.
“Ben!” – you called out happily. Ben gave you a sour smile in return. – “Yo wait isn’t he from the bird academy?” – a boy called out. – “Sparrow.” – Ben clarified with a glare. You moved around your friends going over to him. – “Ben… are you okay?” – you questioned seeing some specks of blood on his neck. Ben touched his neck, looking down at his glove, barely seeing anything on it. – “I am!” – he answered, grabbing you firm by your wrist. Pulling you away from your friends. – “What is the meaning of this?” – he asked.
You furrowed your brows, looking behind you. – “These are my friends.” – you told him as Ben started to laugh loud. Almost mockingly as he wouldn’t believe these were your friends. – “You’ve got no friends Y/n. Just me.” – he reminded you with a smirk. Bothered you pulled your hand away. – “Stop being mean!” – you told him. – “Oh I’m being mean?” – Ben shouted back. – “Yes.” – you made clear. – “I’ll show you being mean!” – he pushed you aside, glaring at your friends. – “You better run.” – he told them, tilting his head a bit. From out of his chest emerged his tentacles.
Your friends started screaming, taking a run for it. Ben shifted his posture a bit as he moved a tentacles at the boy insulting his academy. He laughed manically when the tentacles had wrapped around him. Up in the air, he was dangling to his pleasure. – “Ben stop!” – you called out, having enough. Seeming that he wouldn’t listen, you ran up to him. Grabbing him by his arm, to shake him out of this nightmare. Three of your friends dangling in the air as Ben laughed loudly.
Amusing yourself with them. – “Ben that’s enough!” – you made clear. Ben groaned loud, pushing you aside. You got flung against the wall. Groaning in pain. Ben dropped your friends as they started running for their lives. – “Freak!” – one of them called out. Ben was smiling, turning himself to you. He picked you up from the ground, holding you up against the wall by your shoulder. – “Like I said no friends.” – he said. – “Asshole!” – you cursed back at him. Ben’s gaze hardened as he tensed his jaw. He then let go of you, taking off.
Stunned and baffled you didn’t know what overcame him. Never had he acted out so bad towards you. Never has he taunt you so much to make your life miserable. You just knew they wouldn’t want to be your friends anymore. Probably telling around so that everyone would keep their distance from you. And so it was. Wherever you walked in the street, you heard the whispers. That you were associated with the Hargreeves freaks.
To many, a bunch of freaks manufactured in a lab filled with poisonous toxins. Afraid their toxins would rub off on them and make them sick. Preferring to stay as far as possible from them. Everyone looked at you, like you were a disease all because of Ben. All because Ben decided to toy with some of your friends. If he hadn’t scared them, your life wouldn’t be miserable now. People left the shops whenever you entered or they casted you out.
You sat on a bench in the park, throwing the last of your bread at the doves. – “Aww sad and alone Y/n.” – you heard from behind you. Without even looking up, you knew who it was. Ben Hargreeves. He came jumping over the bench to sit with you. – “What do you want?” – you asked him bitsy. – “Oh someone is snappy.” – he teased poking you in the cheek. It made you slap his hand away. – “Because of you I am practically cast out of society!” – you told him, wanting him to know the consequences of his actions.
“Boohoo.” – Ben said bored, leaning back against the bench. His reaction made you almost lose your mind. – “I thought we were friends!” – you nearly screamed at him. Ben looked at you, quirking an eyebrow up before bursting out in laughter. Annoyed you got up, not wanting to be near him. Ben got up with a tensed expression.
You gasped when a tentacle wrapped around you. Lifting you up from the ground as it made you twirl up till you were in front of Ben. Feeling the slimy tentacle swivel around you. Ben moved you closer, coming nose to nose. Your expression angry. – “Feeling real tough now?” – you mocked at the power he had over you. Ben moved you even closer that he was nearly breathing you. His gaze flashed down to your lips, taking them in for a second before flashing his gaze back up.
“Very.” – he responded moving the tentacle back. Gasping loud, you felt yourself being pulled back with force. Tentacle releasing from around you as it tossed you away. With a scream you fell into the pond, disturbing the ducks as they flew for safety. Ben started laughing loud, taking his phone out to take pictures. You couldn’t laugh at all. Resurfacing, spewing some water out.
Ben waved you mockingly goodbye. You swam to the edge, crawling out drenched. Laying in the grass out of breath. Taking out your phone, you went to Ben’s number. Blocking it immediately as frankly you had enough of his hell-bound attitude. Whatever he was dealing with, he needn’t act it out on you. His ‘perhaps’ only friend. Yet he had just lost that privilege as you didn’t want anything to do with him anymore. The more he staid away, the better.
No more tormenting you with words or toying with you like a puppet. You were neither of those things. Soaking wet, your cloths weighed down as you made your way out of the park to your house. Hoping you’d avoid Ben more than enough. Luckily it seemed to work as for over a week now you hadn’t heard anything from him. Till one night he came knocking on your door.
There was loud pounding on the door. It startled you, making you jump out of your skin. Slowly getting up from the sofa, you wondered who it would be at this Godly hour. Seeing the clock, you saw it was rounding up to twelve. Moving into the hallway, there were more pounding. Making you gasp loud, muscles pulling together from fright. Then there was silence. Waiting in the hallway, you hoped they would disappear. Clash!
The door broke down as it made you scream loud. – “You’ve been ignoring your phone Y/n.” – Ben said stepping over your door on the floor. Eyes widening, you started running towards the stairs. Ben released his tentacles as they reached out. One strapped around your ankle. Pulling with a hard snap at you. Falling flat on the ground forwards. – “Ben let go!” – you screamed as he started to pull you closer to him. – “I’m not done playing with you.” – he said angrily. Your hands grabbed a cabinet as you held onto it. – “Why are you ignoring me Y/n?” – he asked making his tentacles pull harder at you.
Wanting you to let go of the cabinet. – “Payback asshole!” – you shouted trying to kick at his tentacle. Ben called it out, whipping another tentacle at your hands. Screaming, you let go being hit on the hands. The tentacle dragged you over the floor to him. Ben set his foot down on your body. – “You shouldn’t have ignored me.” – he made clear, leaning down to pick you up from the ground.
Breathing frightened, you were at eye-level of him. – “Ben…” – you begged not sure what he would do. Ben stared with a hardened expression at you. Lured in by his gaze, you started to see another meaning behind them. Loneliness? Did he perhaps felt alone?  Was it a reason for him to lash out. Did he feel like he was losing your friendship? Or was he simply feeling all alone in this world? Ben’s gaze was with pity for a moment before his expression hardened once more.
“Ben…” – you whispered out feeling his tentacle slither up your leg to your stomach. Curling around you to keep you in place. – “What are you becoming?” – you asked with worry. – “Nothing!” – Ben shouted back as you felt the tentacle tighten around you. It made you yelp soft at the sudden tension. – “I don’t like this side of you.” – you told him clear off. – “Too bad Y/n!” – Ben answered. His tentacle slithering higher up. You felt it slither around your chest and over your shoulders.
Ben’s gaze still on you as they slowly drifted to your lips. You felt yourself get pushed closer to him. Inches away from him. Your eyes widened feeling the tentacle slither more up towards your neck. The muscles tightening around your throat. Ben didn’t seem to notice, his gaze fixated on your eyes. Your eyes widened a bit, yelping out a soft sound. The strength of his tentacles, slowly suffocating you. – “Ben…” – you shrieked out, choking. Your airpipe getting shut as you were breathless. Ben’s gaze went rapidly over your expression. Trying to scan and interpret it.
It took him a few seconds to understand. Shocked he jumped back. His tentacles releasing on you as you dropped to the ground. Having no idea his tentacles were doing this to you. Sure he was a bit angry at you for ignoring him, but he didn’t want to kill you. – “Y/n!” – he shouted in fear, retracting his tentacles. He sunk to his knees, pulling you onto his lap. – “Y/n breath! Come on Y/n. Don’t die on me now!” – he called out, pressing his hand against your cheek. Not sure what to do, he leaned down, pressing his lips onto yours.
Spreading your lips with his, he blew air into your lungs. Just one blow was enough for you to get a freakish feeling. Jumping up and pushing Ben away from you. Ben blinked stunned at you whilst you coughed loud. – “The hell Ben!” – you yelled at him, wanting to punch him. Ben caught you by surprise, wrapping his arms around you. – “Good you are still here.” – he whispered to you. – “Thought I was leaving you?” – you asked, giving him a punch against his back. You felt his head rub out a yes against your shoulder.
It made you wrap your arms tighter around him. – “I’m not going anywhere silly squid.” – you told him. – “You just didn’t need to make my life hell because of your fears.” – you accused him with a glare. – “Sorry.” – he let out ashamed. You gave him a playful shove against his head for being so annoying. – “Do you need some more CPR Y/n?” – he asked. – “What? No?” – you responded confused. Before you knew it, Ben had pushed his lips onto yours, cupping your cheeks. You happily kissed him back. Knowing it was all a charade to hide his true fears. Fear of ending up alone.

control~ Marcus Hagreeves
Tumblr media
Wearning: +18,smut, english is not my first language.
It was a grey afternoon in San Francisco, and you, Y/N, were in a dark room, tied to a chair. The Sparrow Academy had taken you hostage, and their goal was clear: to find out who you really were and what your power was. But you didn’t mean to make it easy for them.
At that moment, Marcus Hargreeves, the Sparrow’s number one, entered the room. His dark eyes were watching you with an intensity that made you uncomfortable, but at the same time fascinated you. He was a born leader, but there was something different about him when it came to you.
«Y/N,» he began, trying to keep his usual serious air, «we must talk about your powers. How did you beat my brothers?» You leaned forward, an ironic smile on your lips. «Maybe it’s not just me who has powers, Marcus. Maybe your brothers are not up to the task.»
He squinted, torn between wanting to keep control and the irritation you caused. «This is no time for jokes, Y/N. This is serious. We’re in danger and you have information that we need.» «Serious, huh?» You answered, crossing your arms. «I think it’s getting a little hard to keep up your hard-core charm. Do you want me to help?»
Marcus turned around, trying to pull himself together. He always put missions first, but with you it was different. Every time you looked at him with those sweet, provocative eyes, he felt his determination falter. «You can’t just ignore the gravity of the situation,» he countered, trying to stay rigid.
«And you can’t ignore the fact that you have a soft spot for me,» you replied, raising an eyebrow. «You should learn not to be distracted, Marcus.». «I... have no weaknesses,» he hastened to say, but his voice trembled slightly.
You were silent for a moment, then added, If you don’t want to admit it, that’s fine. But I am here, tied to this chair, and I could get free at any moment. So let’s talk about me, not you.» Marcus came closer, his piercing gaze fixed on you. «What do you want from us? Why don’t you tell us what you know about your power?»
«It’s you who didn’t understand,» you replied, your most serious tone. «My power is not just one thing. It’s a part of me, and I don’t care to tell you everything. You should know that I’m not just a pawn in your game.»
«Then do yourself a favor and start collaborating. I don’t have all day, Y/N,» he replied, trying to keep calm, but the frustration was palpable in his voice.
«What if I don’t want to cooperate? What will you do? You’ll keep me here until you decide to be nice?»
He took a step back, trying to regain control of the situation. «Y/N, this is not a game. If you don’t answer, there will be consequences.»
«Consequences?» you chuckled, «You have no idea what the real consequence is. I’ve faced much worse.» Marcus stopped, his eyes paused for a moment. «You know I don’t want to hurt you. It’s not what I want,» he admitted, but immediately afterwards he tried to get himself together. «You just have to tell us what we know.»
The way he looked at you, with that mixture of frustration and desire to understand, was slowly breaking down his defenses. Despite the situation, you felt powerful. You knew that his rigor was beginning to falter, and you couldn’t help but enjoy it.
«If you really want to know, you could start treating me with a little more respect. Maybe have a nice dinner, and then we can talk.» You said it in a joke. «You’re not in a position to ask for favors,» he replied, but his tone was lighter, as if he was struggling with the idea of giving up.
«Oh, come on, Marcus. Don’t be boring. Please make a little effort.» The air between you was tense, a struggle between duty and desire, and you knew you were testing it. And at that moment, the real challenge was not just your power, but the power you had over him.
Marcus snorted, clearly frustrated. «Y/N, I can’t believe we’re wasting time with this discussion. We-»
At that moment, the door opened and Alphonso, number four of the Sparrow Academy, entered. «Hey, Marcus, you need a hand with... what’s going on here?» he asked, raising an eyebrow at the sight of the situation.
«No, it’s all right,» replied Marcus, with a certain coldness in his voice, as he turned away from you. «You can go back to what you were doing.» he said, trying not to look agitated. Alphonso shook his head, giving you one last look before leaving the room. «If you need help, give a whistle. I don’t want you to get hurt.»
Once alone, the tension between you and Marcus is back. With a smirk, you decide to keep mocking him. «See? Alphonso knows you’re too stiff. Maybe you should relax a little.» Marcus approached you, his expression a mix of determination and confusion. «That’s not the point. We must stay focused e-»
«And what? Keep questioning me? You’re not even a good interrogator, Marcus. You should try using a little more... charm.» Your voice was provocative, a mischievous smile spread over your face.He stood before you, his look ardent and penetrating. «Charm, eh? And you think you know what it is?» he said
«Sure. I can show you,» you replied, moving closer. There was something magnetic between you, a palpable energy that made you feel alive. Marcus, struggling, bit his lower lip, trying to keep control. «We shouldn’t...»
«Oh, come on! You’re so serious that you can’t even afford a moment of lightness?» You were so close to him that you could feel his breath, hot and irregular. «Not a good idea, Y/N...»
«And why not?» I asked, my heart beating hard in my chest. «Why are you afraid of getting lost in this game?» That spark of provocation was the last stimulus he needed. With a sudden movement, he bent down and kissed you, a gesture full of passion and desire. His lips were hot against yours, and for a moment the outside world vanished.
You reciprocated, letting the kiss intensify. You couldn’t deny the attraction you felt for him, and at that moment, everything else disappeared. When they finally separated, you were both breathing heavily. Marcus looked at you in surprise, as if he did not expect such a strong reaction. «Y/N, this... was not part of the plan,» he said, trying to regain control of the situation.
«What plan, Marcus? To question me or to resist what you feel?» you replied, your gaze fixed in his eyes. You knew you shook him, and the smile on your lips showed how much fun it was.
«I cannot be distracted» he muttered, but his words sounded less convincing.
You watched him with your hypnotic gaze as he was losing control of himself by looking at you. «let go marcus» you said and Marcus looked at you for a second then swerve on your lips kissing you passionately and you sucked his lip and he groaned.
You freed yourself with your magic as you approached him to sit him in the chair while you undressed and he also undressed while you rode on his horse and you kissed again. You started rubbing your pussy on the tip of marcus' dick and both of you groaned. He put his hands on your bottom and increased your movements as you both groaned. Marcus tried to calm me down with kisses but it was very difficult for both of us.
«you’re so beautiful when you lose control» you whispered to him as you kept moving and then raised your hips to put his big cock inside of you making both groan.
«god you feel so good y/n» he said as he guided you through the movements and you started bouncing off his cock. You both came and kissed while your pussy was still inside his cock.
At that moment Alphonso came in, still worried about Marcus. «marcus you need hel--oh god» he said and then turned to look at the wall so that you did not see above him.
Marcus stiffened as he saw Alphonso while you chuckled as you pulled your pussy off his cock and he grunted for the lack of your pussy. You started to dress while marcus quickly dressed also he as he looked at you badly and approached alphonso.
«it’s not as you think» he said, unable to believe that he was caught.

Chapter 1 - We Only See Each Other At Weddings and Funerals
Tumblr media
Summary
30 years ago, a woman named Deidre went into an unexpected labor and promptly gave the baby up. 30 years later, that baby is celebrating the death of the asshole that adopted her.
Warnings? Click here
On the 12th hour of October 1st, 1989, 43 women around the world gave birth. This was unusual only in the fact that none of these women were pregnant when the day first began.
Crown Heights, New York
October 1st, 1989
11:30ish
A young woman in her mid to late twenties sat next to the window of the Caribbean restaurant she frequented. The restaurant’s logo was on the window, blocking her face from the view of any passerby. She sat there patiently waiting for her order of Macaroni Pie with a side of fried rice. The same thing she always ordered.
The shouting of the staff and the music filling providing ambiance was nothing compared to the other world she was drowning herself in through the novel The Queen of The Damned. It was Anne Rice’s most recent work in her Vampire series, detailing the melancholic misadventures of several vampires as they contemplated the meaning behind their eternal existence.
“Deidre!”
A voice called out to her.
The woman--Deidre--looked up from her book to see one of the waitresses with her order, placing the styrofoam container in front of her.
“Thank you.” Deidre said softly.
The waitress nodded with a soft smile before leaving to tend to other customers. Deidre closed her book, leaving a corner of the page bent so she can find her spot later. She smiled down at her food, after a long day at work, she deserved this. She was never one to deny herself a little self-care.
Deidre took one bite and then she started to feel…weird.
There was a pain in her stomach and the intensity just kept building more and more. She looked down to see a sight she wasn’t prepared for, nor was anyone else in the restaurant when they turned to the screaming woman and watched as her stomach grew larger and larger.
It was like witnessing an accelerated pregnancy. Then her water broke. Everyone scrambled to get her comfortable and prepare for the birth of this…miracle child that grew in the span of like 10 seconds. Spare table cloths were used as blankets to wrap the bundle of confusion as she came into the world screaming. The anxieties were only made worse by the lights flickering in the store.
For all it was worth, the baby was healthy in every way. Of course, the news stations flocked to see their local miracle baby. 42 other babies around the world had been born on the same day in similar circumstances.
Of course, it was made even weirder when an old man with a monocle came to the apartment complex looking for the baby.
And there the baby was, swaddled in a soft faded red blanket. Deidre got nervous as the man leaned in closer to inspect the baby.
“A-Are you with the government?”
The man stood up straight. “Heavens no!” he proclaimed. “The child? How much do you want for it?”
“What?!”
“How much? I’m willing to pay whatever amount you wish for the child.”
Deidre looked down at the baby before looking up at the man. She sat there silently for a bit before she spoke again. “Any amount?”
Thus, that child was the 8th baby adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves and brought to the Umbrella Academy. When all the children’s powers began truly manifesting, The baby became the most useful to a team unit, being able to heal others with light.
Even though they were all the same age, Number 8 was looked at as the youngest because of her demeanor. To keep it simple, she was a crybaby. One that easily led with a few choice words and harsh stares. It was both a blessing and a curse.
She was later named by their “mom” to be Y/N Hargreeves. Then 17 years later, after the death of Ben, Y/N Hargreeves was the first to leave the academy. In the dead of night, when most everyone slept, she went to her and Ben’s special room and climbed out through the window and was never seen again.
The designated “baby” and healer was the first pillar to fall and soon after, all the others did too.
———✨————
30 years later
Club Galerie
“Well, that was certainly a show you put on, Y/N.” Mother Hera sashayed in your direction as you leaned against the bar, still in your performance attire…sort of.
“What can I say? I was born to dazzle~” You added a bit of flair as you flashed some jazz hands, white light softly emitting from your fingertips.
She chuckled as she patted you on the back. “I thought I told you not to take gift shots anymore?”
“Who am I to deny the people?” You slurred.
“Well, make sure you count your tips for the night before you pass out, sweetie, hmm?”
“Yesssss…mother~”
Hera shook her head with a smile as she walked behind the bar, flicking on the small television. The sudden bright light in a sea of dim had no issue catching your attention as you squinted at the screen.
The words “breaking news” plastered on the screen as a news anchor announced the death of eccentric and reclusive billionaire, Sir Reginald Hargreeves….your dear old dad.
You scoffed. “Holy shit…the bastard finally croaked.”
Hera crossed her arms. “Hmm…how you feeling?”
You were silent. “...I dunno…”
News like this should’ve had you through the roof. You’ve always hated him for how he treated you and the others. Of course, you had heard that the others eventually left the academy minus Luther but that didn’t surprise you.
So why didn’t it feel…good?
Why didn’t something in you feel fulfilled?
The bane of your existence was dead and you didn’t even feel a flutter happening in your soul.
“The fuck is up with that?” You muttered.
“Is there gonna be a funeral? Need some company?”
“Nah, with my siblings, it’ll be awkward as hell for an outsider to be in between that. ‘Specially if a fight breaks out.”
“That happen often?”
“Oh yeah. Mostly between Luther and Diego. No, I should go alone. Someone’s gotta be the first piss on the old man’s grave and I’ll be damned if it isn’t me.”
Mother Hera giggled. She remembers when she first met you. At first, it was here and there. Seeing you sneak into some of the clubs to watch the performers. You had such good etiquette too. Knew to tip them well during their numbers by watching everyone else do so.
Then, she started seeing you more and more. It hit her that you might be homeless, so she offered you a home. Ended up teaching you everything you know now. You never knew how much you needed a parental figure like her.
None of your other siblings would probably believe the amount of progress you made with your powers and their evolution. Hera had a different approach than your dad.
Of course, she didn’t know much about being one of the miracle children but she figured the same approach to parenting would work, and it did.
Now your “new and improved and untraumatized” self would be reuniting with your siblings. Well, minus Klaus who you had already been in frequent communication with AKA you bailed him out of jail, picked him up from rehab, and gave him a place to crash every so often.
Vanya, you called every few months to check on her but nothing more. Everyone else? Nah.
“Hera, I'm gonna be on leave for a bit.”
Mother nodded as she watched you sway out of the bar. She let out a heavy exhale. “Lord, that child needs all the help she can get.”
——✨——
“The world is a cruel place, Number 8! Filled with cruel people! And none of them will care that you’re a wailing child!”
——✨——
You were jolted awake by the cab’s sudden stop. Peering out of the window at the extravagant entrance to the academy. You were so smug about the idea of strutting back in there but now?
Nothing but dread as you stepped out of the vehicle.
“My darling~ Glowbug!”
You smirked, looking over to see Klaus in his usual eccentric attire with his usual walk like the ground was nothing but a seesaw.
Number 4 wasted no time in throwing his arms around you. Surprisingly, he didn’t smell too much like liquor but that was probably because he was intoxicated on something else.
“Klaus, please tell me why the rehab let you out?”
Flashing his signature smile, “I’m drug-free, babe. I was given a second chance at freedom.”
“Second chance? Klaus!” You tilted your head to the side in disbelief.
Klaus frowned. “Don’t give me that look.”
“What have you been on since you’ve been out?” You asked, putting your hands on your hips.
“Everything!” Klaus heard Ben yell.
“Nothing!” He responded, immediately turning around to hush his dead brother which earned an eyebrow raise from you.
“Are you still…talking to Ben?”
The spirit waved in your direction despite knowing you didn’t see him. “Tell her I said hi.”
“No!” He glanced back at Ben and flipped him off. “Just some annoying sidewalk spirit.”
“How’s the club? I miss mother~”
“Mother does not miss you or your unpaid tab.” You told him, walking through the doors with him trailing behind you.
Stepping back into the main hall was like stepping through a time machine. It didn’t seem like a single thing changed since you left all those years ago.
“It’s like…looking at an old picture.” Klaus mused. “Feels weird being in here and not hearing dad yell at us.”
You softly laughed. “I know, right?”
Like clockwork, you ascended the stairs and walked to your favorite spot, Mom’s gallery. A smile formed as you remember the days of just sitting there with mom. Quietly enjoying each other’s company.
She would be cross-stitching and you’d be trying to replicate the paintings on the wall, especially the woman she admired so much. If there’s any good that came out of this place, it’s that mom helped you find your calling.
“Y/N?”
You turned to see Luther standing there with a stunned expression. It wasn’t all that surprising that he seemed to have gotten bigger.
“Hey, bro. Long time no see.” You smirked in his direction.
“Y-yeah, it’s been…awhile. Wow, you look…”
You giggled. “Yeah, I know. I’ve been experimenting with my look, like it?”
He was silent for a moment. “Yeah, it suits you.”
The two of you stood there in silence.
“Is anyone else here?” You asked.
“Just Diego.”
“Oh yeah? And how’s our little *he-rago?”
“Still Diego.”
Luther came closer. “It’s really nice to see you again.” You backed up a bit. Why did you feel weird?
“Yeah…nice to see you too.”
He gave a curt nod before walking past you.
“Oh! Klaus is also somewhere here.”
Luther was about to say something but stopped himself, seemingly already exhausted with the idea of running into him before he continued downstairs.
“Jesus, you too?” A voice spoke to you in a cold tone. “First Vanya, now you?”
It was none other than Diego, decked out in black tactical gear. You scoffed.
“What bank are you about to rob?”
“Why did you even come back here?” He was not amused by your comment. “You were the first of us to leave.”
“Well, it’s nice to see you too, Diego. Thought you’d be happy to see me. After all our last words to each other—well…your last words to me were pretty harsh.”
“So harsh you couldn’t handle it and ran away.”
“Running away is so negative, I prefer pursuing greener pastures than letting that old fart sacrifice me like a goat.” Your words were laced with such hatred that it made Diego a tiny bit proud.
“So why are you here?”
You shrugged. “I figured we were all gonna piss on his grave…and I call first dibs.”
With that, Diego brushed past you and continued downstairs to the house. So far, reuniting with Luther felt weird but Diego felt just right.
When Ben died, Diego blamed you in a fit of grief for letting him die. You remember getting so pissed that you blew out his bedroom lights, leaving your mother to replace them.
Luther wasn’t as antagonistic towards you but you always despised how he chased after your dad’s approval even at the expense of everyone else’s well-being.
Maybe you were feeling empty that Luther wasn’t more pissed off at you? Maybe a part of you was itching to tell him off?
With a moment of quiet, you sat down on the ottoman mom always reserved for you. You’re surprised that your father didn’t order her to put it away. Maybe she waited for you, hoping that you’d change your mind and come back home, back to your chair.
You laughed to yourself. ‘That’s a stupid thought.’
“Y/N…it’s good to see you.” An English-accented voice spoke to you. It was Pogo, your father’s right hand. “It’s been so long.”
You flashed a weak smile. “Hey Pogo.”
He calmly approached you with the assistance of his cane. “I was unsure if you would come.”
You were silent for a moment before leaning back against the railing that the ottoman was pressed up against.
“Yeah well…your shitty dad only dies once…gotta bask in it while you can.”
Pogo sighed. He wasn’t surprised that even you were relieved and enjoying this in some way. Not that he could blame you or your siblings after the way Sir Hargreeves raised you.
“You were still so young when you left. Did you have any hard times?”
“Homeless for a little bit…” That answer hurt his soul. “Then Mother Hera took me in. She’s good people.”
Pogo nodded. “I’m glad to hear that everything worked out for you. I wonder, are you still pursuing art?”
“Yep. Once mom opened that can of worms, there was no stopping me. I’m a cabaret performer. Who knew I shine on stage with a little bit of…razzle-dazzle.” Again, your fingertips lit up.
Safe to say, it was your favorite little party trick. Normal humans ate it up every time.
“That’s good to hear that you found something you can be passionate about. Being a superhero…was always a rough life for you.”
A pair of footsteps were heard ascending the staircase. “Y/N?” You heard. You already knew it was Allison.
You turned to face your sister. She seemed shocked but also happy to see you standing there.
“You actually came?”
You didn’t even give her a chance to continue before harshly brushing past her and heading downstairs. “Later Pogo.”
——✨——
Luther had called a meeting in the lobby. You stood before Five’s portrait as you waited for everyone to file in. Each sibling took a seat while Klaus played in the bar.
“Um…I guess we should get started.” Luther spoke as he stood up. “So I figured we could have a sort of memorial service in the courtyard at sundown. Say a few words, just at dad’s favorite spot?”
You snarked. “Where? in hell?”
Allison looked at Luther in confusion. “Dad had a favorite spot?”
Luther nodded. “You know, under the oak tree.”
There was a brief moment of silence before the big man continued.
“We used to sit out there all the time. None of you ever did that?”
Klaus sauntered over with a glass in his hand. “Will there be refreshments? Tea? Scones? Cucumber sandwiches are always a winner.”
“What? No. And put that out. Dad didn’t allow smoking in here.”
“What’s he gonna do? Rise from the grave to put it out?”
“Is that my skirt?” Allison asked Klaus, this caused you to finally turn to face everyone.
Klaus was, indeed, wearing a skirt.
“What? Oh, yeah, this. I found it in your room. It’s a little dated, I know,” he stood in the center of the room to lazily pose. “but it’s very breathey on the bits.” He joked.
“Listen up.” Everyone’s attention turned back to Luther. “Still some important things that we need to discuss, all right?”
Diego spoke up finally. “Like what?”
“Like the way he died.”
“And here we go.” Diego smirked in disbelief.
You sighed. “Luther, the elderly die from heart attacks every day, dad’s not special.”
Vanya nodded in your direction. “Are you saying it wasn’t a heart attack?”
“According to the coroner, it was.” Luther answered.
Vanya shrugged. “They would know, right?”
“Theoretically.”
“Theoretically?” Allison asked like she wasn’t believing what Luther was suggesting either.
You rolled your eyes. This was the aspect of Luther you hated. Always wanting to do a mile when your dad only wanted an inch.
“I’m just saying, at the very least, something happened. The last time I talked to dad, he sounded strange.”
“Oh, quelle surprise!” Klaus gurgled, earning a look of disgust as you went over and lightly hit him in the arm before sitting next to him.
“Don’t be gross.” You muttered to him.
“Strange how?” Allison questioned.
“He sounded on edge. Told me I should be careful who to trust.”
“Luther,” Diego stood up from his seat. “he was a paranoid, bitter old man who was starting to lose what was left of his marbles.”
“Bold of you to assume he had any to begin with Diego.”
“No. He must have known something was going to happen.” He turned to Klaus. “Look, I know you don’t like to do it, but I need you to talk to dad.”
Allison scoffed while you let out a loud exhale. Klaus groaned.
“I can’t just call dad in the afterlife and be like, “Dad, could you just…stop playing tennis with Hitler for a moment and take a quick call?”
You chuckled.
“Since when? That’s your thing.”
“Not when he's in a bad state of mind…” you let out.
“You’re high?”
Klaus didn’t even try to deny it. “Yeah! Yeah! I mean, how are you not, listening to this nonsense?”
“Well, sober up, this is important.”
You crossed your arms. “That’s now how drugs work, Luther.”
Klaus gestured in your direction, agreeing with you.
“Whatever, there’s also the issue of the missing monocle.”
Diego rolled his eyes. “Who gives a shit about a stupid monocle?”
“Exactly.” Luther turned to Diego. “It’s worthless. So whoever took it, I think it was personal.” He started looking at everyone around the room. “Someone close to him. Someone with a grudge.”
“Where are you going with this?”
“Oh, isn’t it obvious, Klaus? He thinks one of us killed dad.”
A wave of silence filled the room as everyone’s look of realization aimed at Luther, gradually replaced with a look of offense and shock.
“You do?”
There was more silence until you spoke up. “Pretty big claim coming from the one who never left dear old daddy’s side.”
“How could you think that?” Vanya was stunned.
Luther, being put in a negative spotlight, looked like he tried to find the right words.
Diego mocked him as he left. “Great job, Luther. Way to lead.”
Luther’s words were coming out broken. “That’s not what I’m saying.”
Klaus was the next to get up. “You’re crazy, man. You’re crazy. Crazy.”
“I’m not finished.” He tried to be stern with his words but that failed.
“Ok well sorry, I’m just gonna go murder mom. Be right back”
You and Vanya stood up, leaving the room together.
“That’s not what I was saying. I didn’t…”
Finally, Allison stood up and began walking out.
“Allison…”
He stood there alone. “That went well.”
——✨——
At first, you wanted to head right back to mom’s space but instead decided to a special place that you remembered vividly even after all these years.
You and Ben’s special place. Whenever the both of you wanted to just get away from everyone else. You always snuck off here. You stumbled upon it first. It was halfway painted, almost like it was meant to be another room for more students but it had long been abandoned since your father was only able to get eight of you, seven if you discount Vanya having no powers.
You and Ben didn’t even have to have long-winded conversations. You simply enjoyed each other’s company. He sat in a corner reading while you occupied yourself with doodling on the walls.
Sometimes you drew childish stuff like daisies and simple fairies, other times you created something so detailed and beautiful that Ben simply HAD to put down whatever he was reading and take it in.
Your fingers brushed against the wall of art as you strolled past. Finally, stopping at one specific drawing. It was a drawing of 8 crows sitting on a long branch.
“One crow for each of us?”
You nodded. “Yeah.”
“Even Vanya?”
You nodded.
“Wouldn’t it make sense for us to be…umbrellas?”
You childishly shook your head. “I don’t wanna be an umbrella. I like crows.” You continued filling in the color on one of the birds.
“Did you know a group of crows is called a Murder?”
“Really? Why? That sounds scary.”
“It’s because if you see a lot of crows in one place, it’s an omen of death. A lot of people are scared of them. Crows aren’t bad though. They’re smart. You know, they can remember human faces.”
You perked up at that fact. “Really?”
Ben smiled. “Yeah. They’re a part of the corvid family, they’re related to ravens. Also…crows are the symbol of a Celtic goddess called The Morrigan.”
“Did you read that from the library?”
“Uh-huh.”
“You should bring it next time.”
You smiled to yourself. You really did not want to do this to yourself but you never really had anything to remember Ben by. The nightmares that plagued you for 13 years.
Being in this room, it felt like a shell was dissolving from around you.
“Ben, I’m so sorry.” You spoke softly. “I should’ve been stronger. You only died cause I was holding you back. I was weak. It…it should’ve been me. You should’ve been the one to finally leave this place.”
Your forehead softly clunked against the drawing as tears began to flow.
Suddenly, you heard music playing. Even through the muffling of the walls, you heard it clearly.
You sighed. “Seriously?” You were unable to suppress the laugh that came out of you.
~Children behave~
You backed away from the wall, awkwardly swaying to the music as you closed your eyes and only focused on the sound. There was no pressure of performance like at the club.
And watch how you play
They don’t understand and so we’re running just as fast as we can
Holdin on to one another’s hand
You spun around the room like you listening to Stevie Nicks, lip-syncing perfectly to the song and having your music video moment in your head as you grooved your way towards the room door, exiting into the hallway with a skip over the threshold.
Tryin to get away, into the night
And then you put your arms around me and we tumble to the ground and then you say
I think we’re alone now
The hallway was completely yours. You were like a whimsical fairy, shuffling through the hall. Your facial expression matched the intensity of the song as you mouthed along with the words before you began strutting along the corridor.
There doesn’t seem to be anyone around
I think we’re alone now
The beating of our hearts is the only sound
When the drum synth came in, you started imitating a drummer’s movement, banging against the air on beat.
Look at the way
We gotta hide what we’re doin’
Cause what would they say
If they ever knew and so we’re running just as fast as we can
Holdin’ on to one another’s hand
Trying to get away into the night and then you put your arms around me
And we tumble to the ground and then you say
I think we’re alone now
Another spin that might’ve been too soon as you stumbled, catching yourself before easing back into the groove into the song with a run into a sloppy jete.
There doesn’t seem to be anyone around
I think we’re alone now
The beating of our hearts is the only sound
I think we’re alone now
There doesn’t seem to be anyone around
I think we’re alone now
The beating of our hearts is the only sound
*THUNDER CRASH*
The vibes immediately got put on hold as a crash of thunder caught you off guard with a mixture of heavy wind that started rattling the closed windows.
——✨——
All of you ran out into the courtyard to face a shocking sight. A blue ripple in the sky.
“Holy shit!”
“What is it?”
“Don’t get too close!”
“Yeah, no shit.”
“Looks like some sort of temporal anomaly….either that or a miniature black hole. One of the two.” Luther suggested.
“Pretty big difference there, Paul Bunyan.”
Suddenly, you were pushed aside as Klaus ran in front of you all clutching a fire extinguisher. “Out of the way!” He aimed and fired at the ripple before just chucking it.
“Really Klaus?”
“I don’t know. Do you have a better idea?”
Something started forming inside of the ripple causing Luther to push everyone behind him with Diego moving forward beside him.
“Get behind me!”
“Yeah, get behind us!”
“I vote for running!”
All of you watched as an old man appeared stuck in a screaming state. Only made weirder when his body began changing in front of you to that of…
“Five?”
“What?” Allison glanced at you before looking back.
The man…boy fell and the ripple closed. You all inched closer as the boy stood and confirmed what you thought. It was Five. The brother that vanished years ago…and he hasn’t even aged a day.
“Does anyone else see little Number Five or is that just me?”
You shook your head. “No…I see him too.”
Five looked down at himself before looking back up at all of you. “Shit!”
——✨——
All of you stood in the kitchen as you watched in awe as Five moved around making himself something to eat.
“What’s the date? The exact date.”
“The 24th.” Vanya replied.
“Of what?”
“March.”
“Good.”
“So are we gonna talk about what just happened?”
Five didn’t reply, pissing Luther off as he stood.
“It’s been 17 years.”
The smartass scoffed. “It’s been a lot longer than that.” He inched forward blinking past Luther.
“I haven’t missed that.”
It was Diego’s turn. “Where’d you go?”
“The future. It’s shit, by the way.”
Klaus perked up. “Called it!”
“I should’ve listened to the old man. Y’know, jumping through space is one thing. Jumping through time is a toss of the dice.” He finally looked up at everyone, specifically Klaus. “Nice dress.”
“Oh, well, danke!”
Vanya started questioning him next. “Wait, how did you get back?”
“In the end, I had to project my consciousness forward into a suspended quantum state version of myself that exists across every possible instance of time.”
You were at a loss for words. “I didn’t retain any of that.”
“Cause that makes no sense.” Diego chimed in.
“Well, it would if you were smarter.” Five shot back.
Diego quickly stood up but was held back by Luther.
“How long were you there?”
“45 years. Give or take.”
Everyone inched in closer when Five replied.
“So what are you saying?” Klaus started. “That you’re 58?”
“Wow, you don’t look a day over a day over 13. What’s your secret?”
“Y/N, I don’t remember you being such a smartass. My consciousness is 58. Apparently, my body is now 13 again.”
Vanya was lost. “How does that even work?”
“Delores kept saying the equations were off. Eh. Bet she’s laughing now.”
“Delores?”
Five ignored the question and picked up the newspaper with their dad’s death on the front page. “Guess I missed the funeral.”
“How did you know about that?”
“What part of the future do you not understand? Heart failure, huh?”
Both Diego and Luther answered at the same time.
“Yeah.”
“No.”
“Hmm. Nice to see nothing’s changed.” The fifth Hargreeves then left the kitchen as Allison called after him.
“That’s it? That’s all you have to say?”
“The circle of life.” He yelled back.
“Well…”
“Nice to see he’s still the same 17 years later.”
——✨——
You had all finally gathered outside in the courtyard. Rain was already pouring as you all were covered by black umbrellas, aside from Klaus and Luther.
The former going with a see-through Umbrella with a fuzzy pink rim and the latter opting to just take the rain as is.
Mom observed all of your sorrowful faces before speaking up. “Did something happen?”
“Dad died. Remember?”
“Oh. Yes, of course.” The expression she made as she was reminded stung.
“Is mom ok?”
Diego wasted no time in answering “Yeah, yeah, she’s fine. She just needs to rest. You know, recharge.”
Pogo came forward, looking up at Luther and giving him the go-ahead. Everyone watched in silence as Luther opened dad’s urn and poured the ashes onto the ground. It was as disappointing as watching a balloon deflate.
“Probably would’ve been better with some wind.”
“Does anyone wish to speak?”
No answer.
“Very well. In all regards, Sir Reginald Hargreeves made me what I am today. For that alone, I shall forever be in his debt. He was my master…and my friend…and I shall miss him very much.”
Everyone soaked in Pogo’s speech before he continued on.
“He leaves behind a complicated legacy—”
You scoffed and Diego had finally had it.
“He was a monster.”
Klaus chuckled.
“He was a bad person and a worse father. The world’s better off without him.”
“Diego.” Allison snapped, taking Luther’s feelings into consideration but also didn’t appreciate Diego’s desire to start trouble.
“My name is Number Two. You know why? Because our father couldn’t be bothered to give us actual names. He had mom do it.”
Almost on cue, mom spoke up. “Would anyone like something to eat?”
“No, it’s ok mom.” Vanya answered.
“Oh, okay.”
“Look, you wanna pay your respects? Go ahead.” Diego stepped out from the lineup, looking back at the rest of you. “But at least be honest about the kind of man he was.”
“You should stop talking now.” Luther warned.
“You know, you of all people should be on my side here, Number One.”
“I am warning you.”
“After everything he did to you? He had to ship you a million miles away.”
“Diego, stop talking.”
This was the anger and rage you had wanted to flaunt when you came back here. And yet, in the presence of Diego and Luther about to get into it, there was a part of you that felt uncomfortable. A part that wanted to shrink away.
You should be agreeing with Diego. Diego was mad at you though. As much as he agreed with how you felt about your father, he was still pissed that you left.
“That’s how much he couldn’t stand the sight of you!”
All hell broke loose as Luther pushed Diego back and swung. The latter ducking just in time. Everyone instantly backed away as Pogo urged the two to stop.
Diego just kept egging him on and on to try and hit him. Vanya pleaded with them to stop but to no avail meanwhile, Klaus had no issue with cheering for the fight.
Pogo shook his head and simply walked off as the scuffle continued.
You rolled your eyes. “Are you guys serious right now?” You spoke under your breath.
“We don’t have time for this.” Five walked off back into the house.
Finally, Luther charged forth towards Diego but the vigilante ducked out of the way, causing Luther’s fist to collide with Ben’s statue, knocking it over and causing the head to break off.
“And there goes Ben’s statue.”
With Luther distracted, Diego pulled out one of his knives. When Vanya noticed she shouted at him.
“Diego no!”
He flung the knife and watched as it sliced through Luther’s coat sleeve, slicing some of his flesh. That’s when the fight halted as Luther was too focused on the cut and stumbled inside, catching Diego off guard.
Vanya approached Diego. “You never know when to stop, do you?”
“…You got enough material for your sequel yet?”
“…He was my father too.”
Diego waited until Vanya went inside to go and get mom to bring her in. Leaving just you and Klaus. You were stuck staring at Ben’s fallen statue. Something to commemorate ruined because of your brothers’ stupid egos. For you, it all came back to your dad again.
The only reason you all were fucked up to this point was because of him. Even if Luther didn’t wanna see it. Diego was right. In your eyes, your father didn’t have a soft spot for any of you buried underneath that thick layer of harshness.
Klaus stood over the pile of ashes on the floor, kneeling down. “I bet you’re loving this. Hmm? The team at its best. It’s just like old times.” He took one last puff before putting his cigarette out in the ashes.
When he stood back up, he walked over to you, throwing an arm around your shoulder to guide you back into the house.
“Come on, Glowbug, let’s get you a drink. Best funeral ever, huh?”
——✨——
You knocked softly on Luther’s room door.
“Hey, Luther? You okay?”
……
“I’m fine.”
“Well, let me take a look at the cut, we don’t need it getting infected.”
….
“No, t-that’s ok.”
“Are you sure?”
“You should probably head home…or to bed, whichever, you can spend the night.”
Another bout of silence.
You let out a defeated sigh. “Alright, if you change your mind, I’ll be in my sanctum.”
You started walking off but the clicking of Luther’s door caught your attention.
“Wait!”
You turned as the door slowly opened. Honestly, the sight of big bad Luther peeking out like a scared puppy was adorable.
“Sorry.” He whispered.
——✨——
“You know, you’d think after all these years, I would be able to get rid of scars.” You joked as you hover your hand over the cut.
“Dad always said it was to remind us of our mistakes.”
“Yeah…I hated it.”
“I know.”
“You don’t have to be ashamed of being hairy, you know?”
Luther gave you a confused look.
“I assumed you didn’t want me to heal you in the first place cause you were ashamed of it. People are hairy dude. I’ve met a ton of hairy dudes and chicks. It’s a part of our biology.”
As much as he wanted to correct you, he didn’t want to potentially reveal his secret, so he sat there, silently watching the slit in his arm close as if that part of his body was being rewinded. He always thought the light accompanied the healing process as a means to hide the work. Maybe some people would be put off by watching their flesh mend in a way they weren’t used to you.
Wanting to move the conversation, Luther spoke up.
“You know…we were all worried about you…when you left.”
“Even Diego?”
“...Yeah, even Diego…in his own way.”
“Well…I managed. Got taken in by a nice lady.”
“That’s good to know.”
More silence.
“You know Allison told me she tried to stop you that night. Are you still mad at her?”
“Why wouldn’t I be? She tried to rumor me into staying.”
“Then you attacked her.”
“Who wouldn’t?”
“You know she was coming from a good place.”
“She was until she tried taking away my free will.” Your light dimmed. “Makes you question everything she’s ever achieved…even her marriage.”
“Hey! That’s a sensitive subject for her.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. Boohoo Allison and her having to face people not finding her likable. Surprised it took her so long.”
You huffed as you stood up and headed for the door.
“Are you gonna be mad at her forever?”
“Maybe…get some sleep, big guy.”
You closed his door behind you, not even sparing a glance at Allison’s as you walked to your old room, closing and locking the door behind you. You used to get in trouble for doing so back then but with your dad gone, you didn’t have to hear his grating voice give you some dumb lecture.
You looked around your room, nothing really changed since you last saw it. All of your little pictures still hung up on the wall. Your dresser still had the same broken knobs and burn marks from when you took your volatile grief out on it. All of your little trinkets were still where you left them, even your old doll “Lucille” in all her chopped and mangled hair glory.
You picked her up and fell back on your bed, lying down with one leg dangling off the side as you fiddled with Lucille’s hair.
“Well, Lucille…the old man finally croaked…and I don’t feel any better. Why the fuck is that?”
——✨——
“This is Jim Hellerman, reporting live for Channel 2 News outside of the Capital West bank at Main and Sixth. A group of heavily armed men stormed the bank not three hours ago and took an unknown number of hostages.”
On the inside, a few of the bank robbers were keeping their attention on the tied-up hostages as their presumed leader entered the main area, ordering them to get the hostages behind the counter as he firmly held the phone to his ear, talking to the hostage negotiator stationed outside.
“Now you’ve put me in a position where I gotta do something I don’t want to do. Hmm?”
None of them seemed to notice the newest addition. A little girl in a school uniform wearing a domino mask. Even more so, no one noticed when she looked up to the lights around the room and held her arms out, a dim light emitting from her hands as the lights flickered out and briefly shut off for a moment before turning back on.
The thieves looked around for any sign of some cop entering the building as the boss spoke into the phone again. It would only be in jail when they realized it was one of the children that captured them that messed with the lights, allowing the others to make their stealthy entrance.
“You pull something like that again, we’ll kill one of the hostages.”
The negotiator justifiably was confused.
The boss of the gang didn’t notice the other little girl approaching him casually, standing next to him without a care in the world. She wore the same uniform and mask as the other one. When the man noticed her presence, he ordered her to join the other captives.
The girl looked down, mumbling something underneath her breath.
“What? What did you say?”
The little girl smirked, he had fallen right into her trap as she leaned in. “I heard a rumor…that you shot your friend in the foot.”
The man’s eyes went white as this new reality set in for him. Like a zombie, he pointed his gun towards his cohort who noticed just a bit too late.
“Hey, dude. What the hell?”
BANG!
The man groaned as the bullet hit his foot, the pain sending him to the floor as he accidentally set off his own gun, bullets piercing the glass window that four hostages took cover under. All of the captives began screaming as the boss of the group stared at his gun in sheer disbelief.
The muffled shots of the gun captured the attention of the cops and onlookers outside, everyone instinctively ducking in case a stray hit them.
“We just heard shots from inside the bank. It’s uncertain if any hostages have been harmed in that.”
The new cameraman’s attention went to the roof after a civilian pointed out someone walking along the roof. Of course, many of the people on the ground couldn’t see the person clearly with the reporter even suggesting that it might be law enforcement.
On the contrary, it was a boy wearing a masculine version of the same uniform that the two little girls were wearing along with the same mask.
Once the boy was in position, he jumped through the glass roof, landing right behind one of the thieves standing behind the counter. He grabbed him, slamming his head against the counter surface before effortlessly tossing him towards higher windows where everyone outside watched as the same man came crashing through and hitting the ground way below as everyone screamed.
“Looks like one of the armed robbers has been thrown from the bank.”
Back inside, another child came charging in. “Guns are for sissies. Real men throw knives.” He launched two knives in the direction of the robber and the little girl that rumored him. The thief instinctively puts an arm up as the avoid being stabbed in the face.
However, everyone was shocked to watch the knives turn, piercing through the suit of a thief holding a machine gun, sending him back against the wall.
“I’ve been in many hostage situations like this, and it can escalate very quickly.”
The children had the bald thief cornered as he stood atop the counter, aiming his pistol at the kids. “Get back now!”
“Hey, be careful up there, buddy.” Diego mocked him.
Allison joined in. “Yeah, wouldn’t want you to get hurt.”
Suddenly another appeared, quite literally. “Or what?” He was extremely smug as the thief turned to aim the gun at him.
The boy blinked out of view as the thief fired a shot and missed. In frustration, he fired more shots with an angered yell. Five reappeared behind him with his arms folded. The man went to shoot him again however, his gun had been replaced with a stapler.
“Ooh! That’s one badass stapler!” He then pushed the stapler back and smashed it into the skull of the thief, throwing him back.
The thief stumbled a bit before passing out and falling back onto the floor.
“Although there’s been no activity for a few minutes, we’re gonna stay live on location to make sure we don’t miss anything in this hostage situation at the Capital West bank.”
Ben stood there nervous about what he was asked to do. You stood with Allison and Diego as Luther and Klaus urged him to take out the rest of the guys hiding within the vault.
Ben sighed as he entered the room. “I didn’t sign up for this.”
The crowd of onlookers watched on as the captives all frantically ran out of the building.
“Now we see the hostages. They--they’re free. They’re scared, clearly, but they do seem to be unharmed.”
You and your siblings watched through the tempered glass as Ben’s tentacles ravaged all the remaining thieves. The beast inside of Ben letting out an ear-piercing screech as the men inside screamed for their lives. Blood splattered everywhere as you watched limbs fly from side to side.
Finally, the noise stopped as Ben poked his head out, covered in blood from head to toe. His eyes scanned all of you as he let out shaky breaths. “Can we go home now?”
That was how your father decided to introduce the world to the Umbrella academy. You remembered every bit of it. The overwhelming flashes of light and the microphones being shoved in your face, causing your breathing to quicken. The only solace being Klaus and Ben holding your hand. Even though Klaus seemed to be fine, Ben was clearly ashamed of being covered in blood for the interviews.
When one of the reporters asked your father if he was concerned about your wellbeing, it piqued your interest. Your dad’s answer was a curt yes but his worries were overshadowed by the worry for the world. There was something about his answer that never sat right with you.

Dating Headcanons F.H
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What it’s Like to Date Five Hargreeves
Pairings — Five Hargreeves x Reader (pronouns not specified)
Summary — My headcanons for if you were Five’s lover.
Warnings — opinions, no plot, it’s all over the place, last one is semi-NSFW.
A/N — i try to avoid nsfw with five because yk.. in the show, he’s physically thirteen but this one was too funny not to add. let’s all just pretend there was a happy ending okay 😭😭. i wrote this before season four came out so let’s pretend it ended happily.
— if you want another version where it’s just headcanons of you and five in the apocalypse i’m down for that.
Tumblr media
— I see headcanons where Five is straight up mean, manipulative, and where he’s just using you.
— To me, that’s not Five being in love with you. Have you seen how he treats Delores? HE’S SO SWEET TO HER.
— So if you’re his lover, he will give you princess treatment like no other, holy shit.
—He’ll prepare breakfast so it’s ready to be eaten when you wake up.
— He thinks breakfast in bed is a recipe for disaster so he never does that.
— If you take a while to wake up he’ll wake you up.
— “My love, breakfast is ready.” He’ll whisper into your ear before pressing a kiss onto your temple, then one on your forehead, then your nose… then finally a chaste kiss on your lips.
— He’ll tuck you in bed at night and make sure you’re all snug before leaving. If you can’t sleep he’ll read to you.
— With him around, you genuinely never have to open a door. In addition to paying for every meal, he always walks on the outside of the sidewalk. He also pulls the chair out for you when you sit and showers you with praise.
— Sometimes the praise is simple whispers in your ear because he isn’t much into PDA.
— There was never an official wedding, he stole two matching rings and gave one to you.
— He’d like to have an official wedding.
— If he has to worry about the apocalypse he’ll probably neglect you only because he thinks the fate of the world is in his hands.
— He loves going on simple dates, whether it’s at Griddy’s Doughnuts, a simple stroll in the park, or a little painting place.
— He’s fancy but he doesn’t see the point in expensive restaurants. He likes the little things.
— He loves to make and paint pottery with you, it’s his favourite thing to do.
— When he can’t sleep he’ll come over to your place and sit on the roof with you.
— If you fall asleep he’ll Blink into your room and tuck you in, and he’ll even leave a note for you to read when you wake up.
— It usually goes along the lines of..
“You fell asleep, don’t worry I made sure you got back in your room and I picked up all your stuffies from the floor and put them on the bed with you.”
— He struggles with insomnia.
— He’ll write you love letters even though it’s more convenient to send a text. He loves you and he’s willing to put effort in love notes.
— His primary love languages are quality time and acts of service.
— He doesn’t show much affection in public.
— He doesn’t mind holding your hand though.
— Five won’t be afraid to hold your hand, wrap an arm around your shoulders or waist while he’s with his siblings.
— Kisses and hugs are private though.
— Despite being private, he doesn’t hide the fact he’s dating you.
— If anyone tries anything on you, Five will glare daggers. If that’s not enough, he’ll threaten them, and if they keep pushing he’ll make them bleed (but not too severe 🥰)
— He’s hella protective.
— You make midnight munchies together.
— He’ll refuse to dance with you in the kitchen at 2am but he’ll reluctantly say yes and end up actually enjoying it.
— Same goes for dancing in the rain. He pretends to hate it but he loves it and you know he does.
— You always make pasta or noodles for midnight munchies.
— One time you made cookies and accidentally woke up Klaus who ate the cookie dough before you got to put it in the oven.
— When you guys had sex for the first time Klaus congratulated you and Five with a cake that said ‘virgin’ in the middle of a 🚫 and woke you up the next day with confetti.
Tumblr media
— sorry, i know i said i’d have a part three to my ben hargreeves fic but i wrote it and didn’t edit it.. and it didn’t seem entertaining enough to post, i’m sorry.
— if you want headcanons with the apocalypse involved, let me know <3

Five Hargreeves
The Umbrella Academy - Season 4
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was impatiently waiting for season 4 of The Umbrella Academy !
Season 3 having disappointed me a little, I had high hopes for season 4. And, although I found it indeed better than the previous one (even if season 2 remains my favorite), there are still things that disturb me.
The actors are still good, nothing to say about that ! But I don't understand what the writers did. 😅
I don't find the same Five as in seasons 1 and 2, I have the impression that he has changed his personality. Same for Lila : where is the badass Lila from previous seasons ?!
Even if I wasn't particularly a fan of the Diego/Lila couple; the Five/Lila couple doesn't disappoint me as it is the case for most fans of the series, but it disturb me a little.
Their enemies-to-friends thing was funny enough, but seeing them as a couple (while Lila is with Diego and they have kids 💀, and Five has been fucking a mannequin since before I was born) makes things a little weird.
And I'm sure that for everyone who had a crush on Five or just on Aidan, the kiss scene must have been particularly painful. 😭
We already didn't like seeing him with Dolores ! But the worst part is that I love Lila too much to cry watching them kiss.
All that remains is to cancel the wedding, girls ! 😢
I wish good luck to everyone who writes Five x Y/n (etc) fanfiction, because I don't know how you're going to explain that.

the empath and the eldritch horror (4/5) - sparrow!ben x empath!reader
Tumblr media
Summary: This was truly the end of the world. Both families chose to band together to get rid of the ball of lightning in the basement. Allison is showing her true colors, affecting Eight. And Ben is trying his hand at pep talks.
Word count: 6.8k (*cough* don't look at me)
Warning: language, angst, Eight's mental health (or powers?), violence, Eight's self-esteem, mention of smut, mention of drugs, Eight has a very specific tattoo
Author's note: This is the chapter I was most looking forward to 🎉🤗 Still between chapter one and two. If you know the gif, you'll know which episode this is set in. The last chapter will be then after the wedding shenanigans.
Full disclosure, when I first watched this season so many years ago, I felt like so many others, truly angry at Allison. It's why I didn't want to do a re-watch, but now I have a more balanced approach. Not to mention, yes, Eight is deeply affected by Viktor and Allison, but ... at the same time, she gets it in a way, so she's more neutral about it. I think the next chapter delves deeper into that.
This chapter is so long because I included the whole episode (almost) from start to finish. You're welcome. 😘
Please please please write a small comment or reblog this.
Series masterlist
The absolute impossible happened. Who knew that both Hargreeves families could get over their petty squabbles and band together to defeat a common foe? This time around they chose to acknowledge that the Kugelblitz signaled a more pressing matter in spite of the egos of some people itching to kill the others.
Ben followed after Fei by sauntering into the sitting room as soon as some of your siblings had arrived to start off the family meeting and to deal with the next cataclysmic event.
Ben frowned impatiently at Fei’s inquiry about Diego’s hand—it was probably half curiosity and half a morbid way of making friends by feigning interest. “We don’t have time for idle chitchat. Everyone, sit down.”
Diego decided to be his typical brotherly self. “Please would be nice.”
His partner in crime (as you lovingly called her in your head) called Lila chuckled at his antics.
Ben barely turned his head in his direction when he uttered with a serious, “No.” With a frown, he tilted his head, scrutinizing the guests with a subtle glimpse. “Where’s the Empath?”
Casting his suspicious gaze onto Ben, Diego narrowed his eyes at this fascination. Maybe this was the overprotective brother in him who didn’t like the idea of this version of Ben being mesmerized by you—for whatever nefarious motives. Since he didn’t want to imagine anything else going on there.
Stretching his arm against his thigh as he leaned forward, Diego demanded with an accusatory voice, “Why do you care?”
Ben waved a hand, smirking widely to get under his skin. “Maybe I’d rather appreciate the presence of the sensitive sibling rather than the knife guy bashing his head through the fucking wall.”
“You little-” Diego hissed.
This was the moment when you arrived at the Academy. “I heard someone requested my being here,” you sang, hoping to de-escalate any frictions with your arrival.
The tension in Ben’s shoulders dissolved. You reminded yourself to appear as easy-going as possible when you passed Ben. Trying to disregard the intense gaze he sent you over your shoulder. You picked the seat in the middle of the couch, between Diego and Five, just in case Diego and Ben decided to butt heads.
Mildly curious, Diego grumbled, “How can you even stand the guy?” while waving a hand in Ben’s general direction as a gesture of irritation.
This was just your idea of a good time. To be subjected to being the woman in the middle trying to mediate between two pig-headed guys.
You sat down with a sigh, sending Ben a teasing expression. “Sometimes he reminds me of you.”
Their reaction was instantaneous.
Ben’s face contorted into a grimace. “Don’t insult me.”
Simultaneously, Diego added, “Not funny.”
Fei and Lila’s chuckles eased the tension in the room. But this appeared short-lived.
“Are we done now with the little stand-up show? Can we get on with it?” This time, Ben branded you with his dark stare.
You exhaled heavily, choosing to grant Ben this small amount of silence and Luther the opportunity to say his part, due to him bringing everyone together. The absence of Klaus and Viktor was starting to concern you. It was the not knowing part which bothered you, especially since there was this specific tradition in this family to not tell anyone anything. So, the chances of being absorbed by the Kugelblitz or being kidnapped were equally high. Or they just didn’t care to show up.
As soon as your gaze wandered around the room, the darkness emanated from Allison like a cloud, prompting you to slowly turn your head. Wisps of dark smoke encircled her being more and more by every second.
When Allison’s gaze almost found you reluctantly, you mouthed, “You good?”
The coldness in her eyes froze you in place, when she muttered, “Never better.”
Luther distracted you from your anxious mind when he stood up to face the families. “So, uh…” He cleared his throat. “This is kinda nice, right? All of us here together. One big happy family.” Luther chuckled before he bent down towards Sloane who was sitting in a chair across from you. “I feel like I’m sweaty. Am I sweating?”
“No, you’re fine.” Sloane whispered back reassuringly.
“Look, I know there’s been bad blood between us,” Ben admitted with a carefree voice, like everything which transpired between the families was just water under the bridge already. “Whatever. Bygones, right?”
Faking a smile to speed up the process, Ben pointed at Diego as soon as he raised his hand. “Question?”
“Yeah, if I kill you, do we get our Ben back?” He said, prompting Fei to snicker in jest.
You sighed, leaning back against the back of the couch. Diego must have sensed the grim expressions on Ben’s face and yours when he added, “Hypothetically.”
“Guys,” you admonished your brother. You felt the itch in your fingers before you finally relented and nervously nibbled on of the snacks which was laid out on the table like a small peace offering or a more strategic distraction. Knowing you would need the food to get you through the rest of the meeting.
“Keep talking, and your hand won’t be the only thing bleeding,” Ben hissed through gritted teeth.
“Okay, if the testosterone twins are done,” Five interrupted before a fight could fully break out between the Twos, “I’d like to get back to a plan.”
The sudden appearance of Viktor was a welcome distraction. But that was before you detected the yellow tendrils of fear wafting around him. Viktor rushed in, demanding answers while alternating his gaze between Allison and Ben. “Where is he? What did you do to Harlan?”
Ben had the good instinct to sneakily take a seat between Five and you. You were grateful that you functioned as a buffer next to Diego. He picked up the tub of cheese balls from the table and placed it in his lap, watching (and relishing) in rapt fascination the drama unfolding. You felt an altercation between Allison and Viktor about to boil over, not knowing whether to step in or letting it play out. Judging by Allison’s pain, you felt concerned if it could be contained for long.
“They didn’t do anything. I did. I killed Harlan,” Allison stated without emotion in her voice.
You knew better though. Allison’s eyes told you how this deplorable action wasn’t as easy for her as she wanted to let on.
The longer you remained in their vicinity—especially when Viktor was added to the mix—an almost deafening sensation grew in your ears. You tried to keep your emotions in check, afraid of what would happen if you would let it erupt. Sometimes you hated being this vessel of empathy. Like you were just along for the ride or were some sort of empty glass while the emotions of others filled you with water, making it a part of you. Leaving you to yourself while you tried to stop it from overspilling.
Sensing the overflowing feelings of rage and vindication from Allison’s side and the pain and grief on both sides, you experienced their conflict at parts like some sort of tunnel vision.
“Because he didn’t deserve to live,” Alison avowed, expecting it to be a given.
Uncomfortable silence prevailed the longer Allison and Viktor remained in their stalemate.
You tried to get your breathing under control and focused on anything else than the clashing of ideologies. Needing to distract yourself, you tried to hone in on Ben’s mischief taking over.
“Twenty bucks on the little one,” Ben whispered to Five before munching on his snack.
“I’ll take that action,” Five agreed quietly.
“I know Harlan killed all of our mothers.” Allison’s statement pulled you back after only listening to their voices halfheartedly.
Your siblings erupted into shocked reactions at that turn of events. “What?”
“Yeah, but he didn’t mean to hurt anyone,” Viktor attempted to appease the rest of his family, despite Five and Diego’s vexation slowly taking over. “He—I knew him. And he was sweet and kind until I made him like us. Okay? So, I screwed him up. And if you need someone to blame, I’m right here-”
Yet, Allison didn’t care for any redemption of Viktor. She turned confrontational while she was burning for a fight. “What makes you think I don’t?”
Your eyes widened anxiously at Allison’s aura shifting into a mixture of a darker red and almost black.
“This wasn’t about saving the world. This was about hurting me. Payback for-” Viktor grunted lowly.
Gingerly, yet menacingly, Allison moved to her feet. “Go on. Say her name.”
With your eyes closed, you clenched your hands into fists. “Can we please stop?” You mumbled quietly. The provoking words of your siblings echoed shallowly while your breathing was turning heavy.
Ben shifted his head in your direction at the shift of your breathing pattern. The tunnel vision was still happening when you felt Ben’s hand covering the edge of your back, but thankfully without touching the sliver of skin. Just letting his hand linger in place. His warmth was perhaps one of the only things keeping you centered in the moment without going insane. Or at least without releasing an exaggerated amount of energy to protect yourself.
“To what? Help me grieve? God, this whole family is so quick to tell me to suck up my pain and so worried about fixing yours! Somebody had to pay because you never seem to. Destroy the world, kill Pogo, almost kill me, and for what? So we can all run around and clean up your mess? I’m sick of it.”
You could feel Diego’s concerned gaze dwell on you. “Take it easy, Allison,” Five interjected.
“This isn’t helping,” Diego added, knowing that Allison wasn’t exactly known for respecting the boundaries of others when she felt attacked as a person.
Ben shushing at both siblings, and anyone who were trying to get between Allison and her thirst for vengeance, reminded you he was still being an asshole. Even if he was being nice when no one was looking.
You sighed, rejecting his offered touch by leaning forward. Ben’s grumpiness was more than obvious. If you didn’t already sense it growing in him, then it was the small grumbling noise he made while leaning back.
As soon as Viktor tried to say his part, Allison yelled, “Shut your mouth!”
From across the room, you felt Viktor choking from Allison’s power upgrade. But this didn’t end there when Allison kept screaming, “Every time I build a new life for myself, you end the world and take it from me!”
Feeling angry for Viktor’s sake, Luther jumped into action. “All right, that’s it. Knock off the power shit, Allison. It’s not okay!”
The gratification grew around her when Allison delivered one last blow. “We should have left you in the basement.”
The unrest of your siblings broke out when she crossed the line. Diego jumped up from the couch with the others, commanding resolutely, “Whoa! Allison, all right!”
Viktor finally had enough when he slapped her in the face with the back of his hand. After being asked about her well-being, Allison assured them, “I’m fine. Let’s continue.”
You wished it was that simple.
With his footsteps departing, Viktor shook off his hand with rage.
“Sweet. You guys fight just like us,” Ben commented with a smug grin on his face.
There was sadness and disappointment in Diego’s voice when he elaborated, “Nah, man. We don’t fight like this.”
Once the air felt clearer with the absence of Viktor—or at least without a face for Allison to get mad at—you managed to breathe normally again. Your body still felt shaky when you stood up, needing a moment to come to your senses again.
Luther seemed to have read your intentions correctly, when he said, “Hey, Y/N, where-”
Blinking wearily, you murmured hoarsely, “I need a moment. I think everyone could use a bit of a break,” before walking around the couch.
Unfortunately, that meant crossing the path of Allison who eyed you with apprehension. As much as you wanted to avoid the confrontation. Allison’s arms were crossed when she faced you.
She smirked crookedly, tilting her head. “Have you decided to manipulate my emotions? Take my anger away?”
You felt too tired for any sort of conflict to arise again. As much as there was a lot unsaid between you two. Unlike her, you didn’t believe in manipulating other people.
Inhaling deeply, you gathered your strength. Truth be told, you had no intention of hurting her. With that in mind, you still couldn’t stop the pain from showing on your face. “I thought you knew I don’t force myself onto others,” you said almost in disappointment before leaving the sitting room and any of that lingering darkness behind. It felt way too obvious when the air you breathed seemed cleaner, less of a struggle.
You barely walked a few steps down the hallway when you heard slow footsteps follow behind.
“Where are you going?” The voice of Ben inquired expectantly behind you.
You sighed before you slowly turned around to face him. “I need some fresh air. Going up to the roof.” You smiled sarcastically. “Sorry I can’t enjoy the show.”
Ben looked over his shoulder to keep track of where the others were. The glittering in his eyes revealed his intentions before he even spoke. “You want to see my room?” Ben’s idea of flirting entailed him placing his hands in his pockets and letting the muscles in his arms flex.
As much as his concept of fun would serve as a nice distraction, you still couldn’t help the little awkward smile on your face. “You think the air’s better there?”
The earnestness in Ben’s eyes couldn’t fully diminish the mischief he had in mind when his eyes wandered up the stairs. “Well, it’s definitely secluded. No one’s going to bother you there.” His suggestion turned into something more teasing. “You could see how it looks in broad daylight.”
Leave it to Ben to try to cheer you up while the situation was so dire.
You chuckled. “Sure. No ulterior motives at all.”
Ben covered his chest in mock hurt. “Moi? What do you think of me? I’m just a nice guy who’s offering his private quarters as a small sanctuary for you.”
You nodded, pursing your lips. Remembering how he could stir some trouble when it was fun for him before choosing to go in a completely different direction when it suited him. “Sure, nice guy.” You braced your hands against your waist. “Would you also give that offer to Diego?”
Ben’s face remained blank. “Right. Are we talking about the guy with the stupid hat or with his knife kink?” When you didn’t rise to the bait, he continued, “Don’t worry, I don’t care about their names. My hospitality does have its limits after all. Besides, you’re one of the few people I don’t mind being up there. You know, maybe I could help you take your mind off of things.” Ben offered, stroking your arm through your clothing.
It was with reluctance when you pulled away. “As much as a distraction would be appreciated, I need to be alone right now. Unless you still want that anxiety attack while being around me.”
Nonetheless, the reminder made him smirk. “Promises, promises.”
“Whatever you guys decide, I’m all for. Clearly you don’t need me for it.”

You still had your eyes closed when you heard the door on the rooftop slide shut. With your hands on your stomach, you were lying down on the cornice and enjoying some peace and quiet. The sensation of the familiar aura reached you, instantly letting you know who it was that joined you.
You breathed in deeply, thrumming your fingers against your abdomen. “I wasn’t aware that I gave off the impression that I wanted company?”
“I was being more than generous by waiting five minutes before coming out here,” Ben hissed, like it went without saying that he would show up.
You smiled serenely. “What a gentleman,” you whispered teasingly. Ben seemed to be in one of his moods. Judging by that, you surmised he met another of your siblings or one of his own who soured his attitude.
The auditory perception of a city burning from the assimilation of the Kugelblitz rang in the distance. The only thing out of place in this universe. With you lying on the cornice it felt like the good ol’ times … if you tried to ignore the abuse and trauma being inflicted on by Reginald.
Ben placed his arms next to your head and leaned his body against the waist-high parapet, exhaling loudly.
You cleared your throat, deciding to take his bait. “Something on your mind?”
Ben didn’t need more prompting when he just as quickly replied, “You know, your emo brother is really something else. I mean, being stubborn just to stick it to someone or because they didn’t get an apology? Talk about pathetic and spiteful.”
So, it was frustrated Ben who needed to vent.
You sent him a small smile, watching him upside-down. Or more like to the side. “Yes, because you could never be spiteful.”
Ben waved a hand in vehement agreement. Humor was shining in his eyes when he smiled. “Exactly. You really get me.”
He eyed the bricks in the low wall. “Sloane, Lila and Christopher are going to work together to contain it. Viktor, as well, if he finally gets off his butt.”
“That’s good.” You blinked at him, feeling like he was reluctant to tell something else. Which didn’t feel like Ben.
“I came here because I told the others they would need your help in beating this thing.”
Astonishment filled your belly with uncomfortable heat. The blood rushed to your head despite you slowly sitting up. Your feet dangled at the sides of the wall. “Why would you do that?” You said with a husky voice.
“You have all these abilities at your fingertips, you just won’t use them.”
You shrugged your shoulders, surprised by Ben’s insistence. At feeling enraged on your behalf. Especially since he only knew you less than a week. “I’m just an Empath. I can’t control stuff which … probably isn’t even human.”
“You’re not—you’re not just one thing. Do you even see what you’re capable of? I’ve seen it. I mean, converting energy? Projecting illusions? And you’re supposed to be Number Eight? What the hell?”
“The numbers don’t really mean anything. I mean, Viktor is like Number Seven.” Even you could hear that your arguments sounded feeble. After so many times of being told to be one thing by Reginald Hargreeves, it felt like second nature to tell Ben you weren’t what he said you were. It felt surreal to have someone other than Diego in your corner claiming you were more than you wanted to acknowledge.
Ben shook his head. “In another universe, you could’ve been a Sparrow. I mean, what just happened in there?” He pointed back to the Academy. “You could’ve influenced everyone in there and be done with this shit.”
“That’s not me. I do that to people who hurt us. Not my own family.”
“No, that’s not it. You know what I think? You’re just so scared to show your true potential. Show them what you can do. I’ve seen you. If you were able to blast me away by creating a shield of kinetic energy, you should be able to hold something else in place.”
You narrowed your eyes at Ben’s advocacy on your behalf, feeling overwhelmed by his mere presence. “Why are you so adamant in analyzing all of my powers? Is this your plan to recruit me? You already gained Luther. What else do you want?”
“I’m trying to help you. You could be so much more than just the girl who feels stuff around her,” Ben said with utter passion in his voice, making the veins in his neck protrude.
“Wow, I’m being psychoanalyzed by you because I’d rather not take care of a ball of lightning? So, tell me, what else am I supposed to be afraid of?” Yes, you were being defensive, but maybe a small part of you actually wanted to hear someone state objectively—more or less—that you could hold your own to someone like Allison or Viktor.
Well, Viktor was kind of a big deal. You favored the possible outcome of at least standing firm against him for about five minutes or without instantly dying.
“You’re terrified of losing them. How they would react to the magnitude of your true self. You think everyone is like Dad. But they’re not. Screw everyone else if they are.”
Wow, resilient Ben was something else. Especially if he defied—at least mentally—someone like his father. Knowing it would be a long time coming before he would actually turn away from him.
You remained silent, trying to process his analysis before you finally found your voice again. “Did you give Viktor the same pep talk when you tried to rouse his participation?”
Ben smirked at the memory. “You know I can be very inspiring.” He sighed heavily, offering his hand. As if it took a lot out of him to even provide the gesture. “Come on.”
Your heart was beating wildly in your chest. After some hesitation, you exhaled and reached forward until you felt the warmth of his hand. Trying to pretend you didn’t sense Ben’s respect for you once you touched his bare skin. He helped you down from the cornice.
You sighed, knowing that time was of the essence. “Let’s just do this.”
Tumblr media
As soon as Ben and you headed down to the basement, you noticed how both families were already gathered.
Five turned around, with his arms crossed. “Nice of you to join us. Wouldn’t have been the same without you.”
Diego wearily rolled his eyes. “Five’s just being Five. He didn’t have his coffee yet. We could use your magic touch, you know.”
Truth be told, Five always felt like a dark horse to you. And someone who behaved like an old man when he finally blinked back. Sometimes you just wished that you could actually get to know him. Not just the stories of legendary status about the outlier of the family who first defied Reginald. It felt like this was the only thing keeping you from truly becoming a part of this family. As much as you yearned to be. Running from one apocalypse to the next didn’t make you feel like Five even had the time to get to know the newest member of the family.
“You okay, kid?” Diego asked quietly, appraising your eyes for any mental harm shining through.
You nodded calmly to cease him from worrying too much. Something else caught your eye though. With wariness you scrutinized the Kugelblitz in the center of the basement. “So, that’s the thing, huh?”
Fei stepped forward. “If you mean the entity which is responsible for the collapse of micro black holes absorbing everything around it, then yes.”
“And absorbing billions of people so far. I don’t think we have a lot of time,” you said anxiously.
“No time like the present then.” Ben clapped his hands once, ready to get rid of the universal threat for good.
“Okay, how do we start?” Viktor inquired with a curious mindset.
Sloane did the honors of explaining. “Have you ever moved a nest of bees? You can’t just pick it up. You have to keep the nest calm while you build a box around it, and then you trap it.” Her eyes met yours. “Ben said you could contain it. Keep your shield over mine.”
You merely nodded in understanding.
“One of those black holes inside is vibrating at a different rate,” Fei continued.
“I can feel them.” Viktor nodded.
“Good. Whatever happens, don’t let them speed up or change, or everything will blow.”
“Don’t shake the bees. Got it,” Viktor replied to Fei.
He started it off by becoming paler and controlling the vibration frequency, with Lila mimicking his actions. As soon as Sloane used her gravitational powers to condense it, you pushed forth a telekinetic shield from within to keep the entity contained.
Grace’s voice spoke faintly from the stairs. “You didn’t tell me you were building a prison for God.”
“Mom?” Diego asked confusedly.
“The day of vengeance was in my heart and my year of redemption hath come,” she said ominously before pointing a flamethrower towards anyone standing in her way.
You kept one hand focused on the ball of lightning while stretching out your other arm, using an encircling shield to keep them safe. Inadvertently, the flames started to lick Grace’s skin. “Does anyone mind? Not good at multitasking here,” you said while keeping your eyes set on this universe destroyer.
Five had the good sense to blink her away before Diego would have to take care of his surrogate mother himself.
The moment when everything was calm again, Christopher disintegrated into smaller cube pieces, containing the Kugelblitz. You watched in suspense, feeling Ben move closer to you.
Sloane held Luther’s hand. “Next Kugelwave in three, two, one.”
Everyone held their breath. Counting the seconds after the destruction was supposed to take place. Almost like you expected something wrong to happen.
You were studying Christopher when the sentient box released a fart.
Exhaling a breath of relief, you looked at the others while chuckling.
You could swear you even heard him utter audible sounds which sounded close to, “Oh, was that me?”

The Sparrows certainly knew how to party and have a good time. Once the Kugelblitz had been dealt with, Sparrows and Umbrellas alike danced and drank together. Diego was a good sport by cutting off the top of champagne bottles with a katana before Ben poured the alcohol into the flutes of any willing participants.
You had the perfect view from the couch while Ben was getting sloshed and kept on filling Five’s champagne glass. It was actually hilarious to witness.
Diego was having fun dancing while balancing the longsword and jostling Ben from behind every time he tried drinking straight from the bottle.
You eyed the approaching company joining your lonesome self.
“Is someone having fun?” Fei asked with a smile.
You lifted your glass for show. “Already did. This is me relaxing and enjoying myself.”
“I saw that. You and Sloane seem close.”
You narrowed your eyes, remembering you dancing with Luther, Diego and Sloane at times. Your relationship to the Sparrows was slightly less tense than you were used to. But due to the power struggles within that family and maybe some hesitation in your own family, you still decided to keep your distance from Ben.
Despite the dark-eyed stares he was sending you from across the room. You remembered the few times when he leaned his body against your back while playfully filling up your glass when it was starting to empty. Ben’s body language was more than obvious that he wouldn’t mind a few dances with you. But you also knew he would never do that, especially with his family members watching.
“Well, of course, she’s a sweetheart. Not to mention, Luther’s lady love.”
Fei hummed. “So, you like solitude, huh?”
“Sometimes. Keeps me calm.”
“Well, Allison just left, so your mood should definitely increase by not feeling her presence.”
You shrugged. “As long as Viktor and Allison are not in the same vicinity, sure.”
“That was some good work you did in the basement. It really makes me wonder though … the fact that your family didn’t advocate your skills in the first place. I mean, why would my brother throw your hat in the ring? He seemed really certain … that you would deliver.”
Fei’s suspicious mind being disguised as interest didn’t put you at ease. “What do you mean? He just wanted this entity out of his basement. The sooner, the better. Now he has one less thing to worry about.”
“Just curious about his involvement, that’s all.” Fei braced her arm against the backrest of the sofa and leaned closer in a secretive manner. Giving off an impression which bordered on threatening and being your best friend. “Sounds very altruistic. The problem with that is, Ben isn’t the selfless kind, he always has something else in mind. I mean, he mentions your name and instead of sending one of your brothers, he’s getting you himself? Sounds interesting, don’t you think?”
Your eyes caught Ben who was already staring at you and Fei with a frown. You gazed speculatively at Fei again. “Is there still some internal power struggle I should know about?”
Fei threw her head back to cackle, like you had said the most entertaining thing ever. “Isn’t there always?”
You bit your lower lip and stood up. “Why the curiosity?”
Fei remained seated when she looked up at you. “Someone has to keep their guard up. I’d hate for you to turn into my enemy,” she said monotonously, so matter-of-factly.
“Ditto.” You checked your surroundings to watch out for the remaining guests. Noticing how Lila just followed after a departing Diego. Maybe it was time to slowly hit the road while things were somewhat amicable. “You know what? I think I’m going to hit the kitchen if that’s okay. I need to get some food into me.”
She waved a hand to indicate her consent. “You do that.”

~ Ben POV ~
The moment when you left the room, Ben was certain something had happened. The strange look you sent him before was the first clue that something was off. He grabbed Fei’s arm when she was about to cross the room. “What did you do, Fei?”
She smiled innocently. “Do? I didn’t do anything. Just had a little chat with your Empath.”
Fei calling you by that nickname left an uncomfortable feeling in his stomach. Ben spoke through gritted teeth, “About what?”
She tilted her head to stare straight at him. “You, of course. You’re quite fascinated with her, aren’t you?”
Ben let out a scoff before smirking. “So, you can’t see it? What she’s capable of? Someone who can control the feelings of others? Unlike you, I see the big picture. Proves why you’re not Number One, huh?” He turned his head, knowing that the party was winding down. “You’re saying she left already?”
Fei crossed her arms and enunciated, “Your little Empath was just hungry.”

Absentmindedly, you appreciated the cold taste of Rocky Road in your mouth while sitting at the kitchen table.
“So, this is your idea of celebrating?”
Not realizing you were being watched since you were so distracted from your wayward thoughts, you looked up to see Ben leaning against the doorjamb. “This is me eating my fill.” You let your scoop-filled spoon hover in the air and smiled giddily. You glanced down, taking out another spoonful. “You know, since I’m having a taste of you.”
Ben tilted his head, huffing with small laughter. “Sounds hot.”
You rolled your eyes at that dirty mind of his and moaned, letting the frozen dessert melt in your mouth. “Not like that. You guys even have an ice cream brand and actually keep that stuff here.”
“Right.” With that, he stepped forward into the kitchen.
“I mean, it’s alright. Probably way too overpriced.” Your enthusiasm awakened and you turned your head to look at Ben. “Wait, does Christopher have a flavor?”
“Birthday cake.”
“Huh, not what I expected. Weirdly fits,” you muttered under your breath and shook your head to clear your head. “Anyway, just decided to have something to eat, otherwise I would just fall asleep. Fei said it was okay.”
Ben wandered to the cupboards, opening and shutting drawers. “There is still a bed, you know. Still hasn’t changed.”
You chuckled, pointing with your thumb behind you without looking. “Behind me.”
He pulled out a spoon and arrogantly waved it around. “Right, I knew that.”
You nodded, pursing your lips at his make-believe. “Sure you did.”
Ben got himself a taste after sitting on the bar stool diagonally across from you.
You slid the tub closer to the middle of the wooden table. “Besides, don’t think that’s a good idea.”
He didn’t seem to agree when he frowned in confusion. “Why is that?”
You laughed, like it should’ve been obvious. “Because of your sister? She probably has her crow spies everywhere. Especially after today.”
Ben chuckled to himself and widened his eyes sarcastically. “Wow, get over yourself, you’re not that special. Was just offering a bed. Purely platonic.”
“Don’t be such an asshole.”
“Told you, I’m nice guy Ben.”
His statement made you observe him silently and place your fist under your chin. “Sure you are.”
“I heard the two of you had a conversation. What did Fei want to talk about?”
You rolled your eyes. “I’m not getting in the middle of whatever it is the two of you are playing.”
“Can’t change the nature of people.” Ben licked the cold treat from his lips. “Still didn’t answer the question. What made you want to flee for the kitchen?”
Sarcasm made your eyes light up. “A healthy appetite.”
“If you say so.”
“Not going to divulge more, in case you want to further examine the details of my powers into your Eight dossier.” Sometimes you had to catch yourself from saying more. Since you had been seconds away from straight-out telling him that overexerting yourself just made you hungry in general. And if it was a good enough excuse to evade Ben’s sister, then so be it.
Narrowing his eyes in incredulity, Ben felt disgruntled for your sake. “Is that such a bad thing wanting you to expand your powers?”
“Not if it’s just your intent to gain some sort of upper hand.”
Ben’s eyes darkened seductively when he pointed his spoon at you. “You’re saying I still can’t persuade you just a little bit to join our little ragtag group of Sparrows?”
You leaned your body forward mischievously. “Are you saying I can’t appeal to you to join our band of misfits instead?”
Ben scoffed loudly, straightening up in his seat. “Hard pass.”
A self-assured expression lingered on your face when you spoke with a dry tone. “Right. Who knew our families could work together after all?”
“Oh please, only a few of them are bearable.”
With warmth in your cheeks, you felt yourself gush, “Look at you making friends. I’m so proud of you.”
Ben smirked mockingly. “You’re hilarious.”
Your mind went back to the party, remembering the unusual side of Ben just having fun. “Were you trying to get Five drunk?”
Ben chuckled. “Someone’s got to keep the old man in line.”
“Priorities, hmm?” You sighed, looking outside the window above the sink and noticing how dark it already was. “Anyway, I have to go. You know, not to overstay our welcome. Thanks for the dessert.” You closed the lid of the tub and jumped down from your seat.
He smiled sardonically. “I wish I could say ‘Anytime’, but, you know, still got a reputation to uphold.” Ben copied your stance, staring directly at you under the dim lighting.
Willing to play his little charade, you smiled softly. “Of course you do,” you retorted, wordlessly taking the spoons and placing them in the sink. You heard Ben stash the ice cream back into the freezer before he closed the refrigerator with a dull thud. You could feel your skin getting warmer the longer he was watching you intently.
You tilted your head in concentration and felt your eyes light up when Ben’s emotional state came in waves towards you. “Why the curiosity?” You turned around until you were gazing at Ben.
With a rough and quiet voice, he twirled his finger while muttering, “Turn back around.”
Pursing your lips with a humming sound, you followed his request and looked through the window which oversaw the courtyard. “You don’t expect me to tell you where the knives are, do you?”
Ben snorted at your imagination. “You think this is an elaborate ploy to stab you to death?”
“I don’t know, Brutus. Could be an interesting endgame.”
“Then tell me, what do you feel right now?”
You closed your eyes, breathing in deeply to center yourself. “Your playfulness, your curiosity.” You opened your eyes again when something else reached you. “Oh wow, you can’t wait to touch me, huh?”
Exasperation was added to the mix when he stepped closer. Ben exhaled heavily before you could feel his presence behind you. His warm breath tickled the back of your neck and his fingers danced around the nape of your neck, gently brushing your hair to the side.
“Are those goosebumps?” Ben purred.
You chuckled, watching Ben’s reflection through the window. “To spare your ego, I think I’m gonna have to decline to answer.”
“What’s that?” He asked, stroking the ink on the back of your neck.
You licked your lips almost in anticipation. “It’s called a tattoo. I don’t know if you guys have that in this universe.”
Ben ignored your amusing nature when you threw him a sassy look over your shoulder. “What’s it stand for?”
“What makes you think it stands for anything?” You whispered, getting lost in this intimate atmosphere.
Frowning in concentration, Ben analyzed the tattoo. You already knew what he was looking at. The base of two pyramids overlapping and facing each other, with a respective line drawn horizontally beneath the apex of both triangle shapes. His fingers carefully traced the shapes before he spoke slowly, “For sure. Very intricate lines. You probably picked this because you thought it looked cool, right?”
“I made the draft. Klaus was the one who held the needle.”
“And Klaus is … who?”
“The guy you punched?” When Ben showed no further reaction, you continued, “When we arrived?”
“Right. For a second I confused him with knife boy. Since, you know, mentally, I punched your knife brother-”
You rolled your eyes and interjected, “Diego.”
Like you hadn’t said a thing, Ben continued, “Countless of times in my head.”
You sighed, remembering the pure form of testosterone being released every time they faced each other. “You two shouldn’t even be in the room together.”
Ben’s voice turned mockingly lighthearted. “Oh, you promise?” It shifted into something mildly curious. “Keep going.”
You teasingly asked, “What do you think it means?”
“Putting me in the spot again? Alright. If it’s coming from you, they’re probably … the alchemy symbols for the four elements?”
He already knew.
You huffed, lightly shoving him back with your shield of energy. “Fucking asshole.” You turned your body. Despite your furrowed brows, an astonished smile still lingered on your face. You had to respect him for the hustle he was playing while pretending otherwise. Or at least his subterfuge as a way to touch your skin.
Ben braced himself against the jostling chairs with his hands while one tentacle shot out to keep his balance. Slightly taken aback by your vehement reaction, he chuckled, letting pure joy shine in his eyes. “Wow, was this as hot for you as it was for me? I like this version of you.”
You chose to ignore his idea of flirting. “I can’t believe you were trying to screw with me.”
The tentacle retracted into his stomach again. “I wasn’t. Well, not totally. Doesn’t explain the reason behind it. Why the four elements?”
“I figured after Reginald forced this tattoo on us, I should choose for myself what I really want to do with my body. And I learned while Klaus and I were experimenting with his recreational stuff-”
You appreciated the small moment of real and unguarded whimsy in Ben’s eyes. Something candid than just the sarcastic kind.
“I learned that my powers would enhance when I was connected to some of those elements. Like some sort of physical conduit. Showed me that everything was connected around me. That my mind could settle when everything around me was calm.”
His body language shifted into something more calculating with his next words. “Maybe you should just influence your environment, so you can finally calm your mind.”
“That would be more like a temporary solution.”
“Perhaps you should just stick with me. This way I can show you a better perspective than what your family is offering you.” Ben placed his hands in his pockets. “It could help you sleep better at night.” Almost like he was reminding you of his proposal, he widened his arms. “Offer still stands, you know.”
You chuckled. “Maybe next time,” you said, merely delaying the inevitable. With a small sigh, you advanced towards him until there was barely any distance separating the two of you. With delicate motions, you touched his neck, letting warmth wander through your fingertips.
His skin started to glow dimly under your hand. Wordlessly, he covered your hand with his. A part of you wanted to believe that he wanted you to burrow yourself deeper into him.
Ben inhaled deeply. “I’ll hold you up to that.”

YOUR SONG • THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY (season 1)
Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Five, Ben, Viktor
just imagine these songs being in the OST and playing during those “scenes” ;) you’re number 8 btw. english isn’t my first language so sorry if you spot any mistake. enjoy ☂️
LUTHER
Tumblr media
/ your power : telepathy /
"I'm going to miss you..."
"I'll miss you too..."
Against his broad chest, you held back your tears as his hand gently caressed your scalp.
"We'll talk every night, won't we?"
"I promise..."
You pulled away and looked at him for a long time. He fixed his gaze on your lips, weighing the pros and cons of his intentions. Just as he was about to close the distance between you, your father burst into the room.
"It's time to go, Number 1. Clear out, Number 8, this isn't the time to distract him."
Luther finally planted a quick kiss on your cheek, leaving you breathless, a terrible frustration swelling within you.
Days, months, and years passed. Every night, you would retreat to the roof to gaze at the moon, talking to Luther thanks to your telepathy ability. You often fell asleep first, and Grace would come to cover you with a blanket when the nights grew a bit chilly. Luther loved to hum a song, Flares, as if to remind himself that you would always be there for him, sending him out flares.
DIEGO
Tumblr media
/ your power : see the future /
A soft light filtered into the gymnasium's basement. A faint music coming from upstairs woke you up. You grumbled and stormed up the stairs. Wearing nothing but an old t-shirt belonging to your brother—and, incidentally, your boyfriend (no, thankfully, it’s not incest)—you flung the door open and saw Diego dancing with a mop in the ring. You burst out laughing, which made him jump.
"Am I dreaming, or are you laughing at me?"
You tried to respond, but tears were welling up in the corners of your eyes. Bent over with laughter, you suddenly felt warm droplets splash across your face: he had just splashed you with the mop. You stared at him for a long moment and jumped on the ring trying to catch him.
A wild fight ensued, in rhythm with the music, with the floor becoming extremely slippery due to the water. You delivered several kicks at him, which he blocked with the broomstick. It was a fight worthy of a Bruce Lee movie. Since both of you were very skilled in martial arts (and because you could anticipate each of his moves thanks to your power of visualizing the near future), you lowered your guard to let him win for once. Diego grabbed you by the waist, and you both tumbled near the entrance.
You ended up on top of each other, just like in all those wonderful clichés. Just as Number 2 was about to kiss you, the boss of the place stormed in. He flew into a rage and rushed toward the radio. Unfortunately, he slipped and crashed face-first onto the floor, making you both burst out laughing. Well... you had to clean up everything afterward, and in silence. Still, those moments of total hilarity were and still are the best ...
ALLISON
Tumblr media
/ your power : water manipulation /
Having become a renowned actress, Allison traveled extensively. As for Patrick, he worked a lot. You were the perfect candidate to look after Claire. Having left the Umbrella Academy at the same time as your sister, you were inseparable, and whenever she returned from a shoot, you were so happy to spend time together.
Claire adored you, and you managed to calm her tantrums easily, greatly relieving Allison.
One evening, as your sister came home late, you put Claire to bed. She was having trouble falling asleep. So, you waved your finger over a glass, filling it with fresh water, and placed it on her nightstand. Then, with a soft and soothing voice, you hummed the lullaby Wendy sings to the Lost Boys in Peter Pan, her favorite cartoon. It was a routine that worked every time. Allison arrived in the middle of your performance and deliberately stayed behind the door to listen. Once Claire was asleep, you chuckled.
"I know you're there," you whispered.
"I know you know." she giggles.
"I heard a rumor that you stop spying on me."
"You know I can’t help it. It’s adorable. Thanks for everything."
You chuckled and rolled your eyes. It didn’t bother you at all. You went downstairs and opened a bottle of wine to celebrate her return. Patrick left you two alone, and you silently thanked him because these moments with your sister were the best.
KLAUS
Tumblr media
/ your power : animal metamorphosis /
It was an evening like any other. Or at least, that’s what you hoped. You were waiting for Klaus outside the nightclub he was in so you could take him home. You preferred to be the one who did so rather than letting him leave alone in a terrible state. As the agreed-upon time had passed, you sighed and stormed out of your car. You entered the club without any difficulty, as the bouncer recognized you immediately. It had its perks to be a member of the Umbrella Academy back then. You searched the entire club for Klaus and finally found him on the rooftop. He was shouting incomprehensible things while walking along the edge of the building. You rushed to join him.
"Klaus, get down. Right now," you ordered, pulling on his sleeve.
"Oh Y/N, I’m so happy to see you!" he chirped, his persistent sniffles confirming to you that he had relapsed again.
"It’s not funny, Klaus, you could..."
Before you could even finish your sentence, he slipped off the edge of the building and fell into the void. Immediately, you transformed into a falcon and dove toward the ground, but it was too late: he had already crashed. Blood was pouring from the back of his head, but that didn’t stop you from kneeling beside him and resting his head on your lap.
"Damn it, Klaus..." you cried, pressing your forehead against his. "You’re such an idiot..."
It was as if your world had just collapsed, all because of some damn white powder and a brother who was a little too dependent. Suddenly, he took a huge breath, coming back from the dead. You were completely shocked.
"Oh! I knew you’d catch me. You always catch me," he chuckled, pressing his temple against your chest like a little child.
And then he fell asleep. You were stunned and took him back to your car. He had been dead... and then alive. High but alive. You didn’t quite understand what had just happened, and you never talked to him about it until he discovered his ability to resurrect in 1963. That explained a lot …
FIVE
Tumblr media
/ your power : healing /
Since Five disappeared, not a day had passed without you searching for a way to find him. You studied all sorts of science books, looking for theories on time travel or anything related. Then, you expanded your research to history books, wondering if he might have done something that left a mark on time. When you were too tired to read, you helped Viktor make peanut butter sandwiches just in case he reappeared.
After leaving the Umbrella Academy when you came of age, you continued your research, scouring every library. But what you didn’t know was that a certain organization known as The Temps Commission had taken an interest in you and was considering recruiting you. Whether it was for your relentless determination, your knowledge of time travel, or your healing abilities, you could only be an asset.
When The Handler found you in an aisle of the Dallas Central Library, you immediately accepted her offer. If anyone had information on Five, it would be them. But your disappointment was immense when you found no trace of him once you were there. That didn’t stop you from continuing your search for many years, so much so that, after a while, Herb secretly helped you through the Infinite Switchboard. And that’s how you found Five, in the middle of the apocalypse. Having no right to interfere with the timeline, you begged The Handler to recruit him as an agent, just like you.
"I’ll think about it," she had said, even though she had already been watching him for 30 years.
Then, one fine day, you were summoned to The Handler’s office. Five was there too.
"Five, I present to you your partner, Y/N Hargreeves. Well, you already know each other. I’ll leave you to it."
She left the room, leaving you two standing there, arms hanging by your sides.
"I found you," he let out.
"I found you," you replied. "I trusted the signs, so I made my way back to you somehow."
"Pathetic," he chuckled, though a smile tugged at his lips.
"I'm glad to see you too, Five," you sighed, smiling just as much.
BEN
Tumblr media
/ your power : invisibility /
As Ben was reading, an upbeat music filled the house. The 11-year-old boy went to the living room and saw Grace and you dancing the Rock'N Roll while laughing. Mom was teaching you some steps, her eternal pristine smile fixed on her face.
"Oh, Ben, you’re here! Do you want to give it a try?"
You jumped at the sight of your brother and suddenly disappeared, your cheeks turning red.
"Y/N, show yourself…" Grace sighed, amused.
"Yeah, you were doing great!" exclaimed the young boy.
You reappeared, looking at him with hesitation.
"Really?"
"Cross my heart!"
"Alright, kids, let's continue! Take my hand and follow my steps!"
So you listened to him, dancing awkwardly on the living room carpet. Your siblings watched you from the walkway. At one point, Ben let go of Mom and made his tentacles appear. He began making sort of waves in rhythm, which made everyone laugh. Your father and Pogo were in the surveillance room. The chimpanzee glanced at his master: he was smiling discreetly. Eventually, all the other children came to join you, even Viktor, who had always felt excluded. These moments of joy and freedom were rare. Your gaze met Ben's, sparkling. So, this was happiness.
After Ben's death, whenever you felt sad, your radio would turn on by itself to play that eternal song, warming your heart. Much later, Klaus told you that Ben's ghost had been watching over you and, not wanting to scare you, this was the most discreet way to comfort you.
VIKTOR
Tumblr media
On this September 6th, 1997, everyone felt relaxed because it was Saturday, and every first Saturday of the month was a day off for the Umbrella Academy. No training until Monday. Of course, the children were encouraged to study, but that was certainly not on your mind, nor on Viktor's. As you were watching TV, sitting on the floor, a news flash interrupted your documentary on Canadian otters. Lady Diana's funeral was being broadcast live from London.
"She was so beautiful," you sighed, resting your chin on your knees, which were encircled by your arms.
"I'm sure it wasn't an accident," Viktor murmured conspiratorially, looking absent-minded.
His pale face suddenly lit up, and he immediately straightened.
"Look! It's Elton John!"
Immediately, you pressed your little noses against the screen to watch the singer enter the abbey. The presenter announced that he was going to sing a final tribute to his late best friend.
"Move away from the screen, you'll hurt your eyes," Grace gently instructed, holding a tray filled with cookies.
“Mom! Can you record this, please?" you exclaimed without even turning around.
“Of course, Number 8," she replied.
"Imagine if we could play this song ! You with the violin and me with the piano !" you giggled.
Viktor nodded with a large smile, still absorbed by the man's performance. Ever since, you've watched repeatedly the tape Grace made you, learning the partition thanks to your perfect pitch. You'd usually play along to distract your father who appreciated it. Oh he never said so but his silence was quite approving.

✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
Ben ripped your panties off as he pushed you against the wall, you squealed as your bare back hit the cold tile.
"those panties were new ben!" you lamented while your lover caressed your thighs
"I can buy you more" he replied, meeting his soft lips with yours, you broke the kiss when you felt his tip against your entrance
"you're so wet y/n" he murmured embalmed, stroking his hardness a few times before pushing into your walls; you and ben screamed out their groans of pleasure, the once familiar feeling wrecking their bodies. The air rushed out of your lungs as ben slowly pushed into you.
"fuck.." you gasped feeling how his dick stretched your walls, reaching all the way to the bottom
ben left sloppy kisses on your jaw and lips, his thrusts were hard but slow, he knew your body better than you did and knew what you liked; he felt heavenly.
"you're taking m..
"aunt y/n" you and ben stopped when you two heard little Stan's voice behind the bathroom door
"shit" you whispered
"y/n, why is Stan here?"
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
"Why do we have to take care of Diego's son?" Ben asked crossing his arms as he watched Stan eat candies, he was still upset about the interruption and the problem he had to deal with without your help.
" 'cause he's my nephew, which makes you his uncle." Ben narrowed his eyes, not quite convinced that he wanted to be a babysitter.
"when you said we were going to have a lot of fun I figured it would be another kind of fun" he lit a cigarette as he spoke, you sighed approaching him
"don't smoke when stan is around " you took the cigarette from his lips "you'll give him a bad example" you said, putting the cigarette out.
Your lover frowned "well honey, his father is Diego, he already has a bad example" you hit his shoulder at his words
"hey, you're talking about my brother"
"then let's stop doing it" ben suggested, wrapping his hands around your waist as he pulled your in "you and I have unfinished business" you smiled kissing the tip of his nose
"If you behave with Stan then you can finish what you started" you proposed
Ben sighed when you kissed him, he leaned to deepen the kiss
"aunt y/n, can we have ice cream?" the kiss broke off abruptly
"Of course, honey! and your uncle ben will pay for it" you answered smiling
Ben sighed " just do it for her" he whispered for himself as he watching you and Stan leave the room.

Loud footsteps made you all slowly turn. Still half confused about the sudden change in interior. Your eyes widened at the sight of him at the upper level. – “Ben!” – you exclaimed happily. The Ben at the top grabbed the railing, jumping over it as he landed firm on his feet. He slowly rose while you were gaping in awe at him. – “Ben!” – Klaus said loudly, opening his arms to go and hug him. Ben pulled his nose up, slapping his arms away. – “You are trespassing hobo.” – he commented in detest.
Klaus pressed his hand to his heart, shocked. – “You hurt my feelings Ben.”  - Klaus said making Ben scoff. – “A matter of fact… you all are.” – Ben continued, tugging his hand in his pocket. – “What’s with the uniform?” – Five questioned. It was only now that you all noticed it. The change of color and emblem on his uniform. – “You wouldn’t get it schoolboy.” – Ben responded. Five clenched his jaw, ready to jump at him if Luther hadn’t held him back.
Your eyes widened seeing more people appear on the upper level. – “Need any help brother?” – a girl spoke. Ben held his hand up. – “I can handle these…” – his gaze went obviously up and down cocky over your posture. – “Children.” – he addressed glancing at Five. Five gritted his teeth as you held him back by his shoulder.
“We aren’t trespassing this is our home!” – Luther called out. – “We are the Umbrella academy.” – he said looking at his siblings to back him up. – “You are dead.” – he added pointing at Ben. Ben scoffed loud. – “Clearly I’m not!” – he said. – “And this is the Sparrow academy.” – he explained as his siblings came downstairs. – “Sparrow?” – Diego whispered out, looking at Victor. Victor shrugged his shoulders. You stepped forwards making Ben glance intrigued at what you might say.
“Maybe this is all kind of messed up. I mean we did just time-jump back here.” – you concluded. – “But that man…” – you pointed at the portrait of Reginald. – “Is our father.” – you finished. Ben chuckled, eying you up and down. – “Oh right! Time-jump well maybe father saw how useless you all are and decided he needed to adopt other children. Children who wouldn’t be so worthless.” – he pushed you back by your forehead.
You stumbled back as Diego caught you before you could trip. – “Sparrow Ben is a dick!” – you told him seeing him nod. Clearly this Ben wasn’t like the Ben you knew. The Ben you grew up with. Ben glanced over his shoulder to his siblings by his side. – “Let’s show them out.” – he smirked, expression hardening on you. – “That one’s mine.” – he grunted out. You swallowed nervously slowly backing up.
Ben moved his body as his tentacle arms shot out. You screamed loud when they lurched towards you. You quickly dove under the coffee table as a tentacle missed you. Eyes widened when the table got lifted up. Ben tilting his head murderously enjoyable at you. – “Gotcha!” – he laughed out. You shrieked moving your hands up to block his next attack. Ben smiled greedily when he forced his tentacles down to you. You gasped hard when your brother Five popped up near you, knelt down.
In a split second he had his arms around you, teleporting with you. Ben’s tentacles went down, grabbing thin air as it made him glare. You re-appeared in the hallway, gasping loud. – “Definitely not our Ben.” – you breathed out. Five held his finger up telling you to wait while he teleported again. – “Umbrella girl.” – you heard Ben call out tauntingly. – “Come out and play.” – he went on making you tense your jaw. So not your Ben.
You left your hiding place, spotting Diego throwing knives coming into the hallway backwards. He nearly bumped into you, ready to throw knives at you. – “Watch me sis, I got knives!” – he scolded you. Diego and you backed up when Ben came in the hallway. – “There you are!” – he said as you were standing behind your brother, hand on his shoulder.
Your eyes falling on the knife he was holding. – “I’ll take that.” – you told Diego, plucking the knife from him. – “Wha…?” – before he could be more visibly confused, you threw the knife at Ben. It scraped his arm, sliding his vest a bit open. The knife clattered to the ground as you smiled embarrassed at him. Ben grunted looking at his torn vest. Diego gave you a brotherly slap against the back of your head. – “Don’t touch my knives.” – he called out. – “Diego not the right time.” – you told him between a held up smile. – “No Y/n I already told you; you don’t touch my knives.” – he continued holding his finger up.
Meanwhile Ben cracked his knuckles readying himself to attack you with his tentacles again. – “Diego Run!” – you shouted, pulling him with you by his vest. His eyes widened seeing the tentacles speeding his way. Diego quickened his pace, taking the front as he was dragging you along now. You made it outside just in time. Out of breath you encountered Klaus sitting on the porch. – “Oh there you are I was starting to wonder if any of you were going to show up.” – he casually said making Diego nudge his legs to get up.
Not a moment later busted Allison, Luther, and Victor out. Five teleported a second later, adjusting his vest. – “Now this is a major issue.” – he said stroking his hand over the back of his head. – “You think!” – Allison blurted out. She scoffed loud taking a walk. Luther going after her which led to Victor following to Diego and Klaus following. You motioned to Five with your head to come along. He nodded giving you a weary smile.
*
Ben clicked his tongue hatefully at you. You rolled your eyes at him. – “Is Luther here? I know you have him so don’t even try to lie to me.” – you called out, letting yourself in the Sparrow Academy without approval of him. Ben scoffed, grabbing you by your wrist to a stop. – “Listen princess, what if we have him?” – Ben said as you pulled your hand out of his grip. – “Maybe he finally has seen how much more potential this family has considered against yours.” – he mocked, knowing it would taunt you.
You tensed your jaw, glaring at him. You turned away from him, shouting loud in the hallway. – “Luther! Luther come down!” – your voice booming loud in the hallway. Ben grabbed your hand to stop you as he immediately flinched his hand back after coming in contact with yours. He rubbed his hand. – “So you do have abilities. For a while I thought you were their mascot.” – he replied with a sneer. You smiled sarcastically at him, showing him your hand as electricity moved around your fingers.
You had given him a small electric shock the moment he grabbed your hand. – “Luther! Come out we are going home!” – you yelled loud. Ben grabbed for your shoulder as you flung your arm back to release his touch on you. – “Listen squid, you touch me one more time and I’ll fry you!” – you threatened. Ben chuckled. – “I’d like to see you try.”
He didn’t have to say that twice. You let electricity surround your hands, extending your hands out to him as the electricity hit him flat in the chest. Ben got flung against the wall, dropping coughingly down. He pressed his hand against his chest watching you walk off. – “Luther! Luther where the hell are you?” – you shouted for his attention. As you were about to step on the stairs, your path was blocked by Christopher. He changed color while bleeping something.
“You want to have a go cube?” – you taunted having enough of being held back. Christopher turned a bright red as you acted faster than him. You electrocuted him. His entire cube shivering till he dropped to the ground. – “Luther!” – you screamed out stepping over the cube. You came upstairs, hearing Luther’s voice come from out of a room. You went in, trying not to be amazed by the gym set up in the house. – “Y/n?” – Luther said confused jumping up.
Sloane sitting beside him as she stopped smiling. You pointed at him. – “We are going home!” – you made clear. Luther looked briefly down at Sloane, hesitating. – “Luther I said we are going home!” – you repeated not wanting to stay one minute longer with the Sparrows. Out of breath appeared Ben behind you. – “Luther you don’t have to go if you don’t want to.” – he said rather warmly and caring.
It made you frown, staring stunned at his sudden friendliness. – “Shut up!” – you told him, having enough of his ego. – “Luther. Let’s go home.” – you said in a friendlier tone. Luther was still hesitant as you could practically hear Ben snicker in your ear. – “Luther I am your family. I’m your sister… please come home…I need you.” – you begged as Ben snorted loud at your confession.
You let your hand be surrounded by electricity as you touched Ben’s side. He jumped aside at the sudden sting in his side. Luther sighed deep, apologizing to Sloane. He walked over to you as you hugged him. Or rather he hugged you, lifting you up and squashing you in his tight embrace. – “Let’s go home sis.” – he said patting you on the head. You stuck your tongue out to Ben to rub it just that little bit more in his face.
Ben gave you a smile full of mockery back. God how much you hated him. How you also hated that he was exactly like the Ben you knew only raised more messed up. Ben stepped aside allowing you to leave with Luther. – “Are we just going to let them leave?” – Jayme questioned loudly. – “Let’s just kill them now!” – She insisted on. Ben held his hand up to silence her. Looking back to you for as long as he could.
*
Jayme was running after you. Glancing over your shoulder, you saw her approaching. Her expression hard and tense. Puffing loudly, you tried to keep in front of her, outrunning her. – “Hey Umbrella!” – she called out tauntingly speeding up. You felt her grip to you closer, her hand moving over your back to put you to a stop. You came to a halt as she had grabbed a hold of your hair. – “I wasn’t done talking.” – she said teasingly pulling you back by your hair.
You inhaled sharp through your nose, at the brink of giving her a piece of your own mind. You stepped back as she kept moving backwards. Feeling a sudden tug on your hair, made you turn your head to look. Ben’s hand firm around her wrist as he had pulled it off you. – “What are you doing?” – he said coldly, pushing her wrist to her it made her stumble backwards. Jayme puffed some hair out of her face. – “Getting revenge on the umbrella.” – she called out, glaring at you.
Ben glared right back at her. You observed their interaction with curiosity. Ben glanced your way, softening his expression. With a touch of his hand on your lower back, you felt your heart flutter for him. – “Ben let me just…” – Jayme started launching her hand at you. Ben caught her by the wrist again. Her hand clawed out inches away from your face. It made you widen your eyes brief, taking a subtle step back to have her hand out of your face. He swayed his finger to the side, shaking his head.
Jayme gritted her teeth, slapping her hand out of his grip, accidently hitting him in the face. Ben touched his cheek from the impact. Your eyes widened and hardened with anger. – “You hit him!” – you called out. – “How dare you hit him!” – you added while Ben waved his hand at you that it was alright. You called out a war cry, jumping at Jayme. You wrapped your legs around her while slapping her on top of her head. Jayme was receiving the impact trying to get you off. – “Get her off!” – Jayme screamed irritated.
Ben simply crossed his arms, smiling teasingly at you. You jumped off her, puffing loud. Jayme glared, readying her teeth to spit at you. Before she could spit at you, you electrocuted her. Her body spasmed till she dropped unconscious to he ground. – “I knew you could handle yourself.” – Ben said teasingly. You smiled sweetly at him. – “I just electrocuted your sister to the ground.” – you told him getting closer.
“Aren’t you getting revenge?” – you whispered standing as close as possible to him. Ben smirked. – “Would you like me to?” – he spoke back. You shrugged your shoulders. – “Try me Sparrow.” – you teased with a flirty smile. Ben’s gaze lowered to your lips as he briefly licked his. You moved your hand forwards as he grabbed it, quickly spinning you around till you were held against his chest.
He took in a deep breath, moving his head down to your shoulder. – “I could just use my abilities on you.” – he pondered with a chuckle. You cleared your throat drawing his attention to the hand he was still holding upwards of yours. A few sparkles of electricity moving around your fingers. He moved his hand over yours, clearly not bothered by the faint electricity running around it. He stretched your arm out, squinting his eye.
He then removed his hand from on top of yours, whispering shoot in your ear. You released a shot of electricity as it flung across the room, hitting a lightbulb hanging on the wall of the hotel. The lightbulb exploded making Ben smile. You turned your head to the side, glancing up to him. Turning your posture more, you were facing him again. Your heart pounding loudly. It has always beaten for Ben. Whether it be Umbrella Ben or Sparrow Ben.
Ben slowly parted his lips. – “I know you loved this other Ben.” – he whispered to you, moving his palm against your cheek. Hardening his grip as he moved his hand further back to your neck, grabbing you there. – “I think I’m gonna steal you from him.” – his last words ended as he forced his lips onto yours. You completely melted under his kiss, Sparrow Ben all you could think about. How much you hoped Umbrella Ben would forgive you for. Even though he was already long gone.

Chapter 8: Subjugation
Tumblr media
Summary: One of the last truths come to light.
A/N: Think I made Y/N a little harsh on Luther but Luther made me mad during that episode and rewatching it made me mad at him again lol.
Warnings? Click here!
Then
You’ve had a few nights of heartbreak during your time in this house. But nothing hit harder than when Ben broke the news to you.
Luther and Allison’s well known secret was that they were infatuated with each other. You all saw it. They did a terrible job at hiding it.
Luther tried to mask it by pretending to be caring “older” brother but you and Vanya never got the same treatment.
Allison tried to claim it was because she viewed him as a leader or some bs like that but she never treated Diego like that. In fact, whenever Luther was upset with Diego or vice versa, Allison was always Team Luther.
In fact, you all poked fun at them behind their backs. Even though you and Ben had no room to talk. To be honest, you think that’s what ate away at him.
Granted, none of your siblings ever mocked you two. At least not your face. Maybe that’s the thought that plagued Ben. Sure, he had a much better relationship with Diego and Klaus than Luther and Allison did but still.
He didn’t even know if you thought about that. He never thought to ask you. Too afraid of what the answer would be. He never went out of his way to dim your light, for lack of a better phrase.
Reality is: you never thought about it. Well, that’s not true. You did and you approached Allison about it. She was embarrassed but she gave you the words of encouragement and you viewed her as a big sister so you took her words to heart.
It never occurred to you how Ben could’ve been feeling. Only after the night where he asked you to meet him in your special place to tell you that you shouldn’t keep chasing after a romantic relationship.
You couldn’t even be mad at him. Pragmatism was a part of his charm. He didn’t want to be mocked. He didn’t want you to be mocked. He was ashamed of that being his reasoning but you never held it against him…….too much.
You were still hurt. You still cried quietly in your room. You still thought it was unfair that Luther and Allison didn’t have enough apparent shame to stop when you had to.
But you tried seeing the bright side.
After all, you could still talk to him. Hang out with him. Play with him. Joke around with him. Pine for him. Sneak out with him. All of the fun stuff that you normally did with him and the others…..minus the pining.
——✨——
Now
When you all had returned home, you were disappointed to not find Vanya there. While your brothers argued, you ran to the phone to try and get a hold of her.
The long ringing only added to the anxiety that had a hold on you. You sat there with the phone against your ear, praying that you heard Vanya.
And you did. Just not in the way you wanted.
“You’ve reached Vanya Hargreeves, please leave a message and I’ll get back to you.”
BEEEP
“Hey, Vanya…I don’t know if you…if you’re ok but we found Leonard and…I don’t wanna assume the worst, I wanna hope that you’re ok. So please, if you get this, please call.”
Your peripheral caught Five entering the room and heading towards the bar.
“Or please come back home. It’s been too much going on and I would really like if you came home and were ok and we can just salvage what’s left of this family since the apocalypse isn’t an issue anymore……….I love you and Allison is alright, she’s gonna make it. I’m sure she’ll be happy to see you.”
You calmly hung up the phone just in time to pay attention to Five pouring himself a drink.
“Take a breather, Y/N. I’m sure she’ll turn up. Need a drink?”
“I literally cannot drink right now. I mean, how can you? We don’t know who killed Leonard and they could have Vanya or worse.”
“And do you have any leads on who would have gained something from killing Leonard?”
“…outside of us? No.”
“Do you know anywhere else Leonard could’ve taken Vanya?”
“No.”
“Are you mentally prepared with digging holes and potentially finding Vanya’s body in a shallow grave?”
“Jesus Christ, Five, what the fuck?”
Five casually walked over to you with a second glass in his hand. He passed it to you. “My point is: no leads, no actions. Drink.”
You cautiously took the drink, a bit caught off guard by Five’s current casual demeanor. “O…k.”
Five went back over to his stool, soaking in his disappointment next to his….girlfriend, Dolores. The two of you sat in silence for a moment before he spoke up.
“You think we averted the apocalypse, Y/N?”
You were surprised. You haven’t really been with him for most of his escapades concerning the apocalypse until the very end.
“I’m surprised you’re asking for my opinion.”
“Why not? You catch on pretty quickly to most stuff. So?”
“Well….not sure. If you say Harold Jenkins is the cause of the apocalypse and then he goes and dies…maybe that’s the end of that. On the other hand, what if his death was…meant to happen?”
“Meant to happen?”
“Yeah like…maybe the reason they needed Harold protected was because they needed him to die on a certain day. I mean…no other commission guys came to kill us…or you to be specific.”
“So what? Now it’s the calm before the storm?”
“No. It could be the calm before the storm. But it could also not be.”
There was a moment of silence before Five let out a defeated sigh. “Now we wait…” he muttered.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Five got up and went to answer the door. You couldn’t hear much of the conversation outside of hearing the word sister which prompted you to get up and see who was there only to be met with the sight of Five letting in a big man with a suit on.
The suit was familiar but the face was not.
“Who the hell is this, Five?”
Five motioned a finger between you and the man. “Y/N, Hazel. Hazel, Y/N.” And he walked on.
The man—Hazel—offered a polite but nervous smile, leaving you more confused.
“Hi??” You cautiously waved back.
“Last time we met my…ex-partner and I.”
“Shot up the place? Ohhhhhhh…..K.”
You walked into the living room and walked over to Five. Hazel casually followed suit.
“Five, why is he here?”
“I dunno…” Five swiveled around on the seat. “Why are you here, Hazel? Here to kill me?” He gestured in your direction. “And, by extension, my sister?”
“Me?”
“No witnesses.” Five responded casually.
“None of that.” Hazel replied. “I can understand why you might feel that way. There’s not much I can do about the past. I do wanna just mention that it is an honor to be talking to you. That job you did in Calhoun, that shit’s legendary—”
“Why are you here, Hazel?” Five repeated with a firmer tone.
“Well—” Hazel started to talk before you felt yourself being pulled back by Diego and witnessed him launch a kick into Hazel’s side, knocking him over.
“Diego, stop!” Five shouted, only to be ignored when Diego flipped over Hazel and kicked him in the face as the assassin tried to stand.
The two begin to fight each other.
“Diego, that’s enough!” You tried, only to be ignored as well.
Five casually fiddled with his straw. “You know, before you kill him, you might wanna hear what he has to say.”
Once the two were upright, Diego pulled out a knife. “I’m gonna kill you for what you did to Patch.”
“Or don’t. See how that goes.”
You let out a heavy sigh and stood next to Five watching the brutal scrap. Filled with stabs to the thigh, punches square to the face and Diego’s desperate attempts to knock over his bigger opponent.
It would be exciting if this all didn’t feel…exhausting to watch. Especially when you still had Vanya to look for.
Hazel wrapped Diego into a bear hug only for Diego to counter with a harsh bite to his ear, Hazel letting out a painful yell in response.
Five, deciding he had enough, blinked out of sight before appearing behind Diego and smashing a glass over his head, knocking him unconscious.
“I draw the line at biting.” Five stated as Hazel collected himself. “Hazel, whatever you came here to say, I suggest you make it quick…before he comes around.”
“I left my partner, quit the Commission, and came to volunteer.”
“For what?”
“To help stop the apocalypse. I have a vested interest in a doughnut shop.”
“Oh that…” You started. “Yeah, I don’t think that’s happening anymore.”
“What?” Hazel asked in disbelief.
“What she said. You’re a day late and a dollar short.”
“Meaning?”
“Meaning the fact that you’re here right now means, without a shadow of a doubt, that the apocalypse is over.”
“Really? How do you know?”
“The mark…is dead. Found him this morning. You were the last known unknown in the equation.”
Hazel let out a chuckle. “Shit. Really?”
You nodded. “Really.”
“And if you’re out, then Hellrider ain’t riding.”
“Oh…” Hazel let out a relieved but exhausted breath. All of the hype and resolve he built up just…gone but he was happy about that. “Alright!”
He walked over to the bar and took a drink of what was left in the blender. A deep sigh escaped from his body as you went back over to the phone, minding Diego as you did, and waited for a hopeful call from Vanya as Five and Hazel talked.
The only aspect of the conversation that caught your attention was when Five looked back at Diego and then at you.
“I guess I would have grown up to be an emotionally stunted man-child like everyone else around here.”
“I heard that.” You called out. “And I am NOT emotionally stunted, I’ve just got a few issues.”
“Stemming from what Y/N?” Five joked.
“……..shut up.”
“Well, there you go. Now you can grow up.” Hazel suggested before standing up. “Good luck.” Hazel was about to walk out of the room before Five called out to him.
“One more thing before you go.”
“Shoot.”
“Which one of you was the trigger man for Detective Patch?”
“Trigger woman.”
Five sighed. “That’s too bad. That gun would’ve cleared my brother’s name.”
“Well, today’s your lucky day, amigo.” Hazel then pulled two guns out of his back pockets and placed them on the bar. “Take’em both. I’m done with this life.”
The former Commission assassin then walked off out of the house.
“I’m gonna go to my room for a nap.” You spoke, before walking off.
——✨——
You probably would’ve been heartbroken to see the state Vanya was currently in. A shaken and traumatized state as she stared blankly at her violin. The previous events played vividly in her mind.
The way she killed Leonard. It only struck her how excessive it was afterwards. Maybe he deserved, yeah, but Vanya had never done something so…violent……
‘Allison…’ she thought.
All the while her messages played and it felt like mockery from the normal life she has undoubtedly left behind. The life where she was the only one of her siblings to not have powers.
The life where she felt more comfortable slumped in the shadows while everyone else shined. The life that was no more and she never thought she’d yearn for it so much.
She had thought she made peace with it before because she had seen the mental toll it had taken on the rest of you. How you all yearned for your father’s approval in your own ways and it grew into these monsters that held on tightly to all of you like leeches.
As if to make matters worse, the next voicemail was from Allison.
“Hey, Vanya, it’s me. I just wanted to…things have gotten so messed up. All I ever wanted was to be a good sister to you. Guess I pretty much failed at that. But you need to call me, okay? I love you sis.”
The sound of Allison’s next being sliced open by Vanya’s own hands playing on a punishing loop as she remembered the stunned look on her sister’s face, realizing what had happened to her.
The image had done a good job of seeing itself into her mind as Vanya chanted ‘I’m sorry’ over and over again, in a naive attempt to wish she could just turn back time.
“Next message.”
“Hey, Vanya…I don’t know if you…if you’re ok but we found Leonard and…I don’t wanna assume the worst, I wanna hope that you’re ok. So please, if you get this, please call. Or please come back home. It’s been too much going on and I would really like if you came home and were ok and we can just salvage what’s left of this family since the apocalypse isn’t an issue anymore……….I love you and Allison is alright, she’s gonna make it. I’m sure she’ll be happy to see you.”
Vanya looked back at the answering machine. While she didn’t want to admit to herself, a part of her shut down the voice that spoke down to her and replaced it with something else…there was hope.
Hope that she had not been completely excommunicated from her family. Hope that Allison can forgive her. Hope that this could all be casted aside as a bad dream.
Hope that she can come home into warm and welcoming arms.
In a terrible twist of fate, she’ll be both right and wrong.
——✨——
You were awoken from your nap with a rumble. Some trinkets and other decor rattled while others fell to their destruction. Dust being pulled from their corners and fluttering down like snow before everything stopped.
‘What the hell was that?’
You weren’t the only one who realized the mild earthquake was happening as Klaus exited his own room at the same time.
“Glowbug, you felt that too, right?”
“Yeah?”
Klaus let out an exhausted huff. “Something tells me we can’t ignore this.”
——✨——
Neither of you were prepared for the sight of Vanya locked away in a soundproof room under the house. She was in distress and this nagging feeling of Deja Vu coming from you was not helping the situation.
“You locked up our sister because you think she has powers?” Diego was in a state of disbelief.
He’s seen Luther make some stupid decisions but this took the cake.
Klaus had never thought ANY of his siblings would do something…like this.
And you?
Well, you were pissed.
“Luther, this isn’t funny. Let her out of there.”
He gave you a woeful look. “I can’t do that, Y/N.”
“Yes you can! She’s terrified!”
“Pogo told me.”
“And you don’t think he was lying?”
“Why would he lie about something like this?”
“He lied about knowing what happened to dad, clearly nothing’s off the table when it comes to him honoring dad’s fucked up wishes, Luther!”
Diego had surveyed the entire room. “Why would they hide something like this from us?”
“He hid so much from us.” Klaus let out.
“He hid it because he was afraid…of her.”
“Oh, that’s ridiculous.”
“Is it? Dad’s lied about everything else. Why is this so far-fetched?”
“If you’re right, then maybe she’s the one who killed Peabody.”
“And cut Allison’s throat.”
You rolled your eyes as Klaus chimed in. “Whoa, no. Let’s…I just—Sorry, just…let’s go back, all right? This is Vanya we’re talking about. Our sister! The one who always cried when we stepped on ants as kids.”
“Yeah, I know. I know it’s difficult to accept—”
“It’s not difficult to accept, it’s impossible to accept.” Klaus shouted.
“No, he’s right.” Diego backed Klaus up, turning back to Luther. “Look, we can’t keep her locked up without proof.”
Luther was shocked. “Wh-what more proof do you need?”
“Why don’t we just open the door and ask her?” Klaus suggested.
“Thank you!” You walked over to the door but were quickly stopped by Luther when he gently grabbed your arm.
“She’s not going anywhere.”
“No, even if you’re right, she needs our help, and we can’t do that if she’s locked in a cage.”
“Thank you!”
“Yeah, and for all we know, she might be struggling with this new power. I mean, it must be scary—terrifying—really to discover that you can do something that you never thought you could do.”
“Look, if what Pogo told me is even half true, then she is not just a danger to us…”
“If we help her, she’s not gonna be a danger to anyone!” You tried to get through to Luther.
Your eyes looked past Luther and everyone else followed your gaze, seeing Allison walking down the dim hall.
“Allison, what are you doing down here? You should be in bed.”
Allison scribbled on the notepad, “let her go”.
Luther shook his head. “I can’t do that. She hurt you.”
You sent a glare Luther’s way. ‘Is that really what all of this is about?’
Allison flipped to a new page, scribbling again, “my fault”
“I’m sorry but she’s staying put.”
Allison tried walking past him only to be stopped.
“Just until we know what we’re dealing with.”
She tried pushing past him again but she was stopped once more.
When everyone else saw that Luther was adamant about this and not keen on moving for anyone, not even Allison. They gave up. Klaus took hold of you and guided you along.
“Klaus—”
“Come on, we can sneak down here later when he’s not looking.” He whispered.
You glanced back watching Allison grow frustrated with Luther before turning away and walking with Klaus back up.
——✨——
There was heavy tension in the house. Allison wasn’t speaking to Luther, which meant that Luther was prowling around , keeping watch in the halls. He knew that you would try to sneak in whenever he wasn’t looking.
As evident when he caught you red-handed with a tray of food. He stood from your mother’s seat, shaking his head.
“No.”
“What? Is Vanya eating a danger to us all too?”
“I’m trying to protect us.”
“No, you’re trying to protect Allison.”
“I’m trying to protect all of us.”
“No, you’re not and I would appreciate it if you didn’t insult me by implying anything different. You didn’t even bother asking either of them what happened and you couldn’t even respect Allison in her decision.”
“Y/N—”
“Let me ask you something: if anyone else got their throat slit would you have cared this much?”
“Why do you always have to turn everything into an argument? Why do you always make everyone else the bad guy?”
You placed the tray down and pointed an accusing finger at him. “You see, that’s your problem. I don’t need to make you the bad guy. You’re doing a damn good job of it on your own. Dad lied to us about this, you think Vanya knew? Did you even ask her what happened? You know she probably didn’t even mean it. You’re making it worse by keeping her in there.”
“Y/N, what if it had been you? Think about Ben.”
You crossed your arms. “Don’t bring Ben into this.”
“You think if you were in Allison’s shoes, he would’ve been ok with Vanya…being just—”
“Vanya is not a monster. What gives you the right to act like she is?”
You had said those words without really thinking of the possible connotations. One that Luther picked up on as he stood tall.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” He asked.
Maybe in a better state of mind. You would’ve clarified but at the moment, you felt he didn’t deserve that. “You tell me.”
BOOM
The house shook with a fury as a muffled boom caught both of you off guard. You turned to Luther who had a look of terrified realization.
“Oh god…”
At first you thought maybe intruders until the thought hit you. “Vanya.”
