kinda sad to see the bella ramsey slander gang... they made them look younger in the first season so why is it unfathomable that they can make them look older in the second? besides, it doesn't matter if ellie has a baby face, cause her looks aren't integral to the story! i have no doubt in bella's skills as an actor and her ability to convey the emotional turmoil ellie goes through in part two. i understand the disappointment with kaitlyn dever as abby, but are we seriously gonna underestimate bella AGAIN because of their looks? they've proved themself fit for the role repeatedly and i don't doubt they'll be able to nail the darker themes of older ellie.
however, it sucks they're part of a blatantly zionist production. neil yuckmann, the newer cast members, THE GAME ITSELF are all zionist. good talent (bella and pedro) wasted in my opinion. i love tlou and it's always gonna hold a special place in my heart but the pro-israel narrative of part two is disturbing and can disrespectfully fuck itself. please don't hype up season two. neil shitshow already gets enough money as it is.
(DISCLAIMER: this is not an attack to anyone disappointed with the casting for season two, i feel the exact same! i don't agree with the bella slander, though. i still respect all of your opinions, of course.)

Eye of the Storm
Your desk partner leaves his notebook after class, and you’re struck by the beauty of its contents.
This is part 1! Purely build up in this, so not much fluff and no smut.
characters are college age, mattheo riddle x fem!reader, theo nott being a little oblivious, use of y/n, characters are adults, i think that's it
w/c: 627
masterlist part 2 part 3
a/n: was this supposed to be a oneshot? yes. did it turn into a multiple part story? also yes. (Shout out to an irl friend for helping come up with the title!! ily A)
Divination has never been your favorite class. Not because you’re bad at it, you’re actually quite an accomplished student, but because your desk partner was a nuisance.
Mattheo Riddle was the epitome of chaos. And the fact that nobody took Trelawney’s class seriously definitely didn’t help. He wouldn’t even show up half of the time. But when he did, he barely worked. He would just be scribbling in that notebook of his – the one he’s so protective of. “What’s in that notebook? It looks so beat up,” you asked once, leaning forward to get a better look. He immediately snapped the pages shut, “none of your business,” he told you. You haven’t mentioned it since.
But strangely enough, he’s been coming to class pretty consistently this past week. Not like he pays attention, though. And today was no different. His nose was stuck in his notebook, his hand gripping a pencil tight as he scribbled madly. He rarely looked up, but when he did, it was at you.
You brushed it off, however, telling yourself that he's just making sure you're not trying to sneak another peak at whatever it is he's so wrapped up in. Why would he be looking at you anyway? Or maybe you had something in your teeth.
By the time class ended, Mattheo had already rushed out. But strangely enough, he forgot his notebook. That was a first. He usually never goes anywhere without it. So, being the good person you are, you stuffed it in your bag and walked out the door – deciding that you would give it to him when you see him next.
The day passed by, and Mattheo was nowhere to be seen. Classes finally ended, and you strolled the halls looking for the Slytherin. After half an hour of looking, you gave up, deciding to wander the halls aimlessly. However, you were broken out of your reverie when you crashed into someone. You stumbled back, apologizing profusely.
“Shit- sorry,” a deep voice says. It had a hint of an Italian accent – was it Theo?
You looked up, and sure enough, your hunch was right. The tall European stood in front of you, looking down at the books that fell from your bag. Among them was Mattheo’s notebook. And it fell open to a page full of drawings, one of which caught your attention. It was an eye, drawn in exquisite detail. It was beautiful; the shading, delicate pencil strokes, the way he somehow was able to capture such raw emotion in such a little piece of art. It was truly mesmerizing.
You quickly dropped down and began to pick up the books sprawled out on the floor, putting Mattheo’s notebook away first. He never let you see what was inside, so you might as well try not to let Theo look at it any longer.
“Was… that your eye?” Theo asked, startling you. You didn’t even realize it was yours. All you could focus on was the sheer talent radiating from the page. You stood back up, slinging the bag back over your shoulder.
“I don’t know,” you admitted. Deciding to change the subject, you asked, “Anyway, sorry for bumping into you.”
“It’s quite alright, bella. You didn’t get hurt, did you?”
“No, no. I’m perfectly okay. Um… have you seen Mattheo? He left something of his in class,” you questioned.
“Left something in class? Are you sure you’re alright, y/n? The man never attends lectures. You should know that,” he chided, but the look on his face was one of concern.
“Okay, well, forget I said anything,” you blurted. And with that, you hurried away to your dorm, your quick footsteps ringing off the stone floors – a storm of mortification and curiosity warring within you.
This was an extremely short fic, but I hope you enjoyed it!! Let me know what you think! And as always, let me know if you want to be added to the tag list!

May I request the cullens with a reader who sings?
The Cullens with a Singer! Reader
I interpreted this as either a reader who’s in choir/theater for the highschooler Cullens and someone who does like small gigs for money or smthn for the adult Cullens
Thank you for requesting and I hope you enjoy!
Edward:
He loves your voice
He is at every single concert or performance
And he obv brings some flowers too
Loves to play the piano while you sing
He thinks you have the most amazing voice ever
Loves when you sing him to “sleep”
He can’t sleep obviously but he never feels more calm than when he’s laying in your bed and you’re singing
Whenever he hears you humming as you do stuff around the house he has to stop and listen
Alice:
I feel like she’s also probably in choir
And yes she does bully the director into letting you have many solos
And duets with her
She’s already at every concert
But she loves hearing you sing
Genuinely thinks you should go professional
And she might be able to pull a few strings to get you there 😼
She may or may not see a future where you’re on broadway
But that’s for her to know and you to find out
Jasper:
He absolutely loves it
Singing is calming for you
And so when you sing, he picks up on your calm emotions too
Please hum when you’re cuddling with him
Laying on your back, his head on your chest, your hands in his hair, you humming a tune
If he was human he would be out like a light
He loves going to your performances as well
It’s just magical to him
Rosalie:
It’s the perfect background noise
She loves when you hum or sing while she’s working on her car
Better than any radio station she could tune into
She’ll hum along with you occasionally
But mostly she just likes to listen to you
She has some ties here and there
And by that I mean she’s scary
So it’s best not to question anything when your choir instructor suddenly gives you a solo
Emmett:
He hears you humming or singing as you work around the house all the time
He thinks your voice is nice
He is at every concert or performance
And he is in the front row
He always cheers the loudest, no exception
I don't think he would try to push you to make a professional career out of singing
But that's only because he wants to keep your talent for himself :)
Esme:
You had described your gigs as nothing more than a hobby you like to do from time to time
So when she went to one for the first time she wasn't expecting anything amazing
But now she is convinced that you need to go sing in the super bowl or smthn
She thinks you have the most beautiful voice
Like literally perfect
And she loves listening to you sing while she does stuff around the house
She's your #1 fan
Carlisle:
When he's working on finishing up some paperwork at home, he can hear you practicing your singing in your shared room
And he loves it
It helps him focus more on his work
He is at every single one of your gigs btw
He likes to go up to you and pretend to be a fan
"You were incredible tonight! Can I have your autograph?"
He genuinely believes that you will be famous one day
And he's so excited for you
Vampire! Bella:
I get the feeling that she cannot sing at all
She couldn't sing when she was human, she still can't sing now
But she doesn't think anything special of you being in the choir until she goes and watches a performance
She is blown away
You shouldn't be in a highschool choir, you should be on a stage somewhere
And she tells you that
She is your biggest believer
Always tells you how much she loves your voice
And how much she loves you of course

Do you ever wonder how the first draft of the Twilight sequel (forgot the name but yk the one that's only ONE book and is at the national library in D.C. or some shit) deals with the Rigattoni plotline? How do you think it would change in terms of our perspectives of the characters?
i remember reading a Reddit post on this subject years ago (and a famous viral TikTok ig idk). if OP's info is accurate, then it seems as though Forever Dawn had some crucial changes in its plot that think BD would've benefited from
in Forever Dawn, Renee is pregnant, and Bella has some pretty gnarly baby fever. sounds like she frames it as a "sacrifice she's willing to give up." woof
bc Bella & Jake's friendship isn't fleshed out, the pregnancy is told completely through Bella's POV. it's very possible there are moments of reflection re: motherhood, herself, her motives, etc
there are more moments between baby Resensem and Bella. & baby Rensememss stays baby for much longer. perhaps there's some true-blue parenting going on there. who's to say
these are all details i believe would've made the Resenemmemese plotline feel much more natural and consequential in BD
& y'know what? i think many readers would have actually been fine with (dare i say, liked) the Rnenennnenjmnnesmmeseenen plotline had the foundation for it been there and carried out to its fullest. granted, baby plotlines are notoriously loathed as being a marker of bad writing, so i imagine for many there's an inherent bias there. but any idea can be executed well - there lies true talent
Breaking Dawn could have been an incredible, introspective New Adult book about a young woman shifting her identity in a massive, irreversible way. it also could have been a more widescope, fantasy-world tale about a nonviolent resistance bucking the bloodthirty authority system. hell, if it was one of those punch-you-in-the-face-with-literary-brilliance novels, it might've done both. but it did neither. Breaking Dawn didn't seem to want to commit to any grand ideas. all the potential with very little satisfaction. womp womp

1 for the ask game
from: choose violence ask game
1. the character everyone gets wrong
Err... all of them? I'm not even kidding. More on this here.
Bellatrix: fortunately there's been progress in the fandom, but for years everyone loved to describe her as an overly sexualized, crazy, shrieking mindless slave, when she's actually quite the opposite. She is sadistic, but not insane, she's passionate but not irrational (she is the only one who knew Snape was a traitor; to me, it's because of a peculiar mix of rationality and intuition that shows her to be actually quite intelligent). Nothing suggests her being promiscuous in the text and I would actually argue the opposite of her (why would she ever lower herself to sleep with someone who she deems her inferior - so basically everyone -, even just to satisfy mere physical desires? This post, to me, is Bella at her core).
Narcissa: this is canon Narcissa, all of you are perfectly entitled to your soft babygirl headcanons, of course, but then again you are perfectly entitled to be wrong <3 [also, shameless self-promo: x]
The blorboification continues for every single member of the Black family and I hate it so much you have no idea:
Andromeda: somehow described as a soft little girl who loved her mean, mean sisters so much and had to run away? Bitch stood up to seven centuries of tradition, and abandoned her sisters and parents, to marry a boy she had fallen in love with maybe two years prior (we know this based on Tonks' age). Good for her, but as I have said previously, both Narcissa and Andromeda (and Sirius, really) strike me as a bit selfish. The one with the romantic attachment to the idea of her family, the child most like Walburga, is Bellatrix.
But this is nothing, NOTHING, compared to what this fandom does to Regulus and Sirius.
Regulus: canonically a Voldemort fanboy, with newspaper clippings of him everywhere, and a blood supremacist. Sirius says it better than anyone: Reggie is soft. But not in the way the fandom believes, nope. He's just a coward who, much like Draco years later, was super excited to be like Bellatrix (Lucius) until he realized what killing really meant, what fighting a war really was, and most importantly because Voldemort touched him personally (Kreacher, whom he loved). Voldemort was probably a little more deranged than he had been at the beginning of the First War, and someone that had inherited the Black pride/haughtiness probably didn't like being branded like cattle and treated like a slave, on top of everything else.
Sirius: fanon Sirius is basically another character. Canon!Sirius is: tall, canonically incredibly handsome, quite masculine (in an explicit and toxic way, especially as a teenager in the fucking 1970s - the skirt-wearing, feminist one-liners spouting version of Sirius is something I just cannot get behind), a dick, a bit classist ((don't come @ me with your "oh, but what about Moony?!" because a) we don't know Remus' wealth when Lyall and Hope were still alive, we only know he can't get a job as an adult because of his condition and b) Remus is Sirius' exception, in the same way Lily is Snape's when he calls her a Mudblood - everyone else is in his eyes)), brave to the point of recklessness, quite cruel, funny, witty, magically talented, loyal to a fault, extremely charismatic and everything else outlined here. For the same reasons, I'll say Remus too.
Don't even get me started on Severus Snape. Other people have spoken on this better than I could ever. At least here on Tumblr, though, it seems to me that things are getting a little better after years of absolutely bizarre takes. Or maybe I've blocked all of the idiots idk.
Dumbledore. More on this here and maybe I'll outline my ideas better in a future post.
Also: I do not accept any characterization of Evan Rosier, Barty Crouch jr, Reggie, and Rabastan Lestrange as anything less than violent blood supremacists. Yes, they can be nuanced and gay (and only for each other might I add), but these people are the KKK (metaphorically, of course, because I hate comparing real-world tragedies to completely fictional ones, but still).
Lucius: a complete dick, but definitely not abusive. The man couldn't raise a hand to Draco if the Dark Lord threatened to kill him over it.
Speaking of which: my darling Lord Voldemort. Not much to say about him really because I know that some people do write him in a very interesting way (and I am open to interpretations of his character even if they are different from how I see him - and I have a very fucking specific vision of him). The problem is that perhaps three (3) of these people write him with Bellatrix and that saddens me.
Now, I mostly read First Wizarding War stuff or Death Eater stuff so I can't really speak to many other characters, especially in Harry's generation, but anything other than cowardly Draco is not a good Draco characterization to me. Ron is hands-down the best one in the Golden Trio and Ron Weasley bashing is pathetic. Hermione has faults but is ultimately a strong, take-no-bullshit girl and I'll take that over basically any and all female YA protagonists. And Harry is sassiness personified, but with a heart of gold, and oh-so-caring. Which is also why I can't read dark!Harry for the life of me. It just makes me giggle.

The Tearsmith
*Trigger warning for incoming feminist rant*

Ever since Twilight was published, it opened the door for romance writers to create male protagonists who are rude, and low-key horrible to the women they're interested in. I mean... we had Edward out in these streets, pretending Bella stunk to keep her away from him in chemistry class. I wonder how the book would have been different if he had offered up a simple, "Hey, you're not for me-let's just avoid each other."

But I digress.
It opened the door for contemporary romance writers to create meaner and meaner characters: men who act cruel, and bully the women they're interested in. It harkens back to the outdated adage about boys teasing girls they like. Can we just do the future females of the world a favor and kill this myth? All it does is set women up to accept shitty behavior from men, and equate it with love.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but love should never hurt and love should not make you feel bad about yourself.
Read that one more time.
The Tearsmith is a contemporary translation (more on that in a minute) about orphans Nica and Rigel. They've been at an Alabama orphanage most of their lives (Rigel since birth, Nica since age five). At the ripe age of seventeen, a couple shows up at the orphanage to adopt Nica. Rigel dazzles them with his piano skills, and the couple decides to adopt him too. It was almost laughable...these are teenagers, not puppies at a shelter. Most adults aren't like, "Awww, I guess we'll take the surly but talented piano playing teenager as well as the cute and quiet one."
Nica hates this, since Rigel has always been mean to her, and now she's got to live with him. We immediately learn Nica is tenderhearted, tries to save animals, and wears colored Band-Aids on all her fingers. All I could think about the Band-Aids is... GERMS! Omg, the germs on her fingers from those grimy Band-Aids. Rigel is of course dark, handsome, and mysterious. Insert eye-roll.
Nica and Rigel start at their new school, and while Nica is saving a snail, she ends up meeting a student named Lionel. Is there is a less sexy name than Lionel? Find me one. I'll wait. Being a Wisconsin girl, all I can think of is Lionel Dahmer... father to one Jeffrey Dahmer.

It becomes an all-out war between Lionel (shudder) and Rigel, with lots of violence thrown in. Again... love should never hurt. And a man beating up other men who want to be around you is a huge red flag. HUGE RED FLAG.
Of course Nica eventually realizes Rigel is in love with her, and suffers from abandonment issues (he was left at the gate of the orphanage in a box), which is why he's so horrible to her. She allows herself to fall in love with him too, only to eventually find a law textbook that states marriage between adopted siblings in Alabama is considered incest. So, she pulls back from Rigel because once they're adopted, their love will be forbidden. Girl... the incest law is the least of your problem. You live in Alabama and have grimy Band-Aids all over your fingers. Maybe figure that out first.
Nica and Rigel's love story hits a crescendo when Rigel and Lionel get in a fight on a bridge, Nica tries to break it up, and both she and Rigel end up falling off the bridge. They both end up in the hospital, and Rigel is in a coma for a few weeks. Apparently Lionel was so ashamed of his actions he just up and left town. Once Rigel wakes up from his coma, Nica finds out he asked their foster parents to not adopt him, so the incest issue will be off the table. He ends up going BACK TO AN ORPHANAGE, and leaving Nica with the foster parents so she can be adopted. I guess keeping him in foster care was off the table? Then, they live happily ever after.
The worst thing about this book was the translation. It was quite obviously a European book, and the author should have just stuck with Italy for a setting. Alabama seemed like a weird choice, especially since the setting is the only American thing in the book. One character lives in a palace with royal parents, the descriptions of the orphanage are NOT American at all, the weather was described as cold and rainy, and even the food descriptions (Sunday roast and gravy) are European. It was like the author spun a globe and landed on Alabama. The only real research she seemed to do was looking up one obscure adoption law in Alabama.
All and all, this book was a massive miss for me. The love story wasn't tender or sweet, it almost seemed begrudging. Like... "we grew up in an orphanage together, experienced mutual trauma and now we live in the same house. Might as well hook up!"
I need to go back to my 1980's romance books. The men were rugged without being mean, the women were honest about their wants and desires, and the sex was hotter. I see another Jude Deveraux book in my immediate future!
This was a half pepper on the hotness scale. The sex was described in glowing, flowy terms that wasn't the least bit spicy. Your girl wasn't having it. Although for my Italian fans (of which I'm not sure I have any)- there is a Netflix movie you can watch and feel just how Twilight-y this "love" story really is.
Until next time, Feed Me Romance and Tell Me I'm Pretty

Story
Magic Cupcakes
Once upon a time, in the charming town of Marigold, there was a vibrant community centre called Cystralcastle Youth and Community Centre. This centre was known for hosting various events and activities for the residents of Marigold, including dance parties and gatherings.
Ella was a young girl who had a passion for dancing. She loved to move her body to the rhythm of the music, feeling free and alive with every step. However, there was a problem for Ella - it was fasting week at her church, and dancing was not allowed during this time.
One day, the community centre announced a special party where everyone was encouraged to dress up as naughty elves or snowmen. Ella was excited for the event, but she was also conflicted about breaking her fast. Despite her dilemma, she decided to attend the party and have a good time with her friends.
As Ella arrived at the community centre, she was greeted by her friend Friday. Friday had a mischievous glint in her eye as she said, Ella, I know your secret. Confused, Ella asked, What secret? Friday replied, I know you're going to church during fasting week at Cystralcastle Youth and Community Centre.
Ella was taken aback by Friday's revelation. She had never told anyone about her church activities, and she was surprised that Friday knew about it. So what if I'm going to church? It's none of your business, Ella said, trying to brush off the conversation with a laugh.
Friday scoffed, I hate people who believe in God. Most people who go to church are mean-spirited. Ella shook her head and said, Not me. I don't want to hear any negativity in the Marigold community centre. I don't want God people in my dancing space.
Ignoring Friday's disapproval, Ella joined the party and watched as everyone danced in their festive costumes. She couldn't help but notice Bella, a talented dancer on the stage, moving gracefully like a naughty elf. However, Ella's attention was soon diverted to Lavender, an 8-year-old girl who imitated Bella's every move on stage.
As Lavender danced awkwardly, trying to keep up with the older dancers, Ella and Friday burst into uncontrollable laughter. The other adults in the community centre were puzzled by their reaction, but Ella and Friday couldn't stop giggling.
In a whisper, Ella asked Friday, What's in those cupcakes? Friday shrugged, I don't know, but they're all gone. I couldn't resist eating one. Ella sighed, I should be fasting, but I couldn't resist the temptation either. I guess we both have our secrets.
Despite their guilty indulgence in the party food, Ella and Friday couldn't help but enjoy themselves. They danced, laughed, and bonded over their shared love of dance and adventure. As the night drew to a close, Ella realized that sometimes it's okay to break the rules and enjoy the moment, even if it means straying from tradition.
And so, Ella and Friday left the community centre with full hearts and happy memories, knowing that they had shared a special bond that transcended their differences. In the end, they learned that dancing, laughter, and friendship were the true secrets to living a joyful and fulfilled life in the enchanting town of Marigold commity Centre.

Finally for the Nickelodeon live action originals, favorite character from the Nickelodeon live action originals from 2007-15 (the last set you saw before leaving live action Nick): iCarly 2007, True Jackson VP, The Troop, Big Time Rush (where the more cartoonier vibe can be attributed from being created by Scott Fellows, who also helmed Ned's Declassified which was also a cartoon but in live action), Victorious, Bucket & Skinner's Epic Adventures, How to Rock, and Bella and the Bulldogs? And as a bonus, I’ll throw in Fairly OddParents Fairly Odder and iCarly 2021 (which thankfully has no involvement from Dan Schneider this time so there’s a much safer environment for that era of the franchise) due to being based on an older IP (only didn’t mention Sam & Cat since you confirmed you never saw it) despite both being on Paramount Plus instead of Nickelodeon.
Okay so I haven't seen fairly odder. Heard it blows and we're better off with new wish. Also haven't seen how to rock, forgot to omit that one. And I did see sam and cat. So.. be ready for that
ICarly (Original): Spencer. Jerry Trenor is genuinely talented and gets to show it off even more now he's in the main cast of a show instead of a shouty weirdo on the side. I mean he's no less loud, but spencer also gets depth being both a good guardian to carly and a relatable adult as someone who also works in a career with weird hours and dosen't have many irl adult friends.
The show itself is pretty good early on, and was one of the few live action shows I watched reguarly after leaving nick behind rather than just because it happened to be on. Being the succesor to drake and josh with what younger me THOUGHT was less crutely helps. I mean there's way more than I remembered as I found out watching Quinton Reviews massive look at the series, but it's a bit more measured. Except with Sam. But while Sam's cruelty's a bit much the cartoony nature of the series helps me mostly look over it, and the timing is well done with a talented young cast.
And.. yeah like Drake and Josh it's hard to go back to. Not as hard as quinton's long retrospective exists, but Janette McCurdy's book, which I still need to read, was covered in the last part of his look at sam and cat and was so horrifying it took him a while to get that part done. The short version is janette had an abusive overly religoius stage mom that gave her a severe eating disorder and body dismorphia. The book is really good from all I hear and worth buying. Schinder was laso a nightmare on set, implied to be creepy with Janette, and had a lot of creepy weird sexual content in the show. So while the show ITSLEF isn't terrible it's hard to go back to knowing one of it's main stars suffered so horribly. Just to keep this out of the way she went through the same on sam and kat, being denied directing an episode and wasnt happy to be there to begin with.
True Jackson VP: I didn't see this one often, though it was okay.
The Troop: Wish i'd seen this one more as what I saw of it was a solid monster of the week show, mixing ghostbusters with high school angst. Always a good move
Big Time Rush: Carlos. Carlos Pena Vega is a wonderful man, and a great comedic actor. I only saw this one on and off, but I did seek it out and even once got ribbed by my sister when she found out I watched it on amazon prime back when it was on there. And it's for the reason you went out of your way to point out: it's from the same creator of ned's declassified, has the same vibe and thus it's like catnip for me. The quality is kept up, the goofiness ramped up since the new setting means our heroes have less restirctions and not being a teacher their adult figure can shout at them more and call them dogs. It even coined the term swifted. Or if it didn't it told me it exists. It's pure fun. I like ned more for it's slightly deeper cast and nostlagia's sake, but big time was a more than worthy followup with it's own talented cast that thankfully also didn't involve child abuse.
Victorious: It used to be robbie but now i'm not so sure. I do like his actor though who now throws nick themed raves and seems like just.. the most awesome guy. Another one of the quinton reviews trinity and this one I saw more of but never really glommed onto. I like the cast once again and i'm happy most of them are doing pretty well, but I never really got into this one.
Bucket and Skinner's Epic Adventures: Aloe their arch enemy who reminds me of Ben Stiller's roll in heavyweights, and discount ben stiller mixed with lars from the same movie is a good time. This is one I remember mostly just for being so bad it's good to me. It had all the tropes: two idiot heroes, girl one of them's into whose roll is basically just girl, douchey rival, wise mentor, that sorta thing. It's so cliche and stock it wraps around to being hilarious.
Sam and Kat: Goomer. He's the best. I saw a few episodes back in the day, and it was... just not.. good. At all. And given the mess behind the scenes, how thrown together it was it was... yeah. You can tell on screen. This should not have existed and Nick shoudl've known better and i've noticed less spinoffs after this. Danger Force is the only one I can think of and at least seems to wrap up the NSU on a high note.
ICarly2021: Spencer. Again. Forever and always. I haven't seen a ton of this but what I saw I liked, a decent reboot that brigns the series back in style and does it's best to fill the void janette left behind (not that I blame her as her decision was entirley for her own perosnal health and leaving acting was a good thing for her) with new characters and a solid update. I wish it hadn't ended on a cliffhanger and hope someway we get a reunion movie to fix that. Otherwise it seems like a more than worthy addition to the canon and a way for the cast that did return to take ownership of their biggest roles back.

August Reading Recap
In which I finally read some books. 9, in fact. The book I'm writing also got some words added to it, and, gee, wonder if those two things are connected??? Anyway. This month wasn't the fanciest month, but I got those words into me that I very much needed, so, win win.
The Struggle - L. J. Smith Book 2 in The Vampire Diaries. The book which is about vampire... and diaries. But not diaries belonging to vampires. Well, not yet. Beyond that, I still stand by my ships, its fun, 90s YA. Bella Swan wishes she was Elena, girl got it done in two books flat. Either that or Bella needs to take that truck of hers over bridges more often.
(would you look at that, short and sweet. its not gonna hold)
How to ADHD - Jessica McCabe I've watched McCabe's YT channel (How to ADHD) and have found it a great resource. Consequently, I've been looking forward to this book since it was announced. This book will be a valuable resource to a lot of adults with ADHD, and possibly other neurodivergencies. I had the same issue I have with a lot of books in this genre, in that I already know. I'm basically reading these books looking for those little bits of information to fill in the gaps. Fun fact, I've played soccer for nearly two decades, and played baseball/softball for several years. I cannot slide. I've never performed a slide tackle or slid into a base. I've had coaches and try desperately to teach me. I can't. I am missing that piece of information to go from vertical to horizontal. It's not even fear. When I'm reading these books, I think it is that piece of information I'm looking for, and it's probably not going to be there. Anyway, again, useful resource, though if you feel its missing what you need, maybe try Taking Charge of Adult ADHD by Dr Russell Berkley, which is the best book I've found on the topic.
Winter's Orbit - Everina Maxwell A fun queer sci-fi romance that I enjoyed even more so than Ocean's Echo. I did read that her next book is wlw, so I have high hopes for that - WO and OE had very similiar character dynamics. I cannot remember if Maxwell included trigger warnings at the front though, so if you need those sorts of things, maybe check out some reviews first.
A Taste of Gold and Iron - Alexandra Rowland My first successful foray into Rowland's work. If I hadn't been in a desperate need of romances I probably wouldn't have picked it up yet or enjoyed it as much as I did. Still, talented author, talented work and I look forward to coming back to some of her other works when the spirit so takes.
A Marvelous Light - Freya Marske Speaking of the spirit so taking, after dropping the kid off one morning, I turned right instead of left and ended up at the bookstore, purchasing this book. It was a reread, but it is always nice to read a book you own instead of borrowed. Tumblr should know the drill on this book. If you haven't read it, turn right instead of left and find yourself a copy. Marske is probably my favourite Australian author at the moment - she plays with concepts I love and uses language with such glee, talent and precision. I cannot wait for Swordcrossed.
Long Live Evil - Sarah Rees Brennan Okay, so, I needed to go to Woolies. I went to Woolies. Realised if I left the carpark, I would get trapped in the school rush. Went into Big W. Bought this book. Read the first couple of chapters in my car. Drove home. Read most of the book, until I had to go do my tutoring thing.
I HAD TO SPEND 2!! HOURS PART WAY THROUGH THAT CHAPTER!!!
Anyway, Rees Brennan made me doubt my ships were going to be canon (I am typically a very canon-based shipper) and then followed through with a brilliant dynamic. Everyone in this book is brilliant. I was about to start listing characters, only to realise, that would be almost all of them. If you enjoyed In Other Lands, please read this. If you want a fun romp that will also attack your feelings, with a knife, please read this. If you think this looks camp and ridiculous, please read this, you are right and it is amazing.
All the Hidden Paths - Foz Meadows Another queer fantasy romance, this time the sequel to A Strange and Stubborn Endurance, which I read in May. It was a good book, and if you are a regular reader of this sub-genre, you will probably enjoy it. I'm not a regular reader of the sub-genre for a reason. I spent a chunk of time actually waiting for something to physically break the characters to we could start moving forward. I prefer pain over angst, maybe? I don't know. Furthermore, the third POV introduced was not for me, and, for the first time in my life, I just skipped those chapters. As a reader, its important to know your limits and that was hitting on of mine. Gods, I'm sounding like such a downer. I promise this was a good book, I was just not the target audience.
Tidal Creatures - Seanan McGuire Book 3 of McGuire's Alchemical Journeys series. Not my favourite installment (Middlegame my beloved) but a solid, creative book. If you liked Middlegame but found Seasonal Fears lacking (I didn't, but it wasn't the great thing Middlegame was and I know a lot of people felt let down) this book sits between them, I'd say; while the plot isn't the most complex thing, there are clever little ideas you can sink into here. (I did get irrationally mad at a near-throwaway line partway through, but I think that might just be because McGuire and I come from different backgrounds).
All the Hollow of the Sky - Kit Whitfield Kinda sequel to Heart of Hidden Things, which I read in September, last year. Yes, I had to wait that long on my hold. Anyway. I took forever to read, and actually finished it early in the month, but its last because I forgot to write it down. Mostly, the main problem of this book could be resolved by murder, and, look, I understand why it wasn't, but, come on, I really don't think it would have counted. It was a technically skilled book, but, in then end, I just felt tired. Additionally, the kid (whose name I'm blanking on) felt a lot younger than he was meant to be. That said, while Whitfield's backlist does not interest me, there was a reason I waited for this book and I will read her future works if they sound in my wheelhouse.
(By Kinda Sequel, I mean that the book follows the same people, in the events following book 1, but the whole book is arranged in such a different way that it nearly pushes into another genre).

In a superhero au,which power would each DJATS character have?
Wow, cool and tough question! Are we basing their powers on their personalities ? Or just random powers they got cursed/ blessed with?...
Anyways, here I go :
First lets start with..
• Teddy Price has the power of detecting other people talents and / or super powers. Maybe he can read minds too. He is like Eleazar from Twilight (has the same power: detecting other peoples superpowers) , but in personality he IS very much the Xavier from Xmen or Gandalf from LOTR : The wise leader who can see the true Spirit and Hearts of the others.
• Rod Reyes : He has the power of organisation and order, he always can get everything done just in time magically. He always gets everything rightly done. As a manager Its useful
• Graham It's an empath (like Jasper from Twilight or Will Graham from Hannibal ) he can feel other peoples feelings and manipulate them too...Just in Graham's case he can Only calm people and give them peace .... He has like an anti-stress little ball.. Very needed tbh.
• Julia Its able to detect líes and see the truth , also know as intuitive perception , like the guy from the mentalist or even House from Dr House, she always see the patterns and guess correctly and always rightly when someone IS lying, she sees though people, and always calls out bullshit... Which Its very usefull for her as writer and journalist (I headcanon her as both as an Adult).
• Karen's power Its being a runaway , escaping of everything (trouble) and detecting danger, as she is very independent, I think It fits her.
• Lisa's power is being attractive and liked by people, everyone likes her always, everyone does what she needs them to do, they like to see her, her voice...Its like mental manipulation ...Only it isn't voluntary, she doesn't intend it, Its just like that.
• Warrens power Its super strenght and also being chill, because why not?
• Eddie's power Its super fastness, like the Flash, very ironical, because Billy being slower than him, always seems to get everyone and everywhere before him. Ouch.
• Simone's power Its seeing the future, she has visions. She cant control them, and they always become true. They are unavoidable they are like fixed images in stone. She doesnt know if theyre going to happen in 10 minutes or in 10 years, but they are always true. When the visions are tragic It hurts Her. Her vision of Camila's Destiny, as she can't do anything to fix it, It haunts her forever.
• Bernie Its able to manipulate electricity and Air, that way she can control sound waves thus Its a DJ without machines. She can hack into everything . Its cool, both Julia and Bernie together are terrifying , they know everyones secrets and use them for their benefit.
• Camila's power : None, she's just a nice human. Alternatively, her talent Its , pretty much like in canon, just being nurturing and nice. Everyone feels welcome with her and Happy. She exudes good vibes. Its a beautiful power but not very flashy or useful. She is Anti Bad vibes... Cool, but what about what she feels?? No one fixes that :(
• Finally ....Drumroll : Daisy and Billy, the tough ones.
Daisy Jones Its a SHIELD like Bella from Twilight, she survives everything always mostly unscathed, no one can harm her with their powers, she IS immune to other peoples powers. She IS the most powerful. Undestroyable, but tragically ironical she IS always very hurt by peoples non magical actions (her Mom particularly).
Billy Its to me the most complicated, he IS haunted and also angsty, so i think he should have a better reason than fear and his shitty dad, so i made him be a telepath, he reads other peoples minds, both by touching them (Aro from Twilight ) and by hearing them at distance (Edward Cullen from Twilight and Sookie Stackhouse from True Blood) but as he can't stop hearing them ever, except when he IS drugged and drunk as fuck (like Xavier in Xmen Dotfp movie) he IS a mess. Camila makes him fell better, but he can read her thoughts about being jealous, deceived and betrayed by him, Graham makes him peacefull and sleepy, but he IS scared of his addiction and annoyed by his power, and Daisy...Its what he longs for, a bless for him, because she can block his power, thus giving him pleasing needed silence, but she is also a curse because she IS: 1 - forbidden fruit and temptation, 2- a mess just like him if not worse, 3- also never shuts Up around him (except for kisses, again forbidden because he IS like... You know, Married?) thus they argue all the time, so no silence. All that makes him extra angry and angsty...and longing watcher too . Plus 4- they are both idiots in love and... Its ruining their lives ( Taylor Swift Its a Queen❤️ and TTPD is phenomenal)
In the end, everyone and everything keeps being the same and nothing changes at all. Djats keeps being the same, mostly.
What a cool ask!! Thank you so much!!

no bc i see the friend groups fighting over jaemin’s cat now but ikkkk that once they all start getting along and a random stranger takes the cat instead, they’re all gonna unite together and say so much shit to the person and even try to fight them 🤞🏼
(also, yes you’re the best writer 😋 spare some talent please!! 🫴🏼)
also, this is gonna be short todayyy but i hope you know again… thank you for the update 🫶🏼 you’re amazing and amazing and cool and amazing
i loved the new update (AND THE UPDATES BEFORE AND THE UPDATES TO COME 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼)
also “how are you” in Spanish is “como estas?” but, if you’re talking to an adult or someone you’re not close with, it’s important to use “como está usted” so you won’t sound rude (also im sure there are other Spanish speakers so they could back me up too bc my Spanish is more towards Guatemalan Spanish) (a bit spain-ish)
and if someone says “im good how are you” you can say “estoy bien gracias” (im fine thank you)
if you want to ask someone about their day, you can say “y como estaba tu día?” (and how was your day) and for older people “y como estaba el día de usted?” Again, some older people find it disrespectful if you talk to them like they’re your friend
but yeah!! ask me more questions if needed!
- 🫧
(im cleaning my room and bella is napping on the pile of blankets from my bed that i took off. so, im not doing my bed no more 😭)
REAAALLLL like once renjun and jaemin become bffs you best believe no one except renjun is allowed to touch jaemin’s cats!!! TYSM BABY ONCE AGAIN ILY you should tell me about your writing, i remember you said a while ago that you were writing something so how is that going?
languages are so cool i love to learn about the whole honorifics and politeness that comes with different languages, maybe i’m wrong but doesn’t spanish also have like gendered words? like specific terms when you’re talking to men and women specifically? ILL BE USING THAT SECOND ONE SO I SOUND MORE EXPERIENCED 🤭🤭 ughhh this is really making me wanna learn spanish properly i’m so envious i wish i was fluent 😭
LMAOOOO 😭😭 SAY HI TO BELLA FROM ME

Pitch Perfect: Revolution of the musical genre in the film industry
Pitch Perfect is an american musical comedy film directed by Jason Moore, that was released on september, 2012. With a totally talented cast and a very original idea for a musical: The acapella competitions set in american universities. Although the whole trilogy has been very successful in terms of audience, we can deny that the first one is the most iconic out of them all.
It follows the story of Becca (played by the actress Anna Kendrick), a young adult that goes to college to fulfill the dream of her father, but what she really desires is to become a musical producer. She spends most of her time not going to her classes, but listening and mixing songs on her computer. Until an occasional encounter with The Barden Bellas, an all female acapella group and, to not spoil the plot for the ones who haven't seen it, that's how she begins a journey full of music andwhere she will question the priorities of her life.
It may often not be taken seriously because of the fact that it is a comedy and uses mainly pop songs of the early 2000s, but it actually has some really complicated and well produced musical arrangements. It's not only the challenge of coordinating a group of very different voices and ranges, but also the fact that they ONLY use their voices.
The producers shared for an interview that the musical part of the movie was an “extremely stressful process but fun at the same time”. Process that was divided in three stages: first it had to work right in the scene and tell the story, it had to translate to the actors on-camera, and it had to sound good a cappella.
When the audience first heard the concept, most probably the majority reacted just like Becca, and thought “what the hell is a riff off?”. An almost clandestine event where acapella groups have to make a kind of “song chain”, where they are assigned a theme or genre and have to connect it to the previous group choice. This is one of the favorite scenes in the entire franchise for the fans and the mayor responsible for raising the number of songs on the soundtrack to 40.
It's more than obvious that this might not be the type of movie for everyone, not even for everyone that loves musical films. But it is undeniable that it fulfills its purpose: It will entertain you, maybe even make you laugh, and with an excellent mix of catchy songs, it will be impossible for you not to be singing for hours or even days after you see it.

15 Questions for 15 Mutuals
Tagged by @theanimepsychologist, thank you so much! This was fun❤️
Are you named after anyone?
• an entire continent beloved. Why? I have no idea. My mom said she liked the name. Bright side? It means sunrise and resurrection and I literally feel like I’m recreating myself all the time. Also, it’s an iconic name. Bad side? Whenever I got in trouble at school or around town, I couldn’t blame anyone else because no one has the name.
When was the last time you cried?
• Last night after drinking an entire bottle of wine🫠
Do you have kids?
• I’m too immature for children 🥴
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
• Yes, it’s quite literally a personality trait.
What sports do you play/have you played?
•Softball and Lacrosse (which is unheard of in the south lol). I wanted to play soccer but my mom didn’t think I should play contact sports
What’s the first thing you notice about other people?
• Their smile or their eyes
Eye color?
• Dark brown!
Scary movies or happy endings?
• Scary movies. I love horror and thriller movies and enjoy a good twist at the end
Any special talents?
• I’ve survived this far and have survived a lot of crazy stuff. Quite literally a miracle
Where were you born?
• The US, and I’m still here unfortunately 😒
What are your hobbies?
• I’m getting into painting. I like to cook. I like to workout. I love skincare. I like to do my nails and do hair care mask. Making Pinterest boards. Reading (currently in a slump). Trying new restaurants. I’m actually trying to find new hobbies to stick with (I have ADHD🫠) so comment some that you suggest!
Do you have any pets?
•My baby Bella. Love this dog. She’s been with me from being a preteen to approaching my mid twenties ❤️ best doggo
How tall are you?
• 5’3 or 5’4. Every time I go to the doctor they give me a different one but it’s always those 2 lol 😒
Fave subject in school?
• Science, anthropology and psychology. I love the human brain, I loved learning about different cultures and I wanted to be a marine biologist or archaeologist as a child (I think the archaeology part came from watching the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants tho)
Dream job?
• I don’t think I’m adult enough to answer this question lol. I quite literally don’t know.

In your Barty post you mentioned that Bella mentored Barty. Who were the other younger death eaters mentored by?
Yes, indeed.
In my opinion, Voldemort is someone who actually enjoys teaching (only to a select and talented few), especially martial magic and the sort. He teaches Bella, he teaches Snape. The difference between them is that I headcanon Bellatrix as an actual pupil/magic apprentice of his, while Severus is someone he taught some things to, but not in the same capacity.
This is also because he most likely met Bella in the beginning of the 1970s and Severus in 1978, when the war was in full swing and he probably had much less time on his hands. What he did have were incredible fighters. In my headcanons, Evan is older than Bellatrix (who is something like nine years older than Severus/Sirius etc. in canon).
So the new recruits were trained by the old(er) guard. I my mind they have collective training sessions but assigned specific sparring partners.
I like to headcanon that Voldemort wouldn't let Bella train Regulus because he was afraid she'd go too easy on him. Also, he always underestimated Regulus; in those years he had some brilliant people joining his ranks: Snape (who invented spells), Barty, Mulciber (canon prodigy with the Imperius curse), etc. Regulus was quieter, more shy, a little more stuck up. He had nothing (neither background nor inclinations) in common with him, and therefore tended to undervalue him a little. He most likely wanted Bella training the most promising in his opinion (Barty, esp since Bellatrix hated Snape since the beginning, in my mind - and would go too hard on him).
Then, Evan is an incredible duellist, so he is somewhat of a jolly. Rodolphus is quite good too in my mind, and Rabastan can hold his own. So one of them was always up against Regulus (a little prodigy with the Imperius curse... not so much with the other two, and not as good a duellist as Sirius). I like the idea of Evan sparring with Severus and teaching him a bit of finesse in his duelling (from the twitchy, wrathful, rough style he has in his fifth year to his suave as an adult). I also like the idea of Rodolphus (who fights rough, in a very martial, rigorous way) being chastised by his wife because that's my baby cousin you dick!
Rabastan and Reggie were fucking but idk if Voldemort knew (he probably did let's be real), so maybe they wouldn't train together? But Rab is a cunt, so he probably wouldn't go easy on Reggie...
Lucius probably taught Mulciber all about the Imperius.
Much to Bella's chagrin, Severus received private one-on-ones with Voldemort (although of a different nature with respect to hers...)
