Kang's Trust Issues
All roads lead to my wild ass theory
Kang's dad told him that dogs must be punished to be controlled.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both times Sailom has unknowingly approached the subject of Kang's dad, it has allowed Kang to be honest about his failing relationship with his father.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yet Kang immediately stops himself and deflects.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Almost as if he was trained to belittle what he is saying, so someone else doesn't have to.
Tumblr media
Because Kang's dad trained him to not trust himself.
Tumblr media
And Sailom has fed into that.
Tumblr media
Kang doesn't believe in anything, so Sailom gave him something to believe in - Sailom himself, but with that, Sailom also gave Kang someone he could trust since he can't trust himself.
Tumblr media
So even though Kang is going about his relationship with his tutor in the queerest and most dominant way possible, he doesn't believe they are friends, so he wouldn't even be able to imagine he loves Sailom.
Tumblr media
Because what Kang's dad really trained him to do was to lie to himself.
Tumblr media
But he knows he can trust Sailom.
Tumblr media
Because Sailom never lies.
Tumblr media
And Sailom only acknowledges Kang when he is being honest.
Tumblr media
Sailom has never eaten expensive steak. Sailom has never played with VR. Sailom likes free shit. Sailom got Kang's birthday cake from Kang's own fridge. Sailom was at that restaurant with a client. Sailom gets beaten up by debt collectors. Sailom told Kanghan all of this without hesitation. He never lies to Kanghan.
Tumblr media
So how would Kang react if he thinks Sailom is lying to him?
Tumblr media
Like . . . hypothetically helping his brother plan to rob Kang's house while he is out with Kang?
Tumblr media
Especially if Kang, a boy who can't trust himself, trusts Sailom completely and starts to trust his feelings for him. How would a boy who has been tamed like a dog react?
Tumblr media
And now it makes sense why Kang is not a boy of words, thoughts, or feelings, but actions. Kang has trust issues with himself. This is why he likes Sailom's approval because unlike his father who spins his desires into a negative (you don't want to do it), Sailom makes him feel positive (you can do it).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But it also shows why Kanghan's reactions are so out-of-control with Sailom (aggressive) compared to his reactions with his father (passive). With his dad, if Kang doesn't have options, he doesn't have to think, and if Kang doesn't think for himself, he can't act. But with Sailom . . .
Tumblr media
Kang's trust in his father is based on control. His father made a deal with him only to break it. His father got Kang a motorcycle that he picked out for him. His father expects Kang to take over the family business. His father isn't controlling, but he doesn't need to be when he is already in control of Kang's future unlike Sailom who puts no pressure on Kang to pass his tests even though his job depended on it. Sailom trusts Kang will make the best decision for himself. Just like with his brother, Sailom has faith Kang will do the right thing.
Tumblr media
So, once again, when Saifah breaks into Kang's house, will Kang trust the boy who never lies to him? Will Kang trust his tutor who demands honesty of him? Will Kang trust the friend who keeps his promises? And, more importantly, will Kang trust himself enough to know that he is more than dollar signs to Sailom?
Tumblr media
Or will he lie to himself like he was trained to do?
Tumblr media
Blue Boys are known for their honesty and trustworthiness.
Tumblr media
So I have faith that he'll know the truth in his heart.
Tumblr media
Don't disappoint me, kid.

Oh. OH.
LISTEN, Y'ALL. I don't even know if this initial offer by Grandma for Sailom to tutor Kanghan is even really about tutoring Kanghan.
Because when she handed Sailom her business card and said "Call me if you change your mind" ...
right in front of Kanghan's salad
That put Kanghan ON NOTICE that Sailom has a direct line to her and could contact her at any point if Kanghan is being a fucking asshole again.
That is a leash on Kanghan, as much as, if not more than, a genuine offer of paying for tutoring services.
ETA: HOLY SHIT, Kanghan, you don't even realize that's what she did. Wow. Stupid babies really do need the most love.

Sailom is a steady wind that came through Kanghan's door. gentle yet strong. he had proved that he was unfazed by Kanghan but how about his actual feeling towards him? with that much of Sailom's background story had been shown to us, I can be pretty sure he had faced enough bullshit in his life to which Kanghan's threats might not be even compared to. Sailom knows how to stand for himself. he knows exactly how the mind of the people who wanted to manipulate him works. he's trusting but by default vigilant at the same time. if, let's say, he's to fall first (for Kanghan), and perhaps, also to love the other harder, he'll come to that feeling fully conscious, and never to go easy on him, nonetheless. he'll be fully aware of the changes in his heart and knowing well exactly when he needs to hold on while never leave Kanghan's side.

What should we call it now?
If were not enemies, do you think we can be friends?
Sailom started escorting in episode four of Dangerous Romance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And it already caused some tension between the boys.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But just like his fellow Slut for Christ, Only Friends' Ray, Kanghan can and will throw money at any and all issues. Sailom won't directly accept money, so Kanghan arranges an alternative - hiring Sailom again AND forcing him to live with Kanghan.
Tumblr media
And this IS an issue. (all I'm seeing is red & blue)
Tumblr media
Kanghan doesn't like the idea of Sailom having to eat with rich clients for money.
Tumblr media
Or talking with clients over the glow of candlelight.
Tumblr media
Probably because it scares him to think that the client will ask for more from Sailom than just the job he was hired to do.
Tumblr media
Because if this is about money, Kanghan has it.
Tumblr media
Sailom escorting sooner in the show, makes me confident that Kanghan will be even more pissed when Sailom goes back to it.
Tumblr media
And Sailom would go back to it if he doesn't have another client buying up his time.
Tumblr media
Without tutoring, the boys did not talk to each other, and Kanghan was in his feelings about it.
Tumblr media
Instead of sparking a friendship with Sailom after tutoring had ended, Kanghan made their relationship transactional once again, which would seem really nice sense he knows Sailom needs money, BUT . . .
Tumblr media
Kanghan never attempted to be friends with Sailom. Kanghan, who plays soccer, signed up for logistics rather than sports, so he could possibly work with Sailom at school. Why the ritual when he could just be friends with Sailom? Because even if Kanghan wants to be friends with Sailom, he doesn't treat him like a friend.
Tumblr media
I think Kanghan likes Pimfah, but this quick exchange is interesting when applied to their dynamic:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kanghan was taken aback by Pimfah's statement (because he thought she was trying to define their relationship, possibly), but this question has come up before and was directly about Sailom and Kanghan. But in the style of Bad Buddy, what are Sailom and Kanghan?
Tumblr media
They aren't enemies anymore, but they aren't friends. Kanghan wants to take care of Sailom, pay for fancy meals for him, spend time with him, eat snacks with him, and live with him, but they aren't boyfriends.
Tumblr media
So what are they now?
Sailom called Kanghan his friend,
Tumblr media
but for Kanghan?
Tumblr media
Pimfah originally asked Sailom for tutoring, so he would have gotten money (if this were just about money), but Kanghan eliminated that funding source just like he did with Sailom's other tutoring clients in episode two.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because Kanghan's isn't just buying a service from Sailom (tutoring); he is buying Sailom by forcing him to move in, and playfully asking him to feed him and massage his back. And both Name and Kanghan mention this type of job being "easy"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Sailom is good company for a client.
Tumblr media
Kanghan didn't give Sailom any other option but to keep him company.
Tumblr media
Kanghan isn't Sailom's friend. He doesn't want to be Sailom's friend. He is a client, and until Kanghan changes his mentality, he is going to continue thinking that his money has power over Sailom. But without his money, what use does Sailom have with him?
None.
And that's what scares him.

Kang was honest with his grandma about how his dad’s behavior makes him feel like his dad doesn’t think he can achieve anything, and instead of talking to the dad about this situation, so the dad can make it right, grandma instead forced the kid whose scholarship she controls to move in with his former bully, so his former bully can prove to his dad that he can get into uni. We know Sailom is already falling for Kang, but grandma can’t know that. This can’t have been her real first thought. She’s gotta see that Kang is the one in love and definitely gonna blow it if left to his own devices, so she’s trying to set them up, right? Otherwise, grandma, please 😂
