I wonder how much you could do with the fact that Nightcloud was a former coup member and ended up having kits with Onestar's nephew and what kind of drama that could've caused if she were even half the character people made her out to be
canon Nightcloud is a fascinating and infuriating case study on how a she-cat in this series can canonically do nothing, be absolutely blameless, and then still be blamed by both the books and the readers. (Yes, even with CT, let's not forget that OOTS & the field guides peddled that Nightcloud was responsible for Breezepelt's actions for a good while).
So I can't even imagine the shit storm of discourse that would have happened if Nightcloud was anywhere near what people remember her as. A feisty, short-tempered she-cat who loves those close to her fiercely and will fight for them without a second thought? Mwah, where is she. I'd honestly love to know more about her and why she supported Mudclaw, books make her lean more into Clan tradition with further arcs (most notably in OOTS, where I must emphasize, that is where Crowfeather blames her and the reader is meant to agree with him. It feels very intentional they made her more aggressive and xenophobic to supplement his words). I also just like "my son can do no wrong" fanon version of Nightcloud, characters like that are funny to me.
#deer rambles#*gestures at beesnap* as u can see i salvaged fanon and canon nightcloud for parts to make my own Not So Great But Funny Mom character

need to be rich not because i want a stable life but so i can commission my dream piece of five anthro royal portrait style pieces of art of the owlstar family from hht like owlstar, beesnap, and dusksong -> the three but with young frostpaw and honeypaw -> an unfinished sketch of honeypaw and frostpaw as young teens, unfinished due to honeypaw's sudden death -> portrait of owlstar and frostblaze, now a young adult and in line for the throne -> royal portrait of froststar, baring new scars and a sombre expression
each piece would be credited under in-universe names for each artist who drew them

i've been iffy on my isekai story for a bit and kind of want to redo it all over again so i guess a handful of ideas that may or may not stay:
the big angel cat is nicknamed "archangel" for the sake of scripting simplicity. they were going to be one of the bigger bads that tried to preserve cosmic order (and also ate failed guides)
frost was a real estate agent who got pushed off a bridge
splash was a nurse and i went back and forth on her death. my original concept for her death seemed a bit dark for such a silly project
maggie was a child who died in a housefire. she remembers very little about being human and she's the one who becomes the most radically altered
at some point beesnap comes to the conclusion there's something wrong with her daughter and flat out lures into a trap to try to kill her (i scripted this one!)
frostblaze and honeypaw actually talk shit out with frostblaze coming to the conclusion she can't forgive her sister (which would be a change from the source material, where frostblaze forgives her late sister because she never processed she didn't actually deserve her treatment)
there's eventually a realization honeypaw can forcibly take back her body, very briefly, before the injuries of their death will come back. she would do this during what's meant to be honey's death after finding out that owlstar was planning on quietly asking beesnap and her to leave wolfclan after frostblaze was named warrior and therefore a suitable heir to being deputy. this one i'm iffy on still.
uyuhhh yeagh

batch 1 of background characters from wolfclan!
more info on each of them under the cut:
Gullscreech is an outspoken and short-tempered tom cat. He's aggressive towards outsiders and touts WolfClan as the superior cat group in their forest. His attitude, which is written as a display of his "loyalty" to his Clan, becomes a major source of antagonism towards Honeypaw and Beesnap - cats he views as blights on the Clan. His main inspirations are Gullswoop, Mousefur, and Thornclaw.
Hornettail is a slimy weasel of a cat. He's got the moral backbone of an eclair and tends to slink after anyone he thinks will help him stay on top. He's quick to switch to the side of whoever he believes has the cards in a situation and often tries to play lackey sidekick to stay on their good side. His biggest inspiration is Darkstripe, but he's also a play on cats who will say one thing and then switch to another in books.
Loonsnarl is WolfClan's medic and the uncle of Owlstar and the grand uncle of both Honeypaw and Frostblaze. He is a short-tempered and snappy cat who believes firmly in letting fate run its course. He will carry out the wishes of StarClan without question and insists on others doing the same. His main inspirations are Goosefeather, Yellowfang, and StarClan!Spottedleaf.

Honey's Horrible No Good Time in Warriors - A Masterlist
-(Previously named wc isekai au, now just HHT/Honey's Horrible Time for short)
Last Updated: 2023-09-07
Honey's Horrible Time is a warrior cats inspired story inspired by the isekai genre: stories in which someone dies and is reincarnated into another world. This post is to help wrangle all my posts as tumblr tags are rather inconsistent in trying to manage everything.
The story revolves around the death of a human after being hit by a car and is reincarnated into a fake Warriors arc. She is sent into the body of Honeypaw, the half-sister and bully of the arc's protagonist, Frostblaze. With the spirit of Honeypaw and a strange "Guide" from StarClan accompanying her, the former human-turned-cat, who names her Honey, must figure out how to navigate this new world...and survive her impending death.
Some key information:
Not all information will be explicitly told. Some of it will be told through puzzles or can be extrapolated through other information.
This is a work in progress! Plot points are subject to change and the story is still being developed.
There won't be any official comic or story written. I'll do mini comics and maybe some short stories but there are no plans to make it an official thang as of now.
All posts will be tagged under #honey's horrible time now

I know you haven't posted a profile leader of the isekai girls' clan yet, and if you don't have all the details for them ironed out yet (besides Honeypaw and Frostblaze both being the leaders kits) that's all good. But while looking at your latest post about the au, it got me thinking: how do you think the leader feels about 'Honeypaw''s sudden personality change, unnatural (because they're human moves) new fighting style, and tendency to walk on her hind legs? Because I'd imagine even if they weren't particularly close before Honey replaced her, it'd definitely be eyebrow raising to someone who knew her beforehand.
i'll definitely be putting the parents on my to-do list since I have thought of them, mainly because my inspiration is a mix of things that made go oooh yes or pissed me off so badly i stole them JUST to tear them apart in this lol
Honeypaw's relationship with her father, Owlstar, is strained. His relationship with her mother is purely political: he wants an heir, she wanted to join their Clan. In the books (from Frostblaze's perspective), he's written as an aloof but noble cat who can be stern but only because he cares. In the "real" world of the book...he's a standoffish, absent father who cares little about Honeypaw (due to her lack of resemblance to him) and often speaks of his disappointment (despite him having little presence in her life to guide her).
When the real Honeypaw is killed, he is sad and he does grieve...but doesn't stay for the ceremony. When she does come, he's happy! He welcomes her, nuzzles her in greeting, and visits her in the medic's den as she recovers...but it's also stilted, awkward, and suffocating for them both. He says very little and sometimes scolds her for her recklessness (and while in the book this is passed off as him "caring but struggling show it", in practice...it just comes off as apathy to Honey & Honeypaw).
I'd imagine her first few moons of weirdness is him passing it off as a cry for attention until it continues...and not only does she no longer seek his approval, she actively avoids him. Honey would realize his and Honeypaw's relationship is strained pretty early on and, to keep Honeypaw from being in a bad mood and also to avoid having her own father scold her (her body more than her soul), basically stays out of his way.
I can't imagine he'd investigate too much, he's more preoccupied with his successful heir (even if he can't reveal her yet). It's only when Honeypaw continues to poke around, find out more secrets than she's supposed to that he begins to really question what's going on.
Honeypaw's mother, Beesnap, is also different than in her story form. In the book, she's written as a volatile, self-absorbed mother who defends Honeypaw with her fierce temper no matter what her daughter does. When Honey actually meets her? Beesnap is a rogue-born she-cat and her status as truly a member of the Clan is always being questioned. As a result of being isolated and demeaned, she put on a facade of confidence and snootiness, intent on not letting them get to her. When Honeykit was born, her only daughter, she vowed to make sure her child had a better life in the Clan than she'd be given - resulting in her fierce outbursts to defend her child. Owlstar is absent in Honeypaw's life and that only made Beesnap more focused on protecting her.
Beesnap knows something's going on with her kid but doesn't confront her for some reason. She becomes a cat that Honey goes to advice to often when Splashpaw is busy. Eventually I think Honey does try to reveal the truth...but Beesnap probably doesn't take the fact that her beloved daughter's been body snatched very well.
Her unnatural behavior does freak them both out, Beesnap keeps having to whisper for her daughter to stOP WALKING LIKE THAT EVERYONE IS STARING AT YOU-
ty for asking!! i kind of went off topic but your question got me thinking so i ended up rambling lol both of these guys are mainly inspired from how wc and these specific webcomics treat parents and i think that shows
#honey's horrible time#warrior cats#wc isekai au#deer rambles#see worst trope ever is the absent dad who actually cares#because these stories LOOOVVEEE that trope#and it's almost always framed as tho “the previous body was so awful even her dad couldnt love her”#<- like stfu if he wanted to be disappointed in her he COULD'VE TRIED TO BE A DAD FIRST AND FOREMOST#and the mothers almost always get the short end#so many portray them as abusive gold diggers like holy shiiiitt#it's a side effect of having noble blood = super special rare powers#which is always shitty and bad and awful and i hope that trope diieeesss#like even when the villainess comics do this#they always end up looking to the “oh the villainness actually does have super special powers because she's got the ~special blood~”#like i'll maim you i'll maim you i hate it

For your isekai story, does Owlstar give Frostblaze preferential treatment because she looks like him whereas Honeypaw took after her mother? I feel like mans is a bit vain. What is his relationship with Beesnap if any?
I have devoured all your content for this story its very fun!!
Aaahh I'm so glad you like it!! i'm having a blast working out details in my spare time, i think i'm finally nailing down the Clans (i think i'm gonna go with animal based names just because fe3h/got inspo) :3
Frostblaze is actually one of Owlstar's bio daughters! They live in a Clan where kins take priority in leadership (their Clan functions more akin to a kingdom) and Owlstar wanted to keep his options open in children. This resulted in him siring a child with the only available queen at the time, Dusksong, and taking in Bee, a wily rogue who had been wanting to join for a while under the conditions she'd carry for him. His relationship with Bee, who was renamed Beesnap upon joining, is purely for their own benefit: Beesnap wanted in the Clan, Owlstar wanted heirs (should add it was one of the many ways she could "earn" a spot in the Clan, she agreed to be a surrogate). They're not fond of one another and with the way Owlstar ignores Honeypaw afterwards, she's especially not pleased with his fatherhood skills (she became very fond of her itty bitty baby who looked just like her mama in thosefirst few months, she is very much still Honeypaw's mother regardless of her relationship with Owlstar).
Fuzzy on the details, but i'm thinking the original plan was to keep him being the father a secret until Warriorhood to quietly assess them for leadership potential. Beesnap let it leak and Honeypaw, unaware of her sibling, assumed she'd be a shoe in for the position. Quietly, Owlstar took interest in his other heir instead as, in the book, she showed more "leadership potential" than her half-sister. He definitely shows more bias to Frost since she looks like him, that definitely plays a part. It's a very messy affair and has a few issues but it's what I got for now! Hoping to flesh out the Clans of this universe more!
#warrior cats#wc isekai au#deer rambles#i'm tempted to just go full swing into this being an entirely other “rip off series”#but it would require more fine tuning#im thinking wolfclan eagleclan sturgeonclan annnddd uhh blanking on the third one#might go with three since it's got a nice balance: earth air and water#honey's horrible time

okay, sorry but i think i have found my fave from ur isekai au and i have to know: does beesnap immediately take one look at honey and go "who are you and what the fuck did you do to my daughter?" or does the relief of having who she believes is "honeypaw" cloud her judgement for a bit?
i am so glad you like beesnap because she has been my favorite to conceptualize >:3c mean mother enjoyers rise up
At the beginning they think it's shock and trauma. Like, they thought Honeypaw was dead dead, her body was being dragged by the elders for burial before she suddenly started spasming and woke up. For the next while, both Beesnap and Owlstar attribute it to the shock of temporarily being dead. At first they expect the behavior to go away and Beesnap tries to support her daughter (and tell everyone gossiping about the behavior to shut the fuck up and mind their own business) but eventually the signs do start to point that something's wrong...and Beesnap does suspect that there is something else going on. Honeypaw doesn't laugh at the jokes she used to and keeps?? standing on two legs to walk??? (to which she quietly hisses for her to fucking stop that everyone is staring)
She eventually does put the pieces together and is furious that something would ever take her daughter's body. I'd imagine she'd be torn into wanting to beat the shit out of this goddamn imposter versus never ever wanting to lay a paw on her only child. So a mix of both?
#warrior cats#wc isekai au#deer rambles#I'M SO GLAD U LIKE HER#i'm glad other ppl like her because as i mentioned she has been a blast to think about#honey's horrible time

my favorite part of conceptualizing Beesnap and Honeypaw is that both of them love the illusion that Honeypaw's death brings. Beesnap can always imagine her daughter, the one who never challenged her, who lived to make her happy, and who would've been something great had she survived and Honeypaw would see her mother's anger, her rage, the way she lashes out at everyone and uses love to disguise it. her mother's anger is love, and because she died, she never has to confront the truth behind it.
#deer rambles#honey's horrible time#me starting: tee-hee silly isekai au#me now: i need to give honeypaw more issues

Frostblaze’s Destiny - Summaries + Key Events for the Arc
Fake summaries of the six book arc that Honey is reincarnated into. These are all subject to change and are just mean to help give me and others a rough understanding of what’s going on in the actual books.
(Book One) The Awakening - Frostkit is born into WolfClan where she must work hard to prove herself as a potential leader for her beloved Clan. However, she must first face threats outside of her Clan…and within.
Key Events
Frostpaw and Honeypaw’s rivalry is introduced. Honeypaw is set up as a minor antagonist, playing the role as her main tormentor in the Clan.
Establish the younger cast of WolfClan as well as the leadership system.
Foreshadows the ‘rogues’ presence.
Begins Frostpaw’s vague dreams.
Set up of Owlstar’s preferential treatment of Frost
Ends with the camp being attacked and Frostpaw defending the nursery, earning her warrior name at the end. Harefoot is killed in this battle.
(Book Two) Shattered Dreams - Frostblaze has moved onto a new challenge: navigating being made a freshly made warrior. However, WolfClan faces a new threat as HawkClan begins to move in for new territory, forcing Frostblaze to question her new friendship.
Introduces the older cast of the Clan.
Eaglepaw and Frostblaze strike up a friendship at a gathering.
Honeypaw begins to play a more actively antagonistic role in front of other cats and loses the respect of her clanmates and friends.
Sheeppaw and Elkpaw begin to distance themselves from her.
Dawnstep’s relationship with a SturgeonClan cat is hinted at.
More foreshadowing of ‘rogues’.
Honeypaw overhears something she shouldn’t.
The book ends with a vicious battle between WolfClan and HawkClan. Honeypaw uses it as a chance to isolate Frostblaze and attempt to kill her, nearly succeeding before Eaglepaw intervenes and both him and Frostblaze work to drive off Honeypaw. She is eventually killed by Eaglepaw after refusing to retreat.
(Book Three) Lingering Shadows - Suspicion is cast onto Frostblaze after Honeypaw’s death, Beesnap at the helm of it all. However, Frostblaze begins to realize there’s more to the Clans than it seems and seeks to uncover the dark truth that’s been hidden.
Beesnap begins taking on a more antagonistic role, now more threatening to Frostblaze.
HawkClan is now an antagonistic group to WolfClan. Many border spats between the two.
Elkpaw and Sheeppaw are named warriors: Elkrunner and Sheeptail. They begin to warm up to Frostblaze and begin courting each other.
Eaglepaw is named Eagleheart, he and Frostblaze are still meeting each other from time to time. They meet at an abandoned cabin and its overgrown garden.
Antpaw is apprenticed to Frostblaze and is presented as a bit of a nervous but kindly apprentice.
Frostblaze begins questioning her role as a future leader and even as a member of WolfClan.
She also begins having dreams of a past where four Clans once existed and starts going to other Clan’s territories to follow the clues her dreams have left her.
She begins to wonder if she should leave entirely.
WolfClan is attacked while she is gone looking for clues and Frostblaze is berated for being absent. In the night, she decides to leave her Clan to find the truth…and wonders if she should even return.
(Book Four) The Forgotten Clan - Frostblaze has journeyed out beyond the Clan’s lush forests. However, she is not alone. With both allies and enemies lurking about, Frostblaze must decide where her loyalties truly lie.
A travel book lol
Antpaw has followed Frostblaze and in turn, Eagleheart, Sheeptail, and Elkrunner followed him. The group tries to convince Frostblaze to come back to no avail and eventually decide to go with her.
She explains her dreams and all the clues she’s found alluding to a secret fourth clan that’s been erased from Clan history.
They eventually track the clues down to a tunnel system with signs of life. Eventually they find the source of the ‘rogues’: a Clan that thrives underground and has dubbed themselves MaggotClan after the creatures that thrive in death.
Frostblaze meets their leader, Maggotstar, a terrifying furless cat who carried a bear tooth as a weapon. She tries to learn more but finds the MaggotClan cats are angry, and grow even more hostile when they realize who they are.
They narrowly escape with their lives, hurrying back to their own territory where it’s revealed Beesnap has been feeding them information about when the camp is most vulnerable.
They return to WolfClan where HawkClan is attacking, only for MaggotClan to attack as well.
Batears is killed in the battle and Antpaw is named a warrior for his loyalty, now dubbed Antbite.
Seeing Frostblaze’s skills in battle, Owlstar names her the new deputy.
Eagleheart, disgusted at his Clan’s violence, chooses to join Frostblaze’s Clan.
(Book Five) Shattered Alliances - Frostblaze is now grappling with the truth of the Clans and Clanmates she thought she could trust. Now managing her new responsibilities as deputy and budding feelings with Eagleheart, she must try to convince the Clans to work together against this new threat.
Owlstar reveals that MaggotClan used to be called MoleClan. They were known for their exceptional digging ability. However, a horrible storm caused their territory and camp to flood. The other Clans refused to help and they were cast away, their existence now being a secret only Medics and Leaders were privy to.
Frostblaze is furious at this revelation and refuses to speak to her father.
Throughout the book, she faces challenges from her Clanmates to prove herself as a deputy despite her age.
Eagleheart begins pressuring Frostblaze into becoming mates with him.
Beesnap’s betrayal is revealed and she is exiled, having acted out of revenge for her killed daughter. The book would note how unsympathetic Owlstar is to her.
This one needs more meat to it otherwise. A bit more brainstorming needed to build up to the final book.
It ends with another fight with HawkClan where Owlstar gives up one of his lives for Frostblaze and she realizes that he is still her Good and Noble father.
Eagleheart gets his Clanmates to drive out their old leader and MaggotClan reveals themselves to the Clan.
(Book Six) Frostblaze’s Destiny - All enemies are out of the shadows and Frostblaze must take on a greater role than she could have ever imagined. With her friends and family by her side, she must finally confront the festering rot within the Clans…or be lost to it forever.
The big finale, let’s rattle it off!
The Clans are divided but eventually work together because they all believe in God StarClan.
Eagleheart and Frostblaze become mates, her chapters would be resigned and sad despite how the narrative presents it as a good thing.
Few more deaths sprinkled in. Beesnap is notably killed by Owlstar in their confrontation, screaming about how he killed their daughter and how she knows what his plans were for them. Owlstar kills her before the reader can understand what she’s saying.
There’s a BIG first skirmish between all four Clans in the middle of the book and Frostblaze is nearly killed. Owlstar dragged her to the moon-whatever I decide is this world’s starclan thing - and gives up his lives for her. It’s his big sacrifice.
She becomes leader, names Eagleheart her deputy, and rallies the Clans to fight. She loses a life against Maggotstar but using the power of StarClan, beats her and helps the Clan emerge victorious.
Cue nine other arcs revolving around her protagonist babies and grandbabies
Problems so far with this structure:
SturgeonClan plays a very limited role. More minor plot lines to flesh them out.
While intended to be Frost focused, more work can be done to flesh out background characters.
Owlstar needs to be workshopped more.
Some of the plot points riff on canon material too much. Need to be adjusted to avoid being a TPB retelling.
And probably more on a reread but for now! Here’s the barebones skeleton structure!

Now that you’ve opened the floodgates I’m going to hit you with so many questions about the Isekai Au.
Does Beesnap ever come to terms with Honeypaw’s body being snatched? Or tell Honey about it? Imagining Honey being like a translator where they repeat what each party says to eachother but instead of translating a language they just tell Beesnap what Honey’s ghost is saying.
-🐝 Anon (If you don’t have one of those)
Heheheee these are great thank you!!!!
I don’t think it’s ever going to sit right for her. She’s lost her daughter to something else and misses her dearly. The only comfort she really has is that Honey, as you’ve said, does very much try and be the bridge between them. A big part of Honeypaw’s story in this is learning just how loved she is and to stop trying to chase praise where she’s not going to get it.
Beesnap, after she stops strangling this imposter in her daughter’s body (like mother like daughter lol), does eventually come around to being of help. Honey wants to go home after all and Bee wants a way to get her daughter back, there’s no reason they can’t work together in that regard.
#deer rambles#wc isekai au#well there’s also another way honeypaw can talk to her mama#and any ghost can learn it in less than one lesson!#too bad the side effects are a bit severe for long term use#also i don’t think I’ve had a bee anon#every anon i get is one person playing jigsaw like mind games with me#honey's horrible time

been thinking things over and i think i'm gonna scrap Honeypaw and Frostblaze "twist" of being half-sisters and just have them know right off the bat. The original idea was that was gonna be the reveal to push Honeypaw over into murder territory but there's really no reason she or Beesnap wouldn't suspect something with how similar they look. Much more fun to have the "snap" be from a long long boiling pot of barely contained anger.
#wc isekai au#i originally wanted owlstar's sister to be the “red herring” for frostblaze's mother#but it doesnt really make sense either since she's part of the “noble” family#honeypaw's mentor is Obligatory Suspicious Brown Tabby#honey's horrible time
