I bit God's hand and now he wont even feed me

This ones inspired by a picture of Mary holding Jesus but, since Virgil grew up in foster care and never knew his mother, there's no one there. Just the hollow space where someone should be.

It speaks to his relationship (and subsequent disconnection) with his heritage and culture as the orphaned child of immigrants and his difficult relationship with religion, having grown up religious but feeling betrayed and abandoned by god after his injury.

I wanted it to look like an old post card, it says return to sender but unfortunately they didn't leave a return address. It's probably just gonna sit at the post office until they throw it away. :-(

I haven't really done much art for tumblr (at all) lately, cus life, but! Here's a lil something I've been working on (it's a Xmas gift) 💙

(also peep that lil January calendar painting 👀 i did mini squares for each month for myself, because I need to have a physical one always, and they each have their own colour 🥺)

#sometimes i forget i'm a painter lol #this is just the base so i'll still add some cool stuff (colours and some gold leaf details hehe)#usually my thing is more flat/less busy painting (with more mixed media) but i've been digging this vibe lately #my art account is completely wiped cus i private everything earlier this year (same with personal)#but i wanna start posting again. not just old stuff but actually *make* something new everyday #like a little challenge i suppose #since i'm not currently working in my field and have being going through a bit of a rough adjustment period about ✨things✨#(plus the whole depresh spiraling)#i barely have been making any art at all that isn't just sketches/silly stuff #i miss painting. i miss making murals and working on an actual project etc #now that *some * things have been settled AND i finally have my own space i feel a lot more keen on working on it #i know i hardly ever talk about that part of my private life cus i do wanna keep it somewhat separate from here #but i guess i'm in a good mood and kinda ready to admit some stuff #??? that didn't make sense #i'm feeling hopeful for next year and have a semblance of a plan. A couple of months ago, I showcased what Mega Man would look like in the toony artstyle of Pizza Tower, though since then I've wondered something... what would Peppino Spaghetti look like had he been drawn by Mega Man illustrators Keiji Inafune and Ryuji Higurashi?

#Star's Art #Pizza Tower #Peppino Spaghetti #Mega Man #Rockman #Coolness #PPN-001: ITALIAN MAN WILL BE REAL IN ZERO SECONDS #Given that I've been on a Mega Man kick lately I REALLY wanted to draw something in the Classic style again #Though this time I wanted to do something particularly challenging... drawing a HUMAN in the style #For those who don't know there are very few humans in the Mega Man franchise drawn in Inafune's style #So references to use for drawing the such are in incredibly short supply #Though a handful of references wouldn't deter me from giving such a challenge a shot...#... and who better to depict in one of my favorite artstyles than your local anxiety-ridden pizzeria owner?#I felt like it was only right to draw a Mega Man-styled Peppino after drawing a Pizza Tower-styled Mega Man #And for my first foray into drawing Classic styled humans... I think I did a fine job!#I think what took me the longest to draw was stylizing Peppino's head to look... for lack of a better term... normal?#What I ended up with was not only something that'd look feasible in the Mega Man continuity...#... but also something that stays true to Peppino's design too!#I've been thinking about drawing myself in the style too #If I can nail drawing somebody like Peppino Spaghetti in this style then it is ABSOLUTELY within my skillset!💙✨

#im going through my old art summaries as i'm prepping this year's #and... man. i've been hard on myself lately but god i do actually draw very well and i should be proud of that #it can be hard sometimes and it won't always come out perfect #but when i go hard. i Go HARD #i should be less afraid to make mistakes and be more adventurous when i draw stuff #looking back at all this stuff from the last decade... it's made me happy. which is sorta weird cuz up until now it made me feel kinda sad #like i thought the last few years especially had been kind of flops but tbh i've done a lot! and i think many of the things i did were cool #idk i'm feeling good and nostalgic now #hoping for a good art year in the coming year. i wanna challenge myself more and keep getting better

Girl help I keep thinking about freaking persona 4

#i have banned myself from engaging with any persona 4 related content (except for memes my sister sends me)#because yeah its genuinely deeply upsetting for me and i always feel like absolute shit #but aghhh for some reason my brain has been fixated on it this week thinking about all the offensive garbage it is #and i keep thinking of all the evidence i can gather definitively proving that the writing is sooooo homophobic/transphobic #which is a very easy thing to gather up and prove since its all over the damn place lol #but like im just so fixated on how awful the game is and how the fans are even worse and i have this urge to argue forever #something im sure a lot of yall can relate to #cuz god it hurts to be screaming at people that theyre hurting you and for them to just say no to you as if its up for debate #if this sounds dramatic cuz its Juat A Game liiiike no its not Just A Game this is about #my daily life requires me to argue my existence constantly and its the same for every other damn marginalized person out there #and idk if youre still gonna either ignore or deny that persona 4 isnt batshit insanely offensive then youre stupid #i dont have the patience to argue shit like this anymore because theres no way someone with a brain can deny shit like that #and quite frankly even well intentioned queer fans who try to make headcanons that either say fuck you to the game #or hcs that do nothing at all to challenge the bigotry in p4 are kinda annoying to me #cuz it hurts too much to play along like yeah id LOVE to just slap a rainbow on kanji and a trans guy badge on naoto #and call it a day and enjoy the game outside of it all but thats kinda impossible #when these two characters entire existence revolves around the bigotry and its done in a way that hurts like hell to see #its too real for me to enjoy even if i make positive ‘fuck you atlus’ fan art #yeah ughhhh whatever its just annoying cuz I’ve been doing a good job at blocking this game away from my life #cuz it brought nothing but anger to me but its just been something thats been stuck on me lately #and im really not sure what triggered this or why its been lingering so long like please stoppp #its really embarrassing to be having bad mental illness over a shitty bibleo game 🙄

reread Ekleipsis bc I got some very nice comments on it and wanted to revisit it 2 years later and u know what?? I think it still holds up p well! There are slight typos and parts I wish I could’ve lengthened, foreshadowed more, or gotten Deep into the lore/characters abt, but considering I was busting out a chapter a day and had it done in a dang month I do think it’s pretty good as a lil story!! Would love to do more art for it or revisit the world in some way some day. Babies first real Big Original work 🥺 in my mind it’s still kind of the first draft version, but I’m still proud regardless… ❣️

#I do recommend the ao3 version atm bc it has less typos however it does have SOME and when I have more time I’ll comb it again and fix them #also lol name a more iconic duo than me and doing monthly challenges #I’ve done so many at this point I’ve lost count #that was nanowrimo. I’ve done the 30 days of otps challenges TWICE.#100 fanmews challenge.#(one a day)#30 day magical girl challenge. 30 day monster challenge. that year long drawing challenge #daily may LAST MONTH!!!#I LOVE setting little goals and going ham #I kind of want to do nano again but maaaybe not this year #my year challenge has been keep posting 1 weekly page of the comic each week all year #and so far I haven’t missed a week halfway into the year! I was one day late on one but rly. not so bad #also I put my Ekleipsis ocs on AF I am curious if anyone will draw them? :0 #excited 2 see which ocs ppl are drawn to the most eeeee I’m so excited for art fight #I’m considering doing speedpaints for all my attacks or even trying daily attacks ??#or both of those things. maybe #it will depend on my energy and schedule around then I’m not going to hold myself to that very strictly #oh speaking of monthly challenges tho next year I would LOVE to try femslash Feb #and also maybe OCtober or huetober or even inktober again bc I did do that one year too #OR MERMAY!! omg I’ve never done mermay that’s CRAZY (loves mermaids so much I have a mermaid tat)
