In approximately a week I binge read the entire Sonic IDW comics and fell absolutely in love with Team Chaotix. They are perfection and you can't convince me otherwise.

Also I totally didn't scream in horror while reading the metal virus arc and nothing happens to my babies there hahahahah

near, keeps building the tower in complete silence

and after a while mello just knows

near, assembling a hot wheels highway: it's almost impossible for opossums to get rabies

but sometimes is just

near, under a ten storey lego building: praying mantis can change colors to adapt to their environment

mello: wait. like chameleons?

near, already on the eleventh floor, completely silent

mello, side-eyeing rester who just sighs and googles it

While I'm glad the detail that Sonic willingly worked with Eggman in a situation where the world wasn't at stake wasn'tforgotten, I am disappointed that it seems we're never getting any kind of reaction or fallout from the diamond cutters learning about this.

Like I'm sorry, but add all this AND the Metal Virus trauma and I'm pretty sure these three would have some opinions on Sonic's decision!?!?

The one tiny hope I have is that should they ever find out, it'll make them reform the team for real.

Item Boxes Are Literal

So Item Boxes and Monitors used to store power-up, items, Wisps, among other things are literal. In the IDW Comics during the Zombot Virus Arc Vector takes on and captures a Zombot Charmy with it, this shows they do exist in universe and are not just a gameplay mechanic. Also, you can fish one up in Big's Fishing Sections in Sonic Frontiers. The Fish-O-Pedia makes mention of the fact they are used to store items.

I just finished reading the metal virus ark for the idw comics. (I just finished and I’m at the part where they’re having the party)

Holy shit you guys were not exaggerating at all. I genuinely almost cried.

Things I would have liked to seen explored in the metal virus arc: Espio dealing with not wanting to be “lead detective.” Not because he’s incapable, not because he wouldn’t be amazing at it; but because of the finality of the loss that would come with it.

Had this conversation in another post: when Vector said that line, it really had a vibe of a father passing on a position to his eldest son…a son who doesn’t feel ready for it despite being plenty capable.

What I would have loved to see in the comic; Espio grappling with the weight of that and maybe just having a moment where he feels his age. Just a little moment, at least.

I mean, the comics do a great service in letting the younger characters have moments of being young…but sometimes it feels a little disproportionate because, well…Sonic and everyone but Vector and Vanilla aren’t exactly all grown up either. Sometimes it can just come off a bit patronising/infantilising…but that’s a whole different conversation.

moonracer!!! I haven't read any of her comics and sadly she wasnt much in wfc2020 but I love her in g1 and she's also my favourite color which is probably some percentage of a bias 😭 after moonracer it's probably chromia

but if we're talking about other iterations and not in general, i ADORE earthspark arcee with a passion like holy shit I love her 😭😭

i don't really have any headcannons for those girlies except that moonracer would probably like listen to ateez or smth but that one is more self projecting 😭
