i ended up having a like. 30 minute conversation with some of those "freedom convoy" people. was at the bus stop. they were wearing trump hats. i ended up roped into the conversation because i was so taken aback at seeing one in public i was just. staring at it. ive never felt more depressed about someone elses life and beliefs than when i talked to them.

#LOOK AT THE BABIESSS#this is tough#i have my own eurasian kestrel and she is everything so im biased here#i have a lot of favourites though#the runner up is harris hawks because theyre so intelligent and their flight ability is gorgeous and theyre so fun to train#i will say i prefer the call of harris hawks because my kestrel shrieks and it bursts my ear drums </3#a lot of owls cause theyre so beautiful and i love their temperament but also each is very unique and you get to form a bond with each one#ultimately eurasian kestrel is gonna have to win though cause they do a bit of everything that i love about falcons hawks and owls respecti#long wings generally cant be taught “tricks” but kestrels can be— i mean have you SEEN them hovering? they have a lot of manoeuvrability to#you can also do lure work with a kestrel so arabic style lure swinging rather than just as a recall like most hawks#another thing is weight management and feeding schedules compared to bigger falcons like sakers peregrines lanners etc#the rule i was taught with longwings is to feed once a day w/ a big reward#while there are exceptions they generally dont respond that well to small pieces and multiple flights whereas hawks and owls will#kestrels are an exception and do well with that training style#also eurasian kestrels will respond to food even if they’re not necessarily very hungry same as with hawks#which means you can do multiple flights a day and train both short and long distances#you could argue that their size is a disadvantage but personally i really enjoy microfalconry#size doesn't matter (bird edition)#although flying a big hawk owl eagle or gyr will always have a certain <33333 to it i’ll admit#also in my experience kestrels have that intelligence and sociability and variety that you see with owls and a lot of hawks#i think all birds are special and i adore all the raptors that i’ve worked with but i love when they’re very obviously smart#you look in their eyes and you can see them analysing and understanding things around them#smart birds will also challenge you quite a bit#you have to treat them with a lot of respect and consideration to get any back and once you do earn it its the most incredible feeling#and of all the falcons ive worked with eurasian kestrels are the smartest#i wont compare them visually because all birds are so so beautiful but kestrels generally are a joy to watch like hellooooo#so yes i love all raptors and all birds but ultimately kestrels <333333#harris hawks and desert eagle owls are very very close seconds but if I had to choose one then yeah!#ALSO shout out to vultures and eagles i adore them but i dont have much first hand experience (yet!) so they’re not talked abt much#birds

#this post was made bcs theres this filipino guy in my class and he reminded me of my first ever best friend#who was a girl from the philippines and she was wonderful#she was the first person in primary school to be actually nice to me#maybe because id been the first person to be nice to her#we were both half foreign to the country#and very short and small generally#and quiet#so other kids werent all that great you know how it is#then we met in year 5#and i somehow built up the courage to talk to her#and i had the most fun id ever had with a kid my age#she was funny and smart and creative and kind#but she moved far away like halfway through the year#i miss her#its been a long time since then and i have another best friend now who i also love#but i still think about her soemtimes#also filipinos in general are great theyre so cool you should befriend the filipino in your class trust me#also south asains in general these past couple years a lot have started living in my country and theyre honeslty some of the most polite#and generous and fun people here#even though theres a lot of racism against them#and a lot arent doing great financially etc.#but they dont lose their values and their lovely personalities#anyway that its it#long post but its all in the tags lol

#amadea had him in undergrad and i think they very much clicked. solas is the kind of prof who treats you as an equal#if you are willing to admit when youre wrong and back up your points with evidence then he always takes you seriously#hes also very smart and a subject matter expert so. like good luck holding your ground.#but anyway. yeah amadea was the kind of mf to pop by his office because something from the reading struck her#and theyd talk for an hour and she'd walk away with three books from his collection with sticky note tabs marking articles/chapters#and she would not only read them but she would reference them in discussions during class#he was almost certainly her thesis advisor for her masters at the same university#she goes somewhere else for her doctorate probably. theyre still friends though. they hear from each other sporadically.#solas is notoriously bad about checking his email and does not use social media so sometimes he'll see she sent him something two weeks ago#ANYWAY once she's ~doctor lavellan~ she does go back to her alma mater and is able to get a job teaching there#and then the relationship gets. weird. because that mentor/mentee barrier is still there#but also theyre colleagues. its normal for them to go out for coffee or drinks or parties together.#he always treated her like an equal but now she actually is. they walk across campus together and everyone else sees two professors#the professionalism barrier is still there but not as strong. and they are both still the same people. they spend hours upon hours#just standing around talking. i feel like in this universe everyone else knows theyre in love before they do#more evidence the brainrot is bad: im writing tag essays again#carly.txt#carly's ocs#oc: amadea

I'm not judging anyone, but I think people might be tiniest bit hypocritical when they treat Asian people like they're monsters for eating dog, meanwhile they had bacon for breakfast. I absolutely could never eat dog, and im not going to judge others for eating pig, but pretty much every argument you could give for not eating dogs could apply to pigs
