the term "replay value" when it comes to videogames was a mistake
if the game is good its worth replaying simple as that
#fr tho people watch movies again or read books again#because if the game is actually good it shouldn't MATTER if it doesn't get huge content updates or forced in online shit it should still be#worth experiencing again#i hate the replay value mentality so much it treats videogames as disposable products rather than art or hell even just Good entertainment#experiences

Aerospray RG :3
Okay, so this is gonna sound harsh, but it's something I've been mulling over for a long time so I'll just say it how I see it: I think this gun is a massive newbie trap. RG is designed in such a way that it makes new players feel like they're doing good by giving them really high turf score at the end of the match, but high turf score doesn't actually mean you're doing good, because Turf Wars is not actually about turf score, but about map control, and this gun has absolutely no tools with which to establish control. It has no range, abysmal DPS, no bombs, and its Special is highly telegraphed and easily avoided if you see it coming.
RG works really well in lower levels of play because new players are still learning how to aim and how their weapons work and as such can't actually exploit RG's weaknesses, letting it get away with just painting the map and racking up huge turf scores while not really teaching you anything about the game, creating a false sense of progress that shatters dramatically the second you start running into people who actually know what they're doing and can completely shut RG out of the game as a result. The further you climb the skill ladder the more this weapon relies on its opponents just fucking up and letting it get away with things it really shouldn't, or on its teammates to open up opportunities for it.
All that said, I am not saying you should stop using it.
I think RG is a newbie trap. I think it creates a false sense of strength while actually being extremely limited in what it can do. I think it teaches you bad habits and leaves you unprepared to face the challenges the game will put in front of you. But if you think RG is fun, it if makes the game richer and more interesting to you, then nothing I've just said matters. All the criticism I just heaped at the gun, all the weaknesses and flaws it has, all of that utterly melts in the face of a single phrase: "but I like it."
I have a lot of opinions, but I am not here to police the way you play Splatoon 3. Anyone who tries to do that is an active detriment to the community, and don't deserve your attention or respect. Play the game your way, always.
Golden Gala Masque / Annaki Anchored Coat / Gold Hi-Horses
#splatoon 3#this post ended up being very long and I am very sorry about that#I have a lot of very strong opinions about this gun#for a weapon I don't like I sure do think about it a lot#outfit request

Doing Hypnosis That Actually Works (Ep.2)
You want to become better at doing hypnosis? In the previous episode, I touched briefly on some things that prevent hypnosis from being effective and actually working on you. Some of it might not be you! It might be what you're hearing. But what makes hypnosis effective? Let's go into depth on that. Here I talk about making hypnosis files work effectively, but it will also help you sculpt your suggestions better so you can powerfully hypnotize someone during a live session.
Transcript
(00:00:00):
People come to me all the time and they say,
(00:00:03):
wow,
(00:00:05):
I thought that hypnosis just didn't work on me until I tried your files.
(00:00:12):
It took a little bit of practice and tweaking to get there, but now it seems like I have unlocked
(00:00:20):
my own formula and the formula for your effectiveness might turn out different but
(00:00:28):
i invite you to use parts of my formula within yours remember we are all here
(00:00:35):
together
(00:00:36):
I want to see people creating good content that works.
(00:00:42):
Because when I first saw hypnosis content on the internet, I was completely in awe of the possibilities.
(00:00:51):
It was this magical world where anything could be created.
(00:00:56):
The body, the mind, working together to create anything.
(00:01:02):
You could change who you are, your shape, your identity.
(00:01:06):
You could change your body, your thoughts, your habits and ideas.
(00:01:12):
You could experience anything erotic or therapeutic.
(00:01:17):
I found these huge libraries of audio files all over the internet.
(00:01:23):
But that dream kind of came crashing down, because a lot of them just didn't work.
(00:01:31):
And it makes one think, is there something wrong with me?
(00:01:36):
In the previous episode,
(00:01:38):
I talked all about making yourself more susceptible to hypnosis and making it work
(00:01:44):
for you.
(00:01:46):
Today I'm going to talk about how to make hypnosis content that works.
(00:01:52):
This will help you to make original content or to edit someone else's content to your own desires.
(00:02:00):
Of course,
(00:02:01):
you shouldn't publish someone else's content as your own,
(00:02:05):
but I know plenty of people chop up hypnosis content and put it together in their
(00:02:11):
own way for their own usage.
(00:02:15):
Now first you're going to need the right equipment,
(00:02:19):
though in my beginning I recorded on a simple gaming headset.
(00:02:25):
You know, one of those little microphones that sticks out from the headphones.
(00:02:30):
And no one ever complained about the audio quality.
(00:02:35):
I just made sure that my mouth was the correct distance,
(00:02:39):
the volume levels were good,
(00:02:41):
and the backgrounds were decent.
(00:02:44):
And no one complained.
(00:02:46):
So just remember that it doesn't have to be perfect.
(00:02:51):
After all,
(00:02:52):
famous YouTuber Casey Neistat once said that it's not about the camera that you
(00:02:58):
have or the quality of it all.
(00:03:01):
It's about the story that you tell and the way you communicate.
(00:03:06):
The content is what matters, but it is nice to make sure that there is no background noise.
(00:03:14):
You don't want noise coming from your computer, and you don't want echo or reverb on your microphone.
(00:03:23):
Personally,
(00:03:23):
I like to use a dynamic type microphone,
(00:03:27):
which is commonly used by podcasters and such,
(00:03:32):
because it cuts out a lot of that noise that is around the microphone,
(00:03:38):
or distant from it,
(00:03:39):
or off-axis from it.
(00:03:42):
It also kind of gives you that warm broadcaster sound that you're hearing right now.
(00:03:49):
Now these dynamic microphones do often pick up an electrical hiss,
(00:03:55):
this constant hum that comes from the frequency of the electricity in the room,
(00:04:02):
and you can take that out with a simple noise cancellation.
(00:04:06):
I like to hook up my microphone to a small preamp because I do not speak very loudly,
(00:04:13):
and this will bump up the volume of my speech.
(00:04:19):
Then that connects to an audio interface, which translates it digitally via USB to a USB port on the PC.
(00:04:31):
I use a PC case from a German manufacturer called BeQuiet.
(00:04:37):
They always come with quiet fans and hard drive mounts that are soft,
(00:04:43):
sound deadening and all that stuff.
(00:04:46):
But realistically, any modern PC case is going to be much better than we had years ago.
(00:04:54):
I find that two large fans work fine in the PC.
(00:04:59):
One intake and one exhaust.
(00:05:02):
120mm or 140mm, not a big deal.
(00:05:09):
For the average PC, two case fans is fine.
(00:05:14):
And with today's technology,
(00:05:15):
you might not even need a hard drive,
(00:05:19):
which can make all kinds of loud random noises.
(00:05:23):
And then a nice tower cooler on your CPU goes a long way to keep fan speeds down.
(00:05:31):
If you're recording with a laptop, it's probably no problem.
(00:05:36):
Just close out any other programs so that your fans are not ramping up.
(00:05:42):
But please use a dedicated microphone.
(00:05:45):
Don't just record it through the microphone on your phone or mobile device or on your laptop.
(00:05:53):
Plug in some kind of microphone and it's going to be way, way better.
(00:05:59):
Now,
(00:05:59):
the way you speak is going to be your own individual thing,
(00:06:05):
so I can't really comment on that too much.
(00:06:08):
Just make sure that you are clear and you're in a good position.
(00:06:13):
You might want to stand up to have a more full,
(00:06:18):
dynamic voice,
(00:06:20):
or you might want to sit down to be really chill.
(00:06:24):
Listen back to your recording and see what it sounds like.
(00:06:29):
Of course, don't be too critical, as no one really likes the sound of their own voice on recording.
(00:06:37):
You can use a pop filter,
(00:06:39):
a little piece of material that goes over your microphone that prevents a popping
(00:06:46):
sound when you make a P sound.
(00:06:49):
That's the air blowing over the microphone.
(00:06:52):
But I find a good solution is to just offset the microphone to the side a little
(00:06:58):
bit so that you're not blowing on it every time you make that P sound.
(00:07:03):
Get the appropriate distance so that you're not breathing on the mic too much.
(00:07:10):
Be mindful that you're not bumping anything because that can make a loud sound and
(00:07:16):
it's pretty annoying when you're listening to hypnosis.
(00:07:21):
Even a tiny tap on your microphone can sound quite loud for the listener.
(00:07:28):
Now let's say you're not using your microphone at all.
(00:07:32):
Maybe you create the voice digitally through a text-to-speech program.
(00:07:41):
In practice,
(00:07:41):
this kind of thing usually doesn't sound very good,
(00:07:46):
but there are a number of people that do it right,
(00:07:50):
and it sounds really,
(00:07:52):
really good.
(00:07:55):
I can't tell you the techniques that they are using,
(00:07:59):
but maybe you could listen around and try and find those creators that are using that,
(00:08:06):
and see if they'll give you a few tips.
(00:08:10):
I do know that using the traditional built-in Microsoft voices can be horrendous at
(00:08:18):
worst and comical at best.
(00:08:23):
But even then, some people use those voices and they tweak them a certain way and it sounds pretty good.
(00:08:30):
Now,
(00:08:30):
you are in luck if text-to-speech is something you use or you want to get into at
(00:08:36):
the moment,
(00:08:37):
because we have a lot of new AI models working on that right now.
(00:08:44):
These machine learning models are working themselves out as we speak, getting better and better.
(00:08:53):
They are so good that they can imitate the voices of famous people.
(00:09:01):
Kind of frightening implications,
(00:09:04):
but I'm sure there's plenty of made-up voices for you to use and experiment with.
(00:09:12):
These voices are sounding quite good.
(00:09:17):
you will have to play around with them and tweak them so that they get the right intonations and timing.
(00:09:27):
You will have to work closely with it and edit the audio yourself and the timing
(00:09:33):
with it so that it sounds more natural.
(00:09:37):
I don't know how to use this stuff.
(00:09:39):
I just know that I'm hearing it all over the web and it's getting better,
(00:09:45):
so you have an opportunity there.
(00:09:50):
Now, I can't explain everything that works, but let's talk about the basics of making hypnosis work.
(00:09:58):
I'm talking in the audio content creation here because it is a bit different when you are in person.
(00:10:08):
A lot of these techniques that you learn in person don't work in an audio file.
(00:10:16):
They might involve checks or deepeners.
(00:10:20):
Anything that involves interaction with the viewer is not possible when we are creating audio.
(00:10:29):
Though some of it might apply when you're doing it live to someone over the internet.
(00:10:36):
The funny thing is you see people with all of their certifications, all their training courses and such.
(00:10:45):
Those things are great, but they may not provide you with the natural delivery that works best.
(00:10:55):
or something that works best via audio file.
(00:11:00):
Going by a script is fine and typically necessary at first, even for quite a while.
(00:11:10):
But after learning a certain number of techniques, you often go beyond technique.
(00:11:18):
You begin to kind of just do it.
(00:11:23):
It can be a bit conversational, and people love to experience it in that way.
(00:11:31):
It makes them feel that it's normal and natural,
(00:11:34):
and there's no pressure on them to go into some state of trance.
(00:11:40):
You kind of sneak your way in there, so to speak.
(00:11:45):
So one of the best ways to go into this is to have no script,
(00:11:51):
or I think even better,
(00:11:53):
is a basic,
(00:11:55):
simple script.
(00:11:57):
Kind of a list or jot notes of what you want to talk about and create.
(00:12:05):
Now this is a bit advanced.
(00:12:07):
I do recommend in the beginning that you literally just write out what you're going
(00:12:12):
to say or what you're going to make your program say or whatever.
(00:12:19):
This naturalness comes after you get your voice and get some practice in understanding what works.
(00:12:31):
Next is what I think might be the most important thing.
(00:12:37):
And if there's one thing that I'd like you to take from this entire talk, it is this.
(00:12:44):
Be all positive.
(00:12:48):
Yes, every single thing that you say should be in a positive light.
(00:12:55):
And that means literally using only positive words.
(00:13:02):
For example, I will rarely ever say the word bad.
(00:13:06):
I won't even go that far.
(00:13:09):
I will often say not so good or not ideal.
(00:13:16):
In those situations, I'm using a negative positive.
(00:13:21):
I won't even say the words let go of the stress of the day.
(00:13:25):
I will just say let go of everything.
(00:13:33):
You may or may not be aware of the vibration of this.
(00:13:38):
But take a moment to feel into that.
(00:13:41):
Feel the difference of that.
(00:13:45):
Let go of your stresses.
(00:13:47):
For some, that might be okay.
(00:13:49):
They might say, oh, that sounds like a good, nice thing.
(00:13:53):
I've had a stressful day.
(00:13:56):
And for others that are already in a relaxed, good mood, they're kind of like, what?
(00:14:03):
I'm not stressed.
(00:14:05):
In fact, you're kind of making me stressed by assuming that I am stressed for some reason.
(00:14:12):
It is so, so common for people to say things like this.
(00:14:18):
I've heard this from people doing live hypnosis, hypnotherapy,
(00:14:24):
audios of every niche and topic.
(00:14:28):
It is so common, and I cannot blame you for doing it, but it does need to change.
(00:14:37):
Everything that you say needs to be in a positive light.
(00:14:45):
Even if I'm doing some kind of dark or evil roleplay,
(00:14:52):
I keep everything as positive and playful as possible so that no one experiences a
(00:15:00):
bad trigger and we keep the vibe as high as possible.
(00:15:06):
It is especially important to keep positivity when a subject is under hypnosis
(00:15:14):
because they are susceptible and we want only positive suggestions to go into them.
(00:15:22):
Remember, this is a rewiring a brain.
(00:15:27):
And positivity is what makes everything work.
(00:15:31):
Even in the workplace,
(00:15:34):
most experiments show that positive comments will provide you with much more benefit,
(00:15:42):
better results,
(00:15:44):
and better output than negative feedback.
(00:15:50):
This is simply the nature of things.
(00:15:52):
Good things come from good things.
(00:15:57):
After all, hypnosis is just a heightened state that connects to the law of attraction.
(00:16:06):
Like attracts like.
(00:16:09):
You don't have to be shouting glee from the rooftops.
(00:16:14):
I'm certainly no manic pixie myself.
(00:16:18):
I'm pretty monotone.
(00:16:20):
That's just how I talk.
(00:16:22):
But my choice of always keeping it positive makes for not just an easy listening experience,
(00:16:31):
but something that works.
(00:16:34):
Something that creates something positive in your life.
(00:16:40):
I think that's pretty simple.
(00:16:42):
Now on to the next thing.
(00:16:44):
People have a little bit of an attention issue today.
(00:16:49):
It's no surprise when you look around that our attention spans are dwindling.
(00:16:57):
So let's work with that.
(00:16:59):
In fact, it challenges us to be better by making our content less boring.
(00:17:10):
That means capturing the listener or viewer's attention the moment that you start.
(00:17:18):
Perhaps you noticed that I jumped right into this recording without a bunch of preamble,
(00:17:26):
and that is pretty typical of my content.
(00:17:29):
I'm kind of
(00:17:31):
calling out a lot of people here when I say this,
(00:17:33):
but I did not start this talk by saying,
(00:17:38):
welcome to Jack's Hypnosis,
(00:17:40):
where we help you with this and that,
(00:17:43):
and we talk about all these kinds of things,
(00:17:45):
and here's who I am,
(00:17:47):
and here's what I do,
(00:17:48):
and here's why you should listen to me,
(00:17:50):
and oh,
(00:17:51):
roll that 30 second intro,
(00:17:54):
but not before I tell you about our sponsor,
(00:17:58):
and blah blah blah blah blah,
(00:18:00):
And then maybe give an explanation of what hypnosis is.
(00:18:03):
And then the warnings, never listen while driving and taking medications, blah, blah, blah, blah.
(00:18:10):
And then some big, long, slow induction for 30 minutes.
(00:18:16):
And I know some people don't mind that kind of thing.
(00:18:19):
They like a long induction.
(00:18:21):
They don't mind a nice intro,
(00:18:25):
but I know that half the people out there are figuratively punching the air right now,
(00:18:31):
like,
(00:18:32):
yes,
(00:18:33):
stop that shit.
(00:18:35):
Get on with it.
(00:18:37):
Just start it.
(00:18:38):
The people want their content.
(00:18:42):
So make your content start with the very first sentence.
(00:18:50):
It's almost a pretend intro when you do it this way.
(00:18:54):
And the listener does not realize that it's starting already and that they're
(00:18:59):
having thoughts of it in the first sentence.
(00:19:03):
You're getting it started.
(00:19:06):
You're going to start off with something where the subject doesn't need to be in trance for it to work.
(00:19:15):
For example, if I was going to help you become a better public speaker,
(00:19:21):
I would start off my first sentence by saying,
(00:19:25):
Wouldn't it be nice to be clear,
(00:19:28):
confident,
(00:19:29):
and precise whenever you speak to people?
(00:19:34):
Even if it's more than one person at a time.
(00:19:37):
Even if it's many people at once.
(00:19:43):
Just that first sentence primes them for confidence and capability.
(00:19:50):
And let's just say that person still needs a whole lot more confidence points to
(00:19:57):
get up to that level of being the perfect public speaker.
(00:20:02):
Well, I just boosted them up one or two points, and they're already on their way.
(00:20:08):
They've got their first stepping stones to dive in.
(00:20:12):
Now they're already confident enough to go further.
(00:20:17):
And they didn't have to wait for it.
(00:20:20):
They didn't have to endure anything to get to that point.
(00:20:25):
It's like, bang, delivered right to them the second they pressed the button.
(00:20:30):
What a VIP experience.
(00:20:35):
Then you can blend the induction into the content of what the listener wants or your intentions.
(00:20:44):
You could say something like, relaxation grants a sense of confidence.
(00:20:51):
And that's a little hypnotic hint to go deeper.
(00:20:55):
You're just nudging them down a little bit.
(00:20:59):
And you do that for a little while,
(00:21:01):
and then maybe after five or ten minutes,
(00:21:04):
you might mention how they feel a bit heavier than before.
(00:21:11):
Oh hey, maybe you notice that you're feeling heavier and more relaxed than you were a few minutes ago.
(00:21:21):
That's perfectly natural and normal.
(00:21:25):
There are a lot of people listening that are already feeling that.
(00:21:30):
For some, it's this whoa, huge effect, and for others, it's a little hint, a little nudge.
(00:21:38):
And that's all you're doing, just nudging and nudging.
(00:21:43):
And then you could say something that implies that they are feeling heavy,
(00:21:49):
or maybe their eyes are feeling heavy.
(00:21:53):
Hey, did you notice that your eyes feel a bit heavy?
(00:21:59):
And then you could say, allow your mind to take you down deeper.
(00:22:06):
It's important to always keep going deeper.
(00:22:11):
But you don't just say, go deeper.
(00:22:15):
Because the subject kind of thinks, what does that mean?
(00:22:19):
How do I do that?
(00:22:21):
They get confused and then they're like, oh, I must not be very good at going deeper.
(00:22:27):
No, go deeper is a strange command in itself.
(00:22:33):
So let's break down the example that I gave you.
(00:22:38):
Allow your mind to take you deeper.
(00:22:43):
There's a few layers to that.
(00:22:46):
the first command is allow and that in itself is enough to take you deeper because
(00:22:56):
that state of going deeper is the state of allowing and even just that you could
(00:23:03):
expand on that word allow you could say let yourself drop when you drop let go into
(00:23:13):
the ease
(00:23:15):
Let what happens happen.
(00:23:19):
That's what allowing is.
(00:23:23):
Let's break down the next part.
(00:23:25):
Your mind.
(00:23:28):
First is the word you.
(00:23:30):
And that grabs the listener's attention.
(00:23:34):
It's the cocktail effect.
(00:23:35):
It's like hearing your name.
(00:23:38):
This is directed at you.
(00:23:41):
So you end up paying attention right away.
(00:23:45):
Then there's the phrase, your mind, which is often subconsciously interpreted as your mind.
(00:23:57):
The subject might even consciously mistake it for that,
(00:24:02):
especially if you're doing this in an erotic context.
(00:24:08):
and then the instruction to go deeper but now the listener has a method they have
(00:24:16):
the how they know that they have to allow their mind and it will take them there so
(00:24:25):
the instruction is no longer to go deeper
(00:24:29):
It's to do what they need to do to go deeper.
(00:24:34):
Oh, now it makes sense.
(00:24:37):
Now you've got your viewer.
(00:24:40):
Now they're going into that highly susceptible place.
(00:24:44):
Now their brainwaves are slowing down.
(00:24:48):
Now they're beginning to feel that bliss of trance creeping in.
(00:24:55):
And it feels like they didn't have to try.
(00:25:00):
And I like to avoid using numbers of deeper,
(00:25:04):
like people will say 10 times deeper,
(00:25:06):
50 times deeper,
(00:25:09):
because that doesn't make any sense to the listener's mind.
(00:25:14):
It's just like, what does that mean?
(00:25:15):
What does that feel like?
(00:25:17):
How do I do that?
(00:25:18):
And you start thinking like, isn't that a lot?
(00:25:21):
How is that even possible?
(00:25:23):
Most of us have a pretty analytical mind, and that's just not going to work for them.
(00:25:31):
Basically, don't put pressure on the subject.
(00:25:36):
Don't make them perform unless that's something that they want to do.
(00:25:41):
Don't make them try so hard.
(00:25:43):
Do as much as you can yourself to create that experience for them.
(00:25:50):
And then even when the subject is deep in a trance,
(00:25:56):
give them suggestions that would probably still work even out of trance.
(00:26:04):
Because then you're making them really comfortable.
(00:26:07):
You're making them feel like they don't need to be in this strange magical state of
(00:26:12):
mind to make this work.
(00:26:17):
Let's go back to the public speaking example.
(00:26:21):
Even when we think that the subject is in a deep trance right now,
(00:26:27):
we are not going to jump straight into the suggestion of,
(00:26:31):
you are a perfect public speaker.
(00:26:35):
It's not a bad suggestion.
(00:26:38):
I just like to think, what if they're not in the most deep receptive state right now?
(00:26:46):
But I still want it to work.
(00:26:49):
I'd like to say something that would work even without trance.
(00:26:56):
Imagine you are cool, calm, and prepared for your talk.
(00:27:02):
Imagine what you feel like when you know that your presentation does not need to be perfect.
(00:27:10):
Imagine the relief of knowing that the fact that you did it is fantastic in itself.
(00:27:18):
And when asked a question that you may not know the answer to,
(00:27:23):
you are cool and confident,
(00:27:26):
knowing that you don't know because you have not looked into that particular topic
(00:27:31):
or you have looked into it and could not find sufficient answers.
(00:27:36):
Isn't it nice to feel the relief of being human?
(00:27:42):
Now look at those string of suggestions that I just used.
(00:27:47):
Those would all work outside of trance.
(00:27:53):
And that's why we need to get ourselves out of the idea of induction and then
(00:28:00):
suggestions that work because the subject is in trance.
(00:28:04):
Yes,
(00:28:05):
this state of deeper brainwave activity,
(00:28:10):
this thing that we call a hypnotic trance,
(00:28:13):
yes,
(00:28:13):
it enhances the suggestions.
(00:28:17):
But it's best to make suggestions that work regardless of whether or not the subject is in trance.
(00:28:26):
This is what it means to make it natural, and this is when it works best.
(00:28:34):
Hypnosis is an enhancement.
(00:28:36):
It doesn't give you any ability to make magical commands.
(00:28:43):
Look at how we create things as humans.
(00:28:46):
We visualize it first.
(00:28:50):
We visualize the ingredients of our salad before we make it.
(00:28:56):
We visualize our body to create it.
(00:29:00):
We imagine it,
(00:29:01):
we feel it,
(00:29:02):
we hear it,
(00:29:03):
use the senses,
(00:29:05):
we line up the emotions with it,
(00:29:07):
and we think of it in as much precision as possible.
(00:29:12):
That's how all things are created, intentionally.
(00:29:18):
Your imagination is a preview of the future.
(00:29:23):
Just by thinking of something, you are drawn to it and it is actually drawn to you.
(00:29:32):
In ways that we understand and in some ways that we honestly don't.
(00:29:37):
Some odd,
(00:29:38):
unbelievable things happen when we combine our imagination with our emotions and
(00:29:46):
our intentions.
(00:29:48):
And sometimes the manifestation just seems to magically appear.
(00:29:54):
We don't know how.
(00:29:55):
Sometimes we try to explain it.
(00:29:58):
Sometimes we consciously make actions towards it, as we should.
(00:30:03):
And sometimes we're thinking about it, and it just sort of pops into your existence.
(00:30:09):
It just sort of happens.
(00:30:11):
And as humans, we don't really have the perception to understand 100% how.
(00:30:21):
All we know is that we get people to conceptualize things first and then they happen.
(00:30:29):
We don't just say it's going to happen.
(00:30:32):
We conceptualize what it's like.
(00:30:36):
We create it in some part of our imagination.
(00:30:39):
And we do some kind of action to move us into a physical space closer to it.
(00:30:46):
And that's what you're encouraging.
(00:30:48):
That's the next part.
(00:30:50):
That is an instruction of something physical.
(00:30:54):
We have mentally created what we want.
(00:30:58):
We have visualized it, heard it, felt it, seen it.
(00:31:04):
We have emotionalized it with as much precision as possible.
(00:31:09):
And now there's this drive and motivation and magnetism towards it.
(00:31:17):
And the best way to get the ball rolling towards that direction is to do something physical.
(00:31:24):
If you're looking to improve someone's physical fitness,
(00:31:28):
one of the instructions might be,
(00:31:30):
make sure that you walk every day.
(00:31:34):
Or,
(00:31:34):
the next time you take a drink of water,
(00:31:37):
stare into the water for a few moments,
(00:31:40):
imagining that that water contains exactly what you need to accomplish your goal.
(00:31:47):
And as you drink that water, you feel it become a part of you.
(00:31:52):
The physical instruction could be anything related to the topic you're talking about.
(00:32:01):
Overall, here's what makes the hypnosis usually work.
(00:32:05):
A calm state of focus.
(00:32:08):
An imagination scenario that makes you feel something as much as possible.
(00:32:16):
And then physically doing something.
(00:32:20):
This is the simple 1-2-3 combo.
(00:32:25):
You have combined three concepts that work excellently together, and you have done them in that order.
(00:32:35):
Because first you relax and focus, then you feel it, and then you begin doing something about it.
(00:32:46):
Then we finish it off by just saying, hey, you can do it.
(00:32:51):
You don't have to try to make it work.
(00:32:54):
You got what it takes.
(00:32:57):
Go ahead and do it.
(00:33:01):
Say it in your own words.
(00:33:03):
How would you tell a friend that they can do it?
(00:33:09):
Now, once you're done your recording, you can do noise reduction and editing.
(00:33:15):
You can put in some background audio.
(00:33:19):
Find whatever fits the vibe that you're going for.
(00:33:25):
You could use binaurals or brainwave entrainment.
(00:33:30):
You could use certain soft music.
(00:33:34):
You may have to search around for royalty-free stuff.
(00:33:38):
You may have to pay for the royalties to use it if you're going to publish it.
(00:33:46):
And it's not necessary to add a background track, but it can add so much depth to it.
(00:33:55):
So I hope that this has helped or at least entertained you.
(00:34:01):
And I'm sure you have learned plenty.
(00:34:03):
You don't have to implement all of these things.
(00:34:07):
And when you do, you can do it in your own way.
(00:34:11):
If you can just be all positive with what you create, you are going to change the world.
(00:34:19):
Honestly, that's all it takes.
(00:34:21):
That is the biggest thing.
(00:34:24):
Do your own thing.
(00:34:25):
Keep it positive.
(00:34:27):
Get out there and make some crazy stuff.

Hello~ I'm here for the mood board 😌. I'll write a general (platonic?) one (no matter how much I want to write a romantic one). Love for me is such a profound emotion to feel and experience. In this generation where the word “Love” gets thrown around for the purpose of patronizing subjects, is honestly such a sad thing to see. There's a general opinion that states that you have to accept the people that you love the way they are no matter how horrible or toxic they may be, because people have the ability to change, therefore you can certainly change them with love because love wins all (as long as you love your neighbors they said) which people collectively agree on because it is what was promoted to us painting this rose colored painting that nothing can not be solved as long as we love them. In my opinion just because we love them does not mean that we always have to be there for them all the time and constantly coddle to them just because they want it. While I do agree with the statement above in some ways, I just think that accepting their behavior and coddling them up would do no good. To me, love is where you DO accept them, however you do not validate their wrongful behaviors; whether this is weponized incompetence (because personally, I absolutely despise lazy people), toxic behaviors such as manipulation and gaslighting, and throwing themselves a pity party. I'm order for them to grow and mature, you have to hold them accountable for their behavior. If you truly love someone, you would help them grow. For me, I absolutely love the idea of myself growing into a better person than I am today, to be more competent and independent and make peace with myself throughout my imperfections and mistakes, and failures. I absolutely loath people who make excuses and try to validate their mistakes by throwing out every insignificant and trivial reasons just so they can continue to whine about their problems without even doing anything significant to help themselves despite saying they've done everything they can without even identifying where exactly they went wrong. You know those people you know who continuously cry and rant about how they want to get better at their studies because they're failing and thus causing strain to their relationship with their parents, saying they've done everything they can, so you decide to help them giving them solutions to their every problem and lending them an ear and they'd be saying that those solutions are too tedious (even whey the littlest solutions can make such a huge progress) and that they're too lazy for that but then they'd be there posting 24/7 random, useless sexual topics, memes and rants, and playing games for HOURS. Love for me is where you help and guide the people you love to change their behaviors (that they constantly complain about) and grow and mature for once. Just because you love someone, you shouldn't be complied to show that love with physical affection, gifts, words of affection and compliance. Sometimes, love can be received and show by helping people improve their lives, and I think this goes unrecognized because people want to be shown love straight on and be said, done directly, but it genuinely doesn't have to be that way. I think this is also the reason why most people go unrecognized for their love because if it does not go along with what the receiver wants to receive, it would be left unrecognized and be considered annoying (much less irritating). This can be observed from how our parents quite literally provide us with everything and yet most of the time, their children don't see that and consider every guidance as an annoyance and hindrance to THEIR happiness, thinking of what they want and not what they actually NEED. Love is where you motivate the people you love to do better in their lives and not waste away their youth with things they're going to regret later on. That's all ☺️
its giving Lunar, Revati (and broadly Mercurial), UBP, Deva gana nak vibes 🤔

Listen guys, alright? It's gonna be about election day, but it's important. So...keep it in mind? Its a bit of a rant I feel, but it needs to be said.
This year is my first election year (I already voted, as early voting is a thing.) And what a hell of a year it is, right? I shouldn't need to tell you who to vote for, ideally it should be whoever you think is the best fit to run the country (and keeping it a constitutional republic/democracy, but I digress)
And personally? While I don't think you're entirely terrible if you don't vote because you don't care for politics (that specific reasoning is what I'm upset with btw), I think I have to remind you of something.
Politics aren't like sports.
It should be so obvious, yet it doesn't seem to be. I have a friend who I care for deeply, and they refuse to vote, not because they don't think either option is a good one, or because they're unable to for disability reasons or due to age or whatnot. They won't vote because "politics isn't my thing." They had literally went out of their way to tell me they weren't going to vote because they don't like politics. Well guess what? I don't like politics either. It's gonna take me a while to fully get myself 'into' politics. It confuses me half the time, bores me most of the time, and it gets me upset if I find something that particular makes me mad. But, I still voted. Why? Because while I'm not "into" politics, politics are going to be a huge part of my life, a part of my family's life, a part of my friends lives, a part of a stranger halfway across the world's life, everyone is affected my politics in one way or another.
I'm not going to be affected by sports. I don't like sports, I can avoid sports in most of my life, and it's not going to risk whether or not you can afford groceries at the table. If I miss a football game on TV (American Football or otherwise) I'm not going to potentially lose the ability to get married because if I get married my partner makes too much money so I can't get money I need to survive just because Team A won by scoring a goal in overtime due to Team B fumbling the ball. If I don't watch a sports game, it isn't the end of the world. I miss nothing important, all I miss is a conversation topic of "oh did you see that fumble Team B had made?"
You definitely have people who love politics. I have a friend who's especially into politics, it's one of their special interests, trying to see how the opposite side thinks, what's their mindset? You have people who don't want to talk about politics at all, and think that it's stupid and shouldn't be prevalent. But politics aren't stupid. Politics are very important to our life, due to the fact that political actions can lead to our lives changing. Gay people getting the right to be married was gained from politics, and some disabled people not having the ability to get married due to losing life saving money is also a political matter. You don't lose or gain rights from a football match. You do if you don't pay attention to politics.
If you decide to not vote because you're well informed and you don't think either candidate is a good fit, I don't hate you, even though I am stressing the importance of voting. Why? After all it would seem those reasons are very similar reasons. But, not really. Actively deciding not to vote because you don't like either candidate is actually a vote. (Albeit I do feel like you should still vote, it's not just presidential election on the ballot after all, but I'm mainly talking about presidental.) If you actively are deciding that neither candidate is good, and therefore you aren't going to vote for either one, that's actively voting in my eyes. (I do disagree with the sentiment, but I also disagree with one of the major political parties' nominees, due to many many things, and people still voted for the worse candidate) And obviously, if you aren't old enough to vote, I don't blame you for not voting, because you can't change your age. (And other scenarios that cause you to be unable to vote, I don't blame you for not voting.)
The only people I truly have an issue with (when it comes to not voting) are those who aren't voting because "they don't like politics" and "I don't care enough." Because like...that's just one of the worst takes to possibly have. You aren't voting for neither candidate as a deliberate choice, you're doing so out of ignorance, and it's delibrate too. Granted, I don't hate anyone who votes one way or another, (although I do think if you vote for the candidate I happen to think is very anti-american, I think you're anti-american and will probably keep that in mind as I interact with you)
So now that my rants over, I wanna know, who did you guys/will you guys vote for

I saw your post about Achilles and Patroclus (the one for the ask game) and it was really interesting, I like the points you made and I enjoyed reading it, but I have a question about Achilles' bloodlust before Patroclus' death: what about what he did to Troilus? This happens before Patroclus' death in most accounts, so Achilles is very brutal with it for someone, who says he prefers to ransom the Trojans rather than kill them.
Yes, Troilus had to die, if the Achaeans wanted to win the war, but his death didn't have to be so brutal. Furthermore, Achilles kills him in a sanctuary (Apollo's temple) with no regard for the consequences, and then throws the kid's head to Hector and a few other of his brothers (there are also even more severe versions about what Achilles did to this kid before and/or after killing him)
And then there's Polyxena, who usually is accompanying Troilus and gets kidnapped (and most likely r*ped) by Achilles after he kills her brother. In some versions she was partially the cause of Achilles' death, setting up his ambush by her brothers in Apollo's temple (which in my opinion seems like her way of avenging Troilus' death).
And then the ghost of Achilles demands her sacrifice (either as revenge to her revenge or because he still wants to have her, or both, 'm not sure), otherwise the Achaeans wouldn't be able to leave Troy.
I'm really curious about your thoughts on what Achilles did to these two.
(The argument about the Iliad characters is never ending and there are tons of different takes and opinions. I'm not trying to pick up an argument, I just want to hear you take on this, maybe what versions of these myths you prefer, why do you think Achilles acted the way he did and how does it fit in his characteristic you wrote previously?)
hellooo yeah so first and foremost obviously due to the nature of mythology it's always going to be kind of impossible to have, like, one unified "version" of a character that brings together every depiction of them throughout history, as you said. i think every storyteller is going to add something to a figure that doesn't necessarily mesh with every other depiction. it's like spiderman. it's for that reason that in that post (i had to go read it again lol i forgot exactly what i said but im pretty sure) i only talked about events that happened in or were referred to in the iliad. i.. clearly.. dont have a very good memory so i could very much be wrong about this but i dont think polyxena is mentioned in the iliad and troilus is only mentioned by name, i don't thiiiiiink the story of his death is relayed? i could be wrong! but yeah all of which is to say if my characterisation of achilles seems inconsistent with other myths, it sometimes might just be because it simply is. i dont try to account for every myth bc i would explode into a shower of snails
that said though i think in this instance we can find a compatibility. my point in that post wasn't that achilles isn't ever bloodthirsty or brutal, only that he shouldn't be defined by his bloodlust. quoting my own post bc again i had to go reread it
it's not that he isn't violent or hasn't killed or that he has reservations about taking lives
it's uncontroversial that he committed a lot of pretty heinous acts and clearly has the capacity for great cruelty and does not really weigh kindness or compassion or charity as a major factor in his decision-making. from my post again
he doesn't fight to kill, he fights to win. that's not hugely different in terms of the outcome, given it is in a war context where defeat and death tend to mean the same thing, but it IS different from a personality and character perspective, because it tells us achilles is at worst indifferent to human life rather than actually being driven by a desire to take it. better? worse? doesn't matter, not my point - just different.
achilles is more than happy to commit atrocities. it doesn't bother him to do so, morally. indifference to human life is sometimes indistinguishable from being outright driven by a desire to kill first and foremost. sometimes it's worse. achilles kind of does what he wants - he enjoys excelling at things - he excels at killing. so, stands to reason he might take a particularly brutal or bloodthirsty action if he feels like it. im putting the rest of this under a cut because it got long again
achilles choosing to ransom lycaon isn't proof that he is a merciful soul. it's just that he isn't at war for the love of making war and ending lives in and of itself. he absolutely does not give a shit about lycaon at all as an individual. if someone doesnt have to die, he might decide to let them go (vs someone who's in this because they love killing and therefore would just kill anyway). or he might kill them. if someone DOES have to die, achilles wouldn't go out of his way to make it a kind end. he might if he feels like it. but he might not. the bottom line is he can be bloodthirsty, but that's not his core driving trait. he's not in this to kill, he's in this to win and to be remembered for it. the killing is incidental (if he wins enough then it doesn't matter if his victims survive or not), so it'll happen or it won't and it doesn't really matter to him. so yeah, a plea for mercy might work on him better than it might work on someone who really actively wants to kill people because maybe he has no particular stake in killing them, which is why ive said he isn't fundamentally driven by bloodlust. but like if achilles thinks it might be fun to kill someone in a brutal way, no voice in his head is gonna be like Whoa there champ! How about not doing that? bc his reasons for not killing aren't ethical concerns, it's just a byproduct of what drives him. this is a fine distinction i know but i think it's important. again im not arguing (and wont ever) that achilles is a good moral figure, it's more just about understanding who he is. the killing isn't his goal hence why hes willing to ransom trojan soldiers moreso than the other greeks but if he DOES kill he's probably also going to do it more brutally than others again because his reasons were never rooted in morality to begin with
basically in terms of how im able to marry my view of achilles not being driven by bloodlust with the fact that he does objectively violent and brutal acts, i think those things are compatible with each other bc he can be bloodthirsty without that being the core driving force of his character and the thing that makeshim what he is. does that make sense? the issue i was railing against specifically w that post was that he tends to be depicted as a guy who just wants to fight kill bite kill blood blood blood and i think he DOES act like that guy but that's not the be all and end all of him. killing is incidental to winning, but he can take it or leave it - what i refer to as the breakdown of achilles' character following patroclus' death is the transition in achilles from "i want to win, and i'll kill to make that happen" to "i want to kill for the sake of killing" it stops being about glory and starts being about destruction and pain
#fundamentally i read achilles as being kind of driven by his whims and instincts#and devoted to fairness in the abstract but not all that concerned with grounded human things#so not particularly empathetic in most scenarios (though not incapable of empathy as the scene w priam shows)#i bet i repeated myself a bunch in this very sorry i wrote it in a big rush#rookposting#iliad

Unpopular opinion: The Rising of The Shield Hero was never good.
I see a lot of people claim that season 1 was peak and had incredible writing only to fall during seasons 2 and 3 but that's just being generous.
Season 1 is as bad as the other two in terms of writing,plot and characters.
Don't get me wrong, I understand why people thought TROTSH was a good anime and dare I say a good isekai, because it had a unique premise and an interesting start.
The main character may be your typical 20 year old college student, average af but that didn't matter in the beginning because of the circumstances he found himself in.
Naofumi didn't have a stereotypical sword or any other weapon to fight with, he had a shield and that's it. From the very beginning he was stuck with a defense item that can barely deal any damage and wasn't allowed to hold an actual offence weapon.
He got framed for a crime he didn't commit and thus was shunned and hated by everyone around him, he was utterly alone and couldn't trust anyone.
Heck, even when he bought Raphtalia I let it pass because at that time it felt like the Shield Hero was subverting the slavery trope: The MC doesn't buy a slave just because he can or to "save" them and said slave is not some hot girl with huge melons in a tight dress. Naofumi buys Raphtalia because he wants someone to fight for him, as a shield holder he can only protect but that isn't enough to survive in this world, especially if you are alone,so not only does he need someone on the offense he needs someone who will not betray him but considering his circumstances this is impossible.
This is why buying a slave in this scenario is understandable, still extremely messed up but it's either that or death.
Basically the whole anime felt revolutionary at that time because it wasn't your stereotypical power fantasy isekai. Too bad it became one only a few episodes later.
Naofumi's party consists of two female slaves that he bought and another 10 year old girl. His other allies are the queen herself and a magical bird that is basically a loli. Even if Naofumi isn't trying to build a harem the situation makes it look like he has one a thing that becomes not so subtle in later seasons.
Despite being unable to attack, having no knowledge of rpg games and having children in his party Naofumi is somehow stronger than the other heroes who can attack, have rpg knowledge and have capable fighters in their parties.
Even if the three stooges think of the world as a game they still shouldn't be this incompetent.
Not only is Naofumi the strongest person in this world he is also the smartest. There isn't a moment where someone is more capable than him,no one manages to outsmart him and when things get tough the biggest Deus ex Machina ( aka the rage shield) saves the day.
Everyone who is against him is pure evil and an incompetent idiot and all of his allies are clever and strong individuals ready at his beck and call.
Long story short TROTSH is not some revolutionary isekai that subverts expectations. It's just a other self fulfilling fantasy like the rest of its burthen with wasted potential.

And now for something completely different: a random product review!
This is a Port Authority Xcape BG100 computer backpack, with print-on-demand customization by Spreadshirt/Spreadshop. In the US, it retails for $27+tax from Mozilla's apparently-official merch shop, which regularly has free shipping promotions.
Now, first off, and importantly when considering this an ostensible piece of branded merchandise: the Firefox Aurora logo (now Nightly, but I'm sure you can see why Aurora was the original name/branding) that I picked here is apparently a terrible choice for generic print-on-demand, since the teal color it fades to at the upper right is probably way too saturated to be printable with a lot of processes. Mozilla probably shouldn't offer this design on this product, and I can't say anything about how good Spreadshirt's print accuracy is based on this.
That being said, in this particular case I don't actually care about this at all; if you just told me the result is a random (natural-gas-flame-themed?) alternative colorway for the Firefox logo I'd believe you:
Now, on to more practical matters. This product is, for some reason, $27. The same backpack on Amazon, without customization, is... $32. The bottom-of-the-barrel Amazon Basics backpack that appears when I search "backpack" on Amazon is $24. We're not talking about some $250 LTT bullshit here; the bar is somewhere around "it doesn't suck," and it definitely doesn't suck.
Size is important. I wouldn't call this a huge bag in length and width, but the claimed 7" depth seems about right and makes for a pretty voluminous interior. The angle shown on the sale page rather undersells the depth; the manufacturer's image might oversell it a bit (that one's pretty stuffed) but I would call it a reasonable, practical size.
The laptop pocket is described as fitting "most 17" laptop computers," and I think that's about right, maybe a bit optimistic considering how huge a 17" gaming laptop is these days. A typical 16" gaming laptop should fit fine (not going to bother to borrow my friend's to try it unless someone asks). I don't put my laptop directly in my bag, though, I put it in a sleeve, and a 16" M1 Macbook Pro in a padded sleeve just fits through the side zipper, which is what I need it to do, so, hey. I would call it minimally padded; I haven't tried other tech backpacks so I don't know what the standard is here but I would not want to put my laptop in without a sleeve. The separate laptop compartment and sleeve are more than it looks like you get on a lot of cheap backpacks, though.
Besides that, there are half-height and full-height flat front pockets, one with an organizer (with a zippered mesh; manufacturer pic is a bit old), and then the one big main compartment. No comments here; that's about how I'd do it. It's not much organization, but a lot of space efficiency if you're packing e.g. clothes. The zipper for the large compartment is angled, as you can see in the pic, which I think is smart. The elastic water bottle mesh pockets on the sides seem to work (my old bag's weren't deep enough and so the bottle would fall out, making them functionally useless; they probably should have angled the ones on this bag a little less but I think they're secure enough).
Build quality seems perfectly adequate; I can find no cut corners or anything chintzy, which is saying a lot for merch. Handling it, I'd easily believe you if you told me this was $60+ (and maybe it was when it came out in, I think, 2018). Zippers are large enough and smooth (plastic coil; metal body); strap padding and ventilation are reasonable; back padding and ventilation are rather good. The plastic top handle is a nice touch. (I might avoid using it if you filled the bag with something really, really dense; because of that angled zipper the handle attach point isn't on the strongest part of the bag, but whatever).
I have the "charcoal" color, which is a subtle two-tone. I wasn't sure if the grey would be very light, which wouldn't look great IMHO; the color is actually on the darker side, certainly darker than those photos depending on light angle, and really just makes it read as a black backpack that someone put significant effort designing some visual depth into. The use of multiple material pieces and angled stitching does look quite sharp; looking at it, I'd probably believe you if you told me it was $120?
So, in conclusion, uh... I dunno. I can't immediately think of anything I would change about it, and while I haven't tried any other competing products, it seems better-designed, better-looking, and less expensive than other similar things you could buy, and I guess it's also technically Firefox (or whatever else you want if you just go on Spreadshirt) merch.
Buy used stuff, obviously, when you can, and consider more environmentally friendly fabrics or whatever. But other than that, yeah, sure, if you need a backpack go buy this. It's cheaper than the price bump for a year of ad-free Tumblr, so that's something.

By all means if he wants to step away from music go ahead. I support him and I think he should be able to do as he pleases career wise. He shouldn’t be tied down to one thing forever. All artists grow and flourish. For example Rihanna and its Fenty beauty and Savage lingerie. Beyoncé with hair care and clothing. Lizzo with workout gear. 50 with movies and shows. I think he should be able to move in and do other and possibly bigger things that he sees for weather that be Moms spaghetti, production, or merch. But if he wants to do merch he needs to step it tf up. Because it’s all the same and it’s getting boring. Do a real menswear like. Do some new hat brand. Or focus on expanding his Resturant or team up with 50 for moves and shows or even put MORE energy into his record label because it could use it if he wants to do producing and not necessarily rapping on the mic.
And yea, he should hear his fans out. They are a big pet as to why he’s here and thriving. And no offense but especially the younger ones now. He had a whole new generation listening to him. He can either use it to his advantage and make another album or not. But to be putting merch out every week is crazy. Because who is keep that man in business? 🤨
As for footnote, I heard that Paul wanted him to do it because Paul’s SON plays the game and he got the idea from that so they r ached out to fortnite… but Paul isn’t Marshall. Why does he have to collab with Fortnite because of your son and you think it’s a good money maker? Marshall doesn’t belong in a kids game period. If anything they should’ve tried to get him to voice in GTA6 or have his music in the game somehow… that would been HUGE for him considering the gta situation with him from back in the day.
And I feel like he’s gonna lose that lawsuit. And tbh I HOPE he does. It’s stupid. I get you wanna go hard for your daughter but babes… they were a podcast first. They been around for a while. No one is confusing the two. Plus, if Hailie cares so much then she needs to be a big girl and sue them herself. Oh wait she can’t because she doesn’t even have permission to use the term shade by legality. Oop- and we all know he wouldn’t sue his own daughter. But I digress.
I feel like all of it is just Paul getting in his ear and it’s bad. The lawsuit is ruining his reputation and he’s just doing things no one cares about anymore. Like get it together please.
YES. I absolutely agree. Eminem has had an incredible career and if he wanted to stop, he should. By all means. If he wants to bless us with more music, I'm here for it too, obviously. But I feel like maybe there should be a proper way to do it. Like, if you want to stop, maybe announce it and quit keeping people on their toes ?
Also I LOVE the examples you have chosen, when it comes to artists expanding and doing something else successfully. Also... Shady Records COULD use some more energy. I think I saw something from Paul saying it was never meant to be a big thing anyway, but... If you're signing people, maybe put some actual energy into their projects ? Because you're not doing them a favor by pretending the musical industry works the same as the 90s and disregarding digital promotion. Just sayin...
I hate that they seem to be disregarding the newer generation of hip hop fans too. Like "your opinion doesn't matter, we've been here long enough". Like... Yeah but they're still the consumer base and even though they shouldn't tell you what rap is all about... Maybe just acknowledge that it is changing ? Also, these people do keep you afloat 😂
Em in GTA6 would have been perfect. And I'm digressing but I think not having him do voice actor work on some occasions (like some animated series or a video game) is a MISSED opportunity. Because very few people modulate their voice the way he does his.

🌞🌷
- 👜
From this Summertime Writers' Ask game.
🌞 favourite character from current wip
Steeb. Always Steve. (It's Hideout Steve at the moment, which, we all know, is just top-notch, sexiest Steeb. Can't beat touch-starved Nomad...)
🌷 writing achievement you want to brag about
Um. I am the world's worst self-promoter.
I...I write? I haven't finished anything much recently. Honestly, I don't know what to say.
This is probably a good lesson for me as a person with chronic depression and anxiety because this is what my brain does--it just erases all the accomplishments and waters down all the progress and justifies all the struggling. Somehow I took too long, it shouldn't have been that hard, I didn't do my best, or my best isn't good enough.
There probably are a lot of things I...
See, I can't even type "things I did right" or "things I did well."
I was raised not to brag, not even to take credit, except I was also taught to excel, and if I didn't excel, I failed. That's really f**king hard, y'all! How the hell am I supposed to excel at something if I can't practice and get better??? I'm just supposed to do things 100% perfectly the first time. Every time.
Ya know what? That's the brag:
I still do this. I still write because I actually love it. I love getting better. I love learning from people way better at this than me. This is fun, and it doesn't matter to me if it 'goes anywhere' or I 'get anything' from it in real/professional/public life. I've found something I enjoy enough to not care about that other stuff.
Honestly, that is a huge deal for me. I am proud of that.
Thank you for asking!

hi again!! wishing you a really good week, and thanking the stars for having sent you my last ask; thank you so much for your reply!!! got so excited reading it, your words, taking your time to reply me, it really means the world to me..!!
"there's meaning in everything but if only we choose to create it in the face of the existential dread that is the chaos of the human experience" ohmmmfff!!!
loved that you got so Jungian with your reply, really into it and always curious about it!
"Gege has created a character that is a container for exploring ourselves creatively" yes!!!! not only Megumi got me thinking about the consequences of undermining myself, but also the implications of not asking for help, risking everything to save someone else, and asking myself who is worthy of being saved. even if doing everything you can to save someone you love is very admirable, i think Megumi creates this *illusion* to himself that he has the power to both save and decide who should be saved, and i can relate to that. at the same time, he doesn't seem to deem himself worthy of saving, disregarding his own life many times... i've been wondering for some time now: if for Megumi there are the good people, who should be saved no matter what it costs, and the bad people, who shouldn't be saved, while he himself doesn't seem to value his own life/finds it hard to ask for help... then which one of these, "bad" or "good", is he (to himself)? what does Megumi think he is worthy of, what does he think he deserves in his life?
"I wasn't scared to face what I saw in myself". i think this is a really really powerful process in our lives that Megumi's character can bring to surface - by us being open to it.
and i can see him going through *the tip* of this process, specifically after his first killing in the culling games, when he asks himself "what am i doing?".
"You made me realize I want to see him believe in himself again. When Megumi believes in himself, literal magic happens. (...) I cannot wait to see Megumi wreck Sukuna from the inside." holy sh*t yeah!!!!
i'm trying hard to trust Gege in showing us more about Megumi as he "re-negotiates this new philosophy about himself." cause i think, if not before, now this process is even more inevitable.
"I personally love how Gege has gone out of his way to show how immature Megumi is compared to other characters who share the same trope." yes!!!! that's a huge part of why i am so invested in Megumi. with the first glimpses of his philosophy about the world and himself, in the very beginning of the manga, i thought "damn you'll really have to reconfigure all of this and it. will. be. painful. and i'm here to see you deeply change your way of thinking - growing. bc it will be for the best, and it is inevitable".
i LOVED the list you made about the aspects you want to see Megumi grow in. really good!!!!
"I want to see him get pissed off, like really pissed off and fed up with his fate, and I want to see how that changes him and what he makes of it." shit. this is IT!!!
"And then maybe perhaps come to realize, once again, that he can't manipulate others because they too have a free will of their own." this is really hard, coming to terms with our limitations in regards to our own power... can be tough. it is tough. but once we realize it, it also starts to work the other way around: we too have a free will of our own, that's why we can say "fuck this fate", i'll make the best of it with what i can do, and i won't have to be alone through it.
"I may be projecting here but... Megumi's manipulative tendencies and the way he relates to others, it feels like it comes from a place in which his inner-child has not learned that it does not need to do anything to fulfill his need to be loved. Megumi is beloved, and its a real tragedy that he hasn't figured that out about himself." i... i actually cried hard reading this, thank you so much for your reply, jt really means the world to me, all of it, thank you so much for reading my ask and taking your time, your words and analysis are really powerful and much needed!!! this was a blessing to read, thank you thank you 🙌🙌🙌 !
ps: have you seen/read Monster? yesterday i cried watching this really good scene where the main character - who i think shares a lot of personality traits with Megumi, despite the huge differences - is told by an old man about how he lost the blessing of being close to this forest's birds after killing someone there. a bird lands in the main character's arm and the old man gets really emotional, and promises the bird that there won't ever be blood spilled in the forest again. Monster deals a lot with themes like saving/killing people too... xxx!
hola hola ♥️!
aaaaaah, te escribo en español por que sé que de una manera u otra me entiendes aunque sea un poco. Que linda! Obrigado por tus comentarios tan bonitos 🥺. Me da gusto saber que mis palabras tuvieron algún impacto en ti.
Ok back to English because even though Portuguese is very similar to Spanish I don't want to confuse you more lol.
My reply to you under the cut...
i think Megumi creates this *illusion* to himself that he has the power to both save and decide who should be saved, and i can relate to that. at the same time, he doesn't seem to deem himself worthy of saving, disregarding his own life many times
oh I love this observation about Megumi *thinking* he has the power to save others. It's like trying to grasp at air or water truly.
Also, the fact that Megumi does not look after himself is one of the most tragic things about him.
which one of these, "bad" or "good", is he (to himself)? what does Megumi think he is worthy of, what does he think he deserves in his life?
I'd say he doesn't think he's worthy of anything good?
This is why I love Megumi--as a character he's a great example of a clinical application of Psychology. A kid who is abandoned is likely to grow up with a very similar mindset as Megumi.
and i can see him going through *the tip* of this process, specifically after his first killing in the culling games, when he asks himself "what am i doing?".
Megumi is an interesting character to me because he, literally and figuratively, represents the Jungian shadow. Basically, his character is a repository for everything we don't like and deny about ourselves.
A theme that has been consistent in Megumi's character is the dichotomy between good and evil and how he rejects both aspects in himself.
Also, not sure if you've noticed how people only see Megumi's actions during the Culling Game as "self-preservation". To me, this is trying to justify his actions with logic because fandom can't fathom Megumi is anything other than a good person.
Truly, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
So I love what you've said here because it shows Megumi growing from coming to terms with the extremes within him and acknowledging what he did wasn't exactly good or bad.
i actually cried hard reading this
ah! totally did not mean to make you cry, my bad. But yeah... very relatable, isn't it?
The wound at the core of existence...
thank you so much for reading my ask and taking your time, your words and analysis are really powerful and much needed!!! this was a blessing to read, thank you thank you 🙌🙌🙌 !
🫣 you're so kind and I too am grateful for your kind words to me. Thank you for reading my nerderies. I am grateful to know anyone ever finds them powerful and much needed. Makes me want to continue writing. I like the idea of being able to help others have moments of insight about their own nature through my words.
Kind of interesting how I am a Jungian author... just about anime and manga loooool.
ps: have you seen/read Monster?
I have not! I think ma 🍒 has? I gotta ask her because she keeps mentioning an old manga that she loves and finds very impactful. Might add it to my ever growing, never ending queue of manga to read.
OBRIGADO again for all the kind words and for reaching out! Hope to continue hearing from you 🙏🏼.

Ok, really cool idea that probably can never be implemented in the real world because of the ethics around ai, so leave this in a vacuum as an interesting idea that we maybe even could do but sadly probably shouldn't because of unscrupulous people
So hear me out, horror game with proximity chat where the monster (probably using ai) listens to your voices and over time starts mimicking you
Better yet if the mimicking starts out bad, but over time does a better and better job
Similarly I suppose it's model could go from something deformed and bestial to more and more looking human
I just really like the idea of someone hiding there, and their friend walks up and is like "Hey, you in here? I'm pretty sure I lost it, come on out" and you're having to debate if that's actually your friend or if that's the monster mimicking them
...I suppose literally the only way that you could ethically do this is if the game hard dumped the data after every game since having a phase where it's not good at mimicking would be important
But you get the dilemma, right?
You tell me that isn't a fantastically cool idea and an actually interesting use of rapid modeling to quickly compile a profile on someone's voice and mannerisms in order to mimic them where the rough start and the ways machine learning can mess up and be inhuman is actually a benefit rather than a hindrance
...but then you tell me that isn't one of the worst most scary ideas from an ethics point of view, cause even if you play it totally above board somehow you tell me someone's not gonna try and swipe that tech to do evil shit with it
Sounds like a kick ass game though, doesn't it?
...once again, you can have it if you like it so long as you kick some of the money back my way if you make it big... cause I think you could make it huge... but like... this is one of the rare ideas where I'm saying probably no one should do this no matter how incredible an idea it is
Edit: I think I'm gonna turn off reblogs for two reasons... for one... this is a really fucking good idea and I think I've hit on a real winner of an idea that could blow the fuck up on steam and make a lot of money if I used it... and I like money
But two... fuck, you tell me this isn't unethical as fuck even if it's purely meant in a positive and wholesome way
It would basically be built on deepfakes style stuff which... hard not to call it bad an dangerous, and while it probably wouldn't advance rapid modeling technology in any meaningful way... I don't know... you get what I mean, right?
It sucks, this is an awesome and ethical use of ai, but it doesn't exist in a bubble
It's sort of like how there's valid and even beneficial uses to facial recognition software, but there's so many horrible uses that it's probably better to highly regulate if not outright ban it
So yeah, no reblogs I think... just to be safe... both to protect my chance at being the one to profit off opening another layer in this Pandora's box, and cause it's dangerous and needs to be carefully considered

Cw: vent
Vent time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mk11 doesn't have plotholes
IT HAVE PLOT CHASMS. PLOT ABYSSES.
Plots so huge,so confusing,so stupid. It makes the old sub zero mythologies,and special forces side games look like decent plots.
The only thing good about it is the og actor is back as shang but even then it's still painful.
9,story is garbage. But the gameplay is amazing.
10,gameplay is out of this world. Story is mid,horrible for some characters but solid main big boss. Online i heard is better than 11. But i hate online competitive gameplay. It kinda sucks the fun away. And not worth it. Plus the amount of guest characters because they killed half the roster. It's ridiculous. And unnecessary. So yeah.
11. *breathes in*. 11. Again they knew the story was crap,half baked. So they made a whole ass expansion to a lukewarm story nobody cared for. To retcon a retcon THEY MADE. And guess what? It's that "we are gonna take everything you love about this series and take a huge fat shit on it. For profit" if you like shang tsung,you may love 11. But even then it feels off. But again thats the best they can do. And you damn well we ain't gonna have this again. If there ever will be a 12. Because at this point im not so sure. And honestly i don't care if they dont make a 12.
It would be a shame. But honestly I'd rather take a non canon ACTUALLY GOOD MK GAME. no bullshit. No fillers. No guest characters. No micro transactions. Just a good ol fashioned mk game. Pick a character,pick an arena,and fight. No complicated over explained story. Simple and to the point. Let the audience and players make a story. Or at least,bring back the spirit of mk. Bring back the ACTUAL CHOOSE YOUR DESTINY part in mk,with more than 2 choices. More than "good" vs "evil" actually have real constructive morally grey areas. Like it's not that hard.
Like get better writers. Fr.
Wattpad has better writers than you NRS.
WATTPAD!
You had 30yrs to get it right. 30!
Almost as old as i am.
Fr. No excuses. You are a decent,multibillion company. Or at very least a professional one. Your servers should be always up to date. You should have things actually in a row. The basics at least.
Like there is no excuses on being sloppy.
This isn't just about mk. This is also from a business perspective.
If you know your story isnt solid. Get better writers. Or tell your writers to stop relying on dumb tropes. And have actual creativity.
You can make things modern without pandering.
You can have nods to nostalgia without pandering too.
Subtle is better.
Cheeky one liners you cant rely on.
If the motives aren't solid. Then things fall apart.
Like they knew that if they dont bring back shang tsung as a big bad boss. It would suck.
Because how can they top corrupt form shinnok. Let's be honest....that was badass.
Nothing was ever really changed. And its a waste of time.
We get nothing but absolute perfection from tagawa's performance. But other then him. Mk11 is weak af.
So again. You like cary hiroyuki tagawa? Good. You're in luck. You like shang tsung? He's the man of the hour.
If you like anything else,anybody else,NRS said fuck you.
Which sucks. Because as a shang tsimp. It pisses me off that that's all they relied on.
And they can't pull that shit again. Because people will know. They already probably do.
They rely on cheap gimmicks,to prey on non mk fans,new fans who haven't touched mk in their whole ass existence and are just getting into it,and y'all fall for it. Because people seem to have short attention spans and need their gatcha fix no matter how poor quality.
Like im sorry. Even if you are new. Have better standards in storytelling. This is a professional company. They shouldn't be worse then us fans telling fart jokes in a fanfic about silly fighting game characters in colorful jammies.
Im just saying.
Im done venting now.
Also - based on my own experience working at game stores - companies actually don't do much of a bigger run for main characters over side characters. There might be a slight difference, but not much.
Which means there might not be as many Woody dolls over Stinky Pete dolls as you'd expect.
On top of that, only a hardcore collector would care about Stinky Pete down the road. So while there might not be many, there's also not a high demand for it either.
Then taking into the above's point about wear and tear from play - most kids probably weren't buying Stinky Pete. Only a handful, and the rest sold probably went to the kind of people who just buy full sets. Meaning it was way easier for them to mostly stay in good shape.
Popular characters are generally way harder to get because no one ever bought them for the purpose of reselling. They were bought to be played with, and to be kept. Even Andy wants to keep his Woody, he doesn't care what value he might have to a collector. No matter how saturated a market might be with a character, desirability will continue to make it difficult to find.
But the biggest thing is about versions.
See, most companies that have a main character they want to keep selling over time don't just keep selling the exact same toy over and over. Kids don't want to just keep getting a new woody that is identical to the old one, and parents certainly don't either.
But what if next Christmas there's a Woody with a different colored costume? Or new voice lines? What if the next Woody has other special accessories?
The market doesn't have to be saturated with one type of Woody doll when they could instead release a new Woody every other year to keep people buying them. Which means having this Woody could be a huge deal.
It would be like saying "Barbie is such a popular character, you can get them at garage sales for pennies" but most are butchered, and the ones you find for pennies are nothing compared to finding an original Barbie. Just because they all are 'barbies' doesn't mean they're equal.
Stinky Pete may not have sold well, and might have even taken some trouble to find and purchase. But it was never going to be that difficult, and certainly not costly. But an original run Woody doll? One that has been remade it worse versions over and over, that should have fallen apart years ago, that shouldn't have been found in such good condition so easily? That's amazing.
What he says: im fine
What he means: in Toy Story 2 Woody is treated as the rarest of the toys from Woody’s Roundup when he’s the main character of the show. That would mean he would have had a higher production number than any of his costars, and in fact probably would have been made for the longest and earliest of the toy line. Stinky Pete, by being the fan unfavorite, must have had a smaller run, and less of his toys would have survived in the 50s as kids would have needlessly damaged or destroyed him making him the rarest of the group and Woody the most common. If anything, the plot of Toy Story 2 should have revolved around Al stealing Woody’s hat as it would have been the item most sought after by collectors as it’s easily lost and not attached to an otherwise common doll. Fundamentally, Al’s apartment should have been littered with Woody dolls in various states of damage, all missing hats and maybe a handful of decent condition Woody dolls needing a hat while Stinky Pete is the rarest and most expensive as a collectors item.
i think this question is stupid but, without a single doubt in my mind: 😼
14. assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
miniskirts and crop tops. and shorts that show his ass. and a g string. and
15. what's your favorite ship for this character? (doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)
just anders/hawke (either gender for hawke but M hawke is what i imagine), i don't really think about the companions dating outside of the pre-existing relationships (like iron bull/dorian). but i don't really think DA2 has many good options for him anyways, so unless he's making out with some random fucking NPC that only says "i'm so hungry and it's so dirty down here" i don't think he's getting anything
16. what's your least favorite ship for this character?
fenris/anders. i already said my reasons.
17. what's a ship for this character you don't hate but it's not your favorite.
i like, almost never see any other ship honestly. i guess i did see a threesome fic that i liked with isabela, but they weren't a thruple they were just fucking lol
18. how about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?
i think this question is worded so strangely. but i think a lot about justice and anders relationship a lot, and honestly karl and anders relationship too. i just lay here and go , man .
19. how about a relationship they have in canon that you don't like?
need i say it again. also, him and aveline should just relax a bit more tbhtbh
20. which other character is the ideal best friend for this character? the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter.
honestly i still think DA2 anders should be best friends with oghren. not that he WOULD be, but that he should be
21. if you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? what's something you don't like?
i literally only write porn fics of DA characters. (i have not shared them anywhere because they are old ass WIPs from like, ages ago.)
buuuut i don't like making him blond and i like melding his awakening personality and DA2 personality together because it's just what makes the most sense to me.
22. if you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to this character? what's something you don't like?
pretty much same as above, and also the whole cis thing. i really cannot believe people don't see him as a nasty tranny
23. favorite picture of this character?
his concept art.
24. what's another character from a different fandom that reminds you of them?
uhhhh. probably nobody right now.
i haven't played BG3 but i've HEARD (from fandom spaces) that gale is pretty similar to anders in a few different ways. but i've also heard (from friends who know nothing about DA) that they don't think i would like gale, so.....truly who is to say unless someone wants to buy me a $59.99 (+$4.50 in state tax) game so i can learn more
25. what was your first impression of this character? how about now?
when i went into DA2 i was about 15 and had only ever seen fenris/hawke and that was what i wanted. until i saw anders. and then it completely derailed my course and i went fucking crazy for him. and now i cant NOT date him
#dook dook#someone needs to tell me to shut up but i wont listen#i have strong opinions about fandom because i do not like fandom. especially in 2024 where everyone is 5x the amount of annoying#and i am a fucking hater#but yeah im still gonna tag this anyways. FUCK BITCHES#dragon age#dragon age 2#da2#da anders#dragon age anders#da2 anders#dragon age 2 anders#um. whatever#its a big block of text so its your fault if you open it
Mark Meadows it's like deep throat to Nixon and ironically they know each other fairly well that's right it's the same idiot but here's how it goes the same that they are saying that Mark Meadows to one of our people and that Trump is analogous to her son it's actual proof of their ultimate game and now really not supposed to read it like a magazine but here it is and Max doesn't seem to care and Justice not with it. So we're going to war with them and they're going to pay for the treatment too that's a winners it's very expensive for them what they're doing and they don't get it just good who the hell would want them to weasel out of it jesus. And they're saying it's Frank Castle and he's angry about it and we know it's not Frank Castle and they wouldn't do that and it is childish and gauche and so on but if we don't win the whole game we go through part of it and if you don't win we go through all of it and that's what we're saying the failure we're aware that's the penalty. If we fail. And we are about to make a major major move and just don't want to end up doing their plan in any way or failure is not an option. It sounds sick it sounds trite it sounds very childish but when you're going through it it just sounds awful and her son goes through a lot of their criticism and treatment and says you don't want to they are disgusting vile idiotic perverts and they live for stuff like that and they don't live for much else. Today we say this this is the what the max intend to do so they put it into her son's face in this article and jammed it to him and it is to say to us this is what we're going to do and this is how we're going to do it and you won't be able to stop us it's very rude it's a very assuming bunch they do have a point where we're going to use it as motivation that if they succeed this is the way they behave this is what they would be doing and they be harming a lot of our people while they're doing this kind of malarkey
Thor Freya
Have fun to be so I couldn't keep looking at it. Finally I got over it and I decided to live through it and it decided to use it this morning and I got mad I said shouldn't be hiding from this we should look at it squared on and I found out that some of us were ignoring it completely I'm going after the people who are planning to do this and I found a ridge and I found certain people and we are now targeting them and they're not going to make it one of them is Mac Daddy and he's made huge mistakes recently that killed most people and he's making some big ones now with his own people and he's laughing at us and so forth and our sense as you shouldn't be laughing because even I can tell what it is and it's very serious you're stuck here with me trying to see what's funny unless you're giddy about it because it would make anybody giddy and instead it's not really getting this here and so in tune to everything and it sucks so bad and such big assholes so that's exactly why he's trying to get strong he says and that was Mac Daddy and he's talking to her son about it and about our son and his efforts to try and survive here and it's true too do something you can't just sit here and expect to win something and it is absolutely true that he's going to have a huge problem and he's got problems here already but he doesn't get it say it a lot and soon. So I'm going to get my list together and start working on it
Frank Castle Hardcastle
Olympus
Frank Castle Hardcastle has the best statement in the most powerful regarding this matter above and exactly what you need to do and we have done that in the past but not this aggressively and it would be a several major clans that we bring down and he will solicit help us I'm sure and he says yes but my point is that what we're doing tonight will support his effort and it is regarding huge ships and they can think what they want but that's part of it it's getting them out and we have our own angle that is very potent and our people know about it who are signed in the military and it will bring happiness and joy to you like it has a little bit to my wife which is hard to do
Zues
And I'm laughing and he says it's true and I noticed and I'm hard to please and I'm hard to make an impression on and it's hard to say things to me that make me feel better because my life is hard and I'm alone here and terrified a lot and now he's doing something finally that helps
Hera
We're going forwards but what he's doing and she's doing has helped us to get to this point and it is very very impressive and we are going to use it and it is wonderful
Thor Freya
We're proceeding tonight and we do appreciate the fact that Frank Castle Hardcastle had the best response but so if it was not for his work this kind of thing would not happen and if it wasn't for this kind of work his work would not happen it was going to look at that way it's going to be a thing of beauty and he thanks everybody it says this is absolutely true
