Top 10 Spinoffs that really need to happen
Hi, friends. I may not be a fan of cheap sequels or prequels we don't want, I do think spinoffs are underrated especially if they focus on characters that are beloved and have interesting stories to tell. I mean, look at the success of Star Wars' many series especially its two diamonds being Clone Wars and Andor. I was inspired to make this list after seeing the trailer of Daryl Dixon.
In this list, I will my top ten medias that could it even bigger if they make these specific spinoffs.
Tumblr media
Marvel's War Machine (Film/TV Series) - Nevermind Riri. Let's focus on this guy who was not only around long before her, but since the beginning. In time where we want more black representation than ever, I think War Machine is should be the next big thing. War Machine aka James Ruper "Rhodey" Rhodes is a decorated soldier to begin and Iron Man's right hand man. Despite the similar gimmick, his personality is much more serious, professional and mannerly. He can hold out on his own and he is a hero anyone of any type can look up to.
Tumblr media
2. Marvel's Mary Jane Watson (Mini Series) - While she started off as Gwen Stacey's replacement and would alter become Peter Parker's main woman, she has now come quite into her own. She has even gone on adventures of her own, has become more capable and even became an ally in action for Spider-Man. While the comics have gone sour, maybe TV can bring us back MJ and Spidey as not only a couple, but as equals who both have exciting stories to tell.
Tumblr media
3. Marvel's (REAL) Spider-Girl (TV Series/Film) - Speaking of TV redeeming MJ and Spidey as soul mates, last I remember, at one point, they were not only happily married, they had a daughter Mayday Parker who had the mantle passed down to her long before Miles Morales, the other Gwen Stacey (Spider-Woman) and all these other modern incarnations. She is a very underrated heroine who fell into obscurity no thanks to how Marvel broke up one of its most iconic couples. She needs to make a comeback because she is the true Spider-Girl in every way possible,
Tumblr media
4. Disney's Goofy kid's show (TV Series) - For a while, the Disney gang made a big comeback since Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and almost everyone got their own spinoff or reboot. Everyone, but Goofy which I find is a waste because unlike all the others with the exception of Pete, he actually is a father. So far, the only independent works Goofy has gotten are Goof Troop, the two Goofy Movies and two animated shorts in some holidays specials. I think Goofy can make for a great host in a kid's show because despite his goofiness, he is a very capable and in fact, wise father. He would be a lot like Mr. Rogers or Mr. Dress Up where instead just playing with kids, he's actually teaching them and even comforting them the way a father does.
Tumblr media
5. Resident Evil's Billy Coen (Video Game) - I don't think there's an RE fan out there who hasn't wished to see what became of this beloved one off character. Between you and me, I think he's still alive and kicking zombie, and I would love see what became of him after RE0. He not only came from one of the few prequel media out there that was great, but he is a total badass with a compelling backstory. We even got to see what happened to Sherry Birkin later one. I think Billy is more than worth a chance in the spotlight.
Tumblr media
6. Silent Hill's Heather Mason (Video Game) - I know what you're thinking, but hear me out. While she got her own game (technically, two if you count the first ever SH game), I don't believe her story should have ended with SH3. The Mason family is the closest thing to a true SH main protagonist as there is I would love to her a now adult Heather Mason still fighting the Order as it is still out there wreaking havoc. She was a great heroine and an underrated video game character in general.
Tumblr media
7. Jurassic Park for grown ups (TV Series) - It's had a few spinoffs so far and the only that is a big hit is Camp Cretaceous. I think another one should be made and this time, it should be aimed for adults. In the beginning, JP showed a lot of promise when it came to making adult oriented spinoffs with the comics and the sequel The Lost World, but after that, it became more and more about the action and less about the horror factor and dinosaurs. Even the revival trilogy of Jurassic World lacked that horror element that adults appreciated in the first two movies and most importantly, the book. We need to make a spinoff that is aimed for grown ups without it feeling like it wants to be Indiana Jones.
Tumblr media
8. DC's Batgirl (TV Series) - Nevermind Batwoman, Batgirl was around first AND she was solo before joining the bat family officially. I mean, even her father Jim Gordon got his own spinoff series before she did and she's actually a super. And apparently, her film never saw the light of day because it was not up to standard. I say, we make a TV series that does live up to standard AND we make it animated like we did Harley Quinn. Barbara Gordon set the standard for a lot lady supers came after her and she iconic. EVERYONE knows who Batgirl is. Even people who don't read comics know who Batgirl is. What I don't know is why she hasn't starred in her own solo media yet beyond comics.
Tumblr media
9. DC's Catwoman (Film/TV Series) - Speaking of iconic DC heroines, it is funny how one of its most iconic anti-heroines, love interest's to Batman and just recently, bisexual supers still hasn't gotten any independent media beyond her comics. If there's one woman who doesn't need no Batman (let alone man in general) to stand on her own two feet and have a compelling story to tell, it's her. The only thing we have gotten are two films. One which is imposter media starring Halle Berry and another no one knows about. Seline Kyle deserves so much more than that. I say she gets her own proper show or at the very least, a proper film. She's worth it.
Tumblr media
10. Capcom's Dino Crisis (Video Game) - I think this franchise only got one spinoff (two if you count the third instalment that went off the rails), and it wasn't a hit. Dino Crisis was clearly inspired by the original Jurassic Park especially when it came to horror and the feeling of being genuinely threatened by the dinosaurs. This game felt like the long lost twin sister of RE. With that said, it should get a spinoff because it's worth a last hurrah and who knows? It mind revive this lost gem of a series. I say we go for it and put our best foot forward doing it. Let it be true to the lore, the setting and theme. None of the dinos in space silliness.
Anyway, that is my list. What is your opinion on it? Would you like to see these spinoffs or can you suggest another? Let me know.
Thanks for reading and as always, stay safe.

my thoughts on different rebelde characters
jana
so my opinion on jana is a bit confusing. i don't dislike her unlike a lot of people in the fandom - tbh i like all characters in rebelde except for gus, sebas, kuri and anita - but her character arc in both seasons 1 and 2 revolved around her wanting to show people that she's not who they want her to be but... she fails to show us how she really is. i think she really is the 'basic' person she seems to be and the writers forgot to give her a personality apart from not wanting to seem basic
esteban
i just want to let everyone (aka me and my 0 tumblr followers) know that i never gave up hope in him. he was doing stupid things but i knew esteban from season 1 was still in there somewhere. when he told everyone gus was a murderer i was happy because i never gave up on him. and then he killed gus. so, the thing is, i don't like gus. obviously. but couldn't gus have been arrested or something instead? my boy esteban has to deal with having murdered someone now (possible season 3 plot) but all he said was 'wow i'm so happy i managed to make it to graduation with my friends i abandoned and treated like shit but hey who cares :D'. like... idk. esteban from s1e1 would be very disappointed.
luka
i obviously didn't like him at the beginning. but when he helped sin nombre/rebelde in s1e8 i was so happy. he's sarcastic and hurts everyone's feelings but he's still luka and doesn't deserve any of the things that happened to him (🖕 marcelo and gus). he had some really good character development and is still an asshole but i love him anyway <3
mj
mj is so sweet and didn't deserve anything sebas put her through. i don't really know what to say about her character apart from that she stayed nice and respectful no matter what happened. she always helped others. like at the battle of the bands when she helped sebas. she didn't do that to abandon her friends but to help sebas because she felt sorry for him. (he didn't deserve that but that's a completely different topic) she wanted to stay friends with rebelde even after she joined sebas's friendship group (except for jana but that wasn't mj's fault)
andi
andi is so cute <3 she's the reason i carried on watching rebelde and even though dixon's knocked her out of the number one spot of my fav rebelde characters i still love her <3 she deserves so much better than what happened in season 2 and i want her season 1 self back. like, how does someone manage to be this soft and cute and adorable but somehow also so badass?? i guess that's a question only andi agosti knows the answer too
dixon
i love him sm <3 he can do no wrong. i love that he always wants to help people. and the way he looks at everyone, especially mj. his eyes say everything. from the moment he first saw her sing, you could see he was in love with her (not me though because i thought he was okane and would date luka so i never considered him and mj as a possibility until he tried to kiss her in s1e6. oops.) i just want him to be happy. also, i still think the funniest thing to happen in rebelde was that at the end of s1 everyone was sharing their secrets: luka and esteban that they were half-brothers, mj that she'd lied to her parents, andi that she was dating emilia and dixon that he'd lied and said he was poor because he thought no-one would take him seriously as a rapper if they knew he was rich. it was just so random. and his birth name is guillermo. no offense to anyone with that name, it's not a bad name, i just think it's so funny that that's his name. like, that's dixon. not guillermo.
anyway, in conclusion, i love them all <3

Nerves (Emilia Alo x Reader)
Part 1 -- Part 2 -- Part 3
Tumblr media
You’ve been tasked to seduce Sebas, but you can’t keep your eyes off Emilia…
Emilia Alo x Fem!reader 1580 words
It starts a bit slow but picks up toward the end
“This party isn’t just so the school sees us play,” Jana said.  “I have a more important reason.”
Everyone was gathered in the girls' dorm, minus Luka.  There were conversations of the party that night, but Y/N wasn’t too interested.  Instead of listening in, she tackled Andi onto her bed for the last chip in the bag.  Y/N attempted to pry the chip from her hand as she practically sat on top of Andi, giggling as Andi laughed and wheezed for air simultaneously.
“The fire, the threats, the attack on Esteban: we just need him to confess,” Jana said.
“Who?” Y/N turned her head toward the rest of the group, her mouth full of Andi’s chip.
“Sebas.  Have you two dorks been listening?” Jana asked, emphasizing her annoyance.
Y/N only rolled her eyes in response.
“How will we make that happen?” Esteban asked.
“A whole lot of vodka.”
“You’re trusting that a lot of things will fall into place.  I don’t like those odds,” Esteban replied.
“Trust me, I know him,” Jana defended her plan.
“It’s too risky.  What if he doesn’t want to drink?  What if he brings friends or bodyguards?” Esteban said as Y/N released Andi from underneath her only to be tackled in retaliation with a wild scream.
“Desperate times call for desperate measures,” Jana said, ignoring the chaos behind her.  “Dixon’s with me, right?”  She hopefully smiled toward him to which he sighed.
“Well, it’s not like we have a lot of options.”
“I don’t think it’s that bad of an idea,” MJ piped in.
Y/N managed to struggle out of Andi’s grip and her cruel laughter to get a word in.
“Yeah, but there’s no way you can get him drunk.  He hates you.”
“Well,” Jana trailed off, walking toward Y/N with a sly smile.  “That’s why we need one more thing that Sebastian Langarica loves,” she said, sitting beside Y/N and placing her hands comfortingly on her shoulders.
Y/N looked confused for a moment as silence fell over the group.  But when she caught Jana’s expression, the implications of the plan suddenly made sense.
“Me?  Oh god, this truly is the worst plan yet,” Y/N complained, quickly shrugging off Jana’s hands.
“No!  Dixon heard him talking about you the other day.  Seems like Sebas has got quite a crush,” Jana’s smile grew as she elbowed Y/N’s side.
“Dixon!”
“Don’t blame me, Y/N!” Dixon raised his hands in surrender.  “It’s Jana’s plan!”
“Come on!  I know him.  He’ll fall for it,” Jana enticed.  “So?”
                                                         xxx
Y/N bit down on the side of her cup, lost somewhere in the sea of EWS students.  It seemed that the entire school had already shown up in the first fifteen minutes of the extravagant party, which only made Y/N more nervous.
She already had mild stage fright which she had worked so hard to overcome, and now she had people screaming and bumping her left and right before she was even supposed to be performing.  It was so claustrophobic she considered walking out the doors and never returning.
But one thing she was more frightened of than social situations: letting her friends down.
Granted, her friends had abandoned her in a large group of people, knowing she was quite introverted.  So how much of her friends were they?
Unbeknownst to Y/N, she was being watched.  First from afar, then closer as Emilia made a beeline for her, pushing other guests aside.
“Hey,” Emilia said as she walked toward Y/N.  Either the music was too loud or Y/N was too deep in her thoughts because Y/N didn’t hear a word.  She continued grinding her teeth as her grip tightened around her empty cup.  “Hey, Y/N,” Emilia semi-yelled this time.
Y/N instantly spun around at the recognizable accent.  She whipped those around her with her high pigtails before facing Emilia.  For a moment, she was a deer in headlights, unable to move a muscle in her body.  Emilia softly smiled, almost blushing at Y/N’s awestruck reaction.
Emilia had been so amused with Y/N since she first step foot on campus.  She was so adorably shy and awkward, yet so insanely beautiful.  It was a combination that easily invaded Emilia’s heart.  Perhaps it was the contrast to her own personality that made Emilia relentlessly chase after Y/N even when “chasing” wasn’t typically her thing.
But she didn’t understand why Y/N was still so nervous around her given that Emilia had made so many flirtatious advances that practically everyone assumed they would be together by the week’s end.  Yet Y/N seemed to run away every time they got close to being more than flirty friends.
Yet something about their interactions was so addictive that Emilia kept coming back for more.  And Y/N would be lying if she didn’t love the way Emilia made her feel, even if she was too shy to show it.
“Hey,” Y/N said, attempting to swallow her nervousness.
“Not really your scene, huh?”
“Is it that obvious?” Y/N pouted.
“No, no,” Emilia reassured her, wrapping her free hand around Y/N’s arm, pulling her closer while rubbing circles with her thumb in the crook of Y/N’s elbow.  Emilia attempted to ease her anxiousness and nerves as she’d rather enjoy Y/N’s presence in a calm state than in a panicky one. “I just…I know you.  You just need some more of this in you,” Emilia said, waving her half-empty bottle of beer in the air.  “It’ll relax you.”
Y/N glanced down at the bottle then back up at Emilia.
“You want some?” Emilia asked.
Y/N hesitantly nodded.
“You just have to ask.  You know I’d give it to you,” Emilia said.  She smiled that big, heart-stopping smile that showed off a bit of her gums.  Y/N was a slave to that smile as it contagiously spread onto her own lips.
What she wasn’t expecting was for Emilia to step forward and lift the bottle to her lips and grab her chin.  Emilia grabbed her chin, guiding Y/N to tilt her head back and part her lips, allowing Emilia to pour the dark taste of the beer onto Y/N’s tongue.  It tasted so much better when Emilia’s hands were all over her.
Emilia allowed the image to melt into her brain where it would be held for safekeeping.  She knew, from that point on, that it would be the only thing she’d be able to think about.  But eventually, she pulled the bottle away.
As Y/N’s head fell back into place, her lips still faintly separated, Emilia quickly downed the rest of the beer.  She pushed the empty bottle into the arms of a random boy before turning back toward Y/N.  Their chests were practically pressed against each other, their noses grazing one another.
Too scared that Y/N would run away again, Emilia quickly planted her hands on Y/N’s hips.  She scratched her nails against the fabric of the nearly see-through dress Y/N had borrowed from Jana.
“You’re beautiful,” Emilia whispered, her eyes locked onto Y/N’s slightly wide ones.  Y/N was still in shock from the moments before, and now this.  It was all too much for her.  That’s why her nerves usually got the best of her and she ended up running.
But this time seemed to be the exception as the alcohol she had drank previously was impacting her judgement.
“You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen,” Y/N confessed as if it was a secret.  It was truly the worst-kept secret.  Nevertheless, Emilia smiled, watching Y/N slowly emerge from her shell.
Y/N noticed Emilia’s hips begin to sway with the music as Dixon and MJ began to sing Pensado en Ti.
“Dance with me,” Emilia said, blocking out every scene and sound that wasn’t the girl in front of her.
Her hands still hanging awkwardly at her sides, Y/N moved them to hold Emilia’s upper arms.  She looked down at her fingers delicately touching the skin, afraid of making a wrong move.  But when she looked back into Emilia’s face, they both suddenly melted into giggles.  It made everything feel a little less serious.  Just right.
Y/N began to release the tension in her muscles as she allowed her body to move with MJ’s voice.  Emilia was impressed by the fluidity of her movements.  She was so used to Y/N’s stiffness that her stomach dropped feeling Y/N’s hands rub up and down her arms in rhythm with her hips.  It was heavenly.
“Y/N!  Y/N, where are you?” Jana’s voice suddenly screamed over the ending of the song.  Y/N jumped at the mention of her name, moving a step back from Emilia who lost touch with Y/N’s body.  Y/N turned to find Jana storming toward her, causing her to drop her hands back to her sides.  “Come on!  He’s here!” Jana shouted, grabbing Y/N by the arm as she had once held Emilia, before dragging her away.
It happened so quickly that Emilia couldn’t get out another word before Y/N was too far.  Y/N peeked back at her with a look of remorse before she disappeared behind the other bodies.  Emilia groaned in disdain.  They were so close.
“Fucking Jana.”

ok. rebelde 2022 thoughts from someone who has been a rebelde 2004 fan since it originally aired
let’s start with: i don’t like the netflix 8-episode seasons, they don’t give me enough time to actually know everything i need to know about these characters and get attached to them (it’s the same issue i had with young royals tbh). rebelde 2004 was a telenovela that aired almost daily for basically 2 years. they could spend 5-6 chapters with some b-plot storyline going on and still have us hooked with other storylines and all that, and then move on to a completely different storyline the next week, you know?
so having jana be like “i thought what we had was real” to esteban after (what it feels like) only knowing him for 3 days? blargh. also having them as the main couple was just... a terrible idea. they’re boring, very troy and gabriella which is nothing like the rebelde couples we love. mia and miguel? diego and roberta? the blueprints of enemies to lovers. maybe the 2022 romantic dynamic that hit the closest to a rebelde dynamic was dixon x mj, with dixon being the more wildcard, rebellious one and mj being more sweet and innocent (a similar dynamic to lupita and santos) and even that still felt a little rushed (again 8 episodes... not enough); i also really liked andi x emilia but thats because rebelde 2004 didn’t have gay people so 2022 wins there.
also that jana x esteban break-up at the end felt so out of the blue. it lacks drama, it lacks silliness, it lacks everything that made the og rebelde so good.
another thing: the personalities for these characters felt really flat. out of the main 6, luka was the one with the most distinguished traits, i feel like he was the one that was the closest to having a whole “hero’s journey” going for him (obviously he’s my favorite). the thing about rebelde 2004 that really worked was that the main 6 characters were very flawed, completely different from one another and very cartoonishingly so.
mia was an extremely girly-girl-spoiled-bratty-most-popular-daddy’s girl ever, roberta was the most rebellious-rock-n-roll-post-feminism-punk girl, lupita was the peak angelic-church-going-innocent-eternally-virginal type, etc. all these characters were very distinctively different from one another to the point where watching them learn how to get along felt much more interesting and rewarding. and even the supporting characters, the teachers, the parents, etc., all of them felt very unique. meanwhile in 2022 these traits that are supposed to tell them apart are kind of... flat. i can kinda compare them to the og 6 but i cannot right away categorize jana or esteban in any kind of archetype, all these 2022 characters feel like a bella swan-ification of the og main 6 and it’s boring tbh
don’t get me started with la logia... 2004 la logia were truly terrifying. they’d specifically target scholarship students, it was some sort of neonazi allegory, using anonymous threats and real violence and it was genuinely scary whenever they were around. like you’d be fearing for these characters’ lives when they were caught by la logia, people would end up in the hospital fighting for their lives fr!!!!!!! and now... la logia catches the newbies (regardless of status) and makes them... sing? laughable
and “you can’t compare the two” won’t fly here. it’s a direct continuation of an iconic piece of entertainment, and i am a fan of the source material, i am exclusively watching it to make comparisons. not to mention, the characters themselves made direct comparisons - which actually make me dislike them a little more (jana cohen you will never be mia colucci)
and a few lore issues:
so pilar and tomás just... broke up? i guess it happens, of course not all of the couples that ended up together in the 2004 version would be together forever but when you’re making something for people who watched the material source... maybe a little explanation wouldn’t hurt? i wasn’t even that invested in pilar and tomás (i’m more of a lesbian pilar truther tbh)
celina was pregnant when the og rebelde ended. where is the child? that child would be 15-16 in 2022 which is the perfect age for them to be in elite way school... being a character... causing trouble...
speaking of elite way school: this new version is so fucking ugly. the og ews was this DREAM school we all ENVIED and the students would use their laptops in class (i remember being so jealous because laptops were still like. A Big Deal) but this new one is like: concrete. here’s all these students with this wannabe 2000s aesthetics, but this school will be just boring concrete. ugly as fuck and looks tiny
why were there no celina and pilar scenes? they’re literally the two characters that connected us to the original story and they’ve known each other for a long time. celina now has pilar’s dad’s job! and i would’ve felt it in my heart if, in that final scene of the nonames (i refuse to call them rebelde) singing that iconic song, celina and pilar had just fondly smiled at each other because of the good ol’days..... but then didn’t do it! ugh
but let’s go to what i liked:
luka. i’d be biased anyway because he’s a colucci but as i mentioned before he felt like the most distinctive character out of the main 6 and his journey felt the most rewarding to follow.
the anita twist: was genuinely surprised by that. maybe i wasn’t that interested in the logia storyline since it felt so silly compared to the og but seeing her in that revelation scene was quite surprising
diversity: something rebelde 2004 really lacked and the 2022 version managed to do better (we can always keep improving though).
andi x emilia: although it still felt rushed (fucking 8 episode season), it was very refreshing to see a queer storyline in the rebelde universe
lourdes: she was very likeable (even though she purposefully tries not to be), loved her attitude with the students and i wish we had seen even more of her
the covers: i actually enjoyed the covers (although i thought the salvame mv was very corny but not in a camp way like the 2004 one, you know?), listening to songs i’ve loved for more than half of my life in new versions was fun and i’m always up bop to tras de mi .
these are my first thoughts tho. if i think of anything else i’ll keep talking about it i guess lmao

rebelde thoughts, there are spoilers
-mj>>>>. sebas was right like jana will never be mj! mj should be the lead!! -continuing that, the psychoanalysis part of my brain is saying that mj wanted to do the little seduction play so badly because she wanted to prove to herself and everyone who wasn’t andi and dixon (because they already knew) that she had it in her to be the lead, to be the hot it girl, to be attractive and charming in not just a platonic way -jana and luka are so annoying sometimes but i still do like them. like jana and the precious 206 roomie moments :( when she let mj try on the dress and eyed her when mj said it was gonna be fun LIKE THAT’S GAY anyway then whenever luka validated mj by being like show jana how it’s done! alright selena pick the song! like still in his bitchy tone but i liked that :( and when luka called esteban brother and joked when he got mad like i thought that was cute :( -esteban needs to show off more of that musical talent idgaf about him and jana fr like i get it they’re together but they’re so boring and het like it’s so predictable for those two types of ppl to get together it’s quiet talented mysterious boy and popular it girl who has a secret side that aligns with the quiet mysterious boy’s interest somehow! i care about that music cause that class assignment was GAS!!!!! -can dixon have his own slay... he did so much for their group of friends and... i will never forgive jana for saying they were never friends cause he did so much especially for her! -also andi is an underrated friend!! andi and dixon are the lesbian and himbo duo of this show. andi tried to keep emilia out of it, set her boundaries quite firmly, but still seemed to value her friends and the band more. she loved emilia so much, but she put herself and her band and friends and values first by breaking up with her. she seems so emotionally and socially aware and i like that!! she always looked out for mj and even jana. those are her ROOMIES. -andi and dixon looked so hurt when mj performed w sebas :((( that hurt me -andi’s character is so funny cause she looks like she wouldn’t commit to anything like she just seems like she’d be a little bit of a whore but she is such a simp that it’s unreal and that is peak lesbianism if you ask me actually -emilia is a really morally right person she’s just dumb and that’s okay because when she was actually caught up with what was going on she took the right side even if it meant she wasn’t going to get a contract! and she wasn’t even wrong thinking that sebas was having sex w someone and not even considering la logia -i think the girls room has like so much untapped homoerotic tension. not wishing anything bad on endi but... i would like to see something. maybe some andixmj or mjxjana idk am i crazy for that -if they don’t forgive mj for delivering on her parents’ ultimatum... i will hurt someone because they literally forgave luka for helping in screwing them over and esteban for falling off the face of the earth for a few days -i would like to see more of andi and emilia and mj and dixon like i feel like we got so much luka esteban sebas and jana and i simply dgaf abt them anymore i feel like i know them so well but idk anything about the others except like dixon is secretly rich, mj is religious, emilia is brazilian and not rich, andi is??? a rich(?) delinquent? was that her dad who was mad abt her being a delinquent ? the same dad that taught her how to play drums? like that simply doesn’t seem right and i would like clarification -sue me because as much as i want mj fruity i think sebas redemption could be cool because then her and mj could be potentially cute but i also want dixon to win but i also think jana or andi should get with mj... mj just slays too hard im sorry -andrea is acting her fucking ass off because she is like a more emo version of andi irl like she could start going by andi rn -selene really is lowkey just eye candy for this show and honestly it’s okay <3 her and gigi are attracting the wlw and it’s working

anyway. genuine rebelde thoughts no one asked for: (under a read more because wow was that more than i expected to write!!)
i feel like s2 had a very different vibe from s1... in s1 there was obviously a lack of depth/character development but the show seemed to mostly just be silly with minimal conflict and aimed at slightly younger audiences. which was fine. i liked the teens having teenage drama and the musical performances. but s2 was like... let’s throw in drug dealing, threesomes, car accidents, people going into comas, a grown ass adult man trying to manipulate and drug minors, and murder. like ???? idk. it was just very much not what i expected from the show after seeing season 1.
also the musical performances really left smth to be desired :( in the first couple eps it was okay but then all of a sudden it wasn’t about the music at all anymore which was weird bc like... that is the Whole Point! they are at music school! disappointing :/
plus, even though they were obviously trying to make the show more serious, no one actually... developed in a narratively satisfying way? like for example, esteban’s entire arc in s1 was figuring out who his mom was, but now he was just an egocentric asshole for NO reason the entire season. which i did not get. why were girls suddenly obsessed with him? what even HAPPENED with the ilse and laura plotline? why did he suddenly have 0 morals for most of the show and then in the last few moments decide actually maybe i will be normal? just. huh. and that’s ONLY esteban who, along with jana, is Thee most boring character in the show...
anyway. as for other characters:
- jana. boring. lame. tried to do something with her attempting to find her identity but that conflict has been going on for 2 seasons and nothing has happened. also why bring in the video w okane thing and then 1 episode later act like it never happened? plus the car crash thing? like she was fully traumatized from that for an episode but then she and dixon hugged and it was fine? don’t understand
- sebas. WHERE to even start. man was inexplicably useless and just there to be docile and made fun of for half the season then he suddenly became his old asshole backstabber self. NO semblance of any redemption arc with mj, no explanations for why he continues to act this way... they didn’t even delve into his relationship with his mom and her expectations for him! it was all surface-level motivation
- i really liked mj last season but she just felt not there this time. idk she was just there half the time to be with sebas for no reason and to give dixon someone to pine after which was disappointing... the morning after pill plotline was resolved so weirdly...
- emilia . okay emilia was okay in this season but i wanted to see her more :( i appreciated her actual motivation to do Something even if it got her expelled/breaking up with andi and also she seemed to genuinely learn from it. yay for actual character development! for once!
- andi... idk her entire plotline was the addiction and then being there to plot w the others. which... was boring?? i wanted more of her artistic pursuits and stuff bc i liked seeing her start songwriting!! THAT is a fun new road that would have been in line with the show’s vibe! not addiction and an overdose jesus christ. plus i want andi and emilia back together my beloveds
- okane and luka were a high point honestly. maybe just bc okane was new and seemed more interesting bc of that but they both were so entertaining... them just insulting each other at first was hilarious. but also he and luka never actually resolved the whole “taking bribes from gus to sell drugs” thing. and also his relationship (????) with jana was weird af and also never resolved after the whole video incident. i did appreciate that he and luka actually had genuine conversations unlike some people and their love interests (cough cough esteban). and the relationship btwn luka and his dad did actually sort of develop yay for development... i guess... anyway okane and luka saved half this season
- gus sucked. why did we need that. he was the only reason half the plot happened and it was just STUPID! lol. i did not enjoy him as a character or plot device. chicago voice he had it coming
well! anyway. this season was... interesting. i’ll give it a 6 or 7 out of 10 because i am absurdly attached to these characters, i do like some of the drama, & it makes me laugh/ feel happy. and i hope it’s renewed for s3. but was it structurally and narratively good? no

I never watch specials but Todxs Somos Rebelde was everything (tho too short)
So here I am again.
I do hope we’ll get to hear Gigi sing more in season 2 (and be more present! #morescreentimeforgigi) and also Selene. Her part in Rebelde is great but too short and her voice is too gorgeous to not hear it more.
The hate Sergio gets for not liking RBD is a bit ridiculous. If anything, he shouldn’t be in the band because his voice is mediocre at best. Note: the jokes about Esteban getting from Jana in 3 episodes what Miguel didn’t get from Mia in 3 seasons are killing me 😂 but at least Esteban didn’t pretend to be 3 years younger and wasn’t verbally abusive towards Jana, so…
Alejandro is so delicious and adorable that I doubt any other actor would have made me root for Sebastian’s redemption ark. I might have nicknamed him Kylo Ren 2.0. I also hope he’ll get to sing more songs, preferably original.
After binging La Reina del Flow, I’d really like to hear Jeronimo sing a full song similar to what Charly Flow or Erik sing. Or maybe a different genre all together.
Azul is a pop queen and Este Sentimiento is a 2000 pop anthem. It took me back to the past. Note: Once again, coming from someone who had a love-hate thing for Mia and even Roberta, I really don’t find Jana as unlikable and annoying as some do. But I had to endure 97 episodes of Antonia de Haro being a righteous basic binch with a permanent poker face. You get to appreciate Jana more once you realise that her character could have been so much worse. Also, Azul is so precious while Roberta Damian was really dull back then.
Andrea/MJ is THE queen. Period!
The ELLE photoshoot had the actor grouped as couples and Franco and Alejandro were paired together. I know people are shipping MJ and Sebastian and it could work (Mia, Roberta, Miguel and Diego dated many other people before the main 2 couples finally got together, so there’s hope for Dixon and MJ), but Baby Colucci and Sebas as two chaotic queer men? Yes, please.
Salvame sung in Portuguese sounds 1000000 times better than in Spanish.
Edit: People are still whining about the diversity part. Some still hate that the cast is not entirely Mexican or lily white and that there is LGBT representation, while other whine about an 8 episode-long series not including MORE. They really can’t seem to please anyone no matter what.
Vamos a tener secunda temporada - me, pretending to be shocked 😮

Thoughts on the new rebelde series on netlfix
I admit that yeaaaaars ago I loved the rebelde (2004 version), I watched it every day after school
So even before watching I knew that the nostalgia won't let me love it the same way
But I'm surprised because it wasn't that bad xD
I mean it was bad, it's a cliche series for teens, but still
( spoilers ahead, I think
Also, trigger warning- grooming mentioned)
First of all, I didn't like the school set
Second why is there only one person looking after the kids at night? I MEAN CELINA YOU WERE A STUDENT THERE
You can't trust those kids xD
And lastly- the main kidsss
Jana? Ok, this one will be controversial but the most boring character, kinda Mary Sue stereotype (although the actress is very pretty and sings good). Honestly I was afraid that they will make her a Mia copy, they didn't (thank you netlfix). So, 2/10 (also, she outed Luka? That's....horrible, we don't stan)
Esteban- my pure baby boy, he deserves everything even though he has zero brain cells- it must be the colucci gene XD ofc the suspense of his mother was predictable but well, could be worse. I love his bromance with Dixon, his obsession with Luka xD cute kid, must protecc. Angelic voice, pretty face, what else could I want Overall, 10/10
MJ- she sings great, and the actress is so pretty! But I didn't like her swaying from boy to boy, first Esteban, then Dixon and Sebas... I mean, I understand! Completely
But didn't like that :( and I felt really bad for her in the last episode but...meh 3/10
Dixon- he reminded me of Giovanni with his hair and attitude but he's so puure when gio was an asshole most of the time. Great friend, I'd love to have a Dixon in my life. His rapping was good, I think- I don't really listen to rap? So I'm not sure, but it sounded awesome! 8/10 because I'm an old witch and his pants were horrible in my eyes
Andi- the skilsss, the hair *.* The everything (honestly, her clothes were the best to me, even tho I wouldn't wear them). The relationship with Emilia was adorable, the last episode *chef's kiss*. I'd say, for me she's 6/10
Luka- ok, this one is my second favourite. A bitchy sassy colucci with brain! I mean, he uses it very rarely but still. Daddy issues the size of America and those sad eyes- I see a lot of Diego in him! Don't let me start on his voice, because I won't stop and it's getting late, I need to finish it and go to sleep xD I Hope when we see him in the second season he'll be coming back from vacation with his cousin Mia and he'll show us that he can be a good person, not only a good actor ^^ the only thing I hate about him are his clothes, but I must be too old to understand the fashion of today's youth... (And I'm only 23 xD) because of his clothes he's 12/10
Emilia- bi bitch with a great voice- I love her. I didn't like her mean girl attitude in the first episode but well, I change my mind a lot. Her hair is majestic- I know what I will do with mine, the next time I'll need a change, so overall 9/10
And finally
Sebas- THE DEVIL, THE BITCH BOY, THE WORST CUTIE EVER, he's such an asshole, I just can't hate him. Mommy issues, he was groomed(?!?!?! He was 18 but let's face it, the 'relationship' surely started before that, I think he would be around 15/16 and that's sick) Noone really likes him because of him- and the list goes on and on why I should hate him but I don't. That last scene in the finale, I was crying with him... I can't rate him fairly though, so he's a caramel popcorn out of McDonald's ice-cream with caramel *.* We can't forget that he's a bad person but...
Idk 192828/10
I like bad boys, don't judge me
I think I got all of them?
I could write about Celina- but we all love her
Pilar- the same Pilar she always was, (where's Tomas?? Where's grandpa gandia?)
That ... secretary? I won't waste words, I kinda hate predators :/
Whats your opinion?? Let's talk about it bc my friends don't watch it and I don't have anyone to vent to T.T

thoughts on the new rebelde bc I don’t want to make 300 posts about it:
- they were trying wayy too hard to be elite with the dark vibes and it did not work, mainly because elite was consistent with the dark motifs + edgy scenes and rebelde wasn’t
- jana is the worst main character fr get that girl less screen time I can’t stand her
- jana and esteban are hands down the worst couple who thought casting those two to act with each other was a good idea when they have 0 chemistry
- dixon and mj are adorable
- LOVED andi and emilia (my brazilian queen) but their relationship felt so rushed, they should have gotten more scenes together
- the whole season felt rushed tbh and I understand it’s hard to tell a story with just eight episodes but multiple other shows managed to do a good job with the same episodes number
- why wasn’t there more RBD mentions? sure they sang their songs and their uniforms were there for everyone to see and mia was mentioned a couple times buuut no mention of what everyone is up to? are mia and miguel married? how’s roberta and diego? GIVE ME SOME MORE
- the new la logia was a fucking joke but I’ve seen plenty of people talking about that already
- sebas is a pretty nicely written villain and I’m excited with the direction they’re taking him in
- couldn’t care less about esteban’s back story honestly he’s so boring
- mj did what she had to do to stay in school and I’ll fight anyone who gives her crap for it

ok so here’s some thoughts on rebelde netflix
if i see someone comparing esteban to miguel i will be throwing rocks
the show was completely vague about what being a colucci means. if you haven’t watched the og you probably won’t get the dimension of that last name
also the reason why luka was so privileged got kinda confusing by the end of s1. apparently his dad is from the commission, so that’s the reason why he can do anything he wants? or is it because he is related to mia? or both? please stop focusing on esteban and explain your plots thank you
still talking about luka, “you might be a colucci but you don’t have to act like one”???? they are just using the colucci name in vain. this thing of turning the coluccis into SOMEHOW the bustamante family isn’t cool. smell my shampoo netflix. mia isn’t like that. franco isn’t like that. stop it.
i’m very curious to know exactly how luka and jana met and who was getting married when jana screwed up. luka said it was his aunt’s wedding but WHO??? it doesn’t make sense if he is talking about mia because she and miguel got engaged in 2006 so???? but also the only thing that could connect them as far as we know is pilar and mia
bringing pilar and celina to the show and not having one single scene of them together doesn’t make any sense
some of the FEW rbd mentions were kinda disrespectful. only mj did it right
throwing at celina’s face that she could be in rbd was so, so SO unnecessary. and how does he even knows that celina was a member in the beginning? she didn’t even sing with them in nico’s cafe. she left the band and that’s it. bringing it back without context was just unnecessary
they totally ignored celina’s kid :( not fair
la logia from rebelde 2004 was scary, like really scary. now what? they make the new students SING? how is that some kind of torture? the only bad thing la logia did was waking up people in the middle of the night
i like lourdes she reminds me of alicia and gaston
absolutely in love with dixon and andi. dixon my bi king you have my heart
please the scene of dixon arriving at ews is exactly like giovanni’s scene lol but i liked that, it was pretty funny to make this parallel
i wonder if someone who didn’t watch 2004 rebelde could actually understand all that rbd means. they didn’t really explain who the rbd members are so lines like “the new mia” or when mj talks about thinking she’s more like roberta feels kinda vague. they just dropped name tags and some uniforms behind a glass. gotta mention here the scene when mj stares at roberta’s uniform before facing her parents
won’t lie i liked the twist of mj singing with sebas after all. the anita and the esteban being luka’s brother plots wasn’t really that shocking to me, it didn’t really surprise me so yeah i like the mj singing with sebas better even tho she broke the heart of my baby dixon
anyway, the show is basic but i like some characters so i will keep watching
i think i will keep adding things here

Well first of all, Jana is so lame. I’m sorry but nobody cares about her whining. And the way she made a dramatic exit and packed her bags but returned so easily? Thank you, NEXT. And Esteban... the actor doesn’t even like him, so why should we? Thank you, NEXT. I want to see more Endi, and Dixon and MJ. Also Luka and Sebas because at least they’re interesting and I love redemptive arcs. Also the hot teacher with the pretty eyes can fuck me up. What do you think?
Look I don't wanna be hatting on anyone but the writers need to put some effort on Jana and Esteban(individually and as a couple) and all that shit Sergio Mayer Mori has been saying 🤢 makes me want him out of the production, specially knowing that even Andrea Chaparro had issues with him.
I liked Dixon and MJ but I just want a nice storyline for Dixon no matter who he's dating, he deserves it
At least Luka had screentime but I need background for Endi and obviously more scenes, and Sebas has a lot of potential because he's not evil just ambitious as MJ.
And who's this teacher you're talking about? 😏👀 Anita?

I watched Rebelde and I have to say even if I did like it, pretty much every story suffered because it only had 8 episodes and it feels like they crammed a 20 episodes season into 8. I never watched the previous Rebelde, but I did watch the OG Rebelde Way and this new one definitely suffers from the 8 episodes.
Jana and Esteban as main straight ship are fine, a bit boring, and not the best acted. But definitely too quick.
A di is great, I lover her. There is a lot about her you could explore that sadly didn't get shown much and I wish she was a bit more involved in the plot. Her and Emilia are cute but they are probably the most rushed ship in the show. Emilia seems to go on a character arc almost totally offscreen, and she is barely involved in the plot. I don't know how so many people got so attached to them already. They went through an arc that should have taken a full season to explore in like 15 scenes. Like I like them don't get me wrong but I need more. I need Emilia to feel like she is a character onto herself not just a love interest.
MJ is a great character and she as great chemistry with Seb. Part of me is hoping they don't reedem Seb and MJ becomes the second antagonist. I think that would be interesting. And she has a lot more chemistry with him then Dixon. Like I love Dixon but him and MJ are super boring, no chemistry at all.
I love Luka, I know he is an asshole and I hope that the turn in the ending is just the start of his redemption not the only redemption they have, but I love him. He is my asshole and that's that. Also unpopular opinion his hate for Jana in the beginning was 100% justified, his sabatoge wasn't, but his hate for Jana totally understandable, she outed him. I don't care if her intentions were good.
Ultimately it's a good show, but It really didn't utilize the new short season format properly. Elite manages to make each season fill like a full year and super packed without being rushed but this one didn't, every story felt a bit rushed, some more then others.

Black Actors Who Played White Characters
2019-12-212019-12-21 ViraLuck
Celebrity Facts, Entertainment
‘); (h12_adarray = window.h12_adarray || []).push({“adcontainer”:h12precont,”placement”:”c9d6b99f00114c5a436a0f497c7bb182″,”size”:”300×250″,”type”:”standard”,”width”:”300″,”height”:”250″,”name”:””});
Color blind casting, or non-traditional casting, has opened up opportunities for black actors, albeit slowly. There have been many black actors who played white characters, but there’s still room for more diversity in Hollywood overall.
White characters played by black actors have paid off at the box office because audiences appreciate an excellent performance – regardless of race. While many fans reacted negatively the casting of black actress Noma Dumezweni as Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, others were excited that such an accomplished actress was stepping into the role. Even Potter creator J.K. Rowling defended the casting choice.
In many cases, black actors who have taken on white roles have changed the way a character was seen forever. Red has been portrayed as black ever since Morgan Freeman played the part in the film adaptation of The Shawshank Redemption. We will always think of Agent J in Men in Black as Will Smith. Michael Clarke Duncan was so perfect for The Kingpin in Daredevil, that Marvel wrote a tribute to the actor when he passed.
This list looks at some of the top black actors who played traditionally white characters. And while we’re talking about non-traditional casting, which role would you like to see a black actor take on? Let everyone know in the comments
Zendaya Coleman as Mary Jane Watson
Tumblr media
In August 2016, it was announced that African American actress Zendaya Coleman will play Mary Jane Watson, Spider-Man’s love interest, in the 2017 Marvel reboot Spider-Man: Homecoming. Zendaya previously appeared in a number of Disney Channel shows, including KC Undercover and Shake It Up!, starring as the title character in the former.
Mary Jane (who, according to IMBb, will be called Michelle in the reboot) was played by Kirsten Dunst in the original Sony Spider-Man film series and by Shailene Woodley in scenes that were deleted from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. In the comics, Mary Jane is a pale redhead. Survey says? Change is good.
The casting decision ignited a mini-furor in fan communities, as such decisions have done in the past(and also this). James Gunn, director of Guardians of the Galaxy, took to Facebook to address these concerns, writing:
I can’t respond to the racists – I’m not ever going to change their minds. But for the thoughtful majority of you out there:
For me, if a character’s primary attribute – the thing that makes them iconic – is the color of their skin, or their hair color, frankly, that character is shallow and sucks. For me, what makes MJ MJ is her alpha female playfulness, and if the actress captures that, then she’ll work. And, for the record, I think Zendaya even matches what I think of as MJ’s primary physical characteristics – she’s a tall, thin model – much more so than actresses have in the past.
Noma Dumezweni as Hermione Granger
Tumblr media
Play: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Despite her accomplishments as an actor, there was backlash over Dumezweni’s casting as Hermione in the play. J. K. Rowling, the queen of having none of it, squashed the criticism, tweeting, “Canon: brown eyes, frizzy hair and very clever. White skin was never specified Rowling loves black Hermione.” Other Harry Potter cast members supported Dumezweni in the role. Matthew Lewis tweeted, “And Neville Longbottom was blonde. I really don’t care. Good luck to her.”
Dumezweni said to the haters, “It stems from ignorance. They don’t want to be a part of the creative act. To say it’s not as it was intended is so unimaginative. I don’t think they understand how theater works. We’re here to heal you, make you smile and whisk you away.”
Will Smith as Robert Neville
Tumblr media
Film: I Am Legend
Neville is the last man in New York City, or so he thinks. There have been many adaptations of Richard Matheson’s 1954 novel, but this was the first time a black actor played the virologist.
Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury
Tumblr media
Films: The Avengers franchise
David Hasselhoff played Fury in a 1998 TV movie, but it’s Jackson who conjures a special kind of Fury.
Morgan Freeman as Red
Tumblr media
Film: The Shawshank Redemption
In the book, Stephen King describes Red as white and Irish. The line “Maybe It’s because I’m Irish” was left in the movie as a nod to the book. Stage versions of the book now cast Red as black, thanks to Freeman’s iconic performance (which earned him an Oscar nomination).
Idris Elba as Heimdall
Tumblr media
Films: Thor, Thor: The Dark World
In the Marvel comic series, Heimdall is a Norse god, but he’s just as mighty in the hands of Elba on screen.
Denzel Washington as Bennett Marco
Tumblr media
Film: The Manchurian Candidate
Richard Condon’s 1959 novel was made into a film in 1962, with Frank Sinatra asBennett Marco. Washington, who lends something to every role he takes on, played Marco well enough in a so-so remake in 2004.
Quvenzhané Wallis as Annie
Tumblr media
Film: Annie
Many actors have take on the role since 1982, most notably Aileen Quinn. But Wallis was a refreshing update to the white, freckled redhead. Wallis’s performance received a 2014 Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical.
Brandy Norwood as Cinderella & Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother
Tumblr media
Film: Cinderella
The 1997 ABC TV special was the first time Cinderella and other characters were played by black actors. Besides Norwood and Houston, Veanne Cox and Natalie Desselle played Cinderella’s stepsisters, and Whoopi Goldberg was Queen Constantina. Filipino-American Paolo Montalban played Prince Christopher.
Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm
Tumblr media
Film: The Fantastic Four
Say what you will about the 2015 film, but Jordan was a refreshing update to Storm. Chris Evans, who played Storm in 2005, thought Jordan was a fine choice as well.
Will Smith as Agent J
Tumblr media
Films: Men in Black franchise
In the Aircel comics, Lowell Cunningham and Sandy Carruthers depicted both agents as white. Smith, being a huge star (especially in 1997), was an easy choice as Agent J alongside Tommy Lee Jones as Agent K.
Michael Clarke Duncan as The Kingpin
Tumblr media
Film: Daredevil
Duncan played the villain to perfection in 2003, and left his mark on the character. So much so that Marvelhailed him after his passing in 2012.
Pam Grier as Jackie Brown
Tumblr media
Film: Jackie Brown
In Elmore Leonard’s book Rum Punch, Jackie Brown is a blonde flight attendant. Tarantino saw the character as black and specifically wanted Pam Grier for the role in his 1997 film.
Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent
Tumblr media
Film: Batman
The Batman comic series portrayed Dent as white. Williams added his own special qualities to the villain onscreen in Tim Burton’s 1989 film. He also revealed that he was on course to play Two-Face in the sequel, but producers went another way, choosing Tommy Lee Jones.
Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Ted Ross, Nipsey Russell, and Richard Pryor
Tumblr media
Film: The Wiz
One of the first black casts to take on the beloved 1939 The Wizard of Oz, the 1978musical was an instant hit with audiences and continues to be produced and toured worldwide.
Alfre Woodard, Queen Latifah, Phylicia Rashad, and Others
Tumblr media
Film: Steel Magnolias
The all black cast – rounded out by  Jill Scott, Adepero Oduye, and Condola Rashad – appeared in the 2012 Lifetime remake, but faced a tough reception from the diehards of the 1989 movie.
Dwayne Johnson as Hercules
Tumblr media
Film: Hercules (2014)
Hercules is Greek; The Rock is not. However, that didn’t stop him from being an awesome Hercules. Steve Reeves, who played Hercules in two different movies in the late ‘50s, would pull down some columns in approval. Kevin Korbo’s popular portrayal in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys ran from 1995 to 1999 and he was irked when producers turned him down for a cameo in the Dwayne Johnson film.
Eartha Kitt and Halle Berry as Catwoman
Tumblr media
Film & TV Series: Catwoman & Batman
On the page of the comics, Catwoman is white and many fine actresses from Julie Newmar to Michelle Pfeiffer have played the character. But Eartha Kitt made Catwoman iconic with her famous growly voice in the late-’60s TV series and Halle Berry brought Catwoman back to black in the 2004 film.
Bernie Casey and Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter
Tumblr media
Films: James Bond franchise
Several white actors have played Leiter over the years in the Bond franchise, most notably Jack Lord. Casey took on the role in 1983 in Never Say Never Again; Wright brought weight and realness to the character in 2006’s Casino Royale and 2008’s Quantum of Solace.
Will Smith as Jim West
Tumblr media
Film: Wild Wild West
Robert Conrad played James T. West in the popular 1960s TV series, with Will Smith portraying the character in the 1999 film.
David Oyelowo as Henry VI
Tumblr media
Play: Henry VI
In 2000, David Oyelowo was the first black actor to play the English king for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Sam Jones III as Pete Ross
Tumblr media
TV Series: Smallville
In the comics, Clark Kent’s friend is white. Ross became a fan favorite when he stepped into the role in 2001 on the TV series.
Mos Def as Ford Prefect
Tumblr media
Film: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy When fans saw 2005’s The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, they were delighted and puzzled to find Mos Def in the role of Ford Prefect opposite Martin Freeman’s Arthur Dent. Prefect is a red head in Douglas Adams’s book. Def’s version is significantly more cool than David Dixon’s Prefect on the BBC TV series, but both work in their own way.
Colin McFarlane as Gillian B. Loeb
Tumblr media
Film: Batman Begins, The Dark Knight
Loeb was a corrupted baddie in the comics. McFarlane’s Loeb played him with complicated motivations in both films.
Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny
Tumblr media
Film: Skyfall
Lois Maxwell played Miss Moneypenny for 23 years. Then four other actresses (Barbara Bouchet, Pamela Salem, Caroline Bliss, Samantha Bond) took on the role. Producers and cast kept the secret until Skyfall’srelease in 2012, as Naomie Harris became the first black Miss Moneypenny.
Laurence Fishburne as Perry White
Tumblr media
Film: Man of Steel
Fishburne portrayed the first black the Editor in Chief at the Daily Planet in 2013’s Man of Steel. Several white actors, including John Hamilton, had portrayed the character up until then.
Laurence Fishburne as Jack Crawford
Tumblr media
TV Series: Hannibal
Crawford has been played by Scott Glenn, Harvey Keitel, and Dennis Farina. Fishburne was tapped for the role of the FBI agent in the NBC series from 2013 to 2015.
