Idk how to label this. Wifehunter John?
The idea of possessive/obsessive John manipulating a situation and stealing a wife for himself struck me, so just coughing the idea up while I sneak away for a coffee before I actually have to start work in 20 mins đ entirely unedited, abrupt ending
________
For someone married to his job, he has put quite a bit of thought into what he is looking for in a wife. Namely, that she's already married.
His reasoning is threefold. He can admit to himself, firstly, that it satisfies his need for control. Competency. He's a busy man with a demanding job. Not quite retired yet, no time to build his own from scratch. With this, he gets a wife boxed up and ready-trained. Broken in.
Secondly, the need for control bleeds into his saviour complex. She'll need a shoulder to cry on, someone strong and capable to get her back on her feet. She'll be feeling a little fragile. Needy. Perfect.
And thirdly, it does something wild to his jealous, possessive streak. The idea of taking something precious, of breaking her bond to another man and tying it to him? Delicious. The idea that she used to be someone else's, that he has to imprint himself onto her knowing that in doing so he is erasing the imprint of another man? It has his teeth aching, grinding even as heat rises in his belly. Stirs at him.
The idea swirls lazily in the back of his mind, never quite finding the right time or right partner. He bats at it a few times, lazy cat playing with the notion, seeing how far it can stretch before it snaps. Eyes up pretty things everywhere he goes, glancing down at their left hands just to check, but nothing quite tugs on that string. Until one day it does when he's outfitting the security system at your house.
It's side work. Cash in hand, word of mouth. Something to keep him busy when on mandated leave. Something to keep in mind as his retirement from active duty creeps closer. And your husband is a real piece of work, all blustering braggadocio energy. Young buck, not knowing his place in the herd. Not knowing that he'd be better scratching his antlers off on a tree than going head-to-head with a gristled thing like John.
It's like John's energy, his presence in the house, sends alarm bells ringing in your husband's mind (Be the man. Don't back down. Puff up your chest and strut). And it plays so perfectly into John's hands because your young buck doesn't realise that what he's really doing is fawning. To John. (Look at me, be impressed by me!) He makes his biggest mistake in putting you down in front of him, trying to sidle up to John and create some kind of desperate camaraderie. Ordering you to bring tea to the men at work. Rolling his eyes at your attempts to talk, to ask questions about the work being done. Waving you off so he can stand and watch the proceedings. Like he could supervise. Like he has any clue what he's doing.
Only the promise of the long game keeps John from levelling him with a hard look, from calling him outblike he'd love to.
He hears you both in the in the other room, having swatted the young buck off like a particularly virulent pest. Noisy and bothersome. Not needed - or wanted- in this home. And entirely too stupid to realise that John wasn't being jocular in his dismissal.
You've been scribbling away for the past few days, something occupying your time, keeping you happy and hidden away in the kitchen.
"You're not serious, are you?"
"Well, yes," he hears the slight quaver in your voice before you find your footing. You've got at least a bit of spine. Good. "You said that I should find an occupation. Not just 'laze around the house playing housewife'. This is what I-"
"Oh come on, I didn't mean- You don't think that this is viable, do you?"
"Well... I love gardening. And I'm good at it. And there's no reason that it can't be more accessible for people, especially with the current economic-"
He cuts you off with a scoff. "Dear, just- I don't want you to be disappointed. I think you don't quite understand the time and effort this will take. And you know nothing of marketing, publishing. Why don't you put that away and start on dinner?"
And oh, isn't that delicious. He can taste it now, that idea that has been swirling. It's thick, almost tangible on his tongue. The tension in the house, the bitter lacryma of stifled tears. The slight acidity of words you left unsaid. It has his mouth watering, pupils dilating.
And when he's packing up that evening, tools and materials tucked in to the heavy workman's case, he swings by the kitchen on his way out. Catches the way something is jutting out slightly from the bin, lid slightly askew. When he pulls it out he realises it's some kind of notebook, carefully (lovingly) bound. Pictures pasted, mindmaps and notes and plans scribbled in the margins. Your gardening tips. Kitchen scraps, window boxes, rooftop plots. Urban gardening. It's deeply thoughtful, well researched.
A labour of love, lying in the rubbish.
Sweet, clever little thing. That just won't do.
He leaves your house with a little piece of you tucked away in his toolkit and a nice plan forming. He'll be back, of course, not quite finished with his work. He'd planted a few little links into the system he'd almost installed, projecting not just to the monitor in your home but also in his. Got to keep his eyes on you, keep you safe and cared for in ways that your useless husband can't.
Finding that book was a boon. He'd say it was divinely ordained if he believed in all that. It weighs heavy in his toolbox as he whistles out the door.
Now, how to get you alone and return it to you..

This idea may have been done before? I'm not sure, sorry! I've seen a lot of possessive John floating around. Tagging @stellewriites because I said I would last time, and you've been so encouraging of my nonsense.
Anyway I've got like 4 long-form WIPs that I'm working on, so I may never actually write this one but thought I'd share since that image set I just reblogged made me feral đ

ex for a reason â choi seungcheol (+18)
cheol feels a wave of possessiveness when he sees your ex-boyfriend!
warnings: unprotected sex, fingering (f rec), sl*t, degradation (f rec), daddy cheol!, spanking, tit playing, jealousy! est. relationship, a little possessiveness haha, creampie, thatâs all i think! ok enjoy <3
if seungcheol could pinpoint exactly why he, too, is a creature bound to the notion of possessiveness â he would. except, at this point of time, all he feels is rage.
not at you â no, no not at all. how could he ever be angry at his princess? the poor guy falling victim to his fiery glares would be your ex-boyfriend. said ex-boyfriend â mingyu, was definitely too buzzed to notice the hard daggers thrown at him.
you however, are quick to notice the switch in tension after mingyu came over to give you a hug, gushing over how itâs been forever since youâve last met. you return the kind smile. after all you and him did end on cordial terms.
that ticks something off in seungcheolâs head. the way mingyuâs arms seemed too familiar â too comfortable snaking around you. all while he was standing there right beside you.
he shakes hands with mingyu, squeezing a little too tight until he notices the wince on that pretty boyâs face. headâs too busy thinking about the fact that heâs held you close under his covers before.
âbaby, you all right?â you squeeze the hands that are tightly wrapped around your waist.
seungcheol hums, âyeah baby, just a little tired is all,â he reassures, leaving a peck on your temple. you narrow your eyes, knowing heâs withholding words from you.
âyâsure? we can leave early â anytime you wanna,â raising your brows at him, offering an exit.
âno baby, iâm fine. itâs your friendâs birthday after all, letâs stay a while more â enjoy this bottle of whiskey she has,â he lifts up the $3000 bottle off the table top, waving it slightly.
seungcheol self soothes. he thinks heâs got it all under control, itâs not like youâve got residual feelings attached to mingyu â its been almost two years. but with the way mingyu keeps gazing over towards you, with that fucking smirk, seungcheol thinks heâs about to lose it.
the party is in full swing â party hits back to back, loud chatting over the speakers, with people dancing around. he sees mingyu start to make his way across the room towards the both of you.
without much thought, seungcheol pulls you in closer â if even possible, grabs your hand and leads you to a room. a guest room which you recognise due to the nights spent in your friendâs house.
âcheol, baby? whatâs wrong?â you catch your breath, looking up at him and furrowing your eyebrows.
cheol tucks a piece of hair behind your ear. he looks at you tenderly, before deciding to come clean. itâs not the first time heâs informed you of how jealousy tends to cloud his mind.
âiâŚjust couldnât stand your ex being there. standing there looking at you, as if iâm not there right beside you â was fucking pissing me off,â he sighs out, leaning his forehead against yours, body to body.
you let out a small chuckle, âbaby, you know how he is⌠plus the only man iâve ever looked at the whole night â is standing right in front of me right now. heâs all i wanna look at.â you nibble on your bottom lip, hoping seungcheol catches every nuance of sincerity youâre projecting.
âyeah? i know baby.. sorry itâs just, i canât help it. want him to back off. want him to know who you belong to now,â his voice barely above a whisper.
you gaze up, giving his plump lips a kiss. a simple peck which turned into sucking, biting and licking â which was the case all of the time because who could resist and pull away from those lips?
he kisses you back with even more urgency, even more passion and love â and you feel him take charge, grabbing your nape to pull you in closer. he wants to taste all of you, every inch and spot â he wants it all. wants the reassurance that youâre now his and only his to hold, to touch, to pleasure.
âyouâre all mine arenât you,â he growls out mid kiss, grabbing you by your chin, staring so deep into your eyes you feel the need seeping into you from his gaze alone.
âalways have been, cheol.â
his heart settles at your voice. knows youâre his. but hearing it makes him feel a whole ânother level of complete. loves when you play to his possessive selfish desires.
âfuck,â he mutters to himself before sitting himself down on the edge of the bed, pulling you down to straddle above him.
he pushes and combs your hair to the back, hands rubbing up and down your body, hands claiming whatâs his. he takes in your silhouette in front of him â sitting so prettily, just waiting to be devoured by him.
âyouâre too beautiful baby, hate the thought of someone else getting to see you the way i do,â he removes the strap of your top, teasing slowly as he starts to pull your top above your stomach.
you raise your hands, letting him remove your top. he hisses, sucks in a sharp breath, noticing you went braless for the night.
âbraless tonight baby? thank god it was warm out there. imagine if these,â he tugs on both nipples harshly, âwere to stand if it were cold,â he releases them, rubbing over your hard nipples softly in circles with his thumb. âthen that ex boyfriend of yours wouldâve been able to see whatâs mine, wouldnât he.â
you whimper at the hard and soft sensation on your nipples, knowing heâs going gentle on you now.
âyouâd like that baby? want him to see you like that?â he slaps across your tits, tainting the soft flesh with his print. you let out a whine, ân-noâŚdonât want him to,â
âyeah? itâs for my eyes only, right baby?â his hand inches towards your core, completely exposed under your mini skirt by the way youâre sitting.
he rubs his fingers over your panties, smirking at the wet patch he feels on your center.
âso wet baby, thinking about me or thinking about him?â
you frown and gasped at him indignantly, âyou. baby â i donât understaââ he slaps your cunt, soothing it immediately afterwards with a few gentle rubs across your core.
he knows itâs him, knows only he can get you so dippy â likes a confirmation of it anyways.
he pulls you in for another heated kiss while his fingers continue to stay busy toying with your clothed cunt. your warm cunt that he wants to drown in all the time.
âremove your panties and go on all fours for me baby,â he grabs your hips, lifting you off him. you silently think of ways to apologise to your friend before getting comfortable on the bed, just clad in your mini skirt.
seungcheol groans at the supple flesh of your ass spilling out of the short fabric. pulling you closer to the edge, he grips onto the flesh. fingers tense, possessiveness dripping down his fingertips. needs to feel you on every active nerve to remind himself that youâre solely his.
he dives in to give one long lick up your soaked cunt. you moan out his name, and he groans out how fucking wet you are.
âfuck baby, i think if i were to fuck you right now my cock would slide right in,â he settles for his fingers for now, feeling the way your walls immediately tighten around his finger.
âcheolâŚdaddy, want more..â you push your hips back, wiggling your ass in his face. he slaps a harsh one down your cheeks, and you wince, whimpering slightly.
âgreedy slut. think you deserve more? letting your ex boyfriend hug you like that,â he says that but inserts two fingers in this time. bottoming out to his knuckles, curling his fingers.
âd-donât be angry daddy, you know i only want daddy⌠want you onlyâŚâ you beg, breath hitching every time he hits the spot all the way inside.
âshow me baby, tell daddy how much you want him.â he sees you look over your shoulders, eyes wide and sweat starting to form on the edge of your hairline.
the cocky look on his face has you tightening around his fingers. him fully clothed, fingers deep inside you while you lay so pliantly for him. you would do anything for this man. and so would he.
âplease daddy, want you to make me cum. need your cock.â gripping onto the bedsheets tighter as you feel him sneakily insert a third finger.
âyeah baby? doesnât seem like you want it that bad. iâve heard you beg better.â he coos. he knows you could go louder â loud enough for him and the other guests to possibly hear. needs to set him straight.
you whine. god. frustration starting to boil and mix with the immense pleasure in your core. you know how cheol is. how he can get mean in bed.
âwantâwant you to fuck me daddy. please. need you so bad. please please cheol,â your voice breaks. you feel his other hand reach from behind to tug on your nipples, before reaching down to leave teasing touches to your puffy clit begging for attention.
heâs a master a multi-tasking. thinks when it comes to you, heâll be a master at anything. anything that makes his princess feel good.
âfuck baby, making such a fucking mess. so desperate to cum arenât you.â at this point, heâs more desperate than you to make you cum. he feels his cock growing so hard it hurts, and if he doesnât cum inside you soon heâs going to lose it.
âfuck baby. show me why youâre my good girl yeah? cum on my fingers and iâll think about letting you cum on my cock.â he rams his fingers so hard inside you, other hand rubbing tight and fast circles around your clit.
âcum for me baby, moan out my name nice and loud while you do yeah? let everyone know whoâs making you feel good right now,â
with his urging, you snap and unravel, gushing out while cumming around his fingers. you scream out his name as you cum, hands turning white by how hard youâre holding on to the sheets.
âfuck daddy, so good⌠so goodâŚâ you puff out as you come down from your high. no time to register as you hear his pants drop to the floor.
âturn around baby, come sit on me.â you push yourself up, only to see him already leaning against the headboard, hand stroking his hard on. grunting. hints of pre-cum glistening in the dim room light. his gaze hard on you as he strokes himself.
you bite your lip, crawling slowly towards him before settling in front of him. he tilts his head, letting his pre-cum coat his length.
âthink he heard you cumming all over my fingers?â cheol prompts. you flush, nod a little, think anyone within a few metre radius distance from the room wouldâve heard you begging cheol to make you cum.
âwait til he hears how good my cock makes you feel baby,â he guides you towards him, letting you hover over his cock for a moment.
âyou okay baby?â he whispers and gets a confirmation from you. âjust want your cock in me,â
the tip presses against your entrance, and like what he predicted earlier, you sunk down his cock with ease, soaking wet cunt welcoming him eagerly. he groans, voice croaky. head so clouded by how snug and warm you feel.
âyou feel so good princess, you feel fucking perfect around me,â he husks. his eyes unable to tear away from you â the way your mouth opens, gasps leaving you as you take him in all the way. the way your brows furrow with sweat down the middle. the blush spread on your cheeks and the moan you let out as you feel him completely.
he holds on to your hips, guiding you up and down his cock. switching between bouncing you and letting you grind on him.
âso fucking pretty, you always take me so well,â his brows stay furrowed, unable to fully process how fucking good you feel around him. feels like he could cum any moment.
âcheol.. daddy..so good daddy,â you moan out, you see and feel nothing but him and him only at this moment. and you want him to know how good he makes you feel.
âyeah baby? daddyâs cock making you feel good?â he raises his eyebrows, head hitting the back of the bed so hard yet he canât feel the impact of it. so lost in the moment â wants you to cum around him, wants to cum inside of you.
âso so so good daddy,â you cry out, hands playing with your tits, giving him a little show as he continues to work your hips on him. his strong hands doing most of the work for you, while you focus on the feeling of his tip hitting and grinding against your gummy spot. the way he keeps creating waves of butterflies in your lower stomach.
âthatâs it, let him hear how good i make you feel baby,â
âshow him how youâre my needy little slut, bet heâs never gotten you like this,â
âno one can make you feel like i do right baby, no one compares to daddy right?â cheol utters out, cursing out every time he feels your walls tighten around him.
ân-no one daddy. only you can make me feel this way,â you cry out. âonly you daddy, only you,â and itâs true. cheol works around your body like no other, like magic. knowing every spot of your body and how to take you there â faster than anyone ever.
his fingers make their way to your clit once again, and you jerk forward the moment he starts to rub messily on your slippery bud again.
âthatâs it baby. only daddy can ever make you feel this way,â he snaps his hips up faster, feeling his incoming orgasm the more he hears you cry out.
âyouâre doing so good baby, taking me so well. you belong on daddyâs cock donât you,â he moans out. holding back on his thrusts, focusing on your clit to make you cum again. knows he wonât be able to hold back any longer if he continues fucking up into you.
âcum for daddy again? wanna see you cum around daddyâs cock. i know you can baby,â his pace quickens and he groans â knowing how it goes, knowing when youâre about to cum. needs to hear you fall apart on his cock.
âalmost there baby, cum for daddy â thatâs it thatâs it⌠feels so fucking good doesnât it baby, look at you.â his words alone bring you to a new high, cumming so hard around his cock, screaming his name so loud you think the upstairs neighbour knows who cheol is.
âfuck baby. gonna cum. gonna cum so fucking hard inside of you baby.â his hands find their way back on your hips, gripping onto dear life as he snaps his hips up into your dripping cunt.
âah fuck, fuck iâm cumming baby, daddyâs gonna cum inside of you,â and you clench around him, watching the final string break as he whines out, and you feel his hot cum shooting inside you, painting your walls.
thick hot cum continues to spurt inside of you as he slowly fucks it in you, pushing his cum deep inside every crevice of your cunt. his moans come in sections, breaking more and more.
he lifts you up slowly before you decide to lay beside him, feeling beat. he extends an arm for you to lay on as a pillow and you smile, facing him as you use his arm comfortably.
âyou were so good princess, did so well for me. as always,â cheol caresses your cheek softly.
âsorry baby, i shouldnât have let mingyu hug me all over like that⌠i wouldâve been upset if i were you too,â quietly, you place a kiss on his jawline. hoping he isnât too affected by mingyu anymore.
âno baby, iâm not mad at you. just hate it when guys look at you that wayâŚespecially if itâs an ex-boyfriend.â he rubs his nose with yours.
âi know babyâŚletâs get out of here? iâll find another day to bring minji out for a birthday dinner..â
giggling, cheol agrees â but not til you guys catch your breaths for a few minutes.

thinking about toxic situationship!heeseung :(
youâre by far his favorite out of all the girls he fucks but heâs too cocky to let you know that. in the back of your mind, though, you know. you canât imagine that he takes his other girls out for late night ramen or lets them sit on his lap and watch him play video games.
you canât imagine heâs as gentle and sweet during aftercare with anyone else. in fact, you really hope he isnât. you hope he kicks out all the other girls he sleeps with as soon as heâs done with them. you hope that he doesnât let them spend the night like he does with you, even going as far as to make you breakfast or take you out the next day.
every time heâs with another girl, he canât stop thinking about fucking annoying they are and canât help himself from comparing them to you. he knows you would be so much better: better at sucking his dick, better at riding him, just your pussy in general was better.
heâd text you when he was hanging out with other girls, not even waiting for them to leave the room but doing it right next to them. he didnât care if they could see, even when he was texting you about how bad they were and how he wished he were with you instead.
heeseung: this blows
y/n: whys that?
heeseung: bc she isnât you baby
y/n: you could always leave and come over :)
heeseung: aww my girl wants me to ditch this chick and come fuck her instead? is that what you want, little princess?
y/n: fuck heeâŚplease :(
he could not say no to you. 10 minutes later and heâs ditched the random girl he was with and was instead pounding you into your mattress, grunting loudly as you clenched around him.
âfuck yeah, baby,â he moaned, hips drilling into you. âyouâre such a good girl. so much fucking better than anyone else.â
and you took it so well, eating up every last word.
he also loved that you didnât talk to any other guys. you just wanted him and only him so, so badly, and maybe if he did relationships, he would choose you to be his girlfriend. but, he didnât date and he made sure you were aware of that from the start your situationship. but the point was, he loved that you were still loyal to him, not even wanting to talk to another guy because they just werenât heeseung. no one did it like him.
no one ate you out until you were squirting everywhere and shaking like he did. no one fucked you until your eyes were rolling into the back of your head and drooling onto his sheets like he did. no one made you feel like passing out from intense pleasure like heeseung.
you liked him. you were probably in love with him. you hated knowing he saw other girls and he loved knowing it made you upset. he loved knowing that you liked him enough to get so jealous of other girls.
again, he would never tell you that he couldnât give less of a shit about the other girls. in fact, he would purposely use them just to make you jealous, fucking them for the sole reason of knowing you would hate it. your jealousy was what got him off because it showed that you cared about him, that you wanted him all to yourself.
he thought about you every time he thrusted his cock inside another girlâs pussy. he thought about how much tighter you were than them. how much warmer, wetter, and more delicious you were.
heeseung liked you a lot too. he was also probably in love with you and he realized that when he was finishing on the tits of someone else and moaned out your name instead of theirs.
-
like sorry i just needed to get this off my chest bc heeseung is FUCKING WITH ME TODAY!!
anyway how are yâall? :3

I think the one I see this most strongly with is Pamela; Or, Virtue Rewarded by Samuel Richardson.
It's hard to read in the modern day. Pamela is a servant girl who spends a lot of time trying not to be raped by her employer, who eventually kidnaps her, and the only other woman in a position to aid her actively helps the attempted rapist to assault her in various ways. At one point she holds Pamela down in bed so it can happen (apparently the woman is this awful because she's an atheist). At another time the employer actively says that he would've continued and actually raped her if she kept fighting him, it was only because Pamela fainted that he stopped the attempt. She woke up from that attempt with her stays (underwear) cut up.
Pamela ends up marrying this man, after realising she has fallen in love with him, who is then 'reformed' by her 'goodness.'
It's meant to be a happy and uplifting tale. Obviously, to us, it's more of a horror story.
We see the victim blame in 'if you'd kept fighting you would've been raped' and also know that being unconscious actually makes you more at risk, and understand that a woman who eventually gave in to her master's advances is not any less 'good' for fearing being violently raped (or worse) if she continued protesting. We are less likely to believe people can be so entirely reformed by the 'virtue' of others, and see a man who would take advantage of power dynamics like that as bad even if he wasn't so aggressive in his advances. There are no real consequences for his crimes and continued harassment of a FIFTEEN YEAR OLD in his employ and who had zero protection or options. It's just all round horrid to our modern eyes.
But in many ways it was actually progressive for the time.
Pamela is a servant who ends the book married (not mistress to) a gentleman with an estate and eventually being accepted and adored by the land owning class. This is a rise of a magnitude far higher than Elizabeth marrying Mr Darcy, Jane Eyre and Mr Rochester, or even Cinderella as she was highborn, and was really making the case that servant women could and do have as much inherent worth as gentlewomen by birth. For how classist 1740 England was, that's a controversial take.
And though it's considered a backwards view now, this was the first novel/work which was really reaching out to lower-class women and saying 'your virtue is worth as much as upper-class women.' I dislike the whole concept of sexual virtue and disagree that Pamela's virtue would be lost through rape, but the point remains that this book was making a case for greater equality between classes in a time where the ruling class relied on being considered naturally better by birth and chosen by god to rule. The novel was criticised for exactly this.
Not only that, but by promoting virginity, he was also championing a woman's right to say no. Pamela's ability and decision to refuse is upheld both positively and as what should have been the final word. The male main character only becomes a 'good' person once he truly understands and respects that. An idea only becomes outdated once the societal framework supporting the status quo has changed, and Samuel Richardson was writing in a time where a servant girl (or any woman really, for instance marital rape wouldn't become a crime for another 250 years) who refused her master's advances would have little recourse or sympathy if he didn't respect that no. This novel was telling all those girls your sexual autonomy is worth fighting for... you're worth fighting for.
And, though we see that Pamela's abuser essentially gets what he wanted and gets off scot-free (an illness and a change of heart isn't going to fly with a judge, you douche), it was revolutionary for the time in that it's told from the victim's perspective as a horrible series of events. These acts, many of which were common place and not illegal (some even actively considered romantic) at the time, was a criticism of many masculine behaviours and championed the woman's/victim's perspective. It drew attention to what we now consider domestic violence and abuse of power. Though we might argue about his methods (a minority of contemporary readers viewed the novel as salacious because of the inclusion of the assault scenes) the author's intent was to actively give moral instruction into proper domestic behaviour. Which, aside from 'sexually assaulting your employees is bad' does also include less radical and actively harmful views such as 'be loyal and loving to your employers no matter what.' Historical novels are a mixed bag like that, but he was still advocating for mutual social contracts towards each other, and rejecting the idea that the rich men who ruled the world could do whatever they wanted. He was speaking for the powerless against those in power.
I'll probably never read the book again, it was too uncomfortable for me, but without an understanding of the time it was written it would feel like gratuitous assault and a glorification of abusive relationships, when really, it was the exact opposite. We're just lucky enough to live in a society where many of his arguments have been accepted both socially and legally for so long that it's hard to imagine a case ever needed to be made in their favour.
tbh nothing frustrates me more then when people brush off classics like pride and prejudice or jane eyre because they donât fit into todayâs modern standards of feminism and social justice etc.
remember that these novels were published in the 19th century. and that some of the things that were written in these books may seem trivial to us today but would have absolutely fucking shook readers in the victorian era
like,,,,,elizabeth rejecting mr collins because she doesnât love him even though it would have been considered her duty in her family to marry him? or jane eyre not agreeing to marry mr rochester unless it was on her own terms? hell even anne brontĂŤ wrote a lesser known novel about a wife leaving her abusive husband with her five year old son to live a better life?? do yâall realize how unheard of that would be in the 1800â˛s?? where women were considered more of a commodity than actual human beings??
even though they might not be up to todays standards of modern feminism and romance, they were still HUGE building blocks for equality for that time period. so if youâre a reader who says to themselves âI read classics with modern standards applied and I canât get past thatâ then you are most likely going to be disappointed when reading classics and not fully understand their significance to that time periodÂ

âthis is dumb.â jinx mumbled. you grin, taking her hand in yours.
âitâs not!â you exclaim, dragging her into the open space. classical music played through the speaker, although buffered and a little distorted, still able to make out it was a slow song.
âiâm not.. slow dancing!â jinx huffs, crossing her arms on her chest. âi donât even know how!â
âthis is a staple in date night. couples slow dance!â
ânot this couple.â jinx makes a hmph! sound, tilting her head up. âi donât dance.â
âcome on, iâve seen you dance when youâre creating your little gadgets.â
âtheyâre not gadgets, theyâre bombs. that kill people?â
âgadgets, bombs, whatever.â you say with a tut of your tongue. âcome on! itâs just us. iâm not gonna judge you.â
âbut youâll make fun of me!â
âteasing you is just what i do.â youâd shrug. jinx groans in annoyance, moving to stomp away, before you grab her wrist. âcome. iâll teach you.â
jinx narrows her eyes at you.
âcome on.. for me?â
she is silent for a second. then she makes a dramatic groan of fake frustration and saunters back to you.
those stupid eyes of yours could make her do anything.
âthis is not out of my own volition.â
âyouâre here, arenât you?â
jinx deadpans. âwhatever.â she makes a tch sound with her lips. âhow do i do this stupid dance?â
âthereâs no right way,â you say simply. you guide her hands onto your waist, your arms sliding onto her shoulders, hooking them behind her neck.
âwhaâ!â
âjust relax.â you say softly, soothingly. with an annoyed huff, she tightens her hands on your waist.
âfollow what i do.â you say. without another word, you take a step to the side, hand grabbing onto her torso to guide her to do the same. âdonât overthink it.â
âwell, i am. this is so stupid.â
âitâs romantic.â you tease, raising a brow. jinx frowns. âjust follow me. alright?â
âyeah, yeah.â she says quietly.
slowly, but surely, she finds the rythm as you both take steps around the open space. and slowly, she begins to smile. enjoy it, as she figures out the steps as you and the music continue on.
she lets out a sigh of relief.
her arms slide over your waist, her arms wrapping around you.
âthis is.. actually kind of nice.â jinx whispers.
âsee?â you beam up at her. âtold you.â
âyou donât have to ruin it by being a smartass.â she grumbled.
you both find silence after a while. you treasured moments like this with herâ where she was truly herself, and not some made up persona zaun believes her to be.
she was soft in her heart. and she was yours. yours to hold, to dance to songs like this in eachothers solitude like nothing else mattered.
because nothing else did matter with her.
.. but, she was still jinx, after all.
she yelped as she stepped on the end of her own braid, stumbling to the side.
and, therefore, caused a series of events. she dragged you down with her as she fell, crashing into a box where her work-in-progress smoke bombs that still had a sensitive trigger.
your eyes widen.
âoh, shiââ
BOOM!
you coughed as smoke filled the room, the sounds of the smoke bombs exploding beside the both of you deafening out the music.
âi told you this was dumb!â jinx waves her hand in the air, coughing.
slowly, the smoke dissipated, and the music started to become louder once more.
you turn over, seeing jinx with powdered ash all over her face, exclaiming in frustration as she brushed off her clothes. her gaze turns to you with a huff.
âthatâs it. weâre never dancing again.â
youâre silent for a second.
then, you laugh. and you keep laughing till your stomach hurts.
âwhat the hell are you laughing at, huh?!â
âoh..â you wipe your fake tears, âoh, just, i fucking love you so much.â
jinx feels her eyes widen. her breath catches in her throat.
âwhatever, dumbass!â and her voice crack is just so damn cute as she pushes herself off the floor, stomping away from the scene. âthis was dumb! iâm never doing any cheesy romantic stuff with you again!â
âhey, date night isnât over!â
jinx pauses. she turns, blinking. âwhere the hell do you think iâm going right now? iâm getting our stupid damn food.â
and you laugh again.
âstop laughing! ugh!â she slaps her hands on her thighs as she storms back toward the kitchen. âstupid dancing! stupid music!â
she kicks the record player to stop.
oh, date night couldnât have gone any better then you imagined.
for @16spades omg this request was so cute i couldnât help myself

âHank, have you seen her?â Logan asks, his voice layered with annoyance. You couldnât help but silently snicker as you watched his brow crease, his nose twitch with frustration, his finger rapping at his side impatiently. The way his jaw ticked as Hank narrowed his own eyes at him made it impossible to hold your laughter, even when you were currently pressed up against the wall â a clear view of the situation going down. You pulled your lip between your teeth as you homed in on Loganâs features, eyes glimmering with rage. It was such a beautiful sight to see, one you have been dreaming of for months. Though youâd never openly admit it, everyone knew, all except him. You had to make the chase worth his while.
Logan Howlett is a force to be reckoned with, everyone told you that. When Charles and Eric first recruited you to teach with them in New York â you thought it was a joke, a cruel one at that. Living paycheck to paycheck in a hole in the wall Hellâs Kitchen apartment, dealing with constantly screaming and fighting from your neighbors, it wasnât where you wanted to be. You were a survivor, you could adapt to anything, but after what you had experienced, you needed a fresh start. Working at a local diner, making shit for tips wasnât ideal, but it was enough to help you save to leave. Where would you go prior to this? You had no idea, but someplace that experiences winter â you always loved the snow. But alas, that dreary November day a few years ago changed everything; It changed you. Meeting Logan on your first day told you everything you needed to know about him â he refuses to get close to anyone, you wanted to break that.
It's been three years since you first met Logan, two since you found yourself thinking he was cute, a year since you felt yourself falling for him, and six months since you started the cat and mouse chase. At first with how standoffish Logan was to you, you started to resent him. A year it took before that all fell to the wayside; Your feelings had shifted when you found him outside one night, crying as he smoked his cigar. Of course, your mutation left you able to turn invisible, able to watch him, without him knowing you were there. Through the heavy rain your smell was masked, he couldnât tell you were there. But it made you feel closer to him; He wasnât some robot who didnât have emotions. He felt them too strong, which is why when he started to slip back into his mind, he pulled away. Being over 200 years old meant he saw some shit, lost people he loved, it took a toll on him after a while. That day forward you stopped keeping your distance, but instead made the effort to be near him, to show him you werenât going anywhere.
Slowly you noticed how Logan started to open up to you, telling you stories of when he was young, his first mission with the X-Men. You got to learn a lot about The Wolverine, and come to find out he wasnât a hard ass â he was sincere, doting, downright admirable. What he dealt with in his years fucked him up horribly to where he didnât trust people easily â but it didnât make him less. He always pushed forward and strove for success, to survive. He wouldnât classify himself as a hero, but he was to you, and he deserved to know. Logan found himself trusting you easily after a year, his lonely nights stuck in his own head turned into game nights with you, strolls through the garden, getting a drink at the bar downtown. He could still be himself, but not have to carry the baggage by himself all the time. Falling hopelessly in love with him was inevitable, but also impossible. Nothing more could happen between the two of you and you knew that â but there was still a flicker of hope in your mind that wouldnât quiet down. Especially with how flirty Logan had become with you.
Usually, he was like this with Jean and Storm, taking it up a notch with them so he could have the last retort. To say he wasnât a ladiesâ man was a lie, he could pull anyone he wanted to. To Logan it was a game, seeing how flustered he could make him teammates â and he loved to win. With you it was different â it wasnât low growls and light touching on your arms, no, it was more. At first to started off to be resting his chin on your shoulder, letting his breath stroke the column of your neck. Slowly it moved out to touches; Holding your waist from behind, rubbing his large hands over your lower stomach, slipping his hands under your shirt to caress your hip. Over the last few weeks though, he upgraded to holding your face, running his calloused thumb across your bottom lip, stealing forehead and cheek kisses before heading out. Rogue and Kitty that you two were dating, even Bobby got in on it â but when you stated you werenât everyone looked at you like you had six heads.
âNo Logan, I have not.â Hank let his eyes pan to where you were hiding as Logan turned away for a moment, giving you a small wink as he played along. After all, this was his idea â well, his and Xavierâs. You had overheard a conversation about how Loganâs cigar smell had been wafting into their classroomâs lately â distracting everyone as Logan taught. Charles had the bright idea for you to nab them and hold them hostage, until Logan learned his lesson. You on the other hand, were far too gone to do that. Instead you decided to take the cigars, but make a game out of it. Little post it notes with clues on where you were hiding, you stored them all over his bedroom and classroom, thanks to Scott. Ever since Jean told you just how primal Logan could get, how good of a tracker he was, you wanted to test it out for yourself. What better way than take the one thing he cannot live without? âWhat happened this time?â
Logan huffed as he ran both of his hands down his face, coming dangerously close to propping his hip against your body. You had to shuffle slightly as he leaned into the wall, letting his head bounce off the wood a few good times. âLittle shit stole my box of cigars.â He looked exhausted, frustrated, and downright sexy. Seeing how lost and irritable he was without them made you smirk, causing you to bite your lip harder to suppress a whimper. You noticed how Loganâs ear perked up as you gulped, his head turning softly. Hank noticed this almost immediately and replied with a whooping laugh. âHa!â You sighed inaudibly as you silently thanked Hank, knowing he used his booming voice to mask your sounds. Holding one of his hands up to Logan, he snickered as he cleared his throat. âIâm sorry that was cruel of me. What I meant to say is, thatâs funny.â Hank let out a small chortle at Loganâs distain, being met with a flash of a middle finger, and claw too. âThanks, asshole,â Logan huffed as he pushed himself off of the wall, running his hand through his hair.
You watched him intently, thanking whoever was listening for making you have the power of invisibility. Being able to listen to everything going down, while Logan has no idea youâre here, made you feel powerful. You heard talks about how your power could be useful, but ultimately not threatening; Now, youâd beg to differ. Though you grew tiresome of the chase, being a fly on the wall versus a real player. It was fun the first two hours this started, but encroaching on hour six â the school clearing out and the sun almost set on the horizon, you grew slightly bored. âHave you tried the library? She likes to hide there.â Hank let out without hesitancy, making your eyes grow wide. It was like an aha moment for you, choosing the most likely place for last. Earlier it was too crowded, people would know you were there the second Logan came looking for you. But now with the young mutants either outside or in the city due to the upcoming weekend, you knew it would be vacant.
âI know her all too well, Hank. Thatâs the first place I looked.â Hearing Logan say that made your heart flutter, made you feel special that he knew you so well. A strong sigh left your lips as Hank coughed, dreamily staring at Logan as you started to walk backwards. Losing your invisibility for a moment, you stood a few feet behind Logan, walking towards the grand staircase that took you to the library. Waving at Hank, you motioned for it as you smirked, causing Hank to laugh. âYou sure?â He asked, nodding behind Logan. As you stood closer to the staircase, you noticed how Logan was sniffing the air â his body growing tense as he spun around. Itâs when he laid his eyes upon you that you knew he was fed up. It wasnât the primal growl and heavy breathing that got to you, but the way his hazel eyes went from green to black in a split section, his chest heaving as he stared at you. âOh shit,â was all you managed to let out as you turned invisible again, running up the stairs.
Everything was a blur to you, running as fast as your body could take you. Three flights to get where you needed to go seemed like forever, when you were being chased by The Wolverine. He had super human speed, a great nose for sniffing things out, he was at the advantage whilst you were at a disadvantage. Even with scent masking, now that you started to sweat it would make you more obvious, especially when the library was empty. Huffing and puffing as you managed two steps at a time, you refused to look back. But you could hear the stomps of Loganâs boots, clearly taking three steps to match you. Silently you prayed to whoever was listening, to get you to the library safe and sound before Logan got you. The last thing you wanted was for him to pin you to the stairs so everyone could see, that was too on the nose.
Reaching the top step of the library, you managed to sway your way through the wooden chairs and tables, giggling to yourself as you were halfway across the room. Due to the grand nature of the library, especially being two floors, it gave you so many good hiding spots. A circular room to see everything, yet hide in plain sight. As you made it over to the spiral staircase for the second level, you had noticed Logan standing at the entrance of the library, huffing and puffing. It made you snort, seeing how riled up he was. You had to admit, it was sexy to see how pissed off he was, causing a fresh wave of your arousal to coat your panties. Logan seemed to have taken note as he sniffed the air, his eyes cutting across the room straight to yours. âCome on out princess,â he growled, flexing his hands at his side. Slowly you crept up the metal staircase for the second level, taking one step at a time to not elicit any sounds. You let your breathing relax, slowing your heart rate as you kept calm, not needing to give yourself away. But Logan could sense you, eyeing the staircase with every move you made. âI got you now.â
A devilish grin fought to claim his mouth as he pounced over the tables, running on all fours as he landed right at the bottom of the staircase. You managed to get all the way up and around, leaving to the right. Multiple aisles of books covered upstairs, as well as the walls, each window let in the dusk light â showing dust particles roaming the air. Your tell-tale shimmer of invisibility was caught in the light a few times, but Logan was too lost to notice. Finding your perfect hiding spot away from prying eyes, you slotted yourself against the endcap of Psychology of Mutants, knowing no one reads these. You could feel the stagnant beating of your heart at times, wondering if it was due to fear or the thrill of the chase. Maybe it was the aspect of it being bittersweet as well; A years long chase with Logan finally reaching its peak. You knew there would never be going back from this, and that was okay. Stealing his cigars wasnât the endgame, it was only the beginning.
âYou canât hide forever you know,â Logan snarled as he reached the top of the landing, huffing as he eyed every shelf. You could see him, nor did you want to, hoping to God he chose to head left instead of right. Alas you were sorely mistaken as his heavy steps started to echo right, causing you to curse under your breath. SNIKT, you heard the metallic sound echoing through the room, but also your mind, causing you to whimper. Logan had unsheathed his claws, holding them out. The idea of him using the claws on you, pinning you down with them, holding them against your neck made your body run hot, your arousal heightening as the thoughts ran rampant through your mind. âI will catch you.â It was not a threat but a fact, Logan was not kidding anymore. The animal inside of him was taking over, leaving the Logan you knew behind. This was all caused because you pushed him to the point of no return, and you fucking loved it. The reverberation of his claws against the wooden shelves made you shudder, knowing how close he was getting now.
Biting down hard on your lip, you placed your hand over your mouth, trying to regain control of your breathing. Being right across from the last window on the right didnât do you any good, especially with the beam of light falling through. If you moved even a millimeter, you were going to be made. Itâs then when you opened your eyes to pan to your left that you saw his shadow encroaching on you, his stance wide as his claws were pointed at the ground. Each gruff huff he let out made your eyes roll back, finding it harder and harder to keep yourself hidden. You couldnât look away from him either, you needed to watch him; How the sweat beaded at his hairline, how his little tufts of hair were wild from pulling at them, how his snarl got more animalistic the longer he tried to look for you. âWhere did you go?â You couldnât describe how Logan sounded in that moment; Primal and animalistic do not even begin to crest.
You focused too much on his tone, completely forgetting your watchful eye on him. When you glanced back after trying to calm yourself, you noticed the 6â2 Wolverine was no longer walking his way towards the aisles but vanished into thin air. Not knowing where he was, made your heart rate skyrocket â panic ensuing all over your body. Goosebumps arose across your skin as you pondered where he could be, afraid to move in case he was lurking close to you. Maybe he went off to the left instead, leaving you by yourself to escape. It would make sense, considering how you heard the creaking of the floorboards on the opposite side now. Letting out a concealed breath, you slowly moved away from the end cap of the shelf, leaving your back exposed. You knew it was a mistake when the hot, stifling air of the closed space became ice cold, a shiver falling down your spine. The sun shifted away in that moment, blanketing the area in darkness, complete with only a sliver of light, not even to cast shadows. The second your back was exposed; All hell broke loose.
Two strong hands grabbed hold of your hips, pulling you back into a solid form. The yelp you let out was loud enough to echo, but not loud enough to raise suspicion. The strain on your powers had gotten to be too much, slowly slipping back into being visible. You huffed out as your back connected with his chest, your hands finding purchase on his muscular forearms. âThere you are little mouse.â He snickered in your ear, pressing his nose to the pulse point of your neck. Logan deeply inhaled at the vein, his teeth barring to nip at your exposed shoulder. It felt good to have his mouth on you, to have him seemingly obsessed with your scent. After all, it is what gave you away. Whimpering out, you dug your nails into Loganâs arm, feeling the reverberation of his snarl through your body. You couldnât speak, you couldnât move â you were a lost cause. âWhatâs the matter, cat got your tongue?â
Logan was mocking you at this point, purposely being a little shit to mimic how you have been with him. When it came to his cigars, he wasnât fucking around. But when he knew it was you who took them, well he wasnât going to let you live this down. Logan moved from behind you, but kept his hands grasping your flesh. Moving to the side, he pressed your back against the end cap again, bringing you back to your original position. His right hand remained on your hip as his left grasped your neck, pressing against your pulse point, feeling the thrum of blood on your veins. The edges of your vision began to go fuzzy due to the restricted blood flow, but you didnât care. Logan was putting you right in your place, and you were obeying so well for him. âI believe you have something of mine,â he murmured; His prominent nose pressing harshly against your cheek. The warmth of his breath on your skin, mixed with the cold drag of his claws against your skin made you shiver, loving how it felt too much. âI donât know what youâre talking about.â You laughed out, clearly laced with thrill.
Logan didnât take too kindly to you playing dumb, the tick in his jaw spoke measures. His grip on your neck was heavier than before, using his full weight to restrict your blood flow quicker, your vision developing black dots. âOh, you donât?â The challenged in his voice said all you needed to know â he was fucking desperate. There was no hiding it now, he needed you â not his cigars, but you. Gulping down against his large hand, you felt the press of his claws against the back of your neck, pushing through the wood of the bookshelf to lock you in place. He would never intentionally draw blood, or hurt you, but he knew this was your deepest fantasy, all thanks to Jean relaying it. His lips were inches from your ear as he chuckled darkly, groaning out against the flesh. âDo I need to jog your memory?â You shouldnât have been as turned on by that as you were. Your knees buckled slightly as you almost fell, your eyes rolling back into your head.
Logan took advantage of your eyes being closed to pull his hand away from your hip. The loss of touch made you whine, but quickly you were quieted by his roughened tugs. Grabbing at the edge of your tank top, Logan ran his claws through the fabric to create slits, ripping them open just as easily. Looking down at your jeans, he could see the bulge in your pocket â where you had hidden a few of his cigars. A huff of relief fell from his parted lips as she cut your pocket open, letting them fall right into his hand. He mimicked your hiding and shoved them into his own pocket, moving on to the next. The cool breeze against your exposed skin made you quickly heat up; Logan using his claws on you made you lose your fucking mind. He repeated his efforts with your other side, making matching holes in his jeans and shirt, not caring anymore.
It was as the last few cigars rolled out of your pocket that Logan pulled back, his heavy body heat no longer suffocating you. The contact was missed, causing you to pout slightly. âBoo hoo hoo,â Logan mocked as he watched you, walking backwards to push his back against the window. The sill right below it was begging him to sit, so he took advantage of it. Reaching into his left pocket, Logan pulled out his Zippo lighter â flicking it against his pants to ignite the flame. It was intoxicating watching him, how effortlessly fluid his motions were. Biting your cheek, you watched him intently, his eyes never leaving yours. He pulled out the precut cigar from his pocket and pushed it between his lips, favoring his left side for it to rest between his teeth. Lighting the end until the cherry burned bright, he took a few quick puffs, blowing the smoke out in a cloud around him.
Your eyes could not pull away from him even if you tried, it was nearly impossible. The way he moved was like silk through the wind, so effortless and elegant; He knew he was hot like this. Taking another quick drag, Logan let the smoke fall from his lips as he tucked the cigar back in between his teeth, putting away his lighter. Reaching forward with his claws still extended, he hooked two of the blades into the belt loop of your jeans, tugging you forward. There was about a personâs space between the bookshelf and the window, making it easy for him to grab at you. Of course, your body obeyed his silent command, tripping slightly as you tried to regain your footing. Placing both of your hands on his thick, warm thighs, you licked your lips. The smoke being released from both the cigar and his mouth captured your attention, making it difficult to focus on what he was saying. The way his motions flowed were so smooth, it was impossible to say anything else to him.
Taking a rather large drag of his cigar, he puffed his cheeks out a bit to hold it all in. It took you by surprise, why he was holding it all in his mouth. Retracting his claws on his right hand, Logan grabbed at your jaw like a man possessed, pushing his meaty fingertips into your flesh. The slight ache of his possessiveness made your mouth part, a pained look on your face that you were lost in. Logan got close to you, his lips only mere inches away from your mouth as you whimpered. With your lips parted, Logan mimicked your motions as he breathed out. The soft, heady tendrils of smoke wafted from his mouth into yours, causing you to let them stir. Tobacco mixed with the sweetness of the wrap caused your eyes to dilate, boring into Logan with pure unadulterated lust. There was no mistaking it as he shotgunned his cigar with you, his smirk prevalent. âThatâs my good girl.â He crooned, taking in your big eyes, the heat of your skin â basking in your glory.
You blew the smoke right back at Logan while he chuckled, licking his lips to wet them as he took another puff. There was something so intoxicating about how you reacted, it was like watching a painting come to life. From the first day he met you, he knew you were something else â he had to challenge you. Almost four years later and youâre still trying to get with him, he admired it. Finally, the silent love he had for you could be shown, but he wasnât going to make it easy for you. You made him work to catch you, now you had to work to get what you wanted. âGet on your knees.â The command fell off of Loganâs lips so naturally you almost didnât catch it at first. Your eyes glossy as you watched him, your brain not keeping up. Narrowing his eyes at you, he cocked his brow as he laid the cigar to the side, watching to see your reaction. âIâm sorry?â You questioned without realizing, your face slack with lust.
Reaching forward towards you, Logan grabbed your neck once more, this time yanking you so close to his face that you felt his breath waft over your features. âGet. On. Your. Fucking. Knees.â There was no hesitation in Loganâs voice as he stated his command, letting his face go rigid to show he was getting pissed off. âDonât make me repeat myself.â You wanted to, every fiber of your being wanted to disobey him, make him angry so he was rough with you â at the same time you didnât want to make him mad, not yet anyway. Nodding to him against his hand, you slipped down to your knees easily with a moan, pressing out your wet bottom lip as you gazed up at him.
Logan rolled his eyes as he grabbed the cigar again, pressing it against your lips. Itâs when you take a drag of it that he pulls out, putting it in his own mouth once more. With his hand now free from holding his cigar, he quickly flicked open his belt buckle, undoing the top button on his jeans as you took the silent command to pull his zipper down. His erection was stiff against his jeans and left nothing to the imagination. He was big, he was hot, and he was fucking turned on. Watching you with a lustful glow in his eyes, Logan groaned as he watched you, never letting you have the last word: âYou may have started the game princess, but I am going to finish it.â

Tulips Review
â It was Sirius who had started it, not in an attempt to replace what you had with Remus, but to remind you that he was there for you.â
âTulips by Elina ( @amiableness ) is quite literally one of my favorite pieces for Sirius Black. Before being a one shot this fic was a series which is how I knew it as. To me it was the Tulips series which means warmth home and is the first fic I reach for when it starts getting colder, rainy and wicked outside. It means so much to me, so much more than words can provide.
As a certified James girl I canât begin to tell you how this fic melts me every single time. I read this fic and am instantly grazed with a smile. I canât begin to express how loving and comforting this fic is to me. I think I read this fic for the first time in February? Maybe March? Point is I read it towards the beginning of the year. Tulips were growing. I know that. I then reread it closer to August because like I said when the weather gets colder it means itâs time to read this fic again. Not to mention that I am quite literally in love with tulips, the flower because theyâre my favorites. But this fic is forever and always one that I will recommend.Â
âYou hardly comprehended the story, too focused on Siriusâ voice and his gentle touch. It was the first time in weeks that you hadnât thought of Remus.â
âł Y/n L/n:
Y/n. Y/n oh my lord. I cannot express how this is a beautiful example of how to write yet another y/n that actually feels like a human? In the fic Y/n is well in love with Remus. I canât blame her because well same. But Remus doesnât love her and well Y/n is left with having to watch Remus be in love with someone else. When I tell you that I felt so seen in the way that was written? Donât even get me started. In the fic you can see the battle that Y/n has with those feelings and let me just say it is so incredibly well written because it actually represents how it is to have those feelings for someone who doesnât return them.Â
â The way that Y/n was written was so comforting. Iâm going to get slightly personal so, hold please. Y/n was written as someone who was facing a heartbreak. Whether Elina made it intentional or didnât even write it to have it be heartbreak thatâs what the feelings were for me. But Iâll save that story for later. As I was saying, Y/n was given so much life and given such a level of connection that it made it so easy to get sucked into the world that was the Tulipsverse.
âł Sirius Black:
ă âSirius' concerned face as it comes into view. "What can I do? What do you need?" he asks, his tone brimming with genuine concern and careâ ă
Guys. Where the hell do you want me to start? How dare I make myself choose? So, Sirius Black to me traditionally never appealed to my taste for reading about him. I didnât really understand why everyone was obsessed with him. I didnât see what the big deal was. Then I read Elinaâs Sirius. Then I understood. Sirius in Tulips is what I imagine the boy youâve secretly been in love with but too scared to admit to yourself to be like. And in a really really watered down way thatâs kinda what it was. Sirius black (Elinaâs version) will forever be the sweetest Sirius I have had the pleasure of meeting. Elina wrote Sirius with such care itâs almost as if she had him sit down with her and write it bit by bit how he fell in love with you. Much like most writers Elina wrote Sirius with such care itâs scary how real he seems. Itâs as if heâs right there with you as youâre reading this wonderful piece of work. Itâs amazing.Â
ââKiss the person you are most attracted to in this room.â Your stomach sinks like a stone, regretting your lack of resistance to James. â
ę° Sirius + Y/n: ęą
Now itâs time to dissect the relationship. Ok when I tell you that when I read that scene, I was trying not to wake the whole house up? Iâm not kidding. I literally could not stop myself from screaming as the scene went on. If youâve read it you know what Iâm talking about. But the relationship that Y/n and Sirius have? It is so incredibly beautiful. Like I said I didnât have any interest in Sirius romantically but when you read Elinaâs writing? You arenât given much of a choice. Sirius was written in such a manner I was crying at the end because he wasnât real. But this is deeper than that. Have you guys seen My Girl? Hear me out. Y/n and Sirius remind me of them. Because spoilers if you havenât seen the film. Thomas dies right? Because he went to get something for Vada? Okay so Sirius is Thomas. Sirius in this fic quite literally did anything he could to help the reader. And when I tell you that itâs squeal worthy when you read it? Be ready to have to muffle those squeals at three am because Elina provides you with the perfect amount of fluff and angst that it actually drives you crazy. The relationship that these two have is so unique and so captivating that you find yourself wanting more and craving the way they both love each other. No matter how much they deny it. Another couple that they remind me of is the relationship Barbie has with the tutor guy from princess and the pauper? Like he was so in love with her and she didnât realise it until much later? Yeah that mirrors how Y/n and Sirius are in this fic and I am living for it. Itâs so alluring and makes you want to immerse yourself in the story. I love it.Â
ââYouâre the only one I thought of.â You admit softly, hoping you donât sound nearly as wrecked as you feelâ
â The quote above is one that had(s) me reeling. When I first read it I was quite frankly stuffing my face into my pillow screaming. I remember reading that scene and looking up at the ceiling asking âwhat are weâ to the air. But now itâs time to dissect that scene. No Iâm kidding now it's time for the love letter to this fic. Tulips as Iâve so eloquently have written is a fic that I hold so near and dear to my heart because it helped me get over a stupid british boy. Regardless if I had been heartbroken when I read this fic or not I know I would fall in love with it again. If you hand me this fic and I happened to have lost my memory I know I would be as in love with it then as I am now. Tulips is an amazing work of art that makes you feel like youâre actually experiencing these things. Itâs as if youâre right there and actually living through the scenes because itâs so beautifully written. Elina, your writing brings me and Iâm sure many others so much comfort. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this with us. Thank you for not second guessing this amazing work of art and not sharing it to the world. If you havenât already read Tulips do yourself a favor and go read it. Read it with tissues though. It made me cry sometimes but cough drops too because you will scream. Tulips will be one of the best fics that youâve read I can guarantee even if you donât think you like Sirius take it from someone who had mild interest in Sirius. You will love it when you read it. Thank you for reading the review!!
To Elina,
I did try to be as unbiased as I promise you I for the most part I really did try. I donât know once you read the review (if you do) youâll be able to tell me if I was bias or not! But Iâm not lying to you when I tell you how much this work means to me. When I first read this piece I had just gone through the worst ending of a really intense situationship. Ironically enough he had a girlfriend while we were talking. And he came into my life saying he wanted to talk and to tell me about said girlfriend. So when I accidentally stumbled onto this absolute gem of a fic while reading one night? I stayed up the whole night and read it all the way through. I was screaming into my pillows as I was reading. I thought I knew stress, but then I experienced stress and my actual feelings on paper and I was proven wrong. Elina, I donât think I say this enough when I tell you how amazing your writing truly is. When I first found this fic I was in shock because I had never once considered I would be this obsessed with Sirius but when I read the first chapter? You had me bewitched. I will say you have a beautiful gift in writing and I am so incredibly honored that you chose to share with the world that gift. But this fic was honestly the beginning for my journey of your writing. I was scrolling through my blog and I had found you asking about dad!james x bsf!reader. I looked at the post for a little and I thought it was familiar and it was, I just didnât know until I clicked it. I began reading all the works you had linked. I canât remember if I interacted but I think I read them all silently and I found myself craving more. Then I made the decision to follow you. I wasnât that nervous to follow because you deserve people to show you that they love your work. However when I would send you those messages? I was so nervous, I would actually throw my phone when you would respond. But then you followed me back? When I tell you I was actually unresponsive? It was crazy. Because I still canât wrap my head around how the person whoâs fics I go to when I feel like Iâm alone, had followed me back. I wasnât lying when I said your fics still bring me comfort because they like Iâve said before are part of my routine. I am forever grateful to have found your piece because I continuously think about it and find comfort in it. So Iâll leave you with this Elina, your writing is so incredibly beautiful. Even if people are stupid and take your work for granted I want you to know how incredible it is.Â

Your affection for Remus had begun almost from the moment you met him. For nearly five years, you found yourself quietly drawn to him. How could you not be? His tranquil and caring nature had eased your anxieties countless times. His unwavering loyalty to both his friends and his studies never ceased to amaze you. The bravery he exhibited each month, whether he acknowledged it or not, left you in awe. With Remus, you always felt secure, as if nothing could disturb your sense of safety.
Monday nights marked your routine study sessions with Remus, a tradition since the start of sixth year. Arriving promptly at his dorm, you were met with unsettling moans seeping from beneath the door, causing your stomach to plummet. Frozen in shock, you raced through possible explanations, with Sirius seeming the most plausible culprit. Surely, Remus wouldn't forget your study night, and the thought of another girl seemed inconceivable. As you turned around, anxiety coursing through your veins, you collided with Sirius, tears welling up in your eyes.
"Please tell me itâs James in there." You pleaded, the desperation clear in both your tone and your expression, causing Sirius' heart to sink. Knowing James was at practice, he couldn't bring himself to shatter your hope. Instead, he grasped your hand firmly and practically pulled you towards your dormitory. Despite the chaos of emotions, Sirius made sure to shield you with his own body, warding off any prying eyes curious about the tears streaming down your cheeks.
"Are any of your roommates here?" Sirius inquired as he halted in front of your dormitory door.
"No, Lily is staying the night at your dorm with James, and I think Marlene is staying with Dorcas." You responded, your voice tinged with sadness as you used your sleeve to dab at the tears staining your cheeks. Leading the way inside, you guided Sirius into your room, where he realized it was his first time seeing your personal space. Until now, you and Remus had been inseparable, leaving no room for Sirius to spend time alone with you.
He found himself a tad nervous, the proximity to you unnerving him in the best possible way. As he stood in your dormitory, the faint scent of your favorite perfume lingering in the air, Sirius couldn't help but feel a flutter in his stomach. It was an unfamiliar sensation, being so close to you without the familiar presence of Remus nearby.
"It wasnât James and Lily in there, was it?" Sirius turned to you, his expression filled with concern as he observed you sitting on your bed, visibly holding back tears, awaiting his response.
"No, angel." He replied softly, his voice tinged with empathy as he moved to sit beside you. A sigh escaped his lips as he settled onto your bed. Sirius knew James's schedule all too well, and he was certain that James was still down at the Quidditch pitch, far from the dorm.
Everything about your side of the room was perfectly you. Your desk was adorned with stacks of books, polaroids capturing cherished memories with friends pinned to the wall, and one of Remusâ sweaters casually draped over the back of your chair. Yet, amidst the familiar sights, a small glass vase seized his attention. Within it, a single red tulip, a gift he had given you a few weeks earlier.
As he strolled around Black Lake with the boys, he stumbled upon the patch of flowers, and instantly, he knew it was meant for you. Knowing how much you adored flowers, often doodling them in the margins of your Potions notes while seated beside him, he couldn't resist picking it. James, catching sight of the flower, declared that Lily deserved an entire bouquet.Â
You werenât taken aback when James Potter interrupted your study session with Lily by presenting her with a stunning bouquet of flowers. However, what did catch you off guard was Sirius' gesture: placing a single red flower delicately on top of your open book and sending you a playful wink.
"âMâlady." He had murmured, and at that moment, your cheeks ignited with a warmth you had never felt before.
Lily filled the remainder of your study session with talk of how a red tulip symbolized a declaration of love while you simply laughed in response.
Sirius glanced over at you, noticing the tear-filled gaze fixed upon your hands as you sat on the bed. He hesitated, the weight of his words hanging in the air. "I didnât know you had feelings for him." he finally admitted, his tone tinged with surprise.
You offered a soft laugh tinged with a hint of sadness. "I guess that means Iâm good at hiding it then. Itâs been a good couple of years now. Probably started the very first day I met him, honestly," you confessed, a bittersweet smile gracing your lips.
"Iâm sorry, angel." Sirius expressed, his voice laced with genuine remorse.
A gentle shake of your head followed. "You donât have to be sorry," you reassured him, your voice carrying a tone of acceptance intertwined with a hint of resignation.
"I couldâve given you a heads up," Sirius grimaced as your head whipped up to look over at him, the gravity of his words sinking in. "Heâs been seeing this girl for weeks. Heâs going to ask her out soon."
"Sirius-" you began, your voice carrying a mixture of surprise and concern.
"Iâm telling you this not to be mean, but so youâre not blindsided when it happens." Sirius continued his tone earnest yet tinged with regret.
This time, you remained silent, your gaze drifting over to the polaroid displayed prominently on your bedside table. In the photo, you and Remus sat beneath a tree, his arm wrapped around you in a protective embrace while your head rested gently on his shoulder. The memory of that day flooded back â discussing a book, laughter filling the air, and Lily insisting on capturing the moment in a photograph.Â
At the end of the day, with a knowing smile, she handed you the polaroid. The setting sun cast a beautiful glow upon the photo when you held it in your hand.
"Câmere," Sirius demanded softly, his voice a gentle command meant to pull you away from the intensity of the picture. He positioned himself against the headboard, arms open wide for you to find solace in. Without hesitation, you crawled into his embrace, nestling against his side. His arms enveloped you, offering comfort and warmth as he planted a tender kiss atop your head.
"What can I do?" Sirius inquired quietly, his gaze fixed on the tears tracing down your cheeks and staining his shirt.
"Help me get over him. Please." You pleaded, the vulnerability in your voice bared as you sought comfort and support from him.
.¡ă.¡ăâ¡.¡âŤÂˇă¡ă.
"Where the hell have you been? You nearly missed breakfast!" James exclaimed, his eyes scanning over your disheveled appearanceâyour hair in disarray and your clothes creased. It was a rare sight to see you, typically impeccably put together and five minutes ahead of everyone else, arriving late and looking rumpled. He chose not to mention the dark circles under your eyes or the absence of your usual cheery smile. He knew better than to bring that up.
Upon sensing Remus's scrutinizing gaze, you cleared your throat nervously and averted your eyes, unwilling to let him figure out that he was the cause of your disheveled appearance.
âRough night.â That was simply put. In fact, last night had been incredibly rough, leaving you worse for wear this dreary morning. Cuddling with Sirius comforted you for so long before you were back to crying your heart out. He was kind enough to hold you the entire time, and eventually, you had both fallen asleep. There had been no discussion on what you meant last night about having him help you get over Remus. You didnât know what you had meant by it either.
You grimaced as the memory flooded back, choosing to sit beside Sirius instead. He wouldnât admit it in front of the boys, but he was well prepared to knock one of them over if they tried to sit next to him. After the trying night you'd endured, he made it a point to ensure you felt at ease and understood that he was there for you should you need anything. Normally, you occupied the seat next to Remus, with Sirius seated beside James and Peter. However, given the circumstances, he understood that you wouldn't feel comfortable sitting next to Remus that morning.
James' gaze darted between the two of you, noting the departure from your usual seating arrangement. He stole a quick glance at Remus, who seemed intent on studying you. "Hmm. Why is it that Sirius has been quiet all breakfast, and now you are too?" he quipped, breaking the silence.
"Sod off, mate." Sirius grumbled, pushing a steaming cup of tea toward you. Despite the gruff remark, he offered you a sweet smile before returning his attention to his meal. Even though the gesture was minimal, it made you want to burst into tears. The fact that he remembered your favorite tea and how you liked it meant more to you than words could express. Remus, however, frowned at the cup of tea sitting in front of you, his expression troubled.
âWhat? I canât make conversation this beautiful morning?â Jamesâs tone was still incredibly upbeat, unlike those around him. Peter hummed in agreement, his mouth full of cereal and unable to respond properly.
"It's storming." Remus mumbled, his gaze still fixed on you, sensing that something was amiss as you avoided meeting his eyes. Usually, you sat next to him, cheerily chatting about another book you had read together.
"Are you implying a storm isn't beautiful? Because I happen to think-"
"James, let's just have a quiet breakfast this Tuesday morning." Sirius interjected, surprising James with the interruption. James opened his mouth to protest, but the seriousness in Sirius's expression halted him mid-sentence. Sirius's deliberate interruption was aimed at signaling to Remus that he had missed your study night. It served its purpose, prompting Remus to acknowledge the missed study date.
"Oh, fuck. Y/n, Iâm so sorry! Last night, our study night, I totally forgot," Remus blurted out, his words rushed and filled with regret as he watched your reaction. You simply shrugged and sipped your tea, avoiding direct eye contact with him. You kept your gaze fixed on your plate, knowing that meeting Remus's eyes would likely trigger another wave of tears.
"No big deal." You replied casually.
"Uh," Remus furrowed his eyebrows, his expression a mixture of concern and confusion as he searched your face for any sign of distress. However, your demeanor remained inscrutable, your face a mask of blankness. "Are you sure? I know you really wanted to study this week with your exam coming up-"
You finally met Remus's gaze, sitting up a bit straighter, "I was able to study, Remus, it's fine."
"You were? But uh-" Remus scrambled for words, uncertain how to navigate this tense exchange. He couldn't recall a time when you sounded so curt with him before.
"Sirius helped me." You interjected, your voice steady but tinged with an underlying tension.
James sputtered out a laugh, his gaze darting between you and Sirius. "He helped you study? Willingly?"
In reality, studying hadn't been the main agenda of the night. Before drifting off to sleep, you had hastily handed Sirius your flashcards from the nightstand, however, your pounding headache from crying rendered you unable to focus properly during his quizzing. So, technically, he did help you study, albeit minimally.
Peter raised his eyebrows, his tone laced with curiosity, "Is that where you were all last night? Studying?"
You squirmed uneasily at Peter's implication. Sirius shot James and Peter a sharp glance, silently urging them to stop talking.
Remus's lips parted in surprise as he shifted his gaze from Sirius to you. "He stayed the night with you?" His tone carried a hint of displeasure that didn't escape Sirius's notice. Despite himself, a slight sense of satisfaction flickered within Sirius at Remus's reaction.
Before anyone could respond, a pretty Ravenclaw leaned over Remus, enveloping him in a hug as she rested her head against his shoulder. "Rem, I thought you were going to try and sit with me this morning." She murmured.
Your body tensed at the sight of her; she was the girl from last night. A surge of jealousy, unlike anything you had ever experienced before, washed over you, catching you off guard. Your appetite vanished.
"Uh, sorry. I had to work on some things this morning and got a bit distracted." Remus's response came with a hint of discomfort, his apology tinged with unease. As you observed the exchange, you couldn't quite determine if his discomfort arose from her presence or the attention their interaction garnered. Quietly, you wished it leaned more towards the former.
Her lips formed a pretty pout, âHm.â
James unabashedly observed the pair while taking a bite of his toast. "You know, Remus, if you ever need relationship advice, Iâm here," he remarked, his tone teasing. Remus scowled in response, clearly unamused, while the girl giggled and tightened her grip around him, seemingly unfazed by James's comment.
You stole a glance at Sirius, momentarily tuning out the conversation to observe his reaction to the scene unfolding before you. Sensing the unease gnawing at your stomach, you instinctively reached for Siriusâ hand, which rested on his thigh. As soon as your fingers brushed against his, he responded by intertwining them with yours, his eyes meeting yours in silent understanding.
"Do you want to go?" he whispered softly, squeezing your hand in reassurance. Unable to trust your voice, you simply nodded in response. He released your hand momentarily, a fleeting disappointment washing over you until you watched as he effortlessly grabbed your bag and slung it over his shoulder. With a tender gesture, he reached for a muffin, noticing that you had hardly eaten.
Then, extending his hand towards you, he silently offered his support. Amidst James's lively conversation with the Ravenclaw girl and Remus's contemplative gaze, Peter looked on with a puzzled expression as Sirius extended his hand to you, a silent invitation to leave the discomfort behind.
"You donât have to hold my bag." You mumbled, rising to your feet to face him, intertwining your fingers once more. Despite the awareness of the eyes fixed upon the two of you, your focus remained solely on Sirius.
"I wanted to, angel." Sirius replied softly, meeting your gaze with warmth. The genuine smile that graced your face was the first of the morning, and Sirius felt as if he had won the lottery.
.¡ă.¡ăâ¡.¡âŤÂˇă¡ă.
"Y/n." His voice sliced through the air, causing you to freeze mid-sentence. But deep down, what had you truly expected? That he wouldnât approach you while you were quietly engrossed in your book in the common room? Your plan of avoiding him for as long as possible wasnât unfolding as smoothly as you had hoped.
"Hi, Rem.â You responded softly, offering a genuine smile. Despite the ache that lingered from witnessing him with the Ravenclaw girl at breakfast, you couldnât deny the bond you shared. After all, he was still your best friend. You couldnât fault him for getting a girlfriend, no matter how much it hurt.
Remus settled into the armchair opposite you, his expression earnest. "I didnât really get to talk to you much this morning," he began, his tone gentle.
You offered a nonchalant shrug, hoping to conceal the nervousness. "Oh. I mean, I wasnât in much of a mood for chatting," you replied, attempting to maintain a façade of composure, though inwardly, you were anything but.
"Is everything alright? Is this about missing last night? I promise that I didnât mean to, truly," Remus continued, his sincerity evident. Leaning forward, his eyes bore into yours, practically pleading for your forgiveness. Despite your resolve, his sincerity tugged at your heartstrings, and you found yourself wavering.
"Iâm not upset about you missing our study night; I understand that things come up." You reassured him as though you were anything truly fine. There was a squeeze in your heart at remembering Remus with another girl, a stark reminder that she wasn't you.
Remus visibly relaxed at your words. "We could reschedule it?" he suggested, his tone hopeful.
A heavy silence settled between you. How were you supposed to tell him that you didn't want to reschedule? That you weren't ready to spend time alone with him right now? Being around him now, knowing you had no chance, felt like a punch to the gut.
"There you guys are!" Jamesâ voice carried throughout the common room, effectively gaining more attention than he had probably intended. Sirius stood right beside him, his gaze already fixed on you. Peter was notably absent, likely engrossed in his studies elsewhere. Nevertheless, you welcomed the distraction.
James huffed as if he had been greatly inconvenienced. "We have been looking everywhere for you guys."
You couldn't help but laugh, "You didnât think to check the common room first?"
"Y/n, please. Donât be ridiculous." James quipped as he dropped into the armchair beside Remus. Remus's gaze lingered on you for a moment longer before he sighed and turned his attention to James. Soon enough, they were engrossed in their own conversation.
Sirius settled into the spot next to you, casually draping an arm over the back of the couch just behind your shoulders. As you leaned into his side and offered him a smile, he felt his cheeks flush with warmth. Your affectionate gestures toward him had always been present, but after last night, they seemed to intensify.
Your proximity never failed to make his heart skip a beat, and his stomach flutter. Despite his confidence in hiding his involuntary reactions to you, lately, it seemed more challenging for him to do so.
He greets you with the softest smile, his eyes reflecting warmth. "Hi, angel," he murmurs gently. Sirius had always affectionately called you angel, a term that secretly held a special place in your heart, one of your favorite things about him.
"Hi." You respond, a matching smile adorning your features, mirroring the comfort in his presence.
"I never got to thank you for last night." You admit, your tone filled with gratitude.
Shaking his head modestly, he insists, "You donât have to thank me."
"It made me feel better having you there with me, so of course I want to thank you." You express earnestly, your appreciation evident in your words.
Sirius leans in, his breath tickling your ear as he whispers, "We still gotta talk about what you meant last night. By asking me to help you get over him."
Feeling a flush of embarrassment, you sputter out a response, "Iâm not entirely sure what I meant. I figured you would know how to go about that."
"Why would I know how to go about that?" Sirius questions, genuine curiosity coloring his tone.
Shrugging, you admit, "I donât know. I just thought you might have. You have way more experience with relationships than I do."
Sirius snorts, a wry grin tugging at the corner of his lips. "I wouldnât call them relationships." he remarks, his mind briefly wandering through the array of flings he'd had in the past few years. None of them had left a lasting impression on him, none of them had made him feel the way you did.
You shrug, a hint of vulnerability in your expression. "Itâs more experience than I have.â
Your voices remain hushed, a deliberate attempt to avoid drawing the attention of James and Remus. Yet, the intimate proximity between you and Sirius could easily spark curiosity on its own. You're practically nestled against his side, his warm breath brushing against your ear as he whispers. To any onlooker, it would seem as though you were lovers, exchanging sweet nothings in a quiet moment of intimacy.
He takes a moment to collect his thoughts, acutely aware of the gravity of his next question. He understands that the answer could severely hurt his feelings, "Are you in love with him?"
Your reaction is swift; you turn to him so abruptly that your noses nearly brush against each other. Sirius silently begs you to linger closer, but you withdraw just enough to maintain a respectable distance. He watches intently as you steal a glance at Remus, your bottom lip caught between your teeth in contemplation.
"No. But, honestly, it probably wouldnât take much for me to fall in love with him." You confess, your words hanging in the air like a weight. Sirius needs a moment to recover, the impact of your admission hitting him harder than he had anticipated, despite mentally preparing himself for it.
You turn back to him, anguish evident in your voice, "How are you supposed to get over someone youâre nearly in love with?" Sirius hears the devastation in your tone, wishing he could convey that he genuinely comprehends that sentiment. However, delving into such explanations would only invite more questions, and that's the last thing he needs right now.
"I donât know, angel." He responds simply, observing as you anxiously pick at your nails.
A quiet lull envelops you both before you speak up again, "I donât think spending all my time with him helps. Maybe I should distance myself a little bit."
"Youâre welcome to spend all that time with me instead." Sirius offers, wrapping his arm around your shoulders and pulling you closer to his side. As you relax into his embrace, you rest your head on his shoulder. For a few precious minutes, you both sit in silence, lost in your own thoughts.
Remus glances over at you, nearly doing a double-take at the display of affection. You have closed your eyes, seemingly oblivious to Remus' stare, but Sirius him. For a brief, tense moment, Remus and Sirius lock eyes, but then James regains Remus' attention.
âSirius?â You ask, the weariness evident in your voice.
âYeah?â
âRemember when you told James to get over Lily that he needed to get under someone else?â Sirius immediately senses the direction of the conversation, and a pang of regret twinges in his chest.
âYes.â
âDo you think that really works?â You inquire, your tone tinged with uncertainty and a hint of desperation.
âFor some people, maybe.â Sirius replies cautiously. He wants to admit that such tactics havenât proven successful for him and probably never will.
You pull away to look at him, your eyes reflecting a mixture of hope and uncertainty, âWould you help me find someone?â
"Thereâs no way in hell Iâm doing that." Sirius responds firmly, his tone leaving little room for negotiation. But before you can protest, he interjects, "Iâll be your distraction."
"How exactly?" Your voice tinged with uncertainty, unsure of what he means.
"However, you need me. I know Iâm not the best study partner, but Iâll run through your flashcards with you whenever you need to study," Sirius offers, his voice softening as he glances from you to Remus. âI know you guys would talk about books a lot, so Iâll read whatever book youâre reading just to discuss it with you. Whatever you want me to do, Y/n, Iâll do it.â
.¡ă.¡ăâ¡.¡âŤÂˇă¡ă.
âYou and Y/n were cozy on that couch,â James comments casually, his gaze fixed on the ceiling from where he's sprawled out on his bed. Sirius glances over his shoulder at him, pausing his furious writing at the desk where he's been hunched over for the last twenty minutes.
âHm. I guess so.â Sirius replies nonchalantly, but his voiceâs a subtle tension.
âAre you sure this is a good idea?â James' tone carries a note of genuine concern, and Sirius immediately feels the weight of his friend's apprehension settling over the room like a heavy blanket.
âWorking on my homework? Yeah, itâs probably my best one yet.â Sirius responds, his tone strained as he tries to maintain composure.
âAbout comforting the girl you love because sheâs in love with your best mate.â James continues, his words cutting through the air like a knife. Sirius freezes, the quill leaving a streak of ink across the paper as his thoughts whirl.
He refuses to turn around and face James, not wanting to see the pitying look he knows will be on his friend's face. Instead, he runs his hand through his hair in frustration, his emotions simmering beneath the surface.
âSurprised you figured it out.â Sirius grumbles, his voice laced with a mixture of defensiveness and resignation. He doesnât want to confront the truth about your feelings for Remus. The mere thought of you falling in love with someone other than him ignites a pang of jealousy in his chest.
He wants to correct James, to insist that you arenât in love with Remus, but it feels futile. The reality is too close for comfort, and he can't shake the feeling of impending loss.
âAbout your feelings? Or hers?â James questions, his head leaning back against his headboard as he studies Sirius, his expression searching.
Sirius climbs onto his bed, letting out a sigh of frustration once his head hits his pillow, the weight of the conversation heavy on his mind. âBoth,â he admits, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
âI didnât notice until today with Y/n. She looked devastated when Adeline was all over Remus. On the other hand, Iâve known youâve had feelings for her for years. The things you do for her, you wouldnât do for anyone else.â James observes, his tone tinged with a mix of understanding and concern.
Sirius doesnât know what to say in response, but deep down, he knows James is right. Heâs always treated you differently, gone the extra mile for you in ways he wouldn't for anyone else. He had just hoped it wasnât so obvious.
James sighs loudly, the weight of the situation hanging heavy in the air, âYou gotta be careful, mate. Youâre gonna get your feelings hurt.â
âIâd rather my feelings be hurt than hers.â Sirius responds earnestly, his voice carrying a hint of determination.
.¡ă.¡ăâ¡.¡âŤÂˇă¡ă.
It was official. Remus Lupin and Adeline Reyes were officially dating. The news didnât come as a surprise; Remus had been bringing her around more often lately. She seamlessly integrated herself into your group dynamic, joining you all at breakfast some mornings and effortlessly engaging in conversation as if she had been there for years. Adeline adeptly kept pace with Siriusâ quick quips and could outwit James with a witty comeback. She was quick to include Peter whenever James unintentionally overshadowed him in conversation and was always eager to discuss the next book you planned to read.
It was horrifically frustrating.
You wanted to dislike her, but deep down, you knew it was just jealousy clouding your judgment. Adeline was undeniably genuine and sweet; you could easily envision yourself becoming good friends with her. However, every time she affectionately pressed her lips to Remusâ cheeks or leaned into his side, it felt like a sharp pang reminding you of your own feelings and the heartwrenching situation you found yourself in.
It left a bitter taste in your mouth. Just a few weeks ago, that was your spot, and you were blissfully unaware of his feelings for another girl. You felt foolish, caught off guard. Was it all in your head? Had you merely romanticized every interaction with him? Built up a scenario that never truly existed?
"Y/n, this is the third time you've spaced out. Are you alright?" Lily's concerned voice broke through your thoughts as she settled beside you on the bed. Despite James's insistence on a get-together downstairs, you found your mind drifting elsewhere. It had been a couple of weeks since Remus and Adeline declared their relationship, and ever since then, your thoughts had been in turmoil.
You shrugged, "I'm okay. I just don't think I'm up for a party tonight."
"You haven't seemed in the party mood for weeks." Marlene remarked, her attention fixed on her reflection as she applied lip gloss. Sensing something amiss, she pivoted abruptly to face you.
"Is this about Remus and Adeline?" Lily's direct question made your stomach plummet.
"I, uhâno." You stammered, feeling as startled as you looked by her inquiry.
"Godric, you're a horrible liar." Marlene remarked, tossing the tube of sparkly gloss onto her bed before striding over to her trunk and flinging it open. "It's okay to miss your best friend. You two are practically glued to each other's sides. I'm sure it's odd not spending as much time with him anymore."
Lily observed the subtle shift in your demeanor as Marlene spoke, although Marlene herself was entirely engrossed in rummaging through her clothes until she emitted a satisfied hum.
Shoving a floral sundress into your hands, Marlene declared, "Here, you're not wearing your uniform tonight. Wearing something cute will make you feel better." Your fingers traced over the silky material, white with colorful flowers scattered across it. Marlene observed as you held up the dress, eyeing the spaghetti straps and milkmaid top with uncertainty.
"It's winter, Marlene." You pointed out your tone laced with practicality.
"We're inside. But if you do get cold, Iâm sure Sirius would gladly warm you up." Marlene chirped, grinning at your surprised expression.
"Sirius is not going to warm me up." You grumbled as you stood up and headed to the bathroom with the dress in hand. With the door shut, you changed out of your uniform. You had to admit, the dress was pretty. Maybe Marlene was right; wearing something cute would boost your confidence and mood.
"Are you sure? You two have been awfully cozy lately!" Lily's laughter laced her tone as she called through the door. You slipped the dress on, then twisted in front of the mirror to assess how it looked. Concluding that you liked it, you also appreciated how it made you feel slightly brighter. It reminded you of a summer spent in Italy with your parents, where you practically lived in sundresses.
You turn open the door and twirl for the girls, who squeal in appreciation. Marlene snatches the lip gloss she had tossed aside, grabbing at your cheeks to dot some on your lips.
"We havenât been cozy. Weâre just acting like friends do." You mumble, your words slightly muffled from your cheeks being squished.
âBullshit! You never snuggled Peter, never did with James before he got himself a girlfriend,â Marlene turned to wink at Lily. âHonestly, you never did with Remus either. But you and Sirius have been all over each other.â
âWe have not!â You deny it, looking to Lily for support. But she only leans back on her hands and sends you a smug smile.
"The other day, I walked into the common room with James, and you were practically asleep on Siriusâ lap while he read to you.â Lily grins.
âHe was reading to you? Thatâs the cutest thing I have ever heard. Thatâs your love language right there!â Marlene's gasp was filled with awe, and you didn't know how to respond. Because you had indeed fallen asleep on his lap while Sirius twirled a strand of your hair between his fingers absentmindedly as he read Pride and Prejudice to you. You hardly comprehended the story, too focused on Siriusâ voice and his gentle touch. It was the first time in weeks that you hadnât thought of Remus.
âIt was the sweetest thing Iâve ever seen Sirius do.â Lily agreed, nodding in approval. âIâm telling you, he has feelings for you. Iâve thought so ever since 5th year. He pretty much confirmed it when he gave you that red tulip.â
âA declaration of love!â Marlene practically sang, her excitement contagious.
.¡ă.¡ăâ¡.¡âŤÂˇă¡ă.
As you reached the bottom step with Marlene and Lily, you let out a sigh. The common room was bustling, with students scattered everywhere, making the air feel stuffy and warm. You briefly pondered what Jamesâ definition of a get-together was, because this felt more like a full-blown party.
âJames said he invited hardly anyone.â You muttered to Lily, who nodded in agreement.
âHeâs a social butterfly, you never know with him.â Lily replied with a shrug, craning her neck to spot James amidst the crowd. She eventually spotted him near the fireplace, engaged in lively conversation with Sirius and a few other members of the Quidditch team. You allowed Lily to lead you through the throng of people, observing the lively atmosphere around you. Marlene had already disappeared into the crowd, no doubt on a mission to find Dorcas.
You can hear him before you see him: Siriusâ hearty laugh resonates over the music and the crowdâs chatter. It's a remarkable sound, drawing attention effortlessly. And there he is, standing tall next to James by the fireplace, a drink held casually in one hand while the other gestures animatedly as he converses with the guy beside him. Clad in a simple black T-shirt, Sirius exudes a captivating charm, and you can't help but admire how good he looks in the flickering firelight.
Though you'd never admit it aloud, Lily had been onto something. You and Sirius had been spending an increasing amount of time together. True to his word, Sirius had been a genuine distraction from your heartache. The activities you once shared with Remus were gradually being replaced by moments with Sirius.
It was no longer Remus, who you sat next to in the morning. No longer Remus, who you reviewed your flashcards with. No longer Remus, who would sit with you next to Black Lake and chat about your latest book. And no longer Remus, who would hold your hand to calm your anxiety every time you had to speak up in front of the class.
But it wasnât like you had asked Sirius to do any of these things. It was Sirius who had started it, not in an attempt to replace what you had with Remus, but to remind you that he was there for you. That he would do anything to make you feel loved. Sirius wasnât doing any of this because he felt obligated. He did it because he wanted you to know that you werenât alone and that he didnât plan on leaving any time soon.
But there were things that Sirius did that Remus had never done. Every morning, a cup of your favorite tea awaited at your spot next to him. He carried one of your scrunchies in his bag because you could never keep track of them, even offering to tie your hair up for you. Each time he walked around Black Lake, he brought you back a red tulip, which you tucked into the vase on your desk next to the others. You were building up quite the collection.Â
Sirius bursts into laughter, but his mirth is interrupted by James' boisterous greeting. The sudden volume jerks your attention away from Sirius, and you find yourself facing Lily, who offers a halfhearted protest as James envelops her in a bear hug. You brace yourself as James turns his attention to you, lifting you up despite your protests about your dress. After he sets you down, a moment of imbalance is quickly rectified as you feel an arm slip around your waist, steadying you against someone's chest.
"He's had a few too many." Sirius whispers into your ear, his breath sending shivers down your spine. You lean into his embrace, relishing the warmth and familiarity of his touch before turning around to face him.
With your palms pressed against his chest, you offer him a warm smile. "Hi."
He still holds onto his drink, but his pointer finger slips under the strap of your dress, giving it a gentle tug. "This is cute," he murmurs, his voice now hushed compared to the near shouting from a minute ago. His eyes meet yours, and you feel a wave of warmth spread through you. No one has ever looked at you the way he's looking at you right now.
"Thank you." You reply softly, surprised at the tenderness in your own voice. But you know he hears you as he smiles before turning back to the conversation he was having with a few other guys.
Pushing down your disappointment, you adjust the straps of your dress and take a breath, scanning the room for someone else to chat with. However, Sirius surprises you by wrapping his arm around your waist and pulling you gently into his side. He continues to talk, his voice much quieter this time, but the three subtle squeezes let you know he's still there if you need him.
Lily catches your eye and mouths, "I told you so."
.¡ă.¡ăâ¡.¡âŤÂˇă¡ă.
You hadn't intended to eavesdrop, it was just a coincidence that you found yourself in the vicinity at that moment.Â
"You know, everyone thought you and Y/n were gonna get together." Peter remarks, nudging Remus in the side. Remus turns to him, likely taken aback. From your vantage point, you can't see their faces, but you recognize their silhouettes. They're seated together on one of the couches, engaged in quiet conversation amid the lively atmosphere of the party. You had briefly slipped away from Sirius to grab a drink, but now you're starting to regret your decision.
"Y/n and I?" Remus's response is laced with surprise, confirming your suspicions. You stand frozen, a few feet away from the couch, feeling your stomach plummet.Â
"Yeah, I think most people thought you already were. I mean, you guys spent so much time together." Peter continues, oblivious to the impact of his words. You try to avoid lingering on the past tense word.
"No, never," Remus hastily interjects. âI donât think I could think of Y/n like that.â His words landed like a heavy blow to your chest. You feel a pang of disappointment and hurt ripple through you, sitting heavy in your stomach. With tears threatening to spill from your eyes, you pivot on your heel and stride purposefully toward your dormitory.
As you navigate through the bustling crowd, your lips utter excuse me, and I need to get through in a mechanical cadence. Each step feels heavier than the last, burdened by the weight of Remus's words and the shattered illusions they bring.
Finally, the door to your dormitory swings shut behind you with a resounding thud, the noise a stark contrast to the chaos of the party below. Alone in the silence of your room, you confront the raw emotions swirling within you, grappling with the harsh reality of unrequited feelings.
Tears blur your vision so severely that you nearly trip over your shoes in your haste to remove them. With trembling hands, you toss the covers over your body, seeking refuge in the soft embrace of your bed. You bury your face into the welcoming embrace of your pillow, heedless of the inevitable mascara stains that will be left behind. A strangled sob escapes your lips, muffled by the sanctuary of your pillow, as you grapple with the overwhelming wave of emotions crashing over you.
The noise of the party downstairs serves as a comforting cloak, allowing you to release your emotions freely and without judgment.
The abruptness with which Remus shut down any possibility of harboring feelings for you cuts deep, like a dagger to the heart. The ache in your chest feels all-consuming, a relentless reminder that you will never be with him. Despite the rational part of your mind knowing that his affection for Adeline precludes any possibility of reciprocating your feelings, the emotional turmoil still wreaks havoc on your fragile heart.
In the solitude of your room, you allow yourself to cry. With each passing moment, the ache in your chest deepens.
"Y/n? Oh, Godric." Lily exclaims, rushing to your side with concern etched across her features. She gathers your hair away from your tear-streaked face, her eyes taking in the sight before her: cheeks flushed and blotchy, mascara-tinged tears tracing down your cheeks, your hair in disarray. She had sensed something amiss when she spotted you hurrying up the stairs, but the depth of your distress caught her off guard.
"Y/n, what can I do? Do you want a glass of water? Can I, uh..." Lily's voice trembles with worry as she looks around the room, searching for anything that might bring you comfort. She's witnessed your tears before, but never like this, leaving her feeling utterly helpless.
"I don't need water. Can you..." Your voice breaks, choked with emotion, making it difficult to articulate your thoughts.
Lily watches as you clutch your pillow tighter, waiting for your next words. "Can I what?" She prompts gently.
"I just need..." You falter, another sob escaping your lips. "Sirius. I need Sirius."
Without hesitation, Lily nods, determined to find Sirius and bring him to your side. As she exits your dorm, you sink deeper into your pillow, allowing the tears to flow freely. Your mind races with questions, grappling with how to face Remus again and feign normalcy.
You're not completely taken aback by his words; the past few weeks have allowed you to gradually accept that Remus may not share your feelings. Yet, processing this realization privately was less painful than hearing his firm denial of any possibility of reciprocation. Perhaps there's a tinge of sorrow in acknowledging this truth, as it signifies a shift in your relationship with Remusâone that might never be quite the same again. Accepting this reality proves to be a bitter pill to swallow.
"Angel," Your body instinctively relaxes at the soothing sound of Siriusâs voice. The pillow is gently drawn from your grip, revealing Siriusâ concerned face as it comes into view. "What can I do? What do you need?" he asks, his tone brimming with genuine concern and care.
Kneeling by the side of your bed, his eyes brim with concern, evoking emotion that threatens to overwhelm you once more. You lie on your side, facing him, your makeup smudged and your eyes swollen from tears. Despite your disheveled appearance, he finds you the most beautiful girl in the world.
"Hold on." He murmurs softly before disappearing into your bathroom. The sound of running water fills the silence, a gentle reminder of his comforting presence. Moments later, he returns with a damp cloth in hand, his touch gentle yet firm as he kneels before you. With tender care, he cradles your jaw, his movements deliberate as he gently wipes away the remnants of makeup from your face, his actions speaking volumes of his unwavering support and affection.
"All clean," he whispers softly, discarding the cloth onto the ground with the intention of dealing with it later. "What do you need?"
"You." You sniffle, tugging gently at his hand to convey your desire for him to join you in bed. Without hesitation, Sirius kicks off his shoes and slips under the covers beside you. With a tender gesture, he reaches out, his hand gently brushing the hair away from your face as he settles in beside you. Your faces hover mere inches apart, a tantalizing proximity that he tries to distract from by focusing on the simple task of brushing your hair away, the urge to kiss you tugging at the corners of his mind.
"Iâm sorry, I didnât mean to pull you away from the party." You murmur apologetically, your gaze meeting his. His eyes snap to yours, a flicker of offense crossing his features.
"I would drop anything for you." He responds earnestly, his sincerity shining through in his words, leaving no room for doubt. A sharp inhale escapes your lips as you stare back at him, the weight of his commitment settling between you.
"What happened, angel?" he asks gently, his eyes reflecting a hint of guilt for prying. As your eyes well up with tears once more, Sirius feels a pang of remorse for pressing the matter. He's about to apologize and suggest forgetting about it when you offer an answer, leaving him momentarily speechless.
"I overheard Peter and Remus." You confess, your voice trembling with vulnerability. Sirius forces down the surge of jealousy that threatens to consume him at the mention of Remus.Â
"Peter told him that everyone thought he and I would get together." You continue, your words hanging in the air, heavy with disappointment and hurt. Sirius listens attentively, his heart aching for the pain etched in your voice.
"Remus told him that he couldnât ever see me like that." You reveal, your voice wavering with emotion. "I know itâs stupid since he has a girlfriend, but-" You pause to draw in a shuddering breath, and Sirius gently brushes away the tears that cascade down your cheeks and over the bridge of your nose.
"It hurt," you confess, the rawness of your emotions laid bare. "That heâs never once seen me the way I have always seen him. Weâve always been just friends, and it sucks." Each word carries the weight of your longing and disappointment.
Sirius sighs, his voice tinged with empathy, "I love Remus, I do, but he can be blind sometimes. So in his head and down on himself that he misses whatâs in front of him. And he truly missed out on the most perfect girl there is. But I promise you that there is a guy out there who will recognize what an angel you are, and he wonât ever let you go."
Your eyes well up with tears again, and Sirius starts to panic that he said something wrong. But then you're wrapping your arms around his waist and pressing your head into the crook of his neck.
Your voice is muffled as you speak, "Please stay here with me tonight?"
"Whatever you want, angel." Sirius responds tenderly, pressing a kiss to the top of your head, knowing there is no way heâd ever be able to deny you.
.¡ă.¡ăâ¡.¡âŤÂˇă¡ă.
James looks bewildered. "You arenât going to sit with us?" he asks, confusion evident in his voice.
You stand behind your typical spot, observing the boys' reactions as they stare at you as though you've just delivered the worst news imaginable. For years, ever since you had met the boys, you had been sitting with them every day. This spot held a sense of familiarity and comfort, a symbol of your friendship with them. Thus, your decision to sit with the girls today comes as a major surprise.
Lily, Marlene, and Dorcas occupy seats further down the table. While they would occasionally join your circle, especially after Lily and James got together, Lily had once confided in you that she valued having space and prioritizing her friendships, too; she didnât want to spend all her time with James. To everyone's surprise, James had been okay with this arrangement and had even agreed.
âIâm going to sit down the table with the girls. Youâll still be able to see me; we can wave at each other!â You offer James a hopeful smile, but he shakes his head, letting out a dramatic sigh.
Pointing his fork in your direction, James asserts, âItâs not the same, and you know it.â
âSit with us, I feel like I hardly see you.â Remus protests and your stomach sinks as you make eye contact with him. Ever since you overheard Remus tell Peter he didnât have feelings for you, you had been finding every excuse possible to avoid him.
Itâs been a week since the party, and you can now admit that you've successfully avoided any alone time with Remus. By now, it's clear he senses something amiss. Every time he tries to approach you, you have an excuse ready for why you can't study together again or why you can't chat. What's worse is that it's only him you're avoiding. You still engage in normal chats with Peter in the common room and banter back and forth with James as usual. And Sirius, well, you hardly leave his side. Wherever you go, Sirius isn't far away, a constant presence by your side.
Not only that, but it seemed as if you couldn't get enough of each otherâcuddled up on the common room couch, shoulder to shoulder during meals, and always side by side while walking to Black Lake. Sirius and you were growing increasingly closer with each passing day.
It was driving Remus crazy.
He looks at you pleadingly, his expression betraying the torment of seeing you drift away from him. You know his distress can't stem solely from your decision to sit with the girls. He started pulling away first, you think bitterly.
"Just wanted to spend some time with the girls, switch things up." You explain with a casual shrug, feeling a sense of awkwardness creeping over you as you shift on your feet. Remus wears a disappointed expression, while James and Peter appear to have already moved on, engaged in a bickering match over who gets the last orange.
"You've been switching things up quite a bit lately." Remus grumbles under his breath, his voice barely audible over the morning chatter in the dinning hall. Only Adeline catches his words as she pulls away to glance at his face, startled by the bitterness in his tone. Unaware of her scrutiny, Remus remains fixated on you, his expression betraying a mixture of longing and frustration.
"Okay, well, Iâll catch you guys later." You announce with a smile, and at that moment, Sirius glances up at you. He wants to tell you how much he'll miss you. Every morning, he eagerly anticipates the sight of your smile, the way you playfully bump your shoulder into his once you take your spot beside him. Your laughter and sweet smile are the highlights of his morning routine.
He'd gladly join you for breakfast with the girls if you asked.
To everyone's surprise, you sling your arms around Sirius' shoulders and tilt your head forward, looking at him from the side. Caught off guard, Sirius freezes in your embrace, trying desperately not to read too much into your unexpected touch.
"I'll wait for you so we can walk to class together. I'll miss you." You whisper, your lips pressing gently onto his cheek. A faint pink sheen of your lipgloss remains on his skin in the shape of your lips, a subtle reminder of your affection.
Before he can respond, you're already pulling away, leaving Sirius to watch you walk back to the girls. His cheeks flush, his mouth slightly parted in surprise. Remus narrows his eyes at the mark you've left behind while Adeline observes the interaction between Sirius and Remus, sensing Remus's agitation.
James lets out a low whistle. "She'll miss you, will she?" he remarks, his tone laced with amusement and curiosity.
âOh fuck off, mate.â Sirius grumbles before taking a sip of his tea to try and hide his smile.
.¡ă.¡ăâ¡.¡âŤÂˇă¡ă.
You sigh, slumping down in your chair, "I donât think I can handle another flashcard."
Sirius glances up from across the table, finding you lost in contemplation as you stare out the window. It's midday, and the sun's gentle rays illuminate the library, casting a warm glow despite the lingering chill outside. You both share the longing to step into the crisp air outdoors, yet Sirius remained steadfast in his commitment to assisting you with your studies.
"Do you wanna take a break?" Sirius asks, his gaze meeting yours as you glance up from the pile of books and notes spread out before you. Your lips press together, betraying the weight of your internal debate about whether you can afford to step away from your tasks.
"Come on, we can go for a walk." He encourages, his tone gentle yet persuasive as he begins to gather his belongings, preparing to pack his bag.
You concede, âA quick walk.â
The fresh air and the warmth of the sun against your skin felt rejuvenating after spending hours cooped up in the library. Your body ached, and your brain felt numb from the relentless studying. The only thing that kept you going was Sirius, who would slip you pieces of chocolate every time you answered a question correctly. Without him, you would have abandoned your studies hours ago.
As you walk, both of you are enveloped in a quiet tranquility, lost in your own thoughts. It's a comfortable silence, where neither of you feels compelled to fill the gaps with conversation. Instead, you simply bump into each other occasionally, exchanging shy smiles that speak volumes without a single word being uttered.
"Where are you taking me, Black?" You finally inquire, noting the direction as you pass Black Lake. You stroll leisurely, savoring the symphony of birdsong in the trees and the distant chatter of other students gradually fading into the background. Leaves shudder in response to the gentle breeze, prompting you to wrap your robes tighter around your body. Winter is approaching, and the biting chill in the air serves as a stark reminder of the season's impending arrival.
Sirius smiles in response, his expression warm and inviting, "Somewhere I think you'll like."
"Have I been there before?" You cast a glance at him, observing his wind-blown hair, cheeks flushed pink from the cold, and his bottom lip gently caught between his teeth.
"I hope not." He responds honestly, his voice carrying a hint of vulnerability. The possibility lingers, given that the boys are familiar with this field as well. The mere thought of Remus bringing you here tightens his chest. After all, you and Remus often took walks together, so it wouldn't be too surprising if he had.
Would Remus have brought you here, though? Sirius contemplates quietly. He's never heard you mention it, but he knows you would have. You've always cherished exploring the castle and eagerly shared your discoveries with the boys.
Sirius is startled when you suddenly gasp, excitement laced in your tone, "Oh my Godric. Is that a field of tulips?"
Sirius feels his heart swell at the excitement in your voice. Before he can respond, you stride ahead of him, drawn to the swath of red flowers like a magnet. He remains where he stands, content to watch you as you explore the vibrant field.
A pang of longing washes over him as he wishes he had Lily's muggle camera. This moment would undoubtedly be captured and proudly displayed above his desk among his collection of Polaroids.
"C'mere!" You call out excitedly, your hand extended towards him. Sirius grins, his heart lightening at your enthusiasm as he walks over to join you. Once he reaches you, he gladly grasps your hand, feeling a rush of warmth at the connection.
You lead him further into the field, your laughter carrying on the gentle breeze. Finally, you drop into the middle of the sea of tulips, tugging him along with you, and for a moment, the world feels suspended in the beauty of the moment.
Tilting your head towards the sun, you sigh happily. "I didnât know this was here," you remark, your voice filled with wonder.
"Found it with the boys a couple of weeks ago." Sirius responds, his fingers idly twirling a blade of grass he plucked from the ground.
"Did you pick the tulips you gave me from here?" You inquire, your voice soft with curiosity. Sirius nods in response, a faint blush gracing his cheeks as he recalls the memory. He's relieved that your eyes are still closed, blissfully unaware of his flustered state.
For a few minutes, a comfortable silence settles between you both, allowing the tranquility of the moment to envelop you like a warm embrace.
"Can I tell you something?" You ask, tilting your head back down to look at him, your gaze soft yet curious.
"Anything," Sirius replies, his voice filled with warmth and genuine interest.
"I've never been given flowers before. Whenever you give me a tulip, it's the highlight of my day." You admit softly, shifting so you're sitting with your legs crossed, a vulnerable honesty coloring your words.
"You've never been given flowers? Ever?" Sirius questions, his surprise evident in his tone and expression. You shake your head in response, confirming his disbelief.
He can't even fathom it. How could no one ever have given you flowers before? How does the girl who constantly doodles flowers on her notes never receive them? The thought perplexes him, stirring a mix of incredulity and a newfound determination to ensure you receive the appreciation you deserve.
"Guess I'll be making up for that then." Sirius decides, his voice showing determination as he sends you a devastating smile. Your stomach flutters at the sight.
"Sirius." you say softly, drawing his attention.
"What, angel?" He responds, his tone gentle and attentive.
"Thank you. For being by my side through everything." You express with sincerity, your voice filled with gratitude.Â
In the past few weeks, Sirius has been a constant presence by your side. Whenever Remus kissed Adeline, Sirius would offer a comforting touch, silently understanding your feelings. He'd weave silly stories to divert your attention from Adeline's flirtations with Remus, ensuring you never felt alone for even a moment.
He grins in response, "There's nowhere else I'd rather be."
âNowhere else, huh?â Your tone is teasing, and Sirius merely rolls his eyes at you, a playful glint dancing in his eyes. You observe him as he picks tulips one by one, gradually assembling a bundle in his hand. Watching him put together a bouquet that you know he will give you fills you with a sense of anticipation. Everything about sitting in a field of flowers with Sirius makes you feel lightheaded as if you're caught in a blissful dream.
Come to think of it, lately, every time Sirius did something for you, it left you feeling dizzy.
"You know it's true. I ditched Hogsmeade this weekend to spend time with you in the library." Sirius says, a hint of amusement in his voice as he recalls the decision.
"That's true, but I did advise you against it. I doubt a day in the library is much of a weekend highlight for you." You reply, raising an eyebrow playfully.
"If you think seeing you surrounded by a field of flowers isn't a weekend highlight, then you're sorely mistaken. Easily a monthly highlight for me." Sirius adds, his eyes sparkling with fondness as he gazes at you amidst the scenic beauty.
âYou flirt.â You giggle, your laughter echoing in the tranquil atmosphere, before reclining on the grass and shutting your eyes.
Sirius' features soften at your playful remark. "Only for my favorite girl," he responds tenderly, his voice carrying warmth and affection as he watches over you.
What started as a short walk stretched into two hours spent in the flower field, immersed in conversation and selecting the loveliest blooms together. By the end, Sirius presented you with a bundle of tulips in various hues. Upon entering your dorm room with the flowers in hand, Lily's gasp was so pronounced that it startled you.
âTell me that Sirius got you those.â
"He picked them for me." You beam, offering the bouquet to Lily for her admiration. "I mean, I helped too, but it was mostly him.â
âWho knew that he was such a romantic?â Marlene gushed, sitting next to Lily on her bed to take a peek.
âI told you heâs into you! Look at these flowers!â Lily cried out, flopping back onto her bed with the flowers pressed into her chest. Marlene laughs from beside her.
You rolled your eyes affectionately, âWe're just friends.â Marlene scoffs.
"No, you're not. That little stunt at breakfast you pulled this morning. Hugging him from behind and kissing him? Definitely not platonic." Marlene remarks, her tone teasing yet observant. Embarrassment floods through you; you hadn't planned on being so affectionate with Sirius; it just happened. You're grateful Sirius didn't bring it up; you probably would have collapsed if he had.Â
"I just kissed his cheek!" you defend, feeling a blush rise to your cheeks.
Lily grins mischievously. "You should've seen how he looked at you when you walked away."
"Totally lovesick!" Marlene exclaims, adding her enthusiastic agreement to Lily's observation.
"Both of you are being ridiculous. He doesnât have feelings for me, and even if he did, I need to get over Remus first." Taking the bouquet from Lily, you stride toward your desk to add them to your glass jar full of other flowers. You're almost out of the room. Soon youâll have to pluck out the ones that are dropping, but you donât have the heart to do it yet.
The girls were fully aware of the situation. You explained to them why you were so upset the morning after the party. There was no way you could have pretended like something wasnât wrong. With Sirius sleeping in your bed and your swollen eyes, there was no hiding anything.
"First?" Lily's voice carries a hint of excitement, exchanging a giddy look with Marlene.
You pivot, leaning against your desk. "What?"
"You said first. Like once you get over Remus, you could see yourself being with Sirius."
"No, I didn't." You protest, embarrassment flooding your stomach.
Marlene's grin widens mischievously as she exchanges a knowing glance with Lily. "Oh, but you did. We both heard you."
A nervous laugh escapes your lips as you playfully roll your eyes, "Oh, fuck off, guys.âÂ
Your friends continue to tease you, their laughter filling the room. Perhaps you were starting to form feelings for Sirius, but you preferred to keep them close to your heart, away from the probing eyes of Lily and Marlene, who always seemed to pick up on every subtle shift in your emotions.
.¡ă.¡ăâ¡.¡âŤÂˇă¡ă.
âThere you are! I was worried sick!â James exclaims as Sirius opens the door to the dorm. Remus glances up from his book, while Peter remains focused on his homework, unfazed by James' dramatics. Sirius, lost in memories of his afternoon with you, barely registers James' words as he flops onto his bed, a goofy smile lingering on his lips.
It's only when James tosses his pillow at Sirius that he snaps back to reality.
âOi! What was that for?â Sirius protests, finally acknowledging James' presence with a bemused expression.
âYouâre ignoring me!â James accuses, crossing his arms.
Sirius stammers, âI wasnât! I was just-â
James interrupts, a mischievous glint in his eyes, âDaydreaming about Y/n? What did you two get up to anyways?â
Remus stiffens, lowering his book to look at Sirius, âYou were with Y/n today?â
Sirius sits back up and exchanges a tense glance with Remus, âYeah, I was.â
He turns to James, âHelped her study a bit.â He neglects to mention the flower field, wanting to keep that memory to himself. Plus, he knows the boys will tease them every chance they get.
James stares at Sirius, incredulity flashing across his face. "That's all? Sounds boring. Should've come to Hogsmeade with us."
Sirius is about to respond when Remus interjects, his tone betraying a hint of disbelief. "I'm sorry. You turned down Hogsmeade to study? With Y/n?" His eyebrows shoot up in surprise.
"Yes." Sirius says plainly.
âIâll ask her to study.â Remus assures, as if that would settle Sirius.
Sirius shrugs, his tone nonchalant. "No need, mate. I've got her."
Remus furrows his brow, considering Sirius's response. "I can still ask her, give her another option," he suggests casually, but there's an undertone of something that Sirius can't quite decipher.
Sirius tenses, meeting Remus's gaze head-on. He's unsure if Remus is hinting at something deeper or if he's simply offering another study option. Nevertheless, Sirius feels a pang of reluctance at the thought of giving up his time with you, even for studying.
.¡ă.¡ăâ¡.¡âŤÂˇă¡ă.
Peter huffed, practically slamming himself on the couch next to you, his frustration evident in the way he dropped onto the couch. âRemus and Adeline are getting on my last nerve.â
James glanced up from where he was sitting across from you, his attention momentarily diverted from the game of cards. His eyebrows raised in curiosity as he observed Peter's demeanor. "They makinâ out in the dorm again?" he questioned, a playful grin tugging at the corners of his lips.
You turn your head to hide your reaction, your stomach churning with familiar discomfort. After nearly two months of their relationship, you still felt uneasy hearing about them together, effectively reminding you of your lingering feelings for Remus.
It would be a lie to say that your feelings for Remus hadnât changed. In fact, you were beginning to notice a subtle shift in your perspective, a gradual easing of the discomfort that once swarmed your chest at the sight of him and Adeline together. That twinge of jealousy you used to feel when looking at them was easing up, instead being replaced by a dull ache in your chest.
You found yourself increasingly preoccupied with thoughts of Sirius, his smile and the memories of your time together occupying your mind more frequently than before. You caught yourself smiling at the little moments you shared, replaying conversations and gestures, finding comfort in the warmth of his presence even when he wasn't around.
Peter shook his head against the cushion, his expression irritated. "No, theyâre bickering. They've been at it for nearly twenty minutes. Couldnât get a damn thing done on this essay.â
James wore a look of surprise as he arched his eyebrow, âTheyâre fighting?â
Peter looked away from the fire to glance over at James blankly, âNo, bickering. Thereâs a difference.â His tone is matter-of-fact and laced with frustration.
âWeâll be quiet, Peter. Work on your essay.â You promise, sending the blond boy a soft smile.
Jamesâ lips curve in a mischievous grin, eyes lit up with amusement, âGuess all relationships have to come out of the honeymoon phase.â He quips, tone playful with satisfaction. Peter sighs, tipping his head back onto the headrest of the couch like he canât take anymore.
âJames, itâs your turn.â You call, the gentle tap of your pointer finger against the cards catches his attention. His eyes flicker down to the cards sprawled between you both before glancing back up at you.
âDid you at least appreciate my pun?â He asks, a hopeful upturn of his lips present.
âIt was wonderful.â You affirm, voice soft as if youâre telling a young child that their artwork is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen.
Jamesâs face lights up with a satisfied smile, and his voice is full of teasing gratitude, âThank you, Y/n. I knew you would have my back.â
âWhat does she have your back about?â Siriusâ voice cuts through the air, his sudden appearance causing you and James to glance over at him. Peter opens one eye as Sirius sits on the couch next to him.
James stares at the cards while debating his next move, âShe appreciates me for who I am. Maybe you should take some notes from her.âÂ
Sirius hardly hears James. Instead, his eyes flicker over to you. He finds himself entranced by the subtle movements of your features, the way your eyebrows furrow in playful impatience as you await James to decide. The glow from the fire is dancing over your face, and he has the urge to reach out and touch your cheek, tracing over where the heat has touched. You look gorgeous like this, drenched in the soft light of the fire and so at ease. The words are at the tip of his tongue, but he swallows them down.
As your eyes meet his, a gentle smile graces your lips, and Sirius feels his stomach flip and heart stutter. Youâre looking at him with so much warmth that you could rival the fire next to you, and he knows he never wants to forget the way youâre looking at him.
Amidst the crackle of the fire and the soft murmurs of the surrounding conversations, itâs then that Sirius is struck by the sudden realization that sends shockwaves throughout his entire body. He is hit with the truth that heâs been avoiding for ages; he is entirely and desperately in love with you.
Sirius grapples with a fact that feels almost suffocating in its intensity. His gaze falls to his lap, the reality of his situation weighing heavily upon him. Heâs in love with a girl who holds feelings for someone else. Not just someone else, but Remus. His best mate, who, as of lately, has shown increasing concern about the nature of your relationship with Sirius. The way he pinches his brows together when you laugh at a joke Sirius makes, the subtle shifts in his demeanor whenever you show Sirius affection- itâs all Sirius can focus on. Remus sees you in a different light, and itâs making Sirius uneasy.
And so, he sits in silence, grappling with the truth that heâs fallen for a girl that will never be his.
âSirius,â You say softly, your hand gently resting atop his, hoping to bring him back from his thoughts. His eyes dart up to meet yours, and you smile softly. âYou okay? Youâre quiet.â
No, he isnât.Â
But instead, he offers a reassuring smile and squeezes your hand, âIâm okay, angel. Just tired.â
âNot too tired to lose to me in cards, are you?â James interjects, sporting a cocky grin and cracking his knuckles in intimidation. âIâm tired of playing with Y/n. She wins every time.â
Sirius laughs, hauling himself off the couch to sit beside you both before shuffling the cards.
.¡ă.¡ăâ¡.¡âŤÂˇă¡ă.
âY/n.â You startle at Remusâ voice, nearly spilling your cup of tea down your front. He sends you a soft smile, sitting beside you on the couch. You set your tea on the table next to you. Sitting up and shifting your legs to the side and underneath you, you make room for him. The way you were stretched out before hardly allowed him any room.
âRem.â You greet him, sending him a gentle smile. The corners of his mouth lift at the nickname; he hasnât heard it for a while.
He leans back against the couch, gaze firm on you, âHow was your day?â His voice is gentle and soothing. His voice was always one of your favorite things about him, always a source of comfort to you.
âItâs been alright, not too much to say about it,â Your left shoulder lifts up into a shrug, and you rest your right arm against the couch to prop your head up. Bodies both facing each other. âHow was yours?â
âJames nearly singed off my eyebrows in potions,â He says amusedly. Heâs got bags under his, and his body seems tired. You cringe when you remember the full moon was just a few days ago.
âNot entirely surprising,â You remark with a laugh, mind trailing to all the times James had proved himself not the best partner. As much as you loved James, his tendency to get distracted had cost you during classes plenty of times before.Â
âHowâs Adeline?â You ask politely, the words coming out with practiced ease despite the uncomfortable feeling in your stomach. Remusâs smile falters, and he lets out a sigh, gaze drifting away from you.
âI donât know.â He admits, hand coming up to run through his hair. He wonât meet your eye.
âYou donât know?â Your brow is quirks in curiosity, and genuine concern is etched onto your features. Memories of Peter complaining about the two bickering flickers back from a week ago.
âSheâs not happy,â Remus confesses, his tone is heavy with resignation. âDisappearing for a couple days doesnât exactly make me boyfriend of the year.â
You nod sympathetically. You understand, if you were in the dark about your boyfriendâs whereabouts for a couple days, you would be upset as well.
âAre you going to tell her?â You asked gently. It felt weird to talk to Remus again after going nearly two months without much interaction. All your time used to be spent with Remus, but Sirius seems to have taken that spot nowadays.
His gaze meets yours as he nervously bites at his bottom lip, he seems apprehensive, âI donât know if she could handle it.â
âRem,â You begin, voice soft and resolute, a reflection of the support you have always offered him. Despite the change in your relationship, your commitment to being there for him remains. âShe deserves to know, especially if the two of you want to be together.â
His brows are pinched tightly together as he wrings his hands together, âWhat if she doesnât take it well? What if she tells-â
You interject gently, âYouâve been dating two months, you should have a feel for how she would react.âÂ
He meets your eye with an uncertainty, âY/n.â
âYeah?â You respond, voice quiet.
âI donât know if I can tell her. I donât think it will be as easy as telling you was.â
âYou shouldnât compare her to me.â
âBut I do.â Remus whispers, the gravity of his admission catching you off guard. His shoulders are hunched over as he rests his elbows on his knees, hands still nervously wringing together as he looks over at you.
Your breath is caught in your throat. You break eye contact to clear your throat, shifting uneasily on the couch.
âAdeline is your girlfriend, and Iâm just your friend. You really shouldnât compare us, Rem. If you want to be with Adeline, you should really think about telling her.â You murmur, truth stinging as it leaves your mouth.
.¡ă.¡ăâ¡.¡âŤÂˇă¡ă.
Marlene sighs, her voice laced with playful incredulity, "Sometimes I wonder how James Potter managed to get you." Sirius barks out a laugh from his spot across from you, his amusement echoing around the room. Lily's mischievous grin widens as she shoots a playful wink at Marlene, enjoying the banter.
"I'm a damn catch, McKinnon!" James retorts dramatically, pulling Lily even closer into his side, the affection between them palpable. Lily leans up to press a kiss on Jamesâ jaw, a tender moment amidst the playful teasing.
"That lapdance you just gave your girlfriend? Horrific." Marlene shakes her head with exaggerated disdain, her expression a mix of amusement and mock disgust.
"If you didn't wanna see it, then you wouldn't have dared me to do it," James fires back with a smirk, the competitive edge still in his tone.
You're all gathered in a circle, indulging in a juvenile game of truth or dare. The boys took charge, rearranging the furniture into a circle so everyone could sit comfortably.
Marlene had insisted upon it, likely hoping to be roped into a dare that would bring her closer to Dorcas.Â
You're seated on one of the couches beside Lily, with James on her other side and Peter beside him. Adeline occupies the space to Peterâs left, seated next to Remus on one of the smaller couches. Sirius has claimed an armchair for himself. Marlene and Dorcas are cozied up in another armchair, much to Marlene's delight over the seating arrangement.
While Remus had yet to tell Adeline about his lycanthropy, he was attempting to make amends with her. You sent him a sweet smile and thumbs up when you saw them walking in together. It was clearly tense between the two, but that was to be expected.
Amidst the laughter and playful exchanges, you had failed to notice the tension simmering between Sirius and Remus, evident in the disgruntled glances they exchanged at being seated next to each other.
James turns to you with a devious grin, âMy sweet Y/n, you will be picking dare.â
âExcuse me? You canât pick for me!â You retort, sending James an incredulous look.
âBut I have the best dare for you!â James insists, leaning closer with a mischievous glint in his eye.
âNo.â You refuse, shaking your head slightly.
âY/n, please.â He pleads, attempting to send you puppy dog eyes. Marlene snorts from beside you.
Lily sighs, âY/n, do the dare. He will beg you all night.â You roll your eyes, letting out a sigh that immediately lets James know you have given in.
âKiss the person you are most attracted to in this room.â Your stomach sinks like a stone, regretting your lack of resistance to James. The group around you comes alive with oohs, except for Remus and Sirius, who sit uneasily, their expressions displaying discomfort.
âAbsolutely not. I canât!â Sirius feels sick. Youâre refusing because you canât kiss Remus- that has to be it.Â
âSorry, canât back out now! Make your way over to the lucky person.â James sounds far too cheery to be sorry.
The tension in the air becomes palpable as everyone awaits your decision. You draw in a deep breath, summoning your courage before rising to your feet and crossing the room toward him. The anticipation is almost tangible as your friends murmur excitedly, their eyes fixed on you.
You come to a sudden halt, feeling your knees bump against his as he instinctively sits straighter in his chair. Sensing your approach, he spreads his thighs slightly, silently inviting you to take the space between them. His demeanor shifts, a mix of anticipation and apprehension evident in his expression.
"Might make it easier if you sit in his lap." Marlene suggests with a mischievous grin, earning a pointed glare from you over your shoulder.
"You can, angel," he murmurs sweetly, reaching out to gently grasp your hand, his touch reassuring and electric.Â
You let out a shaky sigh, feeling a rush of nerves as you ease yourself into his lap, your knees sinking into the cushion and your thighs naturally bracketing his. Ignoring the whistles and playful comments that ring out from your friends, you focus on the warmth of his body beneath you, the steady rhythm of his breath, and the way his hands hover uncertainly before settling lightly on your hips.
"We're waiting!" James calls out, amusement laced in his tone, his eyes sparkling with mischief. Feeling a rush of determination, you gently bring your hand to his cheek, the warmth of his skin sending a shiver down your spine and lowering your head towards his. He's quick to meet you, his breath mingling with yours, noses bumping softly in a moment of sweet anticipation.
He's patient, his breath mixing with yours as he waits for you to make the first move. With a tender touch, you tilt your face closer, feeling the gentle brush of your lips against his in the softest kiss. For a fleeting moment, you both linger there, foreheads pressed together, lost in the momentâs intimacy.
âTell me this isnât because you couldnât kiss him.â His voice is raspy, filled with longing, sending your mind spiraling. His voice is quiet, ensuring that no one will hear him but you.
âYouâre the only one I thought of.â You admit softly, hoping you donât sound nearly as wrecked as you feel.
Sirius surges forward, his lips meeting yours with a passion that catches you off guard, causing a surprised moan to settle in your throat, lost in the whirlwind of sensations and emotions. Your friends' whistles and hollers fade into the background, overshadowed by the intensity of your focus on Sirius.
Your fingers weave through his hair, a silent plea to draw him closer, to merge the space between you. His hand glides from your hip, settling tenderly against your cheek, his thumb tracing gentle circles across your skin. When you roll your hips involuntarily, Sirius lets out a tortured groan and your blood simmers.
"Okay, okay! We've seen enough!" James hollers, his voice breaking you both out of the moment. As James's voice echoes through the air, you part from Sirius, the gravity of what you have both just done settles in. Your chests heave in unison, lips swollen from kisses and cheeks flushed.
Frozen, you and Sirius sit there, stunned, oblivious to the teasing of your friends. The air crackles with tension as you both lock gazes, the desire to lean in and kiss him again overwhelming you.
.¡ă.¡ăâ¡.¡âŤÂˇă¡ă.
Your mind remains frazzled in the aftermath of kissing Sirius. No matter how much you attempt to push it away, it's as though your body stubbornly clings to the memory of his lips upon yours, as if you're still nestled in his lap, feeling the gentle pressure of his hands on your hips. Both of you exchanged shy smiles as you gently slid off his lap, yet inside, your stomach churned with disappointment at the prospect of returning to your previous seat. Truthfully, you wanted to linger longer, to settle beneath his arm, and remain close to him.
In all honesty, Remus didn't even flicker into your thoughts when James issued his dare. The realization of this truth sends a shiver down your spine. When had Sirius managed to steal the place in your thoughts that Remus had held for so long?
Perhaps it was in the way he had cared for you like no one else ever had.
The sight of a steaming cup of tea, reliably waiting for you in your designated spot at the table. Even when he could have been enjoying himself in Hogsmeade, he chose to stay behind and help you study, just because you mentioned not having Remus to study with. And the simple yet heartfelt gesture of presenting you with fresh tulips just because you mentioned you had never gotten flowers before.
How had you moved on from Remus without even noticing? Perhaps that subtle ache in your chest whenever you glanced at Remus and Adeline stemmed from the change in friendship between you both. Maybe those tear-filled initial weeks spent with Sirius comforting you were a form of grieving the relationship that could never be with Remus.Â
While Sirius helped you to get over Remus, he had been gently guiding you toward developing feelings for him instead without even realizing it.
After watching your kiss with Sirius, Remus withdrew from the game entirely. The memory of your intimate moment with Sirius replayed incessantly in his mind, each repetition adding to the sting in his chest. In a fleeting moment of vulnerability, he had allowed himself to entertain the hope that it might have been him you chose to kiss. However, the presence of Adeline at his side swiftly extinguished that flicker of optimism, leaving him feeling profoundly disappointed and conflicted with himself.
The sight of Sirius enveloping you in his arms, and the undeniable chemistry between the two of you, stirred a thick feeling of dread in his stomach.
Each soft kiss, each exchanged glance, seemed to intensify the bitter pang of jealousy gnawing at his insides. It was as though a veil had been lifted, revealing a reality he had been trying to denyâthe depth of his feelings for you. And the realization that he might lose you for good.
"Remus! Truth or dare?" Dorcas inquired, her eyes alight with mischief.
Remus let out a resigned sigh; he wasn't particularly in the mood to deal with a dare.
"Truth," he replied, hoping for a relatively simple question.
Dorcas wasted no time in posing her question, a soft smile playing on her lips. "Who was your first big crush?"
The simplicity of the question drew an immediate protest from James. "Lame!" he squawked, his tone dripping with dissatisfaction. "Ask him something better."
Marlene swiftly came to Dorcas's defense, her voice laced with defiance. "Back off, James," she retorted sharply. "She can ask whatever the hell she wants,â She bit out before turning to Dorcas. âGreat question, love." Her words sounded entirely lovesick.
"Uh, my first big crush was Y/n." Remus confessed, his gaze darting toward you, eager to gauge your reaction amidst the tension. However, he failed to notice the subtle tensing of Adeline beside him, her expression morphing into one of disbelief as his words hung in the air.
Your brows furrowed, a mixture of confusion and frustration etched across your features as you processed Remus's unexpected admission. The weight of his words lingered, casting a palpable awkwardness over the group as you responded with an unimpressed look.
Sirius felt a surge of nausea rising within him, his gaze narrowing at Remus before anxiously darting over to you, waiting with bated breath to see how you would react to Remus's unexpected confession. Each second felt like an eternity as he searched for any sign of your thoughts or emotions, his heart pounding in his chest with a mixture of dread and anticipation.
As he watched your expression carefully, Sirius couldn't help but wonder what you were thinking. Were you filled with hope at his confession? Did you still want him?
âThatâs not funny, Rem.â You retort, sending him an entirely unimpressed look.
âIâm not joking.â He insists, his voice has a hint of vulnerability in it. Adeline sends him an incredulous look, but his eyes are solely trained on you.
âThatâs bullshit.â You countered, your voice laced with frustration as you pushed back. The tension between you and Remus was palpable, your friends watching both of you carefully. Unsure if they should intervene or not.
âItâs not. Started fourth year, I liked you for years.â Remus confesses, hand tugging through his hair in frustration.
âYou said you would never have feelings for me.â Your brows are pinched in disbelief, your voice filled with hurt and frustration.
Remus looks entirely confused, âWhat are you talking about?â
âWith Peter! At the party like a month ago.â You exclaim, memory fresh in your mind. While your feelings for Remus may have faded, the pain from his words hadnât.
Remus shakes his head slowly, eyes searching yours for understanding, âI never said that, love.â
âYou did. You told Peter, âI donât think I could ever think about Y/n like that.ââ You reiterated, your voice tinged with disappointment as Remusâs expression faltered, his own words echoing back to him.
âYou didnât hear the rest then.â He says, his voice filled with regret and desperation for you to understand.
Your frustration has bubbled to the surface, âOh, great. So glad I didnât stay to hear you continue about how awful it is that everyone thought we would end up together.â Your words are a mixture of sarcasm and hurt
"Y/n, I-" Remus began, his voice trailing off as you cut him off with a sharp interruption.
"Do you know what that feels like? To hear your best friend talk about you with so much disgust?" you demanded, the hurt evident in your voice as you confronted him head-on.
"I wasnât disgusted!" Remus protested, his own frustration rising to meet yours. "You didnât hear the rest!" he insisted, his tone tinged with desperation as he struggled to convey his side of the story.
"What else did you say?" It was Adeline who broke the tense silence, her voice cutting through the air like a knife. Remus's gaze shifted to her, startled by her sudden interjection. Her expression was one of disbelief, her brows furrowed and her arms crossed tightly over her chest, a silent testament to her own confusion and dismay at the unfolding situation.
"I said I didnât think I could think about you like that because of-" Remus's voice faltered, his words hanging in the charged air. You leaned forward, your frustration palpable as you awaited his explanation, your gaze unwavering as you demanded clarity.
"Because of what, Remus?" You pressed, the tension thickening with each passing moment. Remus's eyes darted briefly to Sirius, a flicker of hesitation betraying his inner turmoil, but you caught the movement.
Sensing the rising tension, you glanced over at Sirius, who watches Remus with a tense look. His expression carried a silent message. Urging Remus to choose his words carefully.
âDonât you fucking dare.â Sirius grits out, his voice laced with a raw edge of warning. Remus's uncertainty is evident as he grapples with what heâs just implied.
âDo you still have feelings for her?â Adeline's voice trembles with devastation as she poses the question, her heart laid bare in the vulnerability of the moment. Sirius's reaction is immediate; he stands up abruptly, his movements tense with unspoken frustration as he strides towards the stairs, refusing to linger for Remus's response.
âSirius.â You call out desperately, rising to your feet swiftly to intercept him. He starts heading for his dorm, but you gently grab his wrist and guide him toward yours instead. Without a word, he follows your lead until you reach your door, both of you stepping inside quietly.
Sirius doesnât utter a word, his silence filling the space between you as he leans back against your door. His head tilts upward, his gaze fixed on the ceiling as if searching for answers in its expanse.Â
You step closer, closing the distance between you, your footsteps echoing softly in the quiet room. With a gentle touch, you place your hand on his cheek, a tender gesture designed to draw his attention back to you. You find yourself more preoccupied with Sirius than the recent events downstairs. Dealing with the situation involving Remus can wait; at this moment, your main concern is resolving things with Sirius.
He lets out a sigh, the weight of his emotions palpable as he drops his gaze from the ceiling to meet yours. "I'm sorry," he murmurs, his voice laced with a mixture of remorse and vulnerability.
You can't help but laugh incredulously at his apology, the sound carrying a blend of surprise and amusement. "What are you sorry for?" You inquire, your tone gentle yet tinged with curiosity, as you search his eyes for the answer.
He sighs, âThat you found out this way.â
âAbout what?â You both know that you already know the answer but that you just want him to say it.
âAbout Remusâs feelings for you, about my feelings for you.â Sirius admits, his voice soft as he swallows harshly.
You take a deliberate step closer to him, closing the gap between you with a sense of purpose. "And what are your feelings for me?" you repeat, your tone carrying a playful lilt, a silent challenge lingering in your words, daring him to bare his heart to you.
"Y/n," he pleads softly, his hands instinctively finding their place on your hips, drawing you closer to him just an inch. âRemus pretty much spelled it out, didnât he?â
"I donât want to hear it from Remus, I want to hear it from you.â You assert, your voice tinged with determination as you press closer to him. His eyes flit down to the diminishing space between your bodies.
He sighs, a soft exhalation laden with unspoken emotions, âYou drive me crazy.â He confesses, shaking his head in gentle disbelief. A grin spreads across your face, your heart lightening at the familiar banter between you.
"Yeah? Is that all?" you tease, a playful glint in your eyes as your arms rise to encircle his neck, drawing him closer.
His gaze softens, a hint of vulnerability shining through as he meets your eyes. "Iâm crazy about you, have been since the moment I met you." He confesses, his voice filled with sincerity and warmth.
His words ignite a flutter of excitement in the pit of your stomach, a giddiness that bubbles up from within. Unable to contain the surge of emotions, you rise onto your toes, closing the gap between you as your lips meet his in a gentle kiss. He lets out a surprised hum, circling his arms around your waist and hauling you into him.
He pulls back slightly, resting his forehead on yours, his expression tinged with uncertainty, "Y/n,â He murmurs, his voice laced with apprehension, âI canât do this if you still want Remus.â
You pull back slightly, creating a small space between you yet maintaining the intimacy of your connection as you gaze into his eyes. "Do you think I would have followed you if I still wanted Remus?" You inquire softly, your voice imbued with sincerity.
"I meant every word when I told you that you were the only one I thought of for Jamesâ dare." You continue, your words carrying a gentle reassurance, seeking to dispel any lingering doubts or insecurities that may linger between you.
"I want you, Sirius." You whisper earnestly, your voice soft yet resolute, laying bare your desires and intentions as you seek clarity and connection with him.
The smile he gives you is radiant, brimming with unabridged happiness, illuminating his features with an undeniable warmth that reflects the depth of his emotions.
"I've been dreaming of you saying that for ages." You squeal with uncontainable delight as he dips down and scoops you up, your legs instinctively circling his waist. Together, you embark on a journey towards your bed, his steps sure and purposeful, each movement imbued with a sense of anticipation and excitement.
He settles onto the bed, seating you gently in his lap, and you can't help but giggle uncontrollably, the sound filling the room with infectious joy as you revel in the sheer exhilaration of the moment shared between you.
As you lean down and press your lips onto his, he exhales softly, as if shedding all his worries, finding true peace in the gentle brush of your lips against his. He's never encountered a feeling of rightness as profound as this throughout his life. He is completely done for.
.¡ă.¡ăâ¡.¡âŤÂˇă¡ă.
Lily and Marlene didn't return to the dorm last night. After the awkward end to your game of truth or dare, you assumed they were giving you some space. And frankly, you were grateful for it.Â
You weren't eager to delve into the topic of Remus confessing his past feelings for you. Although he didn't explicitly reveal whether or not those feelings still lingered, the reactions from both Adeline and Sirius served as a telling response.
You knew that a conversation with Remus was inevitable. Yet nervousness gnawed at you. What if there was no salvaging what remained of your friendship? Despite the awkwardness of the past few months, the desire to keep him in your life persisted, making the conversation all the more important.
The night unfolded with you and Sirius intertwined, lost in stolen kisses and hushed conversations within the dimly lit dorm. You had never felt so content in your whole life. Being with Sirius felt like a breath of fresh air. There were no lingering doubts about his feelings; his actions spoke volumes, leaving no room for uncertainty. Reflecting on the past, you couldn't help but wonder how you had ever been so blind to his affections.
âYou almost ready mâlove?â Sirius called, casting a glance your way as he deftly tied his tie in front of your mirror.
His endearment sent a flutter through your heart. It felt as though the kiss with Sirius last night had unleashed a torrent of emotions, flooding your senses with newfound intensity. It sent a thrill through your body, yet you felt somewhat disheartened as well. How had you managed to overlook Sirius for so long? He had been there all along, yet you found yourself pining over Remus, who had seemed indifferent to your feelings.
"Yeah, whenever youâre ready." You offered a soft smile as you slipped on your final shoe, steadying yourself with a gentle grip on the bedpost.
You rose to your full height, crossing the distance to Sirius, who advanced to meet you halfway, his hands finding their place on your hips. You encircled your arms around his neck, drawing yourself nearer to him. He smiled warmly down at you, delicately tucking a stray lock of hair behind your ear before returning his hand to your hip.
"How do you want to go about this?" Sirius asked his brow furrowing with a hint of unease, his gaze searching yours for guidance.
Your brow pinched in confusion, "Go about what? Us?" For a brief moment, the idea crossed your mind â did Sirius want to go back to the way things were before? However, that thought evaporated as quickly as it appeared when you recalled the firmness of his embrace, the intensity in his gaze fixed upon you.
He nodded, his expression softening with concern. "I don't want to make you uncomfortable. I understand things might be tense with Remus, and I donât want to make it harder for you."
"You know what I want?" Sirius tightened his embrace, prompting you to elaborate. "I want you to treat me like Iâm yours, show everyone that weâre together. I couldn't care less about what anyone thinks." Both of you understood that anyone referred to Remus. Sirius remained silent, his gaze fixed on you, his expression indecipherable.
Your expression shifted to one of uncertainty, your brows furrowing slightly as you sought clarification. "We're together, right?" You asked, your voice tinged with a hint of vulnerability, searching his eyes for confirmation.Â
Sirius's smile radiated such genuine warmth that a flutter of attraction danced in your stomach, âYeah, baby. Weâre together.â He couldn't fathom that he held you, his dream girl, in his arms, asking him if the two of you were together. It took him a moment to fully grasp the reality of the moment.Â
He continued, âDonât think that Iâm not going to properly ask you to be mine, though, because I will. I promise.â
Unable to resist, you leaned in, capturing his lips with your own. Instantly, he responded, returning the kiss with equal fervor and intention.
With a reluctant sigh, you pulled away, your fingers lingering against his cheek as you whispered, "We need to get to breakfast."
"I think I can starve." Sirius shrugged nonchalantly, a mischievous glint dancing in his eyes as he leaned down to capture your lips once more.
You couldn't help but giggle, gently pushing him away, "Stop it, we gotta go. Weâre going to be late." You insisted, a hint of laughter dancing in your voice as you playfully nudged him towards the door, the lingering taste of his kiss still tingling on your lips.
As you entered the common room, a wave of surprise washed over you at the sight of all your friends gathered, comfortably sprawled across the couches and armchairs. You slowed to a stop, catching Sirius off guard as he turned to follow your gaze, his eyes widening in surprise as they landed on the familiar faces of your friends.
"We wanted to make sure you two were okay after last night," Lily paused, her gaze piercing as she shot a pointed glare at Remus, who visibly shrank into the couch cushions. He appeared exhausted as if he hadn't slept all night, and you couldn't help but notice Adeline's absence beside him.Â
"But it looks like everything is good?" Lily continued, her voice hopeful as her eyes dropped down to where your hand intertwined with Sirius'.
"Everything's fine," you affirm, offering a soft smile as Sirius squeezes your hand reassuringly. "But I need to talk to you, Rem. Alone.â You add, your tone gentle yet firm, conveying the importance of the coming conversation.
Sirius is the first to break the tense silence, shifting slightly while the others remain rooted in place, their eyes flitting between Remus and you. The atmosphere feels charged with unease, and you can sense the weight of Lily's unspoken words lingering in the air, knowing full well she gave Remus a piece of her mind the moment you left last night.
Before he can move away, you pull him back, your hand gently tugging him closer as you press your lips to his. A surprised sound escapes him before his hands come up to hold your cheeks. Remus clenches his jaw, unable to watch as you both melt into each other.Â
James lets out a low, appreciative whistle, and Lily suppresses a smile behind her hand. Peter and Dorcas avert their gaze shyly while Marlene beams at the sight of Sirius melting into you. It's evident that they're all on Team Sirius.
As you both draw back, your gazes locked in mutual adoration, Sirius places another swift kiss on your lips. "I'll have your tea waiting for you," he promises softly.
A bright smile spreads across your face. "Thank you," you reply, your voice filled with warmth and gratitude.
As Sirius finally draws back, the others follow suit. James is already by his best friend's side, chatting animatedly. Lily and Marlene exchange knowing grins with you, silently promising a conversation later. Meanwhile, Peter and Dorcas trail behind, engaging in casual conversation as they meander along.
You sigh, bracing yourself for what promises to be an awkward conversation, and then take a seat beside Remus on the couch. The tension in the air is palpable, amplified by the near emptiness of the common room. Remus sits up straight, stealing a glance in your direction, his demeanor reflecting the unease of the moment.
âAre you okay?â Remus looks mildly surprised, that wasnât the first thing he expected you to ask.
He clears his throat nervously, âUh, Iâve been better, honestly. Are you?âÂ
He observes as you gracefully draw your legs onto the couch, tucking them underneath you. Finally, you meet his gaze, and he's momentarily taken aback by your beauty. A pang of regret hits him like a wave â he wishes he had confronted his feelings for you earlier. Perhaps then, it would have been him sharing kisses with you instead of watching you with his best mate.
"I'm good." Remus watches as you absentmindedly bring your fingers up to brush against your lips, a lovesick expression softening your features. You appear momentarily lost in thought, a dazed quality to your gaze.Â
Clearing your throat, you shake off your thoughts, "But I'm disappointed about last night. What on hell was that?"
"Y/n," Remus's voice quivered with sincerity as he addressed you, his eyes reflecting the remorse weighing heavily upon him. "I'm so sorry. I never meant to upset you." He whispered, the words thick with sincerity..Â
You sighed, the weight of your frustration and disappointment lacing your tone, "And Adeline?" Remus looked startled. In the wake of you rushing to follow Sirius, Adeline had bravely broached the subject of his feelings towards you. Caught off guard, Remus found himself grappling for words, acutely aware of his friends' scrutinizing gazes, which bore a mixture of astonishment and disapproval. His hesitation was a silent confession to Adeline, who gathered her belongings swiftly, her departure punctuating the air with an unspoken disappointment. In the ensuing silence, Remus remained rooted, torn between pursuing you and granting you the space he sensed you needed. Regrettably, the thought of going after Adeline hadn't even crossed his mind amidst the dread sitting heavy in his stomach. Remus understood he had messed up, and the weight of his mistake hung heavy upon him.
âShe left. I donât blame her, I hurt her. Who gets a girlfriend when they have feelings for someone else?â A laugh escaped Remus, laden with incredulity.Â
His words prompted you to avert your gaze, a subtle gesture betraying the unease settling in the pit of your stomach. The acknowledgment that his feelings for you still lingered left you with an odd feeling in the pit of your stomach.
Silence settles between you both, and it's excruciatingly awkward.
âIâm falling in love with Sirius,â You blurt out, nervously stealing a glance at him, eager to gauge his reaction. âI just, I need you to know that thereâs no way anything couldâve happened between us. A couple months ago it wouldâve been entirely different. But I was devastated, Rem. Do you know how hard it was for me to watch you be with Adeline? How much that hurt? And then you just admit you have feelings in front of everyone no less, like it wasnât a big deal. In front of your girlfriend, who clearly cares so much about you. I donât understand.â
"Dorcas askedâ" He began, his voice sounded shaky.
"But you could've passed, or chosen to say another old crush's name!" Your interjection cut through the air, sharp and pointed.
"But there wasn't anyone else." He countered, his words tinged with a hint of desperation.
"Remus." His name hung in the air, heavy with frustration. You sent him with a glare heavy with irritation, and the intensity of your gaze churned a nauseating knot in his stomach.
"I was jealous, okay? To see Sirius hold you and kiss you like I have always wanted was awful. I couldnât get you out of my head, and then Dorcas asked, and I just said your name."
"Godric, Rem!" You huffed, frustration coloring your tone. "If you had just told me months ago, we couldâve avoided this entire mess." Remus opened his mouth to speak, but you interjected, your words tumbling out with raw emotion. "But at the same time? Iâm so grateful that you didnât tell me, and that Sirius was there, because then I wouldâve missed out on a guy who was never afraid to show me that I was his first choice.â
Remus remained silent, his gaze fixed intently on his intertwined fingers. You sat tense on the couch beside him, the air heavy with unresolved tension.
Remusâ eyes are filled with tears when he turns to you, âI know thereâs no chance for us anymore, but Y/n, I donât want to lose you as my best friend. Not having you around the last couple months have been hard. I miss you, and I understand if youâre not ready for that or donât even want to be my friend. But Y/n, I will do anything to make this up to you.â
You felt a lump form in your throat, a wave of emotions threatening to overwhelm you. With a harsh sigh, you turned to Remus, your gaze a mixture of hurt and determination.
"Our friendship won't be fixed right away," you admitted, the words weighted with the frustration that had been simmering beneath the surface. "I'm still frustrated with you." You confessed, your voice tinged with the raw honesty of your emotions.
âY/n, Iâll do everything to make it up to you. I know everything wonât go back to the way it was, but I just want to be your friend.â His words carry genuine remorse, and you crack.
âRemus, come here.â You extended your arms toward him and Remus engulfs you in his embrace, his fervor nearly knocking you off balance.
You're both holding onto each other tightly, finding comfort in having each other back. A few tears escape your eyes, tracing silent paths down your cheeks as you find solace in the warmth of his embrace.
"I missed you too." You mumble softly into his chest, your words muffled by the fabric of his shirt.
.¡ă.¡ăâ¡.¡âŤÂˇă¡ă.
The familiar ease you once shared with Remus doesn't return immediately, but both of you are committed to rebuilding your friendship, to rediscovering that ease and comfort your relationship used to provide. But the effort that is being made means the world to you.Â
And so it begins with catching up on reading together. You sit beside Remus on the plush couch, matching copies of a book cradled in your hands as you both immerse yourselves in its pages. Nearby, Marlene and Lily are nestled by the crackling fire, engaged in animated conversation about Marlene's impending decision to finally ask Dorcas out. Peter lounges lazily in an armchair, a contented smile playing on his lips as he indulges in chocolates, his attention drifting between the gossip and the flickering flames.
Sirius's laughter rings out, drawing your gaze toward him like a magnet. You shift your focus to the common room entrance, where Sirius and James have just arrived, their hair still damp from their post-practice showers.
You sit up straighter, a subtle movement, that draws Remus's attention to you. Following your gaze, Remus's eyes shift in the direction of Sirius, who is in the midst of a hearty laugh spurred on by James's joke. However, as Sirius turns and locks eyes with you, his laughter fades into a tender smile, his expression melting into one of affection and adoration. James catches sight of Lily across the room and wastes no time in making his way over to her, his trademark mischievous grin already in place.
"James!" Lily cries out, her voice a mixture of exasperation and amusement, as she dodges away from the curly-headed boy who is shaking his dripping wet hair over her. Marlene's laughter fills the air, and Dorcas grins from beside her. Despite Lily's attempts to escape, James encircles his arms around her waist, drawing her back against his chest, his satifsfied grin matching her infectious laughter.Â
âI canât stand you, James Potter.â Lily sighs, leaning back against James and shaking her head disapprovingly.
Sirius laughs, watching Lily pretend to be annoyed with James, before settling into the seat beside you, a comfortable familiarity enveloping the space between you. When he leans in to press a gentle kiss against your lips, you instinctively lean into his touch, savoring the warmth of his affection. Remus's gaze momentarily drifts away, a subtle pang of jealousy tugging at his chest as he watches the way you lean into his best mate.
In truth, Remus found himself uncertain of his standing with Sirius. Him and Remus were limited in their interactions lately, both boys feeling tense around the other. Unbeknownst to you, Remus flinched involuntarily every time Sirius drew near to you, displaying his lingering feelings for you. Sirius, though not proud of it, found himself grappling with a twinge of possessiveness whenever Remus was close to you.Â
Sirius pulled back slightly, a warm smile gracing his features as he met your gaze, "Hi, m'love." He murmured softly, his voice laced with affection and tenderness.
You couldn't help but return his grin, feeling a rush of warmth at his endearing greeting, "Hi." You replied, your voice filled with warmth and fondness, mirroring the affection reflected in his eyes.
"What are you doing tomorrow?" Sirius's voice broke the silence, his arm casually draping around your shoulder, drawing you into his side. Your book lay forgotten as his presence captivated your attention.
"Just some studying." You replied, the thought of books and lectures suddenly fading into insignificance.
Sirius leaned in closer, his lips grazing against your ear as he whispered, "I wanna take you somewhere tomorrow." The words stirred memories of a few months ago when you were seated on this very couch with him, grappling with the heartache of trying to move on from Remus.
"Will this be a date?" You asked, unable to contain the excitement bubbling in your voice.
"Yes, angel." Sirius replied, his words soft and tender as he pressed a gentle kiss to your temple. A radiant grin spread across your face as you reached for your book once more, the anticipation of the upcoming date dancing in your thoughts.
.¡ă.¡ăâ¡.¡âŤÂˇă¡ă.
Almost a week slips by before you and Sirius manage to carve out time for a long-awaited date. As Sirius leads you on a walk, your heart swells with emotion when you realize he's taking you to the tulip field. Despite the lingering chill in the air, the sight of the vibrant flowers and the sun's gentle rays reflecting off Black Lake fills you with warmth.
"You're such a romantic." You giggle, leaning into Sirius even more. He responds with a bashful smile, his cheeks tinged pink. You're not sure if it's from the cold or your teasing.
"I didn't know if it would be a good place for a date or not." He admits, his cheeks coloring with embarrassment. He had spent the last week agonizing over where to take you. When he ranted to Peter about it, Peter simply shrugged and suggested Hogsmeade. Sirius had scoffed, his tone teasing yet earnest, telling him he better step it up if he wanted to impress a girl.
"Sirius, this is the cutest spot for a date. Plus, it has meaning to us." You tell him sincerely, and Sirius feels his heart flutter at the term us. He wonders if he'll ever get over the fact that he has his dream girl in his arms, looking at him the same way he looks at you.
As you draw closer, the perfumed air carries the unmistakable scent of spring, and the gentle buzzing of bumblebees near the flowers fills your ears. The sounds evoke a sense of nostalgia, transporting you back to your childhood days spent playing in the garden.
"Merlin, I was so stressed about it. I've never planned a date before. I mean, I've gone on dates, but I've never felt this determined to impress someone as much as I have with you," he sighs as if releasing all of his pent-up stress. "I even asked Peter where I should take you."
"Did you? Well, I think this is perfect." You grin, withdrawing your hand from his to lay out the blanket. The thought of crushing tulips under the blanket makes you cringe, so you search for a barren patch to place it over. With care, you shake out the blanket, letting it flutter gracefully before plopping onto it.
Leaning back on your palms, you watch Sirius, who remains standing where you left him, your copy of Pride and Prejudice in his hands. A soft smile graces his lips as he gazes at you as if you're everything he's ever dreamed of.
"Are you going to join me or just stare?" You question, patting the spot next to you invitingly.
"I quite like staring at you." He grins, sending you his famous smile.Â
He sits down next to you before laying back and allowing the sun to settle on his skin. The warmth of the rays feels comforting, especially after the last couple of days filled with rain. The melodic songs of birds in the surrounding trees and the sound of your gentle movements create a soothing ambiance, putting him at ease.
You shift, settling onto your back, your eyes tracing the patterns of the soft clouds as they leisurely drift across the vast expanse of the sky. The birds' playful chirps and flutters among the trees add to the serene atmosphere. Sirius follows suit, adjusting his position to face you. As he watches you, he's captivated by the delicate play of sunlight on your features, accentuated by the colorful tulips that bloom around you, adding a vibrant backdrop to the tranquil scene.
He can hardly believe that he's lying next to the girl of his dreams, the one he's thought of for years, yearning for even a moment of her attention. Memories flood back countless times when he watched you with Remus from afar, consumed by jealousy for the time Remus got to spend with you. He would have given anything for just a few minutes alone with you to share a moment that belonged solely to the two of you.
"I talked to Remus earlier today." You remark, his nose crinkling slightly with an involuntary pang of jealousy at the mention of his friend's name. It's become almost instinctual by now.Â
"He apologized to Adeline," You start, your expression thoughtful. "He mentioned it started off rough, but in the end, she forgave him, and they wished each other the best."
He hums, âThatâs good.â
You giggle, âThatâs all?â
Sirius hums softly, propping himself up on his elbow as he gazes down at you. "I'm glad they've found that closure," he murmurs, his tone laced with a hint of distraction.
Feeling his unwavering focus, you gently divert your attention from the sky to meet his gaze. His eyes are locked onto yours with such intensity that it causes a flutter in your chest, leaving your breath caught in your throat.Â
He lifts his hands, delicately brushing his thumb against your bottom lip. A small, involuntary sound escapes you, and Sirius responds with a devastating smile, a hint of playfulness dancing in his eyes.
"I don't want to talk about anyone else but us." He whispers, his voice filled with sincerity. His gaze softens as his fingers trace gently across your cheeks, his hand coming to rest on your face, his thumb tenderly brushing against your jawline.
"What about us in particular?" You inquire, the words escaping in a breathless whisper. Your heart quickens its pace, a rhythmic drumming echoing the intensity of the moment, a sensation that always accompanies Sirius's proximity. The air feels charged with anticipation, every nerve tingling with the electricity of his presence.
"I can't get enough of you," he confesses, leaning in to press a soft kiss against your cheek. "How you never leave my mind," he adds, tenderly planting a kiss on your other cheek.
"How you make my heart flip every time I look at you." His lips brush against your forehead before he leans down to rest his against yours. Your eyes flutter closed at his proximity, your body nearly buzzing from the giddiness and anticipation coursing through your veins.
"How my heart is entirely yours." His voice trembles slightly, revealing the depth of his emotions as he utters those heartfelt words, âAnd that I am hopelessly in love with you.â
Your eyes widen, catching his apprehensive gaze, his nerves evident as he awaits your reaction to his confession Without hesitation, you thread your fingers through his hair and gently pull him down to you, closing the distance between your lips and his in a sweet, affirming kiss.
Sirius lets out a moan, his thumb continuing to brush over your cheek as he deepens the kiss. The warmth of his lips against yours is accompanied by a gentle exploration, each movement conveying a depth of emotion and desire that leaves you breathless. The air is charged with an electric intensity, and in that moment, it feels like time stands still, allowing you to savor the overwhelming connection and longing between you.
You pull away just slightly, your voice trembling with emotion as you gaze into his eyes. In the hushed intimacy of the moment, surrounded by the soft rustle of leaves and the distant chirping of birds, you utter those three profound words, "I am so in love with you. "
Sirius lets out a disbelieving laugh, his smile widening as euphoria bubbles within him. Without hesitation, he leans in, his lips meeting yours in a fervent and intense kiss that elicits a desperate moan from your lips. You've never experienced a kiss like this before, filled with such raw passion that it feels like every nerve in your body is set ablaze as if you could melt into him right there and then.
"Please be mine." Sirius pleads, his voice laced with longing and vulnerability against your lips.Â
A tender smile graces your lips as you respond, your voice soft and filled with affection, "I'm already yours."
While nestled in the field of tulips, Sirius confesses to you that the very first tulip he gifted you was, in fact, a declaration of his love.

Jinx having a gf whoâs touchy and affectionate
requested. @luc1dw0rld
Jinxâs hideout was always filled with chaos, half-finished inventions strewn across every surface, faint scorch marks on the walls, and the constant hum of machinery that never quite worked the way she wanted. But today, it felt different. Calmer, almost peaceful. It wasnât because sheâd finally decided to clean up the mess. She hadnât. It was because of you.
You were sprawled out on her couch, an old, tattered thing sheâd salvaged from a junkyard, but it felt like a throne whenever you were on it. Jinx sat cross-legged on the floor in front of you, tinkering with a grenade sheâd been working on for days. Your legs dangled over the edge of the couch, and every so often, your foot brushed against her shoulder. Each touch, light as it was, sent a warmth through her that she didnât know how to handle.
âYâknow, I think Iâve got this one right this time,â Jinx muttered, her tongue poking out as she focused on the tiny screws and wires in her hands. Her usual frenetic energy was dulled and her movements slower.
âI donât doubt it for a second,â you said from above her. Your voice was soft, laced with the kind of unwavering confidence in her abilities that always made her stomach twist in unfamiliar ways.
She glanced up at you, her eyes wide and unguarded for a split second before she remembered herself and looked away. âPfft. Donât go jinxinâ it, babe,â she said, forcing a smirk as she set the grenade down. But her voice lacked its usual sharp edge, softened by the way you were looking at her.
You slid off the couch and onto the floor beside her, your legs folding neatly under you. âNeed help?â you asked, even though you both knew your technical skills couldnât match hers. It didnât matter. The question wasnât really about the grenade.
Jinx tensed for a moment, her fingers twitching against her thighs. She wasnât used to this. To someone justâŚbeing there. It was a different kind of tension, though. Not the kind that made her fingers itch for a trigger or her mind spiral into chaos. It was much softer.
âNah, Iâm good,â she said, her voice quieter than usual. But she didnât move away when your hand rested lightly on her knee.
You smiled at her, that small, knowing smile that always made her feel like you could see straight through her defenses. âAlright,â you said, leaning back on your hands.
Jinxâs gaze flicked to your hand on her knee, then to your face. She could feel the weight of your affection in the smallest gestures. The way your fingers curled slightly, as if anchoring her in place. It was overwhelming and comforting all at once, a contradiction she couldnât quite wrap her head around.
âYouâre allâŚtouchy, yâknow that?â she said, trying for a teasing tone, but it came out softer than she intended.
âDoes it bother you?â you asked, tilting your head.
Jinx hesitated, her fingers drumming against her leg in a rapid rhythm. âNah. Itâs justâŚweird. Not bad weird. JustâŚweird weird.â
You chuckled, the sound light and easy. âIâll take weird weird.â
She watched as you leaned closer, your fingers brushing a stray strand of blue hair out of her face. The gesture was so gentle, so casual, it made her heart stutter. She wasnât used to people touching her like this. As if she was something fragile, something worth handling with care.
âWhyâre you always doing that?â she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
âDoing what?â
âTouching me. LikeâŚlike that.â
You tilted your head, your expression soft but serious. âBecause I love you, Jinx.â
The words hit her like a punch to the gut, and for a moment, she didnât know what to do with them. Love wasnât something she was good at. It was messy and complicated and full of things she didnât understand. Whenever she was with you, her entire world felt simpler.
She looked away, her cheeks flushing a faint pink. âYouâre such a sap,â she muttered, but there was no bite in her words.
âThat means you like it,â you said, your voice teasing but warm.
She rolled her eyes, but the faint smile tugging at her lips gave her away. âYeah, yeah, donât let it go to your head.â
You didnât respond, just leaned closer until your forehead was resting against hers. Jinx froze, her breath catching in her throat. She could feel the heat of your skin, the steady rhythm of your breathing, and it wasâŚnice.
âYou okay?â you asked softly, your voice barely above a whisper.
âYeah,â she said, her voice shaky but sincere. âJustâŚnot used to this. FeelsâŚweird.â
âWeird weird?â
âYeah. But, likeâŚgood weird.â
You smiled, your hand slipping into hers. Her fingers twitched, hesitant at first, but then they tightened around yours. She didnât say anything, but the way her grip lingered said more than words ever could. For a while, the two of you just sat there, her hand in yours, her forehead still pressed against yours. The chaos of the hideout faded into the background, replaced by a quiet that was rare for her. It wasnât the kind of quiet that came with loneliness. It was the kind of quiet that felt safe. Jinx absolutely loved the time she would spend with you. You are her world.

Entry 9: The One Where You Choose Your Own Brazilian Adventure
My planned post â the âIn Dedication of JVNâ one where I fangirl over Jonathan Van Ness and what a fun and interesting piece of the Lukola puzzle he is â was derailed today because I was once again asked about Brazil. Well, more specifically, I was asked about whether I thought we were ever going to get those steamy, hopefully X-rated pictures, from Brazil. Thereâs pictures?!
In truth, I thought weâd collectively squeezed that grapefruit dry and left the rind somewhere between Italy and the Glamour Awards.
Alas, here I am writing about Brazil.
Itâs funny because Iâve never thought much about Brazil. I know, I know! How could I possibly type those words without my nose growing six inches in front of my face? Well, itâs because it was always Australia that intrigued me. More on that laterâŚ
So why exactly do we believe there are pictures from Brazil? And, why do we think they are going to prove some kind of hot affair between Luke and Nicola? This theory is likely fueled by rumor; rumor born from how Luke and Nicola behaved towards each other while they were in Brazil.
I thought it would be fun to play a little game of âChoose Your Own Adventureâ to determine if weâre ever going to see these alleged pictures. And, yes, I will be a very sarcastic bitch when doing this.
Before I start, though, I want to give a quick shout out to my dear friend, whom I shall call The-One-Who-Drops-Random-Pics-Into-Our-Group-Chat-and-Lets-Us-Sweat-Over-Them-for-Atleast-Three-Minutes-Before-Finally-Explaining-Them. She was a wealth of information about Brazil and even had a nice mother-daughter chat with me about the significance of a clean-shaven face (pardon me for never having dated a bearded man, which is odd because I find facial hair quite attractive).
Now, gather âround and I shall give you a little prologue to our adventure!
Iâm sure most of you already know all about Brazil. In fact, many of you are probably self-described experts at this point. But, for those who are new here, let me go ahead and light the candles and set the ambiance for you.Â
On May 19, Luke and Nicola were shuttled off to do their beach photoshoot in Brazil. You know, the one where Nicola was walking the dogs; Luke was strumming the guitar; Nicola was being all girlfriend-like fixing Lukeâs jacket; Luke was gazing up at Nicola at the pub while she was touching his neck; and then there was that moment when we all thought they might kiss. Yeah, all that plus Lukeâs scruffy face from the week prior suddenly appeared clean-shaven. Apparently, you can never be too âCasualâ when youâre headed down south (pun intended â as was that Chappell Roan reference). And, about now is where Iâll âinsert disclaimer that this is speculation only.â
The following day, we had the actual premiere. Iâm not sure what those two were up to before the premiere but both were un-fucking-hinged by the time they made it to the red carpet. We had angel-face Nicola looking up at Luke like he had created the universe and Luke answering Nicolaâs Little Red Riding Hood vibe with one sexy ass Big Bad Wolf persona. I mean, the bits and bobs that came out of Lukeâs mouth that day! âThereâs a carriage downstairs.â âI mean, in this heat, all Iâm thinking about is when we didnât have to wear clothes âcos that would be quite nice right now.â âI mean the show is proof that it is [okay to kiss your friends].â With Nicola whispering back, âThis is true.â Then there was Luke taking that mic without taking his eyes off Nicola. We had Luke helping Nicola put on her bracelets because â God forbid! â she let go of him for 30 seconds to do it her fucking self. And, letâs not forget about the two of them holding on to each other behind that womanâs back (Iâm sorry, I donât recall her name and Iâm too lazy to look it up â mainly, because Iâm certain most of you donât really care about that other woman).
We were also given snippets of Luke and Nicola at the premiere afterparty, looking like two people who, at a minimum, enjoyed each otherâs company. They greeted fans outside the venue and, as they walked away together, Nicola seemingly put her hand on Lukeâs lower back as if to guide him in the right direction (go ahead â let your imagination run wild â itâs a great opening for a FanFic).
Then, throw in the beach walk with the giant security guard; the interview where Nicola was wearing the fluffy pink skirt and the two of them talked about Chappell Roanâs âKaleidoscopeâ (seriously, those two were listening to that song together?); Nicola couldnât stop giggling about the âmeatâ of the Carriage Scene; and Luke appeared perhaps a smidge too interested in Nicolaâs answer about what she looks for in a man (which fit perfectly into Lukeâs âLike, how nice is it when someone notices, like, your kindness or your sense of humor?â). And, we canât ignore them seemingly sharing a tea cup and Luke reaching for Nicolaâs spoon after sheâd sampled a dish. Donât even get me started on over-analyzing Lukeâs âmanspreadâ that day.
Letâs also not forget about the rumor portion of this Brazilian escapade â because that is what fuels the sexy hot pictures theory and the central plot of our storied adventure.
Rumor has it Luke and Nicola spent a lot of time with each other in Brazil.
By themselves.
In one or the otherâs room.
On the beach.
By the pool.
There were also rumors of them making out in the hotel hallway.
The only evidence we have of any âalone timeâ are some pictures that were dumped on X of them dining together alone, without any other members of their team.
Now that the backdrop has been set, letâs go on my little adventure.
During the summer between my 7th and 8th grade years, I was bored out of my mind. I grew up in the countryside. No neighbors. No sidewalks. No cable! Just fields, wooded areas, and my two sisters, both of whom had no interest in entertaining me that summer. My mother suggested I read. After boredom had dug itself so far into my being that I was left with no choice but to read, I finally ventured over to the bookshelf and grabbed the thinnest book I could find. It was a âChoose Your Own Adventure.â
If you donât know what a âChoose Your Own Adventureâ book is, then you (and your children) are missing out. Basically, you play the role of the protagonist and make choices to determine the outcome of your story. Sometimes you make the right choice and survive; other times you make the wrong choice and get turned into a little mouse that may or may not be eaten by a cat.
Here we go.
As the protagonist of our story, you are:
THE EMPLOYEE
Youâre an employee of the hotel Nicola and Luke stayed at while in Brazil. You have sworn to maintain the privacy of hotel guests; youâve signed a non-disclosure agreement of sorts to protect the privacy of guests, especially since you have access to VIP areas. You can be a housekeeper, a watchman, a concierge, a seven-foot-tall security guard, whatever tickles your fancy. Doesnât matter â youâre all bound by the same provisions to protect the privacy of the hotelâs guests. But, in this story, letâs say youâre the housekeeper because â whatâs that old saying â the only person who knows everything going on in the house is the maid?
Youâre cleaning Nicolaâs room and you find lots of signs of a man being in the room. In fact, you find a coat that looks exactly like the one Luke was wearing the night of the premiere. Oh my. As youâre leaving, you see two people making out in the hallway â headed straight towards the room youâre just leaving! It looks like Nicola and Luke. What do you do?
Choice A: Well, youâre a pervy housekeeper so you pull your phone out and start taking pictures. I mean, those two are so into each other, they donât even notice. You then run and play show-and-tell with your friends because you canât keep a damn secret. Unfortunately for you, that gossip spreads faster than lice in a preschool, and hotel management tracks your ass down because, guess what, your friends canât keep a secret either. So, congratulations on being fired. Youâre meeting with the lawyers is first thing in the morning. Oh, we also need your phone and the names of all your friends.
Choice B: You respect the privacy of Nicola and Luke and simply turn and walk the opposite direction. Taking photos of them never even crossed your mind! But, damn, what a good story to tell your bestie when you get home, even if you donât have âreceipts.â
THE VIP GUEST
Youâre a random guest staying at the hotel. In fact, youâre a random VIP guest staying on the same floor as Nicola and Luke. When you checked in, you signed a non-disclosure agreement. I mean, you want your privacy protected, too! And, heck, NDAs are thrown out like candy these days. Youâve seen so many at this point, you donât even bother to read them.
You take the elevator up to your floor and, as you step into the hallway, youâre confronted with â goddammit, thereâs two motherfuckers all over each other! The guy is trying to slide his key into the door, but the womanâs dress is so awkwardly large, he canât seem to find the right slot! You realize the people look a lot like those two stars from Bridgerton, and your best friend, Effie, is a huge fan! What do you do?
Choice A: You canât believe Effie is missing out on this excitement so, of course, you pull your phone out and start taking pictures!! I mean, that NDA you signed didnât even cross your mind three minutes later when you were forwarding the pictures to Effie! And, because you canât control what Effie does, she forwards the pictures to all her Bridgie buddies. The next morning you awaken to find the pictures all over X. Oopsie. You feel slightly guilty, and a bit peeved at Effie â but only until youâve had your morning coffee.
Choice B: You take peopleâs privacy very seriously. Well, maybe you donât take it that seriously, but it would be too difficult to dig your phone out of your handbag to take pictures. And, to be honest, Effie is the huge fan, not you. Plus, it seems the guy finally got that door open and damn, based on the sounds of it, he's unlocked something magical. Oh well. Youâll call Effie in the morning to tell her your story, if you remember it.
THE RANDOM STRANGER
Youâre a random stranger taking an evening stroll along the beach. You love the sound of the ocean. Itâs so peacefulâŚthe sound of the waves⌠Ugh, what is that noise?! It sounds like â shit, it is! â two people snogging in a cabana about 10 yards away from you. Wait a minute â is that? Yeah, you think it could be! I mean, you were just at the Bridgerton premiere last night! What do you do? Without hesitation, you pull out your phone!
Choice A: You creep behind an umbrella and zoom in as close as possible with your camera! I mean, shite! You canât believe this! How long have you been filming? Probably longer than necessary but who cares? Suddenly, you feel a presence behind you, perhaps a seven-foot-tall presence, and you slowly turn around. Fuck! Whoâs this guy?! He takes your phone, drops it to the ground, and stomps on it, shattering its insides. Asshole.  You bend down to pick up the phone, but the man taps your shoulder and shakes his head, âNo.â Well, umm, yeah, I guess you best be leaving.
Choice B: You use your camera to zoom in on the couple. Snap! Snap! Snap! Then you get the FUCK OUT OF THERE! You tell yourself you donât look suspicious at all, even though youâre practically running and your heart is about to pound its way out of your chest! Oh, thank God, youâve made it to your car. You start it up and, like I said, YOU GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE! You get home and take a look at the photos! Goldmine! So, should you drop them on X? Maybe be a little see-you-next-Tuesday and try to sell them to Nicola or Lukeâs teams? But, hell, you donât even know where to start with that! Or, should you just pocket them for your own pleasure? You tell meâŚ.
The End.
Yes, I am absolutely being a facetious little ass! The above scenarios were for (the most part) my own entertainment. I mean, there are so many situations where these alleged pictures could exist (these playful ones donât even scratch the surface). But, do the pictures exist?
If weâre being logical here, you would think that, if anyone in the general public were in possession of these alleged sexy-time pictures of Luke and Nicola, or had seen them, it would be all over social media at this point. I mean, ALL OVER. So, what can we deduce from the fact that they arenât?
That the pictures probably donât exist. Donât shoot the messenger! Seriously, watch where you point that thing!
But, letâs say pictures did exist. Who is the most likely person to dump them on, say, X? The hotel employee, the VIP guest, or the random stranger? I would place money on the random stranger, followed by the VIP guest. The hotel employee, who probably has the most access to VIP guests but the strongest legal barriers, would be the least likely to photo dump. What is the likelihood that someone from one of these three groups â for example, a random stranger â (a) had pictures of Luke and Nicola, (b) didnât drop them on social media, and/or (c) didnât share them with someone who dropped them on social media?
Iâm all for a good conspiracy theory but I find this one to be a hard pill to swallow.
Maybe one person can act as a lockbox for this kind of secret, but when you start including more people, the ability to keep something (like illicit photographs of two celebrities) out of the public eye diminishes rapidly.
Remember what Benjamin Franklin said, âThree can keep a secret, if two of them are dead.â
Unfortunately, this quote is incredibly accurate. The general public cannot keep secrets.
If the pictures exist, they are most likely in the possession of Luke and/or Nicolaâs team (of lawyers). So, unless theyâre going to sneak them on to X for giggles (I mean, itâs been known to happen), youâre probably never going to see them â and thatâs assuming they even exist.
However, if youâre the housekeeper from our first adventure and you happen to have some candid photographs youâre just dying to share, just find yourself a printer â one that cannot easily be linked back to you â and print them out. Then, âaccidentlyâ drop them at the feet of someone who knows exactly what they are, and then give them enough time to take their own photos of them and send them to their best friendâs brotherâs sister-in-lawâs third cousinâs wifeâs neighbor, who could drop them on X for us. I mean, you should be golden with seven degrees of separation.

ONE THING ABOUT BEING THE QUEEN OF DELUSIONS? IT GIVES YOU A LONG WAY TO FALL
p.s. this post isnât pretty, it wasnât worth my time, or effort.
Hey Upper East Siders. Gossip girl here. Usually iâm here to help you fix your life, but @loaisacult, this oneâs for you. And I canât name any upper east siders more desperate than, wellâŚyou. Itâs pitiful I know. But you can cry about it later, if you havenât ran out of tears already, that is.
I donât mean to start a fight, but thereâs a weak link in every chain, and it just happens to be you.
I know you express your belief in the law of assumption being a cult. The funny thing is, when people donât like something, they usually walk away, unless it bothers them that much. And the even funnier thing is, you complain about bloggers âpreachingâ the law of assumption, and getting others to follow. But what are you doing? Preaching your ideologies, in hopes that others will follow you too. Oh whatâs that word againâŚhypocritical was it?
And oh sweetie, no one cares about your irrelevant opinions enough to affirm â@loaisacult doesnât exist, @loaisacult doesnât existâŚâ Talk about a weak argument. I hope law isnât your major. But you know what is major? Your idiocy.
Calling people on this app suicidal? Pathetic. Although I canât tell you that isnât true. Because to some extent, it is. And iâd agree with you if you werenât so ignorant. But I guess changing self in terms other than just loa isnât your cup of tea. Bloggers are not meant to be personal therapists for people in the loacommunity. And yes there are and were previously some bloggers who would get suicidal asks from anons and just respond to them to persist. But why are you generalising EVERYONE in the community? Your point is immediately invalid. So because there were some immoral bloggers who would act that way automatically means that the whole entire practise of the law of assumption is a CULT? Hello? Do you hear yourself?
Letâs use your âlogicâ here. Say gossip girl makes a post telling her followers to worship satan. Therefore the whole entire loa community must ALL be satanists! Now how ridiculous is thatâŚ
Yes there are liars, everywhere. Oh iâm sorry, did that come as a surprise to you? You didnât think the world was rainbows and sunshine did you? Well unless you assume it is. But at the same time, there are honest people too. Yet you like to pick and choose what to focus on. Look me in my virtual eyes and tell me that Lady gaga isnât one of the most famous people on the planet. Oh wait..you canât! News flash, she manifested that. And so did many of your other favourites. Yet you choose to focus on liars, because thatâs what you want to believe. Of course a close minded, one sided argument is your way to go. Disregard everything else in the process why donât you.
âIt's ironic how some boast about manifesting luxury items like Lamborghinis, which could easily be rented, yet they fail to manifest meaningful change for their followers who are in abusive situations.â - l.o.s.e.r
B-b-but didnât you say that you used to be a big blogger? So why didnât you attempt to do the same? (As if! it would only work if they assumed so). But honestly, you donât sound like someone who is educated on the law, you sound like those desperate anons in bloggers inboxes asking bloggers to manifest for them. Because why is that the point you used? To manifest for followers? Were youâŚone of thoseâŚfollowers? Talk about holding a grudge. No wonder why youâre so mad. If I had a dime for how many times you got rejected iâd be a millionaire.
âWant to prove to your followers who are spiraling about the American election rather than post persist hehehee how about you manifest for themâŚ.. change the election revise lifeâs an illusion while youâre crying about having your rights taken away lol but you canât.â - l.o.s.e.r
Run upper east siders, weâve got an idiot on our hands. Making a point on something completely false. If you really understood the law, youâd know that you canât manipulate somebody elseâs reality, unless they assume you can. But itâs not to my surprise that you didnât know that, of all people. Last time I checked, itâs YOUR imagination, and nobody elseâs. So WHY would YOUR 3D reflect THEIR imagination? And you claim to be a blogger educated on the lawâŚquite a âbigâ one too. I cant name any âbigâ bloggers whoâve misinformed the law THAT bad. Talk about liars nowâŚ
At this point, itâs PAINFULLY obvious that you were one of those anons begging bloggers to manifest for you. Because youâre SO mad that bloggers donât do that for people. They canât really because it depends on your assumption. Iâm not even making an invalid point here. Itâs just so obvious. âWant to prove to your followers.â âhow about you manifest for themâ đ Iâm literally in tears because of how funny this is. Iâm sorry that no blogger has proven it to you or manifested âfor youâ, and youâve carried that hatred with you and projected it onto the whole loa community. And the only reason you continue to believe that the law of assumption is real (rightfully so) is because you know that thereâs way too much proof of it to even attempt to dismiss it without looking like a fool. And maybe a fraction of that belief comes from your hope, because without the law, everything youâd ever hoped for would be out the window.
In short, you make points about âwhy donât you manifest for your followers đĽşâ Well, I donât know if you knew this butâŚthereâs this concept called free will. And just because someone chooses to not do something, doesnât mean they canât. Is common sense just not part of the package for you? It seems the point flies right over your head faster than you can catch it, and the only thing that doesnât land, are your âpointsâ.
But if you still donât understand me, letâs use a little bit of your so -called logic here.
âLoa is real manifesting is real shifting is real but most people in this community lie and are culty 99.999% of the stories here are lies the people doing that shit donât even post abt it probably think theyâre in some dream most of the success here are creative writing and living in the end.â - l.o.s.e.r
From YOUR logic, couldnât I just ask you to manifest that the liars donât exist and that you no longer view the law of assumption as a cult? So why havenât youâŚ? Youâll ask anyone questions but yourself. And if they think it was a dreamâŚthen how did they send their success stories to bloggers? Did I miss an update because last time I checked, you canât do that in a dream. See, your points are fuelled by complete hatred, not logic. You truly donât believe what youâre telling yourself and others. Embarrassing.
And donât get me started on how statistically IMPOSSIBLE that is. Do I even have to explain why? I promise you, thousands of people are NOT lying for the pure fun of it. Thatâs just not how the human mind works. Wouldnât they rather shit on loa just like you rather than posting success stories hoping itâll happen?I didnât know talking out of the wrong hole was in fashion these days. But then again, not everyone has style. And if thereâs one thing money canât buy, itâs class. Was that a moth? Mustâve flewn right out of your wallet.
Now donât get me wrong, iâm not bothered to read your whole blog and all the nonsense you cry about and debunk every little thing you say. Because trust me, common sense does the job for me.
Have fun continuing to âpreachâ your delusional idea of the law being a cult to yourself and your little followers. Like sheep. One after the other.
Donât even think about trying to respond to me, as if anything you say makes sense.
P.S. Iâll delete this post later, I donât like having drama on my blog. This is my first and last time addressing you. I just donât want people in this community, including my lovely upper east siders to listen to idiots like you telling them that all the success stories theyâve read are fake, when that is so obviously not true. Only someone who hasnât consciously the experienced the law for themselves would doubt others so badly, and you used to be a âbigâ blogger you sayâŚThe fucking audacity. But then again, itâs hard to believe in something you havenât experienced for yourself (is it?), but at-least donât get caught in a lie. Disrespectfully, shut your mouth and donât open it again.

Laurie opened her mouth, a strange sequences of fast breathing left her mouth. She told ST427730RN once that it was a traditional human expression of happiness.
"I once told you that we humans are from Earth, right?"
"Yes, you did. It was also part of our management course."
"That's the answer", said Laurie, her eyes were fixated on a point outsidd the window. ST427730RN follwed her eyes but couldn't see what Laurie was so occupied with.
"That is not a answer", ST427730RN insisted.
"Yes it is; it's not my fault you can't understand it."
Laurie showed her teeth. ST527730RN has to remind itself that it wasn't a sign of hostility but a sign of joy, even if it didn't really understand why Laurie was so happy talking about her destroyed planet of origin.
"No, sorry, that wasn't fair of me", she said. "It's just...hard to explain."
"Try", it said. "For me."
Laurie looked at the blanket. ST527730RN followed her look again. Maybe it has to also ask her what she was always looking at.
"Earth isn't just our planet of origin, for us humans, I mean", Laurie started. "Everything in our cultures is based of the ancestral land on Earth. The food, the stories, the traditions. In some cultures, there's a big emphasis on being buried at the same place as your ancestors, others believe that special spirits live inside the Earth . It's really different. "
"But, Laurie, I do not understand. Did not your planet became unhabitable around a thousand years ago?"
"Yes, that's true but...you know we humans love documentating things, right?"
"You always write your past experiences down right before sleepingh, how could I not know?"
Laurie did her traditional human expression of happiness again.
"Right, right sorry...anyway, the humans of the past did the same. They photographed and described the whole planet. It was beautiful, you know? Really, really beautiful. I grew up watching documentaries of the fish that once lived in the cool oceans and about gigantic forrests with leaves as green as on Orne-te'go, we should watch it together, I'll show you. Then you'll understand too."
Laurie looked it directly into its eyes.
"I do not want to discourage you from your culture", ST527730RN said. "But I really like you, Laurie and the thought of your sadness would transfer to me feeling the same, so I want to remind you that so far, no species ever has reformed a once made inhabitable planet into a habitable one again. It is not possible."
"I'm flattered by your care, '52, I really am, but it's fine, really. I don't expect Earth to become liveable again soon, I just hope that it's soon enough that I don't have to continue the tradition with our grandkids. That I can show them Earth, instead of only watching films about it. I have to hope that. "
"What is this 'hope'? It is a word from your language, correct?"
She showed her teeth. "Yeah, it's a emotion but it's kinda hard to explain."
"Try", ST527730RN said. "For me."
Laurie closed her eyes. Probably to stop distract her from these things she keeps seeing at the blanket or outside in space.
"Hope is...when you wish for your descendants to grow up on Earth, even if it's completely unrealistic by today's standards. It's when you know that something is unlikely to happen but you still believe. Because you have to."
"Why do you have to hope?"
"Because that's how the good future happens."
"You humans have hundreds of planets under your control, so why do you waste so many resources trying to make that Earth planet habital? I genuinely don't understand."

All in good time, â Franco Colapinto.
Pairing: Franco Colapinto x Fem!Reader
Summary: When a college student meets her polar opposite in Franco Colapinto, she instantly disliked him. But, Franco was enamored with her and he would get her to like him, all in good time.
Word count: 1.65k+
Disclaimer/s: this is a hockey!au
A/N: this is for @purinfelix and jet only! though i love each and every one of you who choses to read it.. this was. this was ass girl shit iâm sorry i didnât know where i was going toward the end⌠i may do another hockey player!franco fic tho but its going to be far more centered around the actual hockey
Franco Colapinto was a force to be reckoned with. Somehow, youâd gotten tangled into his life. When your dorm was being renovated and you needed a place to stay, your roommate suggested her friendâs houseâthat friend being Franco. A notorious hockey player for the Golden Knights.
He was, in simple terms, agitating. Your two and a half weeks staying in his basement was something close to hell on earth. He held parties, big ones! Ones that interrupted your studying, which heâd half ass apologize for the next morning while nursing a raging hangover, right before asking you to make your signature hangover recipe while he showered.
That was your payment for staying there. You nursed his hangovers and helped him come up with various excuses as to why he was late to practice, even going as far as to go out of your way to tell his coach youâd gotten terribly sick and he had to bring you to the hospital.
Two peaâs in a lying pod. Thatâs what you were.
In the first week, heâd convinced you to go to the rink to help him practice. Youâonly ever using figure skatesâhad a difficult time keeping up with him. You nearly broke a tailbone trying to catch up with him.
Franco held a lopsided grin when he stopped, ice shavings flying as he turned to face you. Though, you saw the concern flash across his face as he skated back in your direction, leaning down to help you up.
âI need an ice packââ Your lips formed a thin line, âactually, I need wine and an excuse to get out of this hell.â
The curly haired man laughed, pulling your hand over his shoulder as his free arm looped around your waist. Holding you up, he assisted you back to the bench, setting you down carefully.
Once you shifted to get comfortable, wincing in pain, you untie the laces on your skates. âHow do you do this for a living? Iâm fucking miserable and weâve done this once.â
Franco shrugs, leaning his head against the tempered glass that separated the rink from the benches. âMaybe I will just have to put you to work.â His lips threaten a smirk, âif it helps, I do prefer practicing with you than my teammates.â
That wasnât even particularly a lie. He tried to find ways to get to know you, but you were a tough nut to crack. He tried so hard to find ways to get in your good graces, and forcing you to hang out with him was the only way he could get you to spend quality time with him.
His flirting was what annoyed you the most. You couldnât stand it, only because it made a weird feeling erupt in your stomach. âFirst of all, donât let them hear that. Second of all, I will never do this again. Ever.â
Franco was a convincer. He was good at getting people to do things, and you were unfortunately, not exempt from that. Even when you were back in your dorms, heâd convinced you to join him at the rinks.
You rarely ever practiced with him, simply opting to watch from the stands. You hated to admit it, but youâd grown to enjoy the time spent with him. When he took breaks, heâd explain the rules to you, different tactics they used, various things.
When youâd get so engrossed in conversation, heâd slip in a question about you, that youâd answer without thinking. He was good at getting to know people, but you were a difficult case. Heâd found a way eventually, only getting you to talk about yourself when you were so distracted you couldnât think long enough to stop it.
âHockey pucks are actually frozen before games to make them move faster and glide smoothly on the ice, so they donât bounce a lot.â Franco was rambling about different facts, waiting for the perfect opportunity to slip in a question heâd been waiting to ask for weeks.
âSeriously? So they donât just stay rubbery and lukewarm?â The last part was only slightly sarcastic, but the fact had actually surprised you.
âSo.. are you seeing anyone?â
âNo.â You pause, waitâwhat? You donât get an opportunity to ask any further questions because he was already onto the next fact. âFranco!â You snap, interjecting his next rant.
Francos eyebrows raise slightly, âyeah?â
You narrow your eyes, licking your lips. âYou just asked if I was seeing someone. Thenâyou know what. That doesnât matter, what does though, is that you just slipped in a question that was not like the others youâve slipped in.â His face contorts and you laugh, âiâm going to law school, I notice tactics like that.â
The hockey players mouth quirks, he wasnât even slightly ashamed. âOh, I love how smart you are.â He hums, âI was just curious. If you were, thank the lord you arenât, but, he wouldnât like you hanging out with me.â
âThank the lord? Seriously?â Your eyes roll dramatically. The wooden bench beneath you feels stiff and uncomfortable the more he watched you with his stupidly smug face.
Franco nods, âheyââ He begins untying his laces, âyou should come to my game tomorrow. You havenât come in a while.â
The topic switch was noticeable, but you ignore it. âI have a lecture late tomorrow. Iâll probably be tired.â But when Francoâs face changes into that familiar doe-eyed expression, you cave. âFine! Iâll come! Quit looking at me like that.â
âIâm not looking at you like anything.â
âYes you areâ
âNo iâm not.â
âAre too!â
âLet me take you to dinner.â
âAreâwhat?â Your brain stops working, words failing your tongue. Excuse you? âWait a fucking minuteââ
Franco watches you carefully. âIs that a no?â
âNo! I meanââ You were still a stumbling mess. Your mouth opening and clamping shut. âItâs a-well, I mean, Itâs a yes! Yes, I will! Jesus, Franco. You couldnât have asked any smoother?â
Heâs smiling, finding your stammering all too amusing⌠and adorable. It was very cute. âIt felt fitting to me.â He shrugs casually, slipping off his skates. âAfter the game and a shower, the diner you like a few blocks from your dorm?â
That was most definitely something he learned during his not-so-secret questionnaires.
âThat sounds perfect.â You huff, ânow, can you bring me home? I think iâm developing hypothermia.â
After changing into his regular shoes, he stands, offering you his hand. You take it, though it was with an eye roll. Franco smirks at your reaction, not commenting on it as he helps you to your feet.
âDoes your body not ache every time you finish?â You ask as the two of you exit the arena, making your way through the dark parking lot.
You regretted your choice of words the second they left your lips. âDonât evenââ
âI have incredible stamina, actually.â Franco cheeses, slinging his arm around you. You allow it, even leaning into his side.
âYou are insufferable.â You scoff, but the twitch of your lips betrayed your feigned annoyance.
The laugh that emits from Francos mouth has a smile growing on your lips, it was a sound youâd grown to enjoy.
Franco opens the passenger door for you, which had you suppressing a smile. It was a gesture he made every trip to the arena, in factâFranco was very much a gentleman, despite boy boyish he could be.
Only when he was the drivers seat with the engine going and heater ablaze, does Franco finally grow serious. âAre you sure you want to do this? I donât want to make you feel like you have to, I know youâre sort of a people pleaser.â
Okay, ouch?
Francoâs eyes widen, âI didnât mean it like that!â He says quickly, stumbling for a way to fix what he said.
Youâd never seen Franco have to search for words to say. He was always so smooth and, well, he was never one to falter.
âI know what you meant, and youâre right. But, when have I ever gone out of my way to people please you.â You reassure him, a gentle look on your face. âI want this.â
The rest was history. You want Franco had been going steady for months. Whenever you had enough time in your busy college schedule, you went to his games, you were his number one cheerleader and support system.
Hockey had easily become your favorite sport, you knew everything about it due to Francoâs inability to ever stop talking. Thats probably what made the two of you such a perfect pair. You were quiet, he wasnât. He was your polar opposite, the yin to your yang. And thats what made it work.
When you didnât want to talk, he wasnât there to fill the silence. When he didnât want to talk, you enjoyed each otherâs silence.
You had never thought in a million years, the man who annoyed you oh so much, was the same man you would grow to love.
likes , comments , and reblogâs are all appreciated. lmk if youâd like to be tagged in future franco posts.

Tamed: Sukuna x Fem!Reader
⢠CW!!: NSFW MDNI, 3.8k words, not proofread, excuse typos.. Freak frat boy Sukuna, virgin fem reader, college au, attempts of plot, no protection WRAP IT UP CHAT!!!, first time, cunnilingus, girl idk if thats all. You get the idea!! Virgin pussy so good you domesticated your whore of a best friend.
â˘đnotes: this is my first time trying to do like, a full-fleshed fic so it might be a little roughâŚhope you enjoy tho!!!Â
The HC that this was based off of here!
âŚâ˘ÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇâ˘âŚâ˘ÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇâ˘âŚ
âHey, girl. Youâre Sukunaâs friend rightâ. Not only has this girl been your lab partner all semester, but you guys also shared classes freshman year. You rolled your eyes because you know whatâs coming next. Sukuna and you have been friends since junior year of high school. You got stuck with him for a project and you guys kind of just stuck. Sukuna also has a reputation for himself, being the class whore, even in high school, but since you guys started college it's gotten..so much worse. Even when he was a freshman the senior girls wanted a piece of him.Â
You on the other hand were not as familiar in his field of expertise. Sure there were boyfriends here and there but you never went ALL the way, they were too eager to get their dicks wet and didn't care anything about your pleasure, so the virginity is still intact!!Â
âYes I know him, no he doesnât want you, heâs with someoneâ It wasn't an entire lie. He was always down for a good fuck and he changes girls like clockwork, but he mentioned âscoring a hottieâ earlier. The girlâs smile and friendly attitude towards you disappeared as if it was never there. Really it was annoying, dealing with your best friendâs shit. At this point, he needs to make announcements when heâs ready for the next girl.Â
âŚâ˘ÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇâ˘âŚâ˘ÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇâ˘âŚ
âSukuna I swear to every god out there, if one more girl approaches me trying to get in your pants, I'm killing you and them myselfâ Heâs lying across your dorm bed scrolling through his phone. When he is not on his freak nasty agenda, he could be found in your room. You were able to score a single and he isnât all too fond of his roommate. Seemingly not really listening to you he continues to scroll, causing you to kick his side. He thought it was funny, cute almost, how upset you got over this. It was the same argument every other week. He just wishes it came from a place of jealousy not inconvenience.Â
âWoman I have no control over that. Not my fault this dick makes them crazyâ he smirks at you making you scoff.
âGod you're disgusting...get off my covers youâre dirtyâ you playfully(kind of) try and kick him off the foot of your bed. He quickly grabs your feet and pins them under his body, not budging despite your attempts to pull them free.Â
âDon't be grouchy cuz you haven't gotten laid yet, bratâÂ
âGirl you fuck enough for the both of us, and like five more people. Iâm good, trust.â You put emphasis on the last bit as you finally tug your feet free. âfreakâŚâ
âAnyways, look this was the girl I was telling you aboutâ He shows you an Instagram page on his phone. Sukuna looked for any flash of jealousy in your face, but you gave him nothing. You used to like him back in High school, but liking him hurt too much. With every new girl and every story heâd tell you of said girl ripped away at you. To protect yourself you buried that feeling way way WAY deep down and you're fine with your relationship as it is now. Now you were indifferent, it's his life. Whatever.Â
âOh sheâs pretty, how long is this one gonna last thoâÂ
âDon't know. Sheâs fine as fuck so maybe two weeks?â Again, no reaction to his statement, at least not the one he wanted. Sukuna? oh sukuna wanted you bad, but you never showed interest, if anything it felt like the opposite, and he didn't want to mess up what he did have with you, so he never pushed.Â
âŚâ˘ÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇâ˘âŚâ˘ÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇÂˇâ˘âŚ
For the next couple of days you've been, unwillingly, thinking about sex. Blame ovulation or blame the overwhelming talk of sex in your friend group ever since your best friend lost her virginity. But you really saw no point in trying again, with how disappointing and unwilling all your past intimate (if you can even call it that) experiences have been. The talk you had with Gojo didnât help either. You made a small comment and he poked and prodded until you spilled everything, even the part that youâve been craving that experience.Â
âWell, you could ask Toji, You know that one senior. I heard he loves virgins!â Thatâs what the idiot told you, sure was a joke, but it could work. Toji, much like sukuna, has a reputation for being a campus whore, but his favorite go-to-girls, were virgins. He always boasted about all the V-cards he took, and how good he was at it, ruining them for their future partners. But what has also been running through your mind was what Shoko told you.
âIt would be better if you had sex with someone you trust?â
âYouâve been friends with Sukuna for a long time, no? Why not him?â suguru added. Â You sat on that for a long time too. Sukuna was your best friend, and you do trust him. From the stories heâs told you himself you wouldnât be left disappointed. The thing is, Sukuna never showed interest in you, strictly platonic. Sure he never gave up the chance of a good fuck, but with you being a virgin or him not seeing you in that light because of your friendship, the âwhat ifsâ drove you insane, but after much deliberation, you came up with a conclusion, and hey, the worst he could do is say no. You got to your dorm and built up the courage to call him.
âOh?? I thought you were avoiding me. You miss me now?â you could hear the annoying smirk on his face.Â
âYou know what never mindâ you were ready to hang up, deciding on plan B, but as you pulled your phone away he interrupted.
âOkay okay, what's up?â Sukuna always dropped whatever he was doing for you, even if that meant not hooking up with the girl he was telling you about. He quickly pushed her out ignoring all her protests and angry huffs. Maybe you saved him cuz her whining was pissing him off.
âCan you come over?â Your face burned knowing what you were going to ask once he got there. You were determined to get it over with, and you had a plan B if he said no. no biggy no biggy⌠you just need to ask your best friend to fuck you.Â
Sukuna arrived at your door quicker than you expected (he was already on his way to your dorm before you even asked him to go over). Opening the door, you let him in and he immediately got comfortable sitting on the edge of your bed.
âOkay, so what's up?â Heâs pretending to be normal about it. But with the way you sounded over the phone he was thinking a million things and expecting nothing at the same time, but what you would say next will stop his heart.Â
âLet me speak, no interruptions.â You waited for confirmation, catching on Sukuna nodded and waited for you to continue. It was like floodgates opened the way you confessed âOkay good. So⌠I want to lose my virginity. And, and I trust you the most out of everyone I know. It's okay if you say no, I won't take it to heart and besides, I have a plan B so itâs totally, totally fine.â it didn't feel as bad once you finished, although you didn't mean to add that last part. What happens, happens. You're comfortable with your relationship with sukuna so this should mean nothing to him, so you thought. Sukuna on the other hand, was not feeling the same relief, well he was until you mentioned a plan B.
âPlan B? And who the fuck is thatâ he stood up towering over you, eyebrow arched.Â
âOh well, gojo told me about Toji..you know himâ The way he looked down on you was doing something, you felt something you hadnât felt from another person in a while, Arousal.Â
âGojo is an idiot don't ever take advice from himâ Sukuna regained a little of his composure after recalling your words. So he was plan A? âSo you want me to fuck you, baby?â his hands found their way to your waist, pulling you to his chest. He liked the way you looked up at him.Â
âYes..â it came out barely a whisper, but sukuna wasn't having that.
âSorry? What was that?â he leaned his ear down towards you. Oh so heâs gonna tease? You should have known.
âdamn it.. Fuck, Yes, Sukuna. I want youâ The words came out so breathy and desperate it surprised you. Sukuna noticed it as well and that fueled him even more as he slid his hands under your shirt and up your back. His warm hands felt like fire across your skin. He pushed you flush against his chest as his lips brushed against yours, breath fanning your face.Â
âYou gonna undress or do you want me to do it for youâ a snicker left his lips as he watched you pout.
âKuna be niceâŚâ but nonetheless you stepped back and slowly peeled off each article of clothing, revealing more and more to sukuna. The tightening in his pants became more apparent once he saw you completely bare. He knew you'd be beautiful, but this level of imperfection felt illegal. Every peak and curve of yours looked so plush and soft, he wanted to kiss every inch of you. He wanted to caress your hips and feel as the goosebumps rose on your skin. But it wasnât like him to voice all of that. Approaching you again, he leaned down and brushed his lips on yours again, but this time he kisses you.Â
âNice rackâ Ignoring the sarcastic response you gave him in return, he reaches up to cup one of your breasts feeling the weight of it. His thumb brushed over your pebbling nipple, and the soft sigh you left out was better than he ever imagined. Sukuna pulled you towards your bed, making you lay back on your pillows. He pulled your thighs apart, but you quickly snapped them shut. âWell, how will you lose your V-card like that, let me see baby?â he slapped your thigh lightly urging you to open up again. Once you do he groans as you spread your lips for him, already so wet there were strings of arousal connecting. The two of you stayed like that for a while, you spreading yourself for him and Sukuna watching every twitch and clench. âHave any of them made you cum before?â you shake your head. He wanted to hunt them all down, but thatâs for another time. âHave you ever made yourself cum?â you nod. âThen show me, sweetness.â he leans back on his heels. Sukuna had dreamed of being in this situation for so long, heâs going to make the most of it.Â
âKunaâŚI-â he raises his eyebrow at you again waiting for you to follow instructions. As instructed you brought one hand to circle around your clit. The way his eyes focused on the way you circled your bundle of nerves made even more slick drip from your pussy. You brought your other hand up to pinch and pull on one of your hardened nipples. Sukuna couldn't help but palm at his bulge, the ache too much to ignore as you sped up.Â
âPut your fingers insideâ he urged nearly drooling
âBut that's never felt good when they did itâ you whine moving your fingers faster. You were already close like this. Between the feeling of your own fingers and the way he watched, was enough to send you over the edge, but that was cut short. Sukuna huffed and slapped your hand away. The feeling of your orgasm depleting ripped a sob from your throat, but you were quickly shut up by one of his fingers prodding at your hole.Â
âI'm not themâ and with that he ducked his head between your thighs and watched the way your cunt sucked his finger in, just begging for another. He grew dizzy with the sweet musk that was coming from you. Sukuna could not believe he was face to face with what he dreamed about. His lips made their way to your pulsating bulb, giving it gentle kisses before enveloping it completely and giving you a harsh suck. You've never been touched like this before and this new sensation sent electricity throughout your whole body. Why didnât you ask Sukuna to do this sooner? The rumors about him were true.Â
âK-Kunaa, moree. M-moreâ your back arched so prettily for him when he added another finger, saying something about âyer greedy cuntâ but the pleasure he was giving you was so overwhelming you couldnât really focus on anything. He moved away from your clit down to get a taste of you, thumbing at your bundle of nerves while finally getting a taste of your honey pot. The groans he let out went straight to your cunt making you ooze more, earning more groans of approval.Â
âMm, you taste so sweet~. Can't believe it took so long for me to get a tasteâ he watched your face contort into that of pleasure and he wanted so badly to sink inside you, but he was enjoying being between your thighs too much to quit now. As soon as he started to fuck his tongue inside of your hole he couldnât help but rut his hips against your sheets. The taste of you was making sukuna absolutely drunk. Never in his life has some pussy made him so desperate to nearly cream in his own boxers. He made mental notes of every reaction you had, recording every twitch and shiver you had to memory.Â
You heard stories but you didnât know just how messy of an eater he was. The sounds of him devouring you were so sinful and embarrassing, but the sound of him slurping and lapping at your cunt brought you closer and closer to cloud nine. If it wasn't for the vice grip you had on Sukunaâs pink locks or the way he pinned you down by your thighs you fear youâd simply float away. And oh when he locked eyes with you as he pinched your clit you saw a glimpse of the pearly gates. Your thighs clamped around his head as he drank everything you gave him. He continued to lap at your twitching pussy pushing you towards overstimulation. If sukuna had it his way he would have spent another three hours with his face buried in your cunt, but you were desperately trying to push his head away with soft moans of âkuna pleaseâ. Reluctantly he parted away from you with a kiss to your clenching hole and sat back on his knees admiring his handy work. Your pussy was a wet mess of your slik and his spit and oh did it make his dick jump with the way you lazily palmed at your breast, pupils completely blown as you wait for what you wanted, what you needed from him.Â
âS-sukuna that was ssoo goodâ You watched as he whipped your remaining juices off his mouth and chin smirking wildly.
âTold you I wasnât like those little boys you fucked around withâ he leaned down capturing your lips in a passionate kiss that took no time to develop into a clash of tongue and teeth. The taste of yourself on his tongue made you moan into his mouth. The throbbing you felt started to become more and more unbearable as he kissed down your neck biting and nibbling here and there.
âFuck⌠hurry I wanna feel youâ You spread your legs making more room for him, bucking your hips up in desperate attempts to feel him. Sukuna groaned at the sight, wasting no time to discard his clothes, freeing his aching erection from the confines of his sweats. The size of him made you drip even more. How could you crave something so much when you've never had it? You donât know but the need for him is burning through you. You wanna taste him, taste the pretty pearlescent pre that leaks from his tip in fat globs, lick the vein running on the underside of his cock, suck on the tip, feel the weight of him in your mouth, and see if he lets out pretty moans of your name. But youâll save that for next time, hopefully, there will be a next time. Without realizing it you began to rub your clit as you watched him, his voice snapped you out of the trance.
âCock drunk already? Playing with that pretty pussy just from the sight of my cock, oh I'm flatteredâ he cooed as he crawled back between your legs, heavy cock bobbing with his movements. His arrogance always got to you, but in this setting it made you crave him more. His cockieness made your cunt throb with anticipation. All you did in response was whine, something sukuna wasn't used to. No snarky sarcastic comeback, no punches, just whines and your hands desperately trying to pull him closer and it was driving him absolutely insane. He grabbed the base of his cock and lined it up with your entrance, dragging the tip up and down your slit and circled around your swollen clit a couple more times. The warmth radiating off of you felt soo good on him, but you guided his face to look back up at you causing him to stop his movements.Â
â âKuna...w-wait. Please, could you be gentle?â the question came out barely audible, the vulnerability made your cheeks burn. He smiled in return, not his normal shit-eating grin, but one of sincerity.Â
â âCouse pretty baby. Need you to enjoy your first time, cant ruin my rep now can I?â he leaves a kiss on your forehead, and then goes down to capture your lips, not the clash of teeth and tongue as before. This one felt like more. In truth sukuna cared nothing for his reputation, as of right now he wanted to make you feel as good as possible. The newfound gentleness was new territory for him, but for you it felt like he needed to take his time and do things right. After giving you reassurance and promises of taking care of you, you gave sukuna the âokayâ he needed to finally push into you. He felt the way you tensed up at the intrusion, but he was quick to shush you, kissing the tears away as he played with you clit to distract you from the stretch with each inch he sank into you.Â
âOh f-*hic*-uck, itâs...youâre so much I-. more please moreâ The feeling of him pressed all the way in you was nothing like youâve felt. The stretch melted from uncomfort to unfathomable pleasure and you needed more. The twitch you felt from him inside you let you know that he felt just as good. In one swift motion, he pulled out just to the tip and pushed back in, the drag of him against your walls making you clench.
âFuck your so t-ight even after all that work. You gotta relax⌠baby, f-fuckâ his brows knitted together. The vice grip you had on him is going to make him cum prematurely, and he canât have that. You tried your best to relax some but the way he fucked into you was way too good, and when he angled his hips up it was over. Your breath hitched, you've never reached that spot yourself and now you were seeing stars with the way he abused it. Over and over he bullied himself into you and right to that spongy spot. The moans you let out of his name only fueled sukuna more, rutting into you faster and harder. He promised to be gentle but the way you squeeze and drip around him made that impossible. The sound of your squelching pussy and his balls smacking against your ass was intoxicating, addicting. The sudden fluttering of your walls broke sukuna out his trance.Â
âKunnaaa I-Ithink..c-cum. Iâmgonna cumâ you moaned and moaned as you wrapped your arms around his neck pulling him down for a kiss. Your moans were swallowed up by him in the messy kiss, mixed drool rolling down your chin. He pulled away pressin his forehead against yours whispering praises on how good you're making him feel and how good you're taking him.
âIf you're gonna cum, cum. Lemme see what pretty face you make when you feel goodâ and the huskyness of his voice was the last push you needed to cream all over him. You arched off the bed, eyes rolling to the back of your head as silent moans left you. The spasms of your walls hurled him towards his own release. The way you try and milk him and suck his cock back in makes his thrusts sloppy. âOh fu-ck, fuck. Youfeelsogood. So good. Virgin pussy is mine, taking my cock so well. Tell me its mine, yeah? Mine to fuck mine to- shit im gonna cum, whe-â his babbles get cut off before he can even finish his question.
âIn-inside. Please i wanna feel you insideâ and at that moment Sukuna makes a mental note to delete his booty call list. You are all he wants, all he needs. With the last remnants of his composure, he folds you completely in half, reaching even deeper than before. He felt so impossibly deep you swear you could feel his cockhead in your womb. Â
âFuck you're too good. Want me to fill you up? Fill up your pussy, yeah? Augh! Are you c-cuming again? Oh Oh-â he moans the loudest heâs ever had as he falls over on you. His body going completely stiff as thick ropes or his hot cum fill you to the brim. Sukuna was derailed by how caught off guard he was by his own orgasm. He has never came as hard as he did, body trembling as he tried to ride out both your highs. And oh he came so much, you feel both your releases oozing out before he even pulls out. The two of you stay like that for a little while, kisses here and there. Coos and caresses exchanged.Â
âThank you, RyoâŚI think I get why you're a whore now.â and you break into a fit of giggles as he rolls his eyes in response.Â
âYeah whatever. You shoulda let me hit sooner baby.â he said kissing the corner of your mouth
âBaby? You called me that a lot. Am I your baby?â you raised an eyebrow jokingly, attempting to tease him,
âYou wanna be? Sweetheart just say the word and im yours. All yours, Only yoursâ he was serious this time, no hint of playfulness, no teasing.Â
âTake me out on a dateâ
âI already started planning itâ

how about a seungmin drabble? something dirty and sweet? plz đ
This is an ask that I'm including with a comment that requested a Seungmin one-shot. The more specific request was for a "best friend's brother" type story. I hope you and @miniversed enjoy it!
a/n: a semi-sweet drabble. i'm working on keeping things short because I really started writing the entire backstory for these two lol but i've narrowed it down to this one scene! this has not been edited, take it easy on me.
warnings: unprotected sex, oral (f receiving) - 18+ ONLY
word count: 2,362
Youâre seated on the vanity counter with Seungmin between your legs. You donât know how you got here, but a voice in the back of your head is screaming that you shouldnât have accepted the invitation to come see him performâespecially without your best friend.
You part your lips as his tongue invades your mouth, satiating the desire thatâs been growing in you for fourteen years. Youâve fantasized about this moment countless times and now that itâs finally happening, you want nothing more than to give in to the moment.
But you know this isnât right. You shouldnât be doing this.
You shouldnât have come to this room with him.
You tangle your hands in his short, dark hair, leaning back as he starts kissing down your neck.
This is your best friendâs brother for crying out loud. What would she think? What would she say?
âWait, wait, Seungmin,â you tug on the strands of his hair to pull him away from you. You should probably shut your eyes while you say this. You canât look at his faceâhis perfect fucking face. Youâve been drooling over his face even more than usual since he cut his bangs and added that slit in his eyebrow. You turn your head away from him, shaking it, âWe canât.â
âWhy not?â He softly pushes your hands away from his hair and resumes kissing your neck.
âNoâwait, wait,â you say again. âWhat about your sister?â
âWhat about her?â He pulls back from you, his face scrunched up. âI donât want to think about her right now.â
âWell, I canât not think about herâsheâs my best friend. I donât know if she would forgive me for this.â
âShe doesnât have to know,â he shrugs.
âSeungmin,â you plead softly. âYou have no idea how badly I want this. How long Iâve wanted this.â
âHow long?â he asks, resting his hands on your thighs and spreading your legs apart. He doesnât wait for your response before asking a follow up question. âDo you know how long Iâve wanted it?â
Your eyes open wide. You watch as his finger inches higherup your thighs, slipping beneath your skirt. You shake your head again.
âYou remember that summer vacation you took with us to Jeju?â he asks softly.
Of course, you remember that trip. You were sixteen. He was seventeen. You were nervous to go out on the beach in your bathing suitâyour first time wearing one since your body had fully developed. You were afraid what people might think or say, but Seungmin smiled when he saw you and all your worries were flushed down the drain.
âIâd never seen you like that before,â he says. âYou want to know what I did that night?â
Your eyes are locked on his arms on your thighs, his hands have now fully disappeared beneath your skirt. You feel his fingers rubbing along the edges of your underwear.
âI stroked my cock while thinking of you, y/n,â he admits.
âSeungmin,â you whisper. You place your hands on his chest to keep his mouth from coming back to yours.
He uses one finger to pull your underwear towards him.
âDo you want me to stop?â
You look around the empty dressing room, eyes keying in on the door to make sure itâs locked. You donât want any of the other members or staff to come in and see you like this. This secret canât get out. It could ruin everything.
âNo, I donât,â you tell him. âBut that doesnât mean we should keep going.â
He slips his other hand between the opening he created in your underwear, sliding a finger up and down your slit causing you to gasp, then moan. Your hands slide up to the back of his neck, clasping together.
He takes the opportunity to lean forward again and reclaim your mouth. You part your lips, allowing his tongue to enter. He tastes of adrenaline and betrayal. He keeps leaning forward, forcing you back against the mirror as he kisses you, his finger still sliding along your slit.
âWe could stop,â he says, breaking the kiss momentarily. âIf we keep going, though, I promise you Iâll never say a word.â
You weigh your options as his finger keeps teasing your pussy. You pull him to you to kiss him againâa bad decision. Youâre ready to throw caution to the wind so long as heâs touching you like this.
This is the boy youâve had a crush on since he walked you home in second grade and it hasnât faded. As much as you willed it to. This is the boy who came to your rescue in the middle of the night when you started your period and his sister was asleepâhe found pads for you and provided a change of clothes since youâd ruined your own.
This is the boy you cooked countless meals for when you would stay the night, and he returned from practice at 12:00am. When everyone else was asleep and he wanted a hot, fresh meal, you were there to serve him. This is the boy whose compliments on your cooking encouraged you to pursue culinary school. This is the boy who brought his entire group to the restaurant you work at and ensured them it would be the best meal of their life.
This is the boy you canât get enough of. You have to have him. Even if itâs just once. Even if it has to be a secret. Even if it can never happen again.
You slide your hands down and push back on his chest once more. You hold your fist out in front of him, pinky raised. This is so wrong.
âPromise?â you ask.
He hooks his pinky through yours with a crooked grin, âPromise.â
He lowers your intertwined pinkies until your hand is at the waistband of his pants and as you fumble with the button, his lips crash against yours.
So many thoughts are racing through your headâis this really okay? Will his sister ever find out? Will you be able to live with this secret?
But then, heâs pulling your underwear down and, quite frankly, you couldnât give two shits. Thatâs for the you of tomorrow to worry about. Tonight you get to have him. Fucking finally.
You successfully unbutton and unzip his pants, and he steps back to pull your underwear completely off. You relax against the cold mirror, watching as he removes the sweatshirt heâs wearing and when his bare torso comes into view, you know youâve made the right decision for yourself.
You have to experience this. Even if itâs just once. You have to get him out of your system and lay this crush to rest.
He pushes his pants and boxers down as he steps back towards you, freeing his cock. You subconsciously lick your lips at the sight, and he chuckles in response. You wiggle around on the desk, lifting your skirt up higher and scooting to the edge.
He grabs you by the waist with one hand, and spits in the other before sliding it against your pussy. He grips the base of his cock and lines himself up at your opening.
You lock your hands together behind his neck, biting your lip and holding your breath for whatâs to come. His lips are back on yours as he slowly eases his cock inside. You moan into his mouth as he buries himself in you, partially in shock that this is really happening and not another dream.
He places his other hand on your waist and moves you closer to the edge of the vanity counter as he starts slowly thrusting in and out of you.
You squeeze your eyes shut, reveling in the feeling. You rock your hips back against his. He groans and breaks the kiss, pulling back to watch his cock at work.
âYouâre so wet for me, y/n,â he says.
You moan and nod.
âHow long?â he asks.
Youâre so focused on fucking him back it takes you a moment to realize heâs even asked you a question.
âToo long,â you breathe.
âAnd is it as good as you imagined?â A coy smile is on his lips.
âBetter,â you reply without hesitation.
He suddenly withdraws from you, but before you can panic that youâve said the wrong thing, he drops to his knees. He hooks his arms under thighs, hands reaching over them to spread your pussy apart. He presses a long, hard lick up your slit and you just about collapse.
Your brain cannot comprehend. Seungmin is on his knees. Licking your pussy.
âMmmm,â he moans between licks, âwe taste good together.â
You fall back against the mirror with a heavy, satisfied sigh.
Why would he say that? How can you live knowing his lips have uttered such a phrase. How can you look him in the eyes the next time youâre with him and his family, and your best friend, knowing heâs said that?
Maybe this wasnât such a good idea.
And then, his fingers are inside you while he sucks your clit into his mouth. And it doesnât fucking matter. Youâll figure it out.
âSeungmin,â you pant.
He doesnât stop his actions, but he looks up at you with those deep, brown eyes and your heart all but explodes at the sight. His face, buried between your thighs, eyes locked on you and only you as he fucks you with his fingers; his mouth working wonders on your clit.
âCan youâplease,â you try to get a sentence out but your head falls back against the mirror with a thud, eyes rolling into the back of your head. Your hips thrust against his fingers and mouth of their own accord and your arch your back.
âFuck, yes,â he pauses sucking your clit to say, âGive it to me, y/n.â
And how could you not?
You grit your teeth to keep from alerting the entire backstage crew of your activities. You place your feet on the counter, gripping your hands in his hair and pushing your hips against his face as you come.
His fingers and mouth donât stop until youâve finished trembling. You collapse against the counter with a sigh as he stands, his mouth smiling and glistening with your juices. Holy fuck, you canât believe your eyes.
Even in your weakened state, you still want to taste him. You use all your remaining energy to sit up and reach for his cock.
âNext time,â he says pushing your hand aside as he pulls you down from the counter.
You stare back at him, blinking. Dumbfounded.
You never intended for this to happen in the first place. Now heâs insinuating there will be a next time? You donât know if you can handle it. But you do know that it shouldnât happen.
He kisses you, allowing you to taste yourself on his lips. And heâs rightâyou do taste good together. Itâs a shame. Â
He turns you around, forcing you down with a hand on your back until your torso is pressed against the counter. He pushes your skirt up higher, exposing your ass. He palms one cheek as he lines himself up at your entrance again. You glance at him over your shoulder, watching as he eases himself into you and let out a sigh when heâs all the way in.
It truly feels better than you could have ever imagined. Is it because this feels taboo? Is it because having his cock inside you feels like everything you could ever want or need?
You wiggle your ass back against him and turn your head to face the mirror. You watch his reflection as he slowly withdraws, then slams himself back into you. You both moan as he repeats the process, gripping your hips to pull you to him with even more force.
You lay your palms flat against the counter, bending your knees slightly to bounce back against him.
âY/n,â he groans, his eyes glued to where your bodies are connected, âI never thoughtâoh, fuck!â
You fuck him back as he loses his train of thought and smacks your ass. He bares his teeth, breathing heavily as he rams into you.
This is so wrong, and you both know it. There may be consequences to pay, but it will be worth it.
âIâm gonna come,â he warns you.
You lock eyes with him through the mirror and give a subtle nod. His fingers dig into your waist, and he pulls you back against him with all the strength in him as he comes.
His thrusts slow down as he spills into you. You rest your head against the counter to hide your smile, satisfied with each groan that falls from his lips.
When heâs done, he fully withdraws his cock and takes a step back to admire his handiwork.
âDonât move,â he says, pulling his pants back up. He then digs inside his back pocket and retrieves his phone.
âSeungmin,â you protest and start to stand.
He lowers you back against the counter and presses his jeaned thighs against your bare ass. He angles his phone above you and snaps a picture.
âI need something to get me through this tour,â he tells you.
Youâre not sure what to make of that, but it feels like a compliment.
He puts his phone back into his pocket and palms your ass again, making you moan. He steps away and picks up your underwear from the ground, tucking them into his front pocket. He reaches over you for the tissue on the counter and finally wipes you clean.
âYou should come out with us tonight to celebrate the start of the tour,â he says, tossing the tissue into the trash.
âI should probably go home and shower,â you say, standing up and turning to face him.
âNot yet,â he wraps an arm around your waist to pull you to him. âI want you to walk around with us on you for a while.â
You look up at him and take a deep breath. What have you gotten yourself in to?
a/n: how was that? did my best to keep it short and to the point! hehe this was fun! once again, asks are open for one-shots!

âIt looks better on you anywayâŚâ
summary: youâve been dating for a while and, to make you officially his, Eddie gives you something very specialâŚ.
*no warnings only fluff (ok maybe thereâs a bit of a suggestive content here but nothing too serious)*
(i had this draft for a while now and i loooove this headcannon! hope you like it as much as i do)
âWhat do you mean by itâs not official?â You desperately asked Robin
âWait a minute, i didnât say that! It is official, just not official official.â She says sipping her drink.
âRobin youâre not making any sense right now.â Nancy replies seeing how nervous you got.
The three of you were having a girls night at a bar, only to gossip, have some drinks and celebrate womanhood. But now, after a few drinks, you shared with the girls your story with Eddie and how it was when you finally got to be together. It was actually so casual and simple because Eddie knew you didnât like to cause a big scene and to have all attention to you. So you had a nice date and on the way back to your house, before you could get in, he asked if you wanted to be his girl and if he could be your boyfriend. You didnât waist a minute and involved him in a hug and a lot of kisses.
âIâm just saying that some couples like to make a gesture to make it official, so everyone else can see theyâre taken. And, in your case, thatâs not what happened.â Robin explains herself and now your head was thinking of all the things Eddie might have given to you
âDidnât you hear her story? That was exactly the opposite Eddie was trying to do, he wanted to be a special moment for just the two of them. I think thatâs very sweet of him.â Nancy and Robin keep arguing when it comes to you
âSo youâre saying that hypothetically he was supposed to give me something, like a ring?â You interrupt them making both girls look at you
âHeâs not supposed to do anything, but yes, thatâs what i meant.â She replied and then started to tell a story about one of her old friends.
By the end of the night, Eddie picks you up and takes you to his place, as you agreed. You were going to spend the weekend with him.
âHey pretty girl! How was girls night?â He kisses the top of you head and help you get in his van.
âIt was very nice, but you know how Robin can get very excited about some stuff and how Nancy doesnât agree with her but still tries to be nice and it goes on and on.â He laughs at your words and he enters the van too. âBut youâll see, iâm still going to make them become best friends!â
You keep talking about your night to him and you two stay in a comfortable silence listening to one of his Black Sabbath tapes until you get to his home. He turns off the car and before he could hop off, you stop him.
âWhat is it sweetheart?â He asked looking at your face, searching for something wrong.
âCan i ask you something?â You look at his hands full of rings holding yours.
âOf course you can, you can ask me anything.â He said and his tone couldnât be sweeter
âEarlier we were taking about dating and the girls asked me how it was when you asked to be my boyfriend, and i told them. But Robin said that even though it was the most teeth-rotting story ever there was something wrong, something was missingâŚâ
Eddie was scared of your next words but still encouraged you to continue.
âShe said that normally, after a while, itâs common for the guy to give to his girlfriend something, like a gesture or a gift i donât know. But thatâs supposed to be like an affirmation of the relationship⌠You know what, forget it, itâs fucking stupid.â You give up on telling him what you wanted and turn to leave the car.
âHey hey, wait a minute. Thereâs nothing stupid about that! You can take your time, but i want to hear it.â Eddie says, giving your hands gentle rubs.
âI feel stupid asking you this, and you know how you are my first boyfriend so iâm not sure how things are supposed to be nowâŚâ You organize the words in your head before you tell him. âAlright, hm, I was going to ask if maybe you plan to do that⌠i donât want you to give me anything, and i know weâre not dating for a impressive long time and maybe weâre supposed to wait a bit more for that, i donât even know if you are expecting me to give something to you. I am a bit lostâŚâ You said everything too fast and got lost on your own words. But Eddie listened to you very carefully and understood what was happening.
âAre you saying that you want something, this âgestureâ, to officialize our relationship?â He asked and looked at your eyes âWell, i wasnât actually thinking of giving you something right now, but now that you said that iâm thinking of something hereâŚâ He let go of your hands and put them behind his neck. â I really like the idea of people seeing that you are taken, that you are only mine⌠turn around, please.â
You were confused but still, you turn around and you can feel him getting closer. So close that your back is hitting his chest. He starts to whisper when you see him put his necklace in front of you.
âWhat do you think babe?â His soft voice rings in your ear and you admire his hands holding his necklace that you always made sure to tell him how much you loved it on him, of how attractive he looked with the pick hanging over his chest. âI know how much you like this, and imagine that⌠you walking around with this very specific necklace around your neck. This screams âi have a fucking man, heâs a rockstar, a hottie, and im all fucking hisâ. Uh, i loved that!â
You were smiling and blushing at his words as he lifted your hair up and put the necklace on you. You didnât know what to say and got all nervous but you were relieved he liked your idea.
âI loved it Eds, thank you!â You dropped your hair and looked at the pick now hanging in the middle of your tits.
âI loved the placement donât you.â He teases you and you can hear his mischievous smile and the way heâs giggling when you shove him. âIâm serious, i can imagine already, you on top of me and the pick hanging there and⌠wait a minute. THATS WHY YOU LIKED IT SO MUCH!
You start to laugh and cover your face embarrassed. âShut up Eddie!â
âNo baby, donât hide your pretty face. Let me see you.â You lean into his body again and look up at him. âYou do look very attractive with it.â And as he speaks, you can feel his hand on your jaw, making you look up at him, and the other, caressing your thigh.
âWhat about you? I donât want to just take your necklace like that.â
âDonât worry sweetheart, i can make another one for me so we can match, if thatâs your concern.â He says teasing you once again. âBut now thatâs your necklace. It looks better on you anyway, soâ
You just close your eyes, feeling him touching your nose with his before he kisses you passionately. Even after lots of shared kisses between the two of you, he still manages to take your breath away.
âCome on, letâs go inside.â He opened his door and yours too, being the gentleman he is, and with an arm thrown around your shoulder, he leads you inside. âMaybe we can test that theory, to see if the pick will look good on you when youâre on top of me.â He makes you giggle and you playfully slap his chest as you walk up and open the door.
âMaybeâŚâ

## leah williamson/beth mead x teammate-(ex)reader !! MINIFIC
hi pookies!! i wrote this after watching love actually and I'm still fuming about the whole CD situation iykyk. this is roughly and loosely based on that scene, which is HEARTBREAKINGGGG. this kinda has a cringey ending but my little cringe heart loved it. thank you all for the love recently! i hope you're enjoying all the content. love always - RGx
1.8k words.
emotional. beth being the best best friend. talks of a break up. not proof read.
"you know we dont have to watch it, right?" beth spoke lowly and no louder than a whisper, breaking the silence that had stretched out between you both like a tightrope.
you allowed a small and meaningless smile to crack in the corner of your mouth for a beat as you took a sip of the tea in your hands, eyes still glued to the TV screen. only flicking to beth briefly and for less than a second - as if you were unable to bear the contact. "i know," you admitted. "i want to." you spoke with a fake conviction, leaning forward to lay your mug onto the coffee table.
you watched on in silence, heart hammering in your ears when leah finally came on screen. she looked good, and it pained you to realise. to realise that whilst you're at home, curled up on your sofa, she's out doing brilliant things. you watched as leah sat beside her piano teacher, who you recall fondly after spending many evenings in his company. leah's fingers danced over the piano keys, the camera zooming in to capture the intensity of her practice.
you tried to rid your mind of the hurt for a few minutes, attempting to squash them into microscopic parts of you. you could feel beth's eyes burning holes into the side of your head, but you didn't dare look away for even just a second. scared you would miss something important, or miss her on the screen.
you watched as she prepared for her performance and made her way towards the concert piano, you knew her well enough to tell how nervous she was - breathing uneasy and hands fidgety. the camera followed her every step, until she sat down and found her bearings. as the camera pulled out, you saw the full orchestra behind her, tuning their instruments. you watched on eagerly as the anticipation grew in the room, a storm of nerves brewing in the pit of your stomach.
there was a moment of silence from the tv, before you watched the conductor lift their arms and a chorus of instruments began to play - including leah. as they began to play, it was hard to ignore the hurt bubbling up and into your throat. as her keys fell in perfect unison with the accompanying music, it was like you had been transported back in time.
you can recall it as if it was yesterday - being back in her living room, watching her play it for the first time. she had looked up at you from her spot in front of the keyboard, eyes shy yet hopeful, asking if you liked it. "it's beautiful," you had said, not knowing then that it would become so much more.
leah's eyes remained on the keys as she played, her expression serene. her hair fell around her face like a curtain, obscuring her features slightly. the way it used to fall when you held her close, comforting her after a stressful lesson. it was a stark contrast to the sharpness of her posture now, the determination in her hands as they flew over the piano.
you felt the weight of the moment, the gravity of her talent. the sound of her playing filled the room, swelling like the crescendo of the symphony of your past. you could almost smell the scent of her shampoo, feel the warmth of her skin. your chest tightened and your eyes stung with unshed tears. but you didn't look away. you couldn't. because, as much as it hurt to admit, you were bursting with pride.
beth couldn't bring herself to speak, overly aware of the tears threatening to spill from your eyes. instead, she layed a hand gently and slowly onto the leg pressed close to hers. heaving a quiet sigh as she watched you break for the fifteenth time today.
as the final notes echoed through the speakers, you couldn't help but let out a breath you didn't know you were holding. leah's eyes finally lifted and she took in the applause, her face breaking into a smile that was so familiar and yet so foreign. your heart felt like it was in a vice, but you found yourself smiling back at her, even though she couldn't see you.
you felt beth's hand move to your shoulder, squeezing gently. "are you okay?" she asked. you nodded, not trusting your voice.
"yeah," you whispered back, "i'm okay." but you weren't. not really. you were just watching your past play out on live television, painfully reminded of what you could never get back.
the show continued, but you couldn't focus on anything else. the music had left a hollow space inside of you that only leah could fill. you looked at beth, her eyes filled with sympathy and something else. "you know it wasn't your fault, don't you?" she spoke softly.
"what?" you replied, trying to shake off the emotional fog that had enveloped you.
beth squeezed your shoulder again, "everything, i mean. she wasn't herself and she was angry at the world. she shouldn't have taken it out on you." her words stung to hear, but deep down you knew she was right. leah had always been driven, always been passionate about her career. it was one of the many things you loved about her. but seeing her up there, so poised and professional, compared to the person she was not even a month ago when things ended between you, was like watching a stranger.
you nodded, swiping at the tears that had escaped. "i know," you murmured. "but i can't help but feel like i just missed something. like i could've been there." beth didn't respond, she just held your hand, her thumb tracing circles on the back of it, offering silent comfort.
the applause from the audience on the telly grew louder as leah took her bow, her cheeks flushed with excitement. you felt a pang of jealousy, watching her revel in the moment, knowing that she has finally caught up with the feeling she had been chasing.
beth's grip on your hand tightened. "you know you can talk to me, right?" she said. her voice was gentle, like a soft summer breeze, trying to soothe the storm in your chest.
you nodded, "i know," you whispered. "but i don't know what to say. it's justâŚit's a lot." your voice cracked slightly, and you took a deep, shaky breath.
"it's alright to feel this way," beth assured you, her eyes never leaving yours. "you loved her, and she was a part of your life. it's natural to miss her when you see her doing something that makes her seem okay."
you tried to force back the tears that now are fighting for release, held back by nothing more than your waterline. it didn't take long until they began to litter your cheeks. "i miss her," you stammered through a small sob, collapsing into beth's chest as she stoked your back.
"i know." she whispered into your hair, gently rocking the pair of you back and fourth.
"she's still the one,"
