i’m very normal about a kind of one sided wincest where dean isn’t aware (or pretends he isn’t) that sam knows about his obsessive feelings and is always willing to let dean fuck him, all dean needs to do is ask. sam would let him, just like he lets dean hit him till he bleeds. but dean doesn’t ask because it’d mean having to admit he wants to ravish his little brother, so he just swallows his hunger down

then at some point something inevitably triggers his jealousy & possessiveness (either because of ruby or sam’s history with brady) and he just loses control and dubcons sam ♡

I fully understand the argument that late season Dean is solely written as The Angry Man™️ without the early seasons nuance and emotional vulnerability he had, BUT Dean's violence, particularly the one toward Sam, was there as early as season 2. And i DON'T say these to be like "their relationship is sooo abusive and terrible and sam is just a poor miserable victim with no choice", i say these with a belief that Sam craves it because he sees physical pain as cleansing and forgiveness and has grown into a masochist by especially associating Dean's love and care with his punches (and it IS love) and i think that's super sexy and amazing. The fact that Sam is indeed bigger and physically stronger, the fact that he COULD defend himself or punch back makes it all the way more delicious. He is a big big strong guy and he would look his brother dead in the eyes and say "you can take another swing at me" and he would kneel in front of him with puppy eyes and bruised face. There's an uncanny sort of trust in there. There's the "it's ok if YOU hurt me. I know you still love me deep down" in there.

One of my favorite AU's (I think that's the right term for this) for Sam and Dean is specifically them just ... living together. In an apartment, somewhere nice, safe. Dean made sure the place was absolutely salted and kept clean at all times to make sure his baby brother, who hasn't even heard about monsters yet, innocent and untouched.

He saved up money from ripping people off at bars, selling things he swiped from strangers or stores, and even sometimes his own clothes and old toys.

And he uses it all on Sam. Buying the apartment, keeping Sam fed and clothed, keeping him happy and loved. He even works two jobs so when Sam is at school he can do something. He would probably lie about his age, he always looked older than he actually was. And when he finally is old enough to work legally, he just works even more.

He wants nothing but the absolute best for Sammy, even if that means keeping him to himself and tucking him into their shared bed every night, even when Sam is growing up so fast.

Deep down, i believe the two brothers are both protagonists, and that's a given fact, but i have another more comprehensive reason Sam is the protagonist.

I dont wanna delve into it, but it's something along the lines that Dean has always existed as an ultimate extension of Sam. His standing within the narrative is that of a soldier, not a leader; he exists to protect (sam) and constantly needs an external drive (which sam fills) to do anything.

Dean is also heavily biased and prejudiced. He is not really a protagonist for a story who'd lead/take all under his wing bc he wouldn't. He is definitely a protagonist in Sam's life but not in the supernatural story.

He doesn't hold the axis of the general narrative as Sam does, and as he does hold Sam's.

Yea they both dont make the best selfless protags but Dean is by far the lesser chivalrous out of them, he is also unwilling to take that burden canonly, he HATES taking care of other people his role as a soldier/guardian has always kinda just extended to Sam and ended there that's why he says there's no me if there ain't no you to Sam. Dean IS the ultimate extension of Sam. Without Sam, he ends.
