I love you all, but you have the wrong parallel. We love Rhaenyra asking Alicent to fly across the narrow sea and eat only cake, but it's Rhaenyra and this Alicent that mirror each other. It's the smiles, and that halting breath.

I think the scene where Ekko has to talk Jinx down from killing herself is one of the most dark and powerful of the entire series. The fact that it takes him six or seven tries because of her sheer determination to die. Her activating the bomb a few words into their conversation every time so she doesn’t have to listen to him. It’s a repeat of their last scene together on the bridge in season one- when she very nearly succeeded in killing both her and Ekko before Silco dragged her unwillingly from the grave. Now Ekko is doing the same thing, yanking her back from the brink. And when Ekko finally persuades her not to use the bomb because it’d kill him too, the first thing she does is immediately jump off the ledge so he wouldn’t get hurt. After he finally convinces her to join him she’s dead soon after. She gets what she’s always sought and believed her purpose- death. And he’s left with nothing except the knowledge that they could have worked in another universe.

Edit: I’m aware that Jinx is implied to be alive, but I’m discussing more about how the events went from Ekko’s perspective specifically, and how tragic and unfair it really must have felt for him

Alright, I'll say it: Jack Harkness and the Doctor's relationship is possibly the most fleshed out/complicated dynamic in Doctor Who and that is INCLUDING the master/doctor relationship. Seriously, think about it:

the fact that when they meet jack is presented as sleazy con man and the doctor makes him brave- makes him good

but that they are both willing to die for rose as long as she is safe

and then she comes back and dooms them both to live (even though jack has already died for her and the doctor WILL die for her)

(ninerosejack is canon and you cannot convince me otherwise)

but then the doctor sees jack as immortal as someone he COULD spend the rest of his life with

and instead of embracing it like you'd think he would because he is so wrecked by people leaving him/being left by him the doctor RUNS bc the Doctor is so scared of jack of what he means of what he is

jack ends up abandoned in dalek dust goes back in time to find the doctor suffers a hundred years alone/being tortured but STILL WAITS

(screw amy being the girl who waited or rory being the boy who waited- Jack Harkness is the boy who waited and he did it FIRST)

Jack finds out that he was abandoned. that the man that he loves HATES the sight of him. that the doctor would rather have a genocidal murderer than have him

and so Jack gets the hell out of dodge to go to a man who DOES love him

and don't get me wrong Jack loves Ianto and Jack DOES remember Ianto until he dies as the Face of Boe don't forget that (protecting Novice Hame from the virus as he couldn't Ianto

BUT AFTER EVERYTHING THE DOCTOR HAS DONE TO JACK JACK STILL LOVES THEM

Jack still considers five billion years cursed to never die to be BETTER than the alternative: dying a young time-agent-turned-con-man

Jack has more reason than any other companion save maybe Amy to hate the Doctor & yet spends 20 years in jail to rescue Thirteen still LOVES HER

AND AFTER FIVE BILLION YEARS HE ORGANIZES THAT FIRST MEETING ON SATELLITE FIVE HE ORGANIZES 9/ROSE'S FIRST DATE

jack harkness is a living ghost a reminder of the doctor's failures a physical fixed point and yet he still loves the girl who cursed him and the time lord that turned him into the kind of person that would give his dying breaths to protect the last of humanity in a dying city and tell the doctor that he is not alone

because fuck it, YANA was a warning but also a reminder a final gift

jack had been there all along, a ghost an echo a PROMISE

there is no more human character than jack harkness

What They Have, What They’ll Always Be

Tim and Danny exist in a space that defies definition. They're not lovers—they’re not, they’ll insist if you ask. They’re friends, they say, though their actions often betray them. But not quite friends, either. Not in the way most people mean it.

It’s in the way Tim’s eyes soften when Danny laughs, like he’s bottled the sound and tucked it away for when the nights get too long. It’s in the way Danny gravitates toward Tim without thinking, like a star caught in orbit, and Tim is the gravity holding him steady. They hover on the edge of something bigger, something brighter, but never cross the line.

“I wanted it to be him.”

Tim would never admit it out loud, but it lingers in every action, every stolen glance. He chooses Danny in ways he’ll never choose anyone else. It’s the kind of devotion that feels too raw to share, like it belongs in a diary no one will ever read. But he doesn’t let it become more, never lets himself believe it could be, because deep down, he doesn’t think it’s possible.

“But he’ll never see me in the daylight.”

Danny keeps the world at arm’s length, and Tim is no exception. Half tethered to life, half lost in death, Danny tells himself Tim doesn’t belong in that in-between space. Tim deserves someone who can give him the daylight, not just stolen moments in the shadows.

So they stay in the gray area: not-quite-lovers, not-quite-friends. It’s tragic, in a way, how they orbit each other but never let themselves collide. And yet, it’s beautiful, too. Because even if they never call it love, it’s still there, woven into the fabric of who they are.

Maybe they’ll always be like this—two people who mean more to each other than words can describe, destined to sit on that line between friends and lovers, but never quite crossing it.

And if Tim ever finds someone who can fill the space that Danny occupies, and Danny lets someone else into his orbit, they’ll still be Tim and Danny. They’ll still exist in that space between, knowing that it’s not a line they need to cross to understand how much they’ve always meant to each other. What they have will always be just shy of what they both desire, but that’s okay. They’ve built something too complex, too rooted, to lose.

The tragedy is part of the beauty, and the beauty is in the tragedy.

I find the way that BBC Merlin set up Merlin's powers in the first episode to be quite funny. I mean, we see this sort of lanky guy and it is established that he is Merlin and (according to our own common knowledge) therefore he is the most powerful warlock ever. Okay, cool. One might assume that he has come to Gaius to develop his powers, that maybe he's only in the beginning of his magical journey. But instead the exposition shows Merlin, in the pilot episode of this 5 series show, stop time and employ levitation to save someone's life with magic, and then it is announced that prince Arthur is essentially his soulmate, and their joint power will create the most glorious age Camelot has ever seen. Quite an exciting set-up. And then for the rest of the entire show this man who we know possesses TIME-ALTERING POWERS mostly uses them on-screen to do common chores and annoy and prank THAT SAME Arthur. Like that one post said, "All of it's destiny and all of it's his fault." :p
