Just a random thought - remember the episode of "The Middle" where Sean/Lexie were interested in each other, but then nothing happened afterwards? What if that episode was meant as a subtle tribute to their real-life off-screen relationship?
Lol, that’d be cute. I doubt it since we’re just finding out about their relationship now (well, I am, at least), either of them have yet to say anything about it, and I believe that that episode’s purpose was meant to make Sue and Axl realize that they didn’t want their significant others to be with other people (although it was somewhat poorly written at parts). Still, it’d be cute if that was like some “4th wall” reference/tribute to their actual, real life relationship :33

So...I was looking for the interview with Beau Wirick (Sean) and Daniela Bobadilla (Lexie) from the 200th episode event for The Middle, and while on Google, kept going for a bit. There's a wedding registry for the two of them! It said they're getting married in July. Just a random thing I saw that I thought you'd like to know about.
Aww, I didn’t know they were together irl. That’s so cute
Good luck to them!

That’s so bizarre! I did some sleuthing and saw it too. It could either be a prank or real. I think they have great off-screen chemistry (like you, I watched the interview too, and geez louise! They were super cute).
Thanks for telling me about it!! I’m curious if it’s real or not now.

Thanks for alerting me anon! Found it and that’s adorable - had no idea they were even dating.

Do you think Sean is gonna give up? I expect it to be a while before he pops up again.
I don’t think he’s going to give up, though he might back off a little – especially if he thinks Sue is going to get more serious with this new Postmates guy (though I don’t think she will… probably :vV). I think it’ll be a while, too, before Sean/Beau Wirick appears on the show again, but I wouldn’t take it as a sign of Sean “giving up” on confessing to Sue, more of like him giving her space to go along with this new relationship (however short-ended it’s going to be) and probably pining for her during the process lololol ;;_;;
I could see them possibly introducing another new character for Sue to be in a more “stable” relationship with and that serving as the catalyst for Sean to finally confess his feelings to her. But yeah, I don’t think he’d give up on her yet. I also don’t really think he’d get a new girlfriend in the meantime, but who knows. It’d be kinda dark if they went down that route though, imo.
Also sidenote: Honestly, I don’t see why everybody wants Sue and Sean to get together now!! and are so angry about it. Imo, this whole teasing thing is good development for Sean and Sue because we’ve never really seen them interact with one another until now. It would just be bad if they got together right now when we’ve barely even seen them together in the past. I understand how/why everyone wants them to get together asap in order to enjoy them as a couple (I do, too), especially since it’s the last season, but there still needs to be some build-up to their feelings for each other before they get together.
This week’s episode “The Setup” showed the right amount of tease, imo (I was expecting for them to not get Sue and Sean together by the end of this episode, despite its promo). It was just the right amount – enough of one more instance where we see that Sue and Sean would make a really cute couple together, but alas, they missed it. That gave me the right amount of build-up that I needed to see that they do have real feelings for each other, and that I want them together. Any further teasing past this episode will be too much, imo (unless it’s just a little bit, but I still think that’s pushing it), which is why I don’t really expect Sean to pop up until later on in the season, closer to the mid-season finale. And that’s when I think they’ll definitely get him and Sue together. I also firmly believe that they won’t get together until Christmas because of the snowglobe leoool :ppp (and that works out as a mid-season finale-type ending).
