Drew the beatles in my OC fish alien universe because I have no shame and my tummy hurts

[Producer Walter Shenson] was most concerned to impress upon me that ‘the boys’ shouldn’t be made to do anything in the film that would reflect badly upon them. ‘You see,’ he said, ‘the kids will all imitate whatever the boys do.’ I hadn’t the heart to tell him that the boys, in my script, have been caught in flagrante, become involved in dubious political activity, dressed as women, committed murder, been put in prison and committed adultery. And the script isn’t finished yet. I thought it best to say nothing of my plans for the Beatles until he had had a chance of reading the script.'

Up Against It was an unproduced script written by playwright Joe Orton for the Beatles in 1967, intended to be the Beatles' third film.

Orton's script for Up Against It was sent to Shenson on 6 March. Shenson tells Orton that he will speak to Brian Epstein directly, however Orton hears nothing until 4 April, when the script was returned to him.

'No explanation of why. No criticism of the script. And, apparently, Brian Epstein has no comment to make either. Fuck them.'

My friend and I once had this funny little parody musing about the Paul Is Dead theory where Paul goes missing (but is actually just on vacation or smth) and the others dunno what to do w/o him so they pool their money, steal Brian's checkbook and buy a Paul clone robot called the PmcC2000.

I'm thinking about drawing all this just for shiggles if anyone is interested. (More details will follow depending)

Before anyone starts to comment or reblog this, please note that this has absolutely NOTHING to do with the IRL Beatles (considering that they did had their own Wives in RL), My Best Friend's AU of one of her Favorite Musicians mainly focuses on the Cartoon Beatles (most likely the YS one) since both the Cartoon Adaptations of The Beatles have their own universes as their own Fictional versions of the Band.

Again, before anyone gets super confused, this has Nothing to do with the RL Beatles, this is only from a AU of The Yellow Submarine Cartoon Counterparts of the Former Band (not the actual ones, if you're gonna start to wine about it since I do know Historical Facts. 🙄)

Oh yeah, I think if Paul had died first John would have gotten for real institutionalized, if at least just because it would majorly trigger all his baggage from losing Julia/Stu/Brian/etc. And plus like you said, people coming at him for being a shitty friend and John defensively freaking out. But then I could also imagine him going through periods of brusque numbness to avoid feeling that fragile, or throwing himself entirely into the political side of it as an outlet.

johns just so damn unpredictable it's hard for me to say how exactly I think he'd react. He certainly wouldn't get more normal that's all I can say

Beatles in a Barrel AU where The Beatles are The Monkees in their own tv show

LA-LA-LA

The Critters began recording for "La-La-La" during their fifth studio session for their upcoming album "HELP!" on February 19th, 1995 at Playcare Road Studios. This first session contained a rough backing track, with overdubbed organ, as well as complete drums.

On March 30th, the song was finished, with a redone arrangement - however keeping the organ and some of Catnap's drum parts form the initial session on the 19th.

Fun facts to know and tell:

The chrous of "La La La" was actually originally a placeholder as Bubba and Kickin hadn't yet decided what to write at that point for the next record. However, they ended up keeping them as the chorus and main bit of the song because Crafty & Catnap liked it.

The Critters performed the song in a sequence in their film Help!, filmed at Twickencare Studios where they would later make Let It End. In the scene, The group mimes to the song in a recording studio environment, presumably intended to represent Playcare Road. However, the performance is curtailed when Dogday's cult who are chasing after Catnap cut a hole around his drum kit from the room below.
