Divine Love: Prologue
Henry Cavill X OFC Summary: Rhylan Daines property of the United States Government, the training she took on, the beating, and pain was all manipulating her to loose her body autonomy, they tell her to eat a certain way, talk, walk, act. Nothing is hers, how can she escape the torture her life has become? Now an semi-active black ops Navy Seal working for the CIA struggled to make peace with her past. She was always told that every life she took, every person she tortured, and every soul she crushed was for the greater good, but how is more violence supposed to help the world? How can acting help her stop being forced to kill? How can finding love help her find herself? Only time will tell...

Prologue
I watched the snowfall on the iced sidewalk; the sky was so dark only a few stars peaked so far away. I sighed, blowing out the smoke from the cigarette I inhaled. The nicotine filled my lungs with a slight burn, then the smell engulfed me as it slowly disbursed through the air as I exhaled. I rarely smoke, only when Iâm stressed and today is one of those days.
My arms were visible, my coat tied tight around my waste protecting me from the wet wood bench. I didnât know what I was doing here, in front of this little diner in the small city of Saint Heller Jersey, I should be back at the safe house trying to find another way to complete my mission.
Part of me knew that I should, but another part of me didnât want to move. I was constantly moving, always traveling, always finding a lead no matter where it takes me. I just want to sit down, even if itâs for a few minutes.
I flicked my cigarette, âYou know those are terrible for youâ I looked over from hearing a rough raspy British accent and saw a tall guy with curly brown hair bundled up in a winter coat, boots, and a green rugby hat. I rolled my eyes, I donât do very well with the people from the countries Iâm stationed at, itâs not like Iâm trying to be mean, I just donât want to say too much and ruin my cover.
The cigarette still burning between my pointer finger and middle finger was halfway finished, in looking at the man once more before throwing the smoking white filtered stick to the ground and crushing it with my foot. I made sure to pick it back up and tuck it into my jean pocket. Iâm probably going to accidentally wash the cigarette bud with my jeans, I thought.
The man smiled, âSee that wasnât that hardâ I chuckled, his smile was nice, endearing, but also curious in a way. Since I didnât say anything he spoke again, âWhat are you doing out here so late at night, especially without a jacket on?â He questioned, I thought about giving the honest answer and thinking whatever, never going to see this guy, again right? âI spend a few months in Russia off and on, this is nothing to meâ I wasnât lying, not exactly, of course, there are more details but thereâs only so much I can tell him. He started walking towards me and gestured to the open seat of the bench next to me, I nodded. âAmerican? What are you doing here, not many Americans I know who would vacation in Saint Heller?â His tone sounded curious, but you could also hear the slight rattle of his teeth as he shivered from the cold.Â
I chuckled, this poor guy sitting out in the cold to speak to me on the frozen bench. âIâm on business, and youâre right this isnât my first option for vacation.â My eyes wandered to my hands as I twisted my thumb. âThen what would be your first option for vacation?â I looked at him confused his piercing blue eyes almost carved into my soul, âYou donât even know my name and youâre trying to get to know me?â I asked as my southern draw poked through my words.
I had no problem with him trying to talk to me, Iâm a better person to speak to at night anyway: it seems as if Iâm more of a night person than a morning person. Trust me after being woken up at four in the morning every day for nearly three years, youâd learn to hate the morningâhis voice interrupted my thoughts swirling, âOh right! Name, Iâm Henry, and you are?â Henry held out his right hand for me to shake, Fuck it, âIâm Rhylanâ
âWell, Rhylan, what do you say we go somewhere to warm up, thereâs a good diner down the road.â I looked at the blue-eyed man sitting next to me. I smiled, âWill you let me frisk you first?â I joked.
Nobody I knew liked that joked, yet he smiled. Maybe he is different.
--
The diner was small, quaint but cute. It was quiet in the booth we sat at in the back of the diner, that I got to get to know him more.
I smiled as I watched him slowly walk to the booth with two cups of hot liquid in his hands, one with a large whip cream swirl on top. I smiled at his cute hitchhiker walk trying his best to not let the cups spill, âOne large hot chocolate for the pretty ladyâ He spoke in a more elaborated British accent while setting the hot glass in front of me and then setting his coffee across then sitting down.
âYou shouldâve let me pay, I feel bad nowâ I stared at the large hot chocolate, debating on whether to drink it. It just looks so pretty, with the whip cream and cinnamon, I caved once the whipped cream started melting into the dark chocolate, âDonât worry about it, also do you even have any British pounds?â He questions.
To be completely honest, I didnât even really think about the negative consequences to answer this question, I just felt so open around Henry like Iâve known him all my life. âOnly about ten thousandâ my face was still in the mug of hot chocolate as I said it, to cover what I said and make it seem like I joke I smiled, when I put down my mug he was smiling as well.
âWell pretty lady, did you rob a bank?â He asked, I saw the slight rise in his eyebrow as a curious gleam spread across his faceâyet I could still see that charming slight smile. I decide to just go with it again, âNo I infiltrated a drug terrorist rink down at some abandon docksâ I laughed again, maybe if I place the truth in plain sight it will make me feel less guilt about lying to him. This time it didnât play through as I wanted, âIâm joking, I swearâ I covered nervously, thank gosh he changed the subject.
âSo where are you actually fromâ He took another large sip of his hot coffee, I still donât understand how he can drink this so late at night and still be able to sleep. âWhat do you mean?â He smiled, âYouâre American, yes, but from what state?â âTexasâ I didnât even think about the consequences of telling him where I am from, my captain would be so angry with me. âThat makes since, the funny accent really stands outâ âMy funny accent you should hear yoursâ I said in shock, âWould you like some tea or a crumpet?â I tried my best to imitate his accent and we both burst out laughing, âOh really--- you want a beer with your fried chickenâ We laugh harder, âHey donât judge youâll never understand the love of fried chicken.â I spoke as we both started to catch our breath.
He shakes his head, a smile spread across his lips, âIâll never understand the need for America to fry everythingâ âBecause it tastes betterâ I shrugged.
It wasnât very long after when we both left the cafĂ© together; it was late nearly two in the morning. But we continued to talk and walk through the snowy park.
âAlright! Bad habits?â He questions.
I cringe, âOnly one?â
Henry stops in his tracks and looks at me, âHow many do you have?â I sighed and smiled âToo many,â we started to walk again. âCigarettes, uhm- you saw that. I donât smoke often, once, or twice a year. Itâs complicated.â I continued, âAll types of junk food, straight vodkaânot the shit stuff that tastes like acetone, but like the good shit.â I paused, damn I have a lot of bad habits I thought, âI canât think of anymore.â I shrugged, we continued to walk again the snow picking back up this time I put on my jacket, not that it does much.
Henry laughs, âI admire you can eat junk food and stay in shape.â I shook my head, âI donât, heredity obesity actually runs in my family I just end up working out two to three times a day, itâs my go-to when Iâm stressed, and so is alcohol, but working out is my first option.â I explained, checking the blocky waterproof watch on my wrist at two-forty-five a.m. âJeez, I thought my job is stressing.â I continued without even thinking about what he said, âWhat do you doâwait, how do you know itâs my job thatâs stressing me, I could be a single mom with five kids.â I chuckled, Iâm not, but how could he know that. âYouâre not, you look about nineteen,â Henry put his gloved hands in his coat pockets and looked down at me on the side of him. âQuadruplets?â I questioned, seeing if he would believe it, he just shook his head and smiled, âFine youâre right.â I frowned, âBut hey! You didnât answer my question, what do you do?â
This is the time Henry lit up, it seemed like he enjoyed talking about this topic. âAspiring Actorâ He smiled wide. âReally?â My words were longed in a shocked tone, âIn anything good yet? I question, my eyes wondering to his brown hair, snow in the soft curls. He shrugged, âIâm getting there I hopeâŠâ He smiled at me, I looked at my watch to avoid the melting feeling his eyes give me. Nearly a quarter past three in the morning, I need to get back to my post.
I paused walking, and smiled at him as he turned to face me, âItâs getting late, we both need some sleepâ âFine---when can I see you again?â I shook my head my eyes following to my hands as my fingers tangled into themselves.
âOne day, if fate is working on our sidesâ I smiled. Henry looked a little disappointed, but he didnât push on it any farther.
âWell, it was great talking to you, Rhylanâ He smiled, I could still see the disappointment in his eyes though.
I smiled and nodded, âThank you for the hot chocolateâ
âDonât worry about itâ
I checked my watch again and then looked back at Henry. âNow listen to me carefully, I wasnât here, you donât know my name or any information Iâve told you. Youâll tell nobody of me, itâs up to your safety.â I spoke with no emotion in my voice, I couldnât show him that I felt anything for him, I just met this man.
âRhylanâwhat are you talking about?â
I took Henrys hands into mine, âJust trust meâ
âClose your eyesâ I spoke my voice softer.
Just like that I was gone, that was the last time I saw Henry.
Little did I know fate was working with us.
Looking back at that day, I didnât know much about love, life and hope. I didnât know meeting Henry my change my entire life, with one mission, one moment, and one spark of life in my hardship. Then the thought of finding love was absurd to me. The thought of sticking together with one person for life never even crossed my mind.
But it was the moment I wouldnât change ever again. Other than the savior of America, Henry was my purpose in life other than to become the drunk I was headed onto.
Instead I had something to look forward to, something to think about when I was down, or my many hospital visits, when I was on leave, I could only let my mind ponder about what couldâve been, what couldâve been made. I once thought, love, life, and happiness wasnât in store for me. Little did I know.

Excuse the Cape Town exploring posts, overload. It may just be a representation of my love for Cape Town and how much I missed summer. You guys, weâve had the most glorious weather here in the Mother City (with the odd cold and rainy days in between â in true Cape Town style) and I have been taking full advantage of it. Since the 1st of spring rolled around, I have been exploring a new spot every weekend and I have found so many lovely gems that was just worth sharing with you darlings.
I am all for exploring and being a tourist in my own city but sometimes I just like to whine down and have a picnic. Today I decided to list a few of my favourite spots in the city that you can enjoy a picnic and that is pet friendly.
Green Point Park
Green Point Park is my favourite out of the bunch. This will be a hit with not only the grownups, the kids (because there is a play area) but your furry babies as well. Green Point Park is situated in Fritz Sonnenberg Rd, Green Point â in the heart of the city bowl, close to all of the popular attractions. There is really something for everyone at Green Point Park. With some walking pathways, cycling pathways, an outdoor exercise gym, water features, childrenâs playgrounds for different age groups and different picnic spots â whether you prefer sitting down under a tree with your blanket or at the tables in the park. When I was there this past weekend, I even noticed a cute little cafe called âTea in the parkâ. It had a beautiful view overlooking the park and it seemed like it was a firm favourite amongst locals. There were security all over the park and even at the play areas to ensure that your kiddies are safe at all times. Entry into the park is totally free and there is sufficient parking. This is the first time that I have been to the park and I will definitely be back soon as I didnât see nearly enough. There is actually quite a lot to see in the park, so make sure that youâre wearing comfy shoes.
The Arderne Gardens
The Arderne Gardens formerly known as Claremont Gardens really brings back so many fond memories. I remember coming here as a child and walking through the gardens looking at the ducks. This is such a beautiful location for a photoshoot as well. We did the collaboration shoot with Cadbury Ps here and the shoot for our range. If youâre a âCape Malay kidâ then you would know this was THE PLACE for wedding photography back in the day. đ . Nothing beats sitting down on your blanket and doing some âwedding watchingâ. Fun fact: Arderne Gardens has one of the biggest trees in South Africa, known as the vast Moreton Bay Fig (or Wedding Tree, as it is commonly called) and is quite possibly the largest Aleppo Pine in the world. There are over 400 trees in the garden so I urge you to get your blanket and picnic basket ready and settle under one of them for a beautiful picnic. Entry is completely free. Parking might be challenging but youâre bound to find one either in front of the gardens or on the opposite side of the road. Ps keep an eye out for the cute squirrels and ducks.
Newlands ReservoirÂ
Newlands Reservoir is another location for a beautiful shoot. Not many people come here and I will once again say that it is such an underrated spot. People however do love Newlands Forest. I love watching people take their fur babies for a walk. There are some lovely trails to walk/run and there is something quite tranquil about the location. The Newlands area is beautiful all year around and you donât just have to go here in the warmer months to enjoy the greenery. Entry here is also completely free, but you have to pay for entry to the braai area; R25 (adults), free except for for vehicle fee (Wild Card holders) and R15 (children). Secure parking within the fenced-in braai area costs R25 per car. If I am being completely honest, as it is quite quiet around the reservoir area, I wouldnât suggest going alone because I havenât seen anybody patrol here â even though there are a lot of people passing with their dogs, taking them for walks in the forest. There is lots to see and discover when you take a walk in Newlands Forest and you can go as far as the reservoir. There is also lots of parking, so I would suggest a lovely brunch or lunch on a âchilled outâ day.
Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens
I mentioned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on the blog just the other day when I shared my Heritage Weekend wanderings. It is that time of the year where the gardens are looking particularly beautiful. This is one place where you are bound to walk a lot so comfortable shoes are an essential. This is one of the more popular options for a picnic spot so you have to pay a small fee for entering the park. It does get quite hot when youâre in the park, the heat compared with all of the walking⊠make sure youâre hydrated. All of that is worth it though. It is that time of the year where Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts are about to kick off and it is the perfect time to grab your favourite people, a blanket and a picnic basket. I have been to the summer concerts before and it is a must if you love local music.
That is a wrap up of my go to spots for a picnic in Cape Town. Have you been to any?

Ana - Krippe log 1
Pre-meeting: few days before start. Me & Daddy talk to Nina. Nina is the leader of the Guxi Sonnenberg Krippe and she is very nice. You seem to like it.
1st week - 3-7 September 2018
Day 1: 1h playing with me there. All good. Nina is with us, talking to me mostly, you interact with her often.
Day 2: same like Day 1, but now Nina comes and plays with you more actively
Day 3: aim is for me to leave you there for 15 mins. We come, put house shoes and you are happy to take Ninaâs hand and say bye bye mommy. I leave, they call me after 10 mins, uncontrollable crying đą... we donât want to push so we go home.
Day 4: same aim as Day 3; now you donât say bye, you start crying when I say I will leave, I take you in my arms and pass you to Nina. Say bye and go. You cry and I hear you from outside. Uncontrollable, heart breaking crying, coming at the door and only saying âletâs go to mommyâ... somehow after 10 mins which seemed like a lifetime you stop, after another 10 they call me to come. I find you in Ninaâs arms, up by the window looking for helicopters. Not crying, but sad đ ... a little win for today đđ» still...
In between the days you still say you want to go tomorrow. When I asked âwhy were you crying?â... âbecause i lost you...đđąâ
Day 5: on the stairs up I feel you squeeze my hand âmommy i want to stay with youâ... i know exactly what you feel and need right now. I take you in my arms and assure you that I will be right back to pick you up.
We go in, do a bit of chit chat with Nina, try to draw your attention towards things but you are not interested. I tell you that I am going to buy something good for you to eat and then i pick you up (i have already with me your favourite fruit sticks snack). You start crying, i stand up and pass you to Ninaâs arms; âi love you Ana, bye bye I will see you soonâ. I make it brief because i have to admit, a bit is not easy... Doing this with the second child gives you somewhat of an assurance that all will be well and that itâs for your own good, but I still feel my heart aching. I hear you cry from outside but then it stops... i leave and drive away. 20 mins. I donât get a call back which means you are good. When I come back you are in Ninaâs arms and start crying when you see me. You donât want the fruit sticks just to be held. Talking to you and Nina, you slowly get engaged and then we go for you to show me with what youâve played the whole time. We stay for a half an hour, chatting, happines restored and we say bye bye nicely and actually looking forward to be back next week.
Later that day you and Sofia have your chats in the back while I drive home.
Sofia: âputiiiiiii, did u like it a guxi?â
Ana: âyes, and i am so very upset...â
Sofia: âbut you did so great, i am proud of youâ
Ana: âyes, and mommy came baaaaaackâ
â€ïžđđą
My heart skips a beat, a tear down my cheeks, but a big smile also. My girl is no longer a baby...
We love you and we are so very proud of you Ana.
Mommy and Daddy.

Yngwie Malmsteen Sayz Hi!
by Emery Columna -
When I wore my hair long, I used to go to this hair cutter that supposedly cut Yngwie Malmsteen's hair. Well, the impression that I got from that guy was that Yngwie was some sort of Megalomaniac, and so the trepidation within me going in to this interview was rather heartfelt because I was worried about keeping Yngwie's attention long enough to generate a decent article.
Talking with Yngwie was one of the easiest interviews I've ever done. Yngwie Malmsteen is a regular guy that happens to be a genius who puts on his pants the same way we normal people do. I did not sense one shred of Megalomania in any shape or form when it came time for our phone conversation. I guess it boils down to if you can handle a person that's done very well for himself. As the interview unfurled, I became aware of an extremely articulate, intelligent, well mannered and self-assured individualist...not some freak heavy metal self-obsessed weirdo.
On the Eve of Yngwie's departure for a European Tour in support of Magnum Opus, he called me (after an all day dry-run of material for the Tour) from his home studio.
He's the Music Director/Conductor of the L.A. Philharmonic. He sounds like he's Finnish...
Why Rock And Roll, Yngwie, why not, why aren't you a world class violinist? Well, it's quite simple, because I started playing electric guitar before anything else, yeah?, I didn't take classical lessons or anything like that. When I was 7, I started playing, actually, I got hooked on to Hendrix when he died, in fact, I had a guitar when I was 5 and I started playing when I was 7...and then when I was 8, my older sister gave me a Deep Purple album, Deep Purple's "Fireball", and then I got INTO Rock after that. So I always liked that hard edge, you know?, I always liked that run around the stage, play with my teeth, throw the guitar around and all that stuff, BUT...I think that most...well, nowadays it's completely out of control as far as quality, but even when Judas Priest and Iron Maiden and bands like that were out, I mean compared to what's out now, they were really good, but to me, it felt a little limiting...so I became heavily, heavily Classically influenced...Classical Music became very important to me.
Where in Florida are you? Miami, Miami Beach.
Why did you turn to Classical, ...for inspiration? Well, basically what happened was, that I felt that most guitar players sounded alittle bit like other guitar players and I found it- not boring- but kind of limiting, you know. Even though I Love Ritchie Blackmore and Hendrix and everything, ...it's that pentatonic blues scale that pops up all the time and it's over and over and over the same, so I became much, much more influenced by classical violin, than I was by any other guitar player...and ofcourse, it's escalated in to me studying Classical music very heavily, you know, like Vivaldi, Bach, Paganini, Tchaikovfsky, Albinoni, you know...Corelli, and that became much more of an inspiration source to me than any Rock band, but I still kept the Hard Edge...that's how my style came about.
Why do you list Enzo Ferrari in your liner notes personal thanks? Because I own two Ferrari's. I have a black 308 with Borrani racing wheels and I have a red Mondial cabriolet.
Did you get them prior to Enzo's demize, since a few Ferraristi think that there are no real Ferrari's after the Great Man's passing. Yes, oh these are quite valuable, they have like no miles...one of them has 800 miles and the other has like1200 miles. So they are in absolutely flawless condition... I'm a Ferrari Freak, you know.
What year is your 308? '83 Quattrovavole, it has four valves per cylinder, so that makes it better and also my Mondial is an '85 and that's red with the black ragtop.
If you have time in the Spring- I'm gonna pitch something to the Editor of Automobile Magazine, David E. Davis, I want to do this Heavy Metal Shootout and all these guys from Heavy Metal that like to race-I mean it's just an idea right now, but if you're interested, I want to get You, Vince Neil, and a couple of the other guys and just Drag. I mean, I'm going to pitch this to David E. Davis, Okay? Sounds like...I'm In, man.
You want to do it? Yeah.
Give me time to pitch that to Automobile Magazine and get it together. What time of the year would that be?
Well it's in the air right now, but I'm hoping for the Spring. I'm hoping to get the Ferrari people interested so... So you mean I won't drive my own car?
No, no...we can do something like the 348 Race Series sort of thing. I don't like them...
Do you really want to drive your own car? Well, but ofcourse I don't want to hurt it...
Let me just work out the particulars... Yeah, if you want to Get me a Ferrari, get me a Testarossa or an F40...Get me the F40, there's no way no one's gonna win. (Laughter)
When you listen to the violin, which Artist or Composer is the best, to you? As far as composers go, Vivaldi, Paganini, and Tchaikovfsky...but as far as people that live today that actually perform it, I think there is no one that can touch Itzac Perlman...no one...he's got so much feel, and so much...he really does it well, Mintz and all those are very good too, you know.
Have you ever been turned on to Nadia Salerno Sonnenberg? No.
She's like the Jimi Hendrix of violin. Oh yeah?
You ought to check her out. She's out there. I mean you've got to go see her perform live. She's like a guitar player, she's crazy. Yeah? Very Classical?
Yeah she does Classical, but the way she plays is like Jimi Hendrix, man, I mean I don't see how she doesn't just snap the violin in half. Very, very passionate. That's cool.
What's your rig like for Studio work as opposed to live? As far as the guitar equipment? Yeah, the same as live.
The Same as live. Yeah, there's no difference...It's a Fender Stratocaster, Marshall Stacks, and that's it.
JCM 800's? No. (In a whisper) No, no, no, no...50 Watt Mark II's, yeah, the old one's they're from like 1969 til about '73.
Do they have the Celestions in them? Yeah, they do. There are Celestions in them. There's one more interesting things that you night want to know, is that one of my biggest dreams ever just came true: I finally built my own studio, And it's not like a demo studio or like a home studio, although it is in my home, it's got the absolute top of the range equipment, like a Studer...
Yeah, I know Studer... It's really great 'cause I can play anytime I want, record anytime I want.
How far is it from your pool? I can see the pool from the studio...It's a perfect setup.
When I go out to Florida to see my folks, I'm gonna come by and see your setup. You got it!
Any other Rig stuff, any pedals? No.
Just pure guitar. Yeah.
How did you get in to the Scallopped neck? That's so strange. Strange?
Yeah, well, not a lot of people can Play a scallopped neck. Well, that's a long story really. When I was about 13, I was like an apprentice at a guitar Luthier because I really loved,...I used to build my own guitars and I used to mess around with my own guitars...and one day one guy came in with a 16th Century lute that did'nt have any frets at all...it was wood, the tip of the wood, it was carved out on the neck and the tip of the wood acted as the fret...I just liked, it looked really neat, I thought, so I just did it on one of my not so good necks, and all of the sudden I Really Liked it so I did all my good necks, and that's how it happened. Then later on, I found out that's how Ritchie Blackmore does that too. I was a Blackmore Freak when I was a kid, but I did not take it from him, as you can tell. I actually influenced quite a few people to do that, for some reason. Billy Sheehan, for instance, when we were touring together http://www.ratw.com/years ago, he did it on his bass, and Ulrich Roth from the Scorpions and Electric Sun does it now.
So what kind of frets do you use? Jumbo frets? I use the hugest frets you can get.
Bass frets? Bigger than that...they're absolutely humongous.
You get them Custom? Yeah, Jim Dunlop makes them.
What about your Machine Head? No, it's stock.
Your Wang Bar? It's stock.
Locking Nut? No, they're all stock.
Have you been fortunate enough to get any of Jimi Hendrix's guitars? I was on my way to get one once, but when I finally saw it, I realized it wasn't his, the guy was a Liar. But I do however, have quite an elaborate guitar collection, it's reaching 200 now.
Do you play all of them? No, some of them are just strictly collector's items. I have one of the http://www.ratw.com/first Strats ever built: March, 1954. I have a few of the very, very rare custom colored ones like Shoreline Gold and Lake Placid Blue, Atomic Blue, Fiesta Red...those guitars are worth $100,000 plus.
Of today's Luthiers, who's your favorite one out there? I don't know that many, but I use one guy down here, his name's Larry Lashbrook, and he's a genius...he does all my scalloping...I can do it myself, I'm just too lazy.
The wood on your Strat, what do you use, Alder? I use the lightest ones I can find, you know, I like them light. And I like the contouring on the body to be really thin, quite deep.
Do you use a cord? I use Samson wireless systems, they're really good.
Are you ever worried about them fucking up on you live? No, they're really good, and believe me, I beat the hell out of my guitars...
Are you happy with the band you've got now? Yeah, Have you heard Magnum Opus yet?
It's great, I loved it. Yeah, well it's the same lineup.
How's the Gaalaas guy? Very good.
How did you find him? I got a friend called Deen Castronovo, and I wanted him in the band cause I think he's a Monster, and he said he'd love to do it but that he was stuck with Ozzie and other commitments and stuff. And he said that he knew this kid that just burns and his name is Shane Gaalaas...and I took his word for it and called him and that was it.
What guitarist out there today do you listen to for inspiration? Nobody, I actually stopped listening to guitarists altogether around 1975/76...I just was't interested anymore in guitar players. I think there's a lot of good guitar players out there, but they don't inspire me and I don't get influenced by them and all I can say is good on you to them, you know, let them do what they do and I do what I do.
Do you listen to John Coltrane at all? Never heard him.
John Coltrane is Jazz Saxophone. As far as Jazz players go, I think that Allan Holdsworth is my favorite.
So you don't listen to Jazz Saxophone? No, I think I've found my thing: Classical violin...As far as my biggest inspiration...on you know, the actual notations, arpeggios, lines and linear things and so forth...as far as chord progressions and tonality... I'm very much influenced by Carl Philip Emmanuel Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, Albinoni...
Which is the tune by Albinoni that you like? It's called Adagio...it's a very sad piece...it's very, very good.
I have a vinyl version of Pachelbel's variations on a theme by Albinoni on the Erato Label... It's one of the most famous compositions, along with Bach's Air and Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Pachelbel's Canon, and all that...
Have you ever heard Pavan For A Dead Princess? Which one's that?
Oh man, it's this amazing piece-I'll send it to Stacy 'cause I think you could do an adaptation of it for Rock. I'm Sure.
If you could pick an Ultimate Rock Band, who would the members be? On guitar it would be 1972 Ritchie Blackmore for straight up Rock, it would probably be him or like Uli Jon Roth on guitar...as far as drummers, I like Simon Phillips and Cozy Powell...on bass probably Jeff Berlin...he used to be with Holdsworth, but he can play anything, but he's more of a Jazz player, ...him or Billy Sheehan I think...yeah, keyboards would be Don Airy or John Lord...I just like the way they play, both of them...Keith Emerson is real good, too.
Who would you have on Vocals? Ron James Dio, no question about that.
When you came to America, you played with other bands. Yeah, I played with Steeler and then I played with Alcatrazz. Steeler I made one album and one tour with him and I did not like that at all...it was not my cup of tea, although I was only in the band for 3 or 4 months or so and I was 19 years old...I had bands in Sweden since I was 10...so it wasn't like a new thing or anything to me. Anyway, then I joined up with Graham Bonnett and formed the band Alcatrazz and I must say I liked that...I liked the songs, I think they came out really well...
How did you like doing Yngwie Malmsteen's rising force? Well, it was the same as it is now, it's just that I called the band Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force. If I wouldn't have had so much problems with the members, I would have only called it only Rising Force, instead of Yngwie Malmsteen, although every note you hear I write, you know.
Do you ever get obstructed when you write? I write in a very spontaneous manner, basically I just pick up the guitar and the music comes out by itself and I just sort of go, wow, well that was pretty good and then I show it to the guys...most of the time I record it first...you know, if I could have found a bunch of guys that wouldn't like become heros up their own nose and stuff like that...I would have probably kept the same lineup and called it Rising Force, but I found that very difficult, because most of the time when we got on the road, they have not been used to touring so much before or not at all in some cases, and to have all the girls and the vodka, and drugs...you know, everything gets to their head and all of the sudden they think they're stars, and then they start acting like they should do what I do...and they should be leaders and they should write the songs and stuff like that and that's where the problem is...
Are you a lefty naturally or a righty? Why?
Because you wear your Rolex on your right hand and not on your left. That's a funny question and I don't know why, I've just always done it.
Where did you get it? I have like 6 of them...
So you're a Rolex man. Yeah.
I'm a Rolex Man. That's Good.
My boss is a Rolex Man. That's even better.
Rolex people have a certain thing about them.... Yeah, I got the President with diamonds all over the place, I got the Daytona in gold, and I got the Submariner in Gold, I got a stainless steel Daytona and a stainless Submariner...
Have you looked at the Omega Speedmaster? I've been looking at them, believe me.
You've got to get the one's before 1969 if you want them to be of value. They're quite nice...Are they quartz, or are they movement?
They're perpetual, but you have to get the old ones, not the new ones... They're perpetual...
Yeah, but you have to get the ones prior to '69 to be worth something. Do they look the same?
Yeah, but the old one are the ones that are valuable. They have this store down here called Gray and Sons, they have hundreds of Rolexes and Brietlings...they have Everything...they have Cartier too, but I think they're a little faggy...the lip on them.
What happened to you in 1987? I learned a very bad lesson: Don't Drink & Drive. I was drunk and I drove my 12 cylinder Jaguar E-type into a tree...It took a while to get back from, but I'm in better shape now than I've ever been in my life. I've got a great tan, I feel Really Good I'm working out and I play tennis every day.
Oh, shit, you play tennis? Yeah, I have a tennis court here.
I used to tune up satellite players on Long Island...I'll kick your ass! (Laughter), Yeah to be honest with you, I'm not that good, I just do it for fun and the excercise.
I've been a tennis bum since I was 13 and I love it! It's great! It's great, it's a lot of fun.
Do you have a U.S. Open surface on there? It's clay...
Har-Tru? Yeah, something like that...I like to use Head raquets...I play mostly with my tour manager, his name's Dave and we get a tan, go to the pool, play tennis, go to the pool, have a few beers...and that's it.
What kind of strings do you use? Oh, on my raquet?, I don't know...it's just stock...I don't know what it is...
Once you get a little better, you should switch over to gut...Bablolat VS Africord... Hey you know, there's a new technology out there...stretch raquets... Is there?...I actually need a new raquet, I wore this one I have out....
The new raquets out today are an inch and a half longer, which gives you greater raquet head speed on the ball... You mean the handle, or the overall length?
The overall length is 1&1/2" longer...Dunlop, Prince, and Wilson are putting out the bigger models... I got a couple Dunlop raquets, but I don't like them as much as the Head...
I recommend the Wilson 2.8 Si Hammer Stretch, with 17 gauge Babolat VS Africord...Go to your tennis shop and ask the guy for the Wilson, try it out and see what you think... Hmmm, you're good at that stuff...huh?
Yeah, when I come down to Florida I'll give you some lessons, and...Let's put it this way: I'll play you for one of your Daytonas! (Hearty Laughter) Don't think so...
Hey man, it was worth a shot... Yeah, cause you would get it!
Is there anything you want to say to your fans? Well, I hope everybody likes the new album, Magnum Opus, and that they can bank on the fact that there will always be an Yngwie Malmsteen and I will never turn anybody down and I will continue to put out the records that I think that my fans like...That's A Promise.
All right man, give me time to get that Automobile Magazine Heavy Metal Shoot Out going... Yeah, get me an F40, I feel really comfortable in that car...
All right man, Good luck on your tour and stay safe in Europe... You know it, man.
Come back to us safe... You Got It.
All right man, Thanks. Take Care.
And so, another Heavy Metal myth has been exhausted for you here at MAAF Box.
Yngwie Malmsteen is a bright, pleasant young man with a bright future. Yngwie seems more like the type of individual you'd find sucking down coffee at a cafe off Broadway near Julliard, since that is where he would be...I don't picture Yngwie at Berklee or at Musician's Institute...
I look forward to going to one of Yngwie's live shows if he makes it to California.

Castle Episodes (Seasons 1+2)
So, I decided to do a Castle rewatch because I miss the show a lot. And I thought I could write down some of my favorite moments and some important moments and just some random thoughts. Not on every episode but those that I thought needed to be mentioned. Itâs a personal post, so I might mention episodes that you wouldnât and itâs possible that I wonât mention episodes that you would. This post is for seasons 1 and 2 only, Iâll start with season 3 now and will publish the post once Iâm done with season 3.
1x01 Flowers for your Grave: The pilot. Where everything gets started. Classic.
1x02 Nanny McDead: Some lovely Castle/Alexis moments. Also, âSo whatâ is the ringtone of the dead person.
1x03 Hedge Fund Homeboys: Thereâs this adorable scene where Castle watches Alexis sleep and heâs really worried about her because of the case and makes sure that she knows that she could tell him everything. Also the next day, thereâs this silly moment where Alexis beats herself up over not paying for the subway and not telling Castle about it and heâs like âyeah you need to be punished - mandatory ice cream for breakfast for a weekâ. Itâs super silly but also super adorable.
1x05 A Chill Goes Through Her Veins: We get some first information on Beckettâs motherâs death. Also, Joshua Radinâs âNo envy, no fearâ plays at the end.
1x06 Always Buy Retail: We meet Alexisâ mom <3 Meredith is exhausting, but I wish weâd seen her more frequently on the show. Especially in the episode where Alexis was kidnapped. Also, Castle gets his âwriterâ vest in this one. Also the scene where Castle receives a message on his phone with his âdad! dad! dad!â ringtone is HILARIOUS. Also, Castle saves Beckettâs life in this episode. The last scene is too adorable where Meredith tells them that she got a job offer and thus canât stay in New York. Castle looks super good in this scene and the way he hugs Alexis is so adorable. He looks so cute the way he smiles and how he holds her and my heart just <3 <3
1x07 Home is where the heart stops: Beckett saves Castleâs life.
1x09 Little Girl Lost: A two-year-old girl is abducted. Of course this gets a little personal for Castle. Thereâs an adorable scene with him and Alexis, where he hugs here. Itâs a âpea-pod thingâ.âI canât imagine anything like this ever happening to Alexisâ I used that quote on a gifset I made about Alexisâ abduction. (this one)Â
1x10 A death in the family: Alexis wants to go to the junior-senior prom with Owen and sheâs like âplease say yesâ and Castle goes âIf I say yes, will you promise to stay up past your bedtime, have a good time?â Itâs so cute <3 And then Martha goes âyouâre letting her go out with someone youâve never met? What kind of a father are you?â and heâs not too sure about it anymore lol and even asks Beckett for a background check on the boy. âSweety, I want you to know that no matter what you think you look, youâre perfect exactly the way you areâ There are so many cute Castle-Alexis moments. The scene where Alexis returns from prom and she and Castle talk - itâs so adorable and he loves his daughter so much, I wanna cry. Also, Castle has some new information on Beckettâs motherâs murder.
2x01 Deep in death: Beckett saves Castleâs life. Also, Castle to Alexis âThank you. For just... being you.â <3 And Castle apologizes to Beckett.
2x02 The Double Down: Alexis has her first heartbreak. Also the scene where Castle hears Martha and Alexis fighting and heâs worried that Martha is beating Alexis, so he rushes into the apartment only to find them rehearsing for a play lol
2x04 Fool me once: âThereâs no one in the world that I trust more than I trust youâ <3 Alexis has violin lessons in this episode and her teacher happens to be âa hottieâ, so Castle goes into full protective mode and wants his background checked and all that which causes a fight between Castle and Alexis. Also, Beckett reads Heat Wave in the bathtub and later in the precinct bathroom where she checks out the sex scene lol.
2x05 When the bough breaks: Meredith âCruellaâ Blake from The Parent Trap is in this one.
2x06 Vampire Weekend: Itâs Castle in his Firefly outfit. âYes, you can go [to the party]. But if anything happens that makes you feel uncomfortable, anything at all, you call me. I donât care what it is. And thereâll be no punishments, no recriminations, nothing, I promise, so long as you just call.â <3 Also Castleâs evil laughter and then choking. When Alexis calls because Paige is drunk, he just goes âIâm on my wayâ and takes care of them <3 Itâs just so great to see Castle this caring and responsible, you know. Heâs this silly child all the time and now heâs actually responsible and a parent. âThereâs nothing that you could do that would stop me from protecting you or supporting you.â I just love their relationship.
2x07 Famous Last Words: âAngelâ <3 The lead singer of a band Alexis likes is killed. âHe called her a ... [realizes Alexis is in the room] B-I-T-C-Hâ âShe can spell, detectiveâ greatest scene. The way Castle looks at her when she leaves is pure love. He loves his daughter so much, itâs beautiful. âWerenât you opening for P!nk?â OPENING FOR PINK OH MY GOD. lol âwhat about Alexis? Sheâs perfect, she has no alibiâ lol Castle, your suspecting your own daughter.
2x08 Kill The Messenger: Itâs Ryan, Esposito and Castle on the couch with a teacup and a bunch of kittens ;D Martha signs up on âMyFaceâ and meets Chet. âAre you looking at porn?â âI use Ryanâs computer for that.âÂ
2x09 Love me dead: âYou know you can tell me anything, right?â Castle is worried because Alexis is clearly hiding something from him. He got even more concerned when Alexis called Beckett asking for advice and still not talking to him. And Ryan and Esposito arenât really helping either :D âMaybe she got kicked out of school.â âOr sheâs doing drugs.â âM-hm, teen pregnancies are on the rise.â âWoah, you met my daughter. You know that sheâs the closest thing to perfect as humanly possible.â <3 Turns out, Alexis only wanted to ask Beckett about an exchange program to France because Beckett had studied abroad. Thereâs also this scene Iâve seen as a reaction-gif a couple of times where Alexis says that she wants to study in Oxford and Castle goes âYou know thatâs in England, rightâ âyeahâ.
2x10 One Manâs Treasure: âBig Castle likes to get in the way. Iâm sure little Castle is a pleasure.â Alexis is volunteering at the precinct. âFirst days of preschool, I used to hide in the bushes to make sure she was alrightâ. âFact Fictionâ plays in this one <3 Alexis closes her âwho does that book full of personal pictures belong toâ case. The way that Castle looks at her and smiles is just pure pride and love.
2x13 Sucker Punch: The storyline of Beckettâs motherâs murder continues. We meet Beckettâs dad. âI have a hard job, Castle, and having you around makes it a little more fun.â Beckett finds the guy who killed her mother, she just doesnât know who hired that person. And she has to shoot the guy to protect Castle. The scene in which she tries to get him back is heart breaking. Maybe you shouldâve aimed for his shoulder. You werenât that far apart and he wasnât in movement, so...?
2x14 The Third Man: Castle ranks #9 as the hottest Bachelorâs in town or something. Alexisâ principal wants a date. And her German teacher FrĂ€ulein Sonnenberg (no one is called FrĂ€ulein in Germany anymore but we) wanted Alexis to tell Castle auf Deutsch âdu hast Sexappealâ lol itâs too cute. Also, Alexis is kinda pissed and annoyed at all this. And when Castle realizes that he grins all over and goes âOh you hate me a little bit right now, donât youâ. Castle to Alexis: âYouâre number one on mine [my list]. Look, itâs my job to worry about you, not the other way round.â Castleâs tie looks slighty different in the restaurant, the color is different. Maybe itâs the light or maybe they messed up.
2x15 Suicide Squeeze: Castleâs father is addressed once again.
2x16 The mistress always spanks twice: We meet Ryanâs girlfriend Jenny <3
2x17 Tick Tick Tick /2x18 Boom: so intense, such a ride, such a thrill. Need I say more?
2x19 Wrapped up: Love the episode, itâs hilarious! Castle thinks heâs cursed because he looked at an ancient mummy. Some weird things happen to him (some of which can be explained because the team tampers with them, others remain unexplained). Thereâs a scene where the elevator stops and heâs afraid itâs gonna fall, so he lays on the ground while the doors open. Iâve seen this as a gif several times (with the #dead writing on it). When he explains the situation, thereâs a random cop just pissing himself in the background, itâs hilarious when you watch him. Also, Castle asks Martha if she would look after Alexis if something happened to him. And later, he asks Beckett, too, because âshe looks up to youâ <3
2x20 The Late Shaft: The final scene is so adorable when Alexis returns from her five-day-trip and Castle hugs her and goes âmy best girl, oh I missed you so much, iâm so glad youâre homeâ. This scene is so beautiful. The way he speaks and hugs her, itâs just so beautiful, so much love.
2x22 Food to die for: Alexis wants to go on a weekend trip with her friends, but she also has exams coming up and wants/needs to study for those. She feels bad about every decision she makes, so eventually she asks her dad to tell her to stay home and study. That scene is adorable. And then Castle is like â1,001 ways to distract someone whoâs studying. We start by freezing ping-pong balls.â Ah I just love their relationship <3
2x23 Overkill: Castle is so jealous of that guy thatâs been working with Beckett all the time. Heâs always been jealous but it gets even worse in this episode. And at the end of the episode (Lifehouseâs Crash and Burn is playing), he watches Beckett and the guy kiss and it basically kills him. The look on his face, oh boy.
2x24 A Deadly Game: Ah, the episode is so frustrating. Castle and Beckett clearly care a lot about each other, yet they both mess up and donât get it right. Beckett breaks up with her boyfriend and starts to talk to Castle, thanking him, telling him that she had a great time with him. And then Gina shows up and Castle says they are off to the Hamptons for the summer and it really sounds and looks like Castle and Gina are back together. And I - as a viewer - get so frustrated because Castle and Beckett canât get their shit together. Man, how did everyone feel when the episode aired for the very first time, not knowing what would happen after the hiatus. Anyway. Alexis is off to a summer program by Princeton University and Castle is so over-protective and in âjealous dad-modeâ because the rooms are mixed-gender and Alexis already met with a boy thatâs going to the program too. Itâs super adorable how jealous and protective he is. And when Castle tells the boys at the precinct about their goodbye, he goes âit was really emotional, there were a lot of tears. ... Alexis was fine, by the way.â :D

These images really caught my attention because of the mirrors used, and how they transform the image to become more visually interesting. I also like the block colours being used as the dull colours in the backgrounds make the objects stand out more. These images have very simple compositions, which is another element as to why I like them, the simplicity frames the objects as there arenât any other distractions in the frame. I want to try out using mirrors and glass in my still life work, as they can add another visual aesthetic that could link my automotive and still life work together, as the car surfaces are very reflective and I could bring more reflections into my still life images.Â
