Why these three together? They’re the first three things I think of when someone asks me why I like the Onceler fandom so much. I really enjoy the open-sourced collaborative nature of the writing culture here ^_^ there’s always a sense of community whenever I see people work together to make stories by mashing their characters and world together like toys. Some of them get really creative with the explnataions for the crossovers too! I also really like how alot of stories here draw inspiration from the (1972) and (2012) source materials, it’s sweet seeing them honour the original work and reinventing it.

Newsie: Beanpole

Beanpole is a tall, thin Newsie with pretty lashes. He wears overalls that are way too small for him because they didn't make sizes for taller guys back then.

Despite having to wear ill-fitting clothes, he still carries the banner tough and tall.

Snap and Jake are also fans of overalls. Who wears it best?

Beanpole meets up with all of his banner-carrying chums, including Hoop, Sprinkles, Leaf and fellow overalls-lover, Snap.

They listen to what Jack's got to say

and as Beanpole walks away, he thinks about all the headlines they've made today. At the front is a weird optical illusion that looks like David is shaking hands with Snap and Guttersnipe in a different frame.

Beanpole follows the rule of three 'S's in his Newsie-ing, they are:

Singing,

soaking

and squinting.

When he's not selling papes or soaking scabs, Beanpole keeps fit by taking aerobics classes.

At the victory celebration, Beanpole is excited to see Governor Roosevelt and tries to get a handshake from him

but unfortunately Beanpole overestimates how long his arms actually are.
