General guide to birds in Israel pt 2- cooler birds
This will be a long post. Link to part 1
White spectated bulbul/bul-bul me-mush-kaf
Usually referred to as just bulbul, this bisexual king is the roundest and my most favourite bird. IMPORTANT! BULBUL MEANS DICK! DO NOT TALK ABOUT YOUR LOVE FOR BULBULIM IN PUBLIC!
These birds are slightly larger then the house sparrow and are easily distinguished by their yellow butt. Their calls are reminiscent of frogs. They mate for life and are all bisexual and they cuddle each other. They are a menace to farmers because they are fond of fruit and tend to nibble just a little at a time. You can find them in all parts of Israel as long as there are nice trees nearby.
Eurasian blackbird/shakh-rur
These timid birds like to hide in bushes and trees. Their calls are beautiful and I love them. They are smaller then a pigeon. The males are black and the females are brown. They feed on seeds, fruits and bugs, and use their beaks to search the ground for worms. You can find them in Jerusalem and the north, they like cool weather and don’t fuck with sand.
Great tit/yar-ge-zi ma-tzui
Life isn’t easy for these tiny psychopaths, which might be the reason they developed such a temper. Their Hebrew name translates to “angry one”, and for a reason. They are very aggressive towards other birds. They also feed on the brains of bats. You can distinguish between males and females by the thickness of the black stripe on their belly- males have a thicker one than females. They are most common to the north of Jerusalem, but you can find them in some parts of the desert.
Palestine sunbird/tzu-fit bo-he-ket
No, that’s not a hummingbird, it’s the sunbird! Despite their remarkable likeness they aren’t even a little related. Sunbirds feed on nectar and are pollinators! The males have black feathers that shine in the sunlight (which is how they got their name) and the females are a muddy grey, but they’re just as lovely. You can find them in all parts of Israel, especially near lush flowery areas!
White wagtail/nakh-li-e-li la-van
First migrant bird everyone!!! (Some blackbirds migrate here but some nest during summer so shhhh) This lovely round bird starts it’s visits around October and leaves when it gets hellishly warm again. Due to global warming the wagtails visits are shortening, so appreciate them while you can. Like their name suggests, the wagtails wag their tails. A lot. You can find them near water sources during the cold-ish months of the year!
Eurasian jay- or-va-ni shkhor ki-pa
Eurasian jays can be found in other parts of the world, but I’m pretty sure the one we have in Israel is a different sub-species because the ones in Europe lack the beautiful black top that they’re named after.
The jay is a type of corvid, and in addition to being extremely social and intelligent, these birds can mimic other animals. Due to urbanisation, the jays learned to mimic car alarms, the ringing of phones and the cries of human babies. Jays are extremely fond of acorns, and burry them in the ground in preparation for harsher months. A single jay can remember between 4000 to 5000 hiding spots!
Syrian woodpecker/ na-kar su-ri
This picture is of a male woodpecker. The females have a completely black head. Woodpeckers can locate bugs that have burrowed inside trees and use their beak and long tongues to eat them, thereby helping the trees get rid of pests! Woodpeckers also love acorns, and compete with jays over them. To prevent concussions, the woodpecker’s tongue wraps around their brain, keeping it in place while they peck. You can find them in non-desert areas of Israel!
Lesser whitethroat/siv-khi to-kha-nim
Another migrant birds! These floofballs come here twice a year, once in spring and once in autum, although some whitethroats nest in the north all year long. During their migration you can find them everywhere in Israel, even in very urban areas! They get their Hebrew name, which roughly translates to miller’s shrubbery-liker, because their white chests look how a miller’s apron would look after a long hard day!
Super winged lapwing/sik-sak
The siksaks are water birds with ridiculously long legs that they use to stab their prey. They kind of look like they are wearing a tux! Their original Hebrew name was “sharoni mezuyan”, which translates to “one that lives in the Sharon and is armed with a weapon” but also “fucking sharoni”. You can find them anywhere in Israel as long as there is a near enough water source.
White breasted kingfisher/shal-dag la-van kha-ze
One of my favorite birds. The kingfisher is a magnificent bird of prey with brilliant blue feathers that always make my day. They are most common in the north and west of Israel, but they nest in smaller numbers in the south. They kingfisher’s diet consists of not only fish, but of crabs, frogs, slugs, bugs, and even the occasional rodent. Their varied diet helps them thrive even in drier areas.

Submitted prompt: The Being Born From Miraculous Fusion.
I added art :)
And I know it says this prompt was submitted by me (Rjalker) but that’s a glitch tumblr keeps doing whenever I edit the submissions to add a read-more…
Kwamibuster AU in which using multiple Miraculous is NOT casually handwaved, and it has unexpected consequences.
-
When Marinette wore many Miraculous the first time, she felt that the slight dizziness she had was worth the risk for the sake of executing her plan to save the city and the akumatised victim.
When her plan succeeded and she returned the Miraculous, after doing more Miraculous fusions, there was no side-effects she could feel, and ultimately, she and Fu shrugged at that.
If using multiple Miraculous had not harmed her, then maybe there is no huge threat from that, most likely. Maybe it was a myth.
Little did they know that somewhere close to the building the Akuma was fought, a sphere of colors was being materialized, growing, until it became large enough to fit a human.
The sphere, ever-changing in color, moved, as if sentient, as if it was searching for a safe place to hide in.
It found a good place inside an abandoned house, and stayed there.
-
Days passed, and weeks later, the sphere started cracking, like an egg.
A sound of shattering erupted, and what looked like a clawed tiger’s arm extended out of the crack.
A few more cracks later, an entire half of the sphere was broken, as the being now shown itself.
A figure looking like a mix of many animals, having multiple parts of their bodies.
A cat’s tail, a snake’s eyes, a fox’s whiskers, a monkey’s face, ears of a mouse, a chicken’s beak, a hide made of what seemed like a mystical dragon’s scales, and a huge set of ladybug’s wings on it’s back.
[ID: A digital drawing of the being described above, shown crouching against a white background, drawn from the side.
It has a chicken’s beak at the end of a red fox’s muzzle, a brown and tan monkey’s face with lighter grey mouse ears, and two small grey goats horn’s. There is a ladybug’s shell on its back, its front legs are those of a tiger, it has a dark red belly, and the hind legs are those of a brown rabbit. It has a long black tail of a cat, and a shorter brown tail of an ox.
End ID.]
The being looked around, realising it was alone, with barely any memory except of what it was:
A being born from the excess energy created by Marinette, using fusions multiple times in a row, and using more than a dozen Miraculous at the same time.
Normally, the energy made from fusion will be too little to do any real effect, and will just dissipate into the world, but this wasn’t the norm.
Fusing Miraculous many times in a short period caused the energy to exceed the limit of what can be naturally fixed, and the energy became denser, absorbing a tiny amount of the power around, creating the previously colorful sphere.
And now, creating a sentient being as well.
“Ma… Ri… Ne… Tte…”
With an unearthly voice, it spoke, as an image of a gentle blue-haired figure appeared in it’s mind, one of the things it caused the being to spread it’s wings, and flying in the sky, as instincts guided it.
And it moved, taking a straight direction towards what it felt to be this “Marinette’s” home.
“Mari… Nette… My… Family…”
—–
So, this is it. Kinda inspired by the “cosmic error” prompt.
By the way, Rjalker, I am genuinely curious, so sorry for inconvenience, but can you tell me if you might write this “the unnamed entity” idea of yours? And thank you.
I don’t plan on writing anything more for that prompt, sorry! But anyone who wants to can feel free! :)

do u have any tips for remembering hiragana,,.i can only remember like half of them..,, they just won't stick :/ and katakana is even worse yikes -S
i cant help you with katakana but im really good at remembering hiragana because of this story my teacher told us in like 3rd grade. i dont remember much but anyways basically you remember them with mnemonics. i’ll give you an example of some but they don’t make much sense without the visuals we were given so just bear with me
あ = “a” for antenna (you can kinda see a satellite shape)
い = “i” for hawaii (it looks like the two i’s at the end of the word)
う = “u” for oo my back (something heavy falling on a back)
え = “e” for exercise (looks like a person running kinda)
お = “o” for on the green (looks like a golf hole thingie and the line is part of the flag)
か = “ka” for cutting bread (if you try really really hard you can imagine the other line as a knife and the rest as a loaf of bread)
き = “ki” for key (makes more sense with the visual, but basically you’re inserting the key into a keyhole)
く = “ku” for kookaburra’s beak (pretty simple)
け = “ke” for keg (once again looks better with the visual but basically it’s the outline of a barrel)
こ = “ko” for coin
さ = “sa” for samurai sword (requires more imagination but just picture it as someone tucking their sword into a belt or something)
し = “shi” for she has long hair
す = “su” for soon the seed will grow (picture the horizontal line as dirt, the loop as a seed and the bit above that as it beginning to grow)
せ = “se” for setting sun (two people sitting together, arm around each other and in this scenario, watching the sunset)
そ = “so” for sewing machine (it’s like a pattern you would make on one)
た = “ta” for ta (looks like the start of someone writing ta)
ち = “chi” for chubby cheeks (it’s like half of someone’s face with stuffed cheeks i guess)
つ = “tsu” for a-tsu/tsunami (looks like a nose/wave)
て = “te” for broken tennis racket
と = “to” for toe (this one is gross but basically a toenail sticking up off the toe)
な = “na” for nun (nun praying to a cross)
に = “ni” for knee (looks like a kneecap)
ぬ = “nu” for noodles (you got your chopsticks and the little noodle is the loop)
ね = “ne” for hole in the net (add in a crisscross pattern in the bigger loop and you’ll kinda see it i guess)
の = “no” for knot
は = “ha” for haha hole in the keg (looks like “ke” for keg but with a hole in it, so people are laughing for some reason)
ひ = “hi” for hehe (someone laughing)
ふ = “fu” for mount fuji (the middle is kinda like lava i guess)
へ = “he” for heaven (pointing upwards)
ほ = “ho” for hot (second bit looks like it’s wearing a hat because it’s sunny/hot)
ま = “ma” for calling mama (looks like a telephone wire/those electricity thingies)
み = “mi” for me i’m twenty-one! (imagine a scenario where someone asks who’s twenty-one and someone else says me. twenty one because you can kinda see that in the character)
む = “mu” for moo (like a cow)
め = “me” for no mess (the noodles have been finished off)
も = “mo” for more (someone has multiple hooks because they’re greedy and want heaps of fish)
や = “ya” for yak
ゆ = “yu” for no u-turn
よ = “yo” for yoyo (imagine the loop as the circular thing, the vertical line as string and the horizontal line as a hand)
ら = “ra” for rabbit (not to be confused with chi, it has an ‘ear’)
り = “ri” for reeds (another abstract one, sorry)
る = “ru” for ruby (rope with ruby attached on the end. it makes more sense if i could remember the story that went along with it)
れ = “re” for rest (imagine as someone resting against a tree with their feet kicked up)
ろ = “ro” for rope (like ru except without the ruby)
わ = “wa” for wand (imagine the curl as a cauldron and the vertical line as a wand stirring)
を = “wo/o” (no mnemonic but it’s rarely used. on the grounds maybe, as it looks like a person stepping on something)
ん = “n” for end (looks like an n, sounds like an n)
i might have missed some but here ya go! i hope this somewhat helps…
there’s also this site i found with a couple of different mnemonics and visuals btw
#in katakana i know my own name and thats it#so i know ma ke i and ra#asks#s anon#an unprofessional gives advice

SOAST- Chapter Four: Books and Stories and One Gold Eye
“Once upon a time, the world was divided by silver and gold, for the sun and the moon lived in the sky as one. Those in Tuma’s light were bathed in gold, and in Moyane’s, silver. One day, as with all things, one side decided that theirs was better than the other.
“Tuma’s golden children began to see Moyane’s silver as lesser beings. After all, what did they have but stars and darkness? Tuma was filled with light and joy, where everything was awake and alive. What they did not know, however, is that the silver children saw the golden ones as lesser, for they did not have the luxury of walking a moonlit field in the soft shades of starlight. Soon, a war was upon the children of Tuma and Moyane before either even realized.”
Sahn did not recite his stories from a sacred scroll, or even from his books of treasured tales. His stories were his stories, worlds made entirely of his words. His voice was soft and fragile, but it flowed over the words like water. It was a voice that would stop a man mid-sentence to listen.
“Tuma and Moyane were furious when they saw the horrors their children had inflicted upon the perfect world, and they came down to confront the people of silver and gold.
“‘Children,’ Moyane, compassionate and diplomatic, said to her people. ‘Why do you fight, when you are equal?’ The people said nothing, too ashamed to answer to the silver goddess.
“Tuma, with anger in his soul, came forward then. ‘Behold the world around you,’ he boomed, his voice deeper than the waters of Elas-Ri-Hradek. ‘Behold the soil beneath your toes, which you have stained with each other’s blood. Is one’s blood a different color than the other? Does one not bleed at all?’
“The god and goddess were right, of course. But, alas, the divided children were too blinded by their own prejudice to see true reason. One day, during the time when neither god could see them from the sky, the children came to an agreement, their only agreement, that they must be separated. And thus, they must separate Tuma and Moyane.”
Aurie’s eyes widened, her mouth falling agape in complete rhapsody. “What did they do?” she breathed.
“As Tuma’s children distracted him with talk of his bright and brilliant greatness (this worked splendidly, as Tuma was quite an arrogant deity), Moyane’s people coaxed her to mortal soil with the most beautiful-”
It was as though someone were hammering a stake into his eye. A scream tore from Sahn’s throat, wild and ragged like an animal. He buckled to the floor in a writhing heap. Aurie rushed to him, cradling his head in her lap, whimpering in fear and confusion. “Ma,” she cried. “Da! Jerra!” But nobody was there to hear her. Sahn could not speak, could not move as something sharp and violent roiled through him, again and again, throbbing like a heartbeat. Tears spilled from his eyes. He squeezed them shut, his teeth gritting to the point of cracking. He yanked himself away from Aurie’s caress. Every touch, every noise, every breath was torture. Sahn was certain his head was about to explode.
Then, as quickly as it had come, the pain vanished.
He lay there for a time, limp with both relief and confusion. Just seconds ago, he was writhing, screaming, and now… nothing. There was no more nausea. His eyes no longer burned like fire. Not a drop of sweat or blood stained his skin or robes. It was as though nothing had ever happened. Slowly, distrustful of his own body, he crawled onto his heels, only to be constricted by Aurie’s arms, her little body shuddering with sobs. “What happened?” she whimpered. “W-What was that?”
Sahn sat in a daze, his throat dry as desert sand. “I… I don’t know.” Had it been a bug? A tremor? Perhaps their mother would know. He would tell her about it once she and the others returned. “I’m sorry,” Sahn rasped, stroking Aurie’s hair. “I didn’t mean to frighten you.”
She pulled back, rubbing her nose with her fist. “You didn’t frighten me,” she said defensively, “I was only-” Her words stumbled to a halt as she met his gaze. She blinked once, twice, tilted her head to the side. “Sahn,” she said, reaching up to his face, “what’s the matter with your eyes?”
“My eyes?” Sahn climbed back to his feet- his legs did not even wobble- and wandered to the mirror in the family privy. Everything seemed in place, one eye grey, the other gold.
Wait…
No. That could not be right. His eyes were both green.
Yet, there it was in the little square of glass. His left eye was now a colorless grey, and his right was now a shockingly iridescent gold, as though it had drained all the color and luster from the other. His grey eye, as well as the rest of his face, was draped in evening darkness. But, the gold eye seemed immune to shadow, glowing as bright and brilliant in the gloom as a jewel in the noonday sun. Slowly, slowly, Sahn reached out toward the mirror, as though the boy staring back was another person, not his own reflection.
He had seen that eye before.
Suddenly, he gasped and threw his head up toward the ceiling, his hands clamping the edge of the sink in a white-knuckle grip. An abrupt, overwhelming sensation swept through, unlike anything he had ever felt, like something that had been missing inside of him suddenly returned, such a feeling of wholeness and completion that fresh tears rolled down his cheeks.
He could not dwell too long on that warmth, or the change in his appearance, for a high-pitched scream rattled down the corridor. Aurie. Sahn raced into his and Jerra’s room to see her pressed, shivering, against the corner, her eyes wide with terror as she stared down at the…
What?
What in Moyane’s name…?
It was a smooth, perfect channel of blue light, streaking along the wood with a faint hiss. It curved and whorled around and around until it was a luminous outline of a circle, decorated with symbols Aurie had never seen before, coming together in smooth and elegant azure. Before she could think, move, or do anything more than stare, two massive bright eyes emerged from the circle, then a snout, then horns, then a long, slender neck curving down to stare back at Sahn’s frozen form.
The creature seemed made entirely of graceful swirling markings of the same blue light, water dripping from its beaked snout and long, whip-like whiskers as though it were flesh and bone. Its upper half curled over him, its thin arms and tapering claws folded into its chest, the lower lost in the circle below, like a cobra in a basket. It was still. It was silent. In Aurie’s eyes, it seemed to be waiting.
For Sahn’s part, waves of both heat and cold coursed through his blood. Memories whisked through his thoughts, fast as a bird’s wings, visions of doors and stories and one gold eye, years old yet fresh as yesterday.
He had seen that dragon before.
I’m dreaming, he thought, digging his fists into his eyes. I’m hallucinating again. He opened his again and blinked. Then blinked again. He was no longer in Aurie’s room. He was in a field. At least, it appeared to be a field, lush with wide-limbed trees, but the grass and trees were not green. They seemed to not hold any color at all, but for the reflections dancing along the earth, turquoise and mauve, gold and copper and white. He gazed up at the sky, and gasped. Blazing rings of color arched over the dark, colorless sky, formed from jagged runes that moved slowly and silently from horizon to horizon, vanishing behind the bowl-like mountains beyond the field.
The dragon still stood before him, staring at him, its expression unfathomable. In the distance, more creatures roamed across the scape, glowing in more colors than Sahn had ever seen, the same whorls and curls like the dragon before him. None made a noise. There was no chirping of birds, no sound of wolves baying toward the ethereal blue moon. There was not even a rustle of leaves in the breeze. The creatures were not of this world. They were all from his forbidden stories, like his dragon.
Sahn paused. His dragon…
He should have been screaming be now, he knew. Instead, he looked up at his dragon and tilted his head. The dragon tilted its. He grinned, and though he may have imagined, it seemed to grin, too. It leaned down to him, its head larger than Sahn’s body. This time, he cowered back, only a little. The dragon advanced until its brow touched Sahn’s, staring into his eyes with chilling intensity.
Something touched Sahn then, deep and precious inside him, something he could neither explain nor comprehend. It was like lantern light, like a beacon showing a path through a black abyss. It was like a long-dead language painted on a canvas of silk, a language he could somehow feel. The dragon closed its decorated lids. Sahn closed his, trying to focus on what was being said. “Go,” he repeated in words. “Go... Wait...” He opened his eyes. “Are you speaking to me?”
But he was back in his bedroom. The dragon was gone, as was the circle. Glittering lights now spilled through the window. The procession was beginning. Smells of roasting fish and cakes cooling on windowsills wafted along the breeze, along with the sounds of tuning instruments and parents screaming at their children to get into their robes. Hours seemed to have passed. Had he fallen asleep? Had he been dreaming?
The answer came when he turned around to see Aurie still pressed into the corner. Short strands of dark hair hung over her eyes, which were stretched so wide that white ringed around her amber irises. Whatever calm and wonder he had felt melted away. Waves of both heat and cold coursed through his body. Air sucked through his nostrils, but he could not breathe as the realization climbed into his mind.
The minutes stretched between them as Aurie continued to stare. Outside, the Kelshins of Gleaner’s Hill began to greet each other. “Moyane’s light shines within you. Moyane’s light shines within you.”
Aurie gulped. “Sahn…”
“Moyane’s light shines within you.”
No, Sahn opened his mouth to beg, though nothing came out. Don’t say it. Please don’t say it.
“Moyane’s light shines within you.”
“Sahn,” Aurie breathed. “You’re magic.”
