Valentine's NSFW - Overwatch Men
Pairings: Baptiste, Cassidy, Genji, Hanzo, Ramattra & Reaper x fem! reader (reader uses she/her pronouns + has a pussy)
Genre: smut/NSFW
CW: cheesy Valentines things, aftercare, manhandling, bondage, role play, toys, shibari, praise, degradation, dirty talk, oral (giving & receiving) unprotected sex, p in v, cum stuffing, overstimulation, cervix fucking, teasing
i flopped so hard this Valentineâs Day but hereâs some overwatch content đ im sorry my fellow lucio enjoyers i simply couldnât do it i could not write him for valentines
â
Baptiste:
heâs a busy man, itâs a rare occasion that he has a day off, let alone twoÂ
wants to make the most of his time with youÂ
takes his time to decorate your room, even changing the sheets to nice red ones and lighting some candles
for him itâs all about the ambienceÂ
takes his time to seduce you, starting with kissing you, then moving down your neck and so on
takes his time with your chest, his expert hands turning you into a moaning messÂ
when youâre finally so wet that youâre begging him just to touch you, he knows youâre ready
has you spread out on the bed, his head buried between your legsÂ
itâs been so long since he was able to eat you out, itâs like a feast to himÂ
doesnât stop until youâve came on his face at least twice, until his beard and chin are dripping with your juicesÂ
heâs so gentle but so intentional with his touchesÂ
teases your clit with his cock and laughs at the way you squirm and plead for him to put it inÂ
once he puts it in, itâs not coming out until heâs fully satisfiedÂ
the man is insatiable, heâs drilling his cock into you like heâs trying to push it straight into your womb
it brushes your cervix and makes you wince, the pain only adding to the overwhelming pleasure you feel
loves cumming inside of you but saves it for special occasions like today
his aftercare is unmatched, the man has a basket of things to help soothe you after the factÂ
heâll massage your shoulders and talk you down
and always forces you to pee because god forbid you get a UTI (although heâd take extra good care of you then, too)
Cassidy:
wants to try absolutely anything
heâs always a kinky mf but Valentineâs is his excuse to dial it up to 11
buys you cute underwear that you can show off to himÂ
wants to roleplayÂ
once you get in bed with this man youâre not getting out all nightÂ
heâll have your hands cuffed behind your back while he watches you try to ride himÂ
just watching you struggle to take his cock without bracing yourself with his hands is enough to have him cumming
itâs just so cute how pathetic you are, dragging your walls up and down his thick cock and whining how itâs âtoo muchâ
gets tired of your whining and has you flipped in doggy, your head pressed into the mattress
this man is breeding you for hours
even after your pussy is aching and dripping with his cum, heâll try to keep goingÂ
switches between praise and degradation so fast he gives you whiplash
âso good fâmeâŠtakinâ my cock so well.â
spanks you if you get too quiet
âfuck, youâre sucha slut for me, arenât ya?â
there will be bruises on your wrists from the handcuffs
when he finally lets you out of the bed, you canât even walk on your own
so he runs you a hot bath with nice smelling salts, candles and lotionsÂ
Genji:
kinky mfÂ
heâs probably been preparing for tonight for monthsÂ
has some of that aphrodisiac chocolate and definitely feeds it to you
so much foreplayÂ
he has you laying against his chest, legs spread out over his own, your pussy wide open for his fingers to dip intoÂ
he loves playing with you and teasing you, listening to you whimper thatâs itâs âtoo muchâ and you âcanât take it anymoreâ
your cute whines must make him want to bury his cock in you and pound youÂ
but tonight is about you and he wants to take his timeÂ
definitely brought some toys with him, like a magic wand and a rabbitÂ
has the vibrator pressed against your clit while he fingers you
even after you cum a few times and whine about how youâre getting overstimulated, he still wants to fuck you until your brain is mush
itâs sweet relief when he finally puts the toys away and lays you down on the bed
you weakly spread your legs around his hips and give him access to your puffy pussy
feels so fucking goodÂ
he gets so deep inside you every time, and heâs going slow enough that you can feel it every time his cockhead brushes your walls
whispers praises in your ear about how good you are, about how you just need to give him one more and heâll be doneÂ
âone moreâ turns into an extra hourÂ
by the end of the night, youâre completely fucked out and drooling, your pussy aching from how good he took care of you
helps you clean yourself up, planting kisses on your burning skin Â
Hanzo:
SHIBARI
heâs been waiting so long for you to want to try it
you run to the bedroom when you get back from dinnerÂ
Hanzo is so patient waiting outside until you finally yell come inÂ
youâve stripped yourself to just your lingerie and youâre kneeling on the floor, holding silky red ropes in your handsÂ
heâs instantly hard just seeing you submit to himÂ
binds you up so nicely in the pretty little ropes, making sure youâre properly tied but keeping all your good places on display
manhandles you in front of him so he can prod at that pretty mouth with his cock
smears pre all of your lips and cheeks before pushing past your mouth and finally feeling your tongue on his length
you look so cute and helpless sitting beneath him and slobbering on his cockÂ
probably straight up carries you by the ropes on your back and tosses you into the bedÂ
you are doing it in every position tonightÂ
bent over, balls slapping your clit with every thrustÂ
on top of him, laying on his chest clawing desperately while he pounds you
against the wall, over the bed, on your knees, on his lap
heâs taking you any way he can
ends it in a mating press, undoing some of the ropes to offer you enough slack to fold your knees into your chest
leans over and coos about how cute you look with tears and cum smeared on your face
youâre stuffed with cum at the end of the night, laid out in the bed, face on his chest
Ramattra:
has no idea what Valentines is, and even after you explain doesnât quite understand it
but if itâs important to youâŠ
is teasing you the whole fucking dayÂ
pinning you against the wall and rubbing your pussy until youâre dripping wet, pulling you into his lap when you walk by so you can feel the thrumming in his crotch plateÂ
he wants you soaked, prepped and ready for him at any time so that when he does decide to take you, he doesnât have to waste any time
has you cockwarming him while he does work, an arm around your waist to hold you down on his massive length while his other taps away at a keyboardÂ
youâre squirming and writhing in his lap for more but his grip is like ironÂ
eventually he gives in to your incessant pleasing
âitâs St Valentines after allâ
but donât even think about trying to disobey him or try anything funnyÂ
pretty much uses you like a flesh light the rest of the nightÂ
the benefit of him being so strong is that he can manoeuvre you in anyway that he wantsÂ
and given that heâs an omnic, he can go all night and never falterÂ
heâs brutal with his thrusts, pounding into you until your juices are spraying out and coating the plates of his thighs
âLook at how youâre gushing on me,â he teases, âlook at how ruined your pussy is.â
probably fucks you until youâre on the verge of falling asleepÂ
after heâs done with you, when youâre laying and looking al cute and fucked out in his bed
heâll just brush your hair away from your face. âHappy St Valentineâs, dear.â
Reaper:
he does not give a fuck about Valentineâs DayÂ
but if it gives him an excuse to take you in anyway he wants, heâs in
absolutely not what he has in mind when youâre binding him to your headboard with handcuffsÂ
he wonât admit it but heâs into itÂ
you spend over an hour just teasing himÂ
rubbing, licking, drooling on his cock, watching the way he shifts uncomfortably with every moveÂ
itâs only after he calls out, âjust fuck me or move on, pleaseâ that you listen to himÂ
Reyes never says please so you know heâs desperateÂ
of course you wonât even think about putting his cock inside of you until he's came in your mouth at least once
when you finally straddle his hips and sink down on his cock, Reaper is beyond impatientÂ
heâs straining against his handcuffs, telling you what a whore you are and how he canât wait to get out of these and fuck you silly
you ride him painfully slow, scratching up his chest with your nails as you slide up and down his cock
eventually you get desperate and start bouncing even more, forcing his cock as deep as it can go
just as youâre about to cum, Reaper snaps the bedposts and frees his handsÂ
youâre in shock from the pure fucking strength it took and have no time to react before heâs flipping you on your back and taking youÂ
the muscles in his arms are strained as he props himself up above you, veins protrudingÂ
just for teasing him, youâre not leaving the room until youâve come at least three or four timesÂ
or unless you beg for mercy (though Gabe is a wild card, and itâs a 50/50 if heâll even let you go)

SAFE WITH HER
(oneshot)
Pairing: Abby x reader
Pronouns used: she/her
Gendered terms: girl
Genre: angstish+fluff
// Owen(gross), description of violence / very mild gore
It was no secret that Abby was fiercely protective of the people she cared about, naturally assuming a guardian-like role. And when it came to you, that instinct intensified tenfold.
It could range from subtle things, such as a careful but shielding hand on the small of your back or around your waist when the two of you weren't in the comfort of your room. Or less subtle things, like her straight up refusal to you going on patrol without her.
Even before you two were together, she insisted on accompanying you on every patrol, unable to trust anyone else with your safety.
Her constant presence during your outings made this all the more terrifying. This was your first patrol without her in nearly three years, and every step you took made you want to scamper back to base. You knew you were competentâAbby knew this tooâbut it didn't make any of the situation feel any less wrong.
"Listen, you and Owen know the area the best, I need my most capable people for this. These items are no joke."
On top of it all- he just had to partner you up with Owen for this.
He told you about how there's an emergency trip he wanted done by you. There was an extreme medical supply shortage, he thought he'd be able to hold it off for about another month or so but was proven wrong.
"I wouldn't be asking you if I had better options, I know Abby won't be too happy with me when she finds this out." She, Manny, and Nora had been on their own reconnoitering trip for a week before this; hence why she couldn't join you instead ofâor at least alongsideâOwen.
As much as you hated to admit, Isaac was right. So you begrudgingly obliged and started preparing soon after, since it was a spontaneous patrol rather than the typical planned ones.
A few days later, your beloved girlfriend returned from her stupidly long journey. You'd usually already be waiting for her the second she walked in. When she didn't spot you immediately, she didn't take it personally, making her way to your shared 'apartment', solely wanting to melt in your embrace after a difficult ten days. Along the way, everyone she met paths with lacked both the heart and the courage to tell her you wouldn't be waiting for her when she reached her destination.
"Baby? I'm back." She spoke softly upon entering your shared space, but said space now felt empty and lifeless. Abby's only companion was a small note you had left on her nightstand. It was short and sweet- explaining the situation to her, complaining about it, and then doing your best to reassure her in written words.
But your gentle words did little to ease her. Saying she was pissed was an understatement, she nearly stormed up to Isaac to tell him off for going against their agreement. But she caught herself, knowing it would accomplish nothing. Even so, she made no effort to hide her displeasure for the rest of the day, shooting him a glare that could cut through steel whenever he was in view. The helplessness of waiting, unable to do anything but sit and pray to any deity that might listen for your safety, was driving her crazy.
The weight of uncertainty hung heavy on her shoulders, amplifying her anxiety with each passing hour. Some might call her dramatic, you'd been able to hold your own before, you'd be able to hold your own now. But that didn't change the fact she didn't trust others with your life, especially Owen, of all people. He wasn't necessarily a bad partner, however, he was definitely when it came to you. It wasn't a secret that the two of you never really got along. And that could only add to the whiplash of how seamlessly teamwork flowed between you and Abby.
The next day, which you estimated would be your last one on patrol, you and Owen were on your way back, only a few hours away from base. The air was thick with anticipation, and every minute felt like an hour.
"If you justâno, give it to me," you snapped, snatching the map from his grip. You mumbled under your breath about his incompetence, frustration bubbling to the surface.
"So fuckin' prissy," he rolled his eyes, the disdain in his voice unmistakable.
"Yeah, 'cause you're such a delight to be around," you scoffed, barely holding it together after the past few days of dealing with him. The tension between you had been simmering, and it seemed on the verge of boiling over. He shot back another snarky comment, and you retorted with your own. The back-and-forth bickering served as a temporary distraction from your surroundings.
The landscape outside blurred as you focused on the argument, each exchange of words feeling like a small release of pent-up stress. But the sharp crack of gunfire abruptly shattered your argument, the sound slicing through the air with terrifying clarity. Your heart jumped into your throat. Perfect, a fucking ambush.
Surprisingly, the threat forced you both to act in sync. Owen's foot slammed on the gas pedal, and the car surged forward. You quickly leaned out the window, scanning the area for targets. Your senses sharpened, the adrenaline coursing through your veins heightening your awareness. Despite being outnumbered, the speed and protection of the car gave you a fleeting sense of advantage. For a moment, you almost believed you had the upper hand.
You should've known better than to get ahead of yourself.
Your body reacted before your mind could process what had happened. Your muscles tensed involuntarily, and your gun slipped from your grip, clattering onto your lap. A sharp, involuntary gasp escaped your lips as the shock set in. "Shitâfuck," Owen muttered under his breath, his knuckles turning white as he gripped the steering wheel tighter, accelerating even more. The car lurched forward, tires screeching against the ground as he pushed it to its limits, trying to outrun the danger.
Then the pain hit, a searing agony radiating from the right side of your neck and spreading through every nerve in your body. It felt like fire, intense and all-consuming, making you momentarily dizzy. You pressed a trembling hand to your neck, your fingers coming away slick with blood. Youâd been shot. The bullet had grazed your neck.
You weren't sure if you were lucky or unluckyâthe bullet had only scuffed your neck, just a few centimeters deep. It hurt like hell and limited your movement, but it hadn't damaged your vocal cords or vital blood vessels. The realization brought a mix of relief and dread, the pain clouding your thoughts. You did your best to stay up and alert, but the adrenaline started fading, and your exhaustion caught up. Slowly, your head lulled and the world went black.
"And you didn't fucking think to patch her up?" Muffled screaming was all you heard when you woke up.
"Up already?" Nora's unmistakable voice asked, sounding genuinely surprised. "Well, I'm glad. She's been having a meltdown since you got back." The woman gestured towards the door, where you could still hear screaming from outside the room.
"So, you got shot." She started with the obvious. "It's nothing majorâor shouldn't have been." Her voice was laced with slight annoyance. "Owen drove nearly two hours with you bleeding out beside him. Even with a small wound, it did some extra damage." She explained the do's and don'ts, giving you a little rundown of what you were in for.
"I'll bring Abby here, let her know you're awake and all," Nora said, patting your arm gently. You nodded, as much as you could manage. "Thanks a lot, Nora."
"'Course," she replied with a smile before opening the door. "Hey, your girl's up," was the last thing you heard before Nora was out of view and Abby rushed in.
When her all-too-recognizable form bustled to your side, you sat up properly, extending your arms for a long-overdue hug. At first, Abby wanted to examine you, to make sure you were alright, before allowing herself to indulge in the much-needed affection she craved from you. She hesitated, her eyes scanning for any signs of distress or pain. But the sweet look on your face when your eyes met, and your eagerness to just hold her, made her decide it was alright to give in to her wants. With a soft sigh, she melted into your embrace, wrapping her strong arms around you tightly, both of you savoring the comforting warmth of being together again.
After a few moments of satisfying each other's need for tenderness, you both let go, though she kept her hands on you, moving them to your shoulders. Her left hand slowly and ever so gently inched up your neck, studying the bandages wrapped around your wound.
"I'm fine, really. Nora did a good job patching me up," you reassured her with a smile, moving your own hand to rest on hers. You softly caressed up and down her arm, trying to comfort her. Her eyes were filled with concern, but your touch seemed to ease some of her worries.
"If I was thereâŠ" she started, but you didn't let her finish, pressing a gentle kiss on her lips. "I know, I know. I didn't like being out without you either, but I'm all good, 'kay?" The look on her face told you she wanted to say more. To tell you that it's not okay because she should've been there, to protect you. Instead, she settled on, "Owen's a dumbass." Which caused you to start giggling.
"Yeah, he really is," you agreed, the tension breaking as you both shared a lighthearted moment.
Abby stared at you laughing, it felt like a weight had just been lifted off her chest and she could finally breathe again. She leaned down, her blonde strands tickling your face slightly while she pressed gentle kisses to your lips and cheeks.
You let yourself soak in the quiet aftermath, in the adoration and security she showered you in. Finally safe in Abby's arms.
Yes, I'm back, again. Hope you guys missed me cause I missed you, might open requests soon too!

Birthday Surprise | Baekhyun
Byun Baekhyun - EXO
Rating: M (18+) MDNI
Word Count: ~3.5k
Pairing: Baekhyun x AFAB!Reader
Genre: Reader-Insert, Fluff, Smut, Cute, Sweet
!!This is smutâŠif that much isn't clear you should probably leave now!! MDNI!
Warnings: She/Her Pronouns used, Kissing, Bit of Swearing, Oral (F! Receiving), Fingering, Wall Sex, Unprotected Sex (Don't!)
Author's Note: This a story requested by/written for my friend @sadfragilegirl! I hadn't written something to post for EXO yet. Itâs a little early for her actual birthday, but she didn't mind, so here is this as well~
I am cross-posting this on Archive and Wattpad. Please reblog! If you know anyone that would like this or future fics but they aren't on here my name and icon are exactly the same on the other sites. Happy reading!
Sighing again, you found your eyes drifting to your phone again. Tapping the screen, there were still no new notifications. You understood with the time difference and his busy schedule that your boyfriend didn't always have a second to spare and reply. You didn't take it personally; it just was hard when you missed him as much as you did. The first week of a tour was always the hardest, but then it would get easier. After time passed though, the harder and harder it would get again. At least with Baekhyun's solo career, he was gone for a shorter time than with the whole group. You also never kept close track of his tours, only what he would tell you. It was too difficult to watch the fancams others would post, because they got to be there and not you. You had to work yourself though and couldn't go with him.
Another sigh left your lips and you reluctantly went back to watching the show on the TV. You didn't even remember what you had put on initially, but it had changed. Your phone dinged and you nearly gave yourself whiplash looking at it, but your shoulders slumped. Your food was there. Grumbling, you got up from the couch, shuffling in your slippers to the door. When you opened the door, there was the food you ordered and you grabbed the bag, but there was something else too. A box was set next to your food, and it looked like it might have been there before. It was white with a red ribbon and a red envelope stuck to it. Picking it up with your other hand, it wasn't very heavy, you headed back inside. You hadn't ordered anythingâŠ
Setting the bag of food down on the dining table, you plucked the envelope off the box, a bit of the paper tearing from where it was taped on. Your name was on it, but that was it, no address, yours or otherwise. Pondering what the heck it could be, you gently tore the envelope open, pulling the card out. Your eyes widened, then stung a bit as tears sprung to your eyes. You recognized the handwriting immediately.
Hello, Sweetheart, I'm sorry I haven't been able to talk with you the way we both want, or as often. It's harder for me to leave you at home whenever I do, even more than it is for you, believe it or not. Everything I saw wherever I went that reminded me of you, I bought. I know your birthday is tomorrow, but you'll have to wait for the presents when you see me. I did prepare a surprise though. There is a dress in the box, please wear it and a driver will come to pick you up tomorrow night at 7 pm. I miss you, and happy early birthday. ~Love, Baekhyun
You sniffed, trying to hold the tears back, feeling foolish. Why did you want to cry so hard? You wondered though what the heck he had planned. Did he set up a party or something for you so you wouldn't notice his absence as much? Finally going to the box that came with the card, you opened it and removed the tissue paper inside to see the dress. A huff of surprise left your mouth, that did not look cheap. Flipping the tag over to see the brand, you were then for sure. It was a beautiful, light blue, bouffant-style dress, the fabric had a dull sparkle throughout and was made from a smooth silk. Of course it was just your size.
"Oh, BaekâŠ" You sniffed again, holding the dress up to yourself, wondering what shoes you were going to wear.
"Are you (Y/N)?" The sharply dressed man standing by a very nice black car asked you. You nodded, and he opened the door for you. You smoothed your dress down when you got in, adjusting it as you sat to keep it looking nice. It hit you right at the knees and you paired it with a simple set of gold kitten-heels. You had curled and put your hair up and added some gold jewelry to finish off the look. The driver got back in the car and began to head in the direction of the fancy part of town. You fiddled with the strap of your bag, watching the buildings and lights pass. Maybe ten minutes later, the car pulled into the entrance of an extremely fancy hotel. You had guessed it was a party, but maybe it would be a meal in the restaurant?
"Have a Happy Birthday, Miss (Y/N)." The driver smiled, opening the door for you and you shyly thanked him, once again adjusting your dress as you entered the lobby.
"Are you Miss (Y/N)?" one of the hoteliers asked as the automatic doors slid closed behind you.
"Yes."
"Please, follow me." She smiled, motioning for you to do so, leading you to the elevators. You got in and she pulled a card out of the pocket of her vest, sliding it into the reader of the elevator, then pressed the button for the roof.
"Have a Happy Birthday, Miss (Y/N)." She smiled once again, and the elevator doors closed, heading straight up. You were feeling a bit overwhelmed with the glitz and glam of the night already. You knew that your boyfriend was an international celebrity and had been for years, granting him plenty of clout and capital, but thisâŠ
The elevator doors opened, a polished hallway leading to a set of glass doors, and presumable, the rooftop venue. You couldn't see anything pass the doors, not even lights, just those in the distance of nearby buildings. Tilting your head a bit in confusion, you walked forward, heels clicking on the floor. When you got to the door, you for some reason felt your heart surge. Resting your hand on the handle, you took a deep breath and opened the door, stepping out into the night breeze.
"Surprise!" You startled, only somewhat unprepared. The lights had come on, the pop of confetti poppers and loud cheering welcomed you. It was hard to hide your smile, seeing all of your and Baekhyun's friends.
"(Y/N)!" An extremely loud voice heralded the action before you registered it, then found yourself engulfed by a Chanyeol. You let out an 'oof' as he hugged you, you rocked back on your feet from the force of his hug.
"Let her go!" Kyungsoo huffed, hitting the other one on the back, who recoiled in an overdramatic fashion. You shot the smaller man a grateful look, but then they both looked behind them. You couldn't see over them, but when they moved-
"Baekhyun!" You beamed, tears once again hitting your eyes and he caught you when you dashed forward.
"Hi, sweetheart." He hugged you close and you heard various voices coo at the reunion, "Happy Birthday." He kissed your forehead when you finally pulled away, then scoffed.
"Hey, you'll ruin your mascara." He swiped his thumb over your cheek and you sniffed.
"IâŠI knew you had probably planned a party or something, but I didn't know you would be here too!" Your smile brought out his own and you hugged him again as he chuckled.
"Ah, what?!" He shouted suddenly and if you hadn't known him for as long as you did, the volume would have startled you. He turned to look behind him aggressively only to have Minseok whisper something in his ear after hitting him to get his attention.
"Oh, right." He calmed down and Baekhyun pulled away from you some.
"I did not time everything right, so we're going to eat now, then do the rest." Your boyfriend smiled, leading you over to the table set up in front of all the others.
"The rest?" you asked, sitting down in the seat he pulled out for you. He joined you and everyone else was sitting at their own respective tables. He pointed to the side at a table piled with gifts and you gaped.
"You guys!" You spoke loud enough, lacing fake annoyance in your tone and your guests laughed.
"Kyungsoo picked out the menu." Baekhyun told you, servers coming out with the food. It was all of your favorites and tasted amazing. When everyone was done with the meal and plates were cleared, another group of servers came out with a beautiful two-tier cake. The rested it gentle on the table in front of you and lit the candles before excusing themselves with a bow.
"Make a wish, sweetheart." Baekhyun wrapped his arm around your shoulder, kissing the crown of your head and you pressed your hands together, eyes closed. Let it be that I can stay happy with him, forever. You blew out the candles and everyone clapped and cheered and then the real part of the party began. Another set of chairs were at the gift table, so you moved over.
"Half of these are from you!" You sent a look to your boyfriend who chuckled a bit.
"So? Just start!" He brushed it off and you started. You got a lot of things like skincare, makeup, and other such toiletries. There were some stuffed animals, a few sets of earrings, a few nice perfumes and a tennis bracelet. Like you said, half of it literally was from him, several different countries were the origin of many. One of the boxes you opened, you slammed closed immediately, face heating. You sent him a side-glare and he seemed to realize what you had opened.
"Oh, uh, you can do that one later." He grabbed it from you, setting it on the pile and hoping no one noticed that it was purposefully hidden.
"It works with a phone app, from anywhereâŠ" He whispered in your ear and you wanted to interrogate him further but decided to do it later. After the presents were opened and the cake cut, you finally got to eat it. Trying not to make a mess with the frosting, you enjoyed the champagne that was brought out as well. People were already dancing in the large open area in the middle of the rooftop venue, and when another nice, slow song started, Baekhyun grabbed your hand.
"I thought it would be weird if we danced to one of my songs." He whispered to you as he brought you to the dance floor. It was the second slow song, but you understood why he did that. While he literally danced for a living, you were not nearly as graceful nor practiced as him. You set your hand in his, the other on his shoulder, his other hand resting on your waist.
"Just, follow the rhythm." He coached as you danced, several of your other friends dancing with their significant others. You smiled as you passed Jongdae with his wife, somewhat envying what they had. That was something to think about later though.
"I think you got something on your-" Baekhyun brought your attention back to him and he smirked before quickly kissing the corner of your mouth and you scoffed.
"Geez." You couldn't help but smile, resting your head on his shoulder as you swayed. When the song faded to a close, you reluctantly pulled away from him, but his hand stayed linked with yours.
"Yeol!" He shouted, catching his friend's attention. He flashed an 'ok' gesture and Chanyeol sent a thumbs up back and you frowned a bit. What were they planning?
"Come with me." He looked like a kid in a candy store, a wide grin spread over his pretty face and you followed after him as he led you inside. Chanyeol had started something on the little stage set up for the band, everyone's attention focused there.
"I was going to wait till after, but I can't." Baekhyun told you, pulling you with him through the only door of the rooftop shelter other than the one outside or the elevator. It was a small staging room it seemed, there was mostly just extra tables and chairs. When you turned toward him to ask him what he was talking about, his lips captured yours, and your words slipped into a whine. Your back hit the wall by the door, hands flying up to his shoulders and up the nape of his neck into his hair. One of his arms wrapped around you, hand on the small of your back, the other on the wall to steady you both. You were glad you chose a lip stain rather than lipstick since none of it transferred over to him. You sighed and his tongue slipped into your mouth, his leg coming between yours, pressing his thigh against your covered mound. You moaned, letting him pull back from the kiss reluctantly. His lips kissed the corner of your mouth again, then down to your jaw, and further to your shoulder. The off-shoulder sleeves left plenty of skin open, so he took the chance and sank his teeth in slightly. You tried to hold back your moan, not sure how soundproof the room was, grinding down on his thigh between yours. It had been way to long, and the little points of contact through the night were not nearly enough.
"How am I going to get out of here?" You scolded lightly as he moved across your collarbone, having most likely already left three or four marks.
"You can use my coat." He offered quickly, barely pulling his lips off your skin to speak, also removing said item. Baekhyun rolled his sleeves up, lips finding yours again. When his task was done, you giggled as he lightly smoothed his hand up your thigh. His finger hooked over the hem of your panties, snapping the elastic. You squeaked slightly when he pressed into you, pinning you into the wall further, teeth nibbling your ear lobe, licking over the golden hoops you had in.
"You're already wet?" He gave a huff of smugness and you just hummed, exhaling in bliss when his fingers ran through your soaked folds.
"Baek-!" You were going to try and rationalize your state, but it was a moot point because your breath left when he sank his finger inside you. You were tighter than usual, not even having been able to get off yourself, you needed Baekhyun. The remote vibrator he bought you made more sense then. By the time he added his second finger, spreading them to get you ready, there were probably three more marks on your upper chest. Your little mewls were obviously getting to him, but the night was for you, not him. He stopped his fingers and you wanted to protest, but he was sinking to his knees.
"Oh." You whispered, letting him gently pull your panties down and over your feet, tucking them in his back pocket. You would have scolded him, but all words left as he buried his tongue inside your wanting pussy.
"Baek!" You shuddered, slumping further into the wall, hands on his shoulders to stabilize yourself. He tried not to laugh at your squeal as he hiked one of your thighs up and onto his shoulder to get you open more for him. His tongue left your core, flicking at your clit, two fingers finding home inside you again. Your walls fluttered around the digits and he could tell you were close. With one more crook of his fingers, and kiss to your clit, you came and he helped you ride it, eagerly lapping at your essence flowing down his hand. By the time the waves of your orgasm faded, you were shaking and he smirked, standing while licking off his fingers. You noticed his hardened cock straining against his dress pants, fingers finding the zipper.
"Wait-"
"Can't. Do it better later." You insisted and he wasn't going to argue. Just as soon as you freed him, the head of his cock was at your entrance and he pushed in. Your gummy walls pulsed around him; the stretch stung from you going to so long without him. The same leg he had over his shoulder he held up over his elbow and you were so glad you were flexible. His thrusts were shallow and hard, trying to get to the crest for both of you fast so he could get you back to the hotel room and fuck you properly.
"Shit, Baekhyun." Your breath came out in pants, trying to stay quiet, but it was hard. Your peak was getting close again, your tight core around his cock felt like heaven, so he was close too.
"Come on, sweetheart. Cum for me." His sweet voice in your ear was all it took and he had to still as you came. He let go as well, the squeeze too good. Catching your breath, you startled when someone knocked on the door hard. Baekhyun must have taken it as a signal for something, because he got himself fixed up and let you have his suit jacket to cover your shoulders. In the low light he could see the rising deep red and purple welts, a few with light teeth marks.
"Okay, lets go."
"What-?"
"Yeol got everyone distracted, so now you don't feel good, so we're leaving!" He grinned like a goof and you scoffed, shuffling after him to the elevator. Chanyeol seemed to be guarding the door, back to you, and you giggled as the lift doors closed. Your boyfriend looked at you, his hair a bit messy and you both laughed. He still had your panties in his pocket⊠When the elevator got to the floor for the room he booked, you slipped out, slinking past a group of what looked like college guys walking down the hall. You held his jacket over you tighter, following Baekhyun as he led you. When he had gotten you into the hotel suite, your giggles turned into a full laugh, and he couldnât help but join.
"Come on, sweetheart. The bed is all readyâŠ"
After unwrapping you like you were a present, he sat behind you on the bed, leading you to rest your back to his chest.
"What are we doing?" You asked, letting his hands on your hips guide you. He sat on his knees, having you straddle his lap and he sank lower as you settled on him, cock filling you back up. Sighing at the feeling of him inside you again, he kissed over your shoulders again, sucking another mark at the base of your ear. Resting your head on his shoulder, his hands guided you to grind down onto him, the angle had the head of his cock right in the best spot, rubbing and pressing you into a tizzy. You wondered why it felt so much more intense than normal, more intimate.
"You looked so beautiful tonight. I knew the dress was perfect." His voice, low and soft in your ear seemed to vibrate over you and your hips stuttered through the rhythm you both had set. Baekhyun leaned back a bit more, you followed since you were resting on him, and the shift let him slide in even deeper and you gasped at the rapidly rising pleasure.
"I loved hearing you laugh in person, being able to hold you." One of his hands slid up over your stomach, cupping your breast.
"Feel your soft skin, kiss you, taste youâŠ" You whimpered, his hips shifting to meet yours, thrusting up to meet your rolling hips.
"Wanna see youâŠ" You whined and he hummed, smirking.
"Okay, sweetheart." While you were not pleased that he pulled out, you were quickly filled back up when your back hit the bed. His hands wrapped around yours when they went to cup his jaw, mouth meeting yours again. Linking your fingers, he pinned your hands up by your head with his, pulling back just enough so your lips still brush slightly. You wrapped your legs tighter around his waist, and he snapped his hips hard, picking the pace up immediately. You couldn't hold back your moans, writhing in pleasure under him, the bed frame groaning from the force. You wanted to touch him too, but his hands on yours prevented it. He smirked against your lips, switching to using his one hand to hold both your wrists in place. The free hand gripped your thigh, shifting your leg up higher so he could get even deeper inside of you. It was hard for you to get out anything intelligible other than his name and your orgasm was rising faster than you anticipated.
"God, you're so beautiful. I love you so much, (Y/N)." His pace was stuttering, the vice of your core sending him closer to the edge as well.
"Love you too~" You managed to get out and your voice crested into a high moan as you fell over the edge. He groaned himself, spilling inside, filling you with warmth and swallowing your noises with a sealing kiss.
"Happy Birthday, sweetheart." Baekhyun smiled warmly and you giggled tiredly.
"You really didn't have to do so muchâŠ" You pouted playfully and he hummed, shaking his head.
"I did. I love you, and whenever I'm gone for so long, so far away, you're all I think about. I honestly wish I would have done more.â

It was an unusually relaxed day in the Defense Force, free from the hectic stress of kaiju threats and the like. The day was spent training as usual, but everyone can tell that the atmosphere wasn't heavy with the burden of protecting Japan. They just knew, despite their doubts, that it wasn't the calm before a stormâ the worry that their respite would soon be ruined by the stupid beasts that had been haunting them since time immemorial.
There was a distinct chill in the air, signaling the start of the crisp season of autumn. The officers of the Defense Force were already used to the drop in temperature, however some were not completely immune.
You were currently surrounded by your fellow recruits, talking about the sudden cold.
âIt feels quite colder than last year,â Kikoru mentions, a small shiver running down her body. She rubs her hands together to gain warmth.
âYeah, it wasn't this bad then.â Haruichi agreed while burying his hands deep into his parka jacket.
The group continued walking through the streets of the city, their batch having been approved for a day off after training.
âReno, how in the damned hell are you unaffected?â reno my ice ice baby girl- Iharu hounded the mint haired male as he picked at the other maleâs choice of outdoor clothes, the latter responding with a raise of an eyebrow and a shrug.
âWe should get warm drinks,â you piped up as everyone expressed their agreement at your suggestion.
âI know just the place.â Haruichi pulled out his phone to show the group a cafe located not too far away. Before long, everyone arrived at the establishment with the ring of the bell above the door.
âHot chocolate would be perfect,â Kafka sighed out, everyone else thinking of what warm drink to get as their eyes scoured through the menu.
âI'll probably have my usual coffee.â
âMaybe matcha tea?â
âHot milk tea for me.â
âMacchiato.â
âThere's no eggnog?â imsosorryidkwhatchristmasdrinktoputlmao a hum followed as the whole group stared at you with varying emotions.
You had a finger to your lip in thought while scanning the menu. You had your eyebrows slightly scrunched in concentration, debating what to get. A few gazes lingered on your face for a bit too long.
Noticing the silence, you looked at your friends and tilted your head. Realization creeps on your face and you cover your mouth with one palm, bowing apologetically.
âMy bad, I didn't mean for everyone to wait for my order⊠I'll get the same as Reno then,â you sheepishly said.
â àŒËłâąâ â °. âïŸâ Ëâ *â â ïœĄâ ᎄ
âHold on, I think I have to go get my package.â
âAgain? That's like the 6th one this month, (Y/n).â Kikoru stopped walking before turning to you to raise an eyebrow while resting her hands on her waist.
You shrugged your shoulders, seeing no problem in buying stuff with your own money coughcoughnarumicanneverjkcough.
âWhat's wrong with it? It's not like I'm broke from buying stuff from Yamazon, no? UnlikeâŠâ you trailed off, letting your blonde friend finish for you.
She sighs in response, dropping her arms to her sides as you two resume walking.
âAs much as I want to say a comeback, you're right about my moronic teacher⊠I swear, he always asks me for money.â
âOh, KikoruâŠâ you pat her back, laughing lightheartedly, âbut I do gotta wonder how he does that when his paycheck is more loaded than mineâŠâ
Your younger friend shook her head, already done with the conversation. She waved you goodbye when you two had to separate ways.
You hummed on your way to the office where one receives any delivered goods from outside the base. You waved and smiled at the nice lady at the desk you managed to get acquainted with from your recent visits.
She pulled up a few boxes from under her desk, creating quite the stack. The lady sweat dropped when her eyes trailed from the piled parcels to youâ realizing that it'd be quite troublesome for you to carry alone.
Meeting her gaze and knowing what she was thinking, you shook your head and pulled a thumbs up.
âDon't worry, I can handle this. I just have to sign here as usual right?â
She only nodded, still a little worried as you started stacking each box carefully in your arms. Her concern only raised when your head was barely peeking out from the topmost package.
âThank you again!â and you somehow safely maneuvered yourself out the doorway without hitting anything.
You were doing pretty well despite having most of your eyesight blocked, having to rely on your other senses. You gotta be thankful that all that training paid off, but perhaps you may have overestimated your capabilities.
Although, you could've sworn nobody was in the vicinity as you felt no other presenceâ heard no other footsteps, rustling of clothes, or even breathingâ, you still failed to react fast enough when you collided with someone at the next turn.
Your eyes widened in surprise while some of your packages flew upwards. Everything was in slow motion but you felt a faint warmth wrap around your back and waist to catch you from falling.
You focused more on the packages that were about to fallâ afraid that some of the items would breakâ and caught them⊠except for one that soared a bit too far from your reach.
Thankfully, the person who you collided with managed to grab ahold of the last box. You closed your eyes and sighed in relief.
A deep playful chuckle reverberated in the air. Your eyes opened to be met with the cheeky grin of Vice Captain Hoshina. implayingfavoritesperhaps
You blinked at him before standing up straight and off his arm.
âVice Captain Hoshina, sir! I apologize for the disrespect, but I am unable to currently salute you, sirâŠâ
The man only laughs and waves it off with a friendly smile, a hint of one of his canines poking out.
âAt ease,â he scanned you from head to toe, âquite a hazard to walk around with âya vision blocked, no?â still in his hand was the package he caught for you.
âI was holding up quite well due to your trainingâŠâ you stared up at him before narrowing your eyes jokingly, âBut your movements had no sound at all, not even a rustle of your clothes.â
He hummed before taking half the pile of boxes in your arms.
âWhere to?â
You tilted your head curiously at his gesture. Alhough it was not unusual for the vice captain to be kind, he usually didnât show it in such a straightforward way. Nonetheless, you appreciated how he still left some for you to carry on your own.
You smiled and answered him, both of you falling in step towards your destination.
âSo what're these for? Noticed you've had deliveries the past month as well.â The purple haired man queried.
You had a slight skip in your step, quite excited to open up the packages that you received. In response to his inquiry, you smiled up at him with a glint in your eyes, âJust some early gift buying for the holidays, sir.â before turning your head away to hum a tune in your head.
âChristmas shopping in September?â
Hoshinaâs eyes remain trained on your form, processing what you just said, before he shook his head and just let you be. Everyone else had learned to not to question you much no matter how⊠eccentric you were at times. Your eccentricity was one of your charms anyways.
âCareful with what you buy, don't want âya ending up like a certain captain of the First DivisionâŠâ He advised, finding the opportunity to poke fun at said person despite their current absence.
You rolled your eyes, finding it funny that this is the nth time today Captain Narumi was slandered. âI'm more responsible with my money than you all think, sir.â
Far away in the Ariake Maritime Base of the JAKDF, a certain two-toned haired male let out a sneeze while he was busy playing on his gaming console.
Hasegawa shook his head, âthat's what gaming all night gets you,â the older man chided his captain as the said person only covered his ears, unwilling to listen to another lecture.
â àŒËłâąâ â °. âïŸâ Ëâ *â â ïœĄâ ᎄ
Another yoju drops dead on the concrete ground, everyoneâs comms crackling to life.
âImmeasurable amount of yoju bounding to Zone Beta, honjuâs whereabouts are unknown,â the familiar voice of Operations Manager Okonogi made itself through the earpiece.
âThere's just no end to this!â an officer grumbled as everyone else started bounding to the designated zone.
âKaiju horde spotted, permission to engage?â You announced into your device while readying your gun, being the first in position. The horde had an average of only 3.6 fortitude levelâ however, their numbers were what made them problematic. The operations room gave you the signal, indicating that it was something you could handle with your capabilities despite only being a recruit.
You wasted not another moment, immediately pulling the trigger of your pre-aimed gun. A yoju drops as its fellow species trampled over its fallen corpse.
The ground was rumbling with the beastsâ stampede through the open road. Yet again, another shot, another corpse. They were still far from your position, so you continued to efficiently gun down kaiju after kaiju.
You get into a steady beat, unconsciously following a certain rhythm from the back of your mind. You remain locked in, completely washing out most of your surroundingsâ well of course you are still aware of what's going on around you, just more hyperaware than ever.
âFirst Division backup has arrived at Zone Betaâ
You continued firing away, by now the horde was noticeably dwindling away already. A pair of red glaring lenses watched on, having the pleasure of watching your work first hand as the owner was fastest to arrive.
Captain Narumi only wanted to quickly clear the largest wave of kaiju emergence of the year by farâ cursing already how his division had to do a joint operation with the Third. Color him impressed as he just observed how you could clear the horde pretty much on your own. He was mesmerized by the timing and pattern of which you fired your gunâ
He narrows his eyes when he realizes something, noticing that it was like you were casually playing a rhythm game with the monsters. Well, that wasn't exactly what made him pauseâŠ
âShe isn't shooting them down in the beat of a Christmas song, is she?'
â àŒËłâąâ â °. âïŸâ Ëâ *â â ïœĄâ ᎄ
âDo any of you think that maybeâjust maybeeâ(Y/n) is actually insane?â Iharu randomly blurted out as the usual group of recruits gathered around. You weren't present at the moment since you were called to the captain's office for something.
âYouâre the madman here for being brave enough to even question it.â Kikoru stated matter-of-factly.
âWe're literally surrounded by unique people, why are you only pointing fingers at her?â Reno raised an eyebrow, ready to defend you anytime.
âI mean⊠it's only September⊠and she's already making holiday preparations!â The pink-haired male tried to explain.
â...He does make quite the point.â Kafka nodded along.
âEh, how are you all sure she's been doing so?â Reno challenged.
The eldest of the group mentioned what he noticed, âHasnât (Y/n) been craving and looking for Christmas season foodââ
âYou've no right to judge a woman's sudden urge to eat something.â Hakua interjected, the tall female always so passionate when it comes to cuisine.
âCome to think of it⊠Her part of the roomâs been unusually cramped with some packages...â Akariâs mellow voice echoed out.
âIt's not really our business to pry into how she uses her paychecks thoughâŠâ
and so the group bickered back and forthâ one half providing âevidenceâ of your weird behavior, the second half making up possible reasons behind them.
âSheâs been humming âAll I want for Christmas is Youâ by Mariah Carey the past 2 weeks for fuck's sake!â
â àŒËłâąâ â °. âïŸâ Ëâ *â â ïœĄâ ᎄâ àŒËłâąâ â °. âïŸâ Ëâ *â â ïœĄâ ᎄâ àŒËłâąâ â °. âïŸâ Ëâ *â â ïœĄâ ᎄâ àŒËłâąâ â °. âïŸâ Ëâ *

Hello there!
I spent Valentine's Day ruining patrons' nights at my restaurant by telling them our computers were down, but what can you do, you know? Other than that, February was a good time. I was able to read a lot more, and prepare a more in depth list for you, even if it's short.
Hope you enjoy!
Bridges by @cavendishbutterfly E, 16.1k
Reading this felt like getting a personal tour of Budapest. The reverence the author has for the location shines through and gives you a lovely look at a new location. I find Harry exploring his sexuality abroad especially interesting- as if being somewhere else allows him a sort of freedom he wouldn't find at home. There's an appreciation for beer in this fic that I appreciate, since beer is one of life's greatest treasures. I especially loved Cho Chang being a main character in this fic. I love seeing her being utilized in such a fun way when she was done so dirty by she who shall not be named.
Thickets by @wolfpants E, 17k
There are some insane lines in this (very positive), along with some very fun portrait dialogue. Gut-wrenching and extremely intimate. Some scenes can leave you feeling like you're intruding on a very personal moment as a reader. I love a Harry Potter who's a bit obsessed with Draco. ALSO, this fic contains one of the hottest wet dreams I've ever read. Do with that what you will.
Polar Night/Midnight Sun by toomuchplor E, 54.3k
Harry is very horny. Like, at times, this fic is so sexually charged it's almost unbearable. In a very good way. The clothing descriptions make me want to touch those mittens and hats so bad. I know they'd be soft and so fucking squishy. A few things this fic includes: one bed, a lack of magic, for a while, that is perfectly reasonable, and Harry's thing for Draco's teeth (they're like a military cemetery, if you even care.) Also, the sexual allure of someone struggling to get into an attic (I get it,) and Draco's daddy issues (typical but welcomed.) Diagnosis: Extensive therapy. For everyone. Even the dog. ALSO, these boys have STAMINA.
Recursion by @tessacrowley E, 132.5k
As I said in a previous post, "Sometimes you just have to zap Draco Malfoy into the past and let him live for years as the wizard Young Sheldon." This fic will give you WHIPLASH, but it won't be nearly as bad as Draco's. This boy(man?) goes through it. Absolutely engrossing. I couldn't stop reading until I was finished. I love a good canon rewrite, and @tessacrowley has now written my two favorite fics in that genre. Their characterization of Draco is always spot-on in whatever context they put him in. Show-stopping, fantastic, wonderful.
See you next month! XX, Moon.

And your fears could fill bootes void
Genre : Fluff, (Emotional) Hurt comfort,
Notes : ADHD and GN! Reader, you are wearing make up and a dress though, self indulgent, soft! Arlecchino :), please don't try to fill bootes void with anything it's 300 million ligth years big and houses only 60 galaxies, based on my horrible graduation preparation
Sypnosis : You are panicking and nothing seems to go rigth, but then Arlecchino comes to your rescue.
Take me to AO3
You ball the wipes up and throw them at the nearest trashcan, missing, but that wasn`t of your concern now. You grabed the eyeliner once again, the lid had been long abandoned, exposing the pointy liquid brush. You take a deep breath as you watch yourself setting it at the redend corner of your eye, drawing a straigth line in one fell swoop. You let the air escape from your lungs, moving to do the next eye. Then your eyes fall on the reflection of the clock and you start to visibly shake. Curses fall from your lips as you realize, and you hold your head in your hands, realizing only now how bad it really was.
âThis is fine, it is ok.â
You tell yourself, lie to yourself. You release your head, you were sure that you could fix it still, very simple, esspecially considering your shaking body and the clock that is ticking closer to your independing doom. You turn to the mirror, mind with the clock, eyes on the line, you were sure you could do it. You set on, getting ready. But alas, it worked as well as it did before. Your breath quickend as you grabbed another round of wipes, tears rolling down your cheeks ruining your remaining make up. Why did they write the wrong time on the invite!? God fucking damn it. Why should you even go at this point? You would just embarass Arle and the whole Fatui as a whole. Worse even : you`d miss the start. Running in after everyone else certainly wouldn`t look flattering.
You screamed quickly, not noticing the woman in your mirror untill you were done.
Her presence was like a whiplash into your face, you wiped your tears away, standing up, your breath still short, tears still burning their way down.
âI will take that as a `no`.â
She must have asked you something. You suck in a breath. âI can not with this fucking eyeliner and now that I started crying everything is ruined! I am not even in my clothes and- damn we will run late! I called and gods! You should just go withouth me!â during your outburst Arlecchino had moved to your vanity already, waiting untill you were finished. You watch her leaning against it.
âSit.â she said, her head leaning towards the chair.
You stare for a few second before your body follows her ask and sits you down on the chair, she takes your chin, making you look up at her. Her gaze sweps over your face, then she mumbles :âYou`ve been to harsh on yourself.â she takes a wipe herself and has it gently go over your eyes, a gentleness that was only reserved for you and maybe sometimes the children. âAnd you didn`t get everything.â she adds, rubbing a bit. It takes her a while untill she holds your head up in satisfaction, untill her thumb strokes your cheek. âThere. We can work with that.â
She takes a few steps back, to the trashcan and you get a better look at her. You bite your lips. âYou look...â she slowly turns back. Her body was covered with a formal suit, though she had removed her jacket and rolled up her sleeves, after coming in, exposing her muscles. You blush. How childish. âPretty handsome.â
âAnd the person at my side will look equally as good.â you smile, and her eyes got kinder. âNow close your eyes for me?â you watch as she dips one of your brushes into a palette, then do as she asked. The brush caresses over your eyelids like a feather, while the ticking of the clock cuts into your ears like a knife. Your leg starts to shake again.
âWe will be late.â you state.
âIt could indeed come to that. But, it is not our fault if they put the wrong time on it.â
You open your eyes as she looks for something, then hear her open the mascarra with a plop.
As you look up at her and as the ligth purs down at her she, she almost seems like an angle with an white halo. She would stab most for the comparison though, unless they put âDeathâ in it. Your angle of death. âDon`t stab me with that?â you joke.
She snickered. âI`d never.â she applied it as gently as when she swiped your face, or when she did the eyeshadow. Arlecchino then took a good look at everything, turning your head, tilting hers, she then took the eyeliner, you watched her shake it to then close your eyes, biting your lips in anticipation. A smooth line was drawn twice and then both were filled in.
You wanted to open your eyes but she shut them.
âI am not done yet.â she declares
Your ears go back to the clock. âArle-â
âDo not worry. I will handle it.â it didn`t do much, yet you decided to sit still. For the next few minutes, she is doing something with your face, you think she may be retouching the foundation and the blush, but who knows.
You hear the brushes being sorted in, everything really. She was a neat person, was she not? Always making sure the blood was scrubed away and always taking care of the witnesses herself.
âDone.â she then announces withing a breath, you turn to the mirror with a smile, then crock your head while staring at the ligth eyeshadow, the blush accentuating your cheekbones.
âIt is very decent.â
She puts her hands on your shoulders. âThere was no reason for much. I just accentuated what was already there.â she quickly kissed your cheek and then moved to your dress, to your shared bed.
You turn back to the clock, fear hovering above you like a sword. âWe will be so late-â
âWill you need my assitance with the dress?â
You took a breath. âPerhabs.â you then hurry to undress, while Arlecchino is putting her jacket back on.
âAlrigth.â you state, sliping into the dress, nearly tripping in the process.
Arlecchino quickly zips you up, giving you another chaste kiss on the back of your neck, but you had no real time to react since she decided to twirl you slowly, but your eyes were only glued to the door. âYou look ravishing my dear.â
You flashed a quick smile at her before taking her hand and formly dragging her towards the door.
Arlecchino only gave you a sigh as you asked if you`d come at the rigth time by foot.
She stopped you once you got in front of the door. âWhat, what is it?â
She pushed your hair back, grabbing your face. âThe way is only five minutes, calm down.â
She then took your arm, opening the door for you, hushing a look at your shoes.
âHuh, you are wearing the shoes I gave you.â
You couldn`t stop yourself. âNo.â the lie slips from your lips like butter and she stares into your soul. You count the seconds, her steps. After a few years of being married you were able to lie and look into her eye after for maybe ten seconds before gaining a headache, though that number subtracted itself by half due to your nervosity this fine evening. You looked down. âYes. They are pretty.â
She chuckled, taking your hip before walking down the stairs. âYou should stop this little game of yours IÂŽm slowly burning away all of your braincells at this point.â
âWell, have I ever had any to begin with?â
She would have chuckled if you weren`t out. Your wolf. âYou have always been impecable.â All of a sudden you felt her lips against your own. You let yourself melt into it, her, making you forget your fear for just a few seconds. It was not usuall for her to do this unprompted, most times you were gratefull for that, but now.
She parted from you, though her touch lingered for longer. You breated, remembering what she had said, smiling up at her. âWell thank you my dearest husband.â
And like that, you made your way to the event and it couldnÂŽt have gone better.

I love how audio drama is a fairly small community, and you get actors who play major roles in one show popping up in other ones. It's genuinely one of my favorite parts of the genre, seeing where different artists intersect.
That said, nothing could possibly have prepared me for Zach Valenti showing up in The Amelia Project's 2021 Christmas special, "Love, Actuary", using essentially the Doug Eiffel voice, playing a character who I can describe only as an extremely flirtatious, high-power accountant who drinks too much God Bless The USA juice. The whiplash. I'm on episode 38 of a Wolf 359 relisten. This is amazing. I love audio drama so much.

Just watched âReturn Of Callistoâ, âWarriorâŠPrincessâŠTrampâ and âIntimate Strangerâ in one sittingâŠ
Jesus what a whiplash. I always praise this show for the way it handles it episodic structure. But I have to admit that TV shows with more of the serialized storytelling handle the continuity with a characterâs thoughts and emotions much better than TV shows that are more non-serialized. Itâs like Gabrielle goes from full out guilt and anger and thrashing out at the loss of her husband, to absolutely not bothered at all, and then back to the mindset of feeling guilty again based on whether the episode is a drama or a comedy.
Itâs like youâre just supposed to completely forget about what happened the episode before in the comedy episode because itâs a comedy episode then 360 reverse because weâre back to a full-out drama.
This kind of back and forth comedy-to-drama structure in Season 3 is intentional and works well but here⊠not so much. And itâs like the âwhooshâ sounds off loudly in my brain every time we spend any significant time with Gabrielle and a narrative that should be on-going and I donât even feel the impact.
Iâm not sure I explained any of that wellâŠ
But at least I know what I mean by it. đ€Ł
But guys⊠Just be aware of that if youâre going to binge watch Xena in one sitting because itâs a lot to take in at once and they make you wait to process it.
Itâs like âIs this character okay? I donât think sheâs okay⊠but weâre in a comedy so I guess we ignore it?â
But then youâre back to a drama and they just go full on with the emotions... Like I said. Itâs a whiplash.
You just donât know what youâre supposed to feel because obviously - in real life - that would continue.
The order of the episodes donât really help very well.
But then not a lot of TV shows do both drama and comedy. Especially not if theyâre the fantasy genre.
But be aware of that. It just hits you out of nowhere when youâre just trying to follow with the narrative.
Something significantly dramatic and traumatic just happened to Gabrielle but youâre supposed to forget that fact until the show is ready to address it again. And then you do,⊠so youâre not expecting to be hit with a barrage of that characterâs emotional turmoil because you forgot all about it the episode before it.
Tell me that whoosh effect doesnât go off in your brain because you will not be prepared for engaging with it.
Thatâs the bizarre experience in watching a TV show thatâs primarily episodic and does comedy and drama. Where they place the episodes in air order makes a hell of difference to how you engage with the show.
Season 3 doesnât do this because they keep all the drama episodes together and all the comedy episodes together and they donât do a swap in swap out thing.
But Season 2 (especially this block of episodes) it doesnât work like that and you just get whiplashed.
Iâm an emotional human being. Please have mercy. đ

Bo and I stared at one another. Her jaw was clenched, and I could feel how tense my eyebrows were. We had been in this room for over an hour already and her stupid training was going nowhere. I did not want to learn how to talk to my husband properly. He enjoyed how I was already.
âWhy are you making this so difficult?â She spat.
âBecause I can,â I taunted.Â
Her mouth twitched and I waited for her to finally snap. I would like a good fight to get all of my pent up frustration out. Instead, she took another deep breath and told me to point out the proper soup spoon.Â
âThis is the dumbest thing I have ever done in my life,â I mumbled and pointed at the smallest one in the set.
âAnd youâre the dumbest thing thatâs come into mine,â She bit back.
âThis is really unnecessary, Bo,â Sol sighed from beside me. âY/N has better things to do than sit here and look at silverware. None of us even use these anymore.â
I looked at her and hoped she could see how grateful I was she was sitting here with me. When Bo showed up at Jiminâs house this morning, the Luna had followed behind her every step of the way hoping we could put the traditional nonsense behind us. I did not see the point in following their customs more than I already did and Sol herself said no one really cares about certain formalities anymore. Jimin seemed sad to watch me go but more pleased than he let on. Sol said these preparations were meant for our wedding and it made him happy to think about. That was the only reason I was still sitting here.
âIâm sure Oxur Park knows how much Alpha Park loves a woman with knowledge,â The wolf gave me a satisfied smirk. âUnless youâve decided to take that from him, too.â
Bo had made it her mission to get me out of their palace. Believing I had somehow tricked Jimin into loving me, the wolf had no issue calling our bond into question. Apparently, her outdated beliefs ran much deeper than I had originally thought. Either way, she was beginning to make my life all the more difficult. I had enough going on as it was.
âYou are the most infuriating woman I have ever had the displeasure of meeting.â
âAnd you are the sneakiest little weasel I have ever laid eyes on,â Bo hissed.
âYouâre both acting like children,â Sol laughed. âBo, canât we go now? I promised my husband alone time with his friend.â
With a satisfied smirk, I leaned back in my chair. Bo was not happy with the girl, but Taehyungâs wishes overruled her own. The perks of being the pack alpha, I guess. I did not wait for Boâs response before standing up. Sol followed me.
âI expect you in your own room tonight, child.â
I did not respond. Sol giggled and grabbed hold of my arm as we left the palace library. If I had come here on my own, I might have admired the massive shelves and the beautiful wood they were made from, but Boâs presence ruined whatever joy I might have gotten. She was such a pain to deal with. Knowing my foul mood, Sol began babbling about her and Taehyungâs wedding for the third time today.
âOh, I wish you could have been there,â She pouted. âTaehyung wanted to wait for you to wake up, but all of us decided it would be in his best interest to hurry along. I hope youâre not upset with us.â
That worked and I cracked a smile.
âHow many times do I have to tell you? Iâm not upset about it.â
Leaning into my side, the younger girl sighed happily. She always got like this when she spoke of Taehyung. He was akin to God in her eyes now and it was a funny sight to see. She was always so stuck up and stressed when I had known her that this new version of her was strange to see. She laughed and joked with others in a way I had never seen before. Taehyung was the perfect match for the Luna, and I was pleased with how happy they both were despite everything going on.
âYouâll have to forgive Ha-Joon,â Sol waved at a small group of maids. âSheâs just always pictured her daughter with Jimin, and her death has brought out the worst in her. Donât take it too personally, okay?â
âEasy for you to say,â I murmured, âShe doesnât hate you.â
The group of maids stopped to bow. I returned the gesture, but Sol did not. She was never raised to respect her help. Tossing a small smile at the women, my eyes caught a familiar face and warmed. Koda grinned happily back at me.
âOh!â Sol exclaimed suddenly. âIsnât this the most coincidental situation?â
Stepping away from my side, the wolf gestured to the group. None of them make eye contact with the Luna. None of them even looked at her face. I could not understand how no one thought this was strange behavior, but it was the status quo. Hopefully I could speak with Taehyung about it. I do not think he would approve of this behavior at all.
âI was speaking with Elder Kim, and we decided that you need a servant,â Sol announced. âThis group should do. See anyone you like in particular?â
She was completely serious. Not a shred of doubt or shame was written on her face. Sol was raised with this nonchalant way of ordering others around and it was disturbing to see in action. I would definitely speak to Taehyung. However, I could not deny the perks I saw. Looking at Koda, I knew I would be able to keep her safe as long as I kept her by my side. Giving the women a sympathetic look, I turned to Sol with a mask of indifference.
âIf you think itâs necessary,â She smiled brightly. âKoda,â I looked at the older woman, âwould you like to help me while I stay here?â
The woman walked to the front of the group. The other maids made space and suddenly none of them looked at me either. It was a horrible feeling and I wondered what they thought of me now. Wanting to make my intentions clear, I kept talking.
âAlso, Sol,â I looked at my friend, âI donât like the word 'servant'.â Can we use something less⊠harsh? Like âcompanion?â I donât plan on staying here for very long so it just seems too,â I moved my hands and tried to find the softest explanation I could think of, âpermanent.â
I was choosing my words carefully. Sol has never had her views challenged much and these women had been at her beck and call her entire life, so it was only natural she thought of them a particular way. I wanted to change her mind, but it would have to start with something small. The other maids seemed to relax, and their eyes wandered freely once more. I never wanted them to feel inferior to me.
âHmm,â She cupped her chin, âIâve never thought of that before. I like it.â
Turning her gaze to Koda, she grinned, âYou will spend every moment at Oxur Parkâs side. Under no circumstances will you leave her, understand?â
âYes, Luna,â She bowed deeply. âWill I sleep in her chambers?â
âNo!â I exclaimed. Flushing, I rubbed the back of my neck and bowed my head. âThat wonât be necessary. I will be with Alpha Park during the night.â
Sol laughed heartily, âYouâre just breaking all of the rules, arenât you?â
I awkwardly joined her, âMight as well give her a reason for her dislike, donât you think?â
Sol immediately dismissed the maids, Koda included, so we could continue our walk. Koda would be joining me tonight for my bath. I cringed at the thought and started to think of ways to talk to her about what I was expecting, or rather, not expecting her to do. I could do everything I needed on my own and had for many years of my life. I saw no need for someone else to bathe, dress, or tuck me in at night. Jimin would be the exception, but he was my partner and had seen me more intimately than others.
Sol continued to talk my ears off as we walked through the palace. I was still unnerved by how easily she commanded her maids. It was creepy. I could not picture Taehyung feeling comfortable by their pampering either, but would he ever say something that would offend his wife? It was difficult to say.Â
I knew the other alphas had lived in the palace at points in their lives, and from what I had heard, Namjoon was still here full time. Unmated alphas were meant to stay in the palace until they were mated so they could be trained into leaders. Scowling, I thought of Ahn and his thick, white beard and how little help he was to everyone. No one ever spoke of him or his teachings, and Sol did not even seem bothered by her father-figureâs death. It gave me a sick sort of pleasure knowing that no one, possibly not even Bo, thought of him in a good light.
The repairs to the palace were the first to be completed. The elves had focused primarily on the civilian areas, and since the palace was the only place made of stone, the flames that ate away at the wooden homes in the main parts of the village. We had been seeing a great deal of progress in only four days, but there was still much to do. The townâs market was nowhere in sight, and they had only just gotten their water system back up.
âWhat does Taehyung want to talk about?â I asked.Â
Sol had started a childhood story involving Ahn that I had no desire to hear.
âIâm not sure exactly,â She admitted, âHe said he was hoping you two could go for a walk and catch up. Itâs been a while since youâve been alone.â
I nodded and pretended to listen as she jumped into another childhood story. Sol was a rather clumsy child. Looking at the dark stone, I felt my resentment growing. No one except for Taehyung had left to help the others. Not Kim nor Bo left their comfortable confines to help their community and yet they had time to talk about my manners and which servant I would get? It all seemed ridiculous to me. Even Sol herself was still living in la-la-land within these walls. Had she even seen what was done?
âYou must promise to be our first childâs matrina,â Sol was talking about children. Again. Her unusual sense of pessimism was beginning to agitate me. âYou are the only person I can think of I would trust with that honor.Â
âOf course, Jungkook will have to be the patrinus, but I donât think it will bother Jimin too much. Heâs far too much like a brother to ask anybody else. Maybe for our second child? Taehyung would be overjoyed if you were both involved.â
I gritted my teeth and simply nodded along with her stories. Yes, a conversation with Taehyung was a must. Maybe he could make her see reason, or at least show concern for everyone else. At meetings she lounged on him like a cat and never paid attention when they spoke about serious matters. It was like her head was permanently up in the clouds. Had she always been so careless when it came down to things, or was this a new development since she joined Taehyung? I would never know the true extent of the answer, but I had to believe this was new. Sol was too serious before to let this kind of behavior out.
The large, cathedral windows let in the bright sun, but it was still so cold and dark in here. The maids had yet to fix the lighting fixtures inside yet, but even the candles they had lit did nothing to help. Our steps had a faint echo to them, and it made the lifelessness of the palace worse. I felt Solâs hair brushing against my arm as she made herself comfortable at my side and had to stop myself from moving it out of my way. It was tickling my skin uncomfortably.
Sol let her hair out in the palace unlike any place else. The long, thick, black waves cascading down her back effortlessly, but I knew better now. Someone had spent a great deal of time and care perfecting the way it felt and twisted. Around her neck was the material she used to cover her hair and she would put it on if another man showed up here. It was something Ahn had made her do that made no sense to me either, but Sol was happy about it, so I never thought about it much.
âKoda is a wonderful woman,â Sol suddenly gushed, catching my attention. âYouâll like her very, very much.â
âWhat makes you say that?â I questioned, feigning disinterest.
âWell,â She started, âShe was once a warrior before her sister died. She stopped shifting soon after that and moved into the palace so she could have a place to stay. Her sisterâs husband kept their house and Koda was too uncomfortable to live there with him alone.
âOh! I know sheâs from out of town, so you can share many stories about that as well. The people from Viridi Gramine always have the most interesting lives. Take Hyuna for example, sheâs the princess of her people and yet gave it all up for a life here with Hoseok. Isnât it romantic?â
I stopped listening to her once again. It was useful information, and my interest only grew for the older woman. If she was from the Foxgloveâs cousin pack that meant she would know a route through the Ozryn mountains. Hiding my revelation, I subtly picked up my pace. The sooner I got this meeting over with, the sooner I could find Cadoc.Â
âShe will be a wonderful companion for you to have,â Sol teased, placing extra emphasis on the chosen word. âI think Iâll start using that one as well. Servant does sound too harsh.â
I smirked in amusement. It was difficult to dislike Sol, especially when it seemed like she was having the most fun she had ever had. I imagined living with someone like Ahn was challenging. Still, her innocence and naivety were so odd when compared to her position in the pack. She was treated like glass that could shatter at any moment while held up as if she were a queen.
We descended down the large staircase in a companionable silence. That was rare for Sol, but I was sure as soon as our feet touched the first floor, she would start her rambling once more. It seemed like luck was on my side, however. Taehyung stood waiting for us, his eyes never leaving Solâs little body. His happiness was enough to let go of my discomfort for Sol. She would learn in time, and Taehyung would be there to guide her. I would just steer him in the right direction.Â
The clothes he wore were much nicer than anything I had ever owned. Navy blue silk contrasted beautifully with his tanned skin while the nearly black pants he wore extended his legs. He wore a pair of simple black boots and a matching belt. It was nice to see him so clean and dressed up. Soon we would not have those luxuries.
âThanks for bringing her, mi conjunx.â
Sol bit her lip and looked down, âOf course, mi coniunx.â
âBridd,â Taehyung smiled at me, breaking whatever spell he had been under, âMay I take you for a small walk alone? I have something I need to discuss with you.â
âThatâs why Iâm here,â I squeezed Solâs shoulder and walked down the last few stairs that separated us.Â
It looked like Taehyung was physically pained to leave Solâs side, but he showed as much restraint as possible. I heard her feet pitter-pattering back up the steps and Taehyungâs shoulders relaxed. They had spoken and it was still a mystery to me how it worked. I would have to ask Jimin about it later.
We stayed silent until we were out of the palace and walking out of Foxglove entirely. He wanted privacy today, so I waited until he was ready to speak to begin my questioning.
âHow are you holding up?â Taehyung asked once we were well hidden within the trees.
I sighed. Cordeliaâs passing had affected all of us, and Taehyung was beside himself with grief. He had hardly known her, but he was fond of everyone he met at my cottage. I confided in him about finding her body this morning. He stole me away for a few moments to ask my advice on his plans to invite the witches to stay in the palace, and the sea witch was brought up in conversation. I could tell he would make it a point to ask me about my emotional state whenever he got me alone.
âThe etiquette classes have me thoroughly distracted,â I replied sadly.Â
âAnd everyone else?â
âAbout as well as I am,â I muttered. âWendy is in bad shape, but Seokjin is holding her close. I think theyâre back in their confusing situationship again, which saddens me, but I understand. I can only hope it will be different this time.â
In truth, I had little hope. While Wendy may have decided she would choose Seokjin over Yoongi, I was also sure this budding relationship would fizzle out rather quickly. Wendy was once again latching onto the sun witch in a desperate attempt to make herself feel better, and like always, Seokjin would walk through fire to make her smile. I paid close attention to their dynamics, and it was reminiscent of old times. It was not lost on me, her lingering stare at Yoongiâs disabled figure laying on the floor near the fireplace during my short visit yesterday, and it made the pit in my stomach only grow.
Old habits die hard, and Wendy Byrd was too much of a daydreamer to put anything to rest. It made me uncomfortable to witness the same cycle play out once more. It sickened me to know the only reason she was not seeking out Yoongi was the fact that he was getting used to his new reality. One where he could no longer see. Seokjin was as hopelessly hopeful as always and put up those blinders once more. Life in pink so long as Wendy held him close. The front he had put up in my cottage so long ago was forgotten.
âThey need to figure it out by themselves,â Taehyung replied. He was always telling me things I knew but I appreciated the sentiment. âI am curious about this sudden need to leave Bangtan.â
As always, Taehyung knew more than he led on. I did not know how he knew of my plans before I spoke to anybody else about them, but I was less surprised than I should have been. Cadoc and I had been completely alone in the forest that night, but if Taehyung was awake when we got back to the palace, he could have easily gotten an earful of whatever we were speaking about. I had learned during our time at my cottage that Taehyungâs sense of hearing was stronger than the otherâs while Jiminâs smell and eyesight were almost double of what they should be.
âI should be far more surprised than I am,â I admitted. âYouâre always such a nosey little minx, arenât you?â
Taehyung chuckled with a nod. Nothing got past those eyes. I pondered over what to say to him. He always had a way of taking me by surprise and I knew Cadoc would not be upset with my slip of the tongue. No one would, actually. Looking at my friend, I reminded myself that he was my friend before he was the Alpha everyone else needed him to be. A man who loved to read my mythology books and ask questions about the forest creatures would never dare ask me to stay behind when there were adventures to be seen. I was also aware that he would be afraid of my loyalty.Â
Cadoc had said I was becoming blinded by it. Loyal to a fault. Jimin and I were still at odds about my trip, but he had become resigned. We both needed for this to happen. For the sake of our friends and family I needed to try. I had failed once already, and I could not fail again.
âAre you going to talk to me about your secrets now?â
âIâm not staying in Bangtan for much longer,â I whispered, knowing he would be able to hear me just fine. âI have a different task. Something important.â
âI had guessed as much,â He laughed, an easy smile on his face. âJimin is far too distracted, and the Quietus keep whispering to each other,â He stopped walking and turned towards me. âSo, Bridd, where are you going?â
Biting my lip, I hesitated. How angry would he be if I told the truth? Angry was a strong word, I conceded. Taehyung was never angry, but I did not think he would be pleased. I was blatantly placing my own life in danger and lying to my mate about it. It was almost enough to make me rethink my choices.
âI need to find someone,â I said, bracing myself for the disappointment that was sure to make itself known soon. âWhen I died, I saw my aunt in the spirit realm, and she told me that I had to seek out an elemental called Naida.â
Taehyung frowned at me, his concern evident, but not so much so. He was not disappointed, but I could see fear. I could live with that. I was also afraid for my own life, but dwelling on those thoughts would get me nowhere. I had a mission to complete, and I would not be late this time. I would win. I had to. For my own sanity I would go.
âIs Jimin aware of this?â
I shook my head, âNothing specific. He knows my plan to leave, but with everything so fresh and new I donât want to worry him needlessly.â
âYou are planning on telling him,â He pushed, âRight?â
I nodded, âThe plan is to leave at sunset tomorrow. Iâll have more coverage at night just in case there are elf camps in the forest.â
I thought about the elf camp Jimin stalked that first night and shuttered. There were so many of them out there who had not come into the village. It was baffling to me why they would hesitate in their fighting only to move on so quickly. It gave the wolves too much time to plan and strategize and I knew they were not foolish enough to think they had better odds now. The wolves were on guard. The only thing that made sense were allies hiding in our ranks. Allies who were telling them our every move.
âTell me something,â I dropped my voice even lower. âIf I promise you that I will come back with help, will you keep the truth from the others?â
Stopping in his tracks, Taehyung stared at me. Jimin said the two of them had been speaking of a possible traitor and I would hope my friend would understand my perspective. My loyalty to the both of them was all consuming, my love was my life, and I would do whatever it takes to help them. Even if it meant lying to the man I loved more than life itself.
âI canât keep something like this from him, Y/N,â Taehyung sighed. âYou are my friend, but so is Jimin, and you cannot ask me to pick one over the other.â
âEven with the spy?â I challenged.
He looked through me then, his eyes burning a hole into my face searching for something. I donât think I would ever know what Taehyung saw in me that day, but whatever it was it gave him pause. I had never felt just how strong or large Taehyung was until that moment. His frame towered over mine, his legs long and lanky, and his face impassive. That impenetrable wall that I found so disconcerting.
âEven then,â He smiled at me. âI would never risk your life or Jiminâs friendship. Even if you begged me to keep quiet, I would let him know the moment you were out of my sight.â
And I could not stop my returning grin. This was what I loved most about the boy, his endless love and compassion for others. He played tricks, told jokes, and made my head hurt from his never ending questions, but he also adored me in ways I had never been before. He adored my brain, my thoughts, and my courage.Â
A memory of us in the cottage came back to me then. The sun had just come up and I had just gotten home. My training with Thelma had been brutal that night and I had hardly done anything, and my emotions were growing, expanding, and becoming harder to manage. Jimin was still asleep, his pale skin beautiful in the sun, and I did not want to disturb his peace.
When I went to the kitchen to make myself a cup of tea, I found Taehyung already up and a book in his lap. We had our typical small talk, a morning just like any other, but once I sat down at the dining table, I found him just watching me. The book was long gone, his face hard, and his eyes observing me. Those eyes that took in everything they possibly could. I wondered then if he knew what I was doing, where I was going, and why. Instead of answering those questions, Taehyung pushed his growing hair out of his eyes and beamed at me.
âI donât think Iâve ever told you how thankful I am that youâre letting me stay here,â He said.
Tired and worn, I brushed him off like I always had. I was never the one for compliments and did not know what to say, especially with my guilt eating me alive. Taehyung ignored whatever poor attempts I had made to make him stop talking.
âThank you,â He bowed his head. âI will never forget your kindness or strength. Hell, even your anger! Youâre the first person Iâd ever seen make Namjoon lose his cool.â
I ignored him and sipped on my tea. I donât even think I looked at him again. I drank my tea, listened, and hoped Jimin would not wake up. I wanted to sleep in his arms for a while. It made the nightmares more bearable.
âI know you donât really like this kind of thing,â Taehyung continued to babble. âI know youâre uncomfortable because of the way your hands tremble and your breathing changes. Iâm sorry you donât feel like you deserve my praise, but I want to give it to you anyway.â
âWhy?â I rasped, looking out of the large window beside me.
It was the same window a white wolf had come to and asked for help.
âBecause youâre hurting right now, and I want you to know itâll be okay. No matter what happens you will always be my friend, and Jimin will always love you.â
Looking around me now, it was difficult to imagine a more beautiful sight. It had been so long since I last saw the trees in the sun, and it took my breath away. The heat and warmth were never far away but still felt foreign on my skin. It was still as quiet as a mouse out here, but I basked in its beauty regardless. Taehyungâs teeth were blinding, and I needed to squint.
âWeâll always be friends, right?â I asked.
He held up a pinky, âAlways.â
I wrapped my finger around his and sighed.
Diving into the story once again, I told Taehyung why I had been distraught during those last few weeks. His reaction, much like the rest of him, was completely different from both Cadoc and Jiminâs. Even the witches had nothing on Taehyung, because as soon as I was finished, Taehyung hugged me and told me he loved me.
âWhat?â I choked.
âYou were so afraid,â He patted the top of my head and pulled away. âYou worked so hard for my family and friends. Thank you.â
âBut-but,â I spluttered, âI messed up. I didnât say anything. I got all of those poor people killed. My own friend-â
âBut you tried so hard,â Taehyung soothed. âYou wore yourself out learning those spells, you spent every single night trying to get better, and kept it all bottled up. How could I be mad at you for that?â
âBecause I let you down,â I muttered. âI let everyone down.â
âNo, you didnât,â He chuckled. âWhen it counted you were there. You killed yourself, quite literally, mind you, for all of us without knowing it would work. You fought by our sides and gave up a life in the spirit world. You gave up your best friend.â
Bringing Shiloh up tugged on my heart strings. I missed her so much. I knew I would see her again someday, but I hoped she got her wish in the end. She deserved to be beautiful and dance in the sunlight like she always wanted. Sword fights and cooking were two things she dreamed of, and I knew she would be amazing at both if given the chance. I could only hope her hair would be as brightly colored as she imagined even when her human mind forgot all about our adventures. She would even forget about me.Â
âAnd after it all youâre still you.â
Looking up at Taehyung, another facet of his personality made itself known to me. On top of his naive, golden-hearted mischief, Taehyung was also a wiseman. Aldara had spoken of his grandmother before, and I could see that that trait was passed onto her eldest grandchild.Â
âBut I still did a bad thing,â I whispered, my voice thick. âAnd I want to make sure I do everything I can possibly do to make this easier on us. I need all of you to live, Tae. I couldnât bare it if anyone else died.â
âAnd we need you to live, too, Bridd,â He replied gently.
I said nothing. I knew that was the truth, but we obviously had different ideas about what was important. My own life meant very little to me after the fight with the elf. Hell, my life had meant little to me the night I found the cottage on fire, but I understood where Taehyung was coming from. I was his friend and he wanted to make sure I was alright. Thinking of Jimin, I knew my life meant even more to him. Still, I held onto my own ideas and that included keeping all of them as far away from harmâs way as possible.
He smiled sadly, âWho are you bringing?â
I sighed, âI havenât made a decision yet. I donât want to place anybody at risk or leave you unprotected in case I donât make it back in time,â I did not voice my concerns for not returning at all. âCadoc thinks Samanya should be with me, but sheâs so fierce Iâd rather be here to watch over Jimin.â
âKoda is a wonderful option,â Taehyung suggested after a beat. âShe was a warrior in Viridi Gramine and served with the copiae for many years. She would be helpful for getting you to Ozryn and the Quietus would be extra security.â
I could not say the plan was bad, it was far too good, but that was the problem. Koda was an older woman now who could no longer change as far as I knew. She would be slow, and I would have to work twice as hard keeping her out of harm's way. I would have better luck going alone with Sam and finding our own way.Â
âThen again,â The alpha sucked his teeth, âKoda is rather old. Perhaps Jungkook? No, heâs a boy and too childish.â
The âprinceâ as Ahn dubbed him was always ready for a fight and light on his feet. He reminded me of Taehyung and Hoseok wrapped up into one young man, but I had my doubts on his ability to follow instructions. Anytime I had seen Jungkook he was either in trouble or on his way into it. So, for my own sanity in the coming weeks, I would agree with Taehyung.
âWhat about Hoseok?â Taehyung snapped his fingers. âOh! He would be a perfect choice.â
I nodded along with him knowing I would never ask the alpha to come with me. He and Hyuna were a package deal and that was too many to take along. If I was taking Samanya then I would only bring one other, and I doubted his mate would allow him to go regardless. He almost died a few days ago and was still on bed rest at their home.Â
âItâs too bad heâs resting,â I threw out knowing it would rule him out entirely. âI should just take Samanya and the two of us can figure it out together.â
âThereâs always Namjoon.â
I shook my head vigorously.
âAbsolutely not.â
I had made peace with the wolf during the fight, and I was certain our fight in my meadow was long forgotten. It did not mean I wanted to shack up with the alpha. He had proven to me his fickle nature and inability to make a decision on his own. He would be easily swayed, and I did not respect him for it. The thought of traveling with him made my head hurt.
âSo stubborn,â Taehyung teased. âFine. Iâll leave it alone.â
âThank you.â
âNow,â He grinned, âCare to go gather some of those books I like so much? I think theyâll be a nice way to decompress during the night.â
Walking through the streets, I was pleased by the progress everyone had made rebuilding. The market was still destroyed, but so many homes and businesses on the southside were almost completely finished. The north, were the copiae lived, would be the last place rebuilt. Elder Kim had said the children needed a place to go and the few homes that stood were not enough to house them all. Bo, in her typical fashion, was upset by this but held her tongue.Â
She never wanted to disrespect a man. The thought made me roll my eyes.
Spotting Namjoon, I was pleased to see him and Taehyung working together. The younger alphaâs family home had been destroyed, all of them having to stay in the palaceâs already crowded towers, but his mother was going stir crazy. Catching my gaze, Namjoon offered me a small, hesitant wave. I responded with a polite smile and continued walking. Taehyung was none the wiser.Â
I was greeted many times, all of them kind, and I tried to stop and help however I could. My magic was still weaker than I would like, and I had not had any time to flex my abilities since the attack. Today, I was hoping to change that.Â
âWould you like for me to help you with that?â I asked an elderly couple struggling to lift leftover roof tiles from their recent repairs.
âThat would be lovely, Oxur Park,â The man replied, his voice gruff. âJust put them in that wheelbarrow. Weâre giving the rest to Alpha Taehyungâs family.â
Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and attempted to focus. I was lucky the pieces were in a fairly neat pile and would be simple to move so long as I concentrated. A bead of sweat formed on my eyebrow. Lifting my hands, I mumbled under my breath.
âFlotian,â Cracking an eye open, the pile lifted effortlessly.
As quickly as possible, I brought the tiles to the wheelbarrow. Panting now, I knew I needed to flex my muscles a bit more. I was out of shape, and it was showing. With a loud clang, the tiles were ready to be pushed to Taehyungâs.
âNeed a hand?â
Dropping my stance, I wiped my forehead and looked at Namjoon. He looked as weary as he had a few moments before, but this time I gave him a real smile. He returned it awkwardly. Whatever had happened during the battle had worn off, his confidence in helping me was replaced by the tongue-twisted man who had stood in my living room begging for forgiveness. Like so many, I owed him an apology as well. Gesturing at the wheelbarrow, I nodded.Â
âThank you,â The old woman gushed. âGod bless you both!â
Embarrassed, I ducked my head and bowed to the couple. Getting busy with the task, I pointed out a few loose pieces that would not fit in the wheelbarrow. Namjoon gathered them and handed them to my outstretched hands. Taking hold of the heavy, blue metal, the alpha began pushing. I used magic and the leftover tiles floated, following us back down the road.
âTaehyung tells me you are traveling to Viridi Gramine soon.â
I was not expecting small talk, but I was even more taken aback by the lie. The boy was quicker than I thought. The fib would make my disappearance easier to swallow without leading the spies on my trail. It did, however, pose an issue for their neighbors. If the elves believed the wolves to be ready for an attack out East, they may choose to invade sooner.
âYes,â I lied easily, the word falling off my tongue with such conviction I was almost convinced myself. âI leave in a few days.â
âWould you like an extra set of hands?â He asked. âI know you and I have been on differing sides as of late, but I would like for that to change. I do respect you immensely.â
I smiled sadly. After speaking so ill of the man earlier today he was ready to drop everything to help me. Even if it was to make amends, I acknowledged how unpleasant being away would be. If I were less prideful, I may have accepted his proposal. As it stands, my pride was the only thing I still had to hold on.
âI owe you an apology,â I replied. âI was not fair to you. I let my anger blind me. It seems thatâs all Iâm good for these days.â
I thought of Jimin and his gentle caresses. I did not deserve his kindness. With the rumors spreading he was bound to hear of Taehyungâs lie. He would have a few choice words for me, that I was sure, but I knew we would work through it if I was given a chance to explain myself. He trusted me enough to allow me that. At least, I hoped he did.
âRegardless,â I sighed, âIâm sorry. I was out of line. I hope you can forgive me.â
âI have never been known to hold grudges for very long,â The man replied.Â
âStill, I will have to decline the offer,â I threw the tiles on the ground. We were at the edge of Taehyungâs property and the young alpha was hard at work. With barely more than a small wave, Taehyung greeted us. Sparing Namjoon a tight-lipped smile, I continued. âI want as many people in Bangtan as possible. Iâm traveling with a small group of quietus.â
Namjoon nodded, his long hair falling out of its loose ponytail.Â
âWell, if you change your mind, you know where to find me.â
âIâm sure I wonât.â
With that, I bid both alphas goodbye and turned back around.Â
Standing in front of Jiminâs home was a short, pear-shaped woman. Her salt and pepper hair falling messily around her shoulders, thick bangs boxing in her already squared face. Tanned and beginning to show signs of her aging, her eyes crinkled happily at their corners as I approached. Her dress was tighter than it should have been, almost indecent in comparison to the other women around, but her large hips made it difficult to sew around. Her body would be considered provocative by the men, but the sight of it only made me feel inferior.Â
I had not realized Jiminâs mother was so beautiful.
âY/N,â She greeted me happily, her voice soft and sugary sweet.
I bowed, covering my chest with a hand, and closed my eyes. I needed only a second to regroup myself. I had not been prepared to meet my fianceâs mother today. Especially without him by my side. Mi-Jeong radiated positive energy and her smile was infectious. I hoped I looked as happy as she did, but I only felt myself growing more overwhelmed.
âGood afternoon, Mrs.Park,â I winced at how breathless I sounded. I cleared my throat. âHow are you?â
âIâm well,â She winked. I did not know why. âYouâre just in time for lunch.â
Ushering me inside, I was relieved to hear Jinâs loud voice booming over all of the others. Yoongi was no longer on the living room floor, and Wendyâs gentle laugh mixed with the others. Elated, I quickly took off my shoes and made my way into the kitchen. Mi-Jeong followed behind me, her little feet pitter-pattering against the wooden floors.
The little house was in perfect condition and the smell of fresh paint hung in the air. Spotting Callisto and Hyun-Jin, I smiled at the paint staining their clothes. At least we were all trying to make the most of our horrible situation. Enver was the first to spot me and a huge, face-splitting smile broke out across his little face.
âBridd!â He cried; his excitement palpable.Â
A streak of baby blue paint stuck to his cheek, but I did not care. The boy ran to give me a hug and I felt the wet paint soak through my dress. Greeted with loud, obnoxious cheers, I waved the others off and let go of my young friend. Yoongi looked around and I was sad to see he was still disabled. I had a feeling that would be a part of his life now. I hoped it would one day fade, but I was not sure the magic elves used to cause such damage.
âYou have to try this,â Wendy moaned, pushing a large plate of noodles my way.Â
The noodles were thick and covered in a thick, chunky, black sauce. They smelled heavenly. Wendy passed over her pair of chopsticks and gestured at the plate once more. Her mouth was still filled. Picking up a large mouthful, I slurped.
They were delicious. So savory and salty it made my eyes close in content. The noise of content I made was involuntary and I quickly went in for another bite. The plate was pulled away from me and I scowled. Yoona raised an eyebrow at me.
âIs there meat in this?â I asked.
âPork,â Callisto replied, chewing on a large plate of vegetable noodles.
My stomach turned uncomfortably, and I was suddenly less enthusiastic. They were so delicious; I was almost angry about the porkâs presence. Still, I watched Yoongi bite down on a piece of fried fish and felt less guilty. These were trying times and beggars could not be chooser. I grabbed the bowl back, took another large bite, before Yoona pulled back her way.
âThereâs plenty of food. You donât get to hog all of the Jajangmyeon.â
Someone tapped my shoulder. Mi-Jeong smiled at me, and it reminded me so much of Jiminâs I paused. Holding up a pair of clean chopsticks, she chuckled. I handed Wendy back the borrowed sticks and took my own. Seemingly satisfied, the little woman elbowed her way into the circle and began to grab the dishes she wanted for herself.
The dining table was far too big for all of us to sit at and it seemed everyone chose to stand. Yoongi and Tae-Jin, who had been discharged from the infirmary this morning, were the only two who sat. Mi-Jeong moved Enver out of her way and sat. I could see Wendy placing food on Yoongiâs plate and frowned.
I would have a talk with her about that at some point. I did not have the time or patience to deal with any of that right now. Jin noticed where I was looking and turned. With a deep sigh, he shook his head, but ignored it. It was probably for the best. A coupleâs quarrel would cause a huge uproar within the families.Â
âGood to see you walking around, Mr.Kim,â I greeted Jinâs father.
âNice to see you, too, kid.â
Passing around bowls and plates, I listened to the conversations around me. Jin and Wendy helped Jiminâs family with the construction repairs, and Mi-Jeong let Enver pick out the new colors for the walls. She had taken a very big liking to the boy. Thelma and the other women were taking a break from helping a family a few houses down but were planning on getting back to work as soon as they were finished eating.
âI was able to get Mannix this morning,â Jin threw my way. âPoor boy was shaking and so scared. He fell asleep in Callistoâs bed.â
I frowned. August, Yoongiâs cat, rubbed against my legs and I guessed he had gone for both of them. Hopefully the two of them will feel better soon. They had been left alone for quite a while. Wendy started talking about the witches from Syrena. Apparently, her coven was planning on coming out to the village to help. That brightened my mood. At least, in my absence, others will be around to help.
Callisto and Mi-Jeong soon left the room taking Thelma and Tae-Jin in tow. They were going to figure out a way to fix some of the loose floorboards in my future sister-in-lawâs room. The circle around the table started to dissipate leaving only Yoongi, Jin, Wendy, and Ji-Hyun behind. The three of my friends were all jokingly loudly with one another as I took Mi-Jeongâs seat.
âSo, Viridi Gramine?â Ji-Hyunâs eyes were telling, and I knew from the arch of his brow he did not believe Taehyung for a second. âAre you sure you can trust a Quietus to take care of you?â
The wolf was relaxed, his face and body language giving nothing away. Crouched beside my chair we would look like we were having a normal conversation, but he could not keep the malice out of his tone. Sinking into the chair, I turned my body towards his and hoped I could remain neutral. I did not want to fight with Jiminâs brother, but I refused to be intimidated.
I cleared my throat, âIâm sure we will be just fine.â
I did not have the heart to tell him I had yet to make any real decisions. That this entire trip was going to be a convoluted road of impulsive decisions. That I was going to be in more danger than anyone else could ever know. Ji-Hyunâs icy glare told me I did not need to say a word. He already knew what I was doing. His eyes were far more unnerving than Taehyungâs.
âWell,â He spoke softly, careful to keep the others from overhearing, âWe can all hope you change your mind. Seeing you hurt would be heartbreaking for my brother. He barely survived it the last time.â
I had to commend the boy; he was very good at laying on the guilt. A thick cloud of shame wrapped itself around my body and it took effort to keep my expression neutral. Again, as it had been for days now, my anger bubbled to the surface. I could not remember being this angry in many, many years. I thought back to Namjoon and the incident in my front yard and looked away.Â
I was lying to myself. Lying horribly. If I said I could not remember the last time I was able to relax then that would be more truthful. Anxiety and anger were a part of who I was, but I did a wonderful job at hiding it behind snarky comments and isolation. I had never been around so many people for this long and hiding these facets of my personality were growing harder and harder. Soon it would be impossible. This trip could be a blessing in disguise. Once again, I wanted to go off on my own. I knew I was lonely- it was companionship that I was working out.
I thought of Shiloh and sighed heavily. At least she knew when to give me my space. No one else seemed to understand my needs the same way. It was to be expected. She had been with me since I was a young child and never once thought about going away. When the others moved on with their lives after Aldaraâs death, when they left me to destroy myself after I burned my bridges, there was Shiloh and her kindness. The singular light in my life for as long as I could remember- the only shine coming close being Yoongi. Now I was alone again and did not know when they would leave. This time, my closest ally was dealing with his own problems and would not have time for mine.
âIâll be back soon.â
âWeâll see.â
It clicked then. Ji-Hyun believed I was fleeing.
âYou may have everyone else fooled,â His voice was so soft, so low, I was positive we were the only two who could understand a word he said. âBut know this- if you ever hurt my brother again, I will not be so forgiving. Taehyung is a fool to let you do this. I wouldnât trust you as far as I could throw you.â
Smirking at my distress, Ji-Hyun pushed his hair out of his face.
âYouâre abandoning us,â He cocked his head to the side and gave me a scathing once over. âJimin would be a fool to think overwise. You will always be a coward. I mean, you let my friends die without blinking an eye, whatâs the rest of them?â
Disgusted, I stood and placed my chopsticks in the kitchen sink before stalking back outside. I did not need to put up with his bullshit on top of everything else I was handling. He should feel lucky I walked away. Violent images of striking the boy with fire filled my head followed by ripping his head off the way I had the elfâs.
Squeezing my eyes shut, I used all of my willpower to push my murderous thoughts to the deepest corners of my mind. Again, I was losing control. Stepping out front, I took a breath of fresh air and made every attempt to calm my racing heart. Instead of calm, however, I became even angrier. Because right in front of me was none other than Jimin, the love of my life, looking at me as if I were a perfect stranger.
âLeaving already?â He asked, eyes narrowed.
Great, just great, now he was mad at me as well. My already shaky control was spiraling. I felt my skin heating and my breathing picked back up. I was going to explode if he did not stop. I bit my lip and took a nice, deep breath. His scent did little to calm me. In fact, a small spike in anxiety only made my fists clench.Â
âIâm going for a walk,â I managed to get out, my voice far lighter than I was expecting. Jiminâs face darkened. âI didnât realize it was taboo. Is walking illegal now?â
My sarcasm was not aiding either one of us right now. Whatever the reason for his anger, I should not be egging him on. Yet, I could not stop it. Trembling, I closed the front door and took a few more steps outside. Jimin did not move. I did not want to get any closer to him.
âWhy is Taehyung lying to everyone?â He demanded, voice low and husky.
âAsk him yourself,â I snapped, already fed up with everyone and their conclusions.
âAre you lying to me?â
Scoffing, I shoved our shoulders as I passed him. He gave me a low, warning growl and turned to face me. Whatever voice that usually told me to bite my tongue was not around. It must have realized I would not listen. Looking up at him, I struggled to figure out how I really felt. Angry? Sad? Disappointed?
Looking into his eyes, I realized I was hurt. And that was a recipe for disaster. Steeling, I shook my head and looked at my feet. I had forgotten my shoes in my haste to get out of there.
âI told you we would speak, didnât I?â I challenged. âHow is that lying to you? Have you no faith in me at all?â
His pained expression told me everything that I needed to know.
âOf course,â I pulled away from him as if I had been burned. âWhy would you anyway? It is me after all.â
âAmica-â
âNo,â I threw my hands up. âIâll see you later.â
I needed time to cool off and get my head back on. We had yet to argue, and I knew I would soon devolve into insults and petty jabs. I walked away without looking back, ignoring him calling out for me. He didnât understand. They never understand.
I should have known he could never forgive me.
Koda stood beside my bedroom door, a large towel in one hand and a small pile of cloth in the other. Her thin clothes would have done little to help me in the cold hallways, but I doubted she felt the draft. She gave me a gentle smile as I approached which I returned. It seemed she would be adhering to Solâs request from this morning.
âWhat time will you be leaving tonight?â She asked, handing me the towel.
âAfter I bathe,â I replied. âI will shift and leave through the broken window downstairs.â
Koda chuckled breathily. We were both keeping our voices down. Neither one of us wanted our conversation to be overheard by prying ears. I knew Bo was listening, but her chambers were on the opposite side of the palace. Even if she tried her best, I doubted she would be able to hear us- unless she was lurking around corners. I would not put it past her.
âThatâs been repaired,â Koda sniffed the air, paused, and continued to walk. âIâve broken the latches on your bedroom window, so you should be able to leave easily tonight.â
After my bath, Koda left me to dress myself and walk back to my room. She was trying to respect my privacy as much as possible, but I knew it was difficult for her to watch me do what she perceived as her job. I would never get used to someone else washing my hair- it was strange. She did, however, put her foot down about drying my hair properly.Â
âYou will get sick, Y/N,â She scolded me gently, her fingers already in my hair.
She took great care and time drying the strands. She never pulled too hard or placed too much pressure on my scalp. After drying it completely, she ran oils and products through it that smell heavily of rose. I tried to convince her to let me go earlier, pleading that I needed to see Jimin, but she refused to budge. Koda was stubborn when she wanted to be.
By the time I left, it was long past midnight, and I was certain that Jimin would already be in bed. Before I could make it to him, Cadoc was floating beside me and told me we needed to speak. Tonight, we would talk about the trip and who I would be bringing. Tomorrow I will be leaving. It only served to make me all the more restless. Tonight, would be our last night and I wanted to get as much time in as I could. Even if it started with an argument, I was hopeful we could end it entangled in his bed.
âWhat?â I snapped, landing on the ground.
Shifting back, I stood in the destroyed market in nothing but the thin, cotton gown Koda gave me. The air was far more bothersome as a human than a bird and I rubbed my arms. Cadoc smiled apologetically and raised his arms in surrender.Â
âWe will be quick, okay?â
I grit my teeth and nod.
âHave you made a decision yet?â He asked.
âI will go with Sam,â I conceited, hoping this conversation would be over soon.
âShe will be pleased to hear that,â Cadoc grinned. âLorcan will deliver everything you need to take with you tonight. Look over it as much as you can tomorrow, and Sam will meet up with you at your cottage.â
âThank you.â
Cadoc shook his head, âNo thanks needed.â
My skin itched to walk away from him. I wanted to see Jimin, but I knew this was an important conversation. Trying my best to stay pleasant, I nodded and forced a smile on my face. From Cadocâs amused expression, I failed miserably. Bidding me a goodnight, Cadoc vanished into the wind leaving me alone once more.Â
Jimin was pacing when I walked into his small home. His hair was let loose, the silver strands frizzed and wild, but beautiful, nonetheless. Our fight this afternoon was still bothering him, and when I closed the front door, his head snapped in my direction. Worrying his bottom lip, I could see blood pooling where he had bitten off his skin. Eyes turning into slits, Jiminâs glare was murderous.
âSo, youâre planning on getting yourself killed?â
The question hung in the tense air. Whatever hopes I had for this being a good night were dashed away. Cocking his head to the side, Jimin waited for me to speak but I could not find the words to say. He knew and I was at a loss. Taehyung must have said something in the fear that I really would take the cowardly route.Â
âNothing to say?â Jimin pushed, seething. âYou had plenty to say at my motherâs. Come on then, tell me.â
I scowled. His bad attitude was understandable, but it did little to soften my increasingly hurt feelings. That anger from earlier was rearing its ugly head. I had plans to tell him tonight and I was angry at Taehyung for going behind my back. Squaring my shoulders, I sighed loudly.
âI doubt youâd listen to me anyway,â My voice was cold and hard. Far harder than I intended for it to be. âYouâve already seemed to have your mind made up about things.â
Scoffing, Jimin marched towards me with a purpose. Standing my ground, I tried my best to dispel my growing anger with little success. My newfound temperament would only make this situation worse but when our chests pressed together and Jimin looked every bit the alpha he was, I did not care. I wanted to scream and fight, bite and scratch, maybe then I could feel myself relax. Maybe all of my anger was a buildup of pressure that I desperately needed to get rid of.Â
âWhy is it that I have to hear about this plan of yours from Sol of all people?â He demanded.Â
Of course, Taehyung would have spoken to his mate about our conversation. I was foolish to believe anything between us would remain a secret. Now, Solâs face flashed through my mind and my resent bubbled over. Who the hell was she to tell Jimin anything?Â
âWhy are you taking her word over mine?â I challenged, my teeth gritted.
âStop answering my questions with questions!â Jimin shouted, walking away from me. âI believe Sol more than anybody. More than you. At least one of you has never kept anything from me.â
That was a low blow and we both knew it. Instead of remorse, the flash of guilt that came across his face soon morphed into indifference. He almost seemed proud of the insult. I refused to cry, the angry sting in my eyes only adding fuel to my already raging fire, and I swallowed thickly. Two can play this game but if he was more concerned about winning then I would gladly let him insult me alone. Taking a step back, I prepared to leave for the night.Â
âFor what itâs worth,â I looked at my feet, âI really am sorry.â
âStop apologizing to me,â Jimin snapped, his voice so harsh and critical it made me cower. âYouâve done nothing but apologize for days. What else can you do?â
I knew he was just upset and hurt by my plans, our fight only making this one that much worse. I knew he would never say something like that to me under normal circumstances. I knew he would feel awful for his choice of words once he had the chance to cool off. Yet, the hurt and anger spread through my chest and infected every part of my body. He was right, I could not offer him anything but apologies. I knew it was too good to be true. Spiraling once more, I did not realize I was crying until the tears ran down my neck and tickled me.
âDonât apologize when youâre going to keep doing this shit,â He spat, each word laced with venom. He was only a few feet away from me and I had never felt further away from him. âApologize when you decide to change. Apologize when you realize I donât need a martyr- I need someone who wonât lie and keep things from me.â
âI skewed up, alright?â I finally responded, âBut I never once lied to you.â
âYes-â
âNo,â I cut him off, my blood boiling. âI did not lie. I told you I was leaving, that it would be difficult, and I told you I would tell you when I knew more.â
âBut you were thinking of lying to me till the end!â He screamed.
âI admit that,â I shot right back, my voice growing louder. âI would do anything if it meant you were safe- even if that meant lying to you.â
âWhy?â
âBecause I love you!â
âMorologus es!â
The silence was so very loud then. Bottom lip wobbling, I took yet another step back. Whatever comeback I could have thought of fell short. Jiminâs conviction was astonishing, and his doubt felt like a punch in the gut. I needed to get out of here. I could hardly breathe, and his scent was becoming suffocating.
âStop using me as an excuse,â His onslaught continued. âJust admit you want to be the hero. You canât just be happy with me- no! You have to be the Bridd who runs, and jumps, and begs for the slightest bit of danger if it means she can be the victor! Even when it means getting an entire village killed!â
His words felt like a slap in the face. Was that the reason he thought I wanted to go? It had never even crossed my mind, but the confidence he held made me doubt myself. Wiping my face, I shouted obscenities and tried to catch my breath. I knew he blamed me. It was all my fault. All of this was my fault. Jimin completely ignored me and stood a few feet away, his words like knives, and his gaze like stone.
âThis-â He gestured between the two of us, â-Whatever you think you may feel for me is wrong. You donât love me. This is not love. Running towards your death to redeem yourself is not loving me.â
âSorry doesnât fix everything,â He murmured, the edge finally beginning to soften.
âDid you say something to your brother?â I demanded.
âWh-what?â He spluttered.
I laughed humorlessly, âCut the shit, Jimin. Whatever youâve said about me has obviously affected his view of me, or was calling me murderer some one-off occurrence? Somehow, I have a hard time believing heâs come to that conclusion all on his own.â
âJi-Hyun would never say something like that,â He hissed, his breath heavy. âWhy would I speak badly about you behind your back? Unlike you, Iâm an upfront person.â
My anger flared once more, and I could slowly see the corners of my vision distorting. As badly as I wanted to end this fight and make up, I knew that would not be possible. Not now. Not ever. Again, he was calling me a liar. Again, I would have to fight this uphill battle to prove myself. Again, I was losing a game I never knew I was playing in the first place.
Cadoc had been wrong. Love was never given freely. Nothing in this life was. Jimin would always need for me to prove myself to him. I would have to fight, bite, scream, and scratch if I wanted to show him that I care. Why I ever hoped it would be different was foolish on my part.Â
âAre you so angry at me that youâre dragging my brother into this?â He shouted.
I scoffed, âThere you go again, treating me as if I am some kind of irrational monster. So, I ask you again, do you really think that little of me?â
Jimin said nothing. Frustrated and tired, I finally had enough. I could smell ash and smoke all around me, and I knew I was about to find myself back at my cottage. Cordeliaâs face was in my mind, Aldaraâs arm hanging out of the wolfâs mouth, and I knew I needed to leave. Numb and slowly dissociating, I sniffled.
âFine.â
âWhat?â He had the nerve to look abashed.
Hand on the front doorknob, I shook my head in defeat. It was over. Jimin was rejecting my love and whatever else I had to offer him. He did not believe in me at all. Somehow that hurt me more than the rejection. His faith had always been constant, his love tender and warm, and that was gone now, too. I had nothing. I was nothing. I deserved whatever I had coming to me. Finally, I had gotten my wish. Finally, he was shouting.
âI didnât mean to ruin your life,â Devoid of emotion, I sniffled. âI know I made a mistake, but Iâm trying my best. Doesnât that matter?â My voice tapered off towards the end.
Jimin said nothing. I turned the knob and was back outside. I stopped waiting for him to stop me once I could no longer see his home. My feet felt like they weighed twenty pounds each and dragged along the dirt road beneath my feet. I needed to get back home. I chuckled humorlessly when I realized I no longer had one.
I truly gave up on him coming to gather me in his arms once the palace came into view. It was eerily quiet tonight and I wanted to go get lost. I wanted to forget. I wanted to leave.Â
The thought occurred to me so quickly, so easily, that it made me smile. Yes, I would leave tonight. It was better this way. I would no longer be a burden to this place and the others could live peacefully without me. Even if I died, I doubted it would matter. Nothing I had ever done worked out anyway. It would be nothing new.
Shifting, I scaled the walls and flew into my bedroom. Just as Cadoc said there were countless items at my disposal all wrapped up and ready to go. I would have plenty of time to look over them tomorrow morning. I would sleep in Moland tonight, hopefully not getting too lost, and try to ask for directions once I reached civilization. It was better than hurting anybody else. It was better than getting any more blood on my hands.
At least I could remain the hero.Â
I cried in pain. I could not believe he thought so lowly of me. No wonder he refused to touch me, I probably disgusted him to no end, and he was hateful that we were bound to one another. Something told me I should stop packing, stop moving, and to breathe, but I ignored it. I did not care what it had to say.Â
Throwing a few spare changes of clothes, paper, and a few spell books, I knew I needed to change out of the frilly nightgown Koda had changed me into. Throwing on an old, loose shirt, I looked around for my trousers when I stumbled across Aldaraâs journals. I had yet to open them since I came here. Running my fingers over the spines, I made the split decision to take them with me. I would need her company to keep me sane.
Finally, I came to a stop as I caught sight of my jewelry box. I had Heidiâs ring on my left hand and Griseldaâs on my right, but they felt far too empty. Opening the lid, the cool ceramic felt heavier than normal in my hands. It took a few minutes of digging before I found Aldaraâs ring and slipped on my right hand. The birdâs head encased my entire index finger, but I did not care. I would be taking this ring. I found my own a moment later, a chain wrapped around the band.
Pulling it out, I secured it around my neck and looked down. I gasped. There shining and glittering under the candlelight was Taehyungâs necklace. The carnelian had been marginally larger than the tip of my thumb, perfectly rounded, and itâs red coloring deep and beautiful. I could see the faint, dark marbling within it, but the lights made it hard to capture its beauty. Spiraling around the stone was a thin wire of steel that ended with a small loop. I thought Taehyung would like something simple, so I finished it off with a long piece of dark cord that I carefully braided. It was beautiful.
My anger dissipated at the sight of it. I had spent days working on that necklace hoping I would not break the stone. I completed it a few days before the present ceremony, but when everything went to shit, I had completely forgotten about it. I placed it on the desk and sighed.Â
Thick, hot tears ran down my cheeks as I cried. I had such high hopes for everyone. If I could turn back time I would, why could nobody see that? Why was Taehyung the only person I believed when he said he would love me regardless? Bitter, I wiped my face roughly and went back to packing.
He was the only one who meant it, thatâs why.
Reaching into my back, I pulled out a single sheet of paper and prepared my ink. I would have to leave something for him at least. No need to worry the people who cared for me. Even Jimin. I canât forgive myself, but I could forgive him. Maybe when I come back, we could work things out.
Taehyung,
Do you remember this? It feels like a lifetime ago. I hope you like it. I wish I could have made a matching one for Sol, but maybe that would have been too perfect. When I get back, I will make sure I have one waiting for her neck. The two of you deserve it. Even if I am angry with your wife, I know I will get over that soon enough.
Tell the others how sorry I am for this impromptu banishment. I fear I have made a real mess of things lately and I donât know how to make it better. No one believes in me, no one thinks Iâm capable, and I canât figure out what it is they mean by it? Am I not strong enough or is it because it does not matter? Iâm sorry if this is confusing. Tonight, has been too much for me. No- today has been too much. The last ten years have been too much.
I havenât had my head on right in a very long time, Tae. So, I beg of you to forgive me. I promise you that no one had a part in my decision to leave like this. Itâs all my own doing. I can only hope I make it back in time to tell you how much you mean to me. How much all of you mean to me.Â
Tell Yoongi that I will miss him more than I miss breathing. Tell Jin his laughter will be something I think about to keep me going. Tell Wendy how much Iâm going to miss her hugs and will yearn for them every day. I need my witches to know that I adore every single one of them and will do whatever it takes to keep them out of harmâs way. Thank Thelma for me. Let Enver know how proud I am and that the blue looks nice.
Lastly, let Jimin know I love him more than anything else in this life. Even my own. That will never change, even when he is frustrated and angry at the world. I promise I will try my best to come back home in one piece. I promise, as the Gods look down upon me, that I will do everything in my power to bring help back. I donât care where I have to go or what I have to do. I will not come back empty handed this time.
Be careful. The elves are not known for their mercy.
With all my love,
Y/N
Slipping on my pants, snatching a pair of earrings Yoongi gifted me for my birthday a few years ago, and lacing up pair of boots, I slung the bag over my back and enchanted my things to flex and change as I did. Afterwards, I shifted and flew out of the window. I did not look down or wait for somebody to find me. Tomorrow morning, they would wake and the cause of all their misery would be gone. I would fight tooth and nail if it meant I had a better chance of getting help to these people. Aldara had never led me astray before.
I wished I could have told Jimin that.
Broken hearted and lost, I flew above the trees and watched the world I know leave me behind. Flying would get me somewhere, but the elves would grow suspicious of a raven wearing a backpack. Soaring, Thelmaâs small boat home cut through the trees and I knew I would have some place to rest my head tonight.
I wished Jimin could have been here with me.

Risk It All (20) - Station.
Genre: Chishiya X F!reader, smut, angst, violence, fluff.
Warning: none!
A/N: so itâs back :)) Iâm editing the version of this I have on wattpad I did upload this there a few days ago Iâm sorry it took me so long to get here! Iâm sorry to all my RIA readers that have had to wait so long. Iâm going to try and get more RIA chapters out in the next week. I have ideas for the story itâs just a matter of time at the moment.
Ch.19 | Masterlist | Ch.21
You and Chishiya successfully managed to throw together some form of breakfast, various fruit tings being mixed along with some packaged pancakes that you were sure had been stolen from a military base.
You had ate in silence, although it wasnât awkward. You couldnât help the way you blushed every time you would look towards him only to see him staring right back at you.
You felt embarrassed every time your face flushed a shade of red, it wasnât often you were in a space like this alone with him but it was something you could get used to.
âWhat are you staring at?â He asked, his voice sounded annoyed but you had learned the difference between that of his curiosity and the at of his annoyance.
You straightened your back, narrowing your eyes at him. âYou.â
âWhy?â He pushed his plate back, turning his attention to the glass of water he had poured.
âBecause.â You shrugged, not entirely sure why yourself.
âFocus on your own food, youâre weird.â He scoffed, his demeanour shifting back to how he was days ago.
You couldnât help but let the sudden change hurt, it was something you should be long used to but you never could adjust to his fluctuating moods. âWhy do you call me things like that?â
âOh come on donât be so sensitive.â He scoffed rolling his eyes as he cleaned he stood, picking his plate up in the process.
Ouch.
âItâs not being sensitive Chish, you give me whiplash. Itâs a genuine question.â You watch his hands word, his thin long fingers working fast as he cleans.
You were sure your question was going to go unanswered especially with the addition of the nickname that he would most definitely protest at some point when he suddenly cleared his throat, making you jump a little. âDid we not discuss this last night.â
âWe did but is it bad that I want more?â You sighed, resting your head against your hand.
âWhat we want doesnât always come to us in the way we would like, Iâm going to get prepared to leave, we should head out soon if youâre still planning to bother me.â And with that he was gone. Empty bag in hand as he shuffled around the small house, gathering whatever it was that he deemed necessary leaving you with nothing but your own swirling tornado of embarrassment and disappointment.
Within an hour you were both ready, dressed in warmer clothes but still adamant on wearing his jacket, you wanted to pull him up on the momentary smile he wore when you came into his eyesight but you didnât, pushing too much would only ruin the progress you had made with him.
âReady?â He mumbles, pulling open the door.
You step outside, the air fresh but not cold. âSo the station.â
âWe should still take back roads, I donât trust that there isnât people here who would try to stop us.â He said placing a hand to your back to guide you through the small alley. âI think if we donât take too many breaks then we could make it by tonight.â
âW-what do we do if we donât?â Itâs pathetic honestly, the way you are a stumbling mess the second he gives you any kind of affection but youâre past the point of trying to seem anything other than yourself.
He looked over to you. âWe wonât.â
The alley was short and narrow but you made it through onto a street you hadnât seen before, the level of overgrow from the plants and the decay to buildings around being more severe than you remember it being just the night before.
âYou noticed it too?â You feel strangely comforted that he looks just as confused as you do.
You agree. âYeah, itâs like itâs aged ten years in the last night alone.â
âWhat the fuck is this place?â He spits, his head whipping around to check for the unknown.
You know itâs dumb, you know itâs a long shot, you know what youâre about to do could end in a humiliating rejection that would make the rest of this trip entirely too weird but in this moment none of those worries were rational against the fear you were keeping secret, wherever you where, whatever the boderlands were, it was not normal.
âCan⊠uhâŠâ you trailed off when you noticed him watching you.
The space between you wasnât great but you were sure he flew to your side. âWhat?â
You reconsidered before mentally slapping yourself, if youâre going to die at least get the man. âHand? Can we?â
âI swear you are an actual baby, give me it.â He huffed holding his own out to which you grabbed before he could change his mind.
Even if you wanted to hide your smirk you couldnât. âIâm not a baby.â
âTell me that again when you donât need adult supervision to cross the street.â He laughed quietly.
Despite how much he loved to mock you and how much he actually did mock you it never ceased to be absolutely annoying and utterly endearing. âI donât need adult supervision, I need Chishiya supervision.â
Should not have said that.
âThat is even worse, did you just come up with that? Donât ever make a joke again.â He deadpanned, his face flat apart from his slightly raised right eyebrow.
He helped you step over a particularly large tree root that had grown out from the ground. âSo you want to walk in silence?â
âPreferably.â He grunts, kicking a few rocks out of his path.
You rolled your eyes, of course he would. âWell thatâs boring, letâs pay 21 questionsâ
âWhat is that?â
âItâs an American thing, I ask a question and then you ask a question.â You explain, a gleeful look to your eye.
Only to be instantly snuffed out with a blunt. âNoâ
âIâll be quiet the entire way back.â You bargain, wanting to learn something, anything about the man youâd hopelessly fallen for.
He paused for a second before nodding. âI can refuse to answer.â
âSure you can, so me first?â You retort.
âNo, me.â He continues guiding you through the overgrown greenery, his hand still in yours. âDo you think you will survive?â
You ponder on the unexpected question, you werenât entirely sure. âI donât know, I would like to see the people I care for here get home, I want to see them safe, I want to understand what this place is. I canât do any of that if I die.â
âOkay.â He shrugs as if he doesnât care but you can tell from the way he is slightly turned towards you that he is listening, he is always listening.
âMy turn.â You chance squeezing his cold hand, to which he does nothing. âWould you feel emotional if I died?â
He ignores it, grunting. âNext question.â
âChish you canât do that to every question, itâs simple just answer it.â You groan.
âFine, I think I would be annoyed that you chose to die instead of being useful to me.â
Once again, ouch.
âYouâre so cold.â You has a right to be angry but then again you asked for this.
âI actually think itâs pretty warm.â
He knew exactly what you meant. âI hate you.â
âWhy do you call me chish?â He questions, taking his turn.
Oh, that was unexpected. âI like it. It makes me feel like we are friends.â
âWe are friends?â He chuckles.
You narrow your eyes at him, pulling him to a stop. âYou are my friend.â
âDidnât you tell me you loved me?â
Your face flushed read, heat pooling at the back of your neck. âY-yeah but I-I mean like.. nothing.â You stumble over your own words, embarrassment too fresh.
âYour turn.â In a way youâre grateful when he reminds you. âUnless you donât want to play.â
âWhatâs something that makes you happy?â It wasnât too invasive.
âI like to read. I like fiction, something that could be realistic but isnât.â
And just like that you began to learn, you surpassed the 21 questions but neither of you stopped, you walked for hours nearing the station when there was a ruffle behind you. Chishiya pushed you to the side, in an attempt to hide you as he looked around.
âMiss me?â You screamed when soft hands landed on your shoulder from behind, Chishiya rushed to you immediately.
You spun around, the terror you felt disappearing when you see her face. âKUINA?!â
âIt isnât enough to have one of you annoying me?â He asks, scooting closer to your side.
You ignore him, even as he slides his hand back into your own, his thumb caressing the skin lightly. Kuina eyes the action but doesnât comment, instead wrapping herself around your free arm as you begin to descend the stairs to the underground train tracks.
âWhy are you here? How did you find us?â You ask, resting your head against her shoulder as you all take a step in unison.
âI found Ann, she told me about what she had found. Sheâs on her way too. I knew if you figured it out youâd be heading here so I wanted to join you. Had to make sure you were both okay.â She smiled at you, despite all the anger and fear in this world kuina still had a soft soul.
You couldnât decipher what it was between Chishiya and Kuina, he didnât hate her, if anything he seemed warmer to her. He seemed more open with her and a part of you was undeniably jealous. You wanted it to be you whom he shared things with but you held on to the sliver of information he had shared about himself with you in the past few hours. That was yours and you were going to hold on to it.
Once you entered the room you were greeted with the faces of Arisu and Usagi.
âArisu, I knew youâd find it.â Chishiya greeted coldly.
âWhy are you here?â Arisu pulled usagi back behind him, a protective act.
Chishiya nodded towards the screen that had alighted âthe same reason as you.â
The screen was bright, something that could be compared to the light of an angel, you were sure that would have been the case if the woman who began to speak didnât exist.
âIs that?âŠâ Arisu trails off.
âMira.â

â©đ©žđ Special Edition Collection:
Obsessed is an understatement. Keep scrolling to read my full review of âImmortal Longingsâ and see why I had to get my hands on EVERY special edition of Chloeâs adult debut!
Gong makes a name for herself as an adult fantasy writer with her explosive debut âImmortal Longings.â
As with her other works, Gong draws inspiration for her novel from Shakespeareâspecifically from his play âAntony and Cleopatraâ in this instance. Her fictional world encompassing the the kingdom of Talinâs capital twin cities, San-Er, closely resembles Kowloon Walled Cityâ an ungoverned and lawless territory that was once the most crowded place on Earth. Though the walled city was demolished in real life, Gong keeps its memory alive in her writing through her intricate world-building and descriptive prose.Â
Gong completely leans into the fantasy genre with âImmortal Longings,â which I thoroughly enjoyed. She establishes that those who have a strong qui are able to jump between bodies. This ability is crucial to the people of San-Erâs survival, as the twin cities have high rates of prostitution, gambling, and drug abuse. Additionally, jumping is beneficial to those competing in the Kingâs Gamesâa series of games hosted by the monarch of Talon where 88 citizens fight to the death to win unimaginable riches. The reader is able to alternate between the perspectives of two of the kingâs players: Princess Calla Tuoleimi and Anton Makusa.Â
Princess Calla is a fierce cat lady who rocks bangs and leather jackets. She killed her own parents (the former rulers of Er) to bring down the monarchy, is no stranger around a sword, and isnât afraid to get her hands dirty. After years of hiding, she enters the games in secret, dead set on finishing the job she started by killing King Kasaâthe ruler of San. Her chance meeting with Anton, however, throws a wrench in her plans.Â
Anton is a master jumper who was exiled from his life as an aristocrat. If he wins, he hopes to use the winnings to pay off the debt he owes to the hospital for keeping his childhood love alive while she is in a coma. While she is the one to give Antonâs life direction, Calla is the one to give it purpose.Â
On their own, Calla and Anton were merely surviving, but together, in their unexpected alliance, they find a way to live. The spark that develops between them reaches a fever pitch leading up to Gongâs first steamy scene, which is as violent as it is delightful.
Aside from Calla and Antonâs points-of-view, Gong supplies the reader with chapters written from August, Pampi, and Yilasâ viewpoints. Through them, we learn of every betrayal, deception, and ruse. Despite this and knowing in advance that âAntony and Cleopatraâ is a Shakespearean tragedy, nothing could have prepared me for the whiplash I experienced at the end of âImmortal Longings.â Iâm afraid my heart wonât stop pounding until I get book two of the âFlesh and False Godsâ series in my hands.Â

The Untouchables:
This film is so fun because half of this film is super serious drama about the mafia and how they messed up Chicago during prohibition era. The other half is like ""what if we made a film about adult criminal investigators chasing after al capone more like the mighty ducks or bad news bears?"". They're a team of underdogs that no one but their coach (eliot ness) believes in. They even hit a lot of the cliches of that genre. There's the nerd who learns to loosen up and the rookie who's got a lot to prove. It's a very goofy film because it's so darn sincere and then suddenly the intensely serious drama keeps crashing the fun. IDK just be prepared for emotional whiplash. Also: Sean Connery won best supporting actor at the oscars for this film and it's deserved. He does a really great job.
All Dogs...:
It's got the dog mafia in a pretty essential role.

Tears streamed down my face as my heart began to ache knowing Younghoon never got closure. I never got the chance to see him again before I had to jump. Grandfather was right, itâs not getting any easier, but I had a job to do. I had to carry on the duty of finishing his work.Â
I stood up, dabbed my tears dry with the sleeve of my sweatshirt and straightened out my clothes. I was so tired of all these different time shifts, it felt like getting whiplash all over again. God, my head hurt so bad, it felt like someone was smashing my head in over and over again.Â
Making my way to the kitchen, mother informed me I had class that day⊠Great.
âHi hon! Youâre up early! You have class in two hours, go get ready and Iâll drop you off, okay?â
Class? I didnât want to go, but I was afraid if I didnât go to class, the continuum may change due to my error.Â
I went to my room to get dressed and wash up after finishing breakfast mother prepared for me.Â
On the way to school, I began dozing off in the car, that is until mother announced our arrivalÂ
âHave fun in class, Iâll be back to pick you up later!â
âThank you mother! See you in a bitâÂ
As soon as I entered the school grounds, my memories suddenly began to flow back. In his letter Grandfather said those who I encounter would be from my memories and the future. He was right, this school was from my memories, except, I didnât remember what happened here.Â
I made my way to class and sat down at my designated seat. A few moments later a boy joined me, my table partner.Â
âHi, Iâm Y/n, nice to meet youâ
âHyunjaeâ He extended his arm out for me to shake, his hands felt warm and oddly comforting. He was kind to me during the first few weeks of school. However, to my great dismay, he slowly became my enemy, my arch nemesis.Â
It all started as small antics like walking into class and purposely bumping into my desk while sitting down, messing up my notes without apologizing. Now this didnât necessarily bother me, it was just annoying, but I brushed it off.Â
Then he started forgetting his supplies at home, claiming he âforgot themâ rushing out the door. Obviously, I felt bad and lended him my things, but he never gave them back. I once gave him my favorite pen, but he never gave it back.Â
Thatâs right, Hyunjae, my table partner, began stealing my pens. It bothered me, but I never confronted him because I felt bad, until it happened again and again. I had enough since grandfather never warned me about such people like Hyunjae.Â
âHyunjae, where did my pens go? Do you know how much money I have to spend on them?â
âYou never asked for them back, so I never bothered to give them backâ He answered so nonchalantlyÂ
âYouâve got to be kidding me. So you think I willingly let you use my pens?âÂ
âYesâ
âIs that why you âforgetâ your stuff at home?â
âItâs too heavy, and plus you have nice pens so why not?â
If grandfather were here, I would go screaming to him. Heâs seriously got to be the most infuriating person I have encountered so far, which makes it easy when I have to jump into the next time continuum.Â
The next time I see Hyunjae is at the local cafe on campus, heâs got this grin which terrifies me. With people like him, you never know what they have planned. In this case, I had to be careful because Hyunjae was full of surprisesÂ
âFancy seeing you here, Y/nâ
âI could say the same about youâ
âDo you mind if I join you? I have some time to kill before my next classâÂ
âSureâ I pushed my materials to the side and curiously eye Hyunjae as he sets his backpack on the table to pull out a mysterious pouchÂ
âHereâ He hands me said pouch, itâs relatively light, so I open it and was shockedÂ
âWait, you kept them all?â The pouch was full of the pens I had let him borrow, but what shocked me the most was how neatly they were bound together
âYeahâ He shyly responded, his eyes darted towards the plants surrounding the cafeÂ
âWait, if you kept all my pens, why did you keep asking to borrow them?â
âI wanted a reason to talk to youâ
âWhat?âÂ
âI thought you were cute, okay? I didnât know how else to talk to you. So, I purposefully left my pens at home so that I could talk to you everydayâÂ
I knew he was genuine, but I couldnât entertain the idea of forming any sort of romantic relationship with him. I had to remember grandfather's warning, but at this point it was breaking my heart. I couldnât leave another person heartbroken.Â
âThatâs really sweet of you Hyunjae, thank you for bringing my pens backâÂ
âI was also hoping we could-âÂ
Before he could finish his sentence, I knew where he was going, so I had to make up an excuse to leave. I hurriedly packed my belongings and ran out the cafe, but not without shouting a quick excuseÂ
âSORRY I HAVE TO GO WALK MY GOLDFISHâ
I ran home, I couldnât bear to see his stupid face, it was a dumb excuse, I know, but I had to leave. I couldnât risk not being able to leave. As soon as I got home, I noticed how dark it had gotten, so before I went to bed I wrote a letter and made sure to give my neighbor, who was also my classmate, to deliver the letter to Hyunjae.Â
âHyunjae,Â
I am so sorry to have rushed out so soon. Please donât think that I donât like you, trust me, I really do. I admire how much joy you have, and while your dumb pranks had bothered me at first, you slowly have become one of the reasons why I show up to class everyday.Â
I wish I could stay, but Itâs just that, I canât and I canât tell you why.Â
Thank you for being so kind to me, I hope to see you again one day.
Love, Y/nâÂ
As soon as I sealed the letter, I instructed mother to deliver it to my next door neighbor and fell asleep.
