An Unusual Devil...?

As you're returning to your lodgings, you notice a strange woman in your path. Is she a devil? But devils usually aren't so... Blue. Is she a clay woman? But she would certainly be unfinished, wouldn't she? Oh god, she's turning to you. She looks like she wants a fight. What do you do?

ATTACK! Whatever she is, she's dangerous! Kill her before she kills you! A straightforward challenge Your Dangerous quality gives you a 100% chance of success.

Redirect Her She wants a fight. Who says it has to be against you? A modest challenge Your Persuasive quality gives you a 65% chance of success.

Approach Her She looks... Sad. Maybe she just needs a listening ear? A high-risk challenge Your Watchful quality gives you a 20% chance of success.

So those of you have been keeping up with me will know my character for Fallen London, Emery. But recently I made a second account and with that a second character to explore the Neath as. Meet Fae Ghuleh, a...

Okay, here's where I pull back the curtain, admit defeat, and tell you I don't know what the fuck she is. Like Emery, she was a pre-existing OC I didn't have much use for so I thought she would fit nicely into Fallen London. Only problem? She wasn't exactly designed to be human.

I initially thought about making her a Devil, but the Devils in Fallen London are for the most part just humans with amber eyes. (and also they're bees) I considered making her a clay woman, and more specifically an unfinished one, which could work but weirdly enough it's her long bushy hair that gives me pause. I could probably write off more of her unusual features like the horns with the lore of how the unfinished clay men are made, and her forehead is covered by her bangs so I could always put her symbol on there. However Fallen London has a lot of weird stuff in general with no particular explanations, so for now I'm just gonna make her vague even in universe. I appreciate suggestions though, mainly because what she is could determine her heart's desire... If she has one.

Anyway figurosity was used for the pose. Have a nice day.

Pardon my focus on the SQUIP's suffering recently but I really like how Stewart Clarke does the SQUIP's deactivation scene.

Like Christine drinks the MTN dew red, everybody starts screaming as all the SQUIP's get deactivated, as wonderfully done and standard

THEN the SQUIP, quickly left alone on stage as everybody rushes out, goes "nonononoNONONO-" in the most frantic, desperate way (sounding almost like that one Punisher meme) because his plans are royally fucked and he's going to die painfully

Now alone on stage, he calls Jeremy's name in that same desperate tone, like he can somehow get Jeremy to undo his fate

Of course that's not happening but for that split second the SQUIP hopes that maybe, just maybe

That second passes. He then laughs maniacally, like a full on villain laugh like his desperation is washed away by some cruel humor at his impending doom

Then, probably my favorite part of the performance, he calls Jeremy's name in a sing-songy, upbeat way, like when a character tries to do damage control and act all buddy-buddy with the other characters after betraying them

Like "HAHA Jeremy come on now buddy!!!"

Or perhaps like his deactivation is some big joke. The way he says Jeremy's name is like he finds it so funny

Then, finally, he screams Jeremy's name in rage and agony because after everything he did to help Jeremy he goes and kills him, he discards him like he was nothing also because it's probably really painful

Then he sings "I am from Japan" in Japanese (I think that's what the SQUIP says?), propels back with an agonized scream (like holy shit) sings "I am from Japan" again with a rising tone that ends with another scream as he deactivates

Like,,,, 10/10.
