First, I wanna say thank you to all the new people who’ve been following me for the past couple of weeks and to everyone who’s been liking, commenting, and reblogging my fics! I appreciate you all so much🩷!!

Second, I’ve been noticing something lately and I wanted to bring it to everyone’s attention.

Lately, I’ve noticed lots of ghost followers/emoji anons and there’s been way fewer people interacting than usual which has been bothering me. When following please be interactive, I’ve been making multiple polls for the past few weeks and all of them have less than 100 votes (some less than 50) and I have tons more followers than that. Also to my emoji anons please be interactive as well, I love talking to each of you and always love receiving your requests.

Regarding requests I haven’t been receiving any and I’ve been making multiple posts asking for requests for different things so I could create more content for you guys to enjoy. When I ask for requests (I’ll use my college!au and hc req posts as an example) I’m usually free of all previous requests and are open to more, I will start working on them as soon as you send them in and post them as soon as possible. Also when there is a character I need more works for or I come up with an idea for a certain scenario I’ll make a req post. What I’m saying is don’t be shy to send in any requests you may have!

Being interactive really helps me stay motivated to put out content for you all because it lets me know you’re engaged and are liking the works I’m putting out. Seeing people be inactive does cause moments of feeling frustrated and discouraged because I’m trying my best to keep this blog up and running and put out entertaining content and by not receiving/seeing any interaction makes me feel like people are disregarding/ignoring my posts.

I have an event that I was planning on posting this week but I’m holding off until I notice more people becoming more interactive because I don’t want to post it and it flops from people aren’t engaging.

I’ve said all of this to say, please be active and not a ghost follower/emoji anon! It really helps me when you're engaging with my posts, etc.

Your personal triggers and squicks do not get to determine what kind of art other people make.

People make shit. It's what we do. We make shit to explore, to inspire, to explain, to understand, but also to cope, to process, to educate, to warn, to go, "hey, wouldn't that be fucked up? Wild, right?"

Yes, sure, there are things that should be handled with care if they are used at all. But plenty more things are subjective. Some things are just not going to be to your tastes. So go find something that is to your tastes and stop worrying so much about what other people are doing and trying to dictate universal moral precepts about art based on your personal triggers and squicks.

I find possession stories super fucking triggering if I encounter them without warning, especially if they function as a sexual abuse metaphor. I'm not over here campaigning for every horror artist to stop writing possession stories because they make me feel shaky and dissociated. I just check Does The Dog Die before watching certain genres, and I have my husband or roommate preview anything I think might upset me so they can give me more detail. And if I genuinely don't think I can't handle it, I don't watch it. It's that simple.
