You hear Boothill's footsteps thudding with each step as he enters the room, but you don't make the effort to look back at him.

It's tiring, everything is. Repeating the same chore over and over everyday without a meaning to it. Nothing ever feels right anymore. Sometimes you question yourself if this was even real—

"Hey, none of that now." Boothill's rough voice snapped you out of your trance. It's like he can sense when something was wrong from how rotten you looked staying in bed.

He takes his hat off, throwing it on the side before settling down on the bed beside you, the weight of the mattress shifting as wrapped his strong arms around you and pulling you close against him, "There ya go, darlin'. Your personal cuddles have arrived." You feel all too warm that it could make you tear up, with your cheek nuzzling against the smooth surface of his chest.

"I may be not as soft as your smooth precious skin, but i think cuddles work the same." He let out a breathy chuckle on top of your head when he noticed how you were quietly laughing to yourself.

"It's perfect." You make sure to tell him, "i want to eat you, affectionately."

"Yes, i guess i do need to charge." Boothill's expression softens as he listens to your words.

riddle would actually be on better terms with azul than most of the other dorm leader characters, bc riddle does not just see him as a crime boss lol. for one, riddle is just as smart, probably even smarter than azul so azul respects him a lot and wouldnt try to take advantage of him (doesnt stop him from acting like an underhanded prick tho)

riddle cant go swimming in the ocean (saltwater is bad for garden people) but does like the beach so he visits azul a couple times a year. riddle is very busy as garden prince tho so they mostly communicate by phone. however through many years of knowing each other, azul has learned riddle appreciates the art of handwritten letters and switched to writing to make himself look good (schmoozing)

they have a contract in which azul supplies dead fish to the garden kingdom, which they use to improve the health of their soil. in return the garden kingdom supplies most of the restaurants vegetables and herbs (jade and floyd are typically the ones to handle delivery). so azul and riddle arent exactly friends but have a good business relationship.

there would be an episode in which azul is fed up and actually fires floyd. floyd spends the entire episode looking for somewhere more fun to work but finds that most employers are not nearly as tolerant of his working habits as azul. floyd eventually ends up working in the garden kingdom but somehow ends up destroying part of the castle. riddle is so furious that he phones up azul and demands he take floyd back or he will consider floyd's behavior an act of terrorism lmao. obviously azul wants to smooth things over so he sends jade to collect floyd (who ofc gets his job back).

there would be an episode in which azul and riddle are forced to go on an adventure together (maybe theyre stuck in a dungeon or smth idk) but they both usually leave the adventuring to others so neither has much experience. the whole episode is them arguing over whose method they should use to defeat monsters, solve puzzles, escape traps, etc. then they realize both their methods are trash bc magical dungeons dont play by logic or science or any of the rules theyre both used to. they proceed to use violence and nonsense to complete the quest and decide they never want to go on another adventure again.

and yes, i do!! a few actually, heh. i've talked a little bit about the youkai & denki mystery aus i have for kuroba before and i really love those, but i think my favorite might actually be their royalty / prince au. which i haven't really talked about before so uh. i hope you don't mind, but i'm gonna use this as a excuse to ramble about it.

i'll put my infodumping under a cut bc it might get long, but here's their designs for the au. 🤭

SO. kuroba comes from a commoner household, but because their grandfather was the royal gardener to the matsuno family and they acted as his apprentice, they've basically lived their entire life on the castle grounds in spite of their status. they've gotten to meet and come to befriend quite a few people of a higher social status than them, the most notable being the 2nd prince of the matsuno royal family, karamatsu.

they first met as children, when karamatsu ran away from his caretakers to hide in the gardens and cry by himself. kuroba had been helping with cleaning up the rose beds that day and stumbled upon him. they've always been the meddling type and can't leave others alone when they're upset so they sat with him and tried to comfort him to the best of their ability, ( even if it was just providing him company and a hand to squeeze while he cried. ) after that, karamatsu became very curious about kuroba and would often visit the gardens in the hopes of spending time with them. the two became very close over time, with him following them around the gardens as they worked and running to them whenever he needed a shoulder to cry on ( which they were always happy to provide. )

they're still very close as adults despite some things changing, like karamatsu adopting a more flashy personality to stand out more amongst his brothers and kuroba taking over their grandfather's role as royal gardener. a lot of the things stayed the same, though.

however, their close friendship starts posing some issues within the royal counsel. one of the princes having such an intimate relationship ( and obvious infatuation ) with a commoner is unsightly in the eyes of the nobility and could make them question the integrity & stability of the crown. so iyami, ( who's a sketchy noble adviser to king matsuzou, ) proposes that karamatsu be engaged to duchess dobusu to help quell the rumors going around about kuroba and him. matsuzou agrees and even though he tries to protest it, kara eventually agrees to go along with it for the sake of his family and kuroba.

when karamatsu tells them the news, kuroba takes it pretty well and congratulates him with a smile... or at least, that's the reaction he gets out of them. in reality, they're fucking devastated because they've been harboring feelings for him for years at that point. they already accepted the fact that they could never be together, but that doesn't make the reality of the situation hurt any less. still, they want to support karamatsu and be happy for them so they're taking the truth about their feelings for him to the grave. ( that's what they planned on doing, at least. )

they slowly drift apart after that ; karamatsu's visits to the gardens become less frequent, kuroba stops personally delivering fresh arrangments to karamatsu's quarters, they barely even greet each other when crossing paths. it doesn't help that iyami got into kuroba's ear, warning them that they should keep their distance from kara to preserve his reputation and not lose their job — which they really can't afford as the main breadwinner for their family. neither of them are happy with how things have changed, but there's not much they can do about it.

as karamatsu and dobusu's engagement party draws closer and kuroba has to help with the decorations, their discontent really bubbles to the surface. one of their noble friends, ( i haven't decided who yet lol, ) finds them crying and tries to comfort them, eventually convincing them to sneak into the party and dance with kara so they at least have one unforgettable memory of him to hold onto. with their help, they manage to do it with their identity hidden behind a mask.

things seem to go off without a hitch ; they'll be able to have to moment with karamatsu all for themself and basically no one will be the wiser. that is until they slip up and speak while dancing with him. they start to leave when he almost says their name, but he stops them and gives them the pine-shaped brooch he was wearing before letting them slip away. to make matters worse, iyami sees this all go down.

the events after that are a lot less plotted out, but i imagine some standard historical fantasy romance webtoon bullshit going down. like karamatsu trying to confront kuroba about that night, but them telling him to stop and leave them be. it's be some wild melodrama, which i do kinda live for.

the climax would probably be iyami staging some villainess-esque condemnation event to expose kuroba for sneaking into the party and get them kicked out of the castle. but queen matsuyo and some of the nobles kuroba had befriended come to their rescue. basically, they argue that if there's someone who's willing to be with karamatsu's annoying ass, then why would you force him onto someone else? none of the other nobles want him, please let kuroba have him so they don't have to deal with him. this includes dobusu, who agrees to give the royal family her duchy's support if they break off her engagement with karamatsu and let kuroba take him off her hands. so after getting matsuzou's approval, they live happily ever after theeeeeee end. there's probably other factors that could play into them getting together at the end, but yeah.

the fourth wall is such a cool power to have. the complexity of how it acts based on his perception of fiction vs reality as the reader …. that’s very interesting and well thought out!!! how it lowkey has a consciousness too and it’s so tied into his mental state makes me want to psychoanalyze this guy even more. probably one of the most unique powers I’ve seen created and explored in a story tbh

I think the entire system of how the world works is really well done in general. constellations watching the apocalyptic bloodbath via livestream and sending donos to their favorite little guys shouldn’t work as well as it does and cracks me up so much 😭 (uriel is the best). I enjoy learning about all the irl different fables, history & mythologies too. plus doing my own research is fun! I did a deep dive through the web to learn about dokkaebi folklore lol I’m having a good time

I also related hard to how dokja read TWSA throughout his life, the story was a companion for him. got choked up bc I reflected on how much my own favorite companion stories for years mean to me. there’s been situations I’ve thought “what would (character) do?” dokja saying stuff like “what would joonghyuk do?” felt like I got called out <3 I’d probably be the same as him if my favorite characters suddenly came to life

anyways yeah I caught up with the manhwa looked online and discovered it comes from an already completed novel with over 500 chapters and the manhwa is barely a third into adapting it though it’s been releasing every week for 4 years. and that it’ll take like 10 more years to finish. I then planted my face in my hands and screamed with despair

Which OC's fit to the seven deadly sins: YES The yes as a joke aside, in all honesty, the majority of aspects/sins would fit to assign to almost any OC of mine, cause most of them are some deeply flawed individuals lol

More fleshed out answers to the traits that fit the most:

Pride: Emilio - He's a very prideful person, proud of his family, proud of his upbringing, proud of his achievements, well, proud of almost everything. Which is one of the reasons why he feels so down whenever something in life doesn't work as he planned, or wished for, or also why he has high standards for other people aswell. He simply wants everyone to be at their max form, cause in his eyes it's a big advantage to have in life.

Greed: Aaron - Well if this isn't fitting idk what is lol. Greed is definitely a big aspect of his personality and of his actions. Like doing outrageous stuff online for reactions? Most of these can be linked back due to him being greedy for followers and attention. It's not only online-based though, craving for recognition and for the feeling of being better than everyone else reflects back to his regular life and interactions aswell.

Wrath: Luca - Dude is pretty fuelled by anger, it's one of the heaviest triggers for his impulses and a big reason why he's often losing control to his urges. Is very heavily attached to the things he holds dear, so whenever something/somebody hurts him, he'll quickly bury the feelings of hurt underneath negativity and that usually leads to explosive moments.

Envy: Sharon - Tbh barely a day of her's goes by without thinking of herself in the shoes of some other. Whether it's because someone else is in a relationship and she is not, or other people getting to interact with their families (because she doesn't have one), feeling happy whenever someone experiences misfortune, leads to her feeling better because at that moment she isn't the one suffering, stuff like that pretty much shapes her mood.

Lust: Vale - Gotta say it's self explaining lmao, and also it just fits all over bc despite being a pretty nihilistic person, he'd feel even less desire to live without simple enjoyments (short lived flings, alcohol or cigarettes, free time alone, etc) in life, so if he wants something, he gets/does it, no matter the measures, or if it's forbidden or frown upon, like he doesn't care about any consequences, cause the lust for his desires (even if only temporary) outweighs most things.

Gluttony: Maggie - This was the hardest one to assign tbh, but it fits to Maggie the most. She's kinda wasteful, for example as in that she buys way too much food, and thus tends to throw a lot of it out, because she just doesn't think about if she will truly use up everything. This doesn't extend to food only, she simply may buy too many things cause she simply can't get enough and loses overview of a realistic view of uses. Also it doesn't help that she gets attached to material possessions kinda quickly.

Sloth: Kaia - She's not lazy at all, it's rather that she often just doesn't... care. A very chill person, some would describe her as too chill. Like, her job as a cemetary caretaker? She does it because not many people else would do, and she doesn't mind doing it, cause well, it's just a job to her. Not many things surprise or shock her, as she herself found the explanation for most stuff in life. Which is probably a reason generally why she often seeks out more extreme stuff for excitement.

Gina gets a pass for this challenge bc neither of these sins fit her very much (and she's also the 8th one heh)

My problem is that they treat it like diversity had been there since the beginning of time itself and never had any negative impact on ppl. Everyone treating everyone the same regardless of skin color? Ok, fine, that means that it was there for long enough for ppl to have forgotten racism is a thing. I'm not against diversity, I'm against the very modern attitude it takes. If people are chill in big cities, are they also chill in the countryside? Want diversity? Great. But treat is realistically, stop trying to make it uniform. Show diff cultures, how immigrats deal w it.

saw Dune 2 (2une?), and since I don't have my dune blog anymore I'll post here, since blah blah this is my place for posting about Dynastic Weirdos. This is long but NO MAJOR SPOILERS, except about like, small detail things that aren't plot things but whatever

Tbh it was disappointing. It had all the correct elements to be liked but one thing grated on me the whole time...the Bad Dialogue and lack of Elevated Speech! Why the hell were all these characters saying stuff like "these guys" "we're ok" and "literally" it took me out of the fantastical world sOOO bad. Super bummer because what I loved about Dune 1 (D-uno?) As someone who went into it before reading or knowing anything was how much it didn't explain, how it let the visuals and the world unfold before you, and how serious and somber it was in a way that gave it a sense of scale and time.

I can only wonder if WB saw all the complaints and tweets about people being like "we didn't understand the first movie!!! It wasn't funny and quippy!!!" And decided to simplify it down so characters just SAY things really obviously and inelegantly. The writing has some competence in moving the story forward but there's no poetry or rhythm to the way characters say things, it's serving "Rings of Power" scriptwriting to me lmao. And it's not like any of the actors are bad? I've seen them do well in the previous movie and in other things, so wtf was going on with the direction. I know people complained Abt Villeneuve saying that whole thing about being more into visuals than dialogue but maybe he was right...there needed to be LESS WORDS. bc much of the words we had were NOT GOOD.

Positivity: the middle and latter part was where the movie picked up for me. The Harkonnen Freak Villain behavior was everything I could have wanted! Finally instead of EXPLAINING everything obviously we got to see a LOT of character building, for Feyd specifically in a very short amount of time. I know a lot of us complained about Bald Feyd-Rautha but Mr Elvis did a very good job. And we got Madame Fenring and weird scifi femdomming finally, which is Essential for the Duniverse! Wonderful fantastic no notes.

Of course, getting back to our heroes, I anticipated this 2 years ago sadly and it was true...the Fremen were badass but SWAGLESS. More Learned ppl have already written about the frustration with the erasure of the Arabic/North African cultural presence so I won't reiterate that here since I'm not super knowledgeable about the specifics of that but even as a casual watcher there was a weird emptiness to the way I feel the society was portrayed. There were individual good character moments, such as fun bantering among the Fedaykin etc, but for Pacing or Whatever they cut out the community aspects that served to make them feel more like well, a People rather than just either Grizzled Soldiers/ Religious Fundamentalists aka Marks/Panicked refugees. I have to guess this was ppl were like "we can't show a culture too cool and colorful and the part with Harrah (Jamis' widow) would feel too ORIENTALIST!!! But the result is something sadly very dry. At least in more older orientalist works, the interest comes from when the ~exotic~ stereotypes figures are able to have charming personalities and personalities and be known as people despite the cliches sometimes but this sadly wasn't even like that....

Jamis' funeral is a good example of this; in the Book, it's a moment where you first get a good look of what rituals are like in this world, and how people relate to each other and to the dead. In the movie, the funeral is looks more foreign and even a little creepy as the water is extracted from the body. There's not really a Personal or community connection aspect to it at all.

The ending was pretty good as it satisfied all the Cool Dune Moments I think we all wanted to see, and also did literally the end of The Godfather Part 1 Framing which was hee hee heh. Anyways, Messiah is MY favorite book of the series personally so curious how they get to that.

Maybe I've been too spoiled by Cool Historical Fiction lately? I've been watching too much of The Devil's Crown where action happens mostly off screen but the dynastic drama is written and acted so compellingly, the historical mindset and setting so alien and yet so human and relatable, it's frustrating to see when works try to do the opposite? Idk??? Dune books themselves is fun in how action is mostly an "offscreen, offstage"' thing.

Benched is a PEAK episode I mean, Pigsy singing? Macactus whump? Tang's inspirational speech? the energy was high during that scene. Anyways, ep breakdown LEGGO!! Wdym that's YT, its Wukong calling his ex bff "Macat" XD anyways. This ep is the start of "Wukong can't read" jokes which I've seen people get pretty annoyed at, but y'know, the actual punchline was that he has stage fright. He can read if he's been sending MK letters, he just can't do it in front of people. I don't know HOW you pinged Pigsy as a good singer but lmao, nice job. I never guessed it. My reaction was more of a "this may as well happen." Congrats to Tang for no longer being the token human, he didn't realize had powers at ALL until they fully manifested today. Machingling being in charge of effects makes sm sense for his character lol, for a shadow to control the lighting and smoke effects on set heh. the background player. Lucky for Tang this ep, he's not Macquackers here who routinely fails every evil henchmen mission he's ever sent on and gets his fluffy behind handed to him every time. Us, the audience knowing his situation and Wukong being so serious about Machocolate-melting-in-the-sun like he isn't the most pathetic wet beast this season is really funny. Yep, still in the lantern, because turns out. Yeah, he can in fact, stop at something and that's called "being electrocuted at point blank range and being super overwhelmed by the noise" lookie there! they threw in a Six Ears reference by how he reacted!

It was a very good episode.

I was going to comment on the not being able to read thing, but I opted not. I'm pretty sure lots of people already voiced my exact opinion on it.

It'd be better if the creators kinda went with the JttW route, Wukong being blind and relying on Golden Vision to see. And with it being paper, he can't necessarily read words that are printed on it. Not really possible in this story, but it would have made a bit more sense.

But, yeah, the punchline really being his stage fright. That's fine. I don't know many people who haven't experienced any kind of stage fright.

Pigsy being able to sing just seemed to fit into this universe lmao. Also, I think I've heard his VA sing before? I could be misremembering, but I think he can actually sing.

I'm happy for Tang. He deserves some powers. As a treat.

There's been some really nice fanart, and I love the fake ad ones people make, and the pinups. I love buying merch from people.

Its also nice when people treat their plushes nicely, or actually see him as more than just the "funny salesman." Don't get me wrong, Spamton's is an awesome a salesman and all, but that's not all he is.

Oh, my fave part though, is how everyone celebrates his fan birthday. Thats super sweet. I love seeing people make fanart for that.

Mostly just the fact that the fandom is made up of a LOT of hateful people, who hatepost about Spamton because he's "popular," or because their fans of Swatch/Queen/Addisons and are in denial about what those guys did to him so they try to pin it on Spamton by saying "he deserved it" or saying it never happened.

Which is REALLY ironic in a way. But wait, we got more!

Many people can't get past the "funny salesman" trope. They think the salesman pitch Spamton puts on is literally all he is, that he really is this guy who is silly, obsessed with money, and batshit crazy. Does no one know how entertainment works!? Has no one ever followed a YouTuber or Twitch streamer, or gone to the circus or seen a live show? That how people act in front of a camera, isnt how they act all the time!? Spamton doesn't actually care about money, he said it himself; he does all he does because he's an entertainer trying to survive! The Spamton Sweepstakes, the Fangamer ads, the Twitter replies... while they contain truths and genuine things about him, for much of it, he's playing everyone like fiddles! He's saying whatever the hell he can to make you buy his shit, because funny thing, its his job! And the things is, it WORKS. Everyone totally buys in to it! But while I'm sure he does find joy in what he does, it can also be kind of painful that everyone actually thinks that's all he is in a way... they infantilize him, they treat him like he's crazy/stupid, they stereotype him, they make fun of him, they talk about wanting to hurt him... and they think its okay, because "he's in on the joke." Yeah? You really think anyone would find joy in seeing you make art of them getting abused/hurt/killed? REALLY? Ever thought that maybe... its not actually okay....

I guess I feel bothered by it. Sure Spamton chooses to play up all the stereotypes about him so that people will buy his stuff, and its cool that he can still joke about things like that. But... I wish people saw more of the real him sometimes, and realized he deserves kindness and respect like anyone else.

But I think Spamton is a good example of how people go too far, how they'll greedily take everything from someone, even their dignity, if it means feeding their own happiness. How they can't separate entertainment from reality (... yeah yeah, some irony there as I'm talking about a fictional character...)

In a way, the Spamton fandom, often represents to me, much of the things I hate about the entertainment industry, hell even fandom. I'm glad people love him and buy his stuff, but I also wish they liked him for kinder reasons. I hope that if he continues to be in entertainment, he gets to make something he loves, that allows him to be who he wants to be. Because like many of us, he sometimes gets trapped in a role, determined by other people. And while some of it is true, like he is funny and has a dark sense of humor, and I'm sure he does enjoy many of the things he does... but some of it, I think is sort of forced on him. It's like if you don't act the way everyone wants, they'll get angry or abandon you. And that, thats awful.

(And Im not saying don't enjoy his salesman persona, just that, I wish people saw the rest of him too. Because he's a kind, caring and brave guy, and I really wish him the best ya know?)

i only need super minimal encouragement to talk about this soooooo ty @freetobeeyouandme lmao. been thinking about stranger things heist au again. and it got long into brainstorming territory so just... (waves hand vaguely) thoughts continue under the cut.

legacy families like the byers who never pulled high-end jobs, content in their little pond being small-time crooks incapable of understanding why jonathan, with all his flawless lifts and situational awareness, would try to reach above and start in on the big jobs.

joyce who met lonnie on a job and joyce and jonathan who protect will from lonnie's frustration when will turns out to be an awful thief who doesn't enjoy crime the littlest bit. (he does turn out to be quite the forger when the time comes, though.)

contrast with that the wheelers who are an all-american halfway happy law-abiding family whose eldest, nancy, walks eyes front into a life of crime to protect her friend and finds that it becomes inevitable, a sort of ceaseless need to keep going. who never wanted her little brother involved.

but apparently the wheeler siblings have some sort of crime beacon on them because of course nancy quite literally crashes into her brother trying to take down the same scumbag two towns over she is, although he looks at her like she's crazy when she lays out her plan and man, what her little brother has planned is actually pretty clever and much more subtle than the approach she was gonna take. they have ground rules, but she doesn't try to keep him from pulling jobs. she knows it'd be useless.

dustin is an incredibly bright kid with what may be a slight tendency to go overboard in the name of Science. he loves blowing stuff up every now and again, okay?! and also it's just criminal (heh) what some pharma companies do so he might be breaking into their headquarters and screwing with their formulas and contaminating their experiments until he figures out how to take them down permanently. sue him! (but please don't actually sue him, he hasn't found a great lawyer yet.)

lucas on the other hand was dragged into crime kicking and screaming. not something he ever wanted to do. (will will understand but then lucas kind of loses him when he did it anyway.) mike and dustin sort of kidnapped him into it, basically, when they were all still strangers, dustin and mike barely partners on this one con, and they'd needed a patsy who worked for the corporation they're stealing from. unfortunately they were still young and dumb enough to pick someone actually smart who trapped them in an office until they copped to their scheme at which point lucas demanded proof of their accusations which coincidentally was exactly what mike anf dustin were after. after that they can’t really seem to separate. he's turned into a jack of all trades, lucas sinclair - grifter, thief, hitter... even the occasional hacker. not the greatest at any, but good at all.

(we don't talk about erica who will one day give him a heart attack blowing up his whole carefully crafted alibi.)

robin's a strange sort of grifter, not someone who immediately charms everyone in a room, but who knows how to make herself either invaluable or severely underestimated. she speaks like every language under the sun. like steve she has a certain aimlessness at first but unlike steve it's not due to having no ideas but more of a thing of having no options. until they're offered to her. then she's unstoppable.

max is out there somewhere being a thief different from jonathan, self-made and scared and on the west coast. but if they were to meet jonathan would recognize those gritted teeth and the hard work. it's not natural talent that made her so good at what she does but pure stubbornness.

el, on the other hand, is all raw talent and exploited for it for a long time when she's a kid. it's will who meets her first, who gives her an out, but when it lands him in trouble it's the other criminals who help her get him out. joyce, mike and jonathan develop an instantaneous protective streak for her. lucas isn't sold and dustin is mostly in love with her demolitions capabilities and nancy is hungry for the dirt she has on various government agencies.

Are you named after anyone? I dunno but as you can tell my Dad wanted us all to have b names.

When was the last time you cried? Umm I don't wanna talk about it but yeah my break up...

Do you have kids? KIDS?!? Man I'm still young!!!

Do you use sarcasm? I'm the most sarcastic guy you'll ever meet.

What's the first thing you notice about people? Their eyes *wink*

What's your eye color? Green. We've all got our Dad's eyes.

Scary movies or happy endings? Scary movies heh. Me and my bro love to scare the shit out of Bailey when watching them.

Any special talents? Besides from looking this good *chuckles* so many, basically I'm good at everything there's-

Where were you born? Evergreen Harbour, I've got many bad memories from that place, I'm so glad to finally live the beach life.

What are your hobbies? Since coming to Sulani any water sports. You could say I'm your surfer guy.

Have you any pets? Our golden retriever Goldie. He's been with us for as long as I remember and I love him. Mum called saying he's not been well and had to visit the vets, so I hope it's not serious.

What sports do you play/have played? Y'know I'm quite an athletic guy and have done all sorts. Billy got me into football, but my favourite is definitely swimming.

How tall are you? 185 cm. I refuse to believe Billy is taller than me, apparently he's 186 cm. Must be the way he styles his hair.

Favorite subject in school? All the science subjects chemistry, biology and physics. Actually I aced everything...except maths. God I hated maths, just got a passing grade huh.

Dream job? I'm living the dream. A marine biologist right next to the water. Life is so sweet.
