every time an american jokes about moving to aotearoa to get away from their admittedly SHIT political landscape i get mad bc sure we’re better but all our prominent politicians support trump, healthcare here is shit and the “free” part is shoved out of reach to anyone who doesn’t fit a specific criteria, there’s a bunch of getaway with not paying minimum wage clauses, the current government is actively fucking over renters which are a majority of the young population, heating is dead unaffordable, and everyone here has an atrocious defeatist “we’re too small to make a difference” mindset to any global problem. like yes its BETTER here but we already have a fucking collection of shithead false hippie upper middle class white liberal americans who moved here “for the experience” who are all over instagram calling us ungrateful for not being content w what we have.

yknow what i am actually going to make a post even a mutual couldnt love lmao, under a cut for pregnancy/baby ponderings
i know im in the minority with this on tumblr bc a lot of ppl on here hate and despise the idea of being pregnant (and i fully respect that lol) but ngl i do kinda feel like on the Post Revolution Utopian Commune my job of choice would probably just be having babies until my body called it quits on that whole bit skfjfk like. just being pregnant and nursing them and then handing them off to ppl who like doing the next stage of childcare labor, probably while doing some sort of fibercraft in between! why? no fucking clue i just have kinda always felt like i should be pregnant and i love tiny little babies ♡ and if im on the Post Revolution Utopian Commune then feeding me is somebody else's problem and my pals could wander by and chat with me while i puttered around and spun or crocheted or whatnot :]
but also i feel like its SO hard to say that without sounding like an insane tradwife type sdkdnhdkds i def do not need all the babies to belong to the same person. or anyone in particular tbh. if technology was still a thing they could even do the thing where they put someone else's egg in me and i just incubate that shit idc, its not like. a marriage thing or a Breeding Thing lmfao there can be absolutely zero sex involved, i just. should have babies. i probably wont ever bc this isnt the Post Revolution Utopian Commune and that shit is a) hard and b) expensive so i expect to be living a permanently childfree lifestyle lmao but. babby.

tng update time. last night we watched "datalore" together and this morning i caught "angel one" on my own
datalore: not terrible!! i felt really bad for data the entire time of course. kind of delighted to find out he is amnesiac-adjacent in this episode, at least as far as not knowing where he comes from or why. i've gotten used to thinking of him as friend-shaped but lore reminded me of just how creepy he actually does look because he was making the creepy faces
the planet and lab were cool though it was hilarious that one of the pieces was just an ass with the crotch faced away from us to protect data's modesty lol
i liked the bit about data having an off switch.it is ironically such a human vulnerability. we have those too! it's called head trauma.
ik what i said about picard not being a dick anymore but i noticed he IS still a dick sometimes and it's mostly to either wesley (valid) or data (may he DIE). i was glad data told him not to call lore "it" and that he APOLOGIZED. he should apologize to data more often
lore is literally just a data who is better at masking btw. like thats all it is. he thinks using contractions makes him allistic and he's like ha ha look at me i'm better than you meanwhile he has to use a little laser to remove his own facial tick and his special interest is murdering humans and good for him
one thing i HATED about this ep was once again wesley made a valid point and everyone told him to fuck off. meanwhile whenever hes fucking around they let him do whatever he wants. this is making me CRRRAZY. all this stuff about you would have listened to me if i was an adult!! i'll kill the little brat myself
however the episode was immediately rescued by the appearance of this meme:
youtube
which sent me immediately into screaming hysterics because i was NOT expecting to see it in its original format here. i quite literally had to pause the episode and explain this meme to catherine with tears running down my face
angel one: not as bad as the skip/watch lists led me to believe (i didnt have to play it on 2x speed for example) but still pretty fucking terrible. oh what if WOMEN were in charge wouldnt that be WEIRD AND SCARY? meanwhile the women are wearing what pretends to be "no makeup" in 1987 and theyre super fucking hot
i thought that blonde chick was rthe one from tos's backdoor pilot and even looked it up but no she just moves her face the same way
riker's slut outfit really was something. he was such a good sport about it that i thought it was kind of mean of deanna and tasha to laugh at him but considering how women are treated on this show they deserve to actually. tasha especially.
absolutely bonkers that he tried to turn the head woman down and she slept with him anyway. close encounters of the space babes riker version??? quite literally the man said i'm not an object to be seduced and then he got seduced. wild
anyway, the morals of this were all over the place. they cant remove these people bc theyre not bound by the prime directive but they literally are interfering with this planet's system of laws etc...also the fact that like everyone is arguing for gender equality when the genders are reversed is all well and good when they live in a utopian society where genders are equal but we live and star trek was made in the real world where the genders are NOT equal so it just comes out sounding like but what about the meeeeen?? i mean. what about them?? sorry.
i. HATED. the b-plot of this episode. everyone's like oh no i wonder how this virus spreads! and then they allow worf to stay on the bridge while he does those dad sneezes. maybe this episode should have been before the other to explain data's sudden hyperfixation on learning to sneeze lol. like ik all infectious disease media hits different post pandemic but jesus christ we had more sense than that even BEFORE the pandemic
tonight we do 11001001, and then i'm doing the next FOUR on my own...rough.

phd books of 2024 :
i answered an ask on my other account about dnfs from 2024 and in it i ended up including a bunch of phd stuff which made me wanna write a full list of what i read this yr as well as what i dnfed !
4 short stories by women published in clarion & labour leader: mary's lover, a bit of tragedy, a shop girl and a mystery - whenever i start to engage w socialist women's writing, especially after having read some lit crit on their work im always surprised bc i feel like the life-fullness of them is not articulated at all.... these were pretty interesting & sometimes politically complex!! looking forward to reading more
the first men in the moon by h.g wells - a sci fi novel that is a bit socialist - mostly read this bc i was thinking about what a general sense of 'socialist fiction' might be at the turn of the century
shirley by charlotte bronte - this doesnt really count lol but it is interested in the novel, class struggle, politics & form & luddites even if it is extremely tory lol (but also.... shirley could be a dyke?!)
the story of an african farm by olive schreiner - a rly foundational text/ writer for a lot of utopian socialists so good to have read it, there are parts that are a slog & i dont think i could ever call this feminist, but certainly an interesting novel
the story of a modern woman by ella hepworth dixon - kinda a nightmare but again an interesting novel abt women's roles / work / solidarity / (fraught!!) connection between women of different classes. not totally within my purview bc it isnt socialist but it was serialised in the 1890s so thats somewhat why i picked it up.
aimée furniss, scholar by katharine st john conway - gayest victorian novel i've read in a while, and considering i did read shirley this yr thats saying something ! its not a very good novella tho lol, but it is very explicitly about christian socialism and lke hintonian sexual ethics [so sort of abt free love without being too deep or too radical)
dnfs for now
the poetry of chartism : aesthetics, politics, history by mike sanders - i loved this sm !! but i only read the first two chapters & the intro ofc bc its not directly relevant to my phd but i wanted to read it for the methodology used regarding columns in periodicals. i would love love to come back to this bc its fascinating and rly clever.
the victorian press and the fairytale by caroline sumpter - i read one chapter in this that was rly relevant to my work but the rest is less so, but if i have some space & spoons for it i might return to check into the other stuff
the making of british socialism by mark bevir i also read a few chunks from [maybe two chapters overall? i cant remember]
new women, new novels by ann ardis - i started looking at this bc i was thinking about my critique of the category of 'new woman novel' / 'new woman' but i didnt have time to read all of it now - but will def return when im writing an intro / thinking about contextualising socialist women in their literary landscape
inventions of the present : the novel in its crisis of globalization by frederic jameson - i just like was reading too much to rly get to it.... also not sure id read this all anyway but i thought it sounded interesting and there are some sections that might be better than others
dnfs forever
victorian narrative painting by julia thomas – fine, just not something to bother finishing tbh
im literally still reading / refuse to actually dnf for now the hannam and hunt book socialist women and hunt's solo book equivocal feminists bc i just feel like at any moment i might pick these up and read some more of them lol but that hasnt happened for a wHIle now.
anyway there you go :)

@kata4a said: this is a very confusing dichotomy to me
@ishparpuaqib said:
i used to be what u might call an "anticosmicist", and the conclusion i arrived to b4 accepting the world as it is (more or less) is that life, and not "the world", is basically evil—and that life has been evil at least since the cambrian explosion, when the development of teeth n talons n tongues led directly to perhaps the most obvious source of evil, which is self-interest this is obv not what u mean by "the body" being evil though, which sounds like a basic n v understandable lament against mortality. i adopted an anticosmicist philosophy bc i couldn't get over weaning goats letting the weakest of their rut starve to death if they couldn't fight to enforce their right to the teat. and idk which of the two is more in accordance w traditional gnosticism tbh—maybe both of them though yeah the whole dichotomy seems kind of bizarre to me; would a just god create a world that is so hostile to our bodies?
HMMM this feels very natural to me. i guess to me the idea of being a disembodied pair of eyes with perfect memory (i guess also with the ability to share thoughts and ideas with other) is very natural to me. it feels that the world being the same but with these abstracted bodies would be essentially utopian. but theres no way to make just the world utopian without fixing the body, the way they sicken and die. fixing the body is necessary and sufficient, fixing the world is neither sufficient nor necessary
SHWEP has me thinking about "anti-cosmic" philosophy. this is basically philosophy that regards the world as fundamentally bad, possibly created or run by an evil entity
(this is most famously exemplified by "gnosticism" which is only kind of a real thing. i mean there were people referred to by their enemies as the gnostics. who were interested in gnosis. but we dont know that much about them except form their enemies who were probably squishing together diverse groups. and a lot of the people who were into gnosis werent anticosmic)
ANYWAY i was thinking about this because its absurd to me to claim that the world is bad. the world is achingly good as a series of objects. as a set of things. but as a place to live... well. thats where the anticosmic view makes more sense. but that's not the world, thats the body! the body is clearly bad, in the sense that it needs food and medicine and temperature regulation. this sucks. (i mean. it has good parts. pleasure and stuff. but. come on man. this is clearly fucked. people age and turn to dust) maybe the demiurge DID trap us in these bodies. but the demiurge didnt trap us in this world, this world is so good

Minecraft world building is always interesting!! What are your nether worldbuilding ideas? T
well i do Not feel like giving the entire 4k so i will just talk about my thoughts on the history of the nether bc that is the part that i like best of it
so the nether was canonically not always like that; the soul sand valley might have once been "a habitable paradise full of huge, bygone creatures," the ancient debris is the remains of historical netherite mining by piglins, stuff like that. as such, i decided that i wanted to take what we're given in the game, use that to figure out what the original nether was like, and then go from there to the modern nether.
and me and @bananasofthorns were listening to some of the ambiance tracks for the different nether biomes, and we realized that hey, some of these sound very Hm. like, there's a couple in the basalt deltas that sound a little like laughter, or like war drums. and after listening to literally all of the nether ambiance tracks and tossing ideas back and forth and such, i settled on this idea, under the cut because it's Long:
the nether was originally a much more habitable place, with a lot more biodiversity than exists now. originally, there were four intelligent races, not just piglins, and they were loosely settled into the four biomes which existed at the time- the crimson forests, the nether wastes, the basalt deltas, and the soul sand valleys, though they weren't very wasteland-y or soul sand-y at all, so they were probably called something else.
the soul sand valley was home to a bunch of very powerful mages, as well as the massive beasts which became the fossils. they were probably the most able to use magic of all of the societies, and any overworld enchantments which can be found originated in the nether (like the ones on piglin armor) are actually a completely different form of that enchantment derived from ancient enchanted books from this society; soul speed was essentially reverse-engineered from them. the valleys were probably the most utopian of all the biomes at the time, full of many, many different kinds of flora and fauna.
the basalt deltas, on the other hand, were very hostile even then, with practically nothing living there except for the delta warriors. they were very warlike and probably conquerors, and were the ones who built the nether fortresses for military purposes. they spent decades at war with the valley mages, and while they most definitely had access to some pretty powerful magic it was not to their level of artistry.
there was also a society in the nether wastes, which has been next to forgotten. both the biome and the people were caught in the crossfire between the valley mages and the delta warriors and over a very long period of time, their entire civilization pretty much got wiped out. the land itself is still basically barren, and sometimes unstable.
the fourth, of course, was the piglins of the crimson forests. they didn't get involved with the wars, and managed to avoid getting much damage from the massive amount of fighting. they, and the hoglins, are the only mobs who are still around from this period of time.
the war did, of course, come to a catastrophic end in what i'm calling the cataclysm. the delta warriors gained access to very powerful and very volatile magic. what did they do with it? attempt to smite the valley mages off the face of the earth, of course- a little too effectively.
they did manage to totally wipe out the valley mages, which was their goal! they decimated the mages, as well as literally every other living thing in the biome, their own society, and did a lot of Bad Shit to the environment of the nether as a whole.
because the area and the people were so charged with magic already, the mages weren't just completely killed- instead, they were trapped in the newly-created soul sand, half-alive, with their souls only being released upon the sand being burnt. the valleys are now completely devastated, and you can hear the mages whispering or calling in the distance, sometimes enough to lure an unwary traveler to their death, though this isn't out of malice.
the delta warriors, also killed by the cataclysm, became the wither skeletons and skeletons of the nether. those who were in the valley at the time of the cataclysm became the wither skeletons due to the magic of the area; they spend their eternities protecting the fortresses they built. those who weren't there are the normal skeletons, forever attempting to provide reinforcements for a battle which is long since over.
and the piglins? they were adversely affected by the cataclysm, of course, everything was, and their glory days are past. but they're alive, where the other two are not- despite this extinction-level event, they are still continuing on, essentially the same as they were before. and this continues even through the most major thing that would harm the crimson forests after the cataclysm, that being the introduction of the warped forests.
the warped forests were essentially corruption which crept in just after the cataclysm when the environment was still unsettled; it began to slowly expand, eating away at the crimson forests, and it is also very... weird, as far as the biomes go. it's not really hostile, it won't kill you to enter or anything and there's even some helpful stuff there, but... it is Deeply Wrong. the endermen there are numb and expressionless, like they're sleepwalking. they never really react to stimuli other than being looked in the eye, but sometimes they scream in the distance like they're being tortured.
and, bonus, because i'm not sure whether it's piglin legend or reality but i think it's cool:
each of the biomes has an Entity to it, not quite sentient but enough to have intent, like a manifestation of the ones who used to live there. it's not quite a god, not quite real, but it is there and you can feel it, when you step into its domain.
the basalt delta is a conqueror imprisoned, the warrior who lost. the Entity of the deltas is trapped far beneath the surface, but it is still there, angry and vengeful, straining to get out, and sometimes you can hear it laughing, or the distant echo of the drums of war. the basalt delta is angry. the basalt delta hates you. the basalt delta wants you fucking dead.
the soul sand valleys are asleep. it's not quite dead, nothing with so much power and life could just die like that, but it isn't quite there, either. the valleys are a tragedy of unimaginable scale, and there is murmuring in the distance, never quite close enough to make out.
the nether wastes are dead. they are barren, empty, lifeless; nothing really grows and nothing really lives. the wastes died a long time ago, even before the cataclysm- the only trace of it is in the occasional odd noise, and the way the rock shifts and crumbles at random, unsettled by the fighting which reduced it to nothing.
the crimson forests are the only one left as it was- weaker, tired, but still alive and still awake and still free. the crimson forests do not get involved with wars not their own, do not play with the kind of power that can reduce a civilization to dust. the crimson forest, and its residents, are survivors above all. they will still be there, living, and so will the forests.
the warped forest, on the other hand... the warped forest is not of the nether. the warped forest is a foreigner, come slinking into the gaps left behind and slowly gaining ground, bit by bit. if any of the biomes has a mind, it's this one- the warped forests make odd, terrifying sounds, and the endermen are screaming in the distance or wandering like ghosts, and there is something laughing, low and heavy.
best not to stay too long.

Honestly i think one of the ways the RF "we just have to abolish gender" overused talking point fails badly is that it's so far out there that alot of women will sideeye bc its like saying "oh we just have to abolish money". The but-radical-just-means-root-not-extreme canned response is poor and sidesteps how utopian a lot sound to skeptical women
Not sure why you messaged me, as abolishing gender is not something I really talk about. I haven't looked enough into that subject to have any deep opinion. This concept is not familiar enough to me so that I could be sure if it even applies perfectly to my thinking.
If we're talking about ending the sexist gender roles created by patriarchy, I'm abolishing gender as we speak, starting from myself, examining my own values, deprogramming what I've learned growing up. Is it so far out there? Start with yourself. Other women will see.
Will I see a world where gender is abolished? No. It won't happen in my lifetime. I'm not even sure I know how it would look like. But every step to the direction where women realize they don't have to comply is a step towards freedom.
The ideas that were totally out there to my grandmother's grandmother are now normal. She couldn't have even imagined my freedom. Live to make your granddaughter's granddaughter proud.

Like at the end of the day I think it should just be understood, aside from the linguistic nuances I mentioned, that some black & brown ppl absolutely do not want to hear (with respectful allowance/exemption to disabled ppl) white leftists saying ‘abolish capitalism bc I don’t want to do anything’
I’m not saying that’s exactly what’s being said or meant, but at times it is a palpable sentiment, and as the people who’ve labored unfairly against their will to build the systems of shit you enjoy we absolutely bristle to hear ppl who seem to imagine they can have all of this comfort but like, don’t want to make any effort. It can start to sound like privilege and utopianism that lacks touch with the reality of our lived experiences irt things like food/land relationship, home economy and goods, etc.
does that make sense?

hey for the prompts thing, maybe artemy's children and daniil? Also if you wanna stretch your utopian characters writing muscles, something with peter and grace(artemy helping him parent her, since the man was ready to feed her worms)? eva and daniil in the friendship way?? idk, something of that sort. I love your work, you have a delightful grasp of the characters and the english language itself
this isn't my best bc i've just been practicing writing to keep that skill strong, but i decided to do a little of all three :)
-----
“Please, Eva, you have to help me.”
Eva tilts her head at Daniil, her long blonde hair cascading over her shoulder. Daniil knows she’s not that dense; it’s not the with what question, but the why. “Really, Daniil. I think you have a handle on things as it is.”
He absolutely does not have a handle on things. He is in way out of his depth. Over his head. However the saying goes - what’s been expected is far beyond him. Cats, he can watch over easily. They’re mostly self-sufficient, independent, but children? Daniil does not know the first thing about children.
“Humor me, then,” he says. Eva ducks her head, struggling to hide a smile. “Pretend for a moment that I don’t have a handle on things. How am I meant to keep children entertained?”
“Ah, I would think you would remember what it was like to be a child!” Daniil only scowls at the floor, shuffling his feet. “You remember how you wanted to be treated, don’t you? It’s not that different from now. You treat them with respect.”
“I know how to talk to children,” he says, and hopes he isn’t lying, “but how do I keep them entertained?”
“It’s only for a few hours. I think you’re worrying over nothing.” Daniil looks over his shoulder. They’re already seated at Eva’s piano, fingers toying with the keys. Every once in a while they will make contact, a soft plonk as a flat note plays in the open space, accompanied by a giggle. “Besides, Artemy left you in charge, not me. He trusts you.”
“He trusts everyone.” It sounds like more of a complaint than it’s really meant. The haruspex’s undying faith in others is admirable, really. Burakh’s favor is probably the only thing that’s kept the town’s inhabitants from running Daniil out into the steppe. But in this one occasion, that faith seems misplaced. “I should have said no.”
“So why didn’t you?”
Daniil has no answer. Or at least, he has no good answer. Judging by the smile creeping its way onto her face, Eva knows the only one he has. He tries to fan away her concern, and is met with her soft laughter, like the tinkling of glass. “Anyway, I’d feel much safer if you were here to help me.”
“Safer? Daniil, they’re just kids. You’ve done much more dangerous things in the time you’ve been here.” Daniil purses his lips, and Eva sighs. “I’ll help you, on one condition!”
“Name it.”
“Yulia.” Eva huffs, fiddling with her gloves. “I’ve invited her over to dinner, but she hasn’t sent her response. I think she’s nervous about seeing the Stamatins again - tell her they won’t be coming if it makes her so upset! Whatever you have to say, just make sure she agrees. I’ve been dying to see her.”
Much as he’d rather not get involved in anyone else’s affairs, he is sort of desperate here. Yulia can be difficult to convince when her mind is made up on something - impossible, even, he’d say - but he knows how fond the two women are of each other, and maybe his assurance that Andrey will be otherwise occupied will be enough. And really, all he has to do is try. “Fine,” he says, and Eva squeezes his arm in excitement before turning to the kids in the sitting room.
“I see you’ve found the piano. Would you like me to teach you a few scales?”
-
When Artemy agreed to help Peter prepare for Grace’s visit, he had no idea what it was he was signing up for. He’d thought an hour or so - enough time to leave his kids with Daniil and see how they fared together without overwhelming the other man. But it’s been two and a half hours now, and Peter doesn’t seem to be any closer to grasping the basics.
“You need milk, Peter. And eggs. Basic food items.” He stops just short of asking if the man is even aware of what constitutes food. He can’t be certain that the man even eats. He’s malnourished for someone of his height, and from what Artemy can tell his main consumption is twyrine. And that won’t be good for poor Grace.
That’s the main reason Artemy’s stayed so long. He wants to get back to his kids, to spend time with Daniil before the man returns to his work, but he worries about how Grace will fare here when Peter can’t seem to grasp the importance of a clean cooking surface and fresh ingredients. “Forgive me, old boy. It’s been so long since I have sought these things out for myself.”
Artemy tries not to groan. That’s about what he’d figured, and it’s not exactly what he’d call promising.
At least the apartment is looking marginally nicer. There’s space enough for them to walk around in, the empty bottles of twyrine have been discarded and the couch has been cleared of its debris. It’s not much, but it’s a start, and Artemy can appreciate how difficult even this was for the architect.
But it’s still not quite enough. Grace will be over within the hour, and Artemy’s not sure how much more help he can be to the man.
Before he can suggest they hold Grace’s visit off another day, a knock comes at the door and the girl herself enters. She doesn’t look quite sure of herself, her fists curled tight around the fabric of her dress, her eyes cast down; but she enters all the same, and stands just outside the door, waiting.
Artemy is the first to address her. “Grace.” He nudges Peter with his foot under the table. “It’s good to see you.”
Peter looks at Artemy, solemn, and follows his lead. “Welcome, girl.” There’s an awkward pause, and Artemy kicks his shin again. Peter stares at the table. “Come in from the door. There’s room for you by the couch.”
Grace smiles shyly and tucks her hands behind her back as she enters. Her eyes widen, taking in the apartment as if seeing it for the first time. And since Peter doesn’t seem to clean regularly, she very well could be.
“What happened to your paintings?” she asks, her voice quiet.
“I’ve moved them.” Artemy is preparing himself to nudge Peter once again, but this is something he’s more well-acquainted with. He’s slow to stand, one hand on the table to steady himself, and makes his way to what passes for a bedspace in this loft. Artemy watches from the table, chewing his lip, as Peter presents a painting to her.
At least it’s one of the more appropriate ones, though there’s something frightening about the splashes of paint. He’s no art critic, and he won’t pretend to understand, but there’s something very angry about this painting. Artemy wonders how obvious it is to Grace, who hasn’t seen much outside of the graveyard. He can’t imagine there’s much experimental art in the Saburov’s house.
A sudden pang hits him, watching the two interact. He may be frustrated with Peter, but it’s obvious the man is trying his hardest. It’s just been too long since he’s even taken care of himself, that of course it will take a while before he’s able to take care of another person. And Grace has such different needs that Artemy’s unsure the Saburovs will be able to meet. The way they talk to each other, he can sense an understanding between them, even when they’re not talking about exactly the same thing.
He’s going to wind up regretting this, for sure. He didn’t mean to leave his kids with Daniil for so long, but he can’t just give up here.
“It’s about time for lunch,” Artemy says. The two turn to look at him with matching looks of surprise. “Why don’t I show you how to cook something?”
-
Artemy dropped his children off around ten. Daniil expected him back around noon. He doesn’t mind making food for the children, except - well, he’s not the one doing it. Eva caught him attempting to make some excuses to head into the kitchen and beat him to it. “Don’t worry about it,” she said, with a look in her eyes Daniil found almost threatening, “I can handle it. You stay in here and get acquainted.”
“We’re already acquainted,” Daniil pointed out, but it didn’t matter much. Eva was determined to ignore him, making her way out of the room and leaving Daniil with two bored kids.
Murky had moved on from the piano some time ago, laying on the floor with charcoals and sketch paper Peter had left out the last time he’d come to visit. She didn’t ask for permission, but if Eva wasn’t going to tell her off then neither was Daniil. He can’t imagine Peter minding much or even remembering he’d brought the items with him, and as long as it’s keeping the girl occupied Daniil doesn’t have it in him to complain. Sticky, on the other hand, has taken to snooping around the house.
“Looking for something?” Daniil asks, watching him open up an end table drawer.
Sticky shrugs. “Not particularly.” He closes the drawer with a little more force than necessary and turns his gaze to the staircase, his eyebrows near to his hairline. “What’s up there?”
“My room.”
“Can I see it?” The sudden excitement catches him off guard. Daniil fiddles with his gloves. “You have a microscope, right? I’ve never used one. I know Rubin has one, but he won’t let me see it. Do you have slides? Can you show me something? Can you show me blood?”
“One question at a time,” Daniil says, huffing with amusement. Maybe this isn’t so bad. I was the same at his age. “I suppose you can come upstairs and see it, yes. I do have a few clean slides, yes, but I don’t have any samples lying around. I suppose I can come up with something, but…” he turns to look at Murky.
“She’ll be fine,” Sticky assures him. “It’s not like we’re going far, right?” He turns to his sister. “Murky, we’re going upstairs.”
She pauses in her drawing, looking at Sticky before her eyes turn away. “Do I have to come with you?”
“I don’t suppose you have to, no,” Daniil answers. “But if you need anything, you can come up and get us, alright, dear?” She doesn’t seem all that comfortable with the term, her mouth turning into a little scowl. She doesn’t answer, either, going back to her drawing as if no interruption had occurred.
Daniil leads Sticky up the stairs, listening to his babbling about the things he’s managed to glean from listening to Artemy and attempting to follow in his footsteps, from his discussions with Rubin when the man’s come to visit. Once they’re upstairs, he wanders around the room, picking up Daniil’s books and looking at them carefully, trying to pronounce the words aloud to himself. Daniil takes his distraction as a time to prick himself for a blood sample, readying the slide and pulling the chair back out from the table.
He clears his throat, and Sticky spins around, nearly dropping the heavy tome in his hands. “You wanted to see a blood sample, yes?” Sticky nods, scrambling his way over to the desk. Daniil has to guide him in how to use the microscope, in how to get a clearer picture of what he’s looking at. And Sticky has plenty of questions for him about what he sees, about how blood works in the body, about cells and warmth and movement.
As he’s speaking, Daniil simply forgets to be nervous. It’s not all that different to lectures - and to have someone honestly listening to him is actually quite nice. He’s so engrossed in directing Sticky that he doesn’t notice when Murky joins them. When she speaks, it startles him. “Why do you have a bunch of grass in a jar?” Sticky stifles a laugh as Daniil nearly jumps, moving around to the bookshelf where Murky is on her toes, peering at a glass jar. “They’re not even the right herbs. You can’t make anything out of that.”
“It’s not all grass. Take a closer look.” Daniil takes the jar off the shelf and holds it out for her to better see it. He watches her squint, and directs his finger about halfway up the jar. “Do you see the eyes here? This is a conehead grasshopper.”
Her eyes widen. “You keep a bug in a jar?”
“Well, I’d like to get a terrarium eventually, but you don’t seem to have any in town. I’d have to order one from the Capital.” He pauses. People usually find his collection of insects strange, but Murky seems fascinated. “I have books on insects, if you would like to…” Can she read? “Take a look?” Murky nods, and Daniil takes the jar back, looking through the bookshelf for the guide he’d brought with him.
Sticky’s not particularly interested in the bugs, but he entertains himself looking through Daniil’s medical textbooks while Daniil reads passages off of the insects Murky points to. When Eva comes to get them for lunch, he has to agree to bring the book downstairs with him to get her to go.
“Dad won’t let me keep bugs,” she mumbles around her food. “Says they don’t belong in the house.”
“My mother felt the same,” Daniil tells her. It feels strange to admit it, when it’s been so long since he’s spoken of his parents to anybody. Murky turns the pages of his field guide very carefully, silent as Sticky speaks up to ask him more questions about blood flow and circulation.
Now that he’s found ways of connecting with the kids, communication isn’t nearly as difficult as he’d thought it would be. He feels a little silly for winding himself up the way he had this morning - and these are Artemy’s kids, why had he imagined they’d be such a handful? Sure, they’re precocious, but not any worse than the other children in town.
They’ve just made their way back into the main room when the door to the Stillwater opens and Artemy appears. He looks exhausted, and Daniil can’t help but feel a twinge of guilt. He knows what dealing with the Stamatins can be like, especially given how poorly Peter takes care of himself. He can’t begin to imagine what took Artemy so long, but things must have been pretty bad if it took him such a long time.
Artemy offers Daniil a small smile. “Thanks for looking after them, emshen.”
“It was my pleasure,” Daniil says, and he finds that for once it’s not simply a nicety. “They’re wonderful children, Artemy. Clearly you’re doing a fantastic job in raising them.”
“Truth be told, they raised themselves.” His smile is fond, turning from Daniil to his kids. “You guys ready to go?”
Murky looks up from her drawing - a new one, an attempt to freehand an illustration of a phasmid from Daniil’s field guide. She still has a slight frown on her face as she looks up at her father. “Now? Bachelor was going to show me how to catch insects with a net,” she tells him.
Artemy looks back at Daniil with some surprise on his face. Daniil can feel himself flushing as he tries to look anywhere but at Artemy. “Why don’t you come another day, Murky? It’ll give me time to get a second net.”
“I’ll be ready to go in a minute,” Sticky pipes up. “I just gotta finish -”
“Oh, you can borrow the book,” Daniil says, waving his hand. “Don’t mind the markings I left in it from school. And if you have any questions, well - you know where to find me.”

same i used to be hal stan acc and followed you years back but now idc abt hal anymore. no matter what i say to fandom or dc, it never changes. tired of protecting and explaining so i left dc fandom but found inner peace ive been seeking
its a bit of a warzone bc u have all of this legacy characters competing for the limelight and their own comic issue or their own event or their own cartoon ... in fandoms eyes, if one robin gets a comic and the other doesnt that means that robin won some sort of competition and its seen as taking resources from other robins. the same goes for green lanterns, flashes etc etc. people dont seem to realize that one robin doesnt get the issue bc hes more interesting or whatever, the character that sells best at the moment gets the comic series. its all a business venture in a comic book market where sales of actual physical copies is generated by collectors and speculators who hope that, idk, TIM DRAKE #1 (2022) is gonna one day earn them thousands of dollars on ebay
some characters generate more profit than others and usually those characters are white men, often with an additional dash of nostalgia. this is why hal usually gets more exposure than jon. betting on a white guy comic is safer than investing in a series with characters of color. this is why hal is featured more often than other lanterns and it has nothing to do with his actual qualities or characterization. hal is not a person, hal is a fictional creation with many different authors behind him. hal is a brand, just like superman or batman is. all green lanterns are brands. hals just more established than other green lanterns are, he has more toys or keychains.
a lot of fandom spaces live in this utopian state of mind where they hope that the characteristics they see in their faves are enough to guarantee them future exposure. that if they like a character it means theyre good and they deserve more spotlight and if they dont get it, it means someone else took it from them. if hal gets a comic and kyle doesn't, that means hal took something away from kyle. this is not the case , there is no talent show that makes DC invest in some characters more than others. its just pure profit calculations. the fact that hal is a white guy with a military background is even more infuriating because it seems like a privileged person is using their status to get more exposure. and its true, he is more frequently featured because he is the same race as people who draw him, people who write stories for him. but hes not a real person and calling him stupid doesnt change anything. nor does it change the fact that there are years of artistic effort behind him, even if it was done in service of selling a product and only occasionally telling a message.
this is a longwinded way of saying that, dc fandom's obsession with discussing which character has more MERIT, should be FEATURED MORE focuses on the wrong thing. i think the intentions are good, we should always strive for more lgbt representation or more characters of color with their own focused stories. but its never some character's fault that they get a comic and the other doesn't. its the industry and the comic market's fault and id like to tell you that if you just support the right comic with all the right moral representation it will all be alright but comics are SUCH a fucked industry that its not even the case. i guess this sounds bleak but it also puts things in perspective. theres no use getting mad at an industry that is basically a house of cards threatening to collapse every few months.

hey james utopians im so bored please give me a legally ambiguous and slightly dangerous adventure please urgent (its the adhd)
OH MAN UH. hope it's nighttime where you are bc these are mostly nighttime activities. none of em are wildly exciting but I can't advocate for anything genuinely risky here with a clean conscience too many young teens following me
find a local public school and climb up on the roof. make sure there's a way to get back down afterwards and double check there's no janitors around bc from experience that's the most awkward confrontation you're ever going to have
if you can drive get yourself to the closest golf course and hop the fence I can't express how magical it is to wander a golf course at night they're so much bigger than they look from the outside
just setting old papers on fire can be cathartic it becomes legally dubious if you do it in a place you do not own. be real careful with this one but like a big parking lot should be safe enough if there's no wind. be prepared to Get Out Of There don't set anything you can't put out in a matter of seconds I had to jump a fence to avoid confrontation the first and only time I did this
randonautica is an app that generates a random point to walk or drive to? not legally dubious but it can be a good time to just wander around if you're feelin aimless
once again not legally dubious but my friend dex recommends going out and trying 2 catch animals which sounds like an absolute blast. maybe not as prudent in the winter but you never know!

OK so call me delusional but ever since the chapter with Skull Knight's memories came out, I've always wondered if the woman was meant to parallel both Casca and Griffith. I don't think it's too farfetched since Griffith has heavy parallels with both Void and Gaiseric/SK in this current iteration of the causality "spiral" that Flora talked about. The way I came to this conclusion was after reading a thread on twitter with some really solid evidence that the woman in the armor's memories (1/5)
(the cherry blossom priestess who Flora was said to have worked for) was actually Dannan. The story kind of alludes to this when Dannan gifts Farnese her old castoff cherry blossom mage robes. Anyway, when 362 was released there were countless comments about how they legit thought SK was holding Griffith lol. And it isn't that hard to see why, bc in that first panel she certainly had a look evocative of Griffith with her fair curly hair and her chiton's white cape resembling his. (2/5)
Upon further observation, it seems that her hair from the back view was purposefully flattened, bc it has a significantly more rounded silhouette from the front (when her face is revealed). Which kinda makes me think the psych-out was intentional? Furthermore, that makes the similarities between Dannan and Griffith potentially more significant. Both are powerful rulers of a near-utopian kingdom that features a giant spirit tree as its center (one a haven for elves, the other for humans) (3/5)
And if Dannan's body is buried under the triskele stone in the giant tree, it probably means she went through some kind of transformation or rebirth that allowed her spirit to survive beyond her corporeal body - possibly what the "phase of the moon" motif on her jewelry hints at. Which is a motif also heavily associated with Griff, who also went through a few reincarnations of his own. (This could also be connected to the taboo Flora violated if she was also close to Dannan)(4/5)
I think Dannan being the woman would've still tied in nicely with your Berserk endgame theory since she would be doing this out of revenge for Void/GH and to protect Elfhelm from Griffith. She was/still is an augur, right? Perhaps she had some idea of Griffith's ultimate plans. ANYWAY, we'll probably never know now but I'm almost certain that Miura was planning on mirroring the image of SK catching the woman and future Guts catching NeoGriffith. (5/5)
That’s really interesting, and tbh this sounds pretty plausible to me. I would love for the Griffith lookalike thing in that panel to be intentional - well honestly, even if it’s meaningless I still think it’s intentional in that Miura wanted to draw a giant Berserk-armoured hand holding a figure with long curly blond hair and a cape lol - but it would be cool if it was the first half of a future parallel.
And I’d never considered drawing parallels between Danann and NeoGriff wrt their positions as rulers of magical kingdoms but that’s a rly good point.
Do you happen to have a link to that twitter thread btw? I don’t remember a lot of these Elfhelm details (like Danann’s has a body buried under the tree? I did not realize that lol) so I’m curious about their theory and the evidence for it too.

Okay so I live in the US and all my friends are very much leftist but I have two who say they identify as communists. My mom is from Russia and grew up under USSR rule and the things she has told me about her childhood have really shaken me at times. But I don’t know how to tell my friends that communism is bad because whenever we talk politics they get really loud and just call everyone fascist if we argue.
okay first of all i didn’t know u could identify urself as a political view? i mean u can be part of a political group but making it ur identity??? wild (usa politics scare me)
okay now for real i wanna say that agreeing with communist ideology and seeing it as a good idea is not bad. Like i myself always thought that communism sounds amazing in theory but will never work in practice. So ur friends agreeing with communist ideas is not bad at all. But it’s important to acknowledge that it’s just that, a good idea.
from my pov it seems like the gen z are being really into the idea of communism and i have a theory why it is. A) First we remember that when the communist revolution started it was the young people who were most eager go join, they were tired of the old ways of society and craved change. B) we have entered a generation that was born after the collapse of ussr and who have never really seen the aftermath that had, they only might read about it in history books. and bc it was 30 years ago it’s not discussed (in the west) anymore and countries that still have communism are pushed to the side and turned a blind eye to basically bc “if it doesn’t concern the west we dont care uwu”. So gen z haven’t been exposed to the actual issues communism have
ever since i learned about communism (and it was early bc i live in finland and that was hammered into our heads) i loved the idea of it, but understood the burden it carries. As long as people are greedy and selfish by nature it won’t work. There are always those who will see themselves above everyone and manipulate their way on top. like i said in a utopian world communism may exist and people may live in peace with it but won’t be in our lifetime
as to what to say to your friends: just that they know that it’s okay to like the idea but it’s important to understand that it won’t work in practice.. look into post-communism countries, look into current communist countries, look into history bc humans tend to repeat that... and maybe have ur mom tell ur friends her experiences
all the love ➖

2 10 n 11 :)
this is basically an essay im so sorry. watch how hard i can infodump (ill put this under a cut hopefully it works bc sometimes tumblr decimates the keep reading things if theyre in asks)
2. Who’s your favorite of the Bound? What do you think of the different ideologies they have? Which of the factions are you most aligned with?
WE ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER I AM A PETER LOVER THROUGH AND THROUGH!!!!!! oh baby i love that morally questionable architect. pretty early on in getting into pathologic (it’s coming up on a year now...) i thought about peter stamatin too hard and now i’m here. but really i find him to be such a fascinating character!
the thing about pathologic that i love is how almost every character can be as complex as you want. pathologic does an excellent job of implying a lot of character traits while only exploring some in further detail, which in some games is frustrating but patho does it so well! it consistently hints at traits and lets you fill in the details yourself. peter’s character is extremely interesting to me... and maybe a little more relatable at times than i want to admit lol.
i think i’ll talk about both stamatins though! their dynamic hurts me a lot. i’ll start with andrey bc i’ve been thinking about him lately. although i’ll bounce back and forth between both stamatins.
i’ve said this before but i’ll say it again.... andrey’s role as a protector who inadvertently hurts the people he cares about really gets to me. he is not a shield but, in his own words, a battering ram. and the problem is that battering ram has a recoil.
i have to wonder how that mentality of his came about, anyways. the implication is that it’s always just been him and peter, so did he take on that role because there wasn’t anyone else to do it?
in his efforts to protect peter from... military, i believe, he kills four people. which leads to daniil getting mistaken for andrey, which leads to daniil getting shot. and almost dying. he protects peter but to a smothering extent, peter even says he’s been suffering for ten years bc of andrey which is a LOADED line. he protects on a physical level but he kinda fucks up on the emotional.
there’s a horrible irony in peter and eva being the people he cares about the most and both attempting suicide. with eva once she’s missing he immediately goes running off trying to look for her, and . ahh i can’t remember right off hand what exactly he thought happened. but ik he was probably expecting a fight. with peter he says that after that he’ll never let peter leave his side, at least “as far as his knife can fly”... it sounds cheesy but the one thing he can’t save anyone from is themself.
and god the way andrey bases his ENTIRE sense of self worth on peter fucking hurts. they’re not peter and andrey, the architects. they’re Peter And Andrey, The Architect. (thinking about “one architect, two brothers” here.) andrey thinks he’s larger than life and all but he’s constantly living in peter’s shadow. their theatre of death positions come to mind here, with peter standing up, looking down at andrey. but andrey is on his knees in front of peter, arms limp to his sides.... separated by a wooden beam...
peter’s side of this dynamic is fascinating too. his dependency on andrey is. ow. leaving all practical matters and decision making to him... there’s this resentment (That’s Fine I’ve Been Suffering For Ten Years Because Of Him) and lack of communication that especially shows through for him.
while in p2 andrey completely crumbles if peter dies, peter doesn’t seem to care...... at all....?? which hopefully is elaborated upon in p2. he’s willing to talk to aspity about worrying if andrey is angry with him but he can’t bring it up with andrey himself. when he asks how andrey is doing he stops and says andrey is a “tough man” and can handle anything. in general, while it’s definitely there for andrey, themes of dependency are really glaringly obvious for peter.
one of my favorite peter things i’ve talked about before is still his ego!!! peter has a gigantic ego!!! he really does think that even though he’s hit the ceiling and can’t go any further he is still “a true architect” and “the rock upon which is built the stairway to tomorrow”. he has a blunt edge to him and he doesn’t ever tell you more than he thinks he needs to which i love. if he doesn’t want to tell you something he isn’t gonna do it. this is a character trait i think ppl miss which is sad because it’s so good and adds another layer of depth to him!
it really does hurt me how he’s valued for his mind alone (AHEM AHEM AHEM. GEORGIY) but it’s the thing nobody understands about him. i’m nowhere near as smart as peter lol but i do know that pain of feeling like none of your ideas can be understood because you just can’t express them the way you’d like, and then feeling like you’ll never be able to make it happen.
also, here’s a little thing  i’ve picked up on. this connection probably doesn’t exist but i’m making it because the stamatins make me lose my mind and start becoming one of those people who looks for connections in everything i guess. peter standing in the theatre of death, andrey below him. peter’s loft being at a high point in the town, the broken heart being underground. peter’s loft is also higher north on the map but the broken heart is lower south. just smth interesting
i have more thoughts on them of course! but this is all getting awfully long. i feel like i’ve only just gotten to the tip of the iceberg  even though i’ve written so much skfjskfjs this just feels quite surface level or. at least what is surface level for me who thinks about the stamatins so hard.
anyways i’ll keep my answers to the other two parts of this question quick! peter and andrey’s more creative vs practical mindsets are rly neat. especially because i would actually argue peter is a little more grounded in reality in certain aspects. not all, but certain ones...... their take on the utopian ideology is interesting. hot take: peter’s version of utopianism leans a tad towards humility. and andrey /does/ feel “straightforward utopian” but i think in certain regards? this man has a bit of a termite streak..... (hi al if you’re reading this). but i won’t get into that right now i’ve already gone on so long. saving that for later.
i think all of the factions kinda suck in their own way sometimes, honestly? although all of them are well written and have their pros and cons. were i in pathologic and i had to choose one i’d probably be a termite but everyone around me seems to think i’m a utopian. is it bc i love peter so much
10. What would you be like as a Pathologic character?
this question is a hard one! i did make a self insert once, mile-a-minute, but they’ve become their own oc by now. i think i’d be very...... very afraid...... probably isolating myself why does every pathologic character break quarantine???? also you could trade beetles with me :) thats about all i’ve got sorry this is real short
11. What is something you would change, writing-wise, about either game?
UGH i’ve been gushing about pathologic because. obviously i love this game so much. but the way it handles racism & such (in both games!) leaves much to be desired :/
i see a lot of the points it’s trying to make but i think the way they’re handled can be very messy. there are moments that work very well but. a lot that don’t. (i am aware that dybowski writes partially from his own experiences)
all too often the game “validates” the kin’s oppression and... at times paints them as oddly antagonistic? i don’t like how often as artemy you’re able to be like “i’m not one of those beasts” and i think there are better ways to touch on his internalized racism. in general the constant comparisons to animals is weird. you get big vlad who is obviously explicitly racist comparing them to animals, but then sometimes it’s like “ACTUALLY calling them animals is fine :)”
i think the herb brides are kind of. Hm. in their portrayal. also using parts of the buryat alphabet to denote an accent is weird. making odongh and herb brides inhuman is weird. connecting the kin to Magic is weird.
and, listen, i’d really like to not be playing Artemy Burakh Experiences a Microaggression Simulator every time i’m playing the haruspex route. hate that you either can’t call ppl out on their shit or if you can it ends the conversation/bars you from getting necessary information. glad you at least get to drag the vlads, i guess?
i also was talking about this but wrt peter specifically, and this issue is present throughout the game but it’s especially visible with peter, i don’t like how often you can mock him for his addiction.
he’s obviously in an extremely rough patch! being able to be just so plain cruel to him about the dependency on alcohol (and iirc in p1 hallucinogens, bc aglaya mentions it) he’s formed to cope with his mental illness & trauma just feels bad. especially because yes it is not a healthy coping mechanism at all but... it still is a coping mechanism, if that makes sense?
the way you’re able to constantly rub it in his face feels awful. peter is fully aware that it isn’t good for him and shows a desire to quit. even if he didn’t it would still be awful to say because. it’s just insensitive. like you don’t just go up to someone and keep being like HEY YOU DRINK A LOT YOU SHOULD STOP DOING THAT DO YOU KNOW WHAT WATER IS? feels really bad to keep harping on something that causes him pain and that he struggles with every single day.
however peter does have moments where he tells you Not to say that, or if you pry into why he drinks he’ll outright say he doesn’t remember you being his friend, which is better than nothing.
in p1 moreso than p2 i hate how you can be like oh he’s craaaazy he’s off his rocker he’s delusional!!!! that “why, i never... an architect of schizophrenia!” comment sticks in my mind because it’s just... so genuinely mean. especially because if i remember correctly that line is from when he’s planning on LITERALLY FUCKING BURNING HIMSELF ALIVE
i think if they were going to have all of this they should have gone more in depth on how it’s really. not good that he’s treated so poorly. and i do believe that’s what they were going for, a la the art book w/ the whole “not to be made into a drunken clown, this is a tragic character”, etc. but it just doesn’t land. i’m holding out for the bachelor and changeling routes in p2 to see if they expand upon any of it but i highly doubt i’ll be satisfied in this regard.
i stand by the One time it was really fucking funny to clown on peter being the time you can tell him little girls eat raspberries and earthworms and he just believes you

Hi you're such a nice person!! I saw you like Icarus so my que was can you make a post of Z's IF and its connection to Icarus or like how Z is alluding to being Icarus in life or his art/music or what you interpret Icarus interlude or FOTS as, anything will be fine, I hope my Q is not too confusing. Bye!! have nice day/night!!!
hi! i already have a bunch of misc posts talking abt zayn as icarus (if u just search icarus on my blog u should find them, i think this one is pretty good 2 start w) i’m gonna put the rest of this under the cut bc i don’t wanna spam ppl’s dashes lmao
i think in general if is just like... a love story & how u end up sabotaging ur own relationship thru ur faults. the first half is him falling in love + being super dedicated and basically using these huge metaphors to make his relationship seem otherworldly (i’ll follow u into the flames - fots / i’ve seen ur face in different times and places - talk to me / there ain’t nothing common abt us - common and etc). but obv the interlude represents a transition away from that love story and turns the lens 2 him and his internal problems, which leads to the deterioration of both his mental state + the relationship (it’s also important 2 note that the line repeated here is “i’ve been lying to the liars” - going back 2 truth / lucozade / that entire theme from mind of mine). that means the downfall from this sort of utopian relationship was the lies + internal struggles highlighted in the interlude, he pretty clearly compares his lover to the sun throughout the entire album and the interlude makes clear that the dedication of that love + the pride they had in thinking they wouldn’t fall is what ended up hurting them in the end.
the second half of the album surprisingly... does not sound that much like a breakup album, which is interesting bc u wld think that if the first half was a love story, the 2nd half would be more on the end of the relationship. but i think he does more introspection in the 2nd half (songs like insomnia, satisfaction, good years, etc) and discusses more the hardships he’s gone thru and the things that he still has to deal w rather than actually writing about a breakup. that’s what i mean when i say the fall isn’t necessarily a breakup or the end of the love story detailed in the first half of the album, it’s more of an introspective look at why he feels like he can’t make the relationship work bc of the reasons he lists.
this is also rly interesting when u look at the songs he’s released since (flames & better) bc flames... has a pretty strong connection to icarus burning and better builds off of that. both songs have this super strong u gotta leave before u get left theme (i’m shamelessly stealing that from idsb by taylor LOL) and further this whole idea of “i’m not good for u for xyz reasons” that’s basically the 2nd half of if, which makes me rly curious 2 see if z3 will build off of the end of if.
this is already insanely long but ig in summary, the first half of if alludes to icarus flying closer to the sun, falling in love, etc and the second half is his fall, realizing why he fucked up, thinking abt everything that’s gotten him to this point, and being rly wary of future relationships.

kato is real when she makes a racist comment but she’s not real when yall decide to hate on her. that’s fucked up man, even after what she said. hating is just never okay.
idk what idealistic ass utopian planet you’re living on but...... “hating is just never okay”.................. listen, i didn’t even wanna respond to this bc i think it’s one of the most naive and ignorant things i’ve ever been sent, but. you know what... i just hope you aren’t going around to fans that are poc and putting this stupid shit so i’m gonna answer so you can stop. kato ISN’T real when she’s racist, you’re just falsely equating a whole bunch of shit in your mind here and i can’t even begin to describe how stupid this sounds, i really can’t fjkldsjfklsd. racism exists and wtfock aren’t using a story incorporating it in any meaningful way.... it looks like it’s going to be cliche as fuck, every white privilege redemption arc known to man. racism is also an issue that is systemic and detrimental to TONS of the fucking population on this earth. cyberbullying, however bad and mean and awful on an individual scale for some people, is no where NEAR as important or pertinent and honestly? it never will be. the internet hasn’t existed long enough for you to be acting like this. hate accomplishes many things when put toward the right outlet, and i gotta tell you.. maybe you need to look internally at your priorities if you’re finding that this whole mean ig comments thing bothers you more than kato’s comment and the fact that that happens IN REAL LIFE. ALL THE TIME. TO REAL PEOPLE.
