i want you to know that i haven’t been ignoring this i’ve really been pondering it in my free time and i’ve come to the conclusion that jin really isn’t a classically romantic guy like really not much of a sweet talker at all but he has his moments one of which was when he wrote this

it took me a solid 2 weeks of this running through my brain on loop after this dropped for me to stop hyperfixating on it but i still go back to it like quarterly and think about it

 He misses the sea, sometimes. 

He misses the refracting light and the weightlessness and the bubbles. He aches for the days he could swim, for miles and miles and miles, without getting tired. He misses the way his hair would move in the water, the way it felt to lay in the sun to dry off, the warmth that came with it all. 

Seokjin wraps his sweater more tightly around his torso and forces the thoughts away. Remembering gets him nowhere, he scolds himself. This is his life, now and forever, and he’s got to accept that if he wants to survive long enough to see the sea once more. He can do this. He’s strong enough for this.

The chill of the winter air is strong, too; it seeps into his bones and roots in them, lingering long after he’s made his way inside the studio. Giho is already there, berating some poor girl for her outfit choice. When he sees Seokjin he stops, waving at the intern. She runs out without even looking up. 

“You’re late,” Giho says with a sneer. They both glance at the clock on the wall. 11:55.

“You said noon,” Seokjin responds. His tone is neutral, a carefully constructed skill that has saved his life many times over the years. 

Giho tsks, likely because he can’t outright smack Seokjin with so many people around. Still, Seokjin can feel the old man’s eyes on him as he strips out of his clothes. 

The cold is prominent against his naked skin, and it doesn’t ebb as he slides the new clothes on. Giho is already yelling again, at the stylist this time, and it’s a familiar background noise. It’s still going on when he gets on the set, face in the perfect mask that everyone seems to love. 

The photographer barely needs to direct him; he and Taehyung have worked together for months now, and it only gets easier. Tae knows his best angles, his best lighting, how to highlight the cold expression he wears in shoots so the audience can interpret it their own way. 

Seokjin doesn’t know where Giho found this kid, but Tae is lucky the old bastard can’t keep him.

“To the left,” Tae mutters, and Seokjin does so without a word. 

The hours pass quickly. Between outfit changes and makeup retouches and actually shooting, the day flies. Before he even knows it, the clock is striking ten, and everyone is packing up. 

Jin changes quickly back into his sweater, the ever-colder air chilling him once more. Giho is off to the side with Taehyung and the Artistic Director, Hoseok, all three of them conversing quietly as they look at the photos from today. There’s no need for Seokjin to look; he knows how he did because Giho’s hands are kept to themselves. 

Checking again that they’re all suitably distracted, Seokjin turns to leave. He promptly stops, because he runs almost directly into someone coming through the door. Hands dart up to catch him, big and strong and warm as they wrap around his elbows for a second longer than they should, and there’s a muttered “Sorry,” from the guy in front of him. 

“Careful, hyung,” Taehyung’s voice calls. “Don’t damage the moneymaker.”

Seokjin’s eyes meet the man’s - a warm brown, one that reminds him of chocolate and muddy snow and love - before he physically pulls himself away. He doesn’t have to look at Giho to know what he’s thinking, what his paranoia is telling him about, and Seokjin needs to be able to eat tonight.

“It’s fine,” Seokjin says in the same unaffected voice he always uses around sets. “Barely touched me.”

The man frowns - probably because Seokjin is lying - but he lets it go, and Seokjin is thankful for it. Small mercies. 

“Jin,” Giho calls. He stops and turns. “Eleven, tomorrow.” He nods and leaves, ignoring the exhaustion in his bones and the familiar sorrow that fills his chest as he passes the all-too-familiar trunk by the door.

In the studio he leaves behind, Namjoon shares a look with his brother, who very minutely shakes his head. Namjoon knows that look, created that look to warn Tae off the ones that were more trouble that he could handle. Namjoon always wondered why his little brother never listened to that look. 

As he and Taehyung head to dinner, passing billboard after poster after billboard with Jin’s face on it, Namjoon thinks he might understand. 

The guy shows up more often. Seokjin knows his name, has said it a thousand times in his head over the weeks, but he won’t let himself acknowledge it. He can feel the guy’s stares on him, every time he arrives to get Tae at the same time Seokjin is running out the door after a shoot. He feels the interest, he’s intimately familiar with how it feels to have someone’s eyes running up and down his body, and he knows exactly what kind of danger that puts the both of them in. 

Giho sees it too, he’s sure. That’s the most dangerous part of it, the thing that could be the end of them both. He hasn’t said anything - yet - but Jin is positive as he switches poses for Taehyung that Giho can tell. 

He can tell that Namjoon - the guy , Jin corrects himself - is showing up earlier and earlier, more and more often, often hanging out beside the photo monitor and talking to Hoseok while he waits. That his eyes linger, long after the model is gone, and that they wonder, about everything. That he’s interested . 

Seokjin doesn’t like to remember what happened to the last man that was interested in him. 

It’s pouring rain. There’s a fog over the city that clouds vision and hushes conversation. There’s damp in the air, a wetness that seeps into each breath and covers the earth in its scent. It’s like a blanket over everything, making it all grey and dark and quiet, and Seokjin lives for it. 

It reminds him of the sea. How it would churn and darken and crash before a storm. The way the salt spray would hit the ice, the smell of the lightning in the air, the way he could just let it carry him wherever it wanted him to go. 

He stands outside the studio. Giho left hours before, for some important networking dinner. He’d tried to drag Seokjin along with him, until Taehyung offhandedly mentioned needing to reshoot a couple things. Giho had sneered and stormed out and that was that.  

Now he stands outside, in the rain, with his back against the building. The trunk is just on the other side of the wall; it lingers in the back of his mind, taunting. He can feel it. He knows it’s there. 

It’s a testament to how thorough Giho is in his punishments that Seokjin doesn’t attempt to claw it open and instead just tips his head back, eyes closed, basking in the water soaking his sweater and the pull he can feel in his stomach. 

He should be swimming.

“Do you need a ride?”

Seokjin doesn’t even open his eyes; he knows the voice. Has spent too long hearing it murmur on the sidelines of photoshoots, has watched its owner as his lips form words he isn’t supposed to listen to. 

He should ignore it. That’s what Giho would warn him to do.

“Jin?” 

He flutters his lids open, casting a glance at where Namjoon and Taehyung stand. Taehyung has his camera out, and Seokjin has no doubt he’s already snapped a few photos of their surroundings out of habit. 

“I’m fine,” he says softly. His voice is slightly hoarse from disuse, but Namjoon doesn’t even flinch. Taehyung is fiddling with his camera, oblivious to the way Namjoon’s eyes search Seokjin’s face for the lie he won’t find.

The rain is the only solace that Seokjin gets; he cherishes these nights. He won’t cut it short, especially not for a human.

“I’m fine,” He repeats. Against his better judgement, he continues, “I enjoy the rain. It’s refreshing.”

“Refreshing…” Namjoon echoes quietly. Neither of them speak, for a long moment; Namjoon continues to look for any sign that Seokjin is lying, and Seokjin continues to pretend the streaks on his cheeks are from the raindrops. 

“Walk Jin home.”

They both turn at that, to where Taehyung has his camera pressed to his eye as he frames some shots. When he’s finished, and there’s been no response, Taehyung looks at them both. 

“It’s bad weather,” Taehyung explains, “On a dark night. It’d be rude of us to let you walk home alone when anything could be lurking in the shadows.”

Namjoon looks at Seokjin, practically begging for him to agree. He should say no. He should walk himself the ten blocks to his apartment, and pretend neither of them ever said anything, and continue on with his life. Giho would go berserk if he ever found out, would never allow it, would do everything he could to prevent it. 

“Sure,” Seokjin says. He’s tired of doing what Giho wants. He’s tired of being without the sea, being kept landlocked with just the rain to remind him of home. “It’s this way.”

Namjoon and Taehyung share a look, but Seokjin pays it no mind as he heads down the street. 

The rain is coming down in sheets, and his clothes are soaked. They rest heavy against his skin, and it just makes Seokjin miss the ocean more. He misses how it felt to be weightless, constantly; to feel so powerful and strong and capable. He never feels that way on land. 

“How long have you been a model?” Namjoon eventually asks. For a moment - a split second - Seokjin considers ignoring him. It’s what Giho would demand he do. 

“Too long,” He says instead. 

“You don’t enjoy it?” Namjoon asks, surprised. Seokjin shakes his head, just slightly. 

“I do, it’s just…” He searches for the words. He can’t tell anyone about it, has no one to talk to, no one that would believe him. He’s never even felt the urge to share it. Until now. “It’s not what I would have picked for myself.”

Namjoon is silent beside him, and Seokjin can feel the question on the tip of his tongue. He’s going to ask why he does it, why he would bother being a model if it isn’t what he wants to do, and then Seokjin will be forced to come up with an excuse. 

“What would you have picked?” Namjoon asks instead. 

It brings all of the thoughts in his head to a standstill; all the worry and anxiety and stress stops, distracted by the thought that he had wanted, once upon a time. It takes a long time for Seokjin to find words, to find something that could translate into human language. 

“To swim,” He says simply. “To be in the ocean, or with my family. Something.”

“You aren’t with your family?”

“No.” He debates how much to say, but eventually, Seokjin decides, fuck it . He’s been quiet for long enough, and something about Namjoon is comforting, and soothing, and encouraging. “I lost them, when I was very young.”

“I’m sorry,” Namjoon says, and Seokjin thinks he actually means it, even if he doesn’t know the real truth of the matter. How Seokjin strayed too far from them, despite the warnings he’d been given his entire life. How he wanted to stretch human legs and snuck away and got caught by someone that recognized the coat drying on a rock and what he was. 

How Giho locked it away, for years, and forced Seokjin to be his ticket to wealth. 

“So am I.”

It becomes an irregularly regular thing, Namjoon walking him home. 

He can’t do it every night. They’re both too aware of the way Giho watches them, though for different reasons. Namjoon doesn’t know what Giho has done to others in his position, the lengths he’s gone to ensure Seokjin stays his. 

But the nights when he can, when Giho leaves for some dinner or event or something and Taehyung can come up with a believable excuse...those are the nights that Seokjin starts looking forward to. 

He learns so much about Namjoon - that he studied marine biology in school, got his doctorate in it as soon as he could; that he visits his parents’ grave every Wednesday morning, leaves flowers for them when he has the money; that he wants to travel the world and help endangered species everywhere, wants to take Taehyung with him as a nature photographer; that he’s the best man Seokjin has ever known with the biggest heart and the most patience that he’s ever seen. 

Namjoon doesn’t question why Seokjin only ever gives vague answers, or skirts around mentions of where he comes from, or why he doesn’t have a phone. He doesn’t ask Seokjin to let him up into the apartment, or answer his questions, or explain why he stays at arm’s length despite leaning closer because Namjoon is warm. 

He doesn’t question any of it, and it makes Seokjin’s heart flutter dangerously in his chest, and it means that when Namjoon asks if he has a free day anytime soon, Seokjin only hesitates for a second before he responds. 

“Giho has a business trip coming up,” he tells Namjoon. “As long as we have three full shoots, he won’t suspect anything.”

“Will you come with me?” Namjoon asks. “I just want to distract you for the day. I’ve seen your life, what you do, so much. I’d like to show you mine, if you’ll let me.” 

He should say no. He shouldn’t go with him, he should say no, and stop letting Namjoon walk him home, and let Giho move them across the country again.

“Sure.”

The day comes. Seokjin dresses nicer, though he’ll never admit it. A nice button-down, black slacks, hair styled, sunglasses to combat the glare in the sky. Giho is gone for three days - three marvelous, liberated days - and Seokjin can use that time to come up with a believable excuse if he’s recognized.

Namjoon looks like he always does - warmth and welcome and strength. It settles in Seokjin’s chest the second he sees Namjoon, and he wonders if this is what people meant when they say they found home in someone.

He doesn’t ask Namjoon where they’re going; just follows him onto the subway, and off, and on, and off again, listening to him talk about this cafe and that bookstore and the busker on the corner. He gets the full experience of Namjoon’s commute, and he couldn’t be more in love with him. 

With it. He’s in love with it , the commute, seeing what other people do each day. That’s all, because that’s all he can let himself have. 

When they arrive, Seokjin stares. He doesn’t know why he didn’t know, why he didn’t put the pieces together from all the times Namjoon has mentioned his work and his degree, but he didn’t...he didn’t think , didn’t even consider, and now he stands on the sidewalk, staring at the large building, and Namjoon is waiting for him. 

“Seokjin?” He asks softly. “We can turn around right now.” 

He looks at Namjoon - really looks at him. Takes in the nice turquoise shirt and the cuffed slacks and the dress shoes, the glasses that are so thick Seokjin wonders how he sees without them at all, the way there’s already disappointment clouding the acceptance in his eyes. 

“No,” He says. “No, it’s fine. Let’s go.”

He shouldn’t be here, his mind tells him throughout each exhibit. Not just because of Giho this time, but for himself. 

Namjoon is so excited about each exhibit, telling him about each creature as they go through. He mentions how each one has its own name, though they get confused sometimes for the larger populations. How so many have been released into the wild successfully, how so many have been rebuilt and are on the brink of non-endangered status. 

He talks about the sharks, and how Louise and Wheein haven’t been getting along, but that Yari and Chainsaw are expecting a pup soon; he talks about the penguins and how Potato keeps stealing extra fish but he does it to give to Frenchie, so they let him get away with it; he talks about the jellyfish, and the rays, and the octopuses, and everyone and everything, and it’s nearly too much for Seokjin, but he manages. 

He gets through nearly the entire aquarium, exhausted but content with the happy grin on Namjoon’s face, but he stops, because Namjoon has mentioned Maple throughout the entire trip, has talked about her before. Seokjin knows Maple’s history better than his own, almost, but he never realized…

Now he does. He watches as Maple dives back down off the landing, flipping and turning in the water. They stand in a viewing area, a room long and tall and tinted blue with the water at the bottom of the tank. It gives way to land halfway up, is more than generous for the lone animal that dances through the water. 

“Isn’t she beautiful?” Namjoon asks. “She’s the one we’re working hardest with. Hawaiian monk seals are critically endangered, so when she was brought in as a pup, she took first priority. We’re doing everything we can to get her back up to breeding standards. She keeps getting sick, though, and no pregnancy has been viable so far.”

Seokjin doesn’t answer. He doesn’t even blink. He doesn’t know this seal, not really; she’s just a seal, she’s not like him, she’s not even the same species, but a human wouldn’t know that. Especially not a human like Namjoon, completely out of the loop on all of it. 

“She wants to be free.”

He can see it when Namjoon turns to look at him, confused. Watches the reflection in the glass as closely as he watches Maple’s mourning dance. 

“Her environment is larger than most,” Namjoon says. “She’s got plenty of room to swim and we’ve got activity sets throughout so she’s mentally stimulated as well. She eats, probably more than she should, and-”

“A cage is still a cage, no matter how pretty it is.” Seokjin can see it, can hear Maple’s call, can feel it in his very soul as the urge to respond grows. She spots them standing there and swims closer, and Seokjin places a hand on the glass wall. “She wants to be back in the ocean.”

“It’s dangerous for her there,” Namjoon says quietly. He says it like he knows, like he’s always known, what she needs, but doesn’t want to admit it. “There isn’t enough food, humanity keeps taking their territory...she’s sick. She wouldn’t survive out there.”

Better to die free than spend eternity in a cage, Seokjin thinks bitterly. He takes a breath and reminds himself that Namjoon cares. He’s helping, in the only way that he knows how. 

Maple spins when she spots Namjoon, clearly excited, but when her eyes land on Seokjin, she stills. 

“Ah, she’s not always friendly to strangers, so…” Namjoon trails off. His reflection shows his jaw slack, open in a surprised o , because he’s wrong, this time. 

Maple lets out a whistle - long, and low, and haunting in the stillness of the building. Her nose is nearly against the glass, she’s so close, and she looks straight into him. She sees him, recognizes him for what he is, and uses the call. 

Seokjin can feel the snap as his soul breaks; what little was left of him shatters, into pieces. He can’t return her call, he can’t tell her that he sees, that he knows what she’s feeling and will do what he can to help her, because he can’t . He can’t help her, he has no way to save her from her cage because he’s stuck in his own. 

She must see it, somehow, because her song trails off, and Seokjin hates himself. He hates himself for being here, for allowing himself to get close to Namjoon when he can’t, for not being able to even hear her song the way it deserves to be heard. 

“Hey,” Namjoon calls, soft and quiet. His thumb brushes hesitantly along Seokjin’s cheek, carrying a tear with it. “I’m sorry, I didn’t…”

“I’m fine,” Seokjin tells him. “I’ve got to be up early tomorrow, to do the shoots, so I’m gonna head home.” 

“Do you want me to go with you?”

He turns on his heel and walks out, ignoring Namjoon’s question entirely. He can’t lie right now, he does want Namjoon with him, but he can’t. It’s too dangerous, and seeing Maple just reminded him of it. 

He can’t let Namjoon get hurt just because he makes Seokjin feel marginally better. 

In his wake, Namjoon sighs. He turns to Maple, wishing he was up top in his wetsuit so he could run his fingers through her fur the way she likes. Her eyes are big and sad, more so than usual, and Namjoon thinks maybe he understands her for the first time. 

“I’ll try,” He tells her. “I’ll try.”

Weeks pass. Months fly by. Shoot after shoot after shoot gets published, and Giho rakes in the cash from them. Seokjin stays in his small apartment, watching the light reflect rainbows through the window pane. He stopped letting Namjoon walk him home when Giho got back, and nearly ripped part of Seokjin’s hair out with fury that he’d gone out. 

The only reason it wasn’t worse is because Seokjin managed to convince him that it was promo for the upcoming swimwear collection, and good press about the humanitarian efforts of the label. 

It doesn’t matter anyway, because Namjoon stopped showing up after a few days. Seokjin refuses to ask Taehyung why, because he shouldn’t care. He can’t care. Not with Giho hovering over his shoulder at every turn. 

One day, for some reason, things change. Giho gets less certain, more fidgety. Starts looking over his own shoulder. Stops threatening Seokjin with every glance. 

Stops glancing altogether. 

It just makes Seokjin worry more; if the one in charge is afraid of something, everyone else should be as well. That was the first lesson his mother taught him. 

Seokjin gathers his things. Packs them all back into his suitcase, keeps a single change of clothes out and starts washing them every day. Giho looks ready to run, and Seokjin knows by now that he needs to be ready when it happens if he wants to keep any of his things. 

Then Giho disappears. 

Giho disappears for a while . 

He doesn’t take Seokjin with him. He just disappears one night, when everything is quiet and still. The calendar is still booked with shoots, so Seokjin just keeps working. One night, he and Taehyung go out for Korean BBQ. The entire week after that, Seokjin expects Giho to pop up and berate him for doing anything that isn’t working, but it never comes. 

A few weeks later, they go on a day trip to a mountain and walk the trails together while Taehyung takes pictures. Neither of them mention Giho or Namjoon or anything except the way the leaves fall. 

Life goes on. For months, Seokjin begins tiptoeing across the line. He goes out more often. The time between shoots gets longer and longer, and Seokjin begins to enjoy things. He goes to see movies, and shopping, and eating, and travelling. He starts doing the things he wants to do. 

He sees Namjoon again. 

They get dinner together, whenever they’re both free. It starts with Taehyung inviting him for drinks, and turns into them meeting each other at the cafe on the corner that makes the good boba. They talk for what could be hours, or what could be minutes. Seokjin never knows, because everything else seems to stop when he’s with Namjoon. 

He says as much as he can, as much as he dares, but it never seems like it’s enough. Namjoon takes what Seokjin gives him, more than happy to be included again, but they both know that there’s a time limit on it. Still, Seokjin fools himself into thinking that it’s become an if , instead of being a when . 

He fools himself into thinking that this can be his life. 

It takes almost four months. It’s been nearly a year since Seokjin first met Namjoon - he refuses to acknowledge that he remembers the day. Giho returns in a whirlwind. 

He interrupts the shoot, throws the clothes around, breaks some mannequins, it’s all out war on the set, and they all watch silently. The only thing that keeps him from breaking Taehyung’s camera is the look on the younger’s face when Giho goes for it. 

But of course, nothing lasts forever. He spots Seokjin, sitting as still as a statue in the makeup chair, and that’s the beginning of the end. He recognizes the feral rage in God's eyes, has seen it barely contained too many times before, and he’s clearly not holding back this time. 

He has Seokjin on the ground, under his shoe, with a cane against his throat when the door opens. The others have tried to help, but Giho is surprisingly adept with a cane when he wants to be, and as such, no one has gotten close. But Seokjin can guess what time it is, he knows in his bones who just walked in, and he refuses to let this happen.

“You,” Giho hisses. The pressure on Seokjin’s throat disappears as Giho stands; the model coughs, several times, choking down air even as his hand darts out to wrap around his owner’s ankle. 

The elder crumples to the ground, kicking at Seokjin’s steel grip, but it’s useless, because Seokjin is tired. 

He is tired of being afraid of a bitter old man. He is tired of being without the sea. He is tired of not allowing himself to be happy. 

He’s on top of Giho before he even realizes he’s moved, prying the cane from his hands and holding it steady over Giho’s windpipe. He doesn’t press down, not yet; just holds it there, like the threat it is.

“You will not hurt him,” Seokjin commands. “And you will run, as far as you can get. You will run to the ends of the earth, and then, God willing, you will run further. You will leave your wealth and your fame and everything I have made for you, and if you dare to show your face among humanity again…”

“What?” Giho spits, a smirk growing on his face. “What is a defenseless little pup like you going to do?”

Seokjin leans down, letting the cane choke the man below him as he drops his voice. “I will find my brethren, and I will tell them what you have done. They will spread your story far and wide, across every ocean, over every continent, and when they find you, they will remind you why we are considered predators.”

He sits back, letting the cane go and allowing air back into his lungs. He stands on his own two feet, the legs that have carried him for so long, and he looks around. 

“This shoot is over,” Seokjin says. “Everyone get out.” 

The people scramble, even Taehyung gathers his things to leave, and the room is empty in seconds. Only he and Giho remain. 

The elder lies on the floor, still catching his breath, as Seokjin tosses the cane across the room. He looks around, spots an old iron trash can from a shoot last month, and starts toward it. 

“It won’t do you any good,” Giho says. Seokjin ignores him and hefts the can up, carrying it across the room. “You won’t get anywhere. You can’t just disappear, not when the world knows your face.”

“Maybe so,” Seokjin says as he positions himself. “But at least I’ll have the choice.”

He brings the iron can down with all his strength. There’s a colossal crash as it connects with the old padlock, and it only gets louder with the next one. It takes seven hits for the lock to break, and the sound of it clattering to the floor isn’t one he’s likely to forget.

When he opens the trunk, however, it’s empty. 

“I told you,” Giho hisses triumphantly. “It won’t do any good.” 

Seokjin resists the urge to curse under his breath and forces himself not to sob as he looks back at Giho. 

“Then it won’t do you any good either.”

The sand is warm beneath his feet. The setting sun paints the sky a myriad of colors, orange turning into red bleeding into purple shifting into blue curling into black, all of it reflected in the cool water below. The tang of salt wafts in with every breath he takes, and just confirms that this is right. 

“Thanks for meeting me,” Namjoon says from behind him. Seokjin didn’t hear him approach, but he didn’t need to. He knows Namjoon won’t hurt him. 

“Thanks for calling,” Seokjin responds. He feels the tide tickle his toes, and he knows that this is best. “I actually wanted to tell you something.”

“I think I should go first,” Namjoon’s voice is firm, but hesitant. Like he doesn’t want to say what he’s saying. Seokjin turns, frowning slightly when he sees the other. Namjoon looks troubled, looks like he would rather be anywhere else, and that doesn’t bode well for Seokjin. 

Still, he gestures for Namjoon to continue.

“Tae pointed it out,” Namjoon eventually says. “He mentioned how you looked at it, and thought maybe...maybe it had passports or something inside, something you could use to get away. So when he left, and we thought he might not come back...I opened it.”

A weight settles in Seokjin’s throat. 

“Opened what?”

“The trunk,” Namjoon says. “I broke in and I picked the lock and...I didn’t know it was...I didn’t think he had it….” He sighs and pulls his hands from behind his back, and there it is. 

Seokjin’s coat. 

It’s silky and smooth and soft and perfect and exactly as he remembers it. It’s bigger now, grown with him, and the sight of it in the light is enough to bring tears to his eyes. 

“He had some kind of alert on the trunk,” Namjoon continues, “So when I opened it he knew. That’s why he came back. I didn’t know he would come back.”

“Namjoon…” Seokjin looks at him, eyes wide and tear-filled, and for the first time since they met, Seokjin is scared. His life is here, right in front of him, but he doesn’t know if he can have it. 

Because now Namjoon knows. He knows what Seokjin is, he’s fully aware that Seokjin can’t leave without the coat in Namjoon’s hands. He could keep him forever, just as Giho intended to do. 

“I didn’t know,” Namjoon says again. “Or I wouldn’t have taken you to the aquarium. I wouldn’t have done that to you, I wouldn’t have hurt you like that, and I am... so sorry, Seokjin. I’m so sorry that I did that to you, I-”

“Namjoon, you didn’t know-”

“But now I do.” Namjoon sniffles slightly, and his hands shake, but he extends them, holding the coat out to Seokjin. “And I’m sorry.”

Seokjin’s fingers curl in the fur, almost reverently, as he takes it. It’s still warm, and it feels like water in his hands, and it’s everything he’s missed in his life. 

“Namjoon, I…” He trails off, because there’s nothing he could say. No words fit this gift, this release; there’s nothing he could say that would properly convey the emotions building in Seokjin’s chest. 

“I know,” Namjoon says. “You’re not in a cage anymore. You’re free to go and do what you want to do.”

Seokjin strips his sweater off and wraps his sealskin around his shoulders. It’s the perfect size for him, exactly what he needs, and when he crashes waist-deep into the surf, it keeps him warm. 

He turns, though. Namjoon stands on the shore, just out of reach of the tide, and watches him. There’s a smile on his face, small and sad, and Seokjin wants nothing more than to wipe it from his lips, but he can’t. 

Because he’s free. 

He turns, wrapping the skin tighter around his shoulder. When he gets under the water, he can feel it in his hair and he can feel the water against his tail and he’s almost home. 

But something is missing. 

There’s warmth and weightlessness and the setting sun painting the water a rainbow , but the buzz in Seokjin’s chest isn’t full. There’s something not right, something not quite perfect about this moment that he’s been dreaming of for years, and he can’t figure out what. 

Namjoon stares at the horizon, wondering how far Seokjin has already gone. He sends up a small wish, a hope, that Seokjin can live his life, free and happy and himself. That he can find his family, see his pod again. 

His heartbeat turns painful, something constricting his chest and making it difficult to breathe, so he turns away. The crash of the waves covers the sound of his shaky breath, because of course, of course , he would find love in a man that couldn’t stay. 

Fingers tangle in his own and Namjoon turns, shocked, to see a wet Seokjin, hair damp with his sealskin around his waist. 

“W-What-”

“I can’t,” Seokjin says softly. “I can’t go back, I can’t find them, I don’t know how to do that without…”

He trails off and Namjoon stares because this is it, he thinks. This is everything he’s been waiting for his entire life, here, right in front of him. He just has to let himself have it. 

Seokjin’s hand pulls away from his and Namjoon mourns the loss for the brief moment it takes for the selkie to pull his sealskin off and place it carefully in Namjoon’s arms. 

“Namjoon,” He says, voice hushed and serious, “I want you to...because I…” 

He’s never Seokjin this unsure, this at a loss, and the way he keeps starting sentences that have no end is undeniably endearing. But he can feel Seokjin’s growing frustration at his inability to articulate his thoughts, so he just smiles. 

“I know,” Namjoon says. He takes the coat and places it back in Seokjin’s hands, covering them with his own. The heat from their skin combines and warms Namjoon straight to the core. “And I love you too.”

Player!Namjoon

And now it is time for the fourth member of the hyung line, our amazing leader, my lowkey spirit animal who is so humble and amazing like to this day, he isn’t braggy about their success, he always thanks the fans and he always does his best to communicate with us, I love him, Kim Namjoon aka Rap Monster aka joon

This AU includes college!joon (here) it’s just to help set the scene a bit more but I’ve actually written something for player!joon before that also featured college!joon, it was a drabble called Rapmon (here) so I’ll be extending off of that

Blonde!Joon is one of my all time favorite looks on him, whether it’s the more silver color or just pure blonde or the dirty blonde he had for a second I just love anything blonde!joon

Player!joon does dye his hair other colors as well, he goes gray for a while, he does pink, purple but he always comes back to blonde bc that is such a loOK

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I l o v e Namjoon’s style so much, I love that he’s not afraid to try new things, I love that he expresses himself through his fashion, I love that he shares his outfits with us with his whole Kim Daily thing I love it all

Okay so the player!joon outfit is this one look Namjoon did in a Kim Daily (bless those pictures someone make a compilation of them so I can just admire the beauty all at once plz)

He had on black jeans and a white t-shirt but then the super cute part is that he had a really long hoodie on (that shit came down to his knees and Namjoon is not a tiny person so just imagine how huge that hoodie is) and then some black sneakers and a simple black snapback

But also my favorite Namjoon look on possibly all time is all black!joon where he had shorts, a tank top, a lil headband and it was so simple but so !!! like fuck me up pls Namjoon stans are you okay after that look 

Namjoon is a flirt, both irl and as player!Joon

We’ve seen him flirting in videos but bc I’m Namjin trash I’m gonna bring up the time Jin just looked at him and joon winked at him and I could hear ever Namjin stan scream

He goes on dates here and there but his main thing is just being really flirty, sometimes he doesn’t actually follow through

He’s not doing it to lead them on or anything like that, he’s just not ready for a relationship bc his last one ended sourly and he needs time to be ready to dive back in but an innocent date every now and then doesn’t hurt

One thing about him though is that he’s very honest about it, he doesn’t let the other person wonder about their status, he’ll just straight up say “we’re flirting and having fun, this is casual, go do your thing if you wanna” he won’t try to get them to think he’s theirs or they’re his or anything like that

He doesn’t stop them from flirting/seeing other people either so it’s not like he’s the only one doing it, it’s a mutual understanding that neither person is looking for love or a relationship, at least not with Namjoon

There’s no calling him “boyfriend” no “I love you” no “we should be together” everyone is just having fun with it and not taking it too seriously

That really helps when it comes to the “breaking up” bc both of them agreed to not being in a relationship, even if they do go out on dates so it’s a lot easier to say hey let’s just be friends 

He’s a pretty social person, Namjoon is a nice balance of being able to talk to new people and make new friends while not making friends with every single person he meets like he’s right in the middle

So he has no problem approaching the other person first but he also doesn’t mind when they approach him

Maybe this is just me but I feel like Namjoon would be really fun to talk to like he’s so smart but he also doesn’t take every lil thing seriously, he’s funny, he’s clever, he can hold a conversation really well, he’s such a gem I love him so much

Namjoon is s u c h a gentleman, he would treat everyone really well, when they do go on dates, he always picks them up and drops them off, he always offers to pay, even if they were the one to ask him out, he offers his jacket if it’s cold, he does all the nice things

His dates would be so personal and cute, like going to the local cafe and getting a table in the corner and just talking until they close or exploring the city together, something romantic like that

Okay so since I’m building off of the drabble, I’m gonna use the plot I had in there, which I’ll explain rn, I don’t wanna be repetitive so I’m just gonna sum it up here but if you want all the itty bitty details and the exact words and all of that good stuff, the drabble is linked up there

Basically, you and Namjoon have been flirting for a wh ile, it’s been a couple terms, there have been a few dates and it’s always really fun and comfortable with him  

You start to develop a crush on him on the second date bc he’s such an amazing person, it’s kinda hard not to, he’s always so sweet to you and he does treat you differently

Once again, he’s open about the fact that he’s flirting with other people and maybe going on dates with them so you know that he’s supposedly very casual about the relationship (spoiler he isn’t) but you can’t help but wonder what it would be like if he was

Bc he already puts so much attention and time into the relationship as is, you see him all the time, you two study together, you’ve met his dog, you’ve met his friends and it does kinda feel like a relationship and you’ve also noticed he hasn’t been flirting with other people all that much for the past month ???

So you’re starting to question it a bit bc is he starting to develop feelings too, have you just not heard about the other people, there are so many options

But he opens up to you a lot more than he does with the others and he’s never let anyone meet his dog before bc that’s his bby and you get a lot of special treatment

So one day, you two are hanging out and he’s being flirty as always and then you both mutually make the first move and you both agree to make it exclusive and to stop seeing/flirting with other people

“I like this whole relationship thing, I can tell Rapmon likes it too, he loves you”

College!Namjoon

And now it is time for our amazing leader, the second half of Namjin, my lowkey spirit animal who was so fucking cute in his lil V live thing like holy shit that is the definition of cute and thoughtful like he kept switching between English and Korean and even had a bit of Japanese in there I love him so much he’s so sweet, Kim Namjoon aka Rap Monster aka joon

So this is gonna be the prequel to CEO!Namjoon (here) which is the sequel to youtuber!joon (here)

College!joon has been mentioned in quite a few different posts, fashion major!joon was featured in cashier!joon (here) and a brief mention of music major!joon in American!joon (here) but the one that was just college!joon is the drabble I wrote a while ago called Rapmon (here)

He is a fashion major

This is one of my biggest head canons for joon bc he seems to just love expressing himself in his fashion choices and the fact that he’s not afraid to like fashion and like what he wears even if others don’t is so important !!!!! 

His style is so cute and it’s just so him and it makes me happy to see him posting things like Kim Dailys and talking about his outfits it’s one of my favorite things about him

I feel like Namjoon would l o v e the creative process of fashion design like being able to collect different swatches and think up outfits and be able to design his own things

He loves trying his outfits out irl like it’s easy to make something look good on paper but making it actually look nice is a different story

He starts with just using clothes that he buys and makes outfits and then it turns into him designing his own pieces and wearing them around and seeing how it wears bc his whole goal is to make nice looking things that are comfortable and aren’t super super expensive bc he’s a college kid he knows how hard it is to balance school fees and rent and all of that shit

He has a couple of binders for his designs and it’s actually really fun to look back through them bc he still has the very first outfit sketch he made and it’s s o different from how he draws them now, he was just a bby back then he was so new to everything

He films in his spare time and he does a few lookbooks bc that is my head canon can you just imagine an entire video of his outfits and how aesthetic that shit wouLD BE

His editing style is 10/10, he puts s o much time into his videos, I feel like he’d be a male version of Marzia or someone like that (hi I have just discovered my newest head canon)

He walks around LA and has Jimin or Jin film his outfits for him and they keep making him laugh bc they hum “Fashion” by David Bowie so you just see his shoulders shaking as he’s trying to film bc he’s giggling so hard but the shots are still really pretty

Sometimes he even gets the boys to star in the videos with him bc they’re all models just imagine a Namkook lookbook and tell me that doesn’t sound really pretty

He gets you to star in one of his lookbooks with him and everyone turns heart eyes, including him bc he’s always getting you to try his designs on at home so he can see what they look like but to see you be so proud to wear them out in public makes his heart happy

Head canon that Tae takes a few fashion classes with him just bc he’s curious and joon totally takes him under his wing bc we all know how much Namjoon a d o r e s Taehyung

And of course lil bby fashion major!joon ends up creating hundreds of fashion lines and collections and has his clothes modeled by some of the most popular models in the industry at so many different fashion events but that’s a lil bit off in the future

He also takes the essential classes but he takes plenty of music classes with Yoongi, he takes some reading/writing classes with Jungkook, he takes an art class with Jimin bc he wants to be able to draw a somewhat realistic human body for his fashion sketches

He’s more of a digital note taker but he also really enjoys some hand written notes, the only issue with hand written notes is that sometimes in the rush to keep up with the professor, notes can get sloppy but joon doesn’t mind that too much

It all depends on the class, how quickly the professor goes through the lecture, how much note taking there actually is, etc.

He normally uses his laptop but there are a couple classes where he just carries in a notebook and a pencil

He studies a good bit, he tries not to go too crazy with it but he tries not to forget about it either, he finds a nice balance where he has a big study session every week to be able to go back through all of his notes from the week and memorize everything

Sometimes he even makes flash cards with Jin and Jungkook, which normally ends with Jin and kook bickering about which color highlighter to use for each flashcard

He doesn’t like being late bc he takes his education really seriously but sometimes the car keys are just not able to be found or he oversleeps but those are all rare occasions

He’s normally around five minutes early unless it’s the first few classes of that term bc then you gotta get there early to get the good seats

He likes sitting more towards the front, he’s a second row type of guy in my opinion

That one student that genuinely wants to answer the question and has the actual answer 

Probably survives off of takeout tbh, he tries to cook once and burns his hand trying to boil water so he has to call Jin over to help out

He has an entire playlist on his channel of Jin trying to teach him how to cook and they’re always so funny to watch bc Namjoon really tries his hardest but somehow still ends up burning the toast bc Jin left the room to get his phone

Has another playlist of college related videos, he’s got fashion tips for college, how to look cute on a budget, he’s got studying tips, he’s got some library tips bc head canon that he’d have a part time job/volunteer at the library so he knows all of the ins and outs of it

He l o v e s wearing couple outfits but there’s an exception

He doesn’t wanna do the whole matching shirts thing, he wants to have matching themes

So like if you have an all black outfit on, he’ll wanna have an all black outfit on but with his own style

It’s his way of making sure the two of you still have your own independent styles while matching the theme

College!joon is just really into fashion and clothes and is head over heels for you and he has no idea that one day he’ll have an extremely popular brand but for rn he’s just following his dream and having fun doing it

College!Jin

I wanna say a h u g e thank you for 4,100 followers!!! It means so so so much to me and it made my day and now I’m really :D but I have been meaning to do the college series for so long, I think it was one of my first requests so why not do it now for 4,100 plus I’ve been wanting to do this for a while so to start us off as he always does is the first half of Namjin, the king of dad jokes, a talented bundle of cute who is s o sweet like he takes care of the boys so much and he’s always so gentle and kind and goofy with the Army and I love him so much, Kim Seokjin aka Jin 

This is gonna continue off of high school!Jin (here) which is the part two to the teenager!Jin post (here) the hs post focused more on what he’s like in school while the teen post is more about the romantic side

Those posts featured youtuber!Jin (here) to sum it up, he has a cooking/food channel, there’s also a drabble called Flour (here) that features college!Jin

He would major in cooking

He would love learning about the different countries and their foods, he loves Italian food, he loved learning about French food, Greek food, all the food

He’s really cute about it and he goes out and buys a special binder with all of the recipes he learns in class or finds through his studying and he has them arranged by country to help him differentiate them

He’s also got a couple rating systems going on, he has them rated from 1 to 10 based on how difficult or easy they are to make and then he has them rated from 1 to 5 stars based on their taste

He loves making videos on them bc then people that have grown up with these recipes can share their memories of the food and maybe suggest different options for how to make it based on how their family had made it

That’s one of the reasons Jin loves cooking so much, he loves how just seeing a dish can provoke so many memories

He also loves being able to record his progress bc just a year into it, he’s already grown so much and looking back on the video he made after his first class, he just smiles bc he was so new

He was so excited about all the new terms he’d learned and he kept using them during the video bc he was so happy about it, nowadays he actually explains what each cut is, what each term he uses means but during that first video he was too !!! he felt so professional

He makes an entire playlist for his “College Food” videos, which is a series where he takes really nice fancy recipes he learns in class and makes them affordable and easier to cook so that non-cooking majors can make them too

He does a few mukbangs (or eating shows) bc Eat Jin is one of my favorite things and every time there’s a new Eat Jin it just makes my day

In his mukbangs, he talks a lot about college life and classes and his teachers and he’s just really relatable

But he does take other classes of course, he takes the essential classes as well as a few fun classes

I read somewhere that Jin majored in film arts?? (idk if it’s true but it’s just what I read) so he would take a couple classes in that and a few in music

He would prefer taking handwritten notes over digital notes

He tries bringing his laptop in during one of his classes but he forgets to charge it prior to the class (him and kookie had been playing games all night) and the laptop runs out of battery mid-class so he takes that as a sign that it’s just better to write the notes out and then type them out later on if he wants them printed

He doesn’t study every single day but he does try to make sure he has more than a week before finals to study bc he doesn’t really enjoy all nighters, they’re so stressful to him, of course sometimes he’s gotta do it but if he can avoid it, he will

He takes his education really seriously and if he has to spend the weekend with his nose in a book, he’ll do it if it means he can get that extra hour of sleep

He’s never late to classes, in all of his semesters at college, he’s only ever been late once or twice but he had legitimate excuses, like his car not starting or losing his phone on the way over

He doesn’t get there too early, except during the first few weeks of classes bc that’s when the most students are there so he has to get there earlier to pick out the seat he wants, but he’s always there at least five to ten minutes before the class starts

He likes to sit towards the front of the class, he doesn’t have to be in the first row but he doesn’t like sitting in the back, it’s too far away from the board/teacher and sometimes you can’t see and/or hear everything and it just doesn’t work for him

Almost always buddies up with the boys during classes, he convinces at least one of them to take the class with him, except for the cooking classes

Namjoon does walk him to class one day and he comes in bc he has thirty minutes before his next class and Jin’s class doesn’t start for another five minutes so he gets Jin to show him some cutting techniques and Jin’s teacher is just concerned for both of their safety, especially joon’s bc that’s not how you hold an onion when you cut it

Okay but from what I remember, Jin wears prescription glasses so plZ just imagine a super soft Jin with glasses and a sweater making dinner bc he really wants you to try this new recipe he learned

He’s got those shoulders that are so lovely and he’s humming along with the music that’s playing and everything smells so good, he’s smelling good the food smells amazing and it’s just comforting to be able to sit on the counter and watch him cook and help wherever you can

The apartment you two have isn’t huge but it isn’t super tiny either, it has one bedroom and a pretty decently sized kitchen (which is the main reason Jin wanted it) and then a living room area and it’s really homey

He always has his binder of recipes on top of the fridge and he buys a lil white board so he can make grocery lists as he goes along

He also has an apron that he always wears when he cooks and it most definitely says “kiss the cook” and he always asks for a kiss before he starts cooking bc he’s cute like that

College!Jin is a hard worker who has such a love and passion for his major and he’s so happy with his channel and his school and his relationship and just everything bc happy!Jin is so so important

First Day of School (Jin)

So now it is time for the next series!! My week is gonna be busier than normal bc I have a test in a couple days so I wanted this week’s series to be something I could write easily bc some series take more time to write but father!BTS is always something that I find easy to write bc it’s so super cute to me so without further ado, to start us off as he always does is the amazingly talented first half of Jinkook, one of seven princes, the tiny sweetheart who’s not actually tiny at all like his shoulders are so broad and he’s so tall but he’s tiny to me bc he’s cute and precious and I wanna wrap him up in a blanket and give him ice cream, Kim Seokjin aka Jin

For everyone that hasn’t read the original father!Jin post, he has one daughter aka the mini Jin in a female form

She’s got those cute lil chubby cheeks (hi I love chubby cheeks so fucking much especiaLLY ON BBYS) and those bby lips and the warm brown eyes so she’s just a walking teeny tiny Jin with pigtails and a Mario plushy that’s bigger than she is

I also have this head canon that she’s just really tiny especially next to Jin bc how cute is that tol and smol who are forever holding each other’s hands and hugging and giving each other’s cheeks lots of kisses

Lil bub is s o excited for her first day of school, she’s got her backpack set a week before the first day, she’s got her outfit picked out, she knows what hair style she wants she’s just so excited 

Jin’s a lil sad bc his bby his angel she’s growing up so quickly but he’s also beyond proud of her bc hell yeah what an awesome kid high five Jin

Mornings with them are normally pretty calm

He wakes her up by rubbing her shoulder or sometimes carrying her downstairs bc no matter how old she gets, you can bet that he’s gonna carry her around like a princess bc she IS one he will fight anyone that says differently

They a l w a y s make breakfast together, this one time she’s feeling really sick so he makes her something to eat while she’s asleep bc she needs sleep to heal up but she gets so sad when she finds out he cooked without her and her eyes got all watery so he’s never left her out of the breakfast making ever since

Even if it’s just cereal, he’s gotta let her pour it into the bowls which turns into him catching all of the cereal that doesn’t make it into the bowl

You always come down to the kitchen to see Jin holding her with one arm and stirring around whatever he’s cooking with his free hand and she’s got a lil juice box and she just looks so content 

They chat about their dreams from the previous night and he keeps sneaking her bites of the food especially if he’s doing something with fruit bc that’s instant food just cut it up and go so she gets lots of snacks whenever he makes blueberry pancakes or banana bread or anything like that, those are her favorite to make

But on that first day of school, she’s wa y to pumped up to be able to sit still so he lets her run around the kitchen for a bit to burn some of that energy off and he’s just smiling to himself bc she’s a playful kid but she’s never been t hi s hyped up

He films her for a few seconds and the entire time he’s giggling bc she stops mid-run and hugs the dog and starts cooing at it before running back over to Jin with that adorably excited grin

Jin helps her get ready bc he wants to be there for her first day so you let him handle most of it and just sit with them and help out if they need it but you’re also more than glad to let him do it bc it’s always so precious to see how gentle he is with her and the look of complete and utter adoration in his eyes whenever he looks at her

He braids her hair for her bc he didn’t spend the entire pregnancy learning how to braid and trying to force a very displeased Jungkook to sit still long enough to use him as his model for nothing

At this point, he knows more braids than he ever thought he would but he’s okay with that bc his princess l o v es braids they’re her favorite hair style

Her first outfit is this super pink dress that come with matching pastel pink tights that have polka dots all over them and she goes for some flats that have all the sparkles 

She picks her entire outfit even though Jin offered to help her out and he’s just :D as she’s looking through her clothes and she gets this really serious look on her face where she’s got a bit of a pout going on and her brow furrows bc she’s concentrated and Jin has to hold back from smothering her in kisses bc she’s just too precious

Her lil backpack is a Peach bag of course bc she’s been around Mario her whole life and lo ves playing it with Jin but her lunchbox is a Dragon Tales lunchbox

Her lil feet are swinging the entire car ride to the school and she keeps telling the both of you how excited she is and that she knows she’ll make lots of friends

Also quick head canon bc my Namjin heart but she and Namjoon’s daughter are around the same age (joon’s bby is a few months younger) so they’re in the same grade and are each other’s best friends all throughout their lives

Saying goodbye is definitely the hardest part, Jin knows that it’s only a few hours but he’s never not been able to be around her, he’s had to work of course but he’s always known that if he wanted to see her, he could just go home or call you and ask to speak to her, he can’t do that with school

He hugs her really tightly and he’s gotta hold some tears back and he gives her so many kisses and keeps telling her how much he loves her, if you didn’t know Jin, you would literally think she was going away for a month but he’s just really proud and a bit sad but mainly happy 

Bby Kim is already there so the second lil bub goes in, she has her best friend there so Jin knows she won’t be alone on her first day and he waves at her every time she turns around to see if he’s still there

“Have fun, princess!! I love you!!! ...hey no, don’t walk away yet you gotta say it back first”

“Let’s go, Jin, before you get into trouble for running into a classroom”

He sighs really loudly and starts to drag his feet to the exit all mopey bc she didn’t hear him say ily bc she was too busy being greeted by the other kids

But then he hears tiny feet running towards him and he feels her cheek squish against his leg and her tiny arms are hugging his legs bc that’s all she can reach

High School!Jin

So the high school series got over 20 votes (it was 22 last I counted but I got a couple more for it after counting) so to start us off as he always does is the oldest member, a total sweetheart who has so much talent I mean he’s gorgeous, he’s a cutie pie that makes dad jokes AND he’s talented like how the fuck I need an explanation plz and thnx, Kim Seokjin aka Jin

I have done a teenager!Jin post (here) but it wasn’t all that hs related, it was briefly mentioned so this is gonna be like an extension of that post bc I mainly focused on the relationship, teenager!Jin featured youtuber!Jin (here) to sum it up, he has a cooking/food channel

Okay so the visuals are first bc this is so cute to me I love this

We all know how adorable BTS was when they were in their school years, Jin didn’t look that different, he had an even softer face but he was definitely a total cutie as a teenager (and he still is)

His cheeks were really soft and s o fucking kissable like Jin currently has super kissable cheeks that you just wanna squish so teen!Jin definitely has some squishy cheeks

For this post, he has the brown hair bc brown hair!Jin is some good shit

Okay so Jin’s style is actually really fucking cute it’s casual but you can also tell he put a lil bit of effort into it while not overdoing it and that’s a hard balance to find sometimes

Like he always has these really cute shirts on sometimes it’s a T-shirt and then he’ll have super cute jeans and maybe a coat if it’s cold and sometimes he does the whole glasses thing and the colors of everything always go well together

He had this one outfit that was a pink shirt a pink hat some glasses and then black jeans and it was so casual but it looked so fucking cute like I want it tbh 

High school!Jin is no different, he has a very casual laid back style, lots of T-shirts, lots of ripped jeans, some cute hats here and there but he does set aside some time to actually make sure he looks good when he leaves

There are some days where he just throws a hoodie on, forgets to change out of his pajama pants and just rushes out of the door with his shoes in hands but even that’s a cute look moral of the story, Jin could wear a trash bag and look adorable

He’s always got good grades bc he likes to study with Namjoon (gotta add in that Namjin bc they are so damn cute together never forget that one time joon was just smiling at jin for a while and when jin looked over joon winks at him supER cAsuAlLLY)

He’s s o sweet and he doesn’t give a shit about cliques like he doesn’t care if people are popular or not, whether they’re rich or not like if they’re a nice person and he gets along with them, he’s gonna be their friend

He’s kinda lowkey friends with everyone tbh

Sports wise he wouldn’t be on any teams bc that’s not really what he loves and is passionate about but during PE he’s gotta do some athletic shit

He’s not much of a jock, he may play when he has to but he’s not gonna go out of his way to join a game (the only time he’d join a game outside of school is if the other boys are playing it in which case sign him uP)

He would be in the cooking club and if there isn’t already one, he’s gonna get one started bc THAT is his shit

He makes a lot of his first youtube videos with you and the cooking club and it helps calm him down bc when his friends are around, they’re making him laugh and joking around with each other so it’s not just him and a camera

Every Friday, they make something s u p er good and the boys are the designated taste tasters, if you’re not involved in the cooking, you’re definitely another taste tester bc Jin always loves cooking for you

He’s the prom king tbh he’s such a prince he needs his crown

Okay but just think about that for a second, prom with Jin !!!!!

He would make sure to match the colors up and he’d get you a lil rose bouquet and would be so proud to take pictures with you he’s full on posing and he’s got this wide smile on his face and he looks so niCe in his suit

He’d probably rent out a limo for the night bc all of the boys are sharing the car with their dates so they figure why not a limo get all fancy

The entire car ride there is so hyped up, it starts off with Vmin yelling and getting each other even more hyped up then they were before then kook joins in then it’s jin and hobi and joon and even yoon has to laugh and join and the next you know, the entire car ride is screaming and dancing around (as best as you can while sitting down) to the loud techno music playing from hobi’s phone

Jin’s so smiley and he keeps telling you how amazing you look and he gives you those lil lovey dovey puppy dog eyes and his face is just so bright the entire night

There is even more group dancing with the boys where somehow they start a dance off and everyone’s circled around and taking turns and Jin’s doing the robot and Jimin hasn’t stop jumping for the past five minutes, Tae’s doing a handstand with the help of kook, Yoongi’s doing the sprinkler, Namjoon is doing his lil face dance and hobi’s continually shaking his ass and it’s chaos but the best type of chaos

But his favorite moments are when you two are slow dancing and it’s one of those moments where it feels like no one else exists and head canon that he gets the DJ or whoever’s controlling the music to play your couple song so he can be sweet and sing it to you as you dance

High school!Jin is just a total sweetheart who befriends everyone he can and loves you a lot
