Vi is such a fantastic character because she's buff, and she's allowed to be buff. Like she's not "girl buff" with giant tits and a giant ass and then just vaguely defined arm muscles (and I mean "girl buff" as in how television depicts women who are supposed to be muscular, like superheros and soldiers and athletes.) She's a great character for a bunch of other reasons, too, but I'm tired of the media being too scared to give female characters genuine muscles (and combat skills that aren't completely reliant on just speed or agility instead of strength—or their ability to seduce men and catch them off-guard enough to beat them.)

the struggle of just coincidentally disliking a piece of media that a lot of conservatives also dislike, but for completely different reasons, so sometimes you'll see youtube recommended videos like "here's why X was so bad" and you're initially like "oh yaayy, yeah I had a lot of criticisms of that too, I'm curious to finally see someone really break down why the plot didn't work! I love media analysis" and then the video is just "it's bad because there's WOMAN in it!!!" ..........ok....

this sucks not only because i think a lot of these would not work as movies (uno???) but also because they are predictably entirely missing what made barbie such a hit- which was that it was a good, well-crafted film with societal commentary that resonated with people- along with marketing that made the movie’s premiere feel like an event. the barbenheimer meme also played a part but i feel like barbie still would’ve been very successful without it. the lesson should be “let creatives have freedom and invest in production design” not “more movies about classic toys”

I'm so glad my friends are (mostly) not book lovers bc holy shit I hate she who became the sun so much and if I was surrounded by people who love it I would not be able to talk to them until they got over the hype. I only liked abt half of it and I would explain my feelings but I don't feel like doing that rn.

Tldr though: I didn't think it was feminist at all and going in thinking it was a feminist piece of literature made it a bad read for me. I liked how the author explored another gender class through the eunuchs though. Should've contested the other main character's misogyny & toxic masculinity (maybe that's not the right term here but idgaf this is just a tumblr post) though (can't remember their name bc i read it so long ago. the thing about the trans joke in the barbie movie (when shes talking to the construction workers, not at the end cuz i dont rly consider that a trans joke) is that IF the rest of the film felt like it existed in a world where gay/trans people were more than a punchline/gotcha, it could have actually been funny

i’ll never understand warner brothers commitment to the fantastic beasts saga. why make an entire movie franchise centered around a barely mentioned author of a textbook schoolchildren use in a singular book. i think fb1 could’ve worked as a one time standalone film as wb tried to find ways to keep milking one of the biggest ips of all time but they just kept going and kept newt scamander at the center like at least make it about dumbledore and grindelwald as main protagonist and antagonist instead of having newt stand around and be sent on errands likeeeee or better yet don’t do any of that, there was perfectly interesting prequel material with the marauders and or original order of the phoenix that people already loved the idea of WHY NEWT SCAMANDER

A couple of days ago my partner was watching Dr Strange 2 and it was the first marvel film I've seen since high school.

Holy shit did I not care for the dialogue or how it even looked bc I could just imagine everyone surrounded by green screen. I was just angry thinking about the poor VFX team having to do EVERYTHING.

Also the sound mixing SUCKED. Had to adjust the volume a lot while watching, and I couldn't imagine WANTING to see it in cinema w surround sound, just to have your eardrums blasted. There wasn't any subtitles so you can imagine my frustration at trying to listen in carefully to understand what they're saying just for a loud crash or music blare ruining it for me.

I still don't know what Scarlet Witch's last line was. Which was obviously meant to be impactful. All I got (even when my boyfriend rewinded it just for that line for me to rehear) was "Ong gogoh gah gah". I'm not even kidding. I swear her last words were "Ong gogoh gah gah".

Anyway. Is that what all marvel movies are like now? Bc holy shit that sucked ass.

Explaining my soul au:

So I have these ocs that were originally for cookie run that I call the souls. They are simply put multidimensional gods.

There are only two souls that escape Illusion soul and Magic soul… illusion decides that she would need a stitchpunk to defeat Dark soul and 9 and has to go with 1 because he saw her first. She grants him the power to create illusions. Magic deciding he doesn’t want his sister and who she’s picked to one up him (pun not intended) he gives his powers to 7. Which allows her to summon weapons to use during fights. They travel from world to world trying to find somewhere to call home while also trying to defend the world the are currently in from Dark soul who is kinda like hawk moth… they meet 9 and entrust him with their powers and after a while of fighting against Dark soul he eventually get manipulated into joining them and gets brainwashed like very quickly and enslaves most of the souls to do his bidding

9 has the ability thanks to Dark’s power to create beasts out of negative emotions and uses the other souls to power them up. 9 is completely unaware of what he is doing and whenever one of the souls tries to talk him out of it Dark just tells 9 that what he is doing is what is best for the other stitchpunks.

using the souls powers isn’t exactly safe for long time use, the longer the power is used the more at risk the user is. For example Using Magic powers too long can cause blindness, Storm (who 9 is using a lot of the time) can cause paralysis and illusion can cause depression and paranoia. Also the souls require food to allow their powers to be used luckily Illusion just wants wine so 1 just pointed her to a wine cellar and Magic will lowkey eat garbage and paper so he does that. Some of the souls want more stuff (like Deep sea soul who I’ve posted about before. She will eat anything but prefers anything that had been alive at one point)

only in TFA? and some of the movies I think? most of the time they run on Energon, which changes forms in different continuities and media.

Most of the other tf fans in the notes are just saying 'no they run on energon, duh', but I think that only answers one of the questions here. Would Captain Planet think they're friends just because the fuel they use isn't a fossil fuel from earth? Sometimes energon is just a magical/scifi physical manifestation of electrical power and can be harvested from renewable resources(like g1 where they got it from dams and power plants and such). Other times it is a finite resource of magical crystals or glowing liquid that needs to be mined (series in the Aligned continuity and a lot of assorted media use energon as a source of the Autobot/Decepticon war in the first place, it's finite and Cybertron is DYING from energon harvesting). Also there might be some continuities where energon itself is a renewable resource or has sustainable alternatives? (synth en in TFP and some post-war comics touch on this, as well as Earthspark's Terrans running from a new fuel that seems to be generated by Earth through magic.)

Energon is usually shown to be clean-burning or at least have less exhaust than is typical of gasoline irl (That is probably mainly due to animation simplification, but optimus will usually have one or two moments spitting smoke from his exhaust pipes per series, as if he runs diesel like a real semi truck.) Energon seems to usually work as a combustible fuel (it explodes), but then again its not really clear how much of transformer physiology is electronic and how much is mechanical, but I don't think any series have stated transformers have a separate battery like cars do so I think it all is supposed to be powered by energon? Sure a transformer can scan and change vehicle mode to an electric model, but they would still be taking in energon and utilizing that resource the same as someone with a diesel or even coal-burning alt mode! (I dont know all that much about cars and i dont know every tf series feel free to correct me.)

Captain Planet would probably have a different opinion series to series, but for the most part he would have to contend with the fact that the Transformers are sentient alien lifeforms without the ability to change fuel source; their carbon emissions are a necessity of life like animal methane production. So unless energon in that context is clean and sustainable/has clean and sustainable alternatives, they could very well be enemies that Captain Planet feels the need to destroy.

Random but like should I re-download snapshot.

I kinda removed it from my phone but didn't delete my account lol. So like 2 years ago when I got news of a3! English shutting down, I deleted snapchat to make more room on my phone for the game files. I tried to go through the character and event stories on twitch to like. "Preserve" the English version of the game. It was not very organized and I barely got anything done lol.

Then! Dragalia was shutting down, so i tried to kinda do the same thing. Dragalia was like 14 or 16 GB. So I kept snapchat deleted lol.

So I finally got the stupid corpse of the game off my phone and on an external hard drive, plus my save file from that game file extractor program someone put on github. I removed random photos from my phone and put them on an external hard drive. I finally have free space on my phone.

So should I re-download snapchat to see what my irl friends who I have not been in communication with for the past 3 or 4 years since covid lockdown lol. (My snapchat is for irl friends/college and high school classmates only.) (But also not having pressure to post stuff there for the past 3 years has been nice. But also I've not seen my friends for a very long time lol)
