hey guys what’s ur favorite thing to research
#i’ll go first i LOVE learning abt illnesses physical and mental ESPECIALLY how they were percieved/treated historically#it’s so interesting.. the physiology too ofc#when i was little i would spend forever just researching the black plague#my research skills weren’t great so i didn’t learn too too much but it was fun#i also used to watch a lot of those clickbaity ‘20 super rare diseases’ videos#bc i found it interesting#prion diseases are nifty too. they can incubate for up to like. 50+ years#crazy how much a misfolded protein can fuck you up tho. one piece snaps and the whole machine falls apart#when i was in elementary school i would watch the crash course ap psychology videos for fun#when we used them in my ap psych class i realized that baby me was learning college-level things abt depression lmao#shoutout to crash course psychology btw. got rid of a LOT of potential biases i could’ve grown up with#and helped me overcome the ones i still ended up having#OH i also love love love those ted-ed type animated videos abt the human body#immune system. healing process. that typa stuff#it’s so neat… did u know macrophages eat tattoo ink but can’t move while it’s in them#and that’s why tattoos will never go away#even if they fade from sun the pigment is kept there by our immune system#bc it sees it as an invader to protect the body from but cannot kill it#so it just kinda sits there bc it isn’t hurting anything#ALSO WE HAVE CELLS THAT WILL TELL SICK CELLS TO DIE SO THEY DON’T REPRODUCE VIRUSES#WOAH!!! that’s crazy#blood clots are formed by crisscrossing proteins in the blood

WangXian Fairytale AU
This was submitted to me by @thebdelliumlady
Based on ‘The Wild Swans.’
Once upon a time, the king of Yunmeng Jiang adopted his best friend’s son, WWX, and raised him alongside his two children. For the most part, the three had a happy childhood, though the queen was strict and cold. They all train to become cultivators. Everything was good, until the kingdom of Qishan Wen, invaded and Yunmeng was razed and the king and queen killed. WQ hated her family’s violence and saved the three Jiangs by convincing WC that WWX wasn’t worth killing and offering to curse JC and JYL. She tells WC that there is no way to reverse it and makes it sound really awful.
She turns JC and JYL into cranes and ensures that WWX escapes with the help of WN. She tells WWX that there is a way to break the curse, though it isn’t easy and will cost him. WWX agrees, of course. The counter curse requires him to learn demonic cultivation and the making of a potion with parts of monsters and dead bodies, ect.The hardest part is that once WWX vows to break the curse, he cannot speak one word or mention the curse until JC and JYL are human again. If he says even a word, they will become cranes forever.
WN offers to help by caring for the cranes until WWX can complete it. Discouraged, but unwilling to give up, WWX set out. He started learning demonic cultivation and collecting the ingredients for the counter curse. After many months of silence, WWX found an orphaned child, A-Yuan, and adopted him. After much toil and danger, WWX came down to the last few things he needs, and they are the hardest. The most difficult would be ice from the sacred cold spring cave of the Gusu Lan Kingdom of the Clouds. They guarded it heavily and it would be nearly impossible.
While trying to figure out how he might manage it, WWX was living in the woods near the mountain of Gusu Lan, he met a beautiful man who happened to be the younger brother of the king of Gusu Lan, LWJ. LWJ imprinted on the crazed hobo and his kid and brought them back to the palace. King LXC was amused and indulgent, as he understood the reasons behind LWJ’s motives and was just happy to see his brother opening up to someone. LQR was very suspicious of the shady, wild eyed, mute hobo his nephew found in the woods and orders some people to follow him.
WWX can’t believe is good luck. The beautiful prince let him live in the palace, so he could search for the caves. He also really liked LWJ and found ways to tease him without speaking. Everyone assumed LWJ had brought him home to be his concubine, but WWX was clueless. He spent his days with LWJ and A-Yaun and every night working on the counter curse.
After more than a year in Gusu (Sharing a home with LWJ), LQR’s men saw WWX doing something questionable in a graveyard and report to LXC. King LXC did not want to believe the worst of his brother’s lover and asked for more proof. Finally, WWX had everything for the spell except the ice from the sacred cold spring cave. WWX kept putting it off, bc he doesn’t want to leave LWJ. If he were less distracted and clueless, WWX would have realized he was in love with LWJ. LWJ has loved him since he found him in the woods.
With no other option, WWX manipulated LWJ into showing him the sacred cave before LWJ left to attend to diplomatic business in Lanling. That night, he sneaked back into the cave and added the ice to the bottle holding his counter curse. Just when the spell completed, LQR and his men arrested WWX and toss his private room. They found all his demonic cultivation stuff and assumed that WWX was planning to use demonic cultivation to kill LXC so that LWJ would become king and make WWX his royal consort.
Of course, WWX could not tell them the truth without ending any chance of his siblings returning to human. LXC did not want to execute WWX, but the evidence was very convincing. LQR was convinced that he was protecting his family and kingdom. With LWJ away, there was no one to help WWX. A-Yaun was cared for, of course. When LWJ heard about the arrest, he rushed back and got into a fight with some elders. LWJ was injured and only LXC could stop him. Injured, LWJ could not stop them from burning WWX for demonic cultivation.
LWJ was too hurt to fight more, but he drug himself out of bed to protest, even though he could hardly stand. Just as they light the pyre and execute WWX, two cranes swooped down and knocked the torches from their hands. WN appeared and explained about the curse. LXC was relieved and gave WWX the curse bottle so that he can free JC and JYL. Freed, the siblings were reunited and LWJ officially proposed. Everyone lived happily ever after.
Sorry this is kind of shitty, but my brain is fried. I just wanted to give you the idea. Maybe when I’m done with grad school, I’ll write this. I hope you like it!

Episode 43: The One where WWX is Soft for Children and Bunnies
we're still in the forbidden chamber
wwx has his detective cap on and is being clever
the lan bros are listening attentively as they should be
wwx: jgy is a sneaky conniving bastard blah blah he vandalizes evil music books blah blah
lots of boring plot talk basically
i'm sitting here like, *sigh* so pretty wwx so pretty
which is what i imagine lwj does all the time...
lol wwx goes to lxc and is like, no offense bro but jgy was a skilled spy during the war who was able to infiltrate and memorize wen ruohan's stuff in their secret chamber. invading this one would've been a piece of cake for him
and lxc is like well damn, guess i better test out all this evil music and see if it actually works
lxc: i'll just test the evil magic music on myself. yep. that way no one gets hurt and that couldn't possibly backfire on me at all
lwj: bro
lxc: bro. i gotta do this bro to clear my bae’s i mean friend's name
LOL lxc is like you all see jgy this way but i see him in a totally different way
YEAH WE KNOW, THAT'S THE PROBLEM
LOLOLOL OMG
lxc turns to gaze off into the middle distance and is like, the jgy in my heart is kind and benevolent blah blah
and behind him wwx crosses his arms and all but rolls his eyes LIKE DUDE YOU'RE COMING TO THE WRONG PERSON FOR SYMPATHY. I'M THE ONE THAT GOT KILLED FOR THINGS YOUR BF DID
oh this moment's interesting
lxc is like, can't you allow me to be cautious about making this decision?
and lwj takes a step towards him, ready to speak but wwx grabs his upper arm and stops him with a shake of his head
the look lwj gives him just before that was like why are you stopping me?
but wwx knows this isn't something you can push
lwj trusts wwx's judgment and holds back whatever he was going to say
i'm curious as to what he WAS going to tell his brother tho
now lwj is leaving to talk to their uncle and lxc is like, sure i'll take your soulmate back to your room for you
WE'RE GONNA GET SOME BABY!LWJ FLASHBACKS SOON OMG
IT'S GONNA HURT
wwx: since lan zhan isn't here, i wanna ask you about something
lxc: tell me
wwx: what are the whipping scars on lan zhan?
lxc: you don't know?
AND THEIR SONG STARTS PLAYING
wwx: i asked him but he didn't wanna say, so i'm asking you
lxc: yeah, if he doesn't think it's necessary he'll probably never talk about it so i'll tell you instead of respecting my little brother's decisions about his personal life
AND OKAY I'M GLAD HE DID BC IT GIVES US WANGXIAN MOMENTS BUT STILL!!
lxc: do you remember that one time when wn shot and killed your sister's husband?
on the one hand, HOW COULD HE FORGET but on the other hand, he forgets quite a lot of things actually...
lxc: after wq and the others turned themselves in...*cue flashback*
we're at the burial mounds, lwj is standing by himself before wwx's cave facing down a whole freaking squadron of cultivators
su she: *runs his mouth as if we actually care what he has to say*
lwj: *completely unfazed and expressionless* you are not qualified to speak to me
HELL FUCKING YEAH
WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE HOW EPIC THIS MOMENT IS
LOOK AT LWJ OWN THAT ICE PRINCE PERSONA TO STRIKE DOWN AN IMPUDENT ANT OF A PERSON
su she goes to draw his sword AS IF HE HAS ANY REAL CHANCE OF DEFEATING HANGUANG JUN IN A SWORD FIGHT
but jgy shows up with even MORE cultivators and then does that thing where he compliments the person inconveniencing him and takes control of the situation
jgy: oh hanguang jun is so honorable let's not search wwx's secret cave lab right now
BUT THE GREAT THING IS THAT LWJ DOESN'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE HIS PRESENCE
HE DOESN'T LOOK AT HIM OR SU SHE AT ALL
bc lwj is forever Better Than You.
fuck jgy
jgy: even if wwx is alive, the burial mounds is surrounded so there's no way he could come here without us noticing
he says this to lwj all mildly BUT YOU KNOW IT'S A THREAT
He bows (lwj STILL doesn't acknowledge him and it's GREAT) and walks away
then pauses (bc Drama) and is like oh, almost forgot, your uncle is waiting for you at the cloud recesses. And then he just leaves with all his cultivators
this is when lwj finally looks at jgy (or his back, at least since jgy is leaving)
We cut to the next scene that has lwj slamming the point of bichen in the the stone ground, arm bleeding
HE IS VISIBLY SWEATING AND TREMBLING
lxc: lwj made a mess and fought against everyone there
AND WE SEE LWJ FALL TO HIS KNEE, ONE ARM USING BICHEN AS SUPPORT WHILE THE OTHER RESTS ON THE GROUND
but the fall was gradual and jerky, like he was fighting it the whole way down.
As if the only reason he fell is bc he's used up every ounce his strength and energy he had in his body
lxc: uncle burst into anger and took him back home, punishing him with 300 lashes and repenting in the cold pond cave for 3 years
we cut to the cloud recesses, camera shot from above making lwj, who is kneeling before his uncle and surrounded by disciples, look small AS ~THEIR SONG~ STARTS PLAYING ON THE CELLO
his uncle orders them to start beating lwj
AND LWJ TAKES IT LIKE A CHAMP
he barely moves with each strike and MAN THAT DISCIPLE IS NOT HOLDING BACK
oooh, we see him do that fist clench thing which looks even more painful without bichen to grip tbh
dude lwj is clenching his jaw so hard.
like, he refuses to cry out in pain and it's gotta hurt bc he's bleeding already
lqr: what is rule 52 of the lan clan?
lwj: do not befriend evil
NO HESITATION. SAID IN A STRONG FIRM VOICE
AS IF HE WASN'T CURRENTLY GETTING BEATEN WITH A NIGHTMARE STICK
and lqr is all you have forgotten the fundamental laws of our clan, how can you have the nerve to face your ancestors like this!!
BUT LWJ IS NOT HAVING THAT
HE'LL TAKE THE BEATING BUT HE'S GOING TO MAKE HIS POINT
lwj: i dare ask you, grandmaster, who is right? who is wrong? what is black? what is white?
Bc our boy has learned! He’s learned NUANCE and CRITICAL THINKING and the existence of GRAY AREAS
BC WTF IS THE POINT OF ALL OF THESE STUPID RULES IF THEY DON'T PROTECT THE INNOCENT AND DEFENSELESS?
Bc his soulmate was right all along and he didn’t stand by him when he needed him most and now his soulmate is gone. His soulmate is gone. He’s GONE.
I'M GONNA MAKE MYSELF CRY
lqr: perfect! that's my good student
he does not say this happily. he is in fact SHOUTING this VERY ANGRILY
and here i wanna say, hey lqr, what's that rule about excessive noise...?
cue lwj's fist clench again, which sounds just as painful as the beating tbh
lqr: wangji, you have disappointed me
NOT AS MUCH AS YOU AND YOUR DAMN RULE-BOOK HAVE DISAPPOINTED HIM, YOU JERK
and here we see an ACTUAL VISIBLE SCOWL on our beautiful hanguang jun's face as he continues to be beaten
HOW ANGRY AND TORN UP MUST HE BE TO ACTUALLY SCOWL LIKE THAT??
cut to lwj kneeling at the ice table thing in the cold pond cave, robed in white and face blank but somehow still projecting an aura of cold fury
probably bc the rulebook open in front of him says "eradicate evil, establish laws, and goodness will be everlasting" and he knows that’s bullshit now
but actually this scene is visually very beautiful.
It’s all in misty shades of pale cold blue and white and everything’s spaced out in a way to emphasize how very very alone lwj is
cut back to the present with wwx and lxc
wwx grips his flute with both hands and looks down like he can't believe what he's hearing
lxc: when lwj was imprisoned i tried to persuade him...but he told me he considered you his confidant soulmate and believed in your integrity
wwx: why would he bother…?
his brow is furrowed and his voice is soft like he truly doesn't seem to understand why lwj would bother to do all that
and on the one hand i wanna scream IT'S BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU, YOU MORON
but on the other hand, everybody else in wwx's life, everyone else he loved, turned on him or died
and he probably truly believes he deserved all that, and that he is undeserving of lwj's unwavering faith
and then i cry
lxc: do you know what this place is?
shot of the entrance to the silence room aka the jingshi aka lwj's room
wwx: i don't
lxc: it's where our mother lived
wwx is hanging off his every word
lxc: you might find it strange that the wife of the clan leader didn't live with her husband in the frigid chamber
with a name like that i wouldn't want to live there either...
lxc: you might know that our father used to isolate himself for years, not caring about anything...
Not even his sons, apparently!
wwx: i do
and he explains that his father isolated himself bc of his mother or whatever
lxc: this place was more of a prison than a home
It was his mother’s prison. When did he figure that out? Was it when HE WAS STILL A KID??
DID HE FEEL GUILTY FOR SPENDING TIME WITH HIS  MOTHER KNOWING SHE WAS LOCKED UP AGAINST HER WILL??
THE LAN FAM IS SO FUCKED UP OMG
now he's telling us the whole tragic love story
it was love at first sight, he says and wwx is like ah yes, a typical romance
and lxc is like, uh no, she didn't love him back and she murdered his teacher, idk why tho
lxc: but i guess it's all about right and wrong, love and hate
Which is a major theme of the whole show, tbh
OH DAMN
now he's telling wwx about how his dad took his mom to cloud recesses and married her against the clan's approval and that he told them that this was the person he would love for a lifetime, that “whoever tried to drive her out would have to go through him first"
DOES ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR TO YOU, WWX?
RINGING ANY (WEDDING) BELLS?
DOES THIS REMIND YOU OF ANYTHING AT ALL, WWX?
"after the wedding my father built this house, and locked my mother up"
lxc says this all so calmly and gently, as if he were reading from a story book rather than reciting his immediate family's history
Which is probably a coping mechanism, tbh
this fam is so fucked up, have i mentioned?
lxc: do you understand why my father did all this?
wwx: *nod*
lxc: and do you think he did the right thing?
wwx: i don't know
well, i mean, he married her and locked her up against her will
granted she did murder someone but i get the feeling she probably had good reason to
and now he's telling wwx that they basically had no parents bc they were given off to others to raise them until they were old enough to attend their uncle's lessons
FLASHBACK TO BABY!LWJ READING TO HIS MAMA FROM A LAN CLAN BOOK
HE'S SO CUTE AND TINY AND HIS MAMA IS SO SOFT AND PRETTY.
SHE LOOKS AT HIM WITH SUCH LOVE, AND RUNS HER HAND THROUGH HIS HAIR SO GENTLY
lxc makes a point here to say that their mother never complained about her imprisonment or how painful it must've been to be trapped like that
BC THEIR MAMA LOVED THEM
lxc: lwj never said anything, but i knew he looked forward to the day we visited mother every month
HOW AWFUL IS THAT, TO BE RESTRICTED TO ONE DAY A MONTH TO SPEND WITH SOMEONE YOU LOVE???
Lxc: he did (look forward to seeing mom). and so did i.
cut to baby lwj kneeling in the snow, all little and by himself IN FRONT OF THE JINGSHI, AKA HIS MOM’S PRISON AKA PROBABLY HIS FAVORITE PLACE IN ALL THE CLOUD RECESSES
lxc: one day, uncle told us that we didn't need to go there anymore. mother had gone.
I'M GONNA CRY
HE'S SO LITTLE AND SAD AND HE'S KNEELING SO STILL WITH HIS TINY HANDS IN HIS LAP
like even lqr is moved bc he goes and puts a hand on his shoulder
lxc: we were too young to understand what that meant.
lxc: no matter how others consoled us or how uncle scolded him, lwj still came here every month. he would sit on that porch and wait for someone to open the door.
I'M SOBBING
LWJ HAS SPENT HIS WHOLE LIFE WAITING FOR THE PEOPLE HE LOVES
He’s kept himself still and stalwart ever since he was a kid so that if his loved one chose to come back, he’d still be there for them
I'M HURTING SO MUCH
HE JUST WANTED THEM TO COME BACK AND THINK HE WAS WORTH STAYING FOR.
GOD I HATE CRYING. I'M A SNOTTY MESS RN
Lxc: when we got older we realized that she would never come back. that no one would ever open the door for him. but he still came.
FUCK
GOD DAMN IT
STOP HURTING ME SO MUCH, WHAT THE HELL
lxc: lwj has always been stubborn since he was very young
lxc: back then, he watched you learn crafty tricks. he didn't say anything, but i knew...that the pain and confusion in his heart was the same as what he felt for our mother
MY GOD, JUST BEAT ME WITH THOSE NIGHTMARE STICKS INSTEAD. THAT WOULD HURT LESS THAN THIS.
wwx's eyes are all red-rimmed and his brow is all pinches and HE JUST SWALLOWED BACK THE LUMP IN HIS THROAT
THE SAME ONE I HAVE RIGHT NOW AS I CRY AND CRY AND CRY
and lxc is like, well, that's enough intense conversation for now, imma do a flute solo
~flute sounds~
and now he's like i tried to persuade lwj before but now that i'm in his shoes it turns out making a decision isn't actually easy to do?? who'd have thought?
oh here comes lwj, all straight-backed and regal as always but no jewelry in his hair! no topknot! he looks so different this way
AND HE HAS TWO JARS OF EMPEROR'S SMILE WITH HIM
AND ~THEIR SONG~ IS PLAYING AGAIN
oh, the way he holds it out to wwx, like an offering at an altar...
cut to inside the jingshi, we get to see him uncap one of the jars and pour a drink out for his soulmate.
like, the camera is specifically focused on his hands
which, hey, i’ve seen the tags ppl, i know some of you are Into That so take the time to enjoy this
then we get a shot of all of him and he looks so so soft and exposed and vulnerable  here?? with his hair down in his own room, pouring a drink for his wei ying
it's beautiful
wwx walks in and watches as lwj starts to pour himself a cup of tea
THIS IS A LOT.
~Their Song~ playing sweetly, no other sounds except the quiet clinks of the cups and teapot. And all of lwj’s actions are just...light
wwx: lan zhan…
GOD I JUST WANT TO SCREENCAP THIS WHOLE SCENE
the shot of lwj here, while he’s focused on pouring his tea.
the way his head is angled and the wisps of his hair frame his face.
he takes up a good portion of the screen without seeming domineering or forceful, just...peacefully existing in the space
and then we cut back to wwx's face, his mouth open as he takes a breath
He wants to say something, anything, but you can see on his face that he can't make the words come
Like he doesn’t want to disturb the moment with whatever he was going to say, bc it’s a fragile moment
and then this brief literally-2-seconds shot of lwj to the right, sitting at the table
the table is set up so beautifully with the jars of emperor's smile and their cups. and he's looking up and the lighting AND AHHHHHH
IT'S JUST A VERY BEAUTIFUL TWO SECONDS AND I'VE STARED AT IT FOR MUCH TOO LONG ALREADY
lwj: what?
and wwx can't even really return his gaze. he looks just as vulnerable here but, unlike lwj, he also looks awkward, like he’s nervous in his vulnerability same ,wwx, same
wwx tries to say thank you but it comes out stuttered and soft while lwj watches him patiently
wwx mumbles to himself "it's awkward to say it out loud" and his eyes flicker back and forth for a second as his mouth pinches, agitated
BC IT IS MEGA AWKWARD
FEELINGS ARE AWKWARD
AND AS LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS WWX CAN BE, IT'S NEVER ABOUT HIS FEELINGS.
wwx: *clears throat* i mean...the burden on your brother's shoulders is tremendous
smooth transition, wwx, very smooth
but at least it allowed him the chance to sit at the table with lwj
wwx: after all, jgy is his sworn brother. if i were him...
he trails off awkwardly and it feels even MORE awkward bc the background music just ends suddenly and it's silent for us, the audience
lwj doesn't say anything and instead gently moves the cup of wine towards wwx.
once that's done he says "if there's evidence, my brother won't tolerate it."
but he doesn't look at wwx and his face is somber
wwx: that's true. he's got his principles
finally lwj looks at him
lwj: you didn't tell him.
wwx: tell him what?
lwj: about the flute on qiongqi way
wwx: you know about that?
lwj: i asked wen ning. he said he heard a second flute
wwx: i thought i was hearing things until nightless city *insert flashback here*
cut to next scene. wwx is standing just outside the jingshi doors with a jar in his hand as it snows
lwj steps up next to him and ~THEIR SONG~ STARTS PLAYING
they're still talking about the flute and how wwx is confident now that there was a second one used to frame him basically. he's quietly angry here.
lwj immediately says it was jgy but wwx responds with "maybe, maybe not"
lwj looks at him, "you don't want to know the answer?"
bc lwj does. he wants to know who framed his soulmate, causing the suffering that lead to his death
wwx: at first i really wanted to but now i just want to say, 'whatever. screw it!'
he says with a laugh and then takes a swig from his wine jar
wwx put down that wine jar, you've obviously had too much already.
wwx: lan zhan, i actually think whether i know the answer or not won't be of much importance for me. after all, in ppl's minds, the yiling patriarch did bad things. even if i expressed my grievances, people still won't trust me
and he smiles
MY POOR SUNSHINE BOY
He says, "Sometimes the world only needs an excuse or target that everyone can hate"
PAINFULLY TRUE
and then he says something along the lines that it doesn't matter, if he wasn't made the target, someone else would have been
BASICALLY HE'S JUST VERY DISILLUSIONED HERE
THE WORLD SHOULD FEEL ASHAMED FOR DISAPPOINTING HIM
now we hear the sound of a guqin playing ~Their Song~
lwj at his guqin playing their song to soothe his soulmate
wwx: *voiceover* i was lonely back then. the few who believed in me were dead, wen ning, jyl. Luckily…
and here we get the crescendo of the opening theme as we cut to lwj.
the voiceover changes from wwx to lwj
lwj: in this world, there is still someone who trust you
I'M HAVING A LOT OF FEELINGS RIGHT NOW
voiceover switches back to wwx and we get a shot of wwx watching lwj play
wwx: lan zhan, i toast to you. i'm glad to have one true friend
SO MANY FEELINGS
and then i get distracted as wwx does that thing where he pours wine into his mouth and spills half of it down his VERY INDECENTLY EXPOSED THROAT
shot of lwj thinking: for nothing else but a clean conscience
shot of wwx thinking: no matter how they slander me, i know i have a clean conscience
EVEN THEIR THOUGHTS ARE IN SYNC OMG
AND ~THEIR SONG~ IS STILL PLAYING BUT NOW IT'S THE GUQIN AND THE FLUTE COMING TOGETHER
wwx gazes tenderly at lwj and whispers: lan zhan. i'm sorry...and thank you
AND WE GET THE ACTORS’ VOCALS ADDED IN TO ~THEIR SONG~ AS LWJ LOOKS UP AND SEES WWX WATCHING HIM
AND I'M HAVING SO MANY FEELINGS
I WOULD LIKE TO GET DISTRACTED BY WWX'S INDECENTLY EXPOSED THROAT AGIAN PLZ
cut to the next day with lxc meditating and our boys hiding behind a privacy screen
lwj is in perfect posture, eyes closed and meditating calmly while wwx keeps listing to the side and jolting awake bc meditating IS FOR NERDS
lol except this time he lists to the opposite side and falls into lwj's shoulder with a cute little gasp
lwj gives him a look and wwx quickly arranges himself into a sloppy lotus pose
jgy walks in and our boys are immediately on alert peeking through the privacy screen
(which actually isn't all that private. you can see through half of it??)
now we get a moment for lxc and jgy in which jgy returns the jade token and it’s, like, a Thing
BUT WE DON'T CARE ABOUT THEM
LET'S SEE OUR BOYS' REACTION TO WHAT JGY HAS TO SAY
wwx is watching lwj as jgy says something about how they don't have info on lwj and wwx yet and lwj closes his eyes against the news
i think he's upset he's placed his brother in this position...
now we're informed that there are active puppets in the burial mounds
lxc is like, well it can't be wwx bc he was stabbed
and jgy is like he's been stabbed before and controlled puppets alright then!
meanwhile wwx behind the screen scoffs and thinks "they think too highly of me"
also, like, jgy was trying to get lxc to give them up by saying how lwj would be safe bc of his great reputation
Honestly, it really just goes to show that these people don't actually care about your actions. they've made their assumptions and they'll stick to them no matter what and IT'S SUPER FRUSTRATING
plot talk plot talk sworn trio moment plot talk
now lxc is off to carp tower while our boys prepare for a field trip to the burial mounds
LIL APPLE AND THE BUNNIES!!
our boys are by a stream and there's bunnies all over the place and wwx is telling lil apple they're leaving
~THEIR SONG~ STARTS UP AGAIN
AHHHHHHHHH, LOOOK!!! THERE’S TEENY TINY SMILE ON LWJ'S FACE AS HE PUTS DOWN BICHEN TO PICK UP ONE OF THE BUNNIES
EVERYTHING IS ADORABLE
WWX GETS THAT LITTLE MISCHIEVOUS SMILE ON HIS FACE AS HE GOES TO POKE THE BUNNY
AND HE MAKES SILLY NOISES AT IT AND IS ALL INSULTED THAT THE BUNNY DOESN'T REACT
SO CUTE!!
wwx: see? they only like you *pout* they're only loyal to their owner
so lwj wordlessly hands over the bunny BC IF HIS SOULMATE WANTS BUNNIES, HIS SOULMATE IS GETTING BUNNIES
the bunny wriggles and wwx is like "don't try to run. you can never run away from me. stay here bunny!"
IT'S SO CUTE I'M GONNA DIE
HE'S JUST PETTING THE BUNNY ALL OVER AND USING A PLAYFUL VOICE WHILE TALKING TO IT AND EVERYTHING IS WONDERFUL
Don’t be jealous of a bunny don’t be jealous of a bunny don’t be jealous of a bunny
wwx looks over to lwj: lan zhan, it's so strange. i know we're going on a dangerous mission but i don't feel scared at all
then he goes back to the bunny and wiggles it around SO CUTELY: do you think it's strange too? what do you think?
AND HE'S GOT THE BIGGEST SMILE
lwj: it's getting late. let's go
wwx: okay *pets bunny* little bunny, we're leaving~
THIS SHOW SHOULD ONLY EVER BE ABOUT BUNNIES, I'VE DECIDED
BUNNIES DON'T HURT ME
now we cut to them at the entrance of the cloud recesses
lil apple is being stubborn and the bunnies are on the steps
wwx: they hate to see you go.
and wwx looks at lwj all playfully
wwx: i never thought that hanguang jun would be so popular among the little animals
and then he finishes with AN ADORABLE LITTLE POUT: bc i'm not
lwj: why not?
wwx: all little animals regardless of their habitat run when they see me. isn't that right lil apple? *proceeds to bully the donkey*
lwj: *walks off bc he does not condone animal abuse or smth*
wwx: wait for me hanguang jun!!
NOW WE'RE ON A DIRT PATH
LWJ IS HOLDING THE LIL APPLE'S LEAD WHILE WWX RIDES LIL APPLE
HE’S PLAYING HIS FLUTE AND THEN STARTS PLAYING ~THEIR SONG~!!!!
AND LWJ LOOKS TOWARDS HIM HIS EYES ALL TENDER AND FULL OF LOVE
WWX IS SMILING WHILE HE PLAYS
EVERYTHING IS STILL WONDERFUL
LWJ HAS ONE OF HIS ALMOST-SMILES ON HIS FACE
wwx: lan zhan, i wanna know, back in the murder turtle cave, what was the name of the song you sang to me?
lwj: why do you ask?
wwx: just tell me the name. i think i've figured out how you recognized me
wwx: tell me what song it is. who's the composer?
lwj: me
wwx: so you composed it?!
lwj: hm
wwx: what's the name then?
THIS IS SUCH A CAREFREE PLEASANT CONVERSATION AND I LOVE IT

I rewatched RWBY and decided rewriting it klance version would spread the pain bc if I had to go through it so do the rest of you Pyrrha: Keith Jaune: Lance Cinder: Lotor Ruby: Allura (bc she tote would have silver eye powers) (I switch out “maiden” for “Knight” simply bc the lore states men can’t be maidens and since Lotor is the antagonist I made an adjustment to fit the lore)
---------
He didn’t want to do it. He didn’t want to leave a distressed, confused Lance behind, his stance screaming to follow Keith rather than turn around to the bigger fight at hand. But what could he do besides the right thing? Besides put his all into delaying the inevitable. At least give enough time for the survivors of beacon to escape. For Lance to make it home in one piece. Even as they were running out of the building, leaving Alfor to fend off against Lotor Keith knew he was no match to whatever Lotor had become. After taking in the Fall Knight’s he became indescribably powerful. Enough so to beat the headmaster, using his stolen power to continue the Grimm attack and wreak death and violence on the rest of the world.
He couldn’t stand on the sidelines. Not after being exposed to the existence of the knights and now Alfor’s most likely death.
If Lotor made it to the top of the tower, that means Alfor is dead. And they in turn will be dead if someone doesn’t go up and ceases his bloodshed.
Keith did not make his way in the top ranks of Beacon just to watch behind glass, knowing he could intervene. Knowing he could do what it takes to save the people he loves.
Even if it costs him his life.
"Alfor...” Lance whispers, watching up at what used to be the headmaster’s tower, shock and fear laced in his tone. “He...”
“He’s gone.” Keith finishes, morose. “Whatever Lotor is, whatever power he stole, it was enough to beat Alfor.”
Lance frowns. “Keith, What the hell is Lotor? What did Alfor mean by Fall Knight? There is no one on the planet with that power. And the only time we have heard of the Knights is in fairy tales--”
“That’s because it isn’t a fairy tale.” Keith says, looking at his device to summon his empty weapon carrier. “What you saw was someone who forcefully stole a power that is bigger than our aura. Something larger than the age old, lost ability of Dust.”
“Woah woah woah,” Lance waves his hands in the air. “You’re telling me HE can use DUST? Who made themself a Knight?”
Keith clenches his jaw, thinking back on the arrow lodged into the previous Fall Knight’s chest, their eyes wide and unseeing as their life force was drained to the last drop. Their body slumped, and while Keith prayed they would take a breath and hold the potential to beat Lotor, his hope dwindled as the body cooled.
“He didn’t make himself anything. He killed for it.” And he will kill again if nothing is done.
Lance focuses his gaze up, the sound of Lotor traveling to the top reverberating off the walls, a warning of the abilities he now wields. He killed for it. Destroyed the school and a life for what does not belong to him. The Grimm invading what is left of the school’s barriers, the murder of a fellow student, the carnage he inflicted upon innocent students and faculty, a trail of blood left behind their soaked footsteps. No one capable of so much disregard to the lives at stake should not be left with the storm roiling in their tainted veins.
“We need to get help.” Lance states, looking at Keith. “If Alfor was aware of the Knight’s existence, Coran may know someone who can rival their power.”
Keith doesn’t look at him. “There already is.”
“Great, then lets go find Coran so he can retrieve them.”
“It’s...Coran can’t do anything.”
Lance, confused by Keith’s contradicting words, turns his full attention to him. Keith is a few feet away, his eyes dull and void, a statue staring at the scenery displayed before them, frozen in time and thought. His indigo eyes, so bright and practically like starlight in a sea of black, is snuffed out by a force Lance cannot decipher. There is something Keith isn’t telling him. An emotion that goes beyond mourning Alfor and Beacon; a certain tilt of his brows that indicate Keith has a plan burrowing in the deepest part of his mind. It has only been present when Keith was talking to him a week ago, asking strange questions.
Asking Lance if he would still see him as a friend if he wasn’t the same person Lance knew; if his soul changed. It was a strange question to ask Lance. One he did not fully comprehend, for how can a soul change when the person obviously knows who they are?
He spoke as if he was going to be experimented on.
As if--
It hits Lance like a ton of bricks.
“No, no, no,” Lance shoves his body in front of Keith, getting very up close and personal with the surprised boy. “I know what you’re thinking, mullet. And you are not going to face Lotor.”
“Lance--”
“Did you not see how he came out of the fight unchanged?” Lance yells, motioning with one arm up towards the heavens. “He beat Alfor, a PROFESSIONAL HUNTER. Someone better than Allura, better than you.”
“Lance,” Keith whispers. “I know what I’m doing.”
“Obviously you don’t! You saw how powerful he is, you can’t go up there!”
“That isn’t for you to decide.”
“UM, yeah, it is as your friend who doesn’t want to add another number to the body count! He took another step towards Keith, close enough he can smell the soot lingering on his hair from the two abandoning the fight for safety earlier. “We are leaving for actual help and that is final.”
Keith has been avoiding Lance’s look, not wishing to be pulled by those mesmerizing azures. He didn’t want to give in to his pained heart, afraid he would back out of his decision. But if he were to go through with it and Lance ended up right, he wants to have one last moment with Lance. One last look at the person he held most dear to him, even if he isn’t fully aware of just how much in those moments. Keith is about to sacrifice everything for the greater good, the least he could give himself is one last gift; one single second of pure love and unlatch those chains and shackles he had locked around his beating heart.
His pulse quickens, but he does not back down. He can already hear the empty locker nearing their destination, the hum of gears and fire being the only sound permeating the atmosphere if one listens carefully. He doesn’t have much time, internally saying sorry to Lance.
So he lifts his head to the boy opposite of him, the one he butted heads with their first semester. The goofy yet determined boy Keith trained, remembering their long night of sparring and wrestling to aid Lance in improving his sword mastery. The beautiful man he danced with at the ball, spinning him around among lights mirroring snow’s tears and a star’s explosion, leaving Keith breathless. The person who accepted Keith for who he is, looking past his elite history and deeming him not as some untouchable God, but just a student trying to get by and make a difference. Just like him.
Slowly, Keith gives him a sad smile and, with one swift movement, takes him by his shoulders and kisses him. It is not hard nor desperate, but a soft caress of his lips, a taste of what he can offer. Of what he could have offered, if worst comes to shove. Keith closes his eyes, basking in the gentleness as Lance--surprised but not disgusted--kisses him back. It is a small push, but enough to satisfy Keith.
They stay like that until the locker lands, that being Keith’s cue to let go and embrace his warrior status. His armored hand, lightly holding Lance to him, tightens and flings him in the locker. The boy’s eyes widen in shock, Keith forcing himself to shut and lock the metal container as soon as Lance is starstruck.
Lance bangs on the locker, his lithe frame throwing itself against the lock.
“What the--Keith!” He bangs again, frantically staring at Keith through the slits. “Keith don’t do this! Please don’t--”
“I’m so sorry,” Keith says, hushed and aching on the inside. His fingers are cold as they input the location for the locker to fly to, the stinging in his eyes growing almost unbearable. “Protect the others.”
He stands back, the fuel for the locker revving itself up again.
Lance continues to bang on the locker, cursing and screaming for Keith to stop.
“Keith I’m begging you, don’t do this!”
Keith just gazes up at him, the words on his lips dying as Lance registers what he is saying by a single, last look.
I love you. Goodbye.
And as Keith turns away and marches to the tower before him, the screams of Lance rings in his ears, his breaking heart stabbing Keith with its shards.
-------------------
“Lance, what is it? Where are you?” Allura asks, seeing her communicator go off and display Lance’s icon. Relief floods her, happy to see he is alright. Most likely Keith too, since they went off together.
“There is a cargo ship--”
“Allura you need to stop him!” Lance yells through the communicator, Allura frowning in confusion.
“Wait, Lance what do you mean? Who are you talking about?”
“Keith! It’s Keith! He--fucking shit--he is going to the tower to face Lotor. He doesn’t stand a chance, you need to stop him!”
The cool wave of calm freezes, ice crackling its way into her body. Keith. Lotor. The tower. No, this cannot be. Keith is an exceptional fighter, but Lotor is a whole different level. He hurt her friends--most likely hurt her father--all without breaking a sweat. What the hell is he thinking.
Shiro, who is next to her during this conversation, widens his eyes. “What?”
Allura puts on her best warrior voice, ignoring the horrible dread plaguing her mind. “Lance, I hear you. But where are you? Are you alright?”
“DON’T WORRY ABOUT ME!” Lance screams at the top of his lungs. “Go get Keith before he gets himself killed!”
Allura heard a hitch in his voice, a sob etching its way into existence before Lance lets out a frustrated scream and the connection goes dead. Allura yells Lance’s name, but already knows she has lost contact.
Now she must hurry, before it is too late.
--------------------
Keith couldn’t move. His vision is blurry, his body aching and his aura depleted into nothing. He gasped for air, the pain in his calve excruciating. His shield missed Lotor’s arrow, its dust form activating and went right through Keith’s attempt at blocking the attack. His body couldn’t handle more damage. His aura, always thriving because he was careful in its use, can no longer help him in stopping Lotor.
He met his match, and there is nothing Keith can do about it.
Lotor, bathing in his victory, smiles to himself and forms a bow and arrow, taking aim at Keith’s heart.
“Any last words, Champion?”
Keith doesn’t know why, but the words came out without a thought. He levels his eyes with navy blue, glaring up at the threatening figure in defiance. Though he may be  dead man, he knows one thing: fate does not favor the wicked.
“Tell me. Do you believe in destiny?”
Lotor grew serious.
“Yes.”
With that, he lets go of his prepped arrow, the sharp, minuscule dagger piercing Keith’s chest. Keith’s eyes grew big, the ache bursting into white hot agony as his insides are engrossed in unseen fire. He gasps and tries to form words, tries to yell out curses—anything really—but all he can utter is a choke before he gives in to his fatal wound, his vision dissolving into darkness. He is so far gone he cannot even feel his body be dissolved into dust, Lotor’s hand a kiss of death as he slowly scatters to the wind.
His last thought is of Lance, and how he will never be able to dance with him again.

The Tenth Plague
Tumblr media
By the spring of 1483 BC, Egypt was in the dreadful throes of the first five plagues cast down upon them by the God of Abraham. People sweltered and anguished beneath the summer sun, amidst the rot, the frogs, the lice and the carrion flies—and the Nile still ran crimson from the city of Swenett to the delta. Like veins, the red river bled into the smaller irrigation canals and killed every crop it touched. Starvation followed soon after for the humans and livestock, but not for the crocodiles that emerged from the river to pick through the carcasses of dead cattle.
Then, just when it seemed that the great Kingdom of Egypt couldn't become any more of a foetid hellscape, the boils came, as though the pestilence had been swept in by the Northern wind. The sixth plague set upon the population in a few short days, making quick work of the poor before overwhelming the upper rungs of Egyptian society as well. Soon, the beautiful faces of the Pharaohs Harem were marred by the pox; accompanied soon by every priest in the temple and every guard at the palace doors. Even the Pharaoh eventually succumbed to the sixth Plague.
Even while he clawed at his unsightly face in agony, he refused to surrender to the false God who lorded over him, regardless of the hells that would be inflicted upon the Kingdom. Instead, the Pharaoh sent troops to raid the slave settlements, where they terrorised the residents and hung the conspirators and instigators from the gallows.
God watched from above, enraged by the indignance of the Pharaoh; so He responded in kind and sent the most feared of his children to the palace at Thebes.
She came at dusk, entering the royal residence and bypassing the guards like mist through their fingers. Even in the humidity of summer, the Pharaoh and his advisors felt the chills as she approached, though they knew not from whence it came. The sun vanished beyond the horizon, and the city became dark, save for the light of the torches, when a pair of silver eyes opened amidst the shadows of the hypostyle hall. The owner of said eyes stepped closer and closer. Each step brought them nearer to the light of the torch.
The Pharaoh summoned close his guards as the disembodied stare was joined by a pallid face, followed by great lengths of white hair, and then a body swathed in black cloth. It was a woman, but not at all in the traditional sense, not like the women of his Kingdom. Though her waxen skin appeared young, something about the woman struck him as ancient and alien; whether it was her piercing gaze or the regal way in which she moved as if she was balancing a heavy crown upon her immaculate silver head. The woman seemed to glide into view—grey eyes flashing dangerously and thin lips drawn into a tight line.
“Who is it that breaks into the palace to demand an audience with a King?” the Pharaoh answered, barely containing his rage.
“My name is not important, God King,” She replied truthfully.
The Pharaoh’s guards moved, thrusting their sharpened spears towards her, only to find themselves disarmed by an invisible force and launched back against the wall behind them. The Pharaoh watched on as their fragile bodies collided with the solid stone; their bones cracking and flesh tearing on impact.
“Are words such a threat to you?” Azrael inquired as she lowered her hands.
“Guards!” The Pharoah cried out for reinforcements as the women advanced.
“This message is four hundred years overdue,” She said. “And you will listen.”
“Message about what?” Thutmose demanded, eyes narrowed and jaw tense.
“The Israelites you are using to build the naval bases at Perunefer,” Azrael explained.
“You must be an associate of Moses and the other instigators.” Thutmose hissed with venom in his voice.
“I’ve come to tell you that you have exactly two weeks from now to release them from servitude.” Azrael declared, ignoring the Pharaoh’s belligerence.
“You have no power, no place to demand such actions from me.” Thutmose raised his voice.
“I will return on the eve of the fourteenth night. If the Israelites are still enslaved, then I will strike down your eldest son and heir in his prime, and I’ll do the same to every first-born within the realms of your kingdom.” Azrael warned in an ominous voice just as all the torches were extinguished.
“Empty threats from a powerless God.” The Pharaoh spat, even as he itched at his face.
“You cannot own a soul,” Azrael answered, her stare gradually becoming more malevolent.
“I am King, I can own whatever I want,” Thutmose replied arrogantly.
“A King is a man.” Azrael snapped. “You are a man, weak like your Father and his Father.”
“How dare you.” Thutmose barked.
Azrael’s thin, pale lips twisted up into a smirk, and she laughed low in her throat. When the torches re-ignited, Azrael was gone.
A fortnight of violent thunderstorms and locusts passed, and still, the Pharaoh refused to surrender his ownership of the Israelites. He would not bow or show fear to a foreign God, even if his skin itched and his apartments were filled with frogs and locusts. So, the royal family prepared for bed, foolishly believing they were safe with triple the guards at their doors. The princes went to their heavily guarded rooms, the royal women of the harem settled into their quarters, and the king retired to his large apartment.
Meanwhile, the slave settlements and slums belonging to the Israelites were closing down ahead of the sunset. They painted lambs blood on their doors, bolted them shut and locked the wooden shutters over the windows, for they knew that Azrael was coming.
In the distance, thunder echoed, and lightning flashed. Another storm, an especially dark one this time. Moses waited, listening to the wind and the shutters rattling against the locks.
They knew when Azrael had entered the city. They felt it in their bones. The temperature dropped to the point that each one of them could see their own breaths like smoke in the light of the oil lamp. There was silence, absolute dead silence.
Suddenly, a shadow passed in front of the moonlight outside and the oil lamps went out in the huts, leaving them in darkness. Every man, woman and child, whether they knew it or not, stopped breathing. Though they were protected and they tried not to be petrified by the presence of an Archangel, fear nonetheless overcame them.
One little girl peered through a crack in the shutter to see all the lights in the city going out. Every torch, every oil lamp, every flame turning to darkness. Her young eyes scanned to the right and fell upon none other than the haunting image of Archangel Azrael.
She seemed to glide across the floor like a phantom, trailing long black robes behind her. The little girl could not see her face from where she peered through the shutters. All she could see was the lower jaw of a pallid woman peaking out from beneath a black hood. Immediately, Azrael's silver glare turned and locked on to the narrow crack in the shutter that the little girl had been using to spy on her, causing the little girl to gasp and pull away.
When the little girl plucked up the courage to glance back, Azrael was gone.
By the early hours of the morning, before the sun appeared on the horizon, all of Egypt was dealt with in the same calculating and emotionless efficiency as every order Azrael undertook. Corpses lay in almost every home, from Thebes to Memphis to Heliopolis, waiting to be discovered by their parents or guardians—all save for one.
Azrael still had to complete the most critical task, the winning move in the four hundred year game of chess the Pharaoh’s family had been playing against God. So, she entered the royal residences in darkness, invisible and silent.
No locked door or guard could stop her. The guards couldn’t even see her, let alone prevent her from getting into the room of Prince Rameses. She navigated the ornately carved stone halls and grand rooms with ease, with deadly intent, passing pillars and sculptures of Amun painted with gold leaf.
Within sixty seconds of entering the extravagant complex of the Pharaohs, Azrael was standing at the bedside of seven-year-old Prince Rameses, the future Pharaoh and successor to his ailing Father Thutmose II. He slept peacefully, probably dreaming about ruling over a great nation and commissioning elaborate building projects constructed upon the backs of slaves. Another God King, another man arrogant enough to believe the lie of his forefathers.
They were just men with egos the size of a planet and the world did not need more of them, but her personal opinions didn’t matter. All that mattered was following her orders. Azrael held her stilled hand flat just above the boy’s chest, never showing hesitance or remorse. His heart fluttered and stopped, and his skin paled in a matter of moments.
The future King was dead.
Azrael retracted her hand swiftly and wheeled around towards the door, black robes sweeping about her. The quicker she left, the better. The whole city stunk of death, rotting flesh and blood in the humid night air, even without all the fresh bodies.
When the sun rose, terrible screams echoed across the land, in the streets of every city, through the valley of the kings and across the red sea. Mournful cries from mothers in their homes disturbed the morning, waking those who hadn’t yet discovered what horror had befallen Egypt.
Thutmose burst through the doors of his apartments to hear the hysterical shrieks of Iset, the pregnant mother of Rameses. Despite his ailments, the Pharaoh sprinted down the hall towards the Prince’s room. What he set eyes on when he turned the corner made his blood run cold.
There, Iset cradled the corpse of his son, his only living heir. Tears ran down her pox-ridden face as she rocked him back and forth, howling so loud that Thutmose felt a ringing in his ears. He dropped to his knees, a blank look in his eyes. How could it be? How could a foreign God invade his kingdom, his city, his palace? How could that woman enter and leave his palace like a ghost?
“My son! My son!” Iset shrieked over and over.
Outside, the screams were the same as chaos overcame the city. Crowds of grief-stricken Egyptians had swarmed at the palace gates.
“Your majesty, what do we do.” One of his advisors spoke sheepishly.
But the Pharaoh did not answer, for all he could hear was Iset’s screams.
It took seventy days for the Prince’s body to be embalmed and prepared for burial at the Mortuary Complex. Thousands upon thousands of corpses from Egypt’s lower classes had already been buried in the ground, and God personally drowned the entire Egyptian army in the Red Sea. It was truly a grim atmosphere all across Egypt. Defeated, Thutmose returned to Thebes accompanied by several dozen surviving soldiers. Upon returning, he had to send his son to the afterlife.
In the noonday sun, the procession for Prince Rameses traversed the valley with offerings, luxurious furniture, jewellery, chariots and statues. The Pharaoh and Iset walked at the head of the procession, leading their son’s sarcophagus up the long ramp towards the magnificent mortuary complex, the resting place of Pharaohs before.
Thutmose cast an eye towards the cliff above, and there stood Azrael, still swathed in black robes billowing in the wind. Although a hood overshadowed half her face, he could still feel her watching him with those silver eyes, as if Azrael and her Father hadn’t already made their point.
There was true, unmistakable malevolence present in the dark figure standing atop the towering limestone cliffs. It wasn’t hate in her eyes, it was just the absence of love that frightened him. He looked back down at the approaching entrance to Deir El-Bahri. Here he would say farewell to his son, like so many fathers had done in the past weeks.
I will see you once more in the afterlife.

I do really like how Allen, Road and Tyki have all developed w/each other. I think post Ark interactions really stand out. Despite everything they've all done to each other (Allen and Tyki awakening sides of each other that forced them away from a part of their life. Tyki killing Allen. Road torturing Allen and later forcing him to fight his friend. Allen hurting Road's family) no one seems to hold a grudge. It's like for these 3 they're like yeah we get it we're enemies it happens. Well the-
2 Noah more then Allen. But Allen is surprisingly more chill w/them compared to how he is w/other Noah+Earl (you'd think what they've put him through it wouldn't be that way). He tolerates them invading his personal space more more then you'd think. In the Alma Ark Road keeps him sane inside Kanda's mind and he doesn't mind her latching on to him (In fact there's a cute panel of him getting scared and grabbing her and she smiling happily over it). He sees her feeling pity over the 2nds -
3 experiments. She cradles him after the Apocryphos's attack reassures him he's safe. She risks her life taking a heavy blow for him and he reacts w/a lot of concern over her. Before she dissapears she tells Allen more about Mana and Neah and repeats the keep walking motto to encourage Allen (I thought it was a neat parallel of Road vanishing twice on Allen after being hurt. In the Ark her body was burnt to a crisp in front of him and Allen didn't even blink. But when the injuries from the -
4 Apocryphos finally get to her form, Allen yells her name and reaches out to her. There's definitely sone softening from his side too. Helps she hasn't done anything directly negative to him since the Ark. Tyki is the one who fights Allen and he stops when it's unnecessary. Like Road, he shows he does value Allen as much as he can. He advices Allen to walk his own path while also being the face of welcoming Alken into the family. He does show he's protective in a weird way.
YEAH THAT’S VERY TRUE.
I think it’s mostly the Noah that don’t hold grudge per se, and Allen kinda rolls with it bc for enemies at least they don’t keep stressing him out - but yeah in the end it did end up with Even Allen extending how much he cares for them.
I mean even his fight against Tyki! he didn’t want to kill him he wanted to remove the Noah part of him, because he had friends waiting for him after all. That’s also why he tried to save him in the end, despite Tyki not showing him any mercy when he destroyed his innocence. In fact those two events do parallel each other well in that regard.
And yea the more the plot moves forward... I guess it just ended up getting more friendly with each other at this point. That they all realize that they’re enemies in teh war and they stand by their chosen sides, they won’t betray their sides for each other, but they will help each other if they can.
And guuuh yea to everything you say. Their dynamic evolved so much?? Tyki and Road show their appreciation far more, and while Allen kinda keep the whole “we’re enemies” distance he cannot help but care and cling to them or eventually feel distressed when they’re hurt. And it makes for such a good dynamic in between our heroes and “our villains”.
It’s just so fascinating to see they’ve come to trying to kill each other, with the villains torturing Allen, to them all just all the round way caring about each other.
they have a fascinating dynamic orz
can’t add more than you already said though ;’D
Take care!
