Most of the time! I usually respond to friends/ people I know well, or if someone pointed out something specific in my fic they liked. And I responded to every comment made on my West Wing fic so far bc I want the fandom to notice me😅

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

lol I don’t write many fics with angsty endings (I do like writing angst sometimes but I need things to end happily😅) but I guess this would be Baby Blue, If I Could Only Break the Sky, or When We Were Whole (not sure which one would be the most angsty)

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

so many! lol but I wanna single out Coda bc it was my attempt at wrapping up the mytharc and giving Mulder and Scully a happy ending with William (and giving Samantha’s storyline some actual closure lmao) and I think I did a decent job of it🤗

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I did get a hateful comment on a fic not long ago (ironically, it was and still is my most popular fic by almost every metric so someone was clearly jelly lmao) and I’ve had a couple of comments in the past on different fics that weren’t quite hateful but more like critiquing/nitpicking character or writing choices.

no absolutely not never ugh

I don’t think I’ve ever written one! But I have ideas for TXF/Star Trek and TXF/SVU crossovers that I might write someday if I ever find the time/energy/inspiration😅

I have a Riker/Troi amnesia fic that has been sitting in my notes for three years, every chapter either written, partly written, or outlined, but I just can’t make myself sit down and sort it out😫 also I used to start publishing fics before I was certain where I was going with them, and For War Alone is a relic of that (and it has also been sitting there since 2020 lol)

I have been told I’m really good at dialogue, and I choose to take people at their word😅

I’m addicted to adverbs, also I just love reusing the same words and phrases over and over- one time in a first draft I used the word ‘actually’ four times in a single paragraph!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I love reading that! I feel like it makes the setting and characters and everything seem more realistic, but for writing it I pretty much need to rely on google translate or multilingual moots lol

I wrote a LotR fic a long time ago! But the first fic in my modern day stretch of fic writing was for the Star Trek novel-verse: Psi-Ops

Oh gosh this is so hard but I’m gonna say Where A Million Stars Catch Fire bc I put in a lot of time and effort carefully constructing it as a tribute to Mulder’s birthday this year, and I’m really proud of how it ultimately turned out🥰

aw man ok. so i was a big homestuck fan in my teens and i rly loved broadway karkat, & last week i discovered all my faves are on spotify :’) so i made a playlist of them and spent all weekend revisiting my past

HMM okay here’s some rapid fire facts: i’m the eldest of three, i’m a dog person, i’m an introvert,  i can be very stubborn (taurus 👋🏻), i tend to prefer video games over tv/movies, and overall personality-wise i relate the most to honey out of all the listeners!

You do 7/11 snack runs and compete to see who has the bluest tongue. It’s a great life.

the way I’ve deluded myself into thinking Harry might actually show up to one of Niall’s shows this year is insane because it’s like if the hs4 rumours are true like it’s not completely crazy that he could show up to one of Niall’s shows in the lead up to the album release like he did with Kacey before fine line and like we know they’ve kept in contact over the years whether it be eagles concerts or birthday hikes etc etc

and it’s not a non zero chance they both attend the masters and catch up there and it would make sense if tour came up in conversation whilst they’re there which is what inspires Harry to go to a show and then there’s the whole Co-op of it all

Idk I just feel like we get a crumb every year or two and it’s about time we get something a bit more solid again

Also im so vexed rn hope u don't mind me word vomiting but I've been on genshin for like 1.5 years now and so far the community has been amazing. There's so many shit labels on it which I never got because people are so nice! Most people anyway..

So today I was doing my weekly bosses, I usually co op them because idk I enjoy it more than doing it on my own. So I entered this persons world to fight shogun, they picked scara, I was yelan, someone else was chongyun i fink and there was a hu tao.

I would've changed to a healer (Idm playing healer to fill in the slot and it feels more comfy having a healer or shielder on the team or else everyones spamming sweet madame 😭) but they started the domain before I could change so eh. I literally typed in chat "rip healer" and all 3 of them came at me as if I was crying about it... I made one statement and they were like 🙄🙄🙄🙄 ur yelan tho lol does it really matter (bc she scales on hp so I have like 32k). If there's a hu tao and yelan why tf do u need a healer. No joke, they responded SO AGGRESSIVELY to that one statement.

At that point I was a bit :/ but i stayed quiet bc whatever let's just do the boss and go. Hu tao died within the first 5 seconds lol bc they were on like 100 hp and loaded in before they could even react. So that's one down!! Then we're playing, raiden is doing her thing and our hp is melting. I'm spamming food to keep my yelan alive (lowkey I get mad anxiety when my chars are at low hp I could never play hu tao djdbf) whilst attacking.

Shogun does her one shot move and we couldn't get the shield up in time. Somehow I'm the only one who died?? Anyway I was like "..." in the chat bc idk how I was the only one who died. And then they were onto me like thats on u thats ur fault why would u do that and I was like... am I missing smth here wtf is going on why are they getting rude to me for no reason 😭

And I typed in oh why was I the only one to die and they were like do you not know how to play, have u never done this before, are you blind, the shield didn't activate for any of us

now i’ve finally finished tdim i think i have my preference order 🤓☝️

1. until dawn she is never leaving top spot it’s been like less than a decade and i can’t see that changing. the characters, the atmosphere, the drama of best friends to enemies on a group wide scale… i think me and my best friend played it like 12 times this year and i only dug it back out my wardrobe in august she’s just my fave

2. lh ok when i played this i got it for £4 and i knew nothing except that witches may be there and it ended up being so perfect i will never gaf what people say because the plot twist was perfect because only ud and lh have had twists that shocked me (maybe helped that i played it before mom but even then idc if they reused a plot device bc it was well executed). its also really good with jump scares, first time i played i was resetting my heart every time we went back in time .. as someone who plays these games partly for plot this was just perfect for me and im enjoying the lh brain rot im experiencing on a daily basis

3. hoa which surprised me it was the one i wanted to play the least bc any war setting is just going to make me side eye but it was actually really enjoyable and i was prepared to play it just to complete the set but ended up with salim as one of my top 5 characters of the entire franchise. only wish clarice made it but that is my lesbian bias talking. also the score used was really clever especially when you’re nick in the caves for the first time

4. tdim but possible that by the time i platinum it it may jump to 3rd place. first of all anything with a lesbian couple in it will automatically be a winner in my books, but this game actually is tense like in my first play through towards the end of the 2nd act i was just speeding through bc i was freaking out bc everything was making me jump. i still have sm endings to try out but so far i see why it’s loved

5. the quarry honestly surprised it left my 3rd place but towards the end of me platinuming it i was already losing love for it. i think my fave parts are more of the fanon side rather than what was played, i also think the choices lacked something like once they were infected you didn’t really have to worry.. i think i need to do a replay so i can remember the good parts because there are plenty!!

6. mom but i actually liked it way more than i thought i would so it’s more like a regrettable 6th place. i remember watching playthroughs when it first came out and found it a little boring but definitely once playing for myself this year i can see that it’s actually really good and a fun play. unfortunately on my first try i killed conrad and fliss early on so i missed out on some great scenes which made that playthrough not so good. (minus points that i need to do co-op to platinum this). now i’ve played i don’t get the hate i think it just drew the short straw being the first out after until dawn ❤️‍🩹

two days clean

I have been absolutely exhausted today, physically and mentally drained. From the minute I woke up I just wanted to go back to sleep but I dragged myself out of bed, had a bath and walked up into town to get some timetables of local yoga classes but both were closed unfortunately. I’ll try again tomorrow. Instead I went to the co-op and brought some healthy food, ate a couple of apples and drank a huge pineapple smoothie, spoke to my grandma (still loving and supportive, she is aware of my relapse and is concerned but still has faith in me and my recovery journey, still loves me and wants to see me thrive and support however she is able - beyond grateful to share DNA with such incredible people.) cleaned out my bunny’s hutch, and did a few other house jobs then had to give in and have a nap because I was struggling physically and shaking. Woke up to a call from P and dragged myself out of bed and drove to a meeting - I was an hour early so ordered a KFC rice box with a veggie burger (really hit the spot, demolished it quick time with my hands like a savage😄) then went into the meeting - I was the only girl there but the NA vibe lifted my spirits and gave me extra strength as these meetings usually do, they don’t count clean time if you are still on anti-depressants which I’ve never heard of before but definitely want to explore further. Drove home, had phone sex with P (lol it was so hot tho, can’t wait to see him in person and be physically intimate) followed by a nice catch up chat (he’s been advised by his counsellor to not be my “saviour” so has decided to not give any more words of wisdom and keep our recoveries separate…happy to oblige but didn’t realise/don’t agree that I was putting him on a pedestal and not sure where this idea that he is saving me has come from… I left treatment early to help his bc I felt as though the team believed that I was dragging him down with my struggles. Their lack of faith in me is painful but my faith in myself and my recovery overrides that) and started making a plan for the week so that I can make the most of it and attend any and all things that I want to/will help me stay on this path. I’m starting to feel more like myself again, loving myself for who i am and where I’m at, and building a really fulfilling and beautiful life because that is what I want and deserve. Playing it by ear, but following advice and taking what resonates, staying kind hearted and open minded, one day at a time.

i’ve been trying to get back into rdr2 ever since i dropped it for wdl last summer and it’s just... not hitting at all like i fear it’ll be a cyberpunk situation where it takes nearly 2 years for me to miss it and give it a try again bc i logged 300+ hours in it before i was even halfway through the story

the sad part is that wdl didn’t do it for me even though i actually paid for it, got all the dlcs/expansions and the story is more intriguing than wd2 was. on paper the game should’ve been outstanding: play as any operative with a special set of skills and you can switch between them all throughout london 

maybe it’s bc i’m used to op protagonists like marcus, link, wei shen etc who can do everything on their own, so having to switch btwn an operative who has a weapon i can’t change and can do abc but not xyz was just too weird for me. plus there’s no unique dialogue bc of the number of operatives you can play as, so i never got attached to any of them. it’s a shame bc it’s super detailed and the online co-op is great but it just doesn’t work when you have a bunch of level 1 operatives to choose from and the missions are asking for a jack of all trades. aiden and wrench, for as good as they are in their respective games, just don’t cross over well enough for me in the main game

but i’m gonna give wdl one more earnest chance before hanging up pc gaming indefinitely once i buy the new zelda game

For the character writing meme!! So I don't usually see many fics for Glitch Techs so I was wondering what you keep in mind for writing Miko and Five? Thank you!

Pick a character I’ve written and I will explain the top ~three to five ideas/concepts/etc I keep in mind while writing that character that I believe are essential to accurately depicting them.

Miko's family life is complicated. The Kubotas love all their kids, but they don't really understand most of them, ESPECIALLY Miko. She's clearly kind of the last thought in any situation, and that's led to a lot of self-esteem issues. She throws herself into battles without a care bc, well, why should she? She's got bosses to beat! And if her squishy meat cage gets injured, well, there's always health potions.

Miko is tech-minded! Maybe she can't hack like Zahra, but we've seen her fixing up old video game cabinets. She's talented with consoles and idk, I just like putting that in as many of fics as possible.

Stimming. CONSTANTLY. It's clear she's never had a fidget toy before and grew up just. Using her body. She bounces all over the place even when she's exhausted bc it's the only way she knows how.

Miko doesn't really know how to defend herself. She defends everyone else, but every time she feels uncomfortable or slighted, she usually doesn't say much. She let Five call her Meeks. She barely argued when Mitch called her a glitch. Mike Simms struck a Very Specific Nerve in that episode, and she called it quits when she realized they were a lot alike. She hid her past with animatronics instead of trying to sway Five to her side.

Five's family life is EVEN MORE complicated. He loves and misses his dad, but I get the vibes he's a bit angry with him for getting caught hacking. His Abuela and Abuelo do their best, but they're clearly struggling for money, and Five has been working jobs for years to help keep them afloat.

Great with kids, but doesn't really seem as competent with peeps his own age? He talks through his Special Interests, but when he can't, he usually resorts to the type of stuff you use on kids- silly voices, slang he clearly knows is cringe, etc.

Five is petty. He's held on to a failed birthday party for years. He takes comments to heart and actively tries to prove them wrong. He used his gauntlet on Gerdi instead of talking to her. He still hasn't told Miko she's been lowkey destroying him in co-op games for years. This isn't me dissing him, this is just Five being a human being.

Hella smart, but emotionally not intuitive.

It really gave me hope for things tbh, bc I have very little knowledge on how studios and hollywood work so not understanding this stuff has been kind of stressful and leaving a lot of unknowns and uncertainties for me. So again THANK YOU!!! A few more questions tho for you 😅. If Lindsey did sign a 6 year contract, if she decided she didn’t want to return for some reason, is she in violation of her contract and if so what are the penatlies of that?? Like would the network just let her out of her contract w/ out consequence if that were the case or no?? I guess what I’m asking is like if Lindsey HAS to come back to Walker at some point whether she wants to or not?? That person on twitter made it seem like she HAD to in some capacity regardless if she decided she wanted to or not. Of course I don’t think things would play out like that or that it’s necessarily the dynamic of things for her, but I’m just trying to understand how these tv contracts work. Like I’ve heard of some cases where people did want out of their contracts but couldn’t get out of them and I’m just trying to undersatnd if anything w/ that could ever be at play here for her. What can be the consequences for that?

It depends on the agreement between her and the producers when they let Lindsey out of her contract.  Producers usually require actors to return at least once as a guest star to wrap up their arc as part of the agreement for breaking the contract.  If the producers and the wayward actor did not get along, then yes the producers can hit them with penalties for contract violations, but that rarely happens.  They don't even punish actors for violating their contracts during the second or third season when they demand contract re-negotiation, other than occasionally publicly calling their bluffs.  Producers would rather forget the legalities and go straight to blacklisting the actor behind the scene.

Jared was one of those people who wanted out of his contract after S3 in SPN, but of course he couldn't leave because he's the lead playing the protagonist.  While Lindsey is the co-lead (like Jensen was in SPN), Micki is not the protagonist so it's easier to let Lindsey out of her contract, especially this early before the general audience become totally invested in her.

I'm in the camp that the acting bug never leaves you so I have a hard time believing Lindsey would never want to return to Walker to at least wrap up her character's arc and prove that she is a reliable actor who is not a risk to future producers for disrupting production.  We saw how people like Richard Speight fought hard to have their character return to $upernatural despite having a steady income in the convention circuit and the director's chair.  Rumor has it that Wil Wheaton wanted a guest role on SPN because the set environment was a good place to work because Jared (X) (X), along with Jensen, set the tone.  By all accounts, Jared carried the positive work environment to Walker.

Yeah it's a little disconcerting to see Cordell and Trey without Micki.  She was firm but very supportive of her men.  Having Stella and August no longer act out their rebellious angst helped soften Micki's absence.  During Cordell's struggle as a newly single father in S1, Micki was there to guide or support him whenever Stella disappeared on him or August appeared at his undercover ops.   I think Cordell's kids nearly got him killed twice in S1.  I don't know why I find that funny.

if you dont mind me asking, how did you get into dumpster diving/how do you make sure its safe? (both from a cleanliness and hypodermic needles standpoint and from a legality standpoint)

oh yeah sure! full disclosure though i haven’t actually been doing it for long at all so i’m no like, authority or anything. i got almost all my like Safety Measures TM from this person on tiktok who’s been doing it for a year or so, but she’s based in the US so some practical differences exist. i hate food waste and love free/cheap food and i was living in a student co-op over the summer and one of my flatmates there was going to that store specifically for it and i saw the stuff he was coming back with so i was like Yo wtf

anyway in terms of food safety, i only take stuff that’s either 1. cold (as in fridge cold) or 2. semi shelf stable, and never stuff like dairy or seafood (or meat). also important to make sure the packaging is intact and clean. with my bakery bread haul all of the bakery bread was inside of a separate clean clear bag and then individually wrapped inside again, but if they’d just been loose in there only wrapped in the bakery paper wrap i wouldn’t have taken them. on top of that personally i’ve been cooking all the produce i got (cherry tomatoes, blueberries) that has like breathing holes before eating just to be sure, even though i only take them if they’re on top of the pile (so not from the depths of the bin lol) and clean. if there’s several whole boxes of something with seemingly nothing wrong with it it’s also always worth it to check food recalls in your area.

i HAVE taken expired food that was expired by a few days but i can’t like, recommend that bc it is an additional risk. however i am weak against entire sealed boxes full of food that turned out to be fine in the end so that’s my hubris etc. if you do do that just make sure to use your nose and eyes and preferably ONLY take stuff where you CAN use your eyes and nose to at least pretty well determine if something is safe. for example i took a box of itsu noodle soup, which is an instant meal kit that comes with precooked rice noodles, soup base, veggies, and dumplings. i tossed the dumplings but the veggies and the noodles were fine so i just used those to make a stir fry SPECIFICALLY to get it really hot for a prolonged period of time in case the dumplings had gone off really badly and spread bacteria to the noodles.

it’s legal in the US and afaik in scotland as well, as long as you’re not entering a no trespassing area. the places i go don’t have any gates etc and you can get onto the loading dock/trash area without jumping through any hoops or entering any no customers allowed areas bc it’s just right there.

i’ve never seen hypodermic needles or anything like that, in scotland grocery stores etc have a food waste bin (or usually several, lol waitrose has six) and a general compactable (landfill) waste bin and i only look at the food waste ones. since they’re off of the street people who might be disposing of needles or whatever are unlikely to choose to walk off the road with residential dumpsters along it and into the store parking lot, but i also don’t really dig around and use a flashlight so i can see what i’m about to touch. the person whose videos i’ve watched has like a grabbing stick and that seems like a good investment bc i am deathly afraid of touching the sides of the bin lol. wearing gloves can also be a good idea

bro literally why is every genshin player that i’ve co-opped with so nice ; w ; i had someone rq to come into my world (usually i would just let it run out bc i would get too anxious) but they were so sweet asking me if they could journey with me. after we went exploring, they left & i got bored again so i rq to go to another persons world (even tho i was still hella nervous, i’ve only recently gotten comfortable with random co op bc of windtrace) & LORD they were SO WELCOMING :,) that person was also playing childe so i pulled out zhongli & helped them explore their world for a bit before they had to go. i hope i wasn’t too boring for them lol i was kind of nervous still :,)

I’ve always met nice, kind, and fun people - i’ve had people ask if I’d help them with some world challenges or share resources, and like -- it’s so cool to help out someone in another place. We may never talk again, but this moment we had together was magical and lovely 

(I’ll say that I usually don’t do random rq to join my world anymore because i’m only on for a short amount of time, so I don’t want to limit their fun!)

To slightly still talk about the mingyu situation (which I hope its alright!) I found something annoying during all of this that you echoed and some anon's said and it was how QUICK some fans were dismiss OP1 with her experience and feelings, making it seem like mingyu is the one that had it worst. Now by all means, it is upsetting to know that yes this will follow mingyu and the rest of the boys till the end of time. Sadly we cannot change that, all we can do is correct people on the situation so I do kinda feel bad BUT to say mingyu is "completely innocent and not at fault" makes me confused because ??? He isn't, not fully. Do people forget that he ADMITS to saying jokes. Yes not towards OP but he still said such jokes and to me, that doesn't mean he is innocent. He admits his faults and takes accountability to that, I give kudos for ya know? Like yes he is my bias but my gosh I am not going to claim he didn't do wrong when well...he did. It frustrates me that fans suddenly forget that the main cause of chaos (at least internationally for fans) was of that horrible mistranslations. I'm sure kfans were also upset but seeing icarats demand pledis to S word OP1 when that isn't the right mindset. I had some hope fans would be smart, especially after the news we found out about mistranslations and all but looks like this fandom isn't safe from bad apples =/ this makes me confused like how do people just idk, not have their morals i guess, when it comes to their faves?

For me, where i stand with mingyu is im disappointed that mingyu said jokes but I'm willing to give him a chance so to speak, like I'm a bit more ok with say reblogging content a out him. For anons that I saw who said they need time, that is valid! It is ok to take a step back from the member, group or fandom! This fandom space should make you happy and comfy and with what has happened, things are rocky and your feelings are valid! Never doubt yourself for overthinking or saying you're a bad fan bc you are not. If you do decide to leave the fandom, I hope despite the dark cloud with what happened, you can remember the warm sunshine (aka happy moments) from the fandom and boys. and yeah i agree, it's frustrating that it seems like a lot of people can't see or understand the nuance of the situation. i think maybe some people are trying to overcompensate for the mistranslations which had such serious accusations, and i think others are just uncomfortable with the idea that celebrities can make mistakes and be forgiven (as in, they think the only way celebs can be "forgiven" is if they were completely innocent in the first place. otherwise they must be cancelled and since they don't want to cancel mg he must be 100% innocent!). but i don't think either of those, or any reason really, justifies the lack of compassion for any of the OPs. it's possible to have conflicts where no party is a villain, actually

i do think the correct response for carats as a whole is to start moving on. the conflict between OP1 and mingyu has been resolved between the two of them, and the other claims were proven false. if OP1 is satisfied, there's no need for carats or non carats to call for mg to be punished further. but on the other side of that, which as you mentioned is more of a problem currently, there's no reason to punish (ie sue) any of the OPs. as i said in my other post, the OPs are still victims even if mg wasn't the perpetrator of the other claims. if even an institution whose primary purpose is to make money (ie pledis) can look at the situation and be like 'hey, it wouldn't be right to try to prosecute these people so we're not going to' then i think that's a sign that to sue these people would be unjust

but also to clarify when I say carats as a whole should move on i mean there's no collective action we can or should take that would be helpful. i don't mean that every individual should force themselves to move on before they're ready. as I've said before and as you've said, i think any carat that needs more time to process and isn't ready to go back to doing normal fan stuff, or those who won't ever be and decide to leave the fandom are totally valid! i second everything you said in that regard, everyone should do what makes them most comfortable ^^

yeah people have been talking for ages about how all the artists are gonna be in the new building and i was always kind of skeptical. i thought it was more likely that pledis would just have a few offices in the bh building rather than relocating their Entire Company lmao but it looks like that's what's happening. it is a nice facility, but yeah it's a bit bittersweet to say goodbye to both of the pledis buildings since so many things happened there 😭
