“if she doesn't want to be called dude i won't call her that” - you are assuming you and your friends read as people trans women feel safe enough to speak up to, while already demonstrating you don't take other people seriously enough.
Your habit and lack of self restraint/awareness matter more than common sense i guess. Like i would never call a transmasc “girl” because that would seem like obvious misgendering, but it's different for trans women apparently.

this whole thing being abt rage is also really interesting. I feel like it comes up so much in fiction as a motive because it's the one emotion that's unifyingly restless while everything else can be petrifying, and just personally nothing hits like impotent rage for me, esp. with teen characters, esp. with characters whose rage is stoked by Someone Else to further that Someone Else's cause. like you'll have done all that in a bout of passion and when you're done you look around you and nothing has changed. those sentiments don't get quelled by being satisfied. righteousness withdrawal is a horrible thing to intentionally drag someone into, least of all just some kids.

into the deep end - 29k T orufrey fic.
the sweet oblivion of the victim, the poisoned freedom of the other.
for one moment - it had felt like two parts returned - the needed reunion of two disparate halves. no more secrets, no more pain.
the moment you get to give back what you never wanted to take. that moment, under the night-blooming flowers, when they had both let out the same single broken sigh of relief.
but they were never whole to begin with, were they?
qifrey swore he wouldn't say 'sorry' to this man any more if he could help it - sorry is cheap now. he didn't want to be in a position ever again where you only have 'sorry' left. so he just looks down into the threads of his blanket, strains his eye until it hurts, feeling his insides - his throat, heart and head - burn with pain. he expects more, but olly says nothing.
olly says nothing.

[chiluc angel au]
lore drop! diluc always wears a translucent veil to cover their face, and bc of magic, it can't be blown upwards by the wind to reveal how they look. it can, however, be blown against them so ajax can see the contours of their features. all this does is make him more curious though.

[Image description: A three page traditional comic of a scene from my Chiluc Angel AU.
On the first page, Ajax washes dishes at the kitchen sink while Diluc sits on the couch behind him, reading a book. "You're always wearing your veil, even at home," says Ajax. "Why won't you show me your face, Master Angel?"
"Mortals cannot comprehend my appearance," replies Diluc.
A tiny Ajax face at the bottom of the page laughs a "haha" with furrowed brows.
On the second page, Ajax says, "Okay, so you're self-confident. But still, not even a little peek?"
"No, what I meant was-" Diluc starts.
On the third page, Diluc finishes his sentence with, "you would literally be blinded."
A serious air and gloom hang over the scene.
Ajax is silent for a moment, and then responds, "You know what? Nevermind then."
"A wise choice," says Diluc.]

🚨 angst alert 🚨 i have a question for you. yes, you. put your au thinking cap on. got it? okay.
how do you think mike would've coped if they'd been in lucas and max's season four positions? as in, will dies a grotesque death in mike's arms after they agreed to go on a movie date this friday and mike admitted to feeling like he'd lost will not that long ago, mike almost gets shot and has to fight for both their lives to no avail and then pull them away from the rifts afterward to wait for help, and eleven manages to save will but he's in the hospital totally unresponsive and also whoops she can't actually find him in his mind btw. ...oof. thoughts? 🤨📝🎤
