Here are my main ships in the order of how much I like them. All of my ships are rare ships, so...

OTP: Mevpine (Mevolent x Nefarian Serpine) I love master-servant dynamics <3 And Nef has a bad enough judgement(/masochistic tendencies) to decide that dating his very tall, handsome boss is a good idea. They also read very similarly. Both are charismatic and have an easy time making people like them, highly intelligent, cunning, and sadistic and both have the same twisted sense of humour. Mev jokes about eating babies, Nef jokes about eating puppies (tho the puppy joke was previously used by Landy for Mev too). Those two certainly are birds of a feather and have massive spend-too-much-time-with-each-other-and-became-too-similar vibes. Plus Nef is like the only one that gets Mev's humour while everybody else is never quite sure if he's joking or not. Plus, I mean, it's pretty much canon that Nef is the one person that knows Mev the best. What a perceptive lil snek <3

The warlord and his closest confidant, I really don't get how this ship isn't more popular.

Baronpine (Baron Vengeous x Nefarian Serpine) They are perfect opposites in a way where they complete each other, both in fighting styles and personalities. They mellow out each other's worst trades. Baron is less of a stick in the mud with Nef around and he's able to make Nef a little less chaotic and needlessly cruel. There really aren't many people that can make Nef behave lol. They affectionately call each other their insufferable counterpart <3 They also have a delicious relationship evolution from rivalry to I-hate-that-I'm-into-you hate fucking to starting to appreciate the other's strengths and devotion to the cause to legitimately caring for each other in their own a little bit messed up kinda way. They totally bicker and roast each other all the time but not even the Gods can help you if you insult one of them in the earshot of the other.

This is like my most wholesome ship <3

Mevolent x Serafina Dey This one is really obvious. The big bad that is soft for exactly one person and it's his waifu. I also have the headcanon that since Mev grew up an orphan, raised by a cruel master, he never experienced family. But when he married Sera he was welcomed with open arms into her family by all apart from Creed.

Canon, yet still underappreciated </3

SorrowScorn (China Sorrows x Eliza Scorn) When asked if she wants to date China or be like her, Eliza answered "yes". They have such an interesting dynamic with Eliza trying to beat China at her own game but being damned to always be the second best. Lovers and rivals at the same time, Eliza is jealous of China but adores her equally as much.

This one used to be popular in the fandom but it isn't anymore. Landy did Eliza dirty by excluding her from phase 2 (apart from a brief mention).

BONUS: OT3: Nef x Mev x Sera OT3's are what happens when you like two conflicting ships lol. Mev got to keep his boytoy AND marry the woman of his dreams. He's really smug about it until he realizes that his two lovers are getting along too well and started teaming up on him. I'm living for the second where the self-satisfaction turned into the realization that he made a huge mistake :)

oh. so many thoughts. to the point my best friend and i have an entire multi-chapter fanfiction in the works about them. to boil it down, some smaller thoughts / ideas / headcanons are:

met after shiyi and ada (and luchino, albeit unwillingly) snuck frederick out of the bunker his father had been keeping him in, then brought him on.. basically a rescue mission to save emil who was Going Through It with hastur.

because of emil's infection, they can't really touch skin-to-skin and require protective gear / a layer or two between them if they want to be affectionate. it sucks only being able to touch your partner if you're wearing gloves n shit but it's for the best. they touch their gas masks together to kiss.

frederick willingly gets infected by emil through their first kiss (really just kinda came from this art by my bestie lmao)

i include fredluchi in some of my coa7 shitposts just bc i ship them too, it's not in the fic we're working on (luchino's a bit too hostile towards frederick for that) but some of the shitposting opportunities were too funny to pass up

i have many thoughts about emil wearing frederick's coat but that's not a super coherent one just a mental image i have so we'll move on from that

in general the coa7 cast is one of my favourites so far and i'm really happy with not only what we've been given, but what we've also managed to create from that. we absolutely won with this coa and it's so much fun to talk and write about, genuinely such an incredible theme and story

if you want some of my coa7 writing, i've got this, though it's not emilerick-related and emil is only mentioned in passing. it's an excerpt that takes place early enough in the fic to not be too spoiler-y and it was a lot of fun to write, it's some of my favourite writing i've done in the past couple months

this took so long to answer I'm sorryyyy :( I kinda forgot about it because of object impermanence and all that- but it's fine, I'm answering it now

so! your idea of Houston / Miami / New Orleans made me go a little insane, so that's who I'll talk about. (also, just to avoid confusion, when I say "Nora" I'm talking about New Orleans- that's the nickname I've been using, unless anyone else has any better ideas /gen)

first, gender / sexuality headcanons. ofc female Houston, lesbian imo; bi female Nora; and she/they pan Miami owns my entire heart

love languages! Houston's love language is probably quality time, she just loves when her gfs pay attention to her. Nora's is words- she showers the other two with compliments, day and night, and when one of them compliments her, she lights up like the sun istg. and Miami's is touch. they're very touchy (*cough cough*)

and here are my general ship headcanons, in list form for your convenience:

Miami and Nora got together first, in a sort of friends-to-best-friends-to-spending-their-lives-together way

they each flirted with Houston, first just for fun, but then both developed feelings and talked to each other like "haha but wait hang on hilarious idea what if it wasn't really a joke"

when they talked to Houston about it, she needed a day or two to get used to the idea (she was raised by TEXAS after all), but then she was like "wait I'm being asked out by two gorgeous people why would I pass up this opportunity"

Nora is very little spoon energy, I dunno why

Miami and Nora LOVE when Houston's Southern accent slips out

y'know Miami's iconic sunglasses? they were a gift from Nora to help with Miami's light sensitivity

Nora is the best cuddler (Miami LIVES for her cuddles)

Houston proposes~ (it's very fluffy and soft and Nora can't even contain her excitement and Miami is way too eager to leap into Houston's arms- or Nora's, depending on who's available)

Do you think Yang and Blake made for poorer partners than what configuration your vitalis AU has? Do you like Blake as a character generally? I know you talk a lot about Yang but B/Y isn’t your cup of tea for ships (which I respect and am not trying to convince you otherwise lolol I’m just kinda curious) so what would you prefer for the characters instead moving forward in the narrative?

i wouldn't say "poorer" bc when writing—especially writing an au—you can do whatever you want and come up with new things, canon be damned lol buuuut for a long time, the concept of partners in general in canon has been a "problem" point for me, bc not much is done with it to... "justify" it, if you will?

like, it very much feels like that they had an idea for ruby and weiss for the emerald forest (which didn't last a day) and bc they need to have team rwby, well. blake and yang it is, i guess? in that sense they very much feel like an afterthought bc for the most part in the first two volumes they're just there; when blake finally gets her time to shine at the end of V1, weiss is central to it, ruby is shown to be the most concerned for blake, and yang is. kind of just there. which is fine, but if the point is to sell the importance of partners, why couldn't yang have ruby's role, or do something else that makes her be central to blake's storyline from the get-go?

and this set-up as a whole leads to, admittedly hilarious, scenarios in V2 where after a whole semester blake needs to be explained how yang's semblance works and then two episodes later yang is telling blake her tragic backstory of people leaving her behind with no apparent change in their relationship on screen, as much as time has passed.

and when the ball eventually does get rolling with the two of them, there's this... i had expectations (based on what the writers had done previously / with other characters) that reality did not meet. and that's fine!! you can't possibly cater to anyone lol but for me, it just means my interest is pretty darn low; it's like they had a whole pool they could have dove into head first and it would have been great, but instead they just barely dipped their toes in and called it a day.

so, as far as my au goes, it was a choice between throwing the whole concept out, or do some changes—and while keeping the same partners and coming up with new stuff for them would have been an option, when canon presents me with an opportunity with something that's already there and i find interesting, i'd rather go with that.

and i like blake. again, i don't really have characters i hate or even dislike, it's more of an interest thing; what's their storyline like? is it in the spotlight right now or not? what is the character doing in the meanwhile? etc. so if there's nothing that currently interests me about a character i don't talk about them much.

i'm also way too deep into strq fam + cinder + salem & ozma stuff so everyone else gets left in the sidelines until they do something that piques my interest lol but it doesn't mean i don't like them.

as for preferences, i don't really have any beyond what makes obvious sense? like, yang obviously has to be involved in the whole summer mission thing, it makes absolutely zero sense for her not to, so there's that. as for blake, bringing back the white fang storyline and at least attempting to fix it would be nice, bc leaving it as a dumpster fire that they continuously poured gasoline on and then stopped doesn't stop it being a dumpster fire, it's just a dumpster fire that no one is pouring any gasoline on. and that's a shadow that hovers over blake constantly whether they like it or not; for example, sure, blake can make all the comments about how awful mantle looks, but then you look a little bit to the left where the crater is with faunus living in shacks with no heating and from what i can tell, the only wall they have is the one between the crater and mantle and it's like.

but also idk what they can really do in vacuo that could salvage even the tiniest part of this storyline since everything to do with the white fang storyline since day 1 was pointed towards atlas, so. . . kind of don't know what i'd like blake to do, tbh. anything really that gives me something to chew one lol

very much so! i think that after the resolution route date cuts down on his cabaret club outings bc he feels So Old. and after they start dating they go out sometimes but also like to chill inside, clean/cook together, drink some wine, and watch a movie or smth :3

actually i think they're more similar than ppl think! both are very determined and family-oriented, have a tendency for self-sacrifice, and like to joke around (hitomi's jokes are more subtle though lmao).i think they mostly differ when it comes to impulsivity - date's that kind of person to act first and think second lol

27. How do they say “I love you” non-verbally?

mm i think it's mostly through doing little things for each other, like hitomi making a cute bento box for date, and him making her tea just the way she likes it (piping hot)

gestures above. acts of service i think. a bit of quality time and physical touch as well (date never passes an opportunity to Grab A Boob), but mostly just ensuring the other's life goes as smooth as possible bc boy howdy they've been through some shit

it probably took a veeery long time for them to feel comfortable with saying it out loud (but they knew. they knew), so maybe 2 yrs after getting into a relationship? and tbh i think hitomi said it first & date bluescreened at this. she loves him. she really loves him, despite everything. he's crying.

haha yeah about that. (boss & hitomi text often though. mostly worrying about date. disaster man.)

oh i think they support each other by just. being there for one another. doing little things to cheer up the other one, asking how to help, bouncing ideas off of each other. but when it gets Harder i think both of them (mostly date) bottle things up a lot until the other one (mostly hitomi) gets too worried to let that slide.

48. Do they talk about their future together? Why or why not?

not trying to be rude, this is genuine curiosity: what are the rules for irl stories you will/won't post? years ago, i sent the story of my/my bro's 1st kiss and how it evolved into a secret relationship during our teens. it wasn't longer than some personal stories posted lately, but you wouldn't post it and it seemed like it was bc it felt too long/fake (even if it was real). but you've posted things that felt more like a reddit fantasy than what i sent in, so i'm curious about the guidelines

Not rude at all, a very good question, and I'm glad you presented me with the opportunity to say something on this topic.

I really hate not posting something, because I don't want the person who sent it in to feel like I don't appreciate their participation, or to feel like I've questioned the legitimacy of what they sent in (assuming it was real/true), or especially for them to feel like I've passed some kind of judgment on them. And especially if it was a long message I feel bad. They took the time to type all of that out and to share something personal, and I fully appreciate that. So in general I like to post things if I can, even if I'm a little skeptical that it's true. But there are a few reasons why I might not post something.

When I post something to my blog, I'm essentially endorsing it, or saying "this is OK". Unless I use the text box to explicitly disagree or say something in protest. So sometimes I'm put into a position where I have to choose - do I say to this person, "I don't approve"? Or do I just not post. It seems nicer/easier not to post. So that's a factor sometimes.

In terms of personal stories that get sent in, some reasons why I don't post them are:

They seem fake

They're too explicit

They treat cheating or something else questionable like it's OK

I don't fully understand what's being said

Something to do with age stuff (more details below)

It just makes me uncomfortable/it seems like it's maybe not as healthy as the person who sent it in thinks it is

Relating to the age thing, if there's an age gap of more than a couple of years and the relationship or whatever act being talked about started or took place while one or both people were underage then I probably won't post it. (This applies to someone sharing about their own personal experience, not relating facts as a thirty party.) It's a gray area, I'm not saying I'm judging, and not every case is the same, but that's just not something I'm comfortable posting. Same goes if the two people being talked about are close in age but it goes into stuff that happened while they were kids/pre-pubescent. Again, I'm not saying it's wrong, every case is different, and a lot of people might find it cute, depending upon what it was, but that can make people uncomfortable and I don't want to court any controversy. I understand that it might be important background info or an important part of the story. But I don't want to be dealing with reaction messages or debates or anything like that. Anything that might have fallout will probably not be posted. I apologize.

It would be different if this were a confession blog and I just posted everything no matter what without comment. But my focus is on shipping/fiction and people who send messages in often ask questions and expect responses most of the time.

Also, I get a lot of asks and don't have a lot of time and sometimes I just have to make a quick judgment and can't spend a long time debating it with myself or consulting others. I have to make things easy on myself or else I would have to give up the blog. I fully acknowledge that others might have a different opinion.

Also, sometimes Tumblr just eats messages. I don't even know how often it happens because I have no way of knowing unless the sender follows up or it was one in a numbered series. But it definitely does happen.

I'm honored that people interact with my blogs and I apologize if I didn't post something that you sent in and you were hurt or offended. I would be hurt too and I totally understand that and I really am sorry.

Also, if you want to share your story, anon, or anyone else, and I did not post it here, or even if I did post it here, there are several subreddits on Reddit that exist for that.

Oh I will never pass up the opportunity to talk about my shitty little bastard godwoken!

I decided to make her in bg3 bc sadly dos2's character creator just really can't compare but Yeah this is Vakora

Vakora is a half demon necro/pyromancer lich born into and raised by the Black Ring who frankly thinks that losing your meat when you become undead is a skill issue. Naturally, she's got the scholar, mystic, undead, and villain tags lol, with civil skill in lore master, and her talents are demon (unsurprisingly lol) torturer, savage sortilege, and glass cannon.

Because she's a lich, she's very delicate and fragile physically, and she absolutely has to be careful because uhhh AS AN UNDEAD LICH only source fueled healing magic will work on her, but considering she's got like 20 points in pyromancy, its not like she usually has a problem with enemies being able to get close enough to land a hit on her.

Also she's a lich on purpose, she learned how to turn people into liches from Tarquin specifically, and removed her soul herself and hid the soul jar in a safe location prior to the Black Ring getting death fogged, so even though she was right in the middle of the blast zone, she was able to walk out of it no big deal thanks to already being undead.

Of course, now most of the Black Ring were dead, and she really didn't have much interest in this supposed new God that most of the survivors were now pledging their allegiance to instead of Chaos. It wasn't necessarily that she was loyal to Chaos specifically, as it wasn't like she CHOSE to join the Black Ring, but she did think it was pretty pitiful for everyone to just up and switch allegiances at the drop of a hat, so she was basically like hm ok yeah, call me when you manage to find your pride and spine again. Before running off on her own to cause problems for the Divine Order by herself. She actually ended up on the ship to Fort Joy specifically because she wanted to go wreak havoc there on the magisters because so many of them all in one place? She's sighing dreamily imagining how much destruction a meteor shower spell would do.

But also because she's very interested in Braccus' research and absolutely wants to go poke her nose into all his old little hideaways. And no she doesn't help ANY of his victims bc she's an evil little asshole and thinks that most of his punishments were hilarious. She may or may not try to roast marshmallows over one of the burning pigs.

Understandably, Vakora isn't exactly popular with most of the other godwoken lmao, although they don't actually know any of the juicy details about her past in the black ring until they get to the nameless isle and the party is like uhhhhh why do all these black ring people know you by name??? For the majority of the game, all the party really knows about her is that she's an equally dangerous and deranged wizard, she's a lich, she has a really fucked up sense of humor, and she's not going to bother helping people if there's not IMMEDIATELY something in it for her. She doesn't actively go out of her way to hurt anyone (outside of the divine order) but she's not the first to suggest helping someone in need and the others will usually have to coerce her into it.

That said, she does get along with Sebille and Lohse very well from the start. Sebille because she can absolutely appreciate a woman who doesn't hesitate to try and kill her ass on the spot, and Lohse because she can absolutely relate to the whole everything and its grandmother constantly trying to possess you thing. Also, as a half demon herself, she has a lot of knowledge and insight on what Lohse is dealing with SPECIFICALLY, and basically the moment she meets her she's like "uh yeah that's a demon you're dealing with. Seems pretty powerful too. Honestly, i don't know how you're even still remotely in control of yourself right now." But although she does actually KNOW Adrahmalik from when they were both with the Ring, (although certainly not by NAME) she doesn't actually realize its him specifically that's possessing Lohse until they get to Blood Moon Isle. She also got along pretty well with Ifan at first, up until the point that he learned she was black ring, and then things uhhh went pretty sour between them. Sadly, in her main verse, things uhhh just really did not end up well between Vakora and those three at all.

Sebille didn't end up trusting her enough to share her slave song with her, so when they confronted the Shadow Prince, Sebille permanently became his thrall again, and so Vakora killed her bc she considered that the only mercy she could give her.

Lohse insisted on trying to ascend to divinity at the academy, and Vakora, having absolutely NO skill in persuasion, wasn't able to talk her down from it and it lead to Vakora killing her, because she agreed with Jahan about not allowing Lohse to ascend.

and Ifan wasn't willing to risk another divine rising who might be anything like Lucian, and he sure as hell wouldn't let a BLACK RING LICH ascend to Divinity, so yeah, that ended in a fight too.

As for other people, despite her tendency to be rather bitchy and belligerent, she actually was mostly cordial with people as long as they weren't associated with the Divine Order?

She got along well with Malady, though they hadn't known each other before the Seekers captured the Lady Vengeance, they knew OF each other. Demons like to talk and brag about their half demon spawn to each other apparently. They're both extraordinarily bitchy and snarky towards each other but its all in good fun, though most people around them usually can't tell they're NOT actually about to kill each other.

Garreth she couldn't fucking STAND and frankly the only reason she didn't just incinerate him the moment he started preaching about Lucian's platitudes is because she already knew that the seekers were now enemies of the magisters, and she wanted to see what was going on there before making any rash decisions. Surprisingly, she actualy doesn't kill him until the very end of the game where hes been turned into Lucian's silent monk

Now TARQUIN on the other hand, she gets along with GREAT considering he was one of her teachers in the Black Ring, and it was him leaving the Ring first that made her realize "oh wait i can just do that??" And then when they reunite on the lady vengeance its definitely a sweating nervously/spiderman pointing at each other meme moment where they both immediately recognize each other and pretend that they dont lmao. Of course, knowing EXACTLY what his specialty is, Vakora immediately realizes that Dallis almost definitely captured him to resurrect someone, but she just doesn't know WHO. and of course, no amount of her trying to pester him for the answer (in private of course, seh's not gonna air their dirty laundry in front of the party) will convince him to actually tell her who the fuck he rezzed for the magisters. She does still help him with Anathema though, and considering she ALSO already knows what anathema is, he's much more forthcoming about what she's even LOOKING for in the first place. Honestly, 10/10 student teacher relationship

and then there's JAHAN. LOL. Vakora certainly isn't scared of Jahan, but she is definitely wary of him. Though she is perfectly polite and cordial towards him when the party goes to find him to help with Lohse's little problem. The fact that he's immortal and she can't kill him if necessary annoys her, but at the same time, as a master of necromancy, Jahan immediately realizes that she's ALSO immortal as a lich and thus he can't kill her either, and so they kinda just both silently decide to try talking things out first since actually FIGHTING is pretty much pointless. After the inital uncertainty, they do end up getting along pretty well though! Jahan realizes that some of the rumors of her violence and malice are a bit exaggerated as its mostly just the divine order she's fucking up, and for the most part, she's just kinda bitchy and grumpy towards everyone else. Although he is genuinely surprised that she does earnestly want to help Lohse with her possession problem.

and speaking of Lohse's possession problem, that brings us to Adrahmalik lol. Adrahmalik was more than happy to pretty much overlook Vakora's existence, mostly because uhhhh he had a very strong vested interest in not pissing off her father who is ALSO fucking archdemon who was quite infamous for utterly DESTROYING other demons who tried to possess her (which frankly happened a lot during her childhood until word spread around that it was a very bad idea to even try) otherwise, Vakora would've been his first choice for a new godwoken host in an attempt to ascend to divinity, but he ended up settling for Lohse instead. anddddd then Vakora killed Lohse. and he was very unhappy about that. So when Vakora did end up making it to Arx in the final act, he absolutely did try to possess her bc he was pissed she deprived him of Lohse. Unfortunately for him, she did anticipate him trying to pull that so she did come prepared and she just killed him instead. Up until the point that she killed lohse though, all of his servants like the Advocate and all the other's and Blood Moon were perfectly polite and pleasant to her, showing her about the same kind of respect as they did Lohse.

Funnily enough, she actually DOESN'T reallyyyy have any strong feelings towards Dallis? But by that i mean that Dallis just isn't really unique to her. She doesn't really stand out much from the rest of Lucian's stupid little lapdogs even if she is a higher rank than most of them. As far as Vakora is concerned, she's Divine Order and so she's gonna kill her. It's really as simple as that. She does find it particularly annoying how much difficulty she seems to be having in killing this one particular member of the Divine Order but frankly as long as it ends in death, she doesn't care. After all, time is no matter when one cannot die. She has all eternity to kill her. And honestly, she really didn't care much about Dallis' dramatic reveal right before the final boss fight either. It really didn't change anything to her. As far as she was concerned, she was still a divine order lackey who needed to die.

Now as for Lucian? There is only one thing that goes through her mind when she hears his name. KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL. Considering she's been indoctrinated to despise him from the moment she was born, not too surprising there. Frankly, she was actually absolutely DELIGHTED to learn he wasn't actually dead at the final boss fight because it meant she had the opportunity to kill him herself. Like tbh she straight up did not really talk to him at all? Like, Lucian really only got as far as telling dallis to take the mask off before Vakora was like YAWN BORING NOT INTERESTED IN WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY and decided to chat with Braccus instead lmao. so really, she didn't actually hear anything about the tear in the source veil or all that because Lucian didn't get that far lol

Now Braccus on the other hand??? For the vast majority of the game of course, she has no idea that he's Vredeman, but she's spent her entire life studying him. Learning his techniques. Hunting down his research. What little of it was actually recorded and survived to these times. She thinks he was absolutely fascinating and utterly brilliant. And also funny as fuck. An absolute fucking ASSHOLE but still funny! Like, flaming pigs? Seriously? Hilarious. So she actually had a grand time sticking her nose into every little nook and cranny at fort joy and learning everything that she could about him. But funnily enough, she didn't actually think twice about "Vredeman" the few times she encountered him, mainly because her attention was immediately on trying to kill Dallis during those encounters. At least until she found Dallis' journal in arx talking about how she was keeping Braccus as a glorified pet. And then she actually had the opportunity to TALK to him before the final fight, and at first she was both disappointed and confused by the notion that THE Braccus Rex could possibly be enslaved by someone like Dallis, at least until Dallis brings out the leashing wand and Vakora realizes that he's actually not under her control AT ALL and is only pretending to be affected by it. So Vakora and Braccus end up chatting for a few minutes about divinity and she's basically like "well to be perfectly honest, i don't actually have any interest in becoming a god. I'm really just here to kill Dallis, truth be told. And Lucian, now that i Know that he's alive and well too." And Braccus just slowly raises an eyebrow like "Oh really? Interesting." and they kinda just look at each other before simultaneously turning to look at Lucian and Dallis who only have about three seconds to process what the FUCK is going on before the final boss fight starts lmao. With Vakora and Braccus against them and their minions.

So yeah, while the worst possible ending is the godking and eternals coming back from the void and enslaving everyone, another "bad for pretty much everyone" ending is "the godking and the eternals do not in fact make it back from the void but that's because BRACCUS is the new Divine and nothing is worth dealing with that." After the final boss fight, Vakora fucks off on her own for a while before eventually coming back to Fort Joy (which Braccus is unsurprisingly having rebuilt) to hang around and be the classic "my liege you should incinerate that guy for fun" person that every batshit insane god/king/emperor needs

My prediction for why there was huntlow and dalador parallels in Dana's gallery nucleus art is that Darius is going to play a part in nudging hunter and willow closer to each other (though probably not actually together, bc I doubt if that'll ever be explicit in the show), specifically after seeing himself and Alador in them.

Aka He's gonna grab willow by the shoulders and be like "see that weird, shy little goblin man who smells kind of bad but makes you happy??? Do you like him???" And Willows. My feelings about Dalador is that I'm indifferent. Darius is like My Guy while Alador is just kinda There. BUT I keep saying that if you bring up a funny enough Dalador scenario I WILL entertain it because the ship has so much comedy potential to me. And this!!! Is fucking hysterical.
