Day212: Prep-pared Meals from Kroger (their answer to Blue Apron). These were BOGO this week so it was a great time to try them. PROS: 1. Everything was pre-chopped. 2. Each only required one pot for cooking. 3. The chicken was precooked. Shrimp was not. 4. At BOGO the price was 👌🏻. 5. No subscription obligations, so you can pick only what looks yum when you need it. 6. The bbq chicken flatbreads were a big hit. The shrimp creole was great after I added a can of tomatoes, a can of black beans, and some cheese (from my pantry). CONS: 1. Regular price is more than I would spend. Partly because... 2. I need 2 boxes of each to feed my family of 6. 3. There was tons of plastic packaging with each meal.👎🏻👎🏻 4. They’re not delivered to your door (like BA). My friend Rita showed me this restaurant called “Kona Grill”. Even their iced tea is good, but I enjoyed their bbq chicken flatbread and big kahuna burger. They also have a food and beverage happy hour 3-7pm, it’s a good value at that time. #Konagrill #bbqchickenflatbread #burger #icedtea
