It was supposed to be a routine patrol. Robin and Beast Boy had taken to the streets, making sure Jump City was quiet. Robin had decided on this route out of habit, but tonight, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Cyborg was handling comms back at the tower, and Starfire had stayed behind to help with some “personal matters,” which was vague but not unusual for Starfire.

At least, that’s what they thought.

Robin was the first to notice. It wasn’t an alarm or a signal—just a fleeting glimpse of a familiar figure in the distance. “Hold up,” he said, coming to a halt on a rooftop overlooking one of the quieter streets. His eyes narrowed behind his mask.

Beast Boy swung up beside him, his sharp eyes following Robin’s gaze. “Is that—” His jaw practically hit the floor. “No way…”

Below them, walking down the street, was Raven. But it wasn’t the Raven they were used to seeing. She wasn’t in her usual dark, hooded uniform or wearing the simple clothes she wore around the tower. Tonight, she looked different. She was dressed in an elegant dark purple dress, something simple yet stunning, her normally wild hair styled into soft waves.

But what really made Beast Boy do a double-take was the way she smiled. Not a sarcastic smirk or a brief, half-hearted one, but an actual, genuine smile. It was subtle, but it was there.

“What’s she doing?” Beast Boy whispered, eyes wide as he took in the scene. “She never goes out like this.”

Robin gave him a quick side-eye, but his expression remained neutral, a calm understanding settling in. “She’s with Aqualad,” he said simply, his voice even.

Beast Boy blinked. “Wait, what?!” His eyes darted to the tall figure walking beside Raven—Aqualad. And sure enough, he was laughing at something Raven had said, his hand casually brushing against hers as they walked side by side. Raven didn’t pull away. She didn’t flinch or roll her eyes. Instead, she let the contact linger, her body language relaxed in a way Beast Boy had never seen before.

He felt his heart drop a little. “What’s going on? Since when do they…?”

“That explains why she took today off.” Robin said quietly, his voice carrying an air of understanding rather than surprise. “Starfire’s mentioned it. Raven asked for her help tonight.”

Beast Boy turned to Robin, his brow furrowed. “Wait, Starfire knew about this?”

As if on cue, Starfire’s bright energy shot down from above, landing gracefully next to the two of them. She was glowing with excitement, practically vibrating with happiness. “Oh, yes!” she exclaimed, beaming. “I helped her prepare for this glorious occasion!”

“Prepare?” Beast Boy echoed, still reeling. “What—how—why didn’t anyone tell me?”

Starfire’s smile softened, her gaze becoming gentle. “Raven asked that we respect her privacy, friend Beast Boy. She wished for this to be a calm, special evening. I aided her in choosing the proper attire for her date with Aqualad.”

“Date?” Beast Boy’s voice cracked. “They’re on a date?”

Robin remained quiet, crossing his arms as he watched from the rooftop. He knew how much Raven valued her privacy. If she had chosen to open up to Aqualad, to share a part of herself with him, it wasn’t something that should be questioned. He respected her decision, but he understood how seeing this side of Raven for the first time could be a shock for someone like Beast Boy.

“Look,” Robin said calmly, placing a hand on Beast Boy’s shoulder. “We all care about Raven, but she’s allowed to have her own life, Beast Boy.”

Beast Boy opened his mouth to argue, but the words didn’t come. His eyes were glued to the sight of Raven, who was now standing with Aqualad at the corner of the street. She looked… happy. More open than Beast Boy had ever seen her. He couldn’t wrap his head around it—Raven, the girl who rolled her eyes at the mere mention of romance, was standing there, smiling at Aqualad, looking like she actually enjoyed herself.

And then, it happened.

Aqualad leaned in, slow and sure, and placed a gentle kiss on her lips. And what truly floored Beast Boy was that Raven didn’t flinch. She didn’t pull back or push him away. Instead, she kissed him back, her lips softening into the moment, her hand resting lightly on his arm. It was intimate, quiet, and completely unlike the Raven they had grown used to.

Beast Boy’s mind went blank. His eyes were wide, his thoughts scrambling to make sense of what he had just seen.

Robin didn’t react with surprise; he simply nodded, as if to acknowledge Raven’s choice. Starfire, however, let out a soft squeal of delight, her hands clasping together. “Oh, how wonderful! A kiss of affection! I am so happy for friend Raven!”

Beast Boy, on the other hand, was still processing. His heart felt heavy, like something had shifted—something he wasn’t quite ready to accept. “She… kissed him,” he muttered, more to himself than to anyone else.

“And she’s happy,” Starfire added, her voice warm. “That is all that matters.”

Beast Boy didn’t know what to say. His chest felt tight, like something important had been pulled out of place. He had always known Raven wasn’t the easiest person to get close to, but seeing her like this—happy, vulnerable, with someone else—stung more than he expected. He thought he knew her better than anyone. But maybe he didn’t.

“Dude, I… I don’t even know what to say,” he mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

“Why do you have to say anything?,” Robin said, his voice steady. “She’s allowed to make her own choices, just like any of us.”

Beast Boy nodded, but the knot in his chest didn’t ease. He tried to shake it off, but his mind was a mess of emotions he didn’t know how to handle. For now, all he could do was watch as Raven and Aqualad turned the corner, disappearing from view, leaving behind a version of Raven he wasn’t sure he had been ready to see.

And as the evening settled into the quiet of the city, Beast Boy couldn’t help but wonder if this was the start of something changing between them all. Something he wasn’t sure he could stop.

Beastboy leaned in a bit more and our lips made contact. We shared a fleeting, but authentic gesture. Beastboy tucked away my hair and beamed at me with damp eyes.

"How're you feelin'?"

"I'm afraid, but that doesn't mean I can't fight back."

I wiped the tears from our eyes, grabbed his hand, and went to battle.

I love Raven to be with Beastie, they both went through so much as kids and have been heartbroken...that's my reason why I voted for Raven.

Kory rushes through the long hallways of the hospital, Galfore right behind her. A couple of the staff members move out of the way, some in shock to see the youngest daughter's appearance. She glances at the room numbers, the receptionist at the front desk told her that her father was in the west wing with some of the best doctors in the nation operating on him. Kory slows down her pace as she spots her mother, the royal guards, Komy, and Ryan outside the room.

Luan glances up from Ryan resting in her lap and sees Kory with tears in her eyes. "Kory," She removes Ryan off her lap and runs towards her daughter. They embrace in a hug, both crying, while Komy rolls her violet eyes behind them. "How is he? Is he okay? What happened?" Luan presses her finger to Kory's lips and hushes her, "He's going to be alright. The doctors are finishing up the operation as we speak. I don't know what has happened, but hopefully, your father will tell us when he wakes up," Luan gazes over at Galfore and smiles, he smiles back at her.

"My Queen, I apologize for the circumstances in which we have to meet like this," "Galfore, please call me Luan. We aren't in public," He blushes. "Right, I'm glad to hear that my brother will be alright," Ryan scurries over to Kory and hugs her leg. Kory ruffles his fluffy curls as he holds her tight. "Kory! I'm so glad to see you! You've been gone for a long time!" "Hi Ryan," She leans down to his level and gives a kiss on his cheek.

"I'm back now, that's all that matters," Komy strolls over to the family with a smirk on her face. "Well, well, well. If it isn't sister dear and kicks. Nice of you to join us away from Kory's rehabilitation retreat," "Komy!" Luan hissed. "It's not like it's a secret mother, right Kory?" Kory wanted to snap back at Komy, however, she didn't. It wasn't the time for them to argue and Komy knew that. She wanted to get a rise out of Kory, but she wouldn't give her the satisfaction. "Komy, how nice to see you," she said through a straight line of teeth.

Komy flipped her long mane of black curls and fluttered her long eyelashes as if she was innocent. "You too sis, shame what happened to daddy," "Such a shame," Why does Kory feel as though Komy had something to do with this? Kory wouldn't put it past her if she did. A doctor in his scrubs came out of Myan's room, a small blood stain lie under his collarbone. "Good news, we were able to safely remove the bullet from King Myan's spine. Thankfully we removed it before any vital nerves or organs were damaged. Whoever shot him has terrible aim,"

"Thank you, Doctor," Luan spoke. "Can we see him?" Ryan asked. "In a few, we have to let the anesthesia wear off," "Might as well make ourselves comfortable," Luan stated. She sat back down in her seat as did Komy and Ryan. Kory stood off to the side, away from them. "Something troubles you, bumgorf?" He asked as he moved next to her. "Nothing troubles me, I'm just glad he's alright," Kory laid her head against Galfore's arm. She lied to him. That bullet wasn't just a coincidence. Someone wanted her to get the message that any of her family members were open targets. Unfortunately, she read that message loud and clear.

i only watch the teen titan show and havent touched the comics so idk if we have the same reasons but i do not like bbrae either its giving self-insert to date rae in that 'i can fix her' way or ig ppl just love the black cat girl x sunshine boy dynamic which i feel reduces rae to a sad girl trope and its always ab making the girl realize omg this boy is actually so amazing and the best thing that ever happened in my life :D

like starfire x raven is the same kind of dynamic ig but like bbrae can get so boring bcs its m/f bcs gender roles always heavily influence m/f ships which grate me and also why i rarely enjoy m/f these days.

Charli XCX says now-iconic Brat cover art was to save money

Pop queen Charli XCX wasn’t convinced that people were going to like her Brat album.

Speaking to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, she shared that the simple artwork (above) for the album – that’s one of the biggest of the year – initially was a cost-cutting exercise.

“Where the actual first idea of doing a text cover came from was to save money,” she said.

“I was like, ‘This album is not going to appeal to a lot of people.’ I was like, ‘I think I will do a press shoot and then maybe we just save on the album cover.’”

Charli recalled there was a lot of pushback – her manager, creative director and friends told her it was “the stupidest idea ever”.

But the singer explained, “It actually feels like it very much embodies the word ‘brat’ to kind of not be there because that is sort of less of the norm, I suppose, for female artists.

“I knew that a lot of people would be sort of frustrated or disappointed by it.

“And I think for me, it’s like I would rather have those conversations, which actually in some cases became quite explosive, than a picture where people are like, ‘She looks good.’”

Earlier in the year, Charli addressed the confused reaction to the album art on X, writing, “I think the constant demand for access to women’s bodies and faces in our album artwork is misogynistic and boring.’

Charli XCX is headlining Laneway this summer

Charli is currently on her joint Sweat tour with Aussie Troye Sivan, and the FOMO is real.

Troye is coming to Australia solo next month, and Aussies will get our very own brat summer when Charli XCX headlines Laneway festival.

Laneway begins at the Brisbane Showgrounds on February 8, before heading around the country.

On Friday, Charli XCX released the completely remixed version of Brat, featuring a few previously released Brat remixes as well as reworks of every other track on the album.

The album, titled Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat, includes Robyn, Yung Lean, BB Trickz, Ariana Grande, the 1975, Jon Hopkins, Troye Sivan, Addison Rae, Caroline Polachek, Bladee, Lorde, the Japanese House, Tinashe, Julian Casablancas, Bon Iver, Shygirl, Billie Eilish, and A.
