Hello! Big fan of your Berrywitched! series. Do you perhaps have any tips on drawing/writing Inquiry's personality? I'm trying to both draw and write her and I don't want her to be out of character!❔❤️

Drawing tips (or rather my personal guidelines):

- Her swoopy bangs are a little bit shorter than the other hair curl on the side of her face

-her flyaway hairs are supposed to mimic hearts!

-the bun she wears has no logic or reason, she just kinda threw it together. It’s being held up by pure will power at this point

-she doesn’t have that much of a noticeable chest when she wears her main jacket.

-also I know I never drew her shoes in the game but she probably has black boots of some sort. Pants are pretty a-line!

-don’t forget her eye bags she doesn’t look right without them /j

-the thing on her pants is a pocket that’s supposed to resemble a magnifying glass! Some people got confused with that so might as well add it here

Tips for writing her:

-She’s very tired. All the time. She does not like working when she’s off the clock, but always manages to be dragged into some kind of work anyways.

-she has a soft spot for children, although she has the personal opinion that she’s bad with them.

-she’s generally pretty chill and laid back unless you do something suspicious or put a challenge/puzzle in front of her. That, or she has a “tough gal” kind of persona. That often comes out if she’s on the clock / interrogating someone / stressed.

-she has a lot of conflicting feelings for Cherry that she insists on not talking to anyone about.

-she always makes time for Strawberry, no matter what.

-she does not like her boss she does not like her boss she does NOT like her boss

Oh I should also mention her powers! Since they got blocked off in cherrywitched…

-she has a sort of x-ray vision ability, but it’s more like a sense when someone is hiding something. She’s able to detect when things are amiss and uses her magic to try and figure out what’s being hidden from her.

-unlocking doors, solving riddles, anything that you could find in an escape room essentially she can do 10x faster than the average person.

-she’s great at using magic to decode/uncover things hidden by magic as well. If something is turned incomprehensible for example by a very powerful spell, they would turn to inquiry to undo it.

-there’s probably more but again it doesn’t really come up much so it’s not super developed.

Lrb dear god, this reminded me of that time when Alfred-chan got sooooo mad at my post explaining why fans should respect bisexual headcanons for Maria and Malenia instead of pretending like they're canonically lesbians and that they get oppressed and erased by mxf ships with them. They kept vagueing that post for like a MONTH in their blog including in tags under reblogs of Maria fanart, passively-aggressively changed their url to character+sexuality to "spite" me and then even made a sockpuppet account to start shit with me in the comments.

They deactivated when me and Val completely obliterated their "you cultivate lesbiphobic following by telling people why they should respect all sexuality headcanons instead of acting cultish or assuming their experiences and stereotypes equal canon confirmation" garbage with actual facts and logic tho but I screenshotted everything fjthfgfj (I learned to document everything the hard way after they've changed the she/they pronouns to they/they pronouns ONLY to accuse me of misgendering, so thank you for making me wiser I guess 😎). Even more vile, as they, a white person, larped as an Arab in that sockpuppet to hold even MORE "privilege" against me in discussion gjtjfh Because for them race, gender or sexuality are just badges of honor and dishonor, they don't see these as traits of actual human beings. And Dr Eugene X, who worked with them and weaponized her race to accuse everyone who disagreed with her of racism, didn't bat an eye at such a terrible act too?? As usual, rules are not for their friends, lol

It is not even the worst thing Alfred did, and yet all of this just, just, JUST because I wrote a point on why bisexual headcanon people did nothing wrong and there is no ground to claim something is canon when it isn't. 🤦‍♂️ Like, they were soooo convinced that I hated lesbian headcanons and that I'd feel angry if they called Lady Maria a lesbian, when what I was angry at is this exact toxic behavior in the fandom. No matter how much you like a headcanon, don't be a bitch about it. Maria doesn't """belong""" to any gender or sexuality, she belongs to anyone who likes her and is invested in her complexity as a character!!!

Yet, apparently, common Malenia simps / Finlay shippers are no better than common Maria simps / Mariadeline shippers. Just, wild how after shit like this, many people have the guts to claim that it is "sexist redditbros" who are the biggest problem of creators in the fandom. 🤦‍♂️ They'd actually blush if they encountered what such self-proclaimed "feminists" do to their own (!!!) over headcanons. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Mallory Hawke - The Champion spirit healer

major decisions bunch of facts & headcanons under the cut!

Early Life

Mallory's magic manifested late- she was 15 years old

Malcolm taught her how to control and hide her magic

So she wasn't totally helpless, she learned how to wield swords

In fact, all of the Hawke kids learned how to use them. Just in case.

Otherwise, Mallory had a fairly normal upbringing.

She was super close with her dad & younger siblings, but her relationship with her mother was a bit strained

Mostly because Mallory was expected to set a good example for her younger siblings, and Leandra was incredibly hard on her

And things became even more strained after the death of Malcolm, because he and Mallory were so alike in both looks and personality. She reminded her mother too much of him

Mallory was 31 years old when she was forced to flee Lothering with her family

In Game

Leandra does blame Mallory a bit for Bethany's death...she doesn't say it, but she doesn't really have to

Mallory uses humor to hide her grief

Until she loses everybody...Bethany, Carver, Leandra.

Then...she's incredibly angry and a lot less fun to be around.

She doesn't care for Kirkwall...at all.

It takes her years to trust Aveline

She uses dual shortswords while she's fighting, and only uses magic when she needs a little push to win (figuratively and literally)

It isn't until the fight with the Arishock that she reveals to the city she's a mage (her friends have known, though)

Her best friends are Anders & Varric

Romance

Mallory is instantly smitten with Anders, but thinks "hm this is probably a bad idea"

After the death of Carver, she tries really, really hard to make amends with her mother...

So Mallory begins seeing Sebastian, because Leandra adores him and thinks he's perfect for her daughter. Very wholesome.

(yeah she's still in love with Anders)

Mallory does genuinely care for Sebastian, and can see herself being happy with him. Marrying him. Having some kiddos.

Especially after her mother dies

and THEEENNNN the chantry happens (dramaaa)

Mallory is forced into a choice: Run off and rule Starkhaven with Sebastian and kill the man she's been hopelessly in love with for 7 years, or run off with Anders to fight for mage rights.

In the end, she chooses Anders.

Post Game

She and Anders flee and go into hiding, quietly aiding the mage rebellion

Anders has a really rough time when Corypheus shows up

Between the false calling and Justice...WELL things don't look good for him.

By the time Mallory returns from helping the Inquisition, Anders has changed drastically

Mallory is forced to realize that she's lost another loved one, but remains with him until he has his actual calling...

She keeps him hidden away, secluded from society because at that point...he only listens to her.

Once Anders is truly gone, Mallory herself joins the Wardens in an attempt to have something worth living for. Something to keep her going.

Hello! i was wondering since when and how did you get into Bloodborne in the first place? (sorry if that was already ask)

I’m getting so many lovely asks! Thank you all so much! ;0; I have not gotten this ask before!

I first encountered Bloodborne around 3 years ago, I think? I have always liked horror, video games, plagues(historically- not catching them haha) and post-apocalypse works, so I stumbled across it in the form of boss fight videos on youtube that caught my attention.

I started with just one, and then ended up watching every cutscene in the game. Then I read the wiki, thought “oh my god, this is the best thing ever?!” and I just sort of stumbled down the rabbit hole from there! I’d say it became a hyperfixation of mine twice before now, once when one of my teachers revealed himself to be a fan(the highlight of my year) and again when Jacksepticeye uploaded his playthrough.

Before, I never really had a way to enter the BB community, so I repressed my love for the game for quite a while. Now thanks to tumblr, all that pent up BB obsession energy is spilling out x,D I’m so happy to be in a space where people are just as obsessed with this game as I am, everyone is so kind and sweet and talented and it’s just incredible!

Hey just asking, What's Inquiry's relationship with Philos, Memorial, and Button(?) since they're all in the Mind Division of the Council of Witches. Have they interacted with one another? If so can you give an example?(Sorry if this is too much🙇‍♀️)

This is a WONDERFUL question!!! I had a lot of fun figuring out how to answer this…

Yes, they all interact with each other pretty frequently, with the exception of Philos and Memorial/Buttons. The way the hierarchy kinda goes is:

Philos was the leader of the mind division for C.W. (Council of Witches), therefore he oversaw everything that Inquiry did. Inquiry is pretty high up the ladder, so I like to think of her as being directly under him. There probably are people who outrank her, but they aren’t crucial to the story so I never gave it much thought.

Then he got replaced with Memorial, and the dynamics changed drastically. It became a bit of a more… chaotic environment. I can’t get into details too much, but Inquiry is not a fan of Memorial’s leadership. Eventually Memorial brought along Buttons, his assistant, and Buttons/Inquiry probably interact more day-to-day than any of the others. Mostly because it becomes practically impossible to get a word in with Memorial, so communicating through Buttons is the easiest way to ensure they will listen to what she has to say.

I even made a chart on how they think of each other if you mean more like “what are their thoughts on each other” rather than a working relationship thing. Enjoy!

I feel like a lot of media portrays cannibalism as either something gory and animalistic (such as TCM or My Bloody Valentine) or high-class and artsy (such as Hannibal or Fresh). Which is all well and good and fits what each piece of media is going for. But neither of those tones is what I’m going for with David. Cannibalism kind of has two very different but very important facets for him. There’s the actual selecting and hunting of victims, which is a vengeful, furious act targeting the predators who think themselves untouchable. Showing them that they’re not at the top of the metaphorical or literal food chain, in one of the most terrifying and dehumanizing ways possible. And then there’s the actual cooking and eating aspect, which is about comfort and satisfaction. Turning the selected wolf to the slaughter into something so unthreatening that it’s outright nourishing.

Not only does David get a supply of fresh meat to cook great food with, he gets the satisfaction of being judge, jury, and executioner.

Hey there!! Omg I'm so happy you enjoyed the latest piece! It was just a silly idea but I had a lot of fun making it, especially with rendering dear Ruza's lovestruck face, so good to know you enjoy it as much as I do lmao 😂 In general though, I'm honestly delighted you like her and think about her so much!!! I seriously didn't count on people having so much affection for her, but I am beyond grateful that you and a handful of others indeed do 💙✨️

But anyways!!! You and a couple of others asked the same question, and I am more than happy to answer! I think I can imagine what your guess might be as to the origin of Ruza's new scars, and you might be half right, at least. The one on her lip came from a certain church-goer's blade after the blood moon rises, with no thanks to Ruza's ailing heart making her hesitate in the conflict. Ordinarily, a regular person couldn't hope to land a blow on a seasoned hunter so easily, but it was certainly not an ordinary situation. The fact that her outfit has changed and the badge of her creed from her scarf is now missing are also both consequences of that same, sad state of affairs.

But the scars on Ruza's eye were actually not acquired until her second hunt, and the cause of which was a lot more mundane, for a hunter at least.

She was unable to leave the dream the first time after completing her hunt, despite asking to and wanting quite dreadfully to be set free, and was thus dragged right back to square one to start all over again. This time around, she took her first foray into the Hunter's Nightmare, which to be frank was a little more dangerous than she had initially prepared for; and while trying to acquire her Beasthunter Saif, she was ambushed by a beastclaw hunter. It was something of a challenging fight for her, particularly because she had no more vials at her disposal and was already worn down from the road she took to get there. Lucky for her, she is still a force to be reckoned with. Unlucky for her, she suffered a blow to the face among several other injuries in the process of taking that hunter down, the scars of which still remain! However, she was aided by a ✨️mysterious cooperator✨️ that was drawn to the skirmish and who ends up being revealed to be extremely important later on. So while the cause of these scars were mundane, the aftermath definitely was not!
