Headcanon:

Juliana and Florian are identical twins. They often switch places. One day, Drayton asks out Juliana and refuses to let her say no. Juliana begged Florian come to the Blueberry Academy over the Rotom Phone to come and pretend to be her because she already has a date with Kieran. Florian agrees after a lot of promises. The twins get ready for their dates, Florian looking exactly like Juliana, except with a Frostmoth theme dress, Snom theme accessories, and Frostmoth theme boots. Juliana gets her Ribombee dress, accessories, and heels and is ready. Florian leaves first, and after ten minutes, Juliana leaves. Drayton is in awe that 'Juliana' actually showed up and looks amazing. Florian wants to punch this guy for tricking his sister and kicking her now boyfriend when he was at his lowest. Drayton immediately wants to show off to others that he's dating the champion of Blueberry Academy. 'Juliana' and Drayton take a picture and sents it to Kieran and the rest of BB Elite four. Kieran, who is with the actual Juliana on Nimbassa's city's Ferris wheel, asked if she cloned herself. She chuckled and said that's her twin brother. Kieran laughed along with Juliana and continued their date.

The next day, Juliana vouched for her brother to come to Blueberry Academy, and while getting a tour of the school, Florian walks by Drayton and says that he had such a great time last night, still wearing some of Snom accessories from last night. Kieran and Juliana are explaining what happened to Crispin, Amarys, and Nancy.

There’s nothing better than going to Fun Land with your boyfriend. The only thing that gives you more of an adrenaline rush than a thrill ride is being with Eddie. You’re walking hand-in-hand, sharing cotton candy and comparing your favorite parts of the day.

“I mean, I’m partial to roller coasters, but nothing beats watching you freak out when you thought we were stuck on the Ferris wheel,” you tease, pulling a tuft of the candy fluff that he’s holding and popping it in your mouth.

“We were up there for way too long,” Eddie protests, a blush creeping into his cheeks. “I find it incredibly concerning that you weren’t nervous, actually.” He narrows his eyes. “Are you sure you’re not some kind of sociopath?”

You shrug. “If I was, would I tell you?” 

Eddie bumps his shoulder into yours and laughs. “Touché,” he concedes, leaning over and chomping on the cotton candy.

“Step right up and win a prize!” a deep voice booms from a game stall on your left. You and Eddie turn to face the barker, who immediately latches on to your attention. “C’mon, kid; come and win a teddy bear for your girl!”

Eddie looks at you and grins. “You want a teddy bear?” He doesn’t even wait for you to respond before he changes his course and sets out towards the game. It’s a simple concept: knock over the three wooden milk bottles with a ball, win a prize.

“‘M actually pretty tired, Eds,” you whisper, removing your hand from his and snaking into his back pocket. “And I wanna save some energy so I can properly thank you for this date, hm?” But your boyfriend is already locked in, determined to get that teddy bear come hell or high water.

“How much?” he asks, digging his wallet from his side pocket. He doesn’t even notice the irritated expression on your face.

“One dollar gets ya three tries,” the barker replies, holding out his hand to collect the money. You know these games are always rigged, but you know that the comment will fall on unwilling ears, so you stay quiet. 

Eddie fishes out a one-dollar bill and confidently slaps it in the guy’s outstretched hand. The man raises his eyebrows back at your boyfriend, clearly amused. He gives him the three balls and steps out of his way. “Whenever you’re ready, Macho Man.”

You watch as Eddie launches the first ball and misses entirely. Same for the second. With the third ball, he manages to knock over one, but it’s still not enough for a prize. His face contorts with frustration, tongue poking out of his mouth in a way that you normally find endearing, but you’re too annoyed to appreciate his cute expressions.

“Care to try again?” the barker antagonizes, and you wish you could slap the smirk right off of his face. 

“C’mon, babe. Let’s go home,” you protest through gritted teeth. There’s no way in hell you’re going to stand by and let him blow his money on a stupid game. 

Eddie brushes you off, handing the smarmy man another crumpled bill. One, two, three strikes. 

“Fuck!” Eddie groans loudly, earning a glare from a nearby mom, ushering her daughter away from the booth. “One more try.”

“No, Eddie. I want to leave.” 

He’s about to ignore you again and scrounge around for some loose change, but he’s distracted by a tanned arm being flung around your shoulder. 

“Aww, Munson can’t even win his girl a teddy bear!” Jason Carver oozes unearned bravado.  

You shove him away, rolling your eyes at his pathetic attempt to get under Eddie’s skin. “Fuck off, Carver,” you hiss. “And keep your hands off of me. Aren’t you with Chrissy?”

Jason laughs. “I can’t be tied down, baby,” he smirks, raising an eyebrow, “unless you’re into that.” He winks at you before leaving, calling back, “When you’re done with the Freak, let me know if you need a real man.”

Gross. 

You turn back to where Eddie was just standing, only to find his spot occupied by some random man. 

“Eddie?” No response. “Eddie Munson!” you try, a bit louder this time. Nothing. 

Marching angrily back to the parking lot, you see him leaning against his van and smoking a cigarette. 

“Seriously?” Your frustrated voice snaps him out of his pity party. “What’s your problem tonight?”

“‘S no problem,” he mumbles, but his averted gaze tells you otherwise. 

You cross your arms over your chest. “Ah, yes, because you insisting on winning me a teddy bear that I didn’t even want and ditching me in the middle of Fun Land is totally normal behavior.”

“Why don’t you talk to Jason Carver about it?” His sarcasm matches yours, provoking you further. 

“Is that what this is about?” You roll your eyes. “You couldn’t win a stuffed animal so you just let some dumb jock ruin our date?” Eddie just takes another silent drag from his cigarette. “Let me ask you: did you see me fling myself into his arms and go, ‘Oh, Jason, your ability to win shitty carnival games makes my panties drop’?”

Eddie can’t bite back his smile. “No.”

“You’re damn right. Because I couldn’t care less about that. Even if he was the teddy bear winning champion of the world, I’d still choose you.” You poke his chest with your forefinger. “Except when you act like this. We could be having sex right now, but you decided to get all pouty over nothing.”

His eyebrows raise at the mention of his favorite activity. “We could still…” he offers, glancing towards the back of the van. 

“Absolutely not,” you shake your head, watching his face fall. 

“I’m sorry, babe,” he presses a kiss to your forehead. “Just get in my own head sometimes. ‘S not fair to you.”

You take his hand in yours, swinging it gently. “You gotta talk to me about it; don’t just turn into an asshole.”

Eddie laughs, stubbing out his smoke and pulling you in for a hug. “Noted,” he says, kissing you again. “Now, how can I make it up to you?”

“Oh…I think you know how.”

“C’mon, Eds! Sing along!” you shout over the radio, giggling as he just grips the steering wheel tighter in an attempt to ignore you. “Dancing queeeeen, feel the beeeeeeat from the tambouriiiiiiiine, oh yeahhhhhh!” You nudge him gently. “Don’t be shy!”

“You can dance! You can jive! Having the time of your life!” He sings in an obnoxious falsetto, making you laugh even harder. “You’re lucky I love you.”

“Yeah,” you agree, smiling contentedly. “I am.”

Season 1 Episode 1: Human Flesh

I've seen this episode so many times and it never gets old. I don't remember how I felt watching it the first time, but I always enjoy it as if I am looking back at old home movies. The nostalgia I get from the opening credits music to the animation is so amazing. Every time I see a clip of this ep I have to rewatch it it's just so funny. When Bob goes out to confront Hugo and Ron in their van then grabs Hugo is so funny. That's one thing I wish was a bit more consistent, I love when Bob has his deranged moments lol. But I get it he's a tired old man! Helping Hugo get out of the spot is too real. I don't know how to parallel park. I barely know how to drive. Took me three tries to pass my driver's test. I fell victim to the California roll 😔🤚. Every time I'm driving someone around I always make them park for me so I get it.

Overall I give this episode a 8.5/10. I do wanna establish now that my favorite types of episodes are the emotional ones that make me feel like I swallowed the sun. These funny ones are a close second though. This episode perfectly sets up the wholesome but crackhead family dynamic shown throughout the rest of the show and really gets your attention. One of the reasons I find it so hard to start new shows is because it starts out so SLOW but this is a cute lil episode that has too many iconic moments to just have it as background noise. Seeing Bob and Linda on the ferris wheel makes me so excited to start a family and grow old w my man 🥹 they are such couple goals AND parent goals.

i kinda struggle with structuring stories, especially with making a beginning and middle before getting to the part that's in my head. anyway some context is that this is for my ghost leafy au and how i actually wanted to end it (i drew the end but couldn't find a good way to construct how it gets to there in a comic)

essentially firey talks to golf ball, tennis ball and basketball, asking if they're willing to help him with thinking about constructing a time machine. gb jumps at the idea of making something that's considered impossible (it turns into an ii crossover with gb, tb and bb calling test tube and fan for assistance cuz they're all science buddies). it takes a while before it's made and functional, meanwhile firey contemplates on how he wants to change the past due to the guilt just eating him alive. after the gang finishes the time machine, they give firey very specific instructions to not change anything drastic; them not knowing that firey fully intents on changing the past. firey gives them the thumbs up and goes into the past, going back to the day he made the ferris wheel. firey goes full throttle and destroys the ferris wheel. after he does and watches his past self and leafy wonder where it is and past self lament over his lost gift, firey lets out a huge sigh of relief before he feels himself get pulled back to his time. instead of being greeted by everyone else, he's left in a white void as he watches himself slowly fade away, realizing that his timeline was erased; leading to this

The House at the End of the World

Darkness came with the first falling of snow. 

Here, in the cabin at the end of the world, the darkness did not leave and neither did the snow once they fell. Both were His constant companions until the first glow of sunlight peeked over the southern horizon in a few months’ time. The dark quiet of the world was beautiful and harsh in equal measures just like He was. 

He welcomed the light and warmth of the sun because it meant rest,  but he did not relish what else it brought.

When the first rays of sunlight appeared in the sky the white streaks of light that fell from the heavens and shook with His footsteps disappeared. When He left He took all the souls of the dead and departed that had gathered in the months of darkness with Him. The earth trembled when they left and awaited their return over the long months of abundance and life.

But gathering those spirits who lingered did not occupy all of His time. He oft wandered the woods and homes of the living to pass the time until found one who caught His gaze. After that when His work was done He would seek out the cabin by the stream with its bright warmth and its white washed walls. And there He would pass His time with the man who had halted His steps. Together they lingered long in the bed of white linen and endless time, fingers playing on hair, tracing the edges of His wings, sliding over smooth skin.

They did other things as well. The man brought traditions with him and together they sought out an evergreen tree and brought it inside and covered it in decorations that shimmered white and silver in the firelight. It reminded Him of snow gracing the branches of pine trees in the forest as He went about His work. 

There was the year that the small white cat joined them. How the kitten had survived and made it into the depths of the deep northern forests He would never know. But now the cat, Senka, as the man had named her, traveled to the cabin each year in a basket lined with furs in the back of the man’s wagon. Once there she received treats, head rubs, and ear scratches from them both.

That wagon changed over the years. First it was drawn by oxen, then horses, then no animals at all. Now it was a shiny silver car with stars emblazoned on the front. Right now it was tucked beneath the wide boughs of a pine next to the cabin. Time passed, but neither of them remarked upon it. The man developed a silver streak in his hair, but age did not touch him in any other way; His hair paled from a bright gold to something more tame. And so time passed for them both. They never spoke about how it was His job to keep lives short and what He did when he left that cozy cabin His face grim and his jaw set. 

Those were nights where he had to carry out His tasks. He took a mighty sword in hand; His eyes glowed blue; He spread his wings and went in search of those who resisted the call of their eternal sleep. He found them in all kinds of places; the dark northern woods, the warm cities of the south, the streets of cloud covered islands. When He found them He reached out His hand, skin turning dark and bones glowing through His epidermis. Some would cower, some thanked Him, and then there were those that resisted. Those He had to strike down to protect the order of the world and keep the wheel turning. 

They all left the world in the same way, a flash of light—white, green, or blue. And then they waited for the rising of the sun when they would be ferried into the next world when He left this one until the darkness returned once more. Then He would set his eyes on Home and the love waiting there for Him. 

When the warmth on the southern horizon became more than just a sliver they started saying their goodbyes. Neither of them used the words, but touches lingered, kisses were more urgent, neither wanted to be the first to get up in the morning or the last to go to bed. They never said goodbye in so many words, because it wasn’t really goodbye. The man would watch the sunlight increase and then fall again with the anticipation of going back to the cabin to wait for the end of the world when they would never be parted again.

It's funny that in the lead up to this season I was like "Oh I'm not gonna be watching a lot next season so I'll be able to take it easier and maybe even get through some backlog stuff" and then ended up with a dozen shows anyway... Decided to watch this cause the synopsis sounded fun and I haven't watched a goofy romcom like this in a while so I was like "hey why not". I'm p sure I saw manga caps of this here on tumblr years ago, but honestly it's been so long I'm not even sure Regardless it was exactly what the synopsis said, the whole presentation is p low budget, as you'd expect from a title like this, but the voice cast is good, loved hearing Serizawa Yuu doing a Kansai-ben lol. Fortunately, it comes out at a good day in the week for me so I plan on keeping up with it, unless something insane happens that makes me change my mind but I doubt that I'm trynna see more of her tomboy(?) childhood friend tho 👀

I Have a Crush at Work Ep1

I'll be honest, I read the synopsis for this and was like "yeah that sounds nice and all but I'm not really that interested" but then I checked MAL and saw that my queen, Miyamoto Yume, was voicing the main so I decided to give the show a shot solely for that I actually ended up enjoying it a bit more than expected. It was super cute (in no small part due to Yume's great performance) and it's refreshing to watch a show with an actual adult cast. It's not super relatable since I'm not an office worker like the target audience but still Sadly it's in a weird situation in regards to it's subs, same as BA a few seasons back, so I can only hope that the person that did these watchable subs keeps it up for the rest of the show like they said

I May Be a Guild Receptionist, but I'll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time Ep 1

Decided to check out this show cause before the season started I read the synopsis and was like "You know what that actually sounds like it could be p fun so I'll give it a shot." I didn't even know the main girl was voiced by the TakaRie since I didn't check the cast then, but that's a big plus as well. Speaking of, she was clearly having a lot of fun with this role which helped too Anyway, nothing terribly impressive about this first ep. Everything was p average outside of the voice performances. We'll see how the next couple eps go to see if I'll keep up with it or nah Oh also, the ED is really cute, it's def recency bias, but I think it's my favourite of the season so far, tho I'd have to listen to them all again to really decide

Sakamoto Days Ep1-2

First of all FUCK netflix for doing the same release schedule for this like they did for BB, that shit is so infuriating, I literally can't understand what the hell goes on in the head of people who decide to do this. Thank god Dunmeshi wasn't like that too somehow (prob thanks to Trigger.) But anyway, with my obligatory shitflix bitching out the way, let's talk about the actual eps. They were p good honestly. The weird paper texture thing they have going on is kinda weird but it honestly doesn't bother me that much. The animation was above average but nothing too impressive, tho I'll reserve judgement until we get to the real cool scenes that deserve the sakuga. Even if they don't do proper justice to those, it'll still be a pretty solid adaptation. The voice cast is also very good, Nobu did a great job as Shin. It was funny hearing Ayaneru as Lu cause I forgot that's who was gonna voice her, tho it's fair enough cause she'll get a fair amount of screentime this cour. It's kinda annoying that this is split cour, with the next airing in summer, and counted as different seasons like other recent stuff but oh well, what can you do right Looking forward to seeing the ferris wheel scene in a few eps from now, here's hoping they cook up something good 🙏

Mahoutsukai Precure Mirai Days Ep1

It's peak I'm afraid. I had very low expectations considering how the last Otona show was, but after they released some pvs I thought that maybe it wouldn't be so bad. After the ep came out we learned the Yoshiyama Yuu was the chief animator for the show and started seeing a ton of clips from the ep along with a deluge of praise. And for a good reason. WanPre has been pretty lackluster all along but even if it wasn't, to make this look better in comparison, it still looked amazing on it's own. I'm also very glad we actually got a new transformation and attack animation instead of using the old stock ones like Otona did... You can really see yoshiyuu's touch all over the episode but especially on the op and the fight near the end, they both looked unbelievably good. Of course, hearing Takarie and Hocchan is great as well Will be very much looking forward to watching this every week, let's just hope it doesn't overshadow IdolPre too much in a few weeks lol

That was a good ep too, I was glad to see it keeping the same personality and vibes that they showed on the first ep and it even had some yuri crumbs, just for me. If they keep this up, or at least close to it, it'll be a very fun show to keep up with
