Ayden’s Build
TL;DR: Barbarian 1, Druid  2 (Circle of the Stars), Paladin 8 (Oath of the Ancients), and Cleric 9 (Peace Domain). Feats: Squire of Solamnia, Remarkable Recovery, Warcaster, Knight of Crowns, Spelldriver, Tough.
Building Ayden was a joy and a journey. To begin we were told we had 20 levels to work with and stats of 20 across the board. The only thing I knew about Ayden from the session 0 was that he was going to be a Cleric of the Everlight and that I wanted to make him the best support character I could. I also knew that the Dawnfather was aware of the mission briefing and so would have directed his growth to the task at hand.
Stats of 20 meant multiclassing into any class was possible and that any ability score based bonuses or proficiency based abilities were going to be very good. I figured that with a warlock and a sorcerer we’d have some pretty good counterspelling and 9th level spell access, so I didn’t worry myself about either of those, instead focusing on making sure we all survived.
The Dawnfather and The Everlight share 2 of 3 Domains. Life and Light. The Everlight’s 3rd domain is Peace. The Peace Domain cleric is an excellent subclass and its 6th level ability, Protective Bond, was something I knew I wanted to build around. The ability to take hits for, and aid, my siblings while teleporting around the battlefield is an excellent support ability and it also lets allies in the bond do the same, fostering sibling unity and cohesion.
With the Dawnfather having Nature as his unique domain separate from the Everlight, and literally sending himself to Exandria to infiltrate a city full of the greatest mages of the age, the Oath of Ancients Paladin seemed like an obvious path. It is the nature Paladin, (his domain) and 7 levels gives you both Aura of Protection and Aura of Warding. This means as Ayden moves through the battlefield with Protective Bond he will be granting allies +5 to saves from his cha as well as resistance to damage from spells. Incredibly good going up against the wizards of Aeor he knew he would encounter. I didn’t want to go to 10 with Paladin because I didn’t want to be immune to frightened. I just felt that fear played too large a role in the reasons the gods were here and although aura of courage is probably my favorite ability going back to 3rd edition, I felt like it wasn’t right for Ayden. He had to fear in order to reinforce his need to hope.
These two classes were set relatively quickly and then I began looking at how else I was going to build him out.
I really liked the idea of being able to grant my allies some extra attacks and so I was looking at battle master to get commanders strike and goading attack as well as maneuvering attack to help take hits for and position my allies. Action Surge is also a great ability that could really come in handy if I needed to save someone and needed one extra action to do so.
I was also looking at the 2nd level Divination Wizard ability Portent. The ability to fully dictate 2 rolls is very powerful in certain circumstances, especially if the numbers are very high or very low.
Both these seemed good but weren’t feeling totally right from a character perspective. They felt too forced.
As I was playing around with these two classes I was also building Aydens backstory. I really liked the idea of him being agriculturally focused, as this aspect of the Dawnfather is actually his youngest. Sun begets days, and thus time and seasons, and as civilization evolves agriculture follows. The fighter levels lent the idea that he has spent some time training under a knight or some such warrior, and I knew that he would eventually find his way to Trist to begin his tutelage and become her cleric. I liked there being these different eras of his life.
It was around this time that I got an awesome email asking me to describe Ayden visually so that the incredibly talented Hannah Friederichs and Cael Lyons could begin to bring Ayden and the Dawnfather to life. I wanted Ayden to be a simply dressed with a shield he took from his mentor, but no sword for striking. They sent 4 sketches and told me I could mix and match as I desired. Image #1 however was exactly as I had envisioned him. It was the simplest and had this depth to his eyes that told the story of a much older soul in this 15 year old body. It was so perfect that it made me realize I had been going in the totally wrong direction with fighter and wizard. The concepts of nature and agriculture were suddenly staring me in the face. It was not wizard, but druid, and his mentor could have taught him to be a paladin as easily as fighter, but if he is the bringer of agriculture who has he brought it to? A remote tribe still hunting and gathering was the answer. Barbarian therefore replaced fighter. I can’t tell you how influential the sketch I received was. It felt like a bolt of lightning suddenly clarified everything.
I was for sure cleric 6, Paladin 7 and now looking at druid and barbarian.
I didn’t know Druid subclasses very well but Circle of the Stars jumped out from the pack just with its name. The Sun after all is a star. When I read its 2nd level abilities Starmap and Starry form it was so obvious. I can cast Guiding Bolt to set up those attacks I wanted to grant, and I can glow instead of wild shape and either heal more or have a massive bonus to maintain the concentration spells I knew I wanted to cast. For the keeper of time to know how to read the stars just felt right. It also feel right that the druids of a tribe that had been hunting and gathering during the tumultuous Calamity would have learned to navigate by the stars, a singular constant in an every changing age.
Barbarian has a number of interesting subclasses but none felt like they clicked. 1 level of Barbarian though, for a character with 20 dexterity and 20 constitution, catapults your AC to 20 and it also gives you a proficiency in Constitution saving throws if you take it as your first class, again reinforcing those concentration rolls. He was found as a child by this barbarian tribe and his first class is also his first community. Barbarian was the strong foundation I would build upon.
I was now Cleric 6, Paladin 7, Druid 2, Barbarian 1. Reorganized to be the order Ayden would have taken them in it becomes the following:
Barbarian 1, Druid  2 (Circle of the Stars), Paladin 7 (Oath of the Ancients), and Cleric 6 (Peace Domain)
4 more levels to distribute. As a player who has mostly played 3.5 (I think downfall just about doubled the amount of 5E I have played) feats are my absolute favorite things, so getting to multiples of 4 in class levels to grab some was something I wanted to do (also I didn’t have to worry about ability score increases)! I had already given one feat up by taking barb and druid but I made up for it with the human variant. I also took the Knight of Solamnia background to give me Squire of Solamnia, the prerequisite for Knight of the Crowns which would give me the ability to grant attacks to my allies without needing battle maneuvers.
So I upped paladin from 7-8 for a feat and then decided to take Cleric from 6-9 because it gave me a feat and access to the spell Dawn. I mean the Dawnfather should be able to cast Dawn after all!
Now to feats
1) Background: Squire of Solamnia to give me the prerequisite for Knight of the Crowns
2) Human Variant: Remarkable Recovery. I knew I’d be taking extra damage so having 5 extra hp from any healing I get might just be the difference. It also plays into his background. He had to leave the Barbarian tribe he brought agriculture to because his skin could not retain the ceremonial tattoo ink that would have symbolized his initiation into the community.
3) Cleric 4 Warcaster to get advantage on those concentration checks, that along with proficiency and starry form of the dragon means I need to take 28 damage (56 if it’s a spell) to even have to roll, and when I do I get advantage and proficiency on the check. Getting me to lose concentration is gonna be a task.
4) Paladin 4 Knight of the Crown getting to grant an attack proficiency times per day combos wonderfully with Starmaps free guiding bolt, conveniently also proficiency times per day.
5) Cleric 8 Spelldriver I’m gonna be casting a bunch of spells so the ability to cast multiple each turn is going to make my support spells come out much faster. I have a big fam to take care of!
6) Paladin 8 Tough I really went back and forth between this and Inspiring Leader. Granting all my siblings 25 temp hp is amazing but ultimately I decided that as I’d be tanking a bunch of damage I’d need toughness. Toughness gave me 15 more hp than Inspiring leader would have, and I ended up going down to 14 at one point so it was a decision that very much paid off by a single HP! Don’t wanna pop a deathward if you can help it!
Last but not least we were granted 2 magic items. One very rare and one uncommon. For my uncommon I chose a cloak of resistance, a parting gift from the tribe that Ayden could not join. This upped my saves to 11s or 17s and took my AC to 23. For his very rare magic item I took a spellguard shield, inherited from the knight who brought him from the remote tribe to Trist‘s school, giving me advantage on saving throws vs spells and magical effects and inflicting disadvantages on spell effects targeting me. Combine that with resistance to spells from Aura of Warding and that’s a nasty nasty combo v wizards.
All in all Ayden’s build is an incredibly hard to target tanky support character who can move through the battlefield protecting his allies and being an absolute nightmare for enemy spellcasters. The only thing I really didn’t fully consider was just how much damage he would take from Warding Bond which totally bypasses all those wonderfully crafted defenses. As crazy as it is, I think we barely got to scratch the surface of Aydens full potential and it’s probably good those mages decided to cast spells at everyone else because Ayden was going to be a tough character for a spell caster to crack. The Commanding Rally did get to shine allowing characters who specialized in weapon attacks to get a little extra out of those 20 level commitments. Ayden’s build was crafted to keep his siblings alive and let them shine as bright as possible together. I’m very proud of him!
If you read all this then you’re as nerdy as me and deserve a reward!

YJ x FMA Pt. 8
SIKE! BETCHU THOUGHT YOU SAW THE LAST OF THIS STUPID CROSSOVER FROM ME. However, y'all underestimate the power of 1) the edling brainrot, 2) the edward elric brainrot, and 3) ed & m'gann (and kaldur).
Yeah, I have a favorite trio. What are you gonna do, stab me? >:D
Anyway, Crown is sufficiently threatening to fry my brain again, so here's 2.4k right out the gate.
🧡 Pt. 1 💛 Pt. 2 🤍Pt. 3 🩵 Pt. 4 💙 Pt. 5 🧡 Pt. 6 💛 Pt. 7 🤍
The early sun had risen by the time home was finally in distant sight. Superboy squinted against the light glaring straight into his eyes, feeling like he really was about to develop heat vision from the burn. Bialya’s heat hadn’t disappeared from the exhausted corners of his eyes yet (nor had it from anyone else’s, he noted with a glance at his friends), so, really, he was just baking on the inside and outside now. The sand still clinging to his skin didn’t help matters.
He practically shoved his way past his friends as soon as Bioship landed, Sphere following loudly (excitedly) after him. The blast of cool air from the ventilated space swept through his overheated lungs, and he heaved out a reflexive sigh.
M’gann’s giggle from behind warmed Superboy’s ears again, and he twisted toward her with a scowl, where she and Wally were helping Kaldur walk out of Bioship. “Jeez, Superboy,” she said. “Was it really that hot without a shirt?”
His face further warmed at the reminder. After everything he’d accidentally seen of M’gann’s true form during her mind battle with Psimon, he was hyperaware of her… everything. There was much more to her than unfathomable kindness, suddenly, and he—wanted to understand all of it now.
“I thought Kryptonians weren’t bothered by extreme heat,” Wally snorted. “You sure didn’t seem it when you attacked Artemis and—”
“Wally, stairs.”
“Right, right.”
Superboy rolled his eyes at Wally’s complete one-eighty for M’gann. The only reason he’d rushed to help her with Kaldur definitely wasn’t for Kaldur himself. Robin and Artemis pulled similar faces next to Superboy, Artemis’s more annoyed than usual, and they descended the stairs in brief silence, sans Sphere’s “rambling” as she took in the new space.
As soon as Kaldur was steady on floor level, he stood taller in M’gann and Wally’s holds, starting, “I believe I can—”
“You’re still way too overcooked,” Robin interrupted him with a rare sternness. “You look like you’re seconds from passing out. Just let us carry you, dude.”
“Oh, sure, ‘us’. When I’m doing all the work—”
“Uh, I’m here too, Wally,” M’gann said.
“Megan and I! Megan and I are doing all the—”
“God, shut up already,” Artemis scoffed and stalked ahead.
Wally spluttered after her back as the rest of them followed her wordlessly. “Okay, seriously, what is your deal with me suddenly—?”
“Just walk, kid idiot,” Robin snickered.
The Cave had been silent upon arrival, but their voices eventually began to echo through the halls in a familiarity that Superboy had to admit was a little comforting. As much as he’d hated those initial weeks getting used to the place, the Cave had become home, at some point. He didn’t need super senses to tell his friends felt the same around him.
They paused shortly at the debriefing room when they found it empty like the rest of the Cave. Sphere made a questioning noise at the stop.
“That’s weird,” M’gann frowned at the unlit training circle. “I thought Red Tornado would be waiting for us, at least. We contacted the League as soon as we had radio again.”
“Maybe they’re giving us time to unwind?” Artemis said. “We were gone for twenty-four whole hours.”
“Maybe. I still feel like we’re forgetting something, though…”
Kaldur’s salt water pool was located in the same living area as M’gann and Superboy’s bedrooms, which were just past the kitchen. It was then that they got their first sign of light, from the kitchen lights pooling from the other end of the hall.
Two new heartbeats reached Superboy’s ears as well.
“Wait,” he said gruffly, bringing his friends to a stop. He strained his ears for some sign of familiarity, but nothing rang a bell, and his frown deepened. “I can hear two heartbeats, not from us.”
“What?” Robin tensed.
“Is it the League, maybe?” M’gann whispered anxiously. “They can want snacks too—”
“Instead of waiting for us in the debriefing hall? No way.” Robin shook his head and, without preamble, drifted a hand to his belt. He signaled for them to take position—M’gann retreating with Kaldur to the back, and the rest distributing against the wall. Robin led them cautiously forward, keeping to the wall adjacent to the heartbeats.
He risked the barest peek into the living room when he was close enough before nodding to Wally across him.
Superboy heard more than saw the following sequence.
Robin sprung out, birdarang in hand. Wally burst after, ready to zip across to the threat—
And the birdarang flew out of Robin’s hand.
Wally’s high-pitched yelp sounded right after, and Artemis didn’t wait before shooting out of her spot with an arrow drawn.
“OKAY, THAT’S—!”
“ARTEMIS, WAIT! DON’T SHOOT!”
Superboy stumbled where he, too, had frozen from joining, Sphere bumping his back—and it took him a long, bewildered pause to realize what had disarmed Robin and pinned Wally to the wall in one motion.
A sword.
A familiar sword. Like—
“Ling?!” Robin spluttered.
Sitting up from the couch, true to Robin’s utter bewilderment, Ling had his arm extended from throwing his sword. Superboy almost didn’t recognize him despite eye contact, because, for a split second, those weren’t the eyes of a friend. But a threat. A chilling one, that hadn’t hesitated at all.
The look cleared in a blink, and Ling was furrowing his brows to say, “Robin?”
M’gann and Kaldur perked up in the corner of Superboy’s vision at Ling’s voice. “Oh, hello, Megan!” she laughed eagerly. “I knew we were still forgetting something!”
“What the hell, man?” Wally cried. “Your first instinct when waking up is to toss your sword at people?! You nearly took off my head!”
Ling’s answering grin came unnervingly easy despite his sword still lodged in Wally’s uniform. “Good thing I didn’t, then! I’d hate for us to have waited for nothing.”
“‘Waited’?” Artemis blinked.
“‘Us’?” Robin said. “Who’s—?”
He paused with the rest of them when Ling shifted wordlessly to reveal the object he’d previously been shielding. The object, that was fast asleep.
Ed. Unbothered by the ruckus, and… tucked close into Ling’s side.
Robin and Artemis must’ve seen something Superboy didn’t, because Robin suddenly chuckled, and Artemis was staring at Ling with a new, solemn emotion.
“Okay, that was kinda cool.” Robin smirked.
“The hell it was! Get this sword off me already—!”
“Oh, quit complaining, you big baby—”
“Mmmmmmhg… Greed? F’ck off alr’dy…”
The rest, joined by M’gann and Kaldur, were distracted by Wally’s soap opera in the corner, so Superboy was alone in watching as Ling’s expression spontaneously wavered with a sad smile.
“Wrong one, sunshine,” Ling murmured, brushing a hand along Ed’s face.
Superboy frowned at the strange words, but he didn’t get to linger on them before Wally was dramatically released from the sword with a great inhale.
Ling’s gaze flicked to them, like remembering their presence, and whatever tone had burdened him earlier was replaced with a warmer one as he tapped Ed’s cheek gently, crooning louder this time, “Ed, wake up.” He grinned when Ed shifted, annoyed. Without anywhere to escape, however, Ed only bumped into the back of the couch and grumbled, eyes fluttering.
Ling raised a hand to laugh behind. “Láiba… nǐ háizimen zài zhèlǐ. Yáng’eeeeer…”
Robin snapped his head toward those words, a scowl pinching his brow. “Hey! Who said anything about—”
He was cut off by Ed’s eyes peeling open at last.
“Wha’zzat?” he mumbled, touched by the faintest twang. He sat up slowly, loose hair a mess in every direction and red hoodie rumpled. He let out a tiger yawn before blinking first at Ling, and then at the team with a nudge of Ling’s finger.
M’gann was outright beaming as Ed took them all in.
He blinked once, then twice.
“… Wow. Y’all look like shit.”
Superboy was only surprised, then, that it had taken M’gann so long. Ed got no warning before M’gann was flying off her feet and launching toward Ed with an overdue laugh. Artemis caught Kaldur’s weight smoothly, smirking to herself as Ed was abruptly lifted off the ground in a floating hug with a startled yelp.
“ED! I’m so glad to remember you again! I knew I was still forgetting something important, and we were—!”
Ed squeaked, kicking legs in open air, “Uh, th-that’s great, M’gann, but could you—do this maybe on the ground—!”
Ling let out a laugh at his fiance’s plight, and that sound was familiar, at least. Superboy wasn’t as close to Ling as the rest of the team had gotten during his initial month with them, but he still liked Ling, he guessed. Ling was fun enough to laugh with Robin and Wally, but he also knew to mind his own business.
Maybe that was why he’d intended for Superboy to overhear Ed’s words before.
“I hope Superboy’s had a chance to punch his asshole dad yet. If he hasn’t, he should get one.”
“Wait, you guys weren’t actually waiting for us here, were you?” Wally’s bewildered question tore Superboy’s attention back to the living room. M’gann had finally set Ed down to his feet, looking sheepish, but, judging by Ed’s smile and pat on her arm, he didn’t mind the lift that much. “I mean, that’d be pretty ridiculous. Considering how long we’ve been gone…”
He trailed off at Ed and Ling’s matching impassive and amused expressions respectively. Wally gawked.
“Seriously?! That’s, like—twenty-four hours!”
“Well, naturally, we didn’t sit here the entire day,” Ling said. “But, even if we had, why is that so strange?”
It was strange, Superboy thought, because they’d clearly fallen asleep waiting for them. Unless it was Batman needing a report from them, nobody had ever done that for them before. Waited.
The realization clearly echoed across his friends’ faces, as they looked surprised between each other.
“I mean…” Robin started slowly, “it’s not like we never have our missions handled. You should know that by now, at least, Ling.”
“Did he say you didn’t?”
Robin paused at Ed’s unimpressed interjection.
“Nobody said you didn’t have it handled. Ling’s already talked my ear off with your crazy missions.” Ed rolled his eyes toward Ling, who smiled back innocently. “Though, they’re not nearly as crazy as mine, I gotta say. Seriously, only two blown-up buildings in the span of months? You can do better than that.”
“Ed.” Ling’s laugh bubbled out of him much different than before. Easier, now, with Ed around. “You’re hardly the best influence to speak on this matter.”
“Sure, I am. I got shit done, didn’t I?”
“Extremely violently,” Ling agreed.
Superboy’s eyebrows shot up. “So… what? You want us to go around exploding more buildings? Piss of the League even more than we already have?”
“The ‘league’ can suck my metal dick. Why should you care what they think?” Ed deadpanned—causing Wally to choke on his speed-acquired orange juice. Robin made a noise like a laugh and a wheeze into his fist, where M’gann let out a squeak.
“U-Um—!”
Ed blinked at their collective reactions, before tipping back his head with a groan. “Oh, come on. You can’t actually worship them that much. Listen, they’re a buncha adults that refuse to treat you like fellow adults while still having adult expectations of you. That’s hardly—”
Kaldur was beginning to smile now, as was Artemis.
Ling chortled into his fist, sidling up to Ed’s scowling side. “E-Ed, that’s not—that’s not what shocked them. I’m certain they’re already aware of what you’re saying.”
“Indeed,” Kaldur chuckled. Maybe it was just the amusement in his voice, but he seemed to be breathing easier. Rasping less, to Superboy’s ears. “We are quite aware of that, Ed. Thank you for caring enough to remind us, however.”
Ed opened his mouth to respond to that, before his eyes fell behind Superboy.
Sphere had reminded them of her presence again with a cheery beep. Superboy heard the surprised skip of Ed’s heart before he blurted, “What the fuck is that thing?”
Superboy perked up without thinking, and Wally snickered, “Oh, you’re gonna love this. Get this: Her name is Sphere.”
Ed was still staring intently at Sphere, too distracted to push off Wally’s elbow from his shoulder, but Ling’s eyebrows shot up.
Superboy’s face warmed, and he scowled. “It’s a perfectly normal name!” he snapped at Wally’s face. “Besides, she doesn’t seem to mind it.”
“Yeah, ‘cause ‘she’s’ a machine—”
“Holy shit,” Ed suddenly interrupted, eyes going wide. “You’re telling me that thing’s alive too?”
“Well, kind of—WOAH, HEY!”
Wally’s yelp went yet again ignored as Ed surged forward, leaving him to crash. Robin and Artemis burst out laughing at him while Ed already had his hands on Sphere.
Superboy’s scowl wavered when Sphere leaned into Ed’s groping with a chirp.
“Holy shit, you are,” Ed breathed. A wide grin split his face. “How is that possible? Are you like Ship? You don’t feel the same, though—you kind of feel like all that stuff from that shitty lab, actually—oh! You kind of have a heart there, don’t you? Hey, Ling, get over here!”
Sphere was downright preening under Ed’s awe, and he was apparently right about her having a “heart”, because she beeped an affirmative too.
“She just feels like cold metal to me, Ed,” Ling laughed when Ed dragged his hand to Sphere’s surface. “I don’t think I can—”
“That’s not what I’m checking, shut up!”
Ling closed his mouth with a grin—expression infinitely softening as Ed’s sharp eyes flicked between Sphere and Ling’s hand. Eventually, he brightened.
“I knew it!” Ed beamed. “That is a heart—kind of. It feels way too close to your pulse to not be one.”
M’gann floated over from where she’d only been watching before. “I thought the same thing!” she exclaimed. “She doesn’t feel quite like Ship, but—”
“She’s definitely still something,” Ed finished eagerly for her.
Wally and Artemis were looking incredulously between Ed and M’gann (that was right, they hadn’t overheard the two bonding in the kitchen), but Kaldur just seemed astounded at their conclusions. He walked over, curious himself now, and Ed scooted out of the way for Kaldur to get a feel of his own.
He waited for a consenting noise from Sphere before lowering his hand.
“You can feel it, right?” M’gann asked, leaning toward him eagerly with Ed.
Superboy smirked as Kaldur visibly considered his next words. “I… can definitely feel something under my hand. Although, I would hesitate to call it a heartbeat, per se…”
“Good enough,” Ed decided. “And, speaking of, why do you look the worst-off between everyone? You’re pale as shit.”
“That is… a rather long story, that I still do not have a full recollection of yet.” Kaldur grimaced. “Perhaps we can tell it after we have all cleaned-up?”
“That’s an excellent idea!” Ling bounced to Ed’s side, sneaking an arm around his fiance. “While you’re doing that, Ed can finally brush his teeth!”
“Oh, because your breath smells so much better—!”
Ling was all smiles as he led himself and Ed to their bedroom, quipping back something that had Ed’s brow ticking. M’gann giggled at the crude reply that echoed, standing to a hover next to Superboy.
“It’s great to be home, huh?” she said to him.
Superboy’s answering smile had nothing to do with Ed.
“Yeah,” he said, eyes stuck on her profile. “Great.”

Talk to Me: part 3
I'VE FINALLY DONE IT! like a week ago
Part 1, Part 2, part 4, part 5, part 6
It has around 3650 words so definitely the shortest chapter. Anyway, I've made my sister cry and I have some trigger warnings :D
TW: Suicidal idealization, Attempted self-harm, panic attacks.
How was Nightmare meant to feel?
Dream was crying, wailing the following day, sometimes sobbing words of discouragement to himself.
Nightmare would normally relish the idea of hearing Dream suffer, but…
No. Maybe the horrible turning in his chest was because he hadn't gotten the chance to see Dream's suffering. Yes, that had to be it, he wanted the true satisfaction of seeing Dream's suffering, not just hearing it.
Sci would more likely than not have some cameras that would do, somewhere in his lab. He would be sending Dust to pick up at least ten, he has had quite enough of Sci for a month.
In the meanwhile he and the rest of his men would survey Dream's hiding place after he made his return to the Omega Timeline.
Nightmare knew that Dream's place was probably massive,(Why wouldn't Dream pamper himself? He's the oh-so-loved guardian of positivity.) It was going to take a time to properly comb his house.
The sooner the better he supposed.
A quick study of the tracker's precise location before it went offline was all Nightmare needed for a portal of swirling negativity to open in front of him.
" So this is where the banana comes to be alone huh? " Nightmare's right hand said as they entered the small apartment. " Would have thought he would choose somewhere nicer, ya know, being the Guardian and all. "
Horror granted an affirmative to Killer's note.
The apartment had only one room and a tiny bathroom that sat right next to an even smaller closet with three sets of Dream's usual drapings hanging and black strapless jumpsuits folded on the ground. A twin-sized mattress lay on the ground opposite the closet. A counter, sink, mirror that could be opened, and cupboard sat on the same wall as the door, facing the end of the mattress.
Frankly, the worst part had to be the smell of mold that had wrenched itself into everything. (How did Dream not reak of mold? HE'S SLEPT HERE.)
Was this what Dream had let himself fall into? Did he truly live in such squalor? He came here to cry? Pity himself? Hide.
Didn't matter. All this did was make Nightmare's life easier. He could ambush Dream here, watch to find more weaknesses of his.
See? Nightmare could work with this. It's not like he cared about Dream's well-being, and it's not like Dream cared for him, regardless of the lies he spewed during their battles.
He supposed the only problem with this was that there were very few places a camera could go without being noticed, if any at all. He could always hope that Sci would come in with a somehow perfect device for the situation.
Actually, who needs hope, it's Sci, he always has something.
On the topic of the coffee addict and cameras, he should probably get Dust before he agrees to be a test dummy for one of Sci's experiments.
A portal grew from the shadows as Nightmare instructed his boys, " Find somewhere to place video equipment, I will retrieve them and Dust. " He walked through the swirling negativity as he finished.
Fuck, he was too late.
Dust was seated in a cheap office with one of his arms strapped to a metal table by him as he scrolled through his phone with his other hand, with Sci ready to inject Dust's arm with some unknown subsistence.
Nightmare's tentacles were quick to yank the needle out of Sci's hands grabbing his attention, " What was that for!? "
" You were about to inject my subordinate with something, and for all I knew it could kill him. " Nightmare snarled
" Oh please like I'd give him something like that, " Sci rolled his eye-lights. " It's just enough amino amides to knock out his ulna and radius so that I can get a proper sample. "
" And what do you plan on doing with it? " Nightmare crossed his arms, his tentacles twitching like a cat's tail.
" Figure out the density of magic that makes up his body. "
" Why would you want to know this? "
" Don't know, " Sci shrugged. " Thought it'd be interesting. Maybe useful in a medical field of some sort. "
" How large would this sample be? "
The scientist turned his head back to Dust's arm and studied it for a moment. He placed his hand on its side like a knife at the start of Dust's forearm, turned back to Nightmare, and shrugged.
" No, you can't have Dust's forearm. " Was he going to have to scold Sci like a child?
" Why not? He agreed to it. "
" I am his guardian, and I will not be giving you my consent. " Nightmare growled.
" So you admit you see us like your kids? " Dust piped up, still scrolling through his phone.
" I never said such a thing. "
" You said you're our guardian. "
" That is my title, and with how I have to look after you all I may as well be. "
" So you admit being like a father figure? "
" Do not put words in my mouth Dust. "
" I'm telling the Horror and Killer. "
" You will not. "
" Too late. "
The Guardian of Negativity rubbed the rig of his nasal cavity and groaned, already done with the next week. " We’re setting up so get your duff off that chair and grab the supplies. "
Dust shrugged and waited for Sci to finish grumbling about how Nightmare couldn't understand as he removed the straps holding his arm down and handed him the box with all of the supplies.
With the cameras in hand, Nightmare pulled Dust through the still-open cut in reality back to Dream's run-down apartment. Nightmare would not adjust to seeing that this was the type of person he hated so.
" Have you figured out where to place them Killer? "
" Cours' Boss, " His right hand gestured to a corner of the mostly empty closet, and the now open cupboard that only had a cup and plate. " And we could tempt underneath the mattress, but I don't think any of us want to touch it. Don't know what's growing on that… Maybe Horror would! "
A firm slap to the back of his skull that made him wobble and a growl from Horror was the only thing he got from the statement.
" Well damn, okay, just a growl would have been fine, " He turned to Horror in fake annoyance. " Who am I kiddin', it was well deserved. BUT! Onto more pressing matters, " Killer turned to stare Nightmare down with his non-existent eye-lights. " You admitted to being the fatherly figure none of us had/remember having? "
" No. "
" HE DIDN'T STAB ME! WE HAVE A CONFIRMED FATHER FIGURE! "
Oh for fucks sake.
~~~~🌕~~~~
Luckily after his subordinate's celebration, the rest of the setup went without a hitch. The cameras were smaller than they had thought, making it easier to hide them, and considering how little space there was, it was quick.
Dream didn't return to his hole that day or the day after, he came back after the Bad Sanses next supply run.
" It's fine Dream, you're fine, he says it every time, nothing has changed, nothing has changed, nothing. Has. Changed. " Dream was leaning over the sink staring at his reflection. " And… it won't ever change… he'll always hate me. " Dream looked like he was slowly reaching a tipping point.
" Did he always hate me? Was I just that terrible of a brother? How many times have I asked myself that, far more than I should have that's for sure. " Tears flow from his eye sockets. " He may as well have done it out of spite. I wish I could tell myself how wrong I am, how he wouldn't have done it just because he hates me, b- but it's clear that I never knew him. " A smile that didn't match his quivering eye-lights tightened its thread.
" Why can't I let go? "
The dim glow of Dream's tears fell in silence, filling the sink's shitty plumbing.
What was the sting in Nightmare's chest? Why wouldn't it go away!?
Why did his anger only make it worse?
Dream ended up sleeping on the mold-ridden mattress that night and arose with dark bags that challenged Nightmare's corruption underneath his sockets.
He struggled to even sit up and used the wall to force himself to stand so that he could wobble his mostly asleep legs to the mirror and open it.
Inside were a few bottles and pellets of white creams or compacted dust, Dreamed reached for one of them without thinking and applied it underneath his eye sockets in an attempt to hide the bags that had formed.
Once finished he placed it back, closed the mirror, and looked himself in the socket.
Why were Dream's eye-lights so dim? So dull. He looked so tired like he had pulled three all-nighters and run a marathon every day. Where was the blinding light that Nightmare was forced to adjust to so that he could fight him?
Dream let out a shaky breath after a few moments and attempted to sew on a smile, only for the stitching to be wired. " Come on Dream, you've been doing this for the past… all, your life… " His eye-lights dimmed as he sank into thought.
" NO! No, no. New idea, I stop thinking and get back to smiling, go to the Omega Timeline, and act like I never came here! " A strained smile forced its way to Dream's face. " yeah… I never went through that… "
Dream stayed quiet, still trying to make his smile seem natural and forcing his eye-lights to be brighter before opening the bathroom door and walking into a world that was not there before.
Well now Nightmare knew how people got into the Omega Timeline, but it probably wasn't that simple.
Anger swirled in Nightmare. At whom? He didn't know. But it didn't matter his frustration would just be let loose whenever he deemed the positive side of the spectrum grows too large.
To which it did.
Dream had barely gotten the word " brother " out of his teeth and Nightmare lashed out. His tentacles were lanced with the intent to kill and his words to scar.
And it seems that his words succeeded. The Guardian of Positivity entered his tattered apartment a little more than an hour later and immediately fell to the ground, pulling his legs to his chest and burying his skull in them. His breathing started to quicken and become strained as he started to choke on his sobs.
" I'm a moron. I'm stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid! " Dream started to murmur into his arms that curled around him. " I'm a selfish prick! I'm useless! So useless and so fucking dumb! I'm an asshole! He said so many times before! He's not my brother! He's not my brother, he's not my brother, not my brother, not my brother, not my brother, he's not, he's not, HE'S NOT! " A few ragged breaths, " I lost him a long time ago, I lost the right to call him my brother when I ran away like the useless selfish asshole I am. I just stood there, I just watched, I JUST FUCKING WATCHED. I ran away, I ran away from him, I ran away from everything instead of facing it like I'm supposed to. I let them hurt him when I was supposed to protect him because I'm useless, useless, useless useless useless! And I had the guts to cry about being overworked! I didn't work enough! The villagers were angry because I couldn't do enough! It's my fault, it's my fault, it's my fault, my fault, my fault… "
He continued the loop for a few more minutes, slowing down till the only sound left in the room was the once-a-while hick in his breath as he slowly went limp, falling into sleep in the same spot on the floor that he started.
The black apple in Nightmare's chest stung. It wanted to go to its twin and comfort it, but it also wanted to hide. Run away from the pain that he caused.
But he didn't know why.
Normally his soul would sing to the idea of anyone's misery and especially loud at the idea of his brother's. After all, Dream neglected them for the villagers.
But Dream blamed everything on himself. Nightmare didn't even blame Dream that much. He couldn't blame Dream for the villagers' actions. They were not his.
In the past, he wanted to and did. The only reason he didn't now, was because his boys had questioned why he blamed Dream for what the villagers had done. (They also jammed the fact that Nightmare was much younger at the time and was no longer allowed to call his past form weak. BUT IT WAS!)
He admitted that he was a terrible sibling at least. He wasn't. So far that was one of the only good things to come from this venture, and with how it was going there was no point in having his boys waste their time watching this with him. He didn't want them to see his weakness.
Dream came back multiple times while Nightmare planned the next attack. Nothing new was said in his brother's latest cries for peace, the same guilty pleas as before. The only thing that was new were the stings of guilt from his soul and how they got worse every time he saw Dream's dim eye-lights.
His men had also grown worried for him as he locked himself in a room to watch and listen to his brother, but today was the first time any of them said anything.
" … Nightmare? " Horror was the first one to say anything.
" Is there something you need, boys? " The Guardian of Negativity looked up from his latest draft of a deal that should get them some new chemicals for Dust to play with and sell to Sci.
Killer, Dust, and Horror stood in the opened door of his office, each with varying levels of concern. " Not much, " his right hand continued. " Just wondering if you're okay, ya know, considering the Dream situation. "
Nightmare sighed knowing fully well that was what the question was going to be. " I am fine, just struggling to figure out what to do with the information we have. "
" Yeah, figuring out that you still care for someone is hard lol. "
" What did you say, Killer? " Nightmare's eye-light stared him down.
The sadist looked over to his coworkers, " See told you he hadn't figured it out! "
" Killer, what is the meaning of this? "
Killer chuckled a little, " Come on Boss, no one looks at someone who they say they hate having a panic attack so uncomfortable unless they cared to some extent~ "
" Out. "
A kackle, " Mmmkay, see ya Boss. "
That was a concept that Nightmare did not like. He had spent centuries with a hatred of Dream. How in all of the world could he care for him?
The statement that he hated oh so ended up being what he couldn't stop thinking about. Even during his latest battle with Dream. He was silent. Dream made a few attempts to talk to him, not once calling him brother, why did that hurt? All failed.
In all honesty, Nightmare was barely paying any mind to the fight, it was still in debate. And it seemed that his turmoil only stirred Dream's own.
" He didn't say anything… " Dream stood stunned and confused, to say the least. " Is that good? N-no, it can't be good, he was so angry last time. Is he planning something big? " He let out a singular huff of air. " Of course, he is, he always has something ready. But why was he so quiet? Was he trying to shut me up? That wouldn't be shocking, I doubt he's ever enjoyed listening to me blabber about things, even then. So what!? " Dream rubbed his face. " Am I just not worth talking to… Of course, I'm not worth talking to. When have I ever been? " He groaned, walked to his bed, and sat in the corner with his head hidden in his legs as he continued to question Nightmare's intentions.
Why? Why does it hurt Nightmare so? Why does Dream thinking he is only capable of causing pain, hurt his soul? Why in the name of Toby Fox would he care what Dream thought about him? Why would he care at all!?
Why does he want to hate the one being that has done nothing wrong to him? Why did he hurt Dream? Why did attempt to injure his brother?
Why did Dream still care for him? Nightmare had done nothing but torture him since he had been freed of his stone prison. What was wrong with Dream!? Maybe something was wrong with Nightmare?
Dream definitely had something wrong with him, (Didn't everyone in this multiverse?) He returned to the small apartment a few days later with a small purple cupcake with a candle. He placed it on the tiny counter and opened the middle drawer, hesitating before reaching in, grabbing a lighter, and placing it by the cupcake with his hand still around it.
He stared the dessert down, letting out a sigh as his eyebrow creased. " It's gonna be seven years tomorrow. Well, I guess 507 years. It doesn't feel like that though. It doesn't even feel like one… " Letting go of the lighter Dream makes his way to his bed and sits in the corner. " I should be 19 tomorrow, not 507. "
How did Nightmare forget such a thing? The following day was the day Nightmare gained his freedom, the day the villagers regretted their actions, the day Dream was trapped in stone, the day Dream was freed from stone, and the day they were created.
" What are you going to do tomorrow? What big event is going to push the balance to its limit this time? "
Silence.
" Why am I even doing this? Why would you want me to celebrate your birthday? "
Something shattered.
Dream's skull wiped to the source of the sound, the bathroom. Removing himself from his mold-ridden mattress and into the room of origin.
Glass was scattered across the room, when Dream opened the door – Yes, Nightmare had the decency to let his brother have the privacy of the bathroom. – A rock sat in the walk-in shower. Dream looked up at the small foggy window above the shower head that was now forever open.
" O-oh… " Dream's skull dropped. " Well, I guess that answers that… "
He sighs, " Why am I still doing this? Why am I doing any of this!? Why am I still fighting Nightmare!? Why am I trying to make sure the multiverse stays balanced when I couldn't even take care of a single village!? Or Protect my brother! I was the worst choice for this fucking job, also I never asked for it universe! "
Dream grabbed his golden cerite off his head and threw it across the room hitting the mirror, making glass spray all around the small apartment. " I never wanted to be your damned Guardian of Positivity! I just wanted to sit under a damn tree and listen to my brother! " Tears prick out of the corners of his eye-sockets as he screamed angrily at the multiverse. " Why can't I have that!? My entire life has been centered around making everyone else happy! But I can't be?
" I could've been a normal person! Nightmare could've been normal! No one would've hurt him, neither of us would have been so stressed, we could have just been happy!
" I could just stop, what would you think of that universe!? Mmmm? Mmmm? What would you do then? What would you do if I stopped working!? Mmmmm!? " A few heavy breaths. " I could… I could stop… I could just quit. " A crooked smile crawled onto Dream's face. " The multiverse would be thrown into chaos, but who cares? I could be selfish for once! Would it be that selfish though? The multiverse would probably be better off if someone else took the responsibility, and Nightmare would like that! He wouldn't have to put up with me anymore! And I won't have to do anything anymore! "
Dream rushed to the counter where he left the cupcake and opened the same drow that he got the lighter from, but this time pulling out a box cutter.
Was he?
His brother pulled out his soul, staring down at it wordlessly as he held the box cutter.
The once soft golden glow his soul held was gone, in the apple's stead was a brown rotting mush of what should be.
Had Nightmare pushed Dream to this?
He did, didn't he? Nightmare had done nothing but torture, someone who had tried their best for everyone, had their childhood stripped away from them, had a larger responsibility than anyone should bear thrown at them when they were young, and his brother.
Dream had done nothing but try to understand, try to fix whatever the problem was, and Nightmare only pushed him away and blamed him for feeling scared of his abusers.
A sound pulled Nightmare from his realization.
" No…  " Dream pushed his rotting soul back into his ribs. " I can wait till tomorrow. That way it's a birthday present for both of us, I can be free and he can do it himself. Like he's always wanted. It should be easy enough, I can slow down a bit. Maybe I'll trip. I've been fairly tired lately after all. "
Nightmare's original plan for their birthday was to attack the Omega Timeline, hence why he was trying to find a way in. Now though it was definitely too late to attempt that and Nightmare had lost the will to after all he'd seen.
But he was going to have to do something, or Dream would probably kill himself.
Image description: two scans from the 1980 edition of the TSR Advanced Dungeons and Dragons sourcebook Deities and Demigods.  The first is of the text accompanying the entry for Hastur, a full transcript of which is under a readmore link.  The second is a close-up of the illustration and depicts a lizard like creature covered in tentacles behind a castle.  It is considerably larger than the castle and there is a bolt of lightning in the background.  The upper right corner has a stylized signature of the letters E and O, indicating that Erol Otus is the illustrator of this particular image.
End image description.
My dad owns a copy of the Deities and Demigods book from before the copyright strike, and I haven’t seen any scans of Hastur from it around tumblr so.  Here it is!  The whole thing is very influenced by August Derleth’s interpretation of the Cthulhu Mythos, and I have Opinions about that, but this is specifically where the “don’t say Hastur’s name more than four times or he’ll come Get You” thing comes from, which I think is a very neat bit of history and trivia!
One other thing I find interesting is that there is no mention of The King in Yellow (the play) in this section.  There is also no mention of the Yellow Sign, Cassilda, or Camilla, though Lake Hali and Carcosa are mentioned as part of an “alien planet”.
The book is credited to James M. Ward and Robert J. Kuntz, and edited by Lawrence Schick.
The illustrations are credited to the following: Jeff Dee, Erol Otus, Eymoth, Darlene Pekul, Paul Jaquays, Jim Roslof, David S. LaForce, David C. Sutherland III, Jeff Lanners, and D. A. Trampier.
Text transcript is as follows:
HASTUR THE UNSPEAKABLE (He Who Must Not Be Named) “Master of the Air” Greater God
ARMOR CLASS: -2 MOVE: 36″/36″ HIT POINTS: 400 NO. OF ATTACKS: 2 DAMAGE/ATTACK: 20-200/20-200 SPECIAL ATTACKS: See below SPECIAL DEFENSES: See below MAGIC RESISTANCE: 50% SIZE: L (600′ TALL) ALIGNMENT: Chaotic evil WORSHIPER’S ALIGN: Chaotic evil SYMBOL: Image of the god PLANE: Prime Material Plane (distant planet) CLERIC/DRUID: Nil FIGHTER: As 16+ HD monster MAGIC-USER/ILLUSIONIST: 23rd level in each THIEF/ASSASSIN: Nil MONK/BARD: Nil PSIONIC ABILITY: I S: 25 (+7. +14)  I: 22  W: 23  D: 21  C: 23  CH: -4
This god has a scaled, elongated body, a lizard’s head and maw, and taloned lizard claws.  It also has 200 tentacles projecting from its body that give it the ability to sense all things around it.  It is able to strike twice per round and also attack magically.
At will, it can teleport anywhere in the Prime Material Plane.  Hastur regenerates 5 hit points per melee round, and can summon 2-20 Byakhee to aid it in battle.  It cannot be magically controlled.  Creatures that are able to fly naturally will never attack Hastur, even if controlled.  Any being trying to attack the god must make a saving throw against fear.
Hastur is half-brother to Cthulhu, and like him Hastur has been imprisoned by the star-shaped Elder Sign.  He lies in a crypt at the bottom of Lake Hali near the alien city of Carcosa.  Hastur exists partly on the Prime Material Plane (and this part is imprisoned in the crypt) and partly on the Elemental Plane of Air (thus he is immune to cold and the vacuum of space).  Hastur is never more than partially on the Prime Material Plane and is therefore not completely solid.  This accounts for much of his great size.
Any time the name “Hastur” is spoken, there is a 25% chance that Hastur will here and send 1-4 Byakhee to slay the speaker.  If the Byakhee are defeated, there is a 25% chance that Hastur himself will appear to destroy the blasphemer.
Hetalia D&D 5e/Pathfinder 1e - Part 10 Africa, the Americas and Others
I did a thing yesterday. Got on ChatGPT (I know bad mun) and made rough NPCs for my Pathfinder 1e game. And I used every core character from Hetalia. So, I shared with 3 Hetalia fans I follow and was told to share all of them if I did all of them. Which I did. So here we go.
Cameroon
Race
Human (Standard) - Humans are versatile and adaptive, making them a fitting choice for Cameroon, who embodies characteristics of a nation with a rich cultural background. The bonus feat and skill point also reflect Cameroon's ability to navigate diverse situations.
Classes
Ranger (Level 5)
Reasoning: Cameroon is known for being resourceful and connected to nature. As a ranger, he can display a connection to the land, reflecting his cultural heritage and affinity for wildlife. The ranger’s wilderness survival skills are suitable for Cameroon's diverse geographic landscape.
Bard (Level 3)
Reasoning: Cameroon's rich culture is reflected through music, dance, and storytelling. The bard's abilities to inspire others and showcase culture align well with Cameroon's attributes. The bard's charm and social skills also highlight the character's engaging personality.
Monk (Level 2)
Reasoning: The monk class can reflect Cameroon’s inner strength and discipline. This class gives him a unique physicality and spiritual connection that can embody martial prowess and self-restraint, similar to the diverse influences in Cameroon’s culture: tribal, colonial, and modern.
Background Details
Alignment: Chaotic Good – Cameroon embodies both freedom and joy in his interactions with others while striving for the greater good.
Skills: Focus on skills like Survival, Diplomacy, Perform (music/dance), and Knowledge (Nature) to represent his relationship with wildlife and rich cultural background.
Feats:
Weapon Finesse (for dexterity-based combat, reflecting agility)
Skill Focus (Diplomacy) (to represent his charismatic nature)
Combat Reflexes (to show his quick reactions during battle)
Gear
Got some more questions :D
1: what color lightsaber would the duo have? (If Chris is a Star Wars fan too)
2: is mar’i in a duo?
3: on a scale 1-10, how likely would they kill? 1 being never ever and 10 being like I would kill to save you, like Jake attacking zod to save Chris.
4: would the Kent’s or Grayson throw a Halloween party and have the whole family get together?
5: what would they make when carving a pumpkin? Like their symbol
6: what’s the silliest thing they both did, both together and separate?
1. I can envision Chris wielding either a Yellow one which symbolizes his ideals for hope as per the color’s meaning or Purple due to it being a balance of Light Side Blue and Dark Side Red as it pertains to himself being a hero, a Light side type despite his past as someone born to the Dark Side. Then there’s Jake who for certain has Blue as it not only reflects his Father’s main color and his own but he’s loyal to the tenet of Justice as per that color’s meaning in Star Wars lore.
2. She’s considered an Honorary member of the Duo, meaning it can be an expected sight to see her join on their adventures and patrols in addition to having her own spare bedroom at their Fortress. It just it’s more common seeing her along with her besties Lian and Irey
3. Chris is a tad bit more likely than Jake would be on the scale utilizing lethal force, being 5/10 while the latter is 3/10 at most. Both are drilled no doubt making sure they follow the One Rule as much as possible though Chris has a tiny subconscious imprint of taking out enemies with finality due to Zod’s very tough approach to raising him. It’s a consistent internal struggle Chris finds himself in during extremely difficult battles, especially if Jake is hurt during said battles.
4. The Graysons are the ones hosting the Halloween party, only it’s being held at Titans Tower, allowing not just their own family but also the families of the other Titans, the Kents and the Batfam to gather without spacing issues
5. With three pumpkins carved in total, I can see one being their team symbol, followed up by one with a Bat and the last one being Haley and Krypto playing together
6. Chris - Tried a livestream of him dancing in his room, accidentally kicking a lamp which threw him off and resulted in him crashing all over said room. That or the time Jake and him went to a monster movie he’d seen already but when Jake was worried if he missed the good parts after going to the bathroom, Chris, likely too engaged with the movie itself, accidentally blurted out spoilers to the whole crowd
Jake - Tried to train Haley on Joe to play basketball similar to Air Bud, even getting on his hands and knees like a puppy to give her visual aid. Unfortunately for him, someone caught that on his phone and showed the footage to his class the next day. Jake strived and tries taking it in good faith but needless to say, that blush on his face stayed for the whole day
Together - Taking the T Car for a joyride around the city, only to have it get stolen by Gizmo after winning a race with him. Needless to say, Vic wasn’t happy with the two as they worked together to get it back
Happy Hallow’s Eve @gothicghost2000 May God Bless
So this sort of ties into your fantastical smutty writings.
But what classes specifically would Team RWBY be in a DnD game, and what are their stats?
I’ve actually given this a lot of thought, now that I’ve started writing D&D inspired smut more regularly over on @twisted-tales-tavern .
I will say, I will try to be as fair as I can regarding character stats, but there is a not insignificant part of me that wants to give all of them -3 in Wisdom and Intelligence after the bullshit last three Volumes.
Ruby would be a Ranger, specifically of the Monster Hunter subclass. She is the only member of the team that is seriously committed to the mission of being a huntress and was specifically introduced fighting a horde of monsters extraordinarily well. I think she’d probably also have at least a few levels in Rogue, just to get the Evasion and Dash bonus action.
Obviously, her Dex would be her highest stat, followed by her Wis, since she’s the most efficient monster hunter in the group. Int and Con are also pretty decent, since she was smart enough to come up with battle tactics and make her weapon, and she’s pretty hardy. I then gave her a zero in Str, since she’s not great at hand-to-hand combat, and a minus to Cha, since she’s pretty awkward.
STR 10 (+0) INT 15 (+2)
DEX 20 (+5) WIS 16 (+3)
CON 14 (+2) CHA 9 (-1)
Weiss was initially going to be a Conjuration Wizard, but after some thinking on her actual attributes, I realized that making her a Bard worked much better for her—both because she is an actual musician, and because it lets her use a rapier as a proficient weapon. She would specifically be a Lore Bard, giving her access to much more spells, with a specific focus in any summoning spells.
Because of this, Weiss actually ends up with her highest stat being Cha—which isn’t wrong, I do think that fits her and her force of personality. Obviously her Int and Dex are high, too, with Str and Con extremely low because gods above can this girl not take a goddamn hit to save her life—often literally!
STR 8 (-1) INT 17 (+3)
DEX 16 (+3) WIS 12 (+1)
CON 10 (+0) CHA 18 (+4)
Blake is very easy to slot away as an Assassin Rogue. Her whole gimmick is based around being able to dodge like hell and get deadly sneak attacks in, and that is a Rogue’s whole goddamn thing. I would also say that Way of Shadow Monk would be another good alternative, so I could maybe see her picking up some levels there, too.
When it comes to stats, obviously Dex has to be the best—but after that, it’s a bit more free form. I personally wouldn’t say that Blake is bad at any specific skill, which is why I didn’t give her any negative. At the same time, though, she doesn’t really excel at much, so all of her stats are pretty middle of the road, except for Wis, since she is pretty sharp about the ways of the world.
STR 12 (+1) INT 15 (+2)
DEX 20 (+5) WIS 16 (+3)
CON 13 (+1) CHA 10 (+0)
Finally, Yang is an easy Berserker Barbarian and Way of the Sun Soul Monk multiclass. It’s a clear and obvious no brainer, really. Her whole thing is that she turns her rage into a weapon in combat, and she punches monsters to death with her fists. Meanwhile Sun Soul let’s her summon magical fire to immolate her enemies.
Now, when it comes to stats, this one might get me some flack. I gave her incredible physical stats, since she is a brawler, but I also knocked her Wis to a negative stat. I hate to do it, but Yang has proven far too often that she can be manipulated and tricked—hell, she fully bought into the incredibly biased and jaded worldview of Raven despite her being her estranged mother that has never been in her life!
STR 20 (+5) INT 10 (+0)
DEX 16 (+3) WIS 8 (-1)
CON 16 (+3) CHA 12 (+1)
Rules
Hey all! I go by Mhiyah and rp for 15 + years meaning yes, I’m an adult :D and so is the character.
I do not want to interact with minors and I do not want them to follow the blog. I’m dead serious on that. No exception. It makes me uncomfortable. Please respect that.
Please note the following rules:
1. I’m not a native speaker in English. I actually do have an online dictionary open constantly :D. I do my best but there will be mistakes. Please be lenient.
2. No godmodding and don’t force your headcanons about my character on me. I’m very willing to adapt to the things you have created for your own character but not when it comes to my character. Also please note that if I make mistakes with your headcanons it’s not on purpose. I do my best but for many characters there are a lot of headcanons. Usually I try to check them again before replying. This is not possible if I reply on a mobile device though. Just tell me and I change the reply.
2. No pairings with minors obviously.
3. No exclusives.
4. No stress please. I’m a relaxed person and I do this for fun. It’s strictly character here. You won’t find me post all that much completely unrelated to the character or rp on this blog. If I do it will be deleted after a short period of time. I refuse to participate in any tumblr animosities. If people have problems with each other don’t drag me into it. I won’t take sides. I will block the person who pressures me into this stuff.
5. No hate of any kind. If I see any hate (be it homophobic, transphobic, racist or whatever) on your blog I block you immediately without any comment. I don’t want to interact with stupid hateful people. It’s as easy as that.
6. If a rp blog posts too much ooc stuff I will unfollow it. Also I don’t automatically follow back.
7. I won’t necessarily reply to threads in order. That is because sometimes I need to think about it a moment before replying. It has nothing to do with you, your character or your reply. I just want to give you a decent answer because that is what you deserve for taking the time and effort to write.
8. I don’t expect anyone to match the length of my replies. I sure tend to babble sometimes. However if I constantly just receive one or two sentence replies to a long paragraph  I will get the feeling that you are not awfully interested in the thread and then I’ll probably drop it. It’s just no fun for me then. It’s the same if everything I write is ignored. I usually do quite some research especially when it comes to fighting scenes and the jutsus used in these scenes. Fights are very difficult to write. So if a jutsu, attack or block fails (which they should at times of course) please tell me why so I know what to do with it. Usually there is enough room for interpretation after all. Also keep in mind that with battle stuff we eventually will have to go for exits and end the thread otherwise one character ends up dead :D
9. Relationships: Yeah well, that’s a difficult issue. I do not see Kakashi enter into a relationship. He sure has sex but definitely has issues committing to someone. He does not easily open up. Someone would have to be very understanding and persistent I suppose. Never say never though. As for sexual relationships. I think he does have those but no strings attached.
10. I also tend to write him a bit more ‘serious’. There are two sides to him. One being rather goofy and the other being very serious. I think to a certain degree he tends to hide behind the goofy side. Though it definitely is a part of his character too. However he has had a very rough life and lost almost everyone dear to him. 10 years of ANBU sure did not help his mental health either. Caring for Team 7 pulled him out of that darkness a bit but that also was not exactly a win for him considering he did not manage to keep the team together. Sasuke lost to Orochimaru, Naruto went with Jiraiya and Sakura with Tsunade. It was quite a short lived experience. Kakashi has to deal with a lot of guilt and self-doubt and has a very low opinion of himself. That shines through in his dark moments in the anime and manga. I don’t think he ever overcame that really. He maybe can accept that others do not think that about him. It does not change that he thinks himself to be a fraud. He avoids the topic to the best of his abilities.
11. The mask thing: I don’t think there is much depth to this really. Honestly he does reveal his face for instance while eating in the anime and it is absolutely impossible to hide your face constantly. Especially on missions. This is probably the one headcanon I have since it has never been confirmed. For me he started wearing the mask as a kid because he has a heightened sense of smell. To deal with that the mask helped and that’s it. Additionally he does have a pretty face but never gave the impression to enjoy attention. For that the mask also helps. Now he is just used to it and it still has it’s merits. However he will pull it down and not make a fuss about it.
12. Also I have a job.
13. That’s it for now. Looking forward writing with you!
Pics:
1. WW1 has several nicknames but, none so foolish as this...
Among the other nicknames are:
A. "The Chemist's War" (due to the poisonous gasses used).
B. "The Forgotten War" (much time has passed - were coning up on the century mark).
C. "The Great War" (there's nothing great about any war).
D. "World War 1" (not known as this until the 2nd World War started).
2. Valkyries on the way to a battle - where they'll decide who died a 'worthy' enough death that they deserve the honor of helping Odin during Ragnarok.
3. Leftover picture from an earlier post.
"Recipes from the Mythos lore of HP Lovecraft" - exactly what's needed to not feel when you're being eaten alive!
With 'fun' drinks like: the "King in Jell-O," "Pink FlaMi-Go," "Sunken Island Iced Tea," "Root Beer of All Evil," "Bloodbath & Beyond," etc...
75 recipes in all, so drink responsively.
4. There's 13 types of dragons in all.
But, though the Lindworm was originally wingless & limbless, you'll note that the modern version has 2 clawed arms & bat-like wings...
Blame it on 'evolution.'
5. The largest extent of the Danelaw in Anglo-Saxon England.
This was land invaded by the Great Heathen Army in 865 AD.
It lasted until 1002 AD, when Saxon King Aethelred the Unready ordered the Saint Brice's Day Massacre!!
This brutal murder of prominent Danes led to vicious war crimes - like the burning of churches & the killing of women & children...
These events would, ultimately, lead to the successful Norman invasion of England.
6. Illustration of the basic myth of the Lindworm.
The heroine is helping Prince Worm to shed 1 of its many skins...
Then, it'll be her turn.
See below.
7. Nordic 'Amazons'?
Not quite.
Female warriors have always been fewer than their male counterparts.
But, the idea of Nordic shield maidens has been known for ages.
Yet, few modern archaeologists truly believed in such tales.
Well, now there's proof that they did exist.
Now, I'm waiting for them to find the burial site of that badass, Lagertha.
She was so fierce in battle, that even her enemies were amazed of her fighting prowess!
1914: Output.
Intro: Ragnar's¹ earlier poem (also from 1914) connects thematically to "The Teuton's² Battle-Song." Both works speak about the 'glories' of war.
In "Teuton's Battle-Song," HPL sees Christianity as a foreign influence that's too weak to follow during war.
Howard tells English-Americans to remember their now muted warrior prowess - a gift from their ancestral roots.
Because it's a special quality that will be useful in the growing War to End All Wars...
Opening Quote: Since I've already posted on "Death-Song" earlier (up- dating needed meanings), I thought readers might be interested in reading some of Lovecraft's more primal version.
The quote HPL used is from the end of "Ragnar's Death- Song."
"We hewed with the brand!! My life is well-nigh over."
"Sharp is the pang, That serpents give. Goinn, the Snake,³ Nests deep in my heart."
"No more will my children rest; Great wrath will be theirs⁴, At the undoing of their sire."
"We hewed with the brand!! Full gladly do I go!"
"With the Valkyrjar,⁵ Fresh from Odin's hall!"
"High seated among heroes, Shall I quaff the yellow mead.⁶ The Aesir welcome me."
"Laughing gladly do I die."
Notes:
1. This is Lovecraft's translation of a Latin version from the Nordic original "Ragnarr Lothbrok's Death-Song."
2. Teutons were folk hailing from ancient Jutland (now Denmark).
They migrated south to Gaul (France) - attacking the Roman Republic in 105 BC. But, were defeated in 101 BC.
Martyrdom: The Roman terms of surrender were that 300 married Teutonic women would become sex slaves!
These matrons begged to minister the temples of Ceres & Venus instead.
But, their request was denied.
So, these women killed their children & strangled each other!!
This is now known as "Teutonic Fury."
3. I firmly believe that "Goinn, the Snake, is the name of the Lindworm⁷ that Ragnar slew to earn his name - &, the hand of his bride!!
But, I've yet to find any info on this dragon...
4. A father's wrathful kids - no kidding!!
Ragnar's sons were among the Danish war bands which attacked England.
They conquered a large portion of the eastern & northern countryside.
Which became known as the Danelaw.
5. Valkyrjar seems to be a misspelling of Valkyrjur, the modern "Valkyrie."
6. Yellow or golden mead describes a honey based Nordic wine.
In myth, when honey was mixed with Kvasir's blood, it was called the Mead of Poetry.
The reddish linden berry was crushed & the resulting liquid was mixed with fermented honey to celebrate the above 'event.'
This magical drink was supposed to convey Kvasir's knowledge & wisdom upon the drinker!
Okay...
7. The Lindworm is a folktale that spread from India to Scandinavia!
Indians have been trading with Europeans since, at least Alexander the Great's time.
Earlier, Indians traded with Sumeria in the Middle East.
The basic story plot is of a cursed queen who gives birth to a prince - in snake form!
He's married off to a smart gal. One who breaks his curse - by stripping!!
For every piece of clothing that she takes off, he sheds 1 of his snake skins completely...
After 7 such sheddings, the curse is finally broken!
(Sounds like the Arabian Dance of the 7 Veils!!)
Lind might mean "soft & flexible."
And worm is Norse for "a wingless, limbless man-eating dragon!"
Next: Part 2 - The Work.
Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia In the Garden of Evil Boss Rush Lufenia Quest
Lufenia Quests are currently the hardest kind of fight in the Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia (DFFOO) mobile game. They’re level 200.
In the Garden of Evil Boss Rush Lufenia Quest
The In the Garden of Evil Boss Rush Lufenia quest has 4 waves. To get all the time-limited rewards, you need to win using at least 3 parties or fewer. If you bring a char that’s synergy for this fight, the rest of your team will get boosted stats as well.
My first party was Garland from Final Fantasy I, Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII (#ad), and Paladin Cecil Harvey from Final Fantasy IV with Ramuh as my summon.
Tumblr media
My Calls were Bartz Klauser’s (from Final Fantasy V), Cloud Strife’s (from Final Fantasy VII), and Ramza Beoulve’s (from Final Fantasy Tactics). Tifa is synergy for this fight.
Cecil, Garland, and Tifa are fully MLB and Purple, including their LD. They have their Bloom Stones and all of their Boards have been completed.
Tifa’s High Armor has been upgraded to Blue. Cecil and Garland are equipped with their Burst weapons and they have their High Armor.
Garland has 3 ATK 108 with He Who Thirsts for Strife Boost★★ (Raises MAX BRV, ATK by 5% while Soul of Chaos buff active) Artifacts. Tifa has 3 ATK 108 with MAX BRV 330 Artifacts.
Paladin Cecil has 3 ATK 108 with Ordeal Grasping Light Boost★★ (Raises own INT BRV, MAX BRV, ATK, DEF by 5% if HP is MAX at start of last wave) Artifacts. Should have replaced Cecil’s Arts with triple 108/330 instead since this party didn’t even get to the last wave, but I forgot. Ah, well.
Tifa is equipped with the following real Spheres:
Shadow’s (from Final Fantasy VI) Single Critical Attack Up Longer A Sphere
Raises ATK by 10% for 6 turns when dealing critical hit to single target
Leo Cristophe’s (from Final Fantasy VI) Single Power A Sphere
When attacking single target: • Increases BRV damage dealt by 10%
Lyse Hext’s (from Final Fantasy XIV) Break Hit Attack All Longer D Sphere
After inflicting Break or attacking target afflicted with Break: • Raises party’s ATK by 5% for 6 turns
Garland is equipped with 3 of Vayne Carudas Solidor’s (from Final Fantasy XII) Breaking Power (RF) A Spheres:
When attacking target afflicted with Break: • Increases BRV damage dealt by 4%
Paladin Cecil is equipped with the following RF Spheres:
Cloud Strife’s (from Final Fantasy VII) Critical Power (RF) A Sphere
Raises BRV damage dealt with critical hits by 4%
Maria’s (from Final Fantasy II) HP Heal Base Attack All Shorter (RF) C Sphere
After recovering HP: • Raises party’s INT BRV, ATK by 2% for 3 turns
The first wave only has one enemy. The Lufenia orb is increased every time the boss takes critical BRV damage. The boss has some pretty annoying gimmicks so it’s better to not let him get a turn.
When the fight started, used Cecil’s LD right away for the buffs and auras. Used Tifa’s Battle Cry then Meteor Crusher.
On Garland’s turn, had him use Bartz’s regular Call. Was second-guessing myself on whether it would work or not though because the boss was immune to all debuffs. But reading through Bartz’s Call again, there was nothing there about inflicting a debuff.
Looks like the wind enchant and imperil were both tied to the “C” icon that Garland got underneath him when he used Bartz’s Call. So I took a chance and, thankfully, it worked. Right after activating Bartz’s regular Call, I had Garland go into his Burst mode. By then, the boss was down to 88% HP.
Tumblr media
By the time he was about to cast Ultimate Conflict, his finishing Burst move, the boss was down to 76% HP. Thanks to Garland, the boss’s turns got pushed back a lot.
Just kept on spamming everyone’s skills since I only had 50 turns with this party anyway so there was no point saving ability uses. Garland kept on delaying the enemy and dealing a lot of damage.
Tifa dealt lots of damage too. She’s really amazing. Her DPS was off the charts, especially with her Blue armor, Garland’s BT effect, and Cecil’s auras and buffs. With her Ex, she can launch an enemy and delay them by 1 turn.
Tumblr media
Cecil didn’t deal much damage. His healing wasn’t that useful either since the enemy never got a turn but his auras and buffs were amazing and really helped Tifa and Garland dish out a lot of damage.
I’m sure wave 1 would have been a lot harder if the boss actually got a turn, but since that never happened, he basically just stood there while my chars attacked and attacked some more.
My party only had 24 turns left when they finished off wave 1′s boss and got to the second wave. There are 2 enemies on this wave. The Lufenia orbs here are increased when the enemies take BRV damage.
Once again, just spammed skills and delayed the enemies to oblivion. Summoned Ramuh when I only had 5 turns remaining. By then, one enemy was down to 34% HP while the other was at 24% HP.
Tumblr media
On Tifa’s turn, used the last of her LD, Meteor Crusher. On a side note, it’s really nice to see her with so much brave. She can get a lot even outside the summon.
Tumblr media
Was already more than pleased with this team. They’d already done more than enough by getting past wave 1 and like more than half of wave 2 so I didn’t mind if they weren’t able to finish wave 2. But they’re all so super special awesome that they were able to finish off wave 2′s bosses by the time the summon ended.
Two turns before the summon ended was Garland’s turn. One enemy was at 1% HP while the other was at 14% HP. His Bind of Chaos+ finished off the boss who was at 1% HP and left the other at 5% HP. Tifa finished off the last enemy with her Beat Rush+.
My chars entered the 3rd wave with 5 turns remaining. I think they might have been able to go all the way to the last wave if there was no turn count limit per party and they had ways of dealing with the rest of the Lufenia orbs. Nevertheless, it’s really great how they were able to get this far.
Anyway, so Paladin Cecil was all out of his LD. He still has 4 uses of Saint’s Fall and 5 uses of Holy Flame left.
Tumblr media
Garland has 1 use of Bind of Chaos+, 4 uses of Round edge+, and 5 uses of Soul of Chaos+ left. On his turn, used the last of his LD.
Tifa has no more uses of her LD but she still has 4 uses of Beat Rush+ and 1 use of Battle Cry left.
By the time it was Tifa’s turn, there were only 3 turns left before I had to switch my party. Used the last of her Battle Cry then her HP Attack (Full Throttle) for the instant turn rate then either her Ex or Beat Rush+ for her last turn.
Tumblr media
For my second party, I decided to bring Terra Branford from Final Fantasy VI, Ramza, and Galuf Halm Baldesion from Final Fantasy V with Shiva as my summon.
Tumblr media
My Calls were Bartz’s, Tifa’s, and Amidatelion’s (from Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers).
Galuf, Terra, and Ramza are fully MLB and Purple, including their LD. They have their Bloom Stones and all of their Boards have been completed.
Galuf’s High Armor has been upgraded to Blue. Terra and Ramza are equipped with their Burst weapons and Terra has her High Armor.
Terra has 3 ATK 108 with Trance Boost★★ (Raises INT BRV, MAX BRV, ATK, DEF by 5% if HP is MAX at start of last wave) Artifacts.
Galuf has 3 ATK 108 with Buff Attack Up★★ (Raises ATK by 5% with active buffs) Artifacts.
Ramza has 3 ATK 108 with Mightiest Squire Boost★★ (Raises INT BRV, MAX BRV, ATK, DEF by 5% if HP is MAX at start of last wave) Artifacts. Should have replaced Terra’s and Ramza’s Arts with triple 108/330 but I forgot.
Galuf is equipped with the following real Spheres:
Eight’s (from Final Fantasy Type-0) Evasion Attack Up Shorter A Sphere
Raises own ATK by 20% for 3 turns when evading enemy attack *Does not stack with same sphere
Galuf Halm Baldesion’s (from Final Fantasy V) Evasion Attack Up Longer B Sphere
When dodging attack: • Raises ATK by 10% for 6 turns
Wakka’s (from Final Fantasy X) Buff Attack Boost All 5 D Sphere
With 5 or more buffs: • Raises party’s MAX BRV, ATK by 5% *Does not stack with same sphere
Terra is equipped with the following real Spheres:
Gau’s (from Final Fantasy VI) Full HP Power A Sphere
Increases BRV damage dealt by 10% while HP is MAX
Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca’s (from Final Fantasy XII) Buff Success Attack All Longer D Sphere
After granting buff: • Raises party’s ATK by 5% for 6 turns
Yuffie Kisaragi’s (from Final Fantasy VII) Debuff Success Attack Boost Up Shorter E Sphere
Raises own MAX BRV, ATK by 10% for 3 turns when inflicting debuff on target
Ramza is equipped with 2 of Sazh Katzroy’s (from Final Fantasy XIII) Critical Attack All Longer RF D Sphere:
When dealing critical hit: • Raises party’s ATK by 2% for 6 turns
The third wave has 2 enemies. The Lufenia orbs here are increased by dealing magic BRV damage.
When I started wave 3 with this team, one of the enemies was already down to 88% HP while the other was at 75% HP thanks to Garland, Cecil, and Tifa.
Tumblr media
Terra took the first turn. Had her use one of her base skills. On Ramza’s turn, used his LD to get his overhead buff up and running for the party auras. On Galuf’s turn, used Shirahadori+ and Dawn Katana for the buffs and auras. Also had him use Bartz’s LD Call.
When Terra got to move again, had her use Tifa’s LD Call then activated her Burst mode. By then, the Lufenia orbs were at 1. Was really pushing it since only Terra can handle the orbs here.
Tumblr media
By the time she was about to cast Trance Ultima, her finishing Burst move, the orbs were at 9 and 7 while the enemies were at 66% and 57% HP.
Afterwards, just continued spamming skills. Everyone did pretty well, especially considering no one has synergy stats. Terra took a lot of turns thanks to her LD. In retrospect, I should have spammed her LD more since I didn’t get to use it in the last wave.
Also in retrospect, maybe I shouldn’t have brought Glauf to this wave and with this party. I wanted to use him in the boss rush, especially since I even upgraded his armor to Blue but I feel like he didn’t get to shine much with this party. He batteried his allies and he provided decent buffs and auras.
However, thanks to Terra being able to get multiple turns, the enemies only got to move a few times which also meant that Galuf only got to counter their attacks a few times.
Ramza supported the party with his buffs, auras, and battery. The primary reason why I brought him here though was that when the enemies get down to 29% HP, they gain massive amounts of brave and you’ll deal 1 BRV damage until you break them. Ramza’s Shout can instantly break one enemy.
The timing got a bit messed up though. It was Terra’s turn when the massive brave damage reduction happened. Had to summon Shiva so I could quickly get to Ramza’s turn already.
Then when he finally got to move, I ended up just having him use Amidatelion’s LD Call instead of his Shout skill. Amidatelion’s LD Call reduced the brave of all enemies to 0 so it’s easy to break them. I opted for this instead of Ramza’s Shout since it’s AoE whereas Shout was single target.
Tumblr media
Another thing I kinda regret was using up all of Ramza’s LD on this wave. Should have saved at least 1 for the final wave since his LD launches. It’s fine though. I mean, things still worked out anyway. There were only 21 turns left by the time Terra finished off both bosses.
The final wave has 2 enemies. The Lufenia orbs here are increased by dealing wind BRV damage.
My current party has no way of taking care of the orbs here other than by using Bartz’s regular Call since I didn’t think that they’d be able to get this far.
Tumblr media
This team wasn’t prepared for this wave at all, but they did well enough, all things considered.
Terra was gimped here since the bosses heavily resist magic and I didn’t have anyone to imperil and enchant her. However, thanks to the battery from her allies and her brave gains before her attacks, she was able to deal decent enough damage.
Refrained from using Terra’s LD, so the enemies got to move more often. This also meant that Galuf got to counter more as well. Then I managed to get both bosses down to below 79% HP.
When that happened, a message appeared on the screen, saying something about the bosses. From looking it up, it seems they just used Sylvan Union and they need to be launched to get rid of this.
Couldn’t do anything about that though and by then my party only had a few turns left so I didn’t think it mattered anymore. Was basically just waiting for time to run out and for the game to prompt me to switch parties.
Before that though, the enemies were set to move. Didn’t think that’d be so bad since I had Galuf. I thought, why not let him deal more damage via his counters, right?
So the enemies attacked and suddenly Galuf was at 1 HP. All his buffs had disappeared. Welp, guess I should have paid more attention to that Sylvan Union thing.
Tumblr media
At least Galuf didn’t die thanks to his Last Stand. Still, was very annoyed about this because now instead of 0 HP damage, I ended up with 10685 HP damage.
One of the mission requirements was to take 15k or less HP damage so the HP loss wouldn’t cost me the run. Nevertheless, this was infuriating. So I decided to “Retry from wave 4″. Did pretty much what I did before.
Tumblr media
That is, until the bosses dropped down to 77% and 79% HP. The orbs were currently at 15.
It was Ramza’s turn and I still had 6 turns left with this party. Didn’t want to risk Galuf being brought down to 1 HP again though so I decided to “Retire current party and continue with next party”.
Tumblr media
My third and final team was Bartz, Kadaj from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, and Dark Knight Cecil Harvey from Final Fantasy IV with Pandemonium as my summon.
Tumblr media
My Calls were Keiss’s (from Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers), Tifa’s, and Fujin’s (from Final Fantasy VIII).
Bartz, Kadaj, and Dark Knight Cecil are fully MLB and Purple, including their LD. They have their Bloom Stones and all of their Boards have been completed.
Kadaj’s High Armor has been upgraded to Blue. Bartz is equipped with his Burst weapon and his High Armor.
Cecil has 3 ATK 108 with MAX BRV 330 Artifacts. Kadaj has 3 ATK 108 with Remnant Up★★ (While Latent Thoughts active: Raises own MAX BRV, ATK by 5%) Artifacts.
Bartz has 3 ATK 108 with Simple Mastery Boost★★ (Raises party’s INT BRV, MAX BRV, ATK, DEF by 5% while 2 abilities mastered) Artifacts.
Kadaj is equipped with the following real Spheres:
Garland’s (from Final Fantasy I) Break Hit Raging Attack Up A Sphere
Raises ATK by 2% when inflicting Break or attacking target afflicted with Break up to 5 times, once per turn
Oerba Yun Fang’s (from Final Fantasy XIII) Break Hit Attack Up Longer A Sphere
Raises ATK by 10% for 6 turns when inflicting Break or attacking target afflicted with Break
The Emperor’s (from Final Fantasy II) Debuff Success Attack Up Longer E Sphere
Raises own ATK by 10% for 6 turns when inflicting debuff on target
Dark Knight Cecil is equipped with the following RF Spheres:
Jecht’s (from Final Fantasy X) Critical Base Attack Up Shorter (RF) A Sphere
When dealing critical hit: • Raises INT BRV, ATK by 4% for 3 turns
Alphinaud Leveilleur’s (from Final Fantasy XIV) Buff Success Base Attack All Shorter (RF) C Sphere
After granting buff: • Raises party’s INT BRV, ATK by 2% for 3 turns
Seymour Guado’s (from Final Fantasy X) Debuff Success Raging Attack Up (RF) E Sphere
When inflicting debuff on target: • Raises own ATK by 3% up to 2 times, once per turn *Does not stack with same sphere
Bartz is equipped with the following RF Spheres:
Seven’s (from Final Fantasy Type-0) Weak Power (RF) A Sphere
When attacking target’s weakness: • Raises BRV damage dealt by 4%
Alphinaud Leveilleur’s (from Final Fantasy XIV) Buff Success Base Attack All Shorter (RF) C Sphere
After granting buff: • Raises party’s INT BRV, ATK by 2% for 3 turns
Hope Estheim’s (from Final Fantasy XIII) Buff Success Attack Boost All Shorter (RF) D Sphere
After granting buff: • Raises party’s MAX BRV, ATK by 2% for 3 turns *Does not stack with same sphere
I brought Bartz to deal with the Lufenia orbs here. He’s synergy for this fight and he’s a good support with pretty decent buffs and auras, especially with his Burst effect.
Brought Cecil for the launches. He also provides HP damage up and he batteries the party when he launches.
Brought Kadaj since I wanted to use him. He’s the first char I Blued. He’s a debuffer with some DPS capabilities. He can gold frame his debuffs so they can’t be dispelled.
When I started the last wave with this party, the Lufenia orbs were at 15, the enemies were at 77% and 79% HP, and it was turn 60.
Used Kadaj’s Additional Ability (AA), Tifa’s LD Call, then Kadaj’s LD.
Tumblr media
On Cecil’s turn, used both of Keiss’s Calls (with his regular Call, I targeted Bartz), his LD then Valiant Blow+.
On Bartz’s turn, used Fujin’s LD Call then went straight into his Burst mode. By the time he was about to cast Quick Spellblade Dual-Wield Rapid Fire, his finishing Burst move, the enemies were down to 53% and 49% HP.
Tumblr media
Afterwards, just kept on spamming skills. Got to launch the enemies a lot thanks to Dark Knight Cecil. Between him and Bartz and even Kadaj’s own brv gain, there was a lot of battery to be had.
With all the buffs, debuffs, and auras that were currently up, everyone was able to deal a lot of damage. It was really awesome to see my chars with so much brave, especially Kadaj who got brave that broke the 99999 cap thanks to his Blue armor.
To prevent the bosses from getting a turn, I summoned Pandemonium on turn 67.
Tumblr media
Dealt even more damage during the summon so before it ended, the bosses were down to 8% and 9% HP.
Tumblr media
On the last turn before the summon ended, one boss was at 1% HP while the other was at 8% HP.
It was Cecil’s turn. Bartz and Kadaj had more than 100k+ brave. Used Cecil’s Valiant Blow+ to launch the boss who was at 8% HP. Bartz’s HP attack took the enemy down to 3% HP. Kadaj finished him off.
Tumblr media
The summon ended, leaving one enemy who was basically dead already since he only had 1% HP remaining.
It was Bartz’s turn. Any one of his moves could have finished off the last boss already. Was hoping for Kadaj to be the one to deal the killing blow though. Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible since even Bartz’s BRV+ attack deals HP damage.
Tumblr media
So Bartz was the one who ended the fight on turn 69. Managed to get the score and all the other mission requirements.
The bosses on the last wave never got a turn. Bartz, Kadaj, and Cecil had plenty of skills left. Heck, they still had 36 turns left before I had to switch them out.
Feels like they really steamrolled this wave. I think I could and should have just switched to them the moment Terra, Galuf, and Ramza got to this wave.
@aceofmuses89 sent - 1, 2, and 5! :D ( Video Game Asks - Accepting! )
1. Last game you finished?
Rhapsody: The Marl Kingdom Chronicles - a cute series of sequels which follow Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure - if you're a beginner to role-playing games or don't want to tip your toes in too much, I highly recommend Rhapsody - it's very easy, minimal to none grinding required - over the course of my entire time playing it I got a game over once and even that was because I wasn't really paying attention, less due to the game being difficult - the story is really light and cute - the villain feels incredibly comedic - and it's got some emotional moments, too - plus all of your party members are puppets - things like little dolls, stuffed animals and baby dragons and the main character's special attacks involve spamming the screen with flan, pancakes and candies.
2. Game(s) you’re currently playing.
Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep (Doing Terra's story first) and also ever since I got the three original Generation 1 games on 3DS - Red, Blue and Yellow - I do try to sink a few hours a day into those, as I want to properly beat these games and give my childhood a bit of a full circle moment as I had always come close but never beaten them, before. Currently, I'm around Fuchsia City, just training for the gym battle with Koga.
5. Game(s) coming out that you’re looking forward to.
Persona 3 Reload, without question - as well as Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Also I was already excited when it was announced but seeing Atlus hype up Metaphor ReFantazio on Facebook a lot recently has really gotten me hyped for it too. Also, I'm just really excited to see what happens Eiyuden Chronicle - Hundred Heroes! I feel like it's been a long time coming and I just really want it to be a success, as a game that started with an online crowdfunding campaign, as it seems to have inspired other 'spiritual successor' like games, such as Penny Blood and Armed Fantasia - so I really really want Eiyuden to be a success and I really hope it ends up living up to the hype and the years of waiting for it.
Here’s chapter 2.
Obligatory spoilers for the regular and “other” ending for chapter 2.
Same rules as before. Your max health is divided by 2 (originally it was gonna be 10, then 5, but 2 was more reasonable), save points no longer heal, and dropping into the dark world halves your current health. All bullets move 10% faster, deal 30% more damage, and invincibility frames are halved. Oh, and healing items and other heal sources only deal 25% health back (to fit with the half health). All battles give half money (rounded down). All the enemies have double health and ACTs give half spare percentage. Enemies also never get tired normally. You can also interact with Ralsei’s Cooking Cauldron™ to fully heal all party members.
Starts as normal, except if you talked to Noelle chapter 1 and get the Light Candy, it’ll only heal 10% of its normal amount instead of 25%.
I’m the fight dojo, the life earnings win is -1 D$ (You lose a dollar), the graze battle takes way more time and only gives 50 D$, and the clover fight, attack and defense is tripled (for clover) because of how much clover loves the number 3. Also, you get a Clover Sandwich instead of a Clubs sandwich. It’s the same healing as Clubs sandwich, but only 1 party member.
In the new dark world, overworld stuff is basically the same. The first werewire fight is replaced with a werewerewire battle (you’ll see something worse later). Other werwerewires will show up before the castle too, but they will be rare or optional.
In the musical trio battle, the bullet speed is increased by 25%, and Kris going down won’t progress the battle. Oh, and when you’re able to S and R action, the trio won’t stop attacking, so no chance to heal with Ralsei.
In the first Burghley fight, his bullets go 30% faster and ignore defense, though they’re a lot weaker than normal bullets.
Falling from the coasters reduces your max hp by 25%. All the trash cans with items only have garbage in them. One has grabage though (it steals one random item).
The rest of the following area is pretty normal. In the burghley fight 2, the werewerewires that come in will get tired (of burghley) and can be pacified. Or you can also ACT and tell them you won’t be mad if they just run away, which they do (burghley is a certified wire abuser). Burghley will summon more of them every 5 rounds. Also, “Act Smart” won’t increase Noelle’s magic.
In the mansion, the Tasque Manage questionnaire is different, as the original was just left down left. In the room after the following room, the Chainmail is removed.
In the Rouxls battle, he will only ever take one house at a time (prolonging the battle). He also has tripled health instead of doubled.
In front of Noelle’s room, there is a Werestwire. I don’t really care much what they look like, but if I had to choose, I’d just make a red werewerewire (I’m uncreative). Same process of werewerewire, massively stronger than the other one. This once can only be spared at 10% HP or less. If you seem to be doing a pacifist route by this point (no losing anyone, spare at least one enemy), beating it though fighting will also count as a spare because it REALLY loves fighting. On a route where you’ve lost anyone, beating it with fighting will just count as losing it.
Queen battle is pretty normal, but the “Throw” act is always at the hardest difficulty. Dual heal only heals two party members at random, red buster is replaced with muscle rush, courage gives you one free hit.
In the GIGA Queen fight, HP is halved as normal, but the combined HP boost of all your recruited darkners will only grant 30% of the normal boost (rounded down). Also, each battle gets harder than normal as if you’re doing a no-hit (if you don’t get hit on a round in GIGA Queen battle, the next round 2 or 3 will get harder than normal).
When you go to the room to enter the basement, there’s no lock. You can go right in. The chests in the basement have 10 D$ each as a joke. The teacup in the basement is 30% faster, including movement speed.
When you go to the body of NEO, you can turn it on with a warning of (You will regret this.). If you turn it on anyways, the Spamton NEO fight will ensue.
He is always in his specil Bluight form, except without the damage cap of 10. His heart is always out, making all of his attacks have diamonds constantly thrown at you. All his attacks are armor piercing too. Finally, the wires are tougher, requiring you to cut twice to increase mercy percentage. Upon defeat, he will give you the dealmaker and a Gun.
The gun is a weapon only Ralsei will equip (Susie doesn’t know what it is, and Kris doesn’t seem to like it). It adds a magic for Ralsei.
Gun - 100% TP.
Use Ralsei’s Neutral Specil. Deals large piercing damage. Makes Ralsei feel bad. [6] shots left.
The spell will deal around triple the damage of rude buster with the excuse that darkners have different rules. It’s describes as a revolver with 6 bullets, though you can get Malius to make you a shotgun shell with some extremely rare and good armors or weapons from later chapters. The shotgun shell will count as the final shot, and will deal triple damage. When Gun is used, all of Ralsei’s stats will permanently go down by 1.
Time for Snowgrave.
Things are pretty normal up until the final bit.
Buying the Ring of Thorns will take all your D$.
In the Burghley fight, the TP bar will be “frosty”, which makes it go up at half speed. Burghley will permanently summon a werewerewire, and he will use two of his attacks at once. Once you cast snowgrave, the TP bar will become “frozen”, stopping it from going up at all until you get back to Castle Town.
The Castle will play out as normal until Snowgrave NEO. His attacks are all 30% faster, he uses different moves, his attacks are armor piercing, and you don’t get X-slash or FriedPipis. Upon beating him up, he will enter his Bluelight form. He can’t be hurt, but his attacks deal far less damage (regular attacks though). You have to call out to Susie and Ralsei three times, along with calling out to Burghley 3 times before calling out to Noelle.
Back in the lightworld, your LV will have gone up by 1. Yeah, seems killing Burghley did something. Susie also stays in the dark world this time, saying she wants to chill with lancer for a bit: With this 1 extra LV, if you talk to Sans, you’re able to fight him. Battle is different from Undertale. He’ll have a mop, and use cleaning supplies, like toilet grenades, or a kitchen gun. If you’re able to cut down his mop (he uses it to defend himself), he’ll be surprised you cut it with a pencil. He goes all out (uses a regular gun). You call out to Noelle again and Noelle will join you at this point and cast snowgrave, killing sans along with everyone in the store. You and Noelle leave, upon which she will freeze the door shut. She leaves without saying a word.
When you go to Kris’s house, Susie will appear saying you left her behind, and then saying she guesses you have to go now. Things will proceed as normal.
If any one of you decides to code my insane ramblings into existence, just give me a little credit and let me play the mod, cause I love suffering.
