Weeeeell....looks like Naruto RP is pretty much dead here hm? I know I know... not that I helped to keep it alive XD I really struggled with my muse the last couple of months. It was not so much that I did not want to write but that I had no clue what to write. It felt like I had written the same stuff over and over again and couldn't come up with anything new. I think I'll have a go at oneshots or something. I definitely will not make the same mistake I once made with a different RP blog and delete it though. I have regretted that dearly back then. So I do not know where I will take it but I will stay around I guess :)
Hope all of you are doing well!

"Come again?" the pug said, tilting his tiny stupid head to one side.
"You heard me the first time" Kakashi replied annoyed.
"No...I don't think I did" Pakkun said.
Kakashi groaned and threw his head back in frustration.
"I was robbed...well...technically someone just stole my shit..."
"Hahahahahahahhahaha!!!" the pug started laughing, rolling on the floor.
"Yes...very funny...can you...please..." he sighed.
"How long are you in ANBU again?" Pakkun asked once he had survived his first laughing fit.
"4 years" Kakashi replied and just like that enticed another laughing fit.
"Why are you naked?" Pakkun inquired once he could talk again.
"Maa Pakkun I took a bath....I was bloody all over from assassinating Tanaka...and I'm dead tired...can you guys just please track them down and get my stuff?"
"You so owe us..." Pakkun finally yielded, still far too amused though.
"Yo."
"Paws rubs for each and every one one us...come on guys...before someone sees him...Konoha's elite" Pakkun said before they were off.
"He will never let me live that down" Kakashi said with a sigh. Rightfully so really. Kakashi waded back into the water. While waiting it defintely was better to have another swim and not just sit butt naked on the shore right?

"Oh, I don't know. It was the first thing that came to mind." he snapped back, but not with full force. There was in fact a very small smile of amusement there for a mere second. About the apparent plant named Ukki... he only gave Kakashi a weird look. "I'm... going to do us both a favour and not ask."
Now that he had calmed down, scolded enough and pictured Kakashi as a farmer, straw hat and all, he listened more carefully to the other man's question.
"Yes. No. Yes." he replied to each, looking over another document as he did. "I never wanted to become a shinobi. I think that showed. But, no... I had no choice. None what so ever. I only became truly serious about getting better, stronger, smarter when– well.. And now, here I am. Head of my clan which means I definitely has no say. Ironic, isn't it? ...I wouldn't mind beans. They're great."
"How dare you. I'm not even close to his standards. Maybe he'd be a far better assistant to you, though. We should look into that. Maybe he'd be overjoyed..!~"
"What's with that look?"he asked, arching both eyebrows though the scar on the left did not let it go just as high as the right.
"It's actually a miracle it's still alive considering that I basically have not been home between the ages of 12 and 20...hard to eradicate the little guy...just like me." Well that was definitely true for both of them. He also definitely exaggerated by saying he had not been home for 8 years. Of course he had been and then he had remembered to water poor Mr. Ukki. Still the plant had endured quite some drought periods.
It was no surprise really. Kakashi did not asked why though. The reason was obvious and Shikamaru had always been clever. It was a shitty job. Plain and simple. At the end of the day you were mosty paid for horrific tasks. Most kids going for it simply did not really understand it. How could they?
"Maa that much is true" he admitted, closing his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"We absolutely should not do that...I would not get any work done...nothing at all...because he means well" he replied. Gai knew that he did not exactly enjoy this job. In order to make him feel better he might even prevent him from doing the work and get him out of his office constantly for completely stupid reasons. Kakashi might even enjoy that more. It would not get the job done though.
"He even requested...or more demand to join ANBU when h was a teen because he thought I was doing well." Of course that had not stayed a secret. Sure Gai had ask the Hokage directly but the Hokage was guarded by ANBU. Of course Kakashi had heard about it eventually. He had never adressed it though.
Maybe he could, maybe not. Nara Shikamaru did have quite the different side himself. Kakashi had gotten a glimpse of it on occasion.
"A bean farmer? The first alternative career choice you see for me is s bean farmer? Well I never thought about it though the only plant I manage to keep alive is Mr. Ukki so I'm not certain I'm cut out to be a farmer of any kind."
He had never thought about becoming anything but a Ninja. Not even as a child.
"Did you ever consider not becoming a Shinobi? Was there a choice for you? I mean we of course do have civilians in the village but coming from certain families sure makes it more difficult to choose a different path ne?"
Especially considering that the Nara, Akimichi and Yamanaka clan had worked so well together in the previous generation.
Also children mostly did what their parents wanted them to do. For the next generation of children it would be different.
"So what shall Konoha strife to excel in if not Ninja? There is in fact a report somewhere concerning that particular topic" he said and finally sat down next to Shikamaru.
"Also you enjoy pestering me... just like Gai."

"Also you enjoy pestering me... just like Gai."
narasnooze Shikamaru lifted his head and watched him while Kakashi spoke and remained silent for a long time afterwards, expression slightly pained, in disbelief and nearly in surprise of what Kakashi was saying. "This– me scolding you– has nothing to do with you being the Hokage, Kakashi." he replied firmly. "I don't worry because you are the current leader of this land. And I dare say I speak for everyone that know you, that they feel the same. No matter how unnerving that is for you." he added, eyebrow raising in annoyance. Shikamaru sighed and pulled a hand through his hair and ended up rubbing his neck. Knowing Sakura, she had possibly already said more than enough on the matter. In her own choice of words, but still... Kakashi hardly needed to hear more nagging. Plus Shikamaru wasn't too keen on being too personal about it. Surely Kakashi knew Shikamaru worried as a friend and not simply as a stupid assistant? Good grief... "Just try to be more careful... and... thoughtful in the future, yeah?" Hatake was probably tired of hearing that, too. Too bad, then. "If I– we lose you to something as stupid as a blood infection... hn... I need a smoke." Shikamaru said, standing up and stepping outside.
Ahhhh...yes that. No it did not sink in and probably never would. To Kakashi his worth was very much tied to his usefulness to the village. After all that was in fact what the life of a shinobi was about was it not?
"Maa...now you made it awkward" he said. It was no secret that Kakashi was bad at this...this being people caring about him aside from being a useful Ninja to Konoha. It just did not make awfully much sense. Or maybe it did because the person they thought they knew was a far cry from the person Kakashi thought himself to be. There were not many people left knowing of his far less jovial side. And probably all of them were bound to secrecy. These kids sure knew of his reputation but knowing and seeing were two different things. He had done a lot of nasty gruesome things for this village. Many if not most of these reports were buried deep in ANBU's archives for Hokage's eyes only. There would come a time when Naruto at least would have the possibility to see it. However Kakashi was 99,9 % sure that he would never even consider to have a look. Which was probably for the best because a lot of these early missions were signed off by Minato sensei. He did not need to know this. Times were different now and hopefully it would stay way.
"Village" he replied.
"The current leader of the land is still the Daimyo ne Shikamaru?"
His eyes rested on Shikamaru for a moment. A sudden realization flickered through his mind.
"You would read them wouldn't you? If you were Hokage...all these Hokage's eyes only stuff...I sure did... not all of them but a lot...well maybe if you ever become Hokage you will understand where I'm coming from" he said with a smile that did not reach his eyes.
Probably the only person truly knowing him was Tenzō. Tenzō stuck around knowing fully well who he was dealing with but then nice sweet Tenzō was just as bad was he not?

narasnooze Shikamaru's frown only deepened when Kakashi waved the whole thing off and said it was all good and fine, telling Shikamaru not to look at him with the expression he wore. Well, Kakashi would just have to deal with Shikamaru's face at the moment. A short moment passed before Shikamaru spoke again. "Why didn't you go and have it looked at right from the start? You're not stupid. You know it can cause a lot of unnecessary issues, just like it did..!" he threw a hand gesture to Kakashi. "An infection is bad enough. That alone with some bad luck could lead to blood poisoning. Which you are aware of." Shikamaru's frown deepened further, just slightly. He added a sigh and put the documents in his hand down to rub his face and stayed like that. "You told me I didn't need to worry before I left."
"Maa I just needed to finish a few things." He had simply lost track of time. First it had just been that one report he had wanted to look at. Then as time went by other things came up. It had not looked that bad at first. Shikamaru was right though. He should have gone immediately. Especially now. Being Hokage Kakashi owed it to the village to stay more or less fighting fit. Even though the village was sure doing its best to prevent that considering all that desk work that came with the position.
"Do you truly believe that I did not already get that particular lecture?" He had. From Sakura. Additionally to another one about still doing missions himself. He ignored it mostly. Kakashi never wanted to be Hokage. That had not changed. He would drop that hat as soon as possible. In the meantime duty to the village was the one thing that made him do it at all. If they did not want him to go completely insane over it, he would do it on his own terms.
"And you didn't..." he replied.
"You are aware that I in fact truly do not like doing this ne? Yet I still am. Everyone who is chiming in with alleged good advises on how to do this properly is very welcome to take over. I will even throw a party. If not I do this my way. There were urgent matters. I misjudged and made a bad call. It happens ne."

"As if she won't tell you anyway...it was nothing too bad...there is that kid...Honoki I think is her name ...anyway...I ran out of stuff for her to do...I mean it was not exactly my job to find tasks for her in the first place considering Tanaka brought the girl in...I then might have send her to the hospital to find the special slide rule so I can read my bloodcount properly." He regretted nothing. He still found it funny.
"Tomorrow? Why would I do that?" he asked, arching both eyebrows though the left always stayed a little further down due to the scar.
"I have managed to avoid it for days. Let them come and make me do it. That is at least a far more interesting physical than running on a treadmill and it will also be Chakra screening in one go because I have a feeling Sakura would drag Hinata along for it."
He would sit it out. Eventzally either Shizune or Sakura had it and they would show up.
"Hm?" he asked innocently.
"Oh...you heard that? There is a possibility that I might have been on one of my walks and on that walk I might have gotten a wound and then I might have waited too long to go to the hospital and there might have been an infection..."
Yeah...that had been stupid. That kunai wound had also been quite deep. He simply had not taken it that serious. It was not the first and not the last wound. The infection had been pretty bad though.
"Don't give me that look. It's alright again and I really did not do it on purpose. I plan to go to the hospital the next day...the fever hit me first though...I'm punished enough being dragged to the hospital by ANBU."

"Bakashi!" Obito was no faster to manhandle Kakashi around the shoulders, " you finally came back. "
"Ugh" he said when Obito made impact.
"I always do don't I?" he said.

Shikamaru shook his head while a smile stretched his lips. He didn't take his eyes off the documents, though. He would not comment more on either missing Kakashi and Pakkun, or the gnome joke. However, hearing that Shizune had scolded him made Shikamaru glance up briefly before letting his eyes read the characters on the report. "She's... correct, of course." Well, now he was a bit of a hypocrite. All good and fun, though, right? "What did you do? Do I even want to know?"
Shikamaru gave Kakashi an exasperated look at being told exactly who's drool it was. Now... it might not be any, at all. Kakashi did seem to enjoy messing with him. But, it could also very well be dried bulldog drool. Not that he was actually too concerned about it. He had Akamaru over on occassions, after all. Not to mention the mess some of the deer made. Yes. Some managed, somehow, to get inside the house. A nightmare, truthfully.
The image of Sakura chasing Kakashi with a syringe was both humorous and... quite terrifying. He wouldn't want to be in Kakashi's shoes. Definitely not. It was at least done. This village is lucky they've got people like Sakura... Things, important things, get done.
"I'll get you off the floor, don't worry. You can do the rest of the physical tomorrow or the day after. I'll schedule a time for you that fit best." he said, as if that was final. No negotiating. Just get it over with, Kakashi.
Shikamaru was just about to turn a page when he slightly froze in his movement and gently tilted his head, wondering. "Hold on.. 'Again' ?" Had the guy been in need of a medic earlier while Shikamaru was away? Or was he just reading too much into one word, here? Overthinking things was one of his damn specialities, after all.
#narasnooze#nara shikamaru#hatake kakashi#yeah we need to get the rust off our fingers#I probably should also watch some Naruto XD
