It's been ages, but the time is finally right to watch one of my favourite Batman movies. Mr Freeze Subzero of the DCAU. I always love that movie and I plan to watch more soon.

Batman Movie Villain Ideas, Part II: Mr. Freeze

Victor Fries AKA Mr. Freeze started out as a joke villain with an ice gun. Basically a poor man's Captain Cold for Batman to fight. That was until the Batman: The Animated Series episode "Heart of Ice" gave the character a tragic backstory that launched him into essential rogues gallery member. A doctor keeping his wife in cryogenic sleep as he desperately seeks a cure for her terminal disease, only to suffer an accident that causes him to require subzero temperatures to survive. Freeze often plays more of an anti-hero role, a villain who doesn't want to harm Batman, and who Batman doesn't want to harm, but their diametrically opposed needs put them in opposition.

Origin Movie: Like Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze falls into the "Super" category, making him difficult to do as an origin, unless we start the series "in medias res," with Batman already active in Gotham, like "The Batman." However, the common trend of Wayne Industries being the one to shut down his experiments, resulting in his accident, does give Batman a personal reason to be emotionally involved in stopping Freeze.

Sequel Movie: Like Ivy, a bit more of a natural place to bring him in, as it gives more breathing room to introduce a more out-there element. Let's keep it serious, though, give it the gravitas it needs, and not pair him up with a villain whose goals would be antithetical to his own, yeah?

Finale Movie: Sub-Zero was kind of finale-esque, and drawing his story out across a series to make him more of a tragic figure is always a good thing. Maybe start him as a friend of Batman.

Supporting Villain: The desperation to his character motivations does put him in a good position to be manipulated and forced into serving another villain for the sake of getting the medical support he needs to save Nora.

Overall, here's my rankings of them:

Sequel Movie: Probably the best way to do it without making it convoluted.

Origin Movie: It's not the worst setup in the world, and there are ways to do it while easing the potential convolution.

Supporting Villain: Another villain would distract slightly, but not too heavily.

Finale Movie: It would work, but the others work better.

Watching this Great Film! I remember when I was a kid Mr. Freeze was my favourite Batman Villain! Great in Batman and Robin, loved him in this and even that 60s Animated Series version! Time for some classic nostalgia! ♥️

i liked subzero sooo much but i cannot get over how inaccurate it is, oil starts exploding much faster than that, like i understand that its for movie pacing, storytelling and exposition, but like as soon as oil is ignited all of it will be ignited withing seconds, and like if we pretend they had all that time before it truly started the chain reaction of explosion....mr freeze was right there with his freeze gun he very much could have stopped it, one of the ways they teach us to minimize the damage of an oil fire is to cool the surface of the tanks, the same principle applies, if he had frozen that first tank, they still could have used to oil rig for the operation just saying
