Tutoriel Bendy Props (Part 1)
Hi ! Today there’s a lot to do, because we’re making props ! To appease the gods...
In this first part, I’ll show you how to make the following objects :
Bacon Soup
Vinyl
Film roll of “the End “
Gear
Wrench
Don’t worry, this the same technique for every props, I’ll just guide you through the measuring and painting you’ll have to do for these particular props !
The materials :
EVA Foam, Ultra High Density - 7 mm
Foam Clay
Contact Cement
Hot Glue
Ochre acrylic paint
Black acrylic paint
Cutter
Rotary Tool
Can
The stages of creation :
1. Make a pattern. So this time we don’t have “reel” measures in this game. To solve this problem I used the “Bendy Crack-up Comics Collection” for reference, because “The Illusion of Living” book ( that we’ll make too in one of the following tutorials ! ) is the same size as this cartoon book. For a perfect circle, I often use a bowl or a lid.
Oh, and about the vinyl… It’s a pretty small one you can find in-game, and given the comparaison with the book, it’s a small one so it’s a 45 rpm ( which makes sense since it’s a single ), and for that part it’s important to conserve the standard 17cm diameter. The gear is a 10 toothed one, and i know it’s annoying since it’s hardly symmetrical but hey, cosplay is an exact science !
2. Cut the foam around your pattern : Don’t forget that the props is in 3D so you have to cut 3 layers of foam. For the End Reel, you have to create a box-type pattern because it’s thick. For the bacon soup I just took a can of mushrooms and painted over it for the texture and the metallic feel, but you can cut it in foam too following the same technique as the reel.
3. After everything is cut nicely, you have to glue it with hot glue or contact cement. For perfect seams, I recommend you sand it gently before filling the holes with Foam Clay. For a cleaner texture, you can warm your foam in order to seal it. Sadly, I can’t do that because my heat gun is too… hot and melts away the foam, but a hairdryer could work.
4. Now, it’s time to paint ! So this part, is the longest of this creation. I don’t have real tips for you for this part, apart from looking closely at your reference pictures ( preferably from the game if you’re looking for replicas ).
You start with a coat or two of yellow ochre paint ( yes, like Bob Ross always says ), or the colour you feel is fitting, before adding in the black details ! About the tools you can use, Posca paint pens are the best, but they’re expensive. If you’re patient enough, you can use a thin paintbrush and go back and forth between coats of black and yellow if you do mistakes ( BUT ALWAYS LET THE PAINT DRY BEFORE ANOTHER COAT, ELSE THEY’LL MERGE AND YOU’LL BE LEFT WITH SAD, DARK BROWN ). It important to have a good painting ocre whit lot of pigments.
Don’t forget, you must have fun so you can add your own references even if they are not canon.
And that’s the look you can achieve in this part ! Congratulations ! Don’t forget to ask me if you need help for your own props, since I keep all my patterns and techniques.
I hope you enjoyed this post format, and I’ll tell you soon about Eclipse Studios !

Man, today I want to rant about cringe culture. Im not gonna cover the points about children and neurodivergent people, those have been covered a million times already.
First of all, I want to preface this by saying I have always, ALWAYS been a very “cringey” person. My dynamic in all my relationships for as long as I can remember has been that I’m the “comic relief somewhat pathetic one” and that is self inflicted. My own mother told me that I was so obsessed with undertale that she “didn’t like talking to [me] and regrets not getting [me] tested for autism.”
I’ve been in countless cringe fandoms, including but not limited to mlp, fanfic/fandom culture, mha, animation memes, Henry stickmin, minecraft, Pokémon, the furry fandom, cosplay, sanders sides, dream smp, batim, Aphmau, and MANY others. Undertale has always been the really big thing for me, but recently fnaf has been the thing for me. Because of cringe culture, I hate myself for enjoying things. In order to talk about my interests, self deprecating ironic humor was super common from me.
This humor evolved from irony, to self deprivation, to despising myself for enjoying things considered “cringe” (example is Undertale, but many other things, too), all the way to feeling so much shame for liking anything at all that I distance myself from everything.
Genuinely, I had a meltdown because I like hollow knight. That isn’t even a “cringe” comunity!! It’s one of the chillest out there!!! And because I “like it too much” I made myself feel like shit preemptively.
This next section is a specific example, and this is a really difficult thing for me to admit candidly because of what I’ve already said.
I am in the gacha fnaf community. It’s something I enjoy, and I enjoy it separately from how i enjoy fnaf. SEPARATE FANDOMS, PEOPLE!! (Same with undertale and undertale aus, one is significantly less socially acceptable, and people leave it out of discussions in the other context, but not the other way around.)
I stumbled across a video by a large mainstream gachatuber focusing on and making fun of “gacha fnaf cringe”. All the clips shown were people self-insert shipping themselves with various aftons or animatronics. The only clip that wasn’t that formula, was a strange video about Ennard abusing Michael Afton. They didn’t even appear to be shipped together, it was just Mike getting beat up. Idk man.
After each clip, the YouTuber would say a snarky quip and move on, but the big thing that got to me was that they had never played fnaf, and had avoided it to the point that, on their entire time on the internet, never saw the purple guy sprite.
When someone made William a brunet man with glasses, the joke was about how “I did some research, and apparently William is just a purple blob. That’s not very close to the canon design, huh?”. When William was purple, the joke was about how “the designs are all so inconsistent in the whole community.”
This person but absolutely zero effort into research. At first that baffled me, but then I realized that it’s always true.
Have you ever met someone anti furry who’s given an accurate definition of what a furry even is? Probably not. Has anyone ever added any genuine commentary to a single cringe compilation, other than “wow that’s cringe, kys”??? Probably fucking not.
There are issues within the fnaf gacha community that (if any effort was used) they could have talked about, and had an insightful video. For example, plagiarism is rampant, and shipping in a fandom related to fnaf is inherently…. a very tricky subject, if you will.
Were either of those discussed? Nope. Just comments on how weird it is that William’s been called daddy in the fnaf games before. “Maybe that’s where they got these gross aus from” ((the alias is literally referring to William’s young daughter’s dialogue))
After seeing that bafflingly ignorant video, I went to their channel to see what other stuff they make. Many of the videos were along the lines of “reacting to [thing that is cringe] except I ROAST them!”.
It is truly so, so disgusting that cringe culture isn’t dead. Genuinely. I genuinely think it is the laziest form of content. It’s mean, and pathetic and honestly, what’s the point of it?
It’s not funny, it’s not insightful, it’s not kind, it’s just mean and quick.
Who do you think you’re helping?
#cringe culture#fandom culture#long post#cringe culture tw#tw selfhate#tw kys joke#cringe culture is stupid#cringe culture is lazy#oh I didn’t discuss it but#cringe culture is ableist#cringe culture is bullying#seriously what’s the point#be better

I had a weekend where I didn’t know what to do, so I made a makeup test for @doberart’s version of Henry from Bendy and the Ink Machine.
I have no idea how makeup works, but it was still fun and I want to improve my “skills” at some point.

Tutoriel Bendy Props (Part 2 )
Hello and welcome ( back ) onto this ongoing series of BATIM props tutorial. Today, we’ll make the radio ! And a working one.
This time, Orion was a big helper. He deisgned the patterns, took all the measurements and worked out a way for that radio to swing !
This tutorial will only cover the radio because the process is kinda different from the other props ( that you can find here ), we took extra time and care because we DO wanna listen to Sammy Jam on loop. Best OST, can’t change my mind.
So, you’ll need :
EVA Foam, 5, 7 and 10mm ( or you can use cardboard. Like really, don’t feel pressured into buying those pricey materials if it’s JUST for the radio. Go ham on empty amazon packages and have fun. )
Foam Clay & Kwik Seal, those two are to buy only if you’re using EVA foam. They’re meant to seal the irregularities in foam.
Contact Cement & Hot Glue. Same here, Contact Cement is hardcore glue and isn’t that useful for cardboard, so use Hot Glue instead ! If you use extra-strong glue ( the ones in tiny packages ), be really careful not to put any on your skin ( it burns like hell ).
Yellow Ochre & Black acrylic paint
Cutter & Rotary Tool
little pieces of wood ( like lollipop sticks. )
Snap buttons
Strap ( anything from a rigid piece of cloth to leather is good for what we’re doing here. )
Hinge ( take it from a small box you don’t use anymore. oh, and maybe a screwdriver. )
a mini speaker ! the only thing you’re supposed to buy for the craft. Purchase the cheapest speaker you can find, since low quality speakers perfectly replicate the “no bass” feel of old radios. :)
If you’re looking for the cosplay materials we talked about, visit CosplayShop ( especially if you’re from Europe since they’re Belgian ), but don’t forget, you can use cardboard !
Step 1 : The pattern
The first thing to do is figuring out the pattern. If you already have your Bluetooth speaker, take it in account for the overall size of the radio.
You don’t need to understand all that complicated stuff, Orion figured it out for you.
Sorry for the shaky hand, I did it with my PC’s trackpad.
Step 2 : Cut the foam around your pattern.
The face and back sides will be cut in 0,7mm EVA Foam ( High Density ) ; then you cut the grill cloth in thinner foam, or using a real cloth. It’s important that part stays thin, for the sound to come out of it.
Above, you also have the pattern for the relief, that I also cut in 0,5mm Foam. Use a cutter for this !
The buttons are just two cylinders. Since they don’t need to be working, they’re pretty simple to make. Just make sure you don’t use a material that’s too thick, else it’ll be hard to bend.
The depth of the radio is just a 10cm wide piece of material, cut to the right size, that’ll vary with the perimeter of your own radio : don’t bother with the calculus, just test and cut a bit more each time until you got the right size.
After everything is cut nicely, you have to glue it with hot glue or contact cement. For perfect seams, I recommend you sand it gently before filling the holes with Foam Clay or Kwik Seal.
Now that your radio is in 3D, you have to make the base ! Use rigid, thicker foam / cardboard, or double it and stick it together. There should be around a centimetre between the edge of the base and the edge of the radio.
Now, don’t glue it if you wanna have access to the speaker inside. Screw and / or glue the hinge in order to open it. Place the hinge on the back side of the radio.
Now, the inside of the radio ! You gotta put a strap to stitch the speaker in place : we used a piece of leather but anything will do. To make it sit nicely, you can build a base to put it on. We built ours with both small pieces of wood and foam, because foam is easier to glue on foam than wood.
Now, it’s painting time ! This step is explained in the first part of these tutorials, but I’m sure you can figure it out with reference pictures !
Ta-da !
We personally use this radio as a prop when roleplaying to develop our Alternate Universe, Eclipse Studios ! By the way, we’re working on a new comic I think people will love…
Don’t forget to ask me if you need help for your own props, since I keep all my patterns and techniques.
I hope you enjoyed this post and this technic radio, and I’ll tell you soon about Eclipse Studios !

idk circumstances beyond my control have led me to being home today (and *only* today damn it). But I suppose I'll use this time to write myself some notes about my bendy!au I have going on tiktok (and that I intend to update?)
Why OVERWORKED? - pure self indulgence! I did a couple of creepy tiktoks and maybe 2 people thought they were awesome enough to comment praise on - but I think I've always wanted to make something like it. My earliest efforts on tiktok *were* a sort of fan exploration of studio original characters but I have...semi better props?
I tried something like this with fnaf (and depending on how this works I'm gonna go back to it) but it's basically a snippet of some of my favorite things in a little fan project. Just...sans acting (perhaps?) . I can't really manage acting for these guys since because while I'm trans I haven't transitioned yet.
So while it's a technical skill issue it's also a nerves issue. I can handle critique of performances to music and stuff That's not mine - but my skin's not thick enough to expose my own acting skills without a lot of safety no matter how much I like the story.
Also, I mostly cosplay Henry (he's my most popular character) but I wanted to deliver something besides Henry or William Afton (not new content in cosplay at allll) so I did a sort of pre-game Sammy and people liked pieces of him and thus...
WHAT'S IT ABOUT? -
'Overworked' is the story of 3 people, 2 of whom join the growing # of missing individuals at JDS taking place between Buddy's investigations in DCTL. In essence, it's the story of some of the people who go missing *before* the theater incident and Sammy disappears completely but *after* Buddy lets the demon out.
(Buddy himself acknowledges that there are weeks wherein people realize that Sammy's missing and that he doesn't notice an animator he worked with was missing at all.)
It surrounds a never finished cartoon short about Christmas with Bendy as Krampus, Alice as Mrs. Claus, and Boris as Santa/a reindeer/an elf.
If you were to investigate *why* you would find out that big chunks of the staff vanished including the director who regularly butted heads with the music department's director...but then Sammy disappeared and this is early depression New York City so...who'd miss them?
WHAT INSPIRED THIS? -
First - this documentary put out by TWDC about the process behind snow white. (My favorite part is the positive assurance that the ink and paint department's girls are all 'pretty' and that they are in an *air conditioned building all their own* because the misogyny of Hollywood back then was something else.
(I could go on and on about this topic and the sheer hypocrisy since Walt met Lillian Disney in *his* ink and paint department and apparently didn't want his 'boys' tempted apparently by all the pretty girls so he had them all in a building the male animators jokingly called 'the nunnery' but.)
Anyway. Here's the piece. It's about 8 minutes.
youtube
In it is described the process of animation and how gags have to be timed *very specifically* to various shots with music. I think the average Disney output was something like 2-3 shorts at a time before he moved focus to features prior to the strike in 1941 (which also plays a part in this.)
Given the sheer size of the studio and how every character describes being 'overworked' with Sammy's log describing 4 cartoons at once needing 'a tune by tomorrow' even if he was being hyperbolic- making animation is an intense process. Unless he has other directors or would let other directors work (unlikely) the man most likely worked in depth with teams of at least 20 people all at once including his own department which is at a time 80 people with unique projects. All of which required unique brainpower and creativity.
Henry talks about how Joey has only ideas, Sammy says he has poor planning. I speculate that in BATIM canon Joey picks people who are immensely talented (facts)- but he has/had a very tenuous grasp of what it actually takes to produce an animated cartoon.
Especially when reality at the time had most animation as part 'magic' part science. Most of the technology developed (sound, color) was put into mainstream use by Disney with his animators and sound men part creatives part scientists.
So you have a guy who had his best friend/crush/object of obsession who was the technical brains behind your outfit leave...my man was flying by the seat of his underwear.
And people suffered for it.
Overworked deals with an animation director who was trained at another studio and raised with a very firm idea of what it takes to make art, a music director losing his mind, and a member of the music department trying to process just what that means.
Basically the music department at this point:
youtube
WHAT KIND OF TECHNICAL SPECS ARE YOU USING? -
A ringlight, basic makeup skills (so basic) some writing, tiktok clips and -
Stay Tuned for part 2! And remember you can find the list of parts so far

My cosplay for Katsucon 2019 of Henry Stein from Bendy and the Ink Machine!!!
i’m SUPER proud of how this turned out even if not a lot of people recognized me and loved being Henry for the day :D i’m SUPER exhausted now though lmaooo (the ink gloves and pants are pretty tight on me and my belt kept slipping down and fell apart when going home hhh)
Either way, this cosplay is definitely one of the best I've done so far and i’m very happy with it~!
