Jazz is Damian's bio sibling, not Danny
I see tons of Demon Twin AUs, and I love them, but I started to wonder about what the universe would look like if Jazz was Damian's sister.
Not sure what her birth name in this AU would be (Yasmin? Yasmina? Something else) so I'm going to just refer to her as Jazz.
I'm thinking that Jazz was attempt #1 at getting the perfect heir, and for whatever reason, she was deemed to be inferior. Is there something actually wrong with her? No, but Ra's is an asshole. If you'd like to go a more sexist route, Jazz could be unworthy because she's female (in this AU, Ra's keeps Talia around to make an heir, not to be the heir).
Despite not being the perfect child they wanted, Talia and Ra's train Jazz until they are able to try again. She's taught as if she was the heir, even though everyone knows she isn't, because there isn't a better choice at the moment.
When Jazz is three, Damian is born. Damian is her little brother and she loves him as best she can, but Damian is raised to treat her as inferior, and it shows. Everyone looks down on her, especially Ra's, and that attitude is the example Damian follows.
Jazz is still trained, because if nothing else she could still be an assassin, but no one holds out much hope for her. She isn't as talented as Damian, even though she's older. She's not as strong or as stealthy or as cutthroat. She is more clever, but she is older than him, so it's brushed off. Besides, good assassin soldiers don't need to be clever, they just need to obey.
But where Damian excels in the physical arts, Jazz excels at the mind arts. Solving puzzles, recognizing patterns, psychoanalyzing her opponents to predict their moves - that's what she's good at. It's clearly inherited from Batman (no one can explain her red hair, though).
When Jazz is eight and Damien is five, Jazz flees the League. Why and how is your choice. Maybe Damian is supposed to kill her in a show of superiority. Maybe Talia helps her fake her death and escape as a final act of motherly love. Maybe Jazz flees on her own, wanting to be something else even if she doesn't know what.
Jazz makes it to America, and then to a little podunk town in the middle of nowhere, Illinois, called Amity Park. She meets the Fenton parents and their almost six-year-old son, Danny. And somehow, they take her in. And for a while, it's the family she wished she had, with loving parents and a little brother who didn't want to stab her.
Danny isn't Damian. He isn't a replacement. She knows that they aren't the same. They are radically different, even if they both make her want to cuddle and love them (at least Danny doesn't try to stab her for doing it). She can miss Damian and what could have been while embracing what she has found.
And for a while, she's happy.
Sure, she didn't expect her little brother (Danny is her Little Brother, Damian is her Baby Brother, there has been and will always be a difference to her) to die and come back, but she's seen weirder stuff when she was in the League.
She also didn't expect Danny to use his newfound powers to become a hero, but it's his choice, and she's going to support him. At least she has her League training to fall back on, even if she's a bit rusty.
And yeah, she was hoping that her adoptive parents would take Danny's halfa status a lot better than they did, but she'd always known it wasn't going to end well. She's always been good at recognizing behavioral patterns, and theirs said nothing good. But she'd hoped, for Danny's sake, that she would be wrong.
She never thought she would flee for her life for a second time, but here she is, driving a stolen car with her unconscious and bleeding brother in the backseat, heading towards the one place she swore she would never set foot in: Gotham.

He's my clockwork appointed babysitter, not dad.
They failed, even they managed to beat all the cultist in time. The ritual was still completed. The leader was laughing like a maniac until Hood hit him hard with the butt of his gun, knocking the guy out cold finally. With held breaths, they watched how smoke rose from the ritual circle higher and higher until it started to form a black shadow with stars as eyes and too many teeth and limps. Batman was on his way with Constantine. Maybe they could at least contain whatever that was until they arrived.
"Who in the name of all good and holy dared to summon me?!" A static scratchy voice echoed in their ears.
No one dared to answer at first but of course Red I-fear-nothing Hood had to open his mouth earning him death glares from his siblings. "Aren't you like a demon? Why would you mention anything good and holy?"
That think was blinking at them and Tim did a double take when that think moved its many limps like it was rubbing the back of its neck.
"In the name of all bad and cursed then?" It sounded unsure still a booming echo like voice but unsure. They shared a look. Dick opened his mouth, ready to say something when suddenly a familiar voice shouted from behind them.
"Cut the crap kid! They are the Batsie and his birds belong to the good!"
They turned to see Constantine marching in with Batman right behind him. The man was throwing the but of his cigarette way as he went right up to that demon. Which apparently was not one because right as the Brite was up to it a puff of greenish some blocked their view for a moment before a white haired child stood where the demon had been seconds ago.
"The hell you doing out here kid. I told you to stay at home."
"You try resisting a summon when your all new to the fact that you can get summoned!"
"Your going to make my hair gray faster, you little chaos gremlin."
"Aw love you too!"
"Uh Constantine?" They had question of of them was that Constantine was apparently familiar with that child, demon, whatever.
"Right." The man lit another cigarette but before he could even take one drag of it he side eyed the child staring up at him before he flicked it to the side. "Bats my demon son, Danny the Bats."
"Demon son?"
"Actually I am-" They watched how Constantine covered the child's, Danny's, mouth with his hand shushing the boy.
"What did I tell you about interdimensional secrets? That's right, do not talk about them to just anyone. We are not repeating the Green Lantern incident."
Should they feel offended? It felt like they should. They weren't just anyone.
"Constantine." Batman gruffly warned, but the man held up one hand towards them. Batman was definitely offended that Green Lantern got to learn something he wasn't getting to know on Constantine's watch.
"One moment Batsie. I need to- did you gremlin just lick my hand?!"
The moment Constantine removed his hand the child stuck his tongue out at the JL Dark member and made a break for it to hide behind Batman.
"Get back here you little..."
"No! I am always stuck at home, and you promised me I would get to see the watchtower at last month!"
Batman blocked Constantine from getting to who was apparently the man's demon son. Staring at the man as the boy grinned in triumph.
"Mate get out of the way, this kid needs to get grounded again."
"For what?"
"Being a chaos gremlin that won't listen."
The rest of the batfam had only one burning question on their mind. "Which demon was willing enough to have a child with Constantine?"
Well, except for Tim who had caught the little tidbit of interdimensional secret and was wondering who Danny really was.

So we know that both Jason and Danny have to be good or at the very least decent enough actors to get the lead roles right?
Just imagine the Wayne family’s reaction to Jason’s acting and almost having a heart attack every time he’s in his psychotic JD behavior. At first it’s all like “wtf is Jay doing onstage??” and “oh i am so blackmailing him for this” and they do but the whirlpool of emotions Jason puts them through is almost not worth it. But they’re Wayne’s so they just blackmail him even harder for it.
When Jason is singing Freeze Your Brain, he doesn’t really get into the song until the chorus. He gets even more passionate the moment Danny steps on stage which makes the show all the more mesmerizing. Batfam thinks this is Jason’s cry for help. Jay is just excited to sing with Danny. Like yah the lyrics are kind of relatable but Danny is right there and looks oh so very attractive in that skirt.
Danny and Jason were both nervous about Dead Girl Walking. Which is normal considering they don’t know each other. But then they start doing rehearsals and Danny looks at Jason like no one else matters and it quickly became Jason’s favorite song.
Logically the Wayne‘s know the gun Jason pulls out during Our Love Is God is fake but holy fuck the mini panic attack they had when they saw the gun is absolute gold. Not that anyone noticed but we know and that’s what matters.
At this point the Wayne’s start forgetting this is a show and truly believe Jason and Danny are in love during Seventeen. Who knows how long they’ve been rehearsing for this show. It’s not impossible to think Jason started and hid a relationship from them.
Duke and Barbara themselves never bothered looking into the cast or how they interacted with Jason. They just made sure he wasn’t caught so everything would go as planned. And while Duke and Danny are friends, Danny can keep a secret when he wants to, Duke knows this better than anyone.
Meant To Be Yours, Dead Girl Walking (Reprise), and I Am Damaged thoroughly convince the Gothamites attending the show that Jason and Danny will become the next rogue couple to debut. Jason and Danny are putting so much emotion into this show people are starting to believe they aren’t acting anymore.
The Wayne’s honest to god think Jason’s being influenced by the pit during these songs. Jason acting like JD gave everyone anxiety. They kept tensing and relaxing the entire show but these three songs were on another level. They wanted him to find a hobby (and they love that he found one) but why did he have to choose this musical.
That being said, Danny really shouldn’t be attracted to Jason while he’s singing about their toxic love and killing an entire high school population. Or while he’s counting down and banging on the door. Especially not while he’s counting down and banging on the door. He’s just glad he blushes in green making it look like he wants to puke instead of get railed against the door.
The show ends and the Wayne’s don’t know what to do. It’s all awkward and shit until Jason sees them and freezes up making the tension worse. Danny (who simply chooses to ignore the tension) starts laughing that’s quickly followed by Duke’s and Barbara’s. Jason looks at Danny in betrayal making Danny laugh even harder. The Wayne siblings (plus Steph) immediately start teasing Jason about his performance.
They still think Jason should see a therapist asap but they already knew that, that’s old news. Jason being a theater kid and performing the one character who shares his name, happens to prefer guns as his main weapon, and then dies in an explosion, is not.
Jason doesn’t know why he did it.
Maybe it was because of the alcohol in his system or maybe it was his subconscious still being salty about his family’s comments about him not having many hobbies.
He reads!
What’s wrong with reading!?
Sure, it was mainly about work now a days but that’s besides the point!
Apparently it wasn’t good enough to be counted as a ‘hobby’ by the others.
So when he was walking back from a bar on his night off and got hit in the face with flyer about auditions for the local theater group Mixed up Manhattan he stuffed it in his pocket and said “fuck it”.
Needless to say he was mildly confused when he woke up the next day to a call back for JD from Heathers the musical.
He was more confused when he found out his “Veronica” was being played by a dude.
Turns out Mixed up Manhattan was a group who did not care about gender as long as you could bring a character to life.
Now he was in too deep to back out, if he was going to act out a scene with someone. Than he was going to put his whole dick and balls into it.
It was only fair for “Veronica” after all.
~~~~~
Danny was slightly surprised when he went back to callbacks and saw Drunk Dude in the group.
Danny found him silly and charming in the waiting room the other night but he was clearly intoxicated when he auditioned. Danny thought that the chances of seeing him again was very slim.
But there he was, looking a little bit out of his comfort zone.
Did he even remember auditioning?
As they were called up for a scene he flashed the other a smile and felt his core loosen with the other guy’s shoulders.
Turns out, Jason had some good singing chops.
~~~~~~~~
Jason Todd lands a lead in a musical.
The musical about death and sex.
His family must never know.
The second one of them finds out his life is over again.
They will go out of there way to embarrass Jason in front of Danny and there will go the whole dark and mysterious thing he has been trying to do.

So I have a concept rattling in my brain a concept to be ignored or not
Just 15 year old globe Trotter Danni being accompanied by her twin 15 year old reluctant globe Trotter Danny who together got the amity ghost infestation cleared up together and went on the run because two halfas will get hunted by the government and the Fenton parents.
So Danny and Danni run off to Gotham because it's far away from home and easy to hide in while there they befriend any of the bat boys.
I like to think tim Drake would just kinda want friends and the homeless twins are good age appropriate friends to have!
Dick grayson would probably not get the chance to talk often but would appreciate the time he did get to interact with them.
Idk why but I feel like if Bruce was the first to meet Danny and Danni he would be their age and tame them like street cats before snatching them off the street and whisking them away to Wayne Mannor to a extremely exasperated Alfred.
If Alfred met the twins first it would be very " you sure that you don't want to eat dinner with my family and have a bed to sleep in? " because Alfred would be an adult who doesn't want children on the streets.
Danny and Ellie would probably be just some street kids Jason interacts with because he has a soft spot for street kids.
Damian takes after his father in picking up sad little meow meows off the street and would also tame the street children like cats and take them home to a extremely exasperated Alfred and Bruce.
I'm not familiar enough with the rest of the batfam to think of interactions
Jason would 100% just look at those poor kids and be like: mmmmmmm mine now
And he just, doesn't tell Bruce and has them lodged in a safe house until one of his siblings inevitably crashes the place for whatever reason and discovers that the Wayne family trend of adopting black haired blue eyed children off the street is still running strong. And jason has to beg for the secret to be kept. Bonus points if Jason knows Danny and Dani are half ghosts bc Lazarus vibes and actively tries to stop anyone from figuring them out.
If Damian finds them it's like taking in strays, feed them till they trust you and then just randomly take them home one day.
He gets them comfortable with him, he sees the green eyes, questions the ruthlessly until they spill their guts, brings them food, and just one day they wake up in Wayne manor. Poof. Bruce had no idea about this, nor does anyone, but now he has two new children?
But I think Tim would be funny, maybe he runs into them while sleep deprived and thinks he's seeing double from the hallucinations or some shit.
Danny and Ellie just sitting on a park bench getting gradually more and more uncomfortable as some kid their age who looks stupid familiar stares at them with the intensity of a thousand suns. And they're panicking, thinking maybe they've been found out or he can just tell they're not normal when in reality he's just trying to figure out if he actually should sleep soon (the answers yes, the answers always yes).

it’s that time of year yet again folks! time for me to round up the lot of everything i wrote this year and throw it at you all like a proud parent! this year i managed to publish 217,613 words across 22 fics, with an untold number more unpublished (some of which belong to an original novel i started at the beginning of the year, and an autobiography i dipped my toes into as well!) let’s dive in!
(a ** denotes some personal favorites!)
DC FICS:
Time And Again (28303 words) [batfam, bg dickwally, jayroy, superbat]:
Dick Grayson comes to live with Bruce Wayne on a Tuesday afternoon when he’s nine years old. It’s a Tuesday like any other, so Bruce settles the boy in and leaves him in Alfred’s capable hands after dinner and heads out for patrol. Gotham’s underworld does not take a day off, and therefore Batman cannot either. Dick awakes in the middle of the night and Bruce isn’t there. Alfred calms Dick down and sits with him and assures him that Bruce would have been there if he could and Dick believes him. Alfred's words can only maintain that belief for so long. Or, the one where Bruce doesn't tell Dick that he's Batman at first and things spiral out of control until people start communicating like adults.
Gold-Plated (1279 words) [batfam]:
It starts like this. Dick follows Jason into the cave, shouting at his brother’s back, while Jason roughly tugs at the release for his helmet. “I mean, I know you’re not going to stop dealing with all of your problems by shooting at them, but could you at least have the decency to not do that while I’m around? Could you at least pretend you still follow some sort of-” “Shut up!” Jason roars, whipping around to hurl his helmet at Dick’s head.
**Every Fiber of My Being (21376 words) [dickwally, batfam, bg timkon]:
As much as Dick and his siblings have argued, Bruce has never budged on his "Keeping Secrets Policy". There's not a person alive outside of the family that knows the secret identity of any of the Bats. Not even Dick's boyfriend. Dick understands the need for some secrets, knows that keeping their identities safe keeps them and their loved ones safe, but when he takes up the cowl, team dynamics aren't the only things that begin to change.
Tremble, Tremor, Shake (2118 words) [batfam]:
Tim doesn’t answer. He lurches like he’s going to go for the toilet again, but he doesn’t quite make it, instead dry heaving once, twice and then slumping against the wall again. Dick thinks that’s the end of it. He’s wrong. Tim slumps against the wall and immediately starts seizing.
**My Brain Occasionally Malfunctions (2243 words) [batfam]:
Dick was shot in the head. Such a serious injury is not without consequence. In which Dick's gunshot wound causes him to develop epilepsy and Jason has some thoughts on the fact that Dick tried to hide it from them.
Teenagers (1280 words) [dickwally]:
Dick and Wally have just found out that their twins have abilities and Damian's been training the twins behind their backs. Looks like everyone's revealing a secret tonight.
**Sign Your Life Away (23927 words)[timkon, batfam, bg dickwally, batcat, clois]:
The Wayne family is a good one, well known, well off, charitable, likable, politically unaffiliated. So when a treaty with Krypton is hinging on an arranged marriage, the Wayne boys are some of the first they approach. Tim is very, very aware that the name right underneath 'Wayne' on the UN's list is 'Luthor'. He can't allow some poor stranger to be forcibly bound to Luthor for the rest of their lives. So when they ask him, he says yes, before he can stop to think if this is actually a good idea.
MARVEL FICS:
**Project: Light (54526 words) [stucky]:
When Steve and Sam finally track down the Winter Soldier, the last thing they’re expecting is to find Bucky with a girl who’s calling him ‘Dad’. Steve doesn’t quite know how to handle that. The others know how to handle it only marginally better. Or, how to win over children and influence monsters: how Bucky’s surprise daughter helps the Avengers help Bucky find himself again, and how he finds Steve again along the way.
Always So Certain You're Fine (2252 words) [gen]:
They're grieving, sure, but they have a war to win, still, and by some miracle, they do it. Or, the Infinity War fix-it that no one asked for.
Suffer in Silence (6416 words) [thundershield]:
Five times Steve Rogers was in pain, and one time he finally wasn't.
**A Hero, Like Spiderman and Better Hawkeye (4286 words) [gen]:
If pressed to answer how he’d gotten to the top of the Avengers’ list of preferred babysitters/dog watchers, Peter’s not too sure he’d know what to say. In which MJ, Ned and Kate Bishop get roped into helping Peter babysit/dog watch, and things spiral wildly out of hand in a Starbucks.
Unexpecting (1893 words) [thruce, valsif]:
When they find themselves largely alone on Earth, tasked with preserving Asgard’s history and her people and working with Earth’s governments to settle political issues, and it seems like battle in another form, Thor and Brunnhilde find themselves seeking comfort in each other. It is harmless, (mostly) innocent fun, until they find themselves staring down at a little indicator, telling them that Brunnhilde is pregnant. In which Thor, Brunnhilde, Bruce and Sif raise a child together, and grow a little themselves in the process.
**What the Desert Will Let Him (5471 words) [samsteve]:
There’s an itch at the back of Sam's mind, that tells him to stay in DC and he thinks maybe this has something to do with The Voice and why he was thrown ass over tea kettle back into this world when he desperately didn't want to come back. In which Sam dies with his wing-man, but something sends him back to live out the rest of his life, because he's not done. There are people who need him, even if he doesn't know it yet.
**Wake Up Calls (4379 words) [gen, bg stucky]:
Bucky Barnes wakes up in Wakanda, the first time, and the second, and the third and fourth and twenty-eighth and sixty-first... Shuri starts out as an ally, and becomes a friend, and then might as well be his kid sister. Bucky and Shuri's relationship told through a few wake-up calls.
Dead Men Walking (16629 words) [gen]:
They don't always show it, but they've each got their own demons to battle. Peter keeps happening upon these battles. OR a bunch of times that Peter was there for the Avengers in a moment of need, and one time they were all there for him.
LGBTQIA(vengers) (3656 words) [stucky, natpepper]:
Steve Rogers comes out on a Tuesday afternoon. By Wednesday morning, it's hit every major news outlet. Twitter has some opinions, and Pepper Potts is taking no prisoners.
**Impact (6087 words) [winterhawk]:
Clint Barton is not born with wings. He is not a mutant, though he doubts that would have helped his case. He is an ordinary boy, until he, one day, is very suddenly not. Or: the wingfic nobody asked for, in which Clint's wings have brought him nothing but trouble until one day, they suddenly don't.
Perfect Men and Other Crimes (2069 words) [stucky]:
Bucky Barnes knows that he is lucky. He still cannot help but feel decidedly unlucky when he hears the New York Police Department’s new policy on partnering regular cops with enhanced ones. Bucky doesn’t have anything against enhanced individuals. He really doesn’t. But he is still profoundly uncomfortable around people who could snap him like a twig. Detective Steven Grant Rogers is exactly that.
Same Monster (2610 words) [gen, bg thruce]:
After returning to Earth, Bruce goes to visit his cousin when a case brings her to New York City. It doesn't go as planned. Or, the one where Jennifer Walters becomes She-Hulk, Bruce feels guilty, and Thor is a good boyfriend.
HAWAII FIVE-0 FICS
Can't Help DNA (5146 words) [mcdanno]:
The first time that Steve McGarrett and Danny Williams meet, Danny Williams is not holding a weapon. He has his hands in fists and Steve’s skin is singing in that way it does whenever he’s around someone else with the SuperGene. Steve, for his part, is pointing a gun at Danny’s chest and screaming at him which probably isn’t helping the situation, but he’s not going to admit that. He’s shouting, and then Williams is shouting and they eventually get their IDs out without Steve shooting anyone and without Danny’s Gene flaring up. It’s a win in Steve’s book.
Situational Awareness (6461 words) [mcdanno]:
Steve McGarrett has a soulmark from the moment he’s born. He has a mark that his dad covers up when he’s a baby, an ugly black thing in the shape of knuckles splayed across his cheekbone. Danny Williams gets his mark a few months after he’s born. There’s a black smear across the back of his hand and down two fingers and Danny dreams of the day his soulmate will touch him for the first time and set the mark alight with color. Steve McGarrett grows up hating his soulmark, Danny Williams dreams of the day he'll meet his soulmate. Somehow, against all odds, they find each other.
Things Unseen (15206 words) [mcdanno, bg konocat]:
Steve's known almost his whole life that his anchor was going to be one of the Kelly-Kalakaua family, the only ones strong enough to tie him to the Seen when he needed to talk to a spirit. What he did not know was how important a cop from Jersey who doesn't believe in ghosts would end up being. In which Steve and Kono are peak mlm/wlw solidarity, Danny is a wreck, Chin is tired and there are some ghosts.
