Does Pranayam really work? What is the science behind Pranayama?

Let’s understand the meaning of the word Pranayama first. “Prana” means energy, whereas “Yama” means control. And collectively, it means control over the energy. Pranayam is nothing but a technique of breath regulation.

Feeling good
After the last time I did Pranayama, I was unable to do anything for the last 2 days. The sense of head ache spoiled my interest to do it again.
Today, I prayed Paramahama Yogananda and his Guru Yuketheshwar to do what I want to do everyday in the morning.
I got up @ 5:30. I thought that I should do at least Pranayama. I prayed Paramhamsa Yogananda and his Guru to give me the energy and motivation to do it.
1. I did energization exercise which usually uplifts my spirit. (39 exercises).
2. I did 25 minute Yoga including Chakrasana and Sirasana.
3. I did Pranayama for 22 minutes. Reduced Bastrika and Kapalbhati to 2 minutes.
4. I did Meditation for probably 15 minutes.
I feel good. I hope I can do it tommorrow too. I just need the strength to do it. Inner demons are the most toughest enemies than real world. I’m fighting everyday.
