Okay, so one of the common recurring motifs of the various Ace Attorney OST Covers is Orchestra AUs

And, like, all of these artworks are Official, but obviously they’re not Canon, y’know? Phoenix Wright doesn’t know how to play the Violin and the drum and conduct an orchestra. They’re just trying to convey the idea of ‘Ace Attorney and also music’. The instruments are based on, like, characterization and Vibes but not necessarily canonity.

And Miles does actually play the flute in canon! 

(Also, I always thought it was interesting that he mentions both the flute and piano as instruments he plays in the present tense. But whenever it’s specifically about what he played as a child, only the flute is mentioned. My Headcanon has always been that the piano is something he started learning later in life under Manfred Von Karma’s tutelage.)

And since Franziska isn't actually conducting but instead whipping people... she's technically also canon compliant???

So… maybe from this little detail we can infer that the art on this specific cover is actually consistent with the instruments these characters play in canon??

He was gifted the hat by his mom. It’s a permanent part of him with how much he’s worn it.

He gets it, and won’t say anything about it, but he hates it when he regarded as just the scary “tv” head guy. He’s much more than a pretty screen, people!

The pants are custom made and he has like 20 pairs. He also has several pairs of his shirt and vest.

Will change the second there’s a spot on his clothes. He needs to remain as pristine as possible.

If he wasn’t a workoholic, he’d beat all the moms at candy crush. He’d try to be a literal god at candy crush, and would honestly buy extra lives if he was furious with how the match went and he ran out.

Plays computer solitaire to distract himself when the ratings aren’t good or he needs a mental reset.

Adding to these two, since he has computer elements in his brain (probably), he can probably predict where the game is going to go. The older the console, the easier it is.

He’d be a god at minesweeper.

Does not and will not swear no matter how bad it gets.

If he goes to a concert, he’ll just be doing the equivalent of maladaptive daydreaming the whole time, planning out shows and movies for the songs

Loves the orchestra. He loves movie scores and would totally go to those events where there’s an orchestra playing the soundtrack live as the movie plays.

He’ll whine about not having friends or being able to talk to people but he will refuse to talk to anyone in public, going so far as to mute anyone who tries speaking with him. If he’s at an event and someone tries sparking a conversation with him, he’ll look away awkwardly and reply with “uh huh, yep, oh wow,” and so on until they leave. In a relationship, you could introduce him to people but he’s still be the same unless you were apart of the conversation.

Loves movie/show trivia but it’s a double-edge sword. If you take him on a date to a bar for movie trivia night, he’ll have fun and get everything right (and infodump a lot) but a question will pop up and the official answer will be wrong and Mr. Puzzles will just go ballistic.

Canonically has hammer-space abilities in the shows and can pull out anything he needs. Need a first-aid kit? Got it right here. Emergency costume? Has your size in multiple colours to choose. Someone pissed you off? Just say when and he’ll have something ready.

He doesn’t have proper heating in the studio(since he doesn’t need it) and the place is freezing when there’s the slightest breeze outside.

He uses different colognes and even used febreze a few times to smell his best, but he perpetually smells like cigarettes

He kins spongebob.

Technically canon but he’s an entrepreneur, and has multiple businesses (a tech company based on the keyboard from it’s gotta be perfect, selling the showgrounds). He also phrases puzzlevision as his “latest business venture,” in the movie’s teaser. He bounced between different businessed to earn enough money to buy the studio and the equipment he’d need.

With that being said, he’s unintentionally a con artist. Though he tries to have a somewhat clean business, he cuts corners often to get the products out sooner or doesn’t perform proper safety protocol. He doesn’t really care, though, as his main goal was and is Puzzlevision. He pretty much stopped the second he found the smg4 crew.

Terrible at art. He tries, but not even you can hold back your laugh if you see his art.

If he hasn’t slept for a while his voice is warped and a little glitched.

I forgot if I already posted this but his underpants are so those heart boxers but instead of hearts they’re stars.

So real quick, I just wanted to say that ONE OF MY HEADCANONS HAS BE CONFIRMED LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! It is now confirmed that Mr. Puzzles CAN speak multiple languages, but still needs subtitles. God, I love being right /j

Fr tho, it’s really awesome having him back so soon. Maybe a little early, but I’m not complaining lol. Ayumi Hamasaki: Moments (2004.03.31)

Ayumi Hamasaki's Moments was the beginning of what the industry and now the lay public refer to as a new "era." The single followed the release of Ayu's first mini-album, a collection of eight songs released at the end of 2003 that compiled her last three singles (including the tripe A-side &, No way to say, and forgiveness), along with four new songs, of which all but one received an accompanying music video (that would be the closing, and fan favorite, title track "Memorial address (take 2 version)," which is considered something of a bonus track.

Her next album would be released almost one year later, and to kick start the promotions, she released the elegant "Moments," a sort of melancholy spring ballad similar to previous ballads like "No way to say" and "HANABI ~episode II~." In hindsight, this was an ominous choice -- ominous as in thick with omens, not inauspicious or threatening -- because it succinctly foretold the musical language of its resulting album, MY STORY (think "walking proud" and "HAPPY ENDING"). It has a steady pace, but it never lacks for punch in the chorus, and like the return to spring itself, it's cyclical, always shifting back to that slower pace again and again. This is another in a running series of "seasonal" singles that Ayumi, like the rest of J-pop, indulged in, but which took on a particular significance here with the two follow-ups: the summery "INSPIRE" and wintry "CAROLS." This sets up MY STORY as a deliberate year-long diary that uses the seasons as a foundational base. And "Moments" is where it all starts, with its symbolic invocation of new life and rebirth in the flowers and bright greens of the cover art. The music video, too, features a literal room full of technicolor flowers, an almost blinding bubblegum-pink field of blooms among which children play. In classic Ayu PV fashion, it takes on a sinister feel, but never gets scary or ugly, instead depicting an uncanny kind of wonder.

In March of 2004, we were well beyond the point of maxi-singles that featured a dozen remixes of the title track, but we do get two remixes on this single: a beautiful acoustic piano version that invoked the Acoustic Orchestra series of remix albums, as well as a mostly forgettable dance remix by CMJK titled the "Flying humanoid Mix." I'm disappointed by this remix, as CMJK usually produces some great stuff, like the "Ocean View Remix" of "Far away" as well as the extended mix of "opening run" on the Daybreak single. Ayumi's vocals sound great on this track so the acoustic piano version, which trades all of the pomp of the original for simple piano and some strings, sounds fantastic.

This was the first Ayu single to be released in both a regular CD-only version, and a CD+DVD version that included the music video. The latter required an extra $8 for the DVD of the music video which can now be found on Ayu's official YouTube channel for free. The cover art was also the same for both versions of this, something that wouldn't change for three more singles until 2005's fairyland. The CD comes with an OBI and a booklet that features lyrics and song credits, as well as a promotional leaflet.

On the morning of 24 July 1914, Grand Duke Kirill Vladimirovich and his wife, Grand Duchess Victoria Feodorovna, stepped off a train in Tartu. The Grand Duke, a cousin of Tzar Nikolai II, was the honorary president of the Baltic Automobile- and Aero-Club, and it was the first day of the Großfürstin-Viktoriafahrt, an annual automobile race named after the Grand Duchess. Roughly 30 cars were attending the race, all occupied by people of high rank and standing, including Nikolai Svegintsov, the Governor of Livonia,1 where the race was to take place. The group first raced to Alatskivi, roughly 40 km northeast of Tartu, where baron Heinrich Reinhold von Nolcken treated the visitors to a breakfast and an excursion in his grandiose manor. They then raced back to Tartu, where they were received by the city's mayor with the local fire brigade orchestra, tea, champagne, and the theatre capella. The group then proceeded to the Raadi manor on the city's edge, where the owner Reinhold Karl von Liphart presented his extensive art collection, followed by a festive dinner, a ball, and fireworks. During the next six days, the automobilists drove more than a thousand kilometres through Livonia in a largely similar manner – a race to a manor where a friendly owner treats the visitors to a breakfast and a tour, followed by a race to the next location with a few stops along the way, concluded by a festive dinner with dancing and fireworks in the evening.2 The joyride-like race had taken a long and careful preparation. Among other things, the roads along the race's route had to be in an automobile-friendly state. For this purpose, the Governor had ordered an extraordinary maintenance of the roads.3 At the time, roads were maintained via a system of corvée – each peasant household, usually consisting of a family and a few farm hands, was obligated to maintain certain strips of roads without pay. Usually, the work was done in the spring and fall, but this time an order to fix the roads came in early summer, a time of intense farm work. Furthermore, the inspection was unusually harsh, and the peasants were ordered to redo the work multiple times in many places.4 On the outskirts of the town of Viljandi, the situation even evolved into a widely reported conflict between the local peasants and baron Werner von Wolff, a local official tasked with inspecting the roads. Having demanded redoing a certain strip of road for the third time, the baron hired private contractors without having waited for the passing of the deadline given to the peasants. The contractors, likely local construction entrepreneurs who were happy to undertake expensive works, fulfilled the wishes of the baron to the letter and charged a huge sum of 2,670 roubles and 20 kopecks,5 which the baron then demanded from the peasants. The peasants, along with Estonian journalists, were outraged – the legality of the actions of the baron was questionable at best.6 However, an auditor from the regional capital Riga had little sympathy for the peasants and sided with the baron, forcing them to pay the ruinous sum.7 On July 30, the very last day of the event, for which likely thousands of peasants had been drafted, the automobilists were enjoying a festive dinner when the news of mobilisation and the state of war reached them. The race was to remain the last one in the Russian Empire.8 A few years later, the Empire, along with the world of large estates, dukes, duchesses and exploitative barons was gone and replaced, in the case of the Governance of Livonia, with democratic nation-states of Estonia and Latvia that stood, to a large extent, most of all for the interests of the peasant population. Yet the road maintenance system, based on feudal economic and social relations, survived almost intact. The road corvée was eventually abolished only in 1959, and even then, certain remnants of it continued until the 1990s. How could a system, long considered obsolete and anti-modern, survive for so long after the economic system which had called it into existence had collapsed?

And if a 16 year old is worried about the ethics of it all, I think we should too. I do think this will take away from illustrators who have had their artwork used in the training process. In terms of moving image makers, I think this is a bit more of a complex but also not too complex idea. Low key I feel like people who want to create these kinds of things have a lack of discipline, a fear of failure and overall reflects this sort of culture where you must be able to have everything. I definitely feel like artists should look into haveibeentrained.com as you can remove your work from the data set.

I don’t think people who make individual work should be too worried - I think if Hollywood bosses love it we should be worried but I don’t know if I’d feel comfortable reading or being at the cinema watching a fake actor. It’s the humanity of it all, that’s why people have favourite actors, singers etc.

There are currently people out there making hours of music within minutes but why should we listen to music like that that has been made into a McDonalds-esque commodity? I don’t think the same people listening or creating this would be the same people attending the shows of the English National Opera, London Contemporary Orchestra of the Philharmonics of the world. This is its own new subculture of people who want to live in the synthetic.

What people do have to be worried about is that the UK Film and TV industry is a very unsustainable career to work in even though its production spend was £4.23 billion over the past year.

Sergio Sorrentino “A Superb Musician” (The Wire)

Sorrentino is acclaimed as “the best concert music electric guitarist” (Il Manifesto) and “one of the most important contemporary guitarists” (RAI Radio Tre).

As a performer he promotes the classical guitar and electric guitar contemporary repertory. As a composer and improviser his music is based on sonic research and combines elements of contemporary classical music, minimalism, avant-garde, ambient, experimental. His CD Dream - American Music for Electric Guitar (Mode Records), which includes works by Feldman, Cage, Wolff, Curran and others, was reviewed and highlighted in the New York Times by Seth Colter Walls as one of the “Week’s Best Classical Music Moments”, defining the album “of disarming beauty”.

Philip Glass published Sergio Sorrentino’s video performance of “Orphée’s Bedroom” and “Opening” on his official channels for the #glassminutes series. Orange Mountain Music released “Orphée’s Bedroom” and “Opening” as Singles on all digital platforms earning a lot of success.

Sergio plays with the great Gavin Bryars (“Sergio Sorrentino has performed many of my works for guitar, and also my ensemble pieces that include the guitar and I have the greatest admiration for his work in this respect”) as a member of the Gavin Bryars Ensemble and he plays live and in studio with Elliott Sharp, Magnus Andersson and John King.

He released a duo album with Gavin Bryars (Gavin Bryars: Electric Guitar Works”), where he plays some world premiere recordings together with the great English composer.

With the legendary American guitarist Loren Connors, Sorrentino released “Shadow”, album based on improvisations for two electric guitars.

He has worked with important composers and musicians like Christian Wolff, Alvin Curran, John Russell, Machinefabriek, David Lang, Steven Mackey, Usui Yasuhiro, Scott Fields, Loren Connors, Tim Brady, Paul Lansky and many others. Van Stiefel wrote for him “Bound” - Electric Guitar Concerto for electric guitar and orchestra. Sergio’s recording of David Lang’s “Questionnaire” has been highlighted in the Bandcamp New and Notable section and it has been included by the historian Ted Gioia in his Top 100 Recordings of 2021. As a soloist, Sergio Sorrentino started his international concert career very early and has held solo concerts and master classes in many important festivals and venues (like Yale University, Sprague Hall in New Haven, Spectrum in New York, Festival de Música Contemporánea de La Habana in Casa de Las Américas, Cuba, Italian Cultural Institute of Paris, Sala Biala of the Wilanow Museum (Warsaw, Poland), International Guitar Research Conference/University of Surrey (UK), Vortex in London, Performance Room of Luxembourg, Filharmonia Gorzowska Concert Hall, ON Cologne Neue Musik Festival, In Situ Art Society in Bonn, Specktrum in Berlin, Nuova Consonanza Festival in Rome, Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte di Montepulciano, AngelicA Festival of Bologna, etc.).

JD Zazie is an experimental DJ, avant-turntablist, sound artist and curator based in Berlin.

Coming from a DJ and a radiophonic background JD Zazie has explored different approaches to real-time manipulation of fixed recorded sound. In her work she redefines DJ and electroacoustic activities. As a solo performer, in small groups, and in large ensembles, she works in an area which is constantly stretching the borders of what could be defined as DJ mixing, free improvisation and composed music. 
She is a member of Reanimation Orchestra, plays regularly solo and duos with Heidrun Schramm and with Henrik Munkeby Nørstebø.

She is the art director of the MuseRuole - women in experimental music festival,  a member of the Burp Enterprise collective and broadcasts monthly on Colaboradio and on Reboot.fm.

Introduction

Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Dorothy Dandridge, Langston Hughes, Joe Turner, Ivy Anderson, Wonderful Smith, Marie Bryant — all of these names represent highly accomplished Black artists from the early 20th century, with many of their careers extending past that, and some like Ellington and Hughes even cementing their legacies as household names. And yet, even in more niche circles of musicians, scholars, jazz and theatre aficionados, it is rarely brought up that all of these people once got together to create an ambitious musical revue with an all-African American cast called Jump for Joy. In 1941 Los Angeles, far and away from their home base of New York, Duke Ellington and His Famous Orchestra collaborated with other significant Black writers, dancers, producers, actors, singers, and performers, to devise a daring example of Black art that broke out of minstrel-esque stereotypes common to its contemporaries. (^2) The show was made possible by interest from important Hollywood executives and creatives eager to fund a show that could not get off the ground on Broadway, names that excited Ellington such as Joe Pasternak, John Garfield, William S. Burnett, Mario Castelnuevo, Ed Fishman, Bob Roberts, George Quince, and Al Barber. (^3)

Ellington was a passionate advocate for racial justice, an ideology consistent with his work and life through its entirety, and the groundwork for it was laid with Jump for Joy. At this particular time, Ellington and his orchestra had reached international acclaim, and the composer was arguably hitting his career stride. (^4) Also in 1941, American government officials were determining their potential place in the increasingly hostile World War II, which would change everything — soon after, many musicians would be drafted, money for entertainment strained, and cultural tastes changed to align with cultural anxieties. (^5) (^6) At home, though attitudes and conditions differed according to location, Black Americans were navigating a complicated reality that followed emancipation from slavery, and thus theoretically should have introduced greater freedoms and a breadth of opportunities, but was actually replaced instead with segregation, Jim Crow laws, and continued instances of racist violence from non-Black people. (^7) Ellington aimed to address political issues pertaining to the Black community in his musical, but more than this, his show as an intensive collaborative effort would demonstrate Black community coming together despite white supremacist efforts to dismantle community and reinforce capitalist ideologies of individualism. The approach to creating a musical that emphasized joy as liberatory is perhaps best exemplified by the anecdote from one of their accidental brainstorming sessions, where Paul Webster brought up his endeavors trying to create an all-Black musical “called Rhapsody in Black, a title no one seemed excited about. But Jump for Joy—that sounded promising.”(^8) From its conception, Jump for Joy was intended to not just replicate and subvert white models of performance (like Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue), rather it was meant to think outside of the box, break out of stereotypes, and bring out good spirits in those who attended. After months of putting together a sizeable cast and crew, tickets went on sale and the show went up on July 10, with celebrities such as Marlene Dietrich and Martha Raye at the premiere. Akutagawa Ryuunosuke:

i love akutagawa ryuunosuke my angst child but i’m just like ‘hmmmmmmm’ when it comes to what his course would probably be

after extensive research aka reading his character page on wiki i feel like maybe he’d be a history major because,,,, he likes antiques?

well his clothes do seem very dark academia-esque and i can see him liking something as cool as history

akutagawa’s probably into something like war history but he’s not weird about it he just finds it really cool how different strategies work or analyzing what exactly makes the winners win

he absolutely HATES the fact that he keeps having to read the Iliad for class

he’s also that classmate who INTENSIVELY DEFENDS achilles for being a bit of a little bitch (but he fully agrees that patroclus and achilles were gay af ok this was random moving on)

akutagawa has practically no social life. he doesn’t go to parties, he doesn’t talk to his roommate, he doesn’t even like to eat in the dining hall

BUT he absolutely loves being in debate team because WINNING

he’s such a nightmare to work with though but he just delivers so well when it’s time for him to speak. like, if he’s on a negative and it’s time to hash out rebuttals, just prepare to get MURDERED

other debaters: “esteemed scholars and adjudicators...”

akutagawa: “you, sir, have no idea how wrong you are.”

that is until dazai decided to randomly show up at a debate tournament all ‘la di da da’ like and completely crushed akutagawa along with his ego

from then on he started stalking dazai and just SOMEHOW managed to end up in his circle of friends

even though he’s antisocial in real life, akutagawa 100% runs a dark academia aesthetic blog on tumblr i’m right and i don’t accept criticism

it’s actually really good he has a ton of followers and even does requests for moodboards if someone asks nicely

atsushi was the one who actually found out about it but he’s nice so he didn’t tell akutagawa about it

Chuuya Nakahara:

if this part sounds like i’m just thirsting for chuuya then you’re absolutely right i love wine man

don’t get mad at me but i can ABSOLUTELY SEE HIM MAJORING IN FASHION DESIGN I MEAN LOOK AT HIM

he’s just always had such a good eye for fashion and he’s veryyy meticulous when it comes to snipping and putting together clothes

chuuya also carries a sketchbook full of designs and his drawings look amazing and he isn’t afraid to just show them off

that said he doesn’t dress like a tired uni student at all, like he just always looks so on-point and unbothered by his five million deadlines

dazai: chuuya, i said this was a CASUAL LUNCH

tbh if he just wore a white t-shirt and jeans i would die maybe he’s actually saving us from this ordeal

he has so much talent though as a designer he’s probably had several internships with design companies all throughout his years at uni

i feel like chuuya’s also really active in extracurriculars and has been in leadership positions in some of them (he probably runs the student org for fashion design)

chuuya in a student band though oh my gosh i can’t breathe i can’t breathe him as a VOCALIST?? and wearing torn jeans and eyeliner and that same hat in concerts ican’t brEATHE

okay in all honesty he would thrive being in a band chuuya loves the attention and the creativity of being able to design their whole look and write songs

tbh i don’t know if he’d have a roommate chuuya’s probably the type who’d rather have one of those single rooms or just rent a flat for him to stay in even after graduation

because his social life is super vibrant, he does have a lot of friends and he does make an effort to get to know all of them individually 

but he’s more open around those who he’s been friends with for a really long time and as much as he’d like to say dazai isn’t one of them, he is

also chuuya is definitely the type to party hard during the weekends and has more than once crashed in someone’s house after drinking too much (dazai drew on his face on more than one occasion)

Oda Sakunosuke:

i love this man SO MUCH you guys have no idea i would literally die for him

100% this guy majors in creative writing because this is supported by FACTS and not just me wanting to be coursemates with him in this fictional world

super serious and diligent with his work especially since he’s passionate about writing. he loves to read in his spare time and is such a fan of classic novels about social realism or philosophy

oda spends 99% of his time in second-hand bookshops that the owner probably knows him by name at this point

he’s super old school when it comes to writing though, like he still keeps and writes in a notebook before typing it up on a laptop and no matter how many times dazai tells him its impractical, oda just keeps doing it

lmao whenever workshops come around he’s super nice with his critique. i bet a lot of his fellow classmates like sending their writing drafts to him

he draws smiley faces and always adds ‘nice work’ on people’s drafts omg i love odasaku

he’s such an old soul, he probably doesn’t do a whole lot of partying but he likes more quiet, private social events like drinking with close friends or just hanging out and talking at other people’s houses

he and dazai probably met when dazai decided to take an intro to creative writing class and wrote a long poem about double suicide on his first day that kind of put off everyone in the class from wanting to sit with him

odasaku was the only one who wasn’t exactly bothered but he did give dazai some comments to help him with his poetry and dazai instantly wanted to be his friend

in terms of extracurricular life, i can definitely see odasaku joining a writing organization and even the campus newspaper. he does find joy in interviewing students for newspaper articles

he’s also pretty into photography and uses a really old, second-hand camera that he bought at an antique store and fixed himself. at one point he won a prize in a contest

odasaku would be the best roommate. he’s super sensitive to when you have a bad day and will invite you to sit on his bed and hug his pillow and talk about your problems

scratch that, everyone talks to odasaku about their problems and now your room is like a therapist’s office

ANOTHER CREATIVE WRITING BUDDY AHHH I WOULD LOVE TO BE BESTIES WITH HIM AHHH

well actually i feel like since he’s super ambitious and already has a fixed idea on the stuff he likes to write, he’d probably double major in something like forensic science because he’d use it to write his mystery novels

omg that’s where he meets ranpo and now pretty much every main character poe writes is slightly based on on ranpo

it’s a problem. his professor brings it up more than once during his classes but it’s poe’s Thing now

he also has such an unending passion for gothic literature and he wears those white, long-sleeved blouses and waistcoats on a REGULAR BASIS

chuuya probably saw him once and was like ‘hmm, i could pull that off’

poe’s daily route is just going to the library and to class and then go home and that’s about it

he ended up working as a student assistant at the library because he’s just super familiar with the book collections and it’s a job that’s peaceful and quiet 

more than once though, he’d just be really in-deep with his writing to the point that he doesn’t even notice that the library has closed or that he hasn’t eaten the entire day

that’s alright though because ranpo always passes by the library at night to check on his friend and (reluctantly) give him some snacks

also since poe’s pretty much a recluse, he doesn’t go to any social event UNLESS it’s a halloween-themed one

he loves going all out with his costumes because he’s a Drama Queen like that but the problem is he keeps dressing up as gothic novel characters and nobody gets it

there was this one time when poe took it upon himself to host the halloween party and it was EPIC

he basically designed it as a murder mystery night wherein everyone who came pretended to be guests at a house and then a murder happened

the only problem was that ranpo was conspiring with poe and it was pretty much unfair

except for the fact that ranpo was frustrated at how bad everyone was at deducing that he ended up solving the mystery for them

Fyodor Dostoevsky:

one of my favorite scenes of him in s3 was of fyodor playing the cello because god damn that is beautiful and therefore i am hc-ing him as a music major and you can’t tell me otherwise

fyodor is an absolute music genius and he was definitely scouted by the university’s music program and then he was granted a scholarship (because in this ideal university, the arts are valued)

he purposely decided to go to a university rather than a music conservatory because he’s also interested in learning a bunch of other things

aside from his music classes, he ventures into comparative literature and philosophy, even a bit of computer science at some point

people always assume that since he’s a music major he probably wouldn’t do well in other subjects but SURPRISE BITCH

anyway, fyodor’s a genius because god clearly has favorites

aside from attending class, he’s even part of an official orchestra and has even landed a few solos 

that said, he’s quite busy and very preoccupied in his own work to actually have a social life either

you’ll often find him rehearsing by himself in an empty classroom for hours and hours on end (someone pls bring him food he’s also the type to forget to eat or even drink water)

if you are able to catch him perform at an orchestra or just practice by himself, it’s quite a mesmerizing sight. his eyes are often closed so he could focus on the sound alone and his fingers move so elegantly along the neck of the cello

(sorry i just love people who play any form of stringed instrument)

fyodor also takes such good care of his cello. also he would probably kill you on the spot if you touched his bow

he has a fairly small group of friends and they like playing chess together (even though fyodor is better than all of them) and just talk about um,, idk philosophy and stuff (whatever it is smart people do idk i’m not one of them)

i have a feeling he actually follows akutagawa’s dark academia blog and loves his content, even to the point of requesting ‘cello player moodboards’

also because he’s a cello player he needs to take care of his fingers so he wears gloves a lot (idk why i find this hot)

Fatin Jadmani // Season 1 Field Notes

Field Note #028 – Welcome To Fort Travis High School, approximately 2,900 students enrolled. Something to note: Dot, Shelby, Toni, and Martha attend public schools, whereas Leah, Fatin, Nora, and Rachel attend private schools. An even fifty-fifty split, representing both sides of the educational divide.

Field Note #034 – Fatin didn’t have to read Jeff’s book for school because she decided against taking Contemporary American Lit, an elective she likes to call “Boring Bearded White Dudes 101.”

Field Note #038 – All of the girls except Dot are on social media, though Leah only posts Stories. Officially speaking, Fatin has the most followers (roughly 11k). However, Nora has a finsta where she posts drawings of birds wearing wings. This account has caught on in the art community, and actually tops Fatin’s by 57 followers.

Field Note #042 – Fatin likes to do a style reset every once in a while by going monochromatic for a day. Her green palette here includes shades of jade and pine.

Field Note #051 – Fatin’s mom is one of the top real estate agents in the Bay Area. She sells big-ticket properties in San Francisco and the East Bay, and prides herself in hosting the best open-house events. One of her secrets is playing classical music at just the right volume to make a house feel classy yet cozy.

Field Note #053 – Fatin only goes for college dudes. Her take on high school guys? They haven’t done enough living. If a guy doesn’t have a monthly car payment or do his own laundry, how can he be trusted in a hook-up context?

Field Note #092 – For those playing along, this is the second time we’ve seen Fatin use a random object as a fake “microphone.” First her toothbrush, now Martha’s hairbrush. It’s something she’s done since she as little; in her living room wall there’s a photo of her at four years old, hosting a fashion show using a red-white-and-blue Bomb Pop as a microphone.

Field Note #109 – To describe her after-school drink of choice, Martha says “pop,” which gives her away as a Midwesterner. Based on where they live, here’s a breakdown of how our girls refer to sugar carbonated beverages: Martha and Toni say “pop”; Rachel, Nora, Fatin, and Leah say “soda”; Shelby says “coke.”

RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM Anime Film Reveals a New Penguin Princess in 1st Main Trailer

  Just when one thought that one of the penguin hat wearers was enough, the first main trailer for the RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM anime film, a two-part compilation film of the original Penguindrum (known as Mawaru Peguindum in Japan) anime series, revealed that a second hat wearer will feature in the film alongside a brand new penguin character! Alongside the trailer, the character setting art for the two characters and child versions of Shouma and Kanba were released, as well as details on the theme song for part one of the two parts.

    Performing the theme song "Boku no Sonzai Shomei (My Proof of Existence)" for the first RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM is Etsuko Yakushimaru Metro Orchestra, who returns from the original anime series where she performed the opening themes "Nornir" and "boys, come back to me." The song features in the above trailer.

  New character design settings for the film

  The new penguin queen is Momoka Oginome and will be once again voiced by Aki Toyosaki, who returns alongside the rest of the cast from the original series. Her penguin Princhupenguin will be voiced by Sumire Uesaka. 

  Previously released visual:

  RE:cycle of the PENGUINDRUM, a two-part compilation film of the original 2011 TV anime with new elements, will be directed by Kunihiko Ikuhara, with Sarazanmei chief director Nobuyuki Takeuchi helping Ikuhara out as the deputy-director, original characters designed by Lily Hoshino, with Terumi Nishii returning to adapt them into animation alongside Tomomi Kawatsuma. The TV animation was done at BRAIN'S BASE with the theatrical edition having its animation produced at Lapin Track. 

  Both films are scheduled to be released in 2022 with the first film "Your Train is a Survival Strategy" scheduled to be released on April 29. The films were crowdfunded, raising 105,192,960 yen (US$957,606) against a funding goal of just 10 million yen.
