It's so romantic, sad, sweet, and dark that future Viktor knows that he's the cause of the downfall of the whole world and he uses Hextech to do it, but he loves Jayce so much that he chooses to save him and give him a rune in every timeline he tries.

Realistically, totally practically? Letting Jayce and his mom succumb to the elements would guarantee a universe without hextech. But Viktor could not justify a universe without Jayce in it. Another practical idea would be to never give him the rune—it doesn't necessarily mean hextech would be outright impossible per se, but from what we see it would be far more difficult.

Viktor wanted to save the world, but he was also willing to doom it time and time again because he knew this first step always leads to another version of him that's lonely and in need of love to finding Jayce. Every single time. He risked the world to find Jayce every single time.

Turns out Wonder Woman's 1930s design is somehow closer to how the ancient Greeks depicted Amazons then most "greek-inspired" WW redesigns from the 21st c. This was inspired my me going "Hold up... why is Diana always depicted as an ancient Greek when the Amazons were specifically... NOT the ancient Greeks.
