after writing out the post I realized that I actually am so bad at assigning real people to the incredibly specific visions I have in my head, and for the most part, my “fancasts” are entirely based off of vibes
For example, there was this one Netflix show based off of a graphic novel called “deadly class” and I swear to god the main character was just Neil Josten with a slightly altered backstory. He has trauma, is on the run, is caring but only when he opens up which is rare bc he has trust issues. This is what he looks like:

Oh my godd! I know exactly what you mean with slow drying of the nail polish. It happened to me as well for the longest time because I would do several coats. Then I had enough of that happening at some point and I switched to doing only one coat of colour with polishes that are opaque enough for that (and then sometimes either a base or top coat). But that also seems to worsen the chipping a lot. It is a mystery to me even tho I've been painting my nails on and off for years.
Ohhh it's so cool you used to swim so much. I can barely😂swimming was never my favourite thing because a lot of my first experiences were marked by school...and it just wasn't the best. But water is so calming, it just quiets your mind so I definitelly get that it can be really cool.
Do you still swim? Or have you started doing some other form of exercise? I enjoy dancing a lot. I always claimed to hate running (surprise, suprise, because of school) but started trying to run sometimes in the mornings.

It's horrible! I'd spent so much time geting the polish on nicely and then literally watch an episode of a series with my hands flat on my desk, but still after 40 minutes they would not be completely dry and get messed up :( Ohh nice! I feel like it's hard to find good opaque ones tho but that would for sure help with properly drying them It is a mystery and a struggle, I really like having my nails done but the hassle is sometimes just not worth it I also used a new polish a while back that made my nails incredibly brittle and I'm still dealing with that rn, really wanna grow my nails longer but they keep breaking :(

I'm actually quitting soon, I have been a swimmer for about 15 years but it's getting a bit old now and some stuff happened that made me rethink if I want to continue I recently got into zumba, which I really enjoy! Besides that I try and do some weightlifting, but not any crazy intense stuff And I walk, I like taking walks, looking for pretty flowers and cats on the street and playing pokemon go

what's childhood trauma au?

So I think I’ve talked about the background of the idea here but not much about what the fic actually is. I’m trying to be mysterious because all I have is an outline and like 400 words and I don’t want to disappoint people by never finishing/publishing it. But I'll talk a bit about the premise and maybe share something from the outline.
the backstory is that my best friend did not remember having any friends growing up until her parents revealed that one of their neighbor kids came over a lot, and her parents found it annoying so they starting telling the other parents that my friend was grounded and couldn't play. Because it was more convenient for them if she was playing quietly alone in her room, I guess. Which, I don’t think I need to say, is incredibly fucked up. After her parents told this story, she remembered some bits and pieces of this, but before her parents brought it up again the entire memory was sort of repressed.
And here is where I’m going to clarify that I’m writing all this with my friend’s full permission bc it sounds kinda fucked up to jump from that to “anyway so now I’m writing a fic about that” 😭 we both have similar attitudes towards most of our trauma which is: humor and fic are really good coping mechanisms actually. So I thought she might enjoy a fic based on this premise (I was already planning to write something incredibly specifically tailored to her tastes for her birthday and it’s hard to get more tailored than this) but because it is a pretty intensive project to just drop on someone I asked if she thought it would be a good idea and she said “yeah you have to write that the author’s note would be so funny.” So here I am though admittedly I think this is too big of a project to actually complete by September and I may need a different idea for this year’s birthday, unless I start posting before I finish which I’m meh on since the outline could still change (but I’ll see how things go once I finish my hospital fic and start focusing more on this).
So, yeah, it’s a fic where Dan and Phil are childhood friends, Dan’s parents drive Phil away, Dan represses the memory, so he doesn’t actually remember Phil as anyone other than that neighbor kid, while Phil remembers being friends and then Dan just suddenly not being there, and Phil assumes it was Dan voluntarily pulling away. The story follows them reuniting in high school.
As you can probably imagine, this wasn’t a one off thing. Dan’s parents just suck. There are a lot of weird fucked up things my parents did to me as a child that I didn’t realize were weird and fucked up until I talked to other people about it. There were many other things I did know were weird and fucked up. Living in that household caused me severe mental health issues, and I still have minor siblings who live with my parents. So, yeah, mainly this fic is about that. I literally made a list of fucked up stories from my childhood and gave them to fictional Dan. Not all of the things that happened in this fic actually happened to me (and a lot of the ones that did are exaggerated in some way) but many did.
I don't have much writing done yet (400 words is an overstatement actually) but I do have it fully outlined, here are some fun notes from my outline document (mostly actually funny even though the piece is actually very angsty because out of context none of the angst makes sense/is angsty/i wrote it in a way that sounds funny even though it is not):

lots of chances for gay trauma in gym class. as a treat for my hyperfixation brain i’m going to let them take a weightlifting class. phil seems like the kind of student to leave his PE credit for his senior year and need it to graduate

Intention
My intention with the DRVN 30 Journey is to prove to myself, that I can take the challenge and to experience what it's like to commit with a community for future reference and present growth.
These are the rules:
1. Daily Exercise 🏋🏽
Rule: 30 minutes
Goal: Anything that moves your body and gets your blood flowing.
Examples: Weightlifting, yoga, running, active recovery like stretching, Tai Chi, etc.
2. Mindfulness 🧘🏽
Rule: 15 minutes
Goal: Anything that helps you connect with your body, mind & spirit.
Examples: Meditation (guided or unguided), visualization, breathwork, hypnosis, sitting in silence etc.
3. Journaling 📝
Rule: 10 minutes (digital or physical writing)
Goal: Self-reflect or get your thoughts out of your head.
Examples: Gratitude journaling, mental vomit (write down whatever thoughts you have), write down your goals, self-inquiry (see "Resources" tab for PDF) etc.
4. Diet 🥗
Rule: Follow a generally healthy, whole-food diet.
If you're not sure whether something is good, don't have it.
No alcohol, no junk food, no cheat meals etc.
Examples: Whole-food, minimally or unprocessed, Paleo, Keto, Plant-based, etc. 
5. Screen Time 📵
Rules:
#1 No media consumption for the first & last hour of your day.
#2 No more than 2 hours of media consumption per day.
What counts as media: entertainment, music, social media scrolling, podcasts (even if it's "productive") etc.
Exceptions: 
Utility apps like meditation apps, workout apps, google maps, logistical text messages.
If your work requires you to.
Your screen time can be over 2 hours a day if you used it for utilities or work, but specific apps can't be over 2 hours (e.g. YouTube, Spotify, Chrome etc.).
Tips:
Set an alarm for the evenings to turn off your phone.
Install social media blocking apps (see "Resources" tab).
6. Accountability check-in ✅
Rule: 
Option 1: Check in with a friend who's joining the challenge at the end of the day via text. Ask them "What did you do today to complete everything?", 
optionally ask for proof (screen shots etc.).
Option 2: Post your daily progress publicly on social media, for example, a screenshot of your habit tracker on Instagram stories. 
Make sure you include what day it is and use the hashtag #DRVN30. 
Goal: Stay accountable through positive peer pressure.
Tips: Set an alarm near the end of the day so you don't forget to check-in.
This is how I intend to include it in the 30 Days starting February 1st, on a weekly basis:

This leads to a 90 min Morning Routine and a 70 min Evening Routine.
Morning Routine
Meditation after Waking up
Exercise after Meditation (Run / Yoga)
Breakfast after Exercise
Morning Journaling after Breakfast, including a Gratefulness portion and a Planning portion of the day
Evening Routine
Exercise (Gym / Jeet Kune Do)
Meditate after Exercise
Dinner after Meditation
Evening Journal after Dinner, including Accomplishments and reflection of the day.
It is rather fitting, that I'm in the midsts of finishing Atomic Habits by James Clear so this shall be a great test if I have really embraced the information given in this book. Also, I have been doing all of these things somewhat regularly the past few weeks so I am looking forward to dedicate to them in a more structure manner.
My intention here would be to document the meditation sessions with the insight timer app, log my workouts with the Runtastic app or taking photos of the gym or my dojo, taking photos of the breakfast and an evening screenshot of my screentime and share my journal entries.
I'm really looking forward to this and can't wait to start.

I think a lot of people have heard the director state
"There's a lot of talk about her body type and we based it on Olympian athletes and not bodybuilders."
Does anyone want to know a specific "Olympian" they based She-Hulk's body off of?
"Olympian Misty Copeland was a body that we referenced, you know, of someone who was very, very, very strong, but also could walk through the world and operate in the normal world at a scale that is very large, but it's still very human because she has to go on dates she has to work in a regular office."

Misty Copeland. Misty. Freaking. Copeland. She is a goddess and an icon. Here are some of her greatest accomplishments.
"2008 Leonore Annenberg Fellowship in the Arts and was named National Youth of the Year Ambassador for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in 2013. In 2014, President Obama appointed Copeland to the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition. She is the recipient of a 2014 Dance Magazine Award and was named to the 2015 TIME 100 by TIME Magazine." - American Ballet Theatre
Misty Copeland is an amazingly talented person, who has dealt with immense struggles due to her body type, but she is not an Olympian. She's a ballerina. Ballet, by definition from Oxford Languages,
"...is characterized by light, graceful, fluid movements."
I'm especially pissed because when growing up, I was a ballerina. And my sister was a Track & Field thrower. When I heard of She-Hulk as a kid, I always imagined her looking like my sister. Looking like her build - not the ones of prima ballerinas.

While writing this, I've been sitting here thinking about how many great ACTUAL Olympians they could have used as inspiration for She-Hulk's build.

There are so many incredible female Olympians they could have used as inspiration. There are so many strength-based sports. The Summer Olympics alone have 33 sports.
But they specifically wanted She-Hulk's build to be inspired by
"not bodybuilders."
Even if this meant putting more work on the VFX Artists of the show who made her larger to begin with. Sean Ruecroft, a VFX Artist who worked on Infinity War and Moon Knight, took to Twitter to let people know the struggles Marvel put their team through.
"I was at a company that did VFX for this. Apparently, she was bigger early on, but the notes kept saying to ‘make her smaller.'"
They put more work on the artists, pushing them into the same inspiration that was used for Natasha Romanoff.

On the subject of Hunter's and Willow's strengths: I think they more or less match each other but each specializes in different types of strength. Willow was shown to be doing specifically weightlifting exercises, her thing would be 'sustained' strength. And then Hunter is shown to be doing regular martial arts type type moves with the added ability to zap around with the staff so I think his coven scouts' training was geared more towards building 'explosive' strength (e. g. a lot of force for a short period of time vs. less force over a sustained period of time)
I'm pretty sure those are like real terms used in bodybuilder circles and such, as something you could kind of gear your muscles towards with specific types of exercises but don't quote me on that
Yeah. It's based on my own little headcanons and stuff but I imagine that Willow is probably the physically stronger one between them because I see her as somebody who was naturally strong to begin with (Big girl. Sturdy build. Broad shoulders.) but then she took up her regular morning weightlifting so now she's a complete fucking tank.
Meanwhile Hunter was lanky and had to work his way up to this point. And yeah his training was absolutely more combat/agility based so while it had the perk of building up the muscles, that had never been the main priority. He hasn't done a lot of heavy lifting like Willow has but he probably wouldn't be half bad at it if it came to that.
Definitely not to the extent of Willow though. The girl caught his whole body with one arm, then flung him over her shoulder and effortlessly carried him like that. I think its safe to assume Hunter wouldn't be able to pull off something like that but I can't blame him. Nobody would. Willow is just built different.
