Barry Allen x Male Reader (Gender bent Powerpuff Girl)

Y/N floated above the Central City Picture News as he sighed and smiled softly. Nine months ago, he was the only person on the planet who had powers. Now, it seems like everyone and their mother had them. While it was bad, it was also good because there were people out there who were just like him, fighting the good fight.

Speaking of said people, Y/N could feel a slight wind at his back as he heard a whoosh behind him. He smirked and turned around to see a man about 6 foot 2, dressed in a red leather suit with a yellow lightning bolt symbol on his chest.

“So the rumors are true. You are real.”

“I’m feeling pretty real.” The guy in red pats his body down to check if he’s real. It’s cute and dorky and it lets Y/N know that this guy, whoever he is underneath the mask, is a total nerd.

Y/N chuckles lightly as the guy looks up at him and frowns. “That’s… an interesting… fashion choice?” It’s more of a question than a statement as he gestured towards Y/N’s getup. He wore fingerless hot pink gloves with heart-shaped outlines over the outside palms of his hands. Had a purple shirt underneath a green leather jacket and light blue spandex pants with black boots.

The flying man smiles at him. “Says the man who’s dressed all in red leather. You’d fit right in at a leather bar and club.” The man in red looked down and even though Y/N couldn’t see he was blushing, he could hear his heartbeat beat faster at that statement.

“So, you’re like me then? The impossible?” The man asks Y/N. “Because I just witnessed a guy who had control over the weather, and now I see you flying in the air like its nothing.”

“Sorta,” Y/N said. “It’s true that I am artificially made superhuman, but I didn’t get my powers in the particle accelerator explosion like the Meta-humans running around Central City.”

The man looks shocked. “You know about their name? Their nicknames?”

“Wasn’t that hard to name them. My father was a scientist, so I know a thing or two.”

The red man nods. “Who are you and why haven’t I ever seen you in Central City before until just right now?”

Y/N sighed as he floated down to the building the man was standing on. “I moved here about nine months ago, the same time the accelerator exploded. Before that, I didn't think I needed to show the world my powers. I didn't want to scare anyone, so I hid them. Now that other people have powers as well, I've come out of the closet, so to speak, to stop them.”

He nods again. “So, what do I call you? Rainbow man? Sugar, spice, and everything nice?”

Y/N chuckles. That was more appropriate than he knew. “You can call me, Major Man.”

“Major Man?” The man in red raised his eyebrows. “Somebody has a high opinion of himself.”

Major Man shrugged his shoulders. “When you can fly and are nigh invulnerable with super speed, laser-eye beams, supersonic screams, and ice breath, what else are people supposed to call you? Seems like a major list of abilities, don't you think?”

“Okay, fair point,” the man in red said. “That's certainly a lot of powers you have there. And you said you were artificially created?”

Y/N nods. “My father wanted to create the perfect little boy and accidentally created me in his lab.”

“So, you're not the perfect boy?”

“Oh, I am. Just with a super-powered kick.”

They both chuckle. “So, what do I call you, Speedy Gonzales? The Whoosh? The Red Streak? The Blur? Or the Scarlet Speedster?”

The guy chuckles again. “What about the Flash? I'm just saying that I think that’s a pretty cool superhero name, right?”

Y/N thinks about it. “Nah, I still prefer the Blur, Scarlet.” He smiles as the Flash smiles as well.

“Well, this has been fun, but I really should get going. I have work in the morning.”

The Flash looks surprised. “You have a job?”

“Of course, I have a job. Why wouldn't I have a job?”

“I thought this.” Flash motioned towards YN. “Was your job?”

“No, no, I do this because it's the right thing to do, but it doesn't pay my bills.”

“I feel that.”

“I'll be seeing you, Scarlet.” Y/N winked as he flew into the air. “I have a code name, you know?” the Flash told him. Major Man turned and gave him one last smile. “Don't care. Scarlet suits you.” Then he was gone, a bright energy trail of pink, green, and blue behind him as he flew out of the Flash’s line of sight.

The Flash grinned. “Cool…”

In his coms, he could hear Cisco laughing at him. “Ooh, someone has a gay crush.”

The Flash blushed as red as his suit. “Shut up, Cisco.” He speeds off the roof.

Outlaws: Battle to the Death

Part 13 in the series,

Jason Todd x Male! Reader (Silver Canary)

The rain hit hard as Red Hood ran through the alleyway chasing down the newest criminal, he hadn’t seen anything but the rage flowing as he charged at the man, knocking him to the floor.

Arsenal back flipped over a knife that was thrown at him as he then swung out and punched the other man, knocking him off his feet.

‘Switch’ Arsenal said as he rolled over Red Hoods back, the two men getting into the swing of takeouts.

As the last man fell to the ground Red Hood sighed, hearing an explosion in the distance. Arsenal gasped as his eyes widened.

The two ran towards the fire that was billowing in the air, witnessing as people ran screaming. It was a war of enemies, from all over and every direction.

Arsenal stood face to face with a Red Lantern, Atrocitus, while Jason faced off with Scarecrow.

There was criminals, villains, everything you could think. They were everywhere. Red Robin showed up to give a hand, along with Superboy.

Mr Freeze, Riddler, Two Face, too many and too well manned. The enemies were winning due to there being more of them, and not enough heroes.

‘Robin, look out’ Red Hood shouted as Red Robin got knocked down on his back. Rolling on the floor to dodge slams and getting Impaled by Javelin.

Red Hood began shooting up the place while Arsenal used his arrows, the two were now aiming for heads or any vital organ that would take someone out.

It was breaking news as you sat quietly watching TV, the twins playing together in the play pen. You gasped as you saw the small amount of heroes going hard. Outnumbered and exhausted.

You pulled out your phone as you panicked, dialling numbers of heroes you knew to help. While also looking for someone who could look after the kids while you helped.

Jason was in over his head as he tried to take out Bane and Sinestro at the same time, though Clay Face made sure Jason didn’t get far enough.

As many more villains cornered the heroes of four, Red Hood reloaded his guns, Arsenal got his arrows ready. Standing back to back, Red Robin and Superboy held up their staff and fists ready for more action.

There was a sudden vibration that shattered nearby windows, the heroes covered their ears. Witnessing as Black and Silver Canary stood both releasing their Canary cry.

Green Lantern, Flash and Cyborg then showed up and began to help with fighting. Now more help on their side, the villains were getting knocked down successfully.

Red Hood ran over to you as he grabbed your face as he spoke, ‘what the hell are you doing here? Where are the kids?’ Breathless voice as he spoke.

‘They’re with Dick, I’m helping you guys. Otherwise you’re all going to die’ you explained.

A strike of lighting grabbed everyone’s attention as Black Adam appeared, the Flash running towards him to knock him over before he could shoot Lightning to anyone.

‘Barry Allen’ was all Black Adam screamed as Cyborg took Black Adam on one to one.

There wasn’t much else to do at this point except for everyone to either pair up, or take someone their own size on.

As Red Robin knocked out Penguin, you knocked out Scarecrow with a hard punch in the face.

There was a sudden drop as it fell silent as a few hours of fighting was suddenly over. Crumbled parts of buildings fell around everyone’s bodies.

There was stillness in breathing for a few seconds as everyone prepared. Alas, that was it. Villains fell after hours of tireless effort. Heroes stood tall against one another as people started looking around.

Red Hood looked at you as he wrapped an arm around your waist, whispering how much he loves you in your ear.

…

You all walked to the street as the sun seemed to be coming up strong, a beam of light was visible as Dr Fate stepped forward.

‘Heroes of Gotham, you’re fate has changed’ was all he said, grabbing everyone’s attention.

‘What the hell is that supposed to mean?�� Arsenal asked, he said nothing else as he disappeared.

There was suddenly an earthquake that caused the ground to split apart, you held Jason’s hand but got separated when the rumbling got stronger. The ground between you lifting as you both fell apart.

‘Y/n’ Jason called out as you rolled down a hill, letting out a grunt as you hit the rocky floor below.

Not much else happened after to your recollection as you blacked out, but when you woke up the sun was still up.

You sat up as there was distant gunfire and explosions from behind, getting up on your feet you rushed over to where the sounds were coming from.

‘Shit’ you sighed as you saw Red Hood and Arsenal fighting, again.

There was Bane, Scarecrow and other villains back on their feet.

‘Tim’ someone shouted as Red Robin fell to the floor, Impaled. He wasn’t breathing.

‘Fuck no, Timmy’ Red Hood called as he nearly sobbed out. His younger brother was on the ground dead.

You stood and watched as the Heroes fell one by one. Arsenal got shot in the head, Dinah got electrocuted by Black Adam.

You began to cry as you saw yourself being lifted off the ground to a height by Zod. Dropped and killed on impact of hitting the ground.

Red Hood got cornered as he then got trampled by a bunch of other villains. You had to be dreaming at this point.

As all the Heroes lay on the floor still and lifeless you watched as Dr Fate appeared, however, he turned and looked at you.

‘The fate can change, but you cannot change everything’ he said, that’s when another earthquake happened and you again fell from the ground splitting.

You woke up once again, to just when you were at home.

‘Am I dead?’ You asked as Dick knocked on your front door.

‘Babysitting service from Uncle Dick’ he smiled as he walked in. He noticed you looked on edge, picking up on your flushed face.

‘You ok y/n?’ He asked, you nodded as he walked to the twins.

There wasn’t time to sit and think about what just happened, you must’ve fallen asleep and had a strange dream.

That’s all it had to be of course, a dream, but you couldn’t sit on it too long as you bounded into action.

You knew everyone lived as you saw them walking away victorious, but Dr Fate must’ve somehow shown you a possible future.

‘What are you doing here? Where are the kids?’ Red Hood asked you, you smiled softly to your husband.

‘With Dick’ you replied as you stood and watched, there must’ve been a moment where something changed causing a problem with your apparent future.

As the fight went on for what seemed like forever you then realised there was a sign that had fallen. As you looked at it, it had pieces broken off but you could just read the word ‘sky’ on it.

That’s when it hit you as mental flashbacks of what you saw came to mind, everyone died from something that happened above.

‘Superboy, up high, take them out. Tim, stay on the left side, Arsenal keep low and Hood, go red’ you called out, no one asked questions as to how you knew what to do to take everyone down.

‘What about me?’ Dinah asked you, you winked as you stood beside her.

‘Scream’ you smiled as Dinah and yourself both let you canary cries out. Dinah hitting who was in front as you hit upwards.

The fight needed quicker than the first time it did, but you were still scared in case Dr Fate showed you something else.

All of you walked away together as you went along the street, but you weren’t alone as you turned around to see Dr Fate again.

‘No, not again’ you spoke with panic in your voice, everyone looking at you.

‘The final battle will come, but for now Canary, the fate has been sealed’ he said as he then teleported away.

‘What did you mean by not again?’ Arsenal asked you, but you didn’t answer.

‘Y/n?’ Tim said softly as he placed a hand on your shoulder.

‘We did this before, but Fate showed me different ways it ended, including us all dying. I can’t explain, that’s how I knew where to hit. Dr Fate must’ve known that it wasn’t over yet’ you said.

Back at home Jason was going through some Bat tech to find if there were anymore hits. Gotham was a hotspot for criminal activity lately but nothing like what had happened.

‘Black Adam teaming up with Riddler and Bane, just doesn’t seem right’ Dick said as he held Joey up and played with her.

‘No it doesn’t, but there must be something else. Dr Fate mentioned a final battle’ Jason said, not looking away from his screen.

‘It’s tomorrows problem Jay, I think we should maybe get the kids out and try and have a seemingly normal day’ you said, holding yours and Jason’s son.

Jason smiled and nodded as he walked over and kissed you, taking your son into his arms.

‘I like that idea, there’s a fair not too far from here’ Dick chirped as he swung Joey playfully as she giggled.

You all left and walked around together as a family, having a normal day together for the first time in a while.

Something may not have been sitting right with either of the adults, but it was a problem to deal with later.

Even after the funeral it never stopped raining. It was almost as if the whole world was mourning too. Losing someone like the Flash was like a punch to the gut. He was loved by his friends, family, even his enemies. But to those closest to him they didn’t just lose a hero. They lost a friend, husband, father, and an uncle. The death of Barry Allen would haunt Y/N for the rest of their life.

They only knew him for the 3 years that Wally and Y/N have been spending together. Wally’s family is big and full of love and took to Y/N in no time. But out of everyone Barry and Iris were the most excited to meet Y/N. They were so warm and Barry just couldn’t seem to stop hugging them. They didn’t mind though, it’s a gesture that is honestly missed.

And the smile that adorned Wally’s face every time they went to visit was infectious. Iris and Barry were his two most favorite people in the world. Y/N took no offense to this because it was easily seen as to why. Wally not only loved his uncle but looked up to him. Y/N has spent countless hours listening to Wally retell his favorite adventures with his uncle. Y/N laughed, cried, and appreciated every energetic story Wally told.

Y/N and Wally went over to the Allen house as much as they could. Especially when the tornado twins were born, it takes a village to raise super kids. The home was such a comfort and filled with so much joyful noise.

But ever since that day, that same home has been plunged into silence. A dark cloud seemed to loom over it as a family was left in shambles. That same cloud seemed to loom over the cozy apartment shared by Y/N and Wally. Ever since the funeral it was almost as if Wally had taken a vow of silence. He shared a beautiful speech that day, one that left everyone in tears. Even Bruce was sniffing by the end of it.

Y/N was very hands-on leading towards the day of the service. Being a pillar of support for the Flash family. Helping Iris with flowers, putting the twins down for naps, squeezing Bart’s shoulder when it was his turn to lay his flowers, and preparing food for after the service. But when it came to Wally, he acted as if he was fine. Like the death of his uncle wasn’t hurting him as bad as it was.

Wally’s eyes always remained straight forward but were also always glassy with unshed tears. Every time Y/N asked Wally if he was alright or needed anything the answer was always a small smile and “I’m fine.” Y/N couldn’t understand why Wally was adamant about appearing alright. Lost in their thoughts Y/N almost didn’t hear the kettle screaming.

Y/N quickly removed it off the flame and placed it to the side. They reached up to the cupboard and looked for two mugs to pour the hot water into. A black mug with a faded Batman symbol for Y/N, and a shiny new Green Lantern mug for Wally

“I need it!” Wally had said one day while the two of them went to the store one time.

Y/N chuckled fondly at the memory but as the teabags steeped the smile fell from their face. Y/N added cream and just about 50 spoonfuls of sugar to Wally’s cup. For them some honey and milk was just fine.

Y/N picked up the mugs and walked over to their shared room. They bumped the door with their hip and entered.

“Here ya go, half tea and half sugar.” As they walked over Wally shimmied up in the bed. Lifting himself up by his elbows Wally watched Y/N place the cup on his nightstand.

“Thanks babe.” Wally smiled but it didn’t reach his eyes.

And Wally’s short response didn’t sit well Y/N as they sipped on their own tea. Thunder rolled and soon lightning followed after it.

Y/N's stomach was rolling with anxiety but they knew it was time. The conversation was going to be uncomfortable but Y/N could see the signs. Wally’s hair was long, uncharacteristically long. He was another week of not shaving away from having a full beard. His eyes were dark and unfocused almost all the time now. Wally’s side of the bed was always warm, because to be quite honest he barely ever leaves it.

And even though Barry’s passing is fresh, the world goes on. People still need saving, so his indicator has been blowing up left and right! Waiting to be answered, but Wally doesn’t. He just left it in a drawer, maybe in an attempt to silence it. And everyday it bleeped and chirped but Wally just wouldn't pick it up. Eventually the battery on the damn thing died. Y/N sighed and that’s when Wally looked up from his mug. Y/N stared at him and Wally must have known what was up because he quickly looked away. Y/N put their mug on their nightstand and jumped up on the bed. Sitting on their knees they cleared their throat as they attempted to start speaking.

“Wall—“I'm fine Y/N.” Y/N blinked owlishly at Wally.

“What?”

“I said I’m fine Y/N.”

Y/N lifted a brow at Wally because it was obviously a lie.

“Ok, the fact that you’re saying that before I could even say something just lets me know that you’re everything but fine!”

Wally seemed to ignore them as he reached over the bed for the remote. Wally placed his mug down and started aimlessly flicking through channels.

Y/N breathed in deeply through their nose and exhaled. Attempting to have some patience with their lover. But they still went ahead and snatched the remote out of Wally’s hand anyway.

“HEY I was watching tha-No you weren’t.” Y/N turned the T.V off and flung the remote to a corner in the room.

“Wally, you are not fine. You keep telling me that but anyone can see that you’re struggling.”

Wally sighed and clenched his eyes tight, laying back down on the bed.

Y/N licked their lips as they continued.

“I know it’s been hard and you’ve done an amazing job taking care of everybody else, but you need to do the same for yourself. You’re hurting, baby.”

Y/N reached for Wally hand lacing their fingers together. Wally’s eyes were still closed but he gave a squeeze letting Y/N know he was still listening.

For a moment they just sat together in silence as the sound of the rain tapping the window filled the room.

“I-shit Y/N I really don’t know what to do.” Wally released Y/N's hand as he sat up in the bed. The blanket pooled around his hips. Wally was shirtless finding comfort in just wearing gray sweats. He pressed his back against the headboard and Y/N copied his position.

Y/N grabbed Wally’s hand again, running their thumb across the freckled skin of it. Wally smiled at the familiar gesture, a small yet noticeable one.

“W-when I decided to retire, part of the reason was because I thought the world wouldn’t really need me.”

Y/N was going to say something but decided to just let Wally continue. He was wanted, not just needed and Y/N wondered if Wally understood that.

“Don’t get me wrong I loved being Kid Flash but I found comfort in the idea that people would still have the flash around to protect them. And B-Barry was so supportive even though he tried to convince me to stay. I wanted to experience normalcy and figure out where Wally started and Kid Flash ended.”

Wally closed his eyes, taking a shuddering breath.

“I just thought that well Barry’s got it! He was the Flash way before I was KF so he should be fine when I’m gone! I just-“

Wally suddenly threw his head in his hands. A sob escaped his throat and his whole body shook.

Y/N rubbed the back of Wally’s neck and ran their fingers through red locks of hair.

“It’s okay, it’s gonna be okay Wally, just breathe.” Y/N cooed to Wally trying their best to comfort him. It broke their heart to see Wally like this but he needed to do this. Y/N knew that Wally had to let all of this out one way or the other.

And there’s no better way to release grief other than having a good cry. Of course the pain would still be there but this is just a step that has to be taken in order to make it more manageable.

After a few more shuddering breaths Wally looked up at Y/N. He plopped his head on their shoulder and Y/N leaned over to kiss Wally’s forehead.

“I just never thought that in a million years that I would lose him. It was like I just blinked, and he was gone. And now there’s no hero to protect and represent Central City. Sure Jay and Bart could step up to the plate but, I know it’s me.”

Wally sat up and looked Y/N directly in their eyes.

“It has to be me, doesn’t it?”

Wally stated in a whisper almost as if he was telling Y/N a secret.

And Y/N saw something new in Wally’s eyes since the funeral. A shimmer of light but there was also something very prominent in those eyes, and it was fear.

Y/N swiped some of Wally’s hair behind his ears and cradled his face in their hands.

“The world still needs heroes Wally, and right now Central City needs you now more than ever.”

Wally closed his eyes but stayed still in Y/N's embrace.

“But I’m not ready, I mean hell I haven’t even been training lately!” Wally exclaimed some of that humor starting to peek through.

“So we’ll get you ready!” Y/N chuckled. You’re not gonna be alone, I’m gonna be right here with you every step of the way! Wally West, if there is anyone in this world who can be The Flash, it is you!”

Y/N released Wally’s face and stared at him with an intensity in their (e/c) eyes.

“Iris, Bart, Jay, Joan, and Barry Wally we all believe in you and it’s time for you to believe in yourself too. You can do this, I know you can!”

And just like that light behind Wally’s eyes bursted. As if all his energy came back full force. Wally jumped and embraced Y/N squeezing them tightly. The hug knocked Y/N off balance sending the two toppling over the bed.

Wally was plastering kisses wherever he could on Y/N neck and face. Y/N giggled at the action especially because of Wally’s new facial hair tickling them. Wally’s heart swelled at the sound, realizing it had been a long time since he'd heard it.

Wally finally stopped his assault as he sat up to look down at Y/N. This is why Wally loved them so much. Even at his absolute lowest Y/N not only stayed by his side but somehow managed to help Wally get his spark back.

Y/N cracked their eyes open to look at Wally. His now long curly hair framed his face and his smile was finally reaching his eyes again. Wally looked absolutely beautiful.

Wally leaned down and placed a kiss on Y/N lips. Y/N reached up and wrapped their arms around Wally’s neck. Wally placed his hands on Y/N’s waist and lifted the two of them up, placing Y/N in his lap.

The two finally separated trying to catch their breath.

For a moment Wally and Y/N sat in silence just enjoying the others presence. Wally finally broke the silence when he asked Y/N a question.

“Y/N do you..really think I can do this?” Wally’s brows were furrowed in uncertainty.

Y/N placed a small kiss on Wally’s cheek and then a tender one on his lips.

“Babe, I know you can do this.”

Wally’s smirk morphed into a hug smile and he embraced Y/N once more. But abruptly he stood up and sped over to the nightstand that held his communicator.

“I should uh probably go charge this.” Wally smiled sheepishly as he pressed some buttons on the communicator.

Y/N stood up and padded over to the bathroom. In there they rummaged under the sink. When they returned they had a pair of scissors and some hair clippers in their hand.

Wally whirled around in confusion but then ran his hand through his hair. And an expression of realization dawned his face. Wally also rubbed his face and raised an eyebrow.

“Uhh do we have any more razors in there?”

Y/N laughed as they went back to the bathroom. Their heart swelled because even though there was still more work to be done, they were getting their Wally back. And Central City was getting their hero back.

As Wally started cutting his hair in the mirror Y/N looked over towards the window. The rain had finally stopped.
