Which one of your OCs needs the most hugs? 馃珎
Specthor, without a doubt! He endures a lot for his team of monsters... but is fine: they all now and then corner him for a smooshy fluffy dose of hugs x'D
Here! Have an old short sequence of him with his spooky pals Noddie (moth girl), Wasabi (kappa lady), Rythma (skelly dancer), Adrift (pirate zombie) & Rukmin (crocodile semi-deity) being affectionate to him 馃寛

[ 28 - N O D A T A ] ~Fluttering Muse~
AKA "Noddie". She is one of many fae that can lift and "pollinate" positive energies around her. Nods focus and live from creative/constructive energies, and it is common for her to fly around individuals or groups of people with artistic tendencies.
You can usually see her around the shoulders or tuck in the pockets/hats of her monster neighbors!
(Nodata is an old nickname she got the first time because her small presence was hard to notice by everyone in the plane of Barrioween until she presented personally to the cast).
TBH this is a pretty informal quick reference and information about her because the project is still under construction but I want to be braver and show my original characters here too!

[ 07 ~ S P E C T H O R ] ~Eldritch Shadow~
AKA "Thor". An entity of an observant nature and solitary habits, born from a heart embittered by his own unfulfilled promises. In many of his iterations, you can find him solving others' problems, believing that he can pay off his emotional debts in that way.
Some mortals have mistaken him for a cryptid, inspiring urban legends wherever he goes.
With [Noddie], Thor is part of a guild of paranormal creatures, living in a pocket plane called聽BarrioWeen.

The door to Barrioween: Project Resume
This is a very text-heavy (sorry!) explanation about my longest original side project, Barrioween. I have already shown off a pair of characters in it, like [Specthor] (main lead and narrator) and [Noddie] (co-protagonist and important end-game element).
I can't set a deadline for when the full thing will be released, but I want to launch public info dumps like this now and then (I am currently drafting Part II, which has more graphic and illustrated material, for next time).

I would have loved to participate in the Artfight this year (it's been like... three-four years since the last time I did? Woha... ) but I keep messing around and rearranging design traits to make coherent character references sooo... There.
Funny, all of these (except for the last) are OCs that are part of the same project called Door to Barrioween x'D There's a total of 30 characters there OMG WHAT I DO THIS TO MYSELF 馃挜馃挜馃挜

Pop off my liege!! I wanna hear all about the rambles, stories, and character shenanigans you have got going on in your noggin! 馃憖馃憖馃憖 Also! How was your Birfday?!? Did you do anything fun??
Noddie started to flutter around my mind again! Something that I take as a good signal because she is very muse-inspiration-coded 馃専
But funnily these thoughts are not about her but the setting she shares with my other OCs of "Door to Barrioween": after reading about magic practices using symbols, correspondences, and the creation of egregors, I have been polishing the "rules" and concepts that make that world and entities work! So, I hope I can release soon another bunch of Info-Dump slides explaining the project's inner workings x)
I was thinking too how to start telling that story... I have a draft that could work more as a one-shot, Halloween-flavored with Specthor as a listener/interrogator and Jarrah (fairy gourdmother) as the one narrating her experiences being created from a powerful Autumn-Equinox aligned entity and finding her way to Barrioween.
But again, I think that one is too forward? I need a more grounded "starting point" and I thought telling Specthor's meeting with a "stray" entity like Wasabi (minogame miko/healer) and being his guide around, presenting the nature of the liminal creatures of Barrioween and Barrioween per se.
The other thing that keeps me being stuck if it making it a comic or directly like the original plan, a Kinectic/Visual Novel. The original plan is quite demanding on the programmatic side and will take longer to develop. A comic could be the most viable (and easily accessible) route to take but knowing myself, better if work on it with a limited palette and lettering all in digital instead of by hand like I used to do.
Sorry for the rambling if you expected something more FUN to read from me! And I'm not searching for feedback about this either... but it does good to me to have this spilled out of my brain and read back my own words. Something will come from this and if everything fails, I'm still projecting the idea for the Bestiary!

I've been quite busy these last weeks because i'm teaching how to code a game on Ren'py to a dear friend. I'm not exactly an expert with the software but i messed a lot with it during my early years so, i know the basics + some tricks that for someone like her that doesn't even know how to code in HTML, is a great deal. And in general listening to her reactions when she runs her script and seeing it work its an absolute delight to me. This is helping me also: i'm using as a starter kit my own artworks of characters and backgrounds, and to dust off my skills and see if i can make something from this too. "The Door to Barrioween" is one of those projects i always wanted to put in this format: the cast is stupidly long and the lore is simple but rich enought to make a game with it. Or at least a demo. I try not to set my goals too high, just develop it without rush.

The OC from my last rbs is one of the few of my long cast of fictional critters that sits comfortably in chaotic-evil alignment but works as co-protagonist on my project "Door to Barrioween" LMAO
He's creation is circa 2017, that means no one can make me doubt about working with characters of his unhinged and dark calliber: I have almost a decade curating and enjoying monstruous beings like him in fantasy and is cool af!
No one but me can't tell me how to handle these things. No one can't tell me that I'm wrong for working with such and/or that I would end "bad" for delving in these type of themes.
Actually is a tasty licorice treat for me.
